THEY HAVE ASSUMED FOR ALMOST 50 YEARS , WITH A TEAM LED BY RESEARCHERS.
IT TURNS OUT THAT THESE ARE ANEMONES.
IT'S HARD TO FIND IN THE FOSSIL RECORD.
IT'S A REALLY SIGNIFICANT CHANGE , LOOKING AT THEM IN ANOTHER DIRECTION.
>> THEY'VE HAD THESE FOSSILS, THEY HAVE BEEN SITTING THERE.
IT IS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT CREATURE.
>> RIGHT.
IF YOU'VE BEEN FOLLOWING , IT'S ON ITS PATH TO BECOMING AN OFFICIAL LAND DECORATION.
>> IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE A CHICAGO LANDMARK WITH FINAL APPROVAL , AND IT WILL BE INTRODUCED AND IT WILL ALL GO AS PLANNED , AND WILL OFFICIALLY HAVE CHICAGO LANDMARK STATUS WITH THAT STAIRSTEP WALL .
THIS IS WHAT PEOPLE HAVE BEEN FIGHTING TO PRESERVE.
THERE'S ALSO ADDED PROTECTION FOR THE LANDSCAPE PLANS , WITH TREES AROUND THE SITE AND A MEADOW IN THE MIDDLE , SO THAT CAN'T REALLY BE ALTERED.
MAYBE THE TYPES OF TREES, FOR CLIMATE PURPOSES, BUT THE BASIC LAYOUT HAS TO STAY THE SAME.
