Sk8 Church is a welcoming place.

We like it to be people's second homes, where you can come and be yourself and find your own voice.

We are one of seven indoor skate parks in all of Colorado.

When they come into the building, they're pretty shocked The energy and the lights and the music.

The skate park is here, and then you have the video games in one corner and there's a free snacks.

We serve anywhere from 60 to 140 kids a week.

We have two program nights that are faith-based.

You come in, you free skate, and then we eat dinner.

Always a homemade meal.

We do a message, we open our Bibles.

Proverbs 16:9 You do not have to be a believer to walk in these doors.

This is a place for absolutely everybody.

Sk8 Church originated 20 years ago.

Just a couple of skate kids from Southern California, saw that there was a need for outreach for skate kids.

You got this, buddy.

This is an amazing space because it's free.

It's air conditioned in the summer, it's heated in the winter.

It's like the perfect combination that I would never think of it.

Like, you can skate with your friends and then you can learn about Jesus and God.

It's awesome.

People are so welcoming.

After that first week I was like, this is awesome.

This is like, where I want my life to be.

This is a space where I can just be myself and get better at something that's healthy for me.

And then I just kind of fell in love with it because I did feel so accepted.

I wasn't even, like, believing in Jesus at the time.

And then I just, like, fell in love with the place.

And it really helped my faith.

All right, so this week's verse is all about his plan.

This could potentially be the end of this chapter in this home here for Sk8, because what he has for us is way bigger than we could even think about right.

So in 2023, our rent more than doubled.

It's been really hard to maintain that level of fundraising.

When we reach the $150,000 mark, our next vision is for the $350,000 mark because we don't want to be one rent increase from being out of business.

It's kind of taken for granted, I guess, in some ways.

You don't really think about all of the stuff that it takes to keep this place open.

Im falling forward at you.

If we were to lose this space, we'd lose the safety net for the youth in Steamboat.

It'd just be like losing a part of me.

Because I've been going here for so long, and my family has.

Its been really, like, in my past, and I hope it's in my future.

When I see a kid, just find their place here, it gives me the spark and it gives me the desire to keep going, because even that one kid is worth all of this.
