Suicide impacts all of us New Mexicans disproportionately with the state’s suicide death rates being at least 50% higher than national rates (NMDOH, 2014). A new task force that involves cooperation with the City of Las Cruces is getting off the ground to help bring attention to this crisis. Dr. Satya Rao is a professor at NMSU and is the chair and Sandra White is Vice Chair of the task force.
