Pediatric cases of coronavirus are on the rise in New Jersey and New York, with many children presenting illness that mirrors Kawasaki disease. It causes inflammation in the body, sometimes weeks after a child was exposed to COVID. Treatments for Kawasaki disease seem to be working well, although patients face greater risk of aneurysm, stroke and heart attack in the future.
