Medical aid in dying law goes into effect

The law allows terminally ill patients to self-administer medication to end their life.

In April, Gov. Phil Murphy signed into law the Medical Aid in Dying for the Terminally Ill Act, which allows terminally ill patients to self-administer medication that will end their life. But getting the prescription is not a simple process.
