Days before the the school year starts, some districts are switching to all-virtual plans.
With just days to go before the start of the school year, some districts are switching to all-virtual plans because of teacher and staff shortages. The shortages include substitute teachers, which was a problem before COVID-19. Lakewood’s schools are set to open Friday, but the teachers union is pushing for a hybrid model instead of the full-time reopening plan that was approved by the state.
