Has anybody here ever given advice before?
Well, if you ever find yourself on the hamster wheel of life and you want to get off of it, 'cause you wake up one day and you realize your stuff owns you and you don't own your stuff.
And you're thinking, man, why am I putting all this OT trying to pay this thing off I never get to use.
All you boat owners out there.
Or whatever.
You might go asking somebody else for advice.
And hopefully if you ask for advice, you follow the rules and you ask somebody who loves you.
You ask somebody who's older than you.
And you ask somebody with higher IQ.
It's very important.

My old man went by the name Wayne, but his full name was his full name was John Wayne Degraw.
And you know, being named John Wayne back in 1948 would've been like if I would name my kid now like Brad Pitt Degrraw, you know, kind of a tough name to live up to, you know.
Picture your kid out there in the yard at recess and teacher standing there calling for Brad Pitt and your son comes trotting up.
Somebody called me?
Sorry, wrong Brad Pitt.
But my father was a, his day job, his day job was he worked for the New York State Department of Corrections.
He was what you would call a prison guard.
And my folks were, they were high school sweethearts and they went to Woodstock together in 1969.
And as my father put it, he said I went there with your mother with my draft card in my back pocket for the Vietnam War.
And he got shipped out to basic right after the weekend.

Back in about the year 2000 I was living in the East Village right at the edge of alphabet city in New York.
And I had a piano in there and I'd sit there and I'd try to write songs every day.
And I had this neighbor who lived upstairs ffom me, a big strong guy.
And every once in a while when I was playing.
Thank you, bro.
Every once in a while when I was playing music during the daytime, he'd remind me how strong he was by dropping his weights on the floor, which was my ceiling.
And that was just him reminding me that he could come downstairs and tear my arms off anytime he wanted to.
So I'd try to make my writing session short.
I was trying to write this, maybe a song Paul McCartney would write, 'cause you know, as a songwriter you try to come up with silly ways to stay motivated and trying to come up with ideas.
So I thought, hey, what will Paul McCartney write?
Had a hell of a time because I'm not Paul McCartney.
So I never got to write one like that.
Instead I ended up with this song right here, which did all right for me, This song was a hit in Japan.
So, it was a hit here too.
But it was a hit in Japan.
So tonight I'd like to perform it for you in Japanese.
