Many of the state’s school buildings are close to 100 years old and don’t have updated ventilation systems. It’s a major factor in the spread of a virus like COVID-19, and it led many districts to opt for remote learning plans. The Work Environment Council says the CDC hasn’t stressed the risk of the tiny droplets that can escape even when someone is wearing a mask.
