It is chaos here, but it is metal.

So Metal Smith is just a generic term for someone who works with metal generally forges or uses heat to solder things together to make things.

And so I make jewelry.

I make jewelry here in Bayfield.

So I have had quite an adventure in my life.

And I lived in Mexico for 20 years.

And in Mexico I was actually doing marine mammal research.

I'm actually a biologist, self taught metal Smith jeweler and I would sit on the beach for many hours because we couldn't get out on the water because it's too wavy and you can't look for whales if there's big, huge waves.

So we would hang out on the beach and I would collect shells and rocks and I just started wiring things together and making it into jewelry.

So that's kind of how it started.

And then it's progressed since there.

But everything that I make or where I am now, of course, has is a product of what I have done and what I've experienced.

And those trials and tribulations and sorrows and those joys.

So it's kind of cool to see where I am now versus where I was back then.
