FOR EXAMPLE, RIGHT HERE WE'RE IN HIGHLAND PARK RIGHT NOW, AND BACK IN THE YEAR 2000, WE CAME HERE FOR THE FIRST TIME TO DO A PROGRAM ABOUT THIS WONDERFUL OLD, FAMILY-OWNED AND -OPERATED GROCERY STORE CALLED GALCO'S.
AND LIKE THE SIGN SAYS, GALCO'S HAS BEEN A PART OF LOS ANGELES SINCE 1897.
IT'S BEEN HERE IN HIGHLAND PARK SINCE 1955.
NOW, WE CAME TO GALCO'S THAT FIRST TIME TO DO A STORY ABOUT THE FACT THAT THEY SPECIALIZE IN SELLING OLD SODA POPS, SODA POPS THAT MOST OF US DRANK AS CHILDREN AND LOVED AND THOUGHT HAD BEEN DISCONTINUED, BUT IT ENDS UP THEY WERE ALIVE AND WELL AND BEING SOLD HERE AT GALCO'S.
WE GOT A TREMENDOUS RESPONSE FROM THAT STORY, SO WE FIGURE IT'S TIME FOR AN UPDATE, A SODA POP UPDATE, SO WE HAVE COME BACK TO HIGHLAND PARK.
WE'VE COME BACK TO GALCO'S, AND BEFORE WE HAVE THE UPDATE, WE'RE GONNA GO BACK IN TIME--I WAS STANDING ACTUALLY RIGHT HERE ON THIS SPOT--AND TAKE A LOOK AT THAT FIRST VISIT BACK IN THE YEAR 2000.
