It is the boys 1A state title game.
It will be Wilkinson against Terrill.
We welcome you back here to what has been a great atmosphere of high school basketball here on TBS live exclusive coverage of the state basketball playoffs.
I'm Gil Tyree.
What a game earlier.
And the girls won by Westley.
And then, of course, we'll find out right now who wins in the single.
In terms of the boys division, will it be Wilkinson or will it be Terrell?
And for the call of this basketball game here today on GPB.
We set the stage now with our broadcast crew, John Wilkerson and Fletcher Proctor.
Gentlemen, good afternoon.
And good afternoon to you.
Gil Tyree.
And settle in because we think we got a track meet ahead of you between Wilkinson County and Terrell County, a rematch of last year's Elite eight game, a game Terrell County won.
And tell you what, Wilkinson County undefeated When they get a motivated, undefeated team that's pretty lethal.
55 and one the last two seasons.
The only lost coming to this Terrell County squad.
You know they want a little bit of redemption after what happened last season at redemption as well remind Thomas Allen their stars excellent shooter.
He has a 17 points per contest coming to this one.
He had 20 against Purdue earlier on in the playoffs last week.
He had 16 points, his big semifinal win.
He's locked in, ready to go.
Dr. Aaron Jeter is the head coach at Wilkinson County, caught up to him earlier.
He's pretty excited about this one.
Here to get the Greenway point of view.
Coach, what's it like playing for your first title since 1984?
Well, it's an ultimate goal that we as coaches, players came into the locker room and start discussing and talked about that we're going to do our best, put forth the effort and give it our all to play for this final championship game.
Seven seniors on this roster.
What does it mean for them and everyone down in Dawson?
everybody is excited.
The community, the county of Terrell is excited about this game.
You can see the fan base here today.
the seven.
The seniors are very proud.
They say once that in the locker room when my last three wave uniform, let's give it our all And I'm proud of those guys.
You'll like this afternoon.
Thank you very much.
Okay.
I was John Davis, Otero County head coach.
There's a huge contingent of Dawson, Georgia, come down to watch the Greenway play.
Now, Wilkinson is in this state championship game.
One of four years ago, Dr. Aaron Jeter's their head coach.
John Nelson caught up with him earlier this here with Dr. Jeter.
First question, got to ask, what's it like playing for another state title?
I tell you what, it ain't a better feeling in the world.
So we're excited to be here.
Now it's like another home game for you coming over here from Irwin's.
And what's it like to have this crowd support?
Well, same thing, just like you said, you know, 25 minutes away.
So we've got everybody in.
Everyone's in here.
All right.
Thanks for your time.
You like this afternoon?
Thank you.
All right.
Thank you very much, John.
We set the table for you for the class single-A state championship game.
We'll tip it off when we come back from Dallas.
Let's.

Have you tried one of these?
Something?
I can't believe we haven't done this before.
wow.
Look at that.
A bike.
How did you do the chain?
Like a good neighbor.
State focused there.
Hey, guys.
What?
Do it again.
Do it again.
Like a good neighbor.
Step up there in my office.

I think we're good.

And welcome back to the Macon Coliseum.
Are getting ready to tip off their boys single-A state championship game.
But before we do, let's introduce you to a third member of our broadcast team, Jon Nelson.
Good afternoon, John.
To you and Fletcher.
It's something old and something new.
In Wilkinson County in Erlandson, they have banners for championships hanging in the dungeon, dating all the way back to 1963 after losing last year before they made it to making.
It has been their mission ever since then to get back to this point.
Parents never ask if you won.
They always ask you by how much you won for Terrell County.
The last time any team, boys or girls appeared on this floor was 2005.
You heard from Coach Davis in the open.
They're trying to do something they haven't done, guys, since 1984 to Dawson and Irwin's in this game means everything.
Back to you.
Thank you very much.
John Nelson demands your Stubbs shirt.
Jeremy McCormick, Marshawn Jones, Ross Drummond, Thomas and Alvin Dupree.
Your starters for the Warriors for the Green Wave.
Your starting five for Tracy.
Shannon Terrell Hall.
Charles Brown.
The Koven where Elliott Harvey.
Not one of them above six feet tall.
This is going to be a fun game.
Fletcher Proctor Tell me the keys of the game for this one real quick.
If you're Wilkinson, you've got to use your size to control the boards.
You've got to be efficient with each of your possessions.
And if you fall behind early, don't panic.
There's no need to panic.
If you're Wilkinson, you know that you can score points in bunches.
On the flip side, balance scoring is the key for Terrell.
It also got to get that outside game going early and avoid a letdown from that big semifinal win.
Do pray and where the jump and the tip is control by Terrell County a tall ahead and knocked away and where are you free comes away with it That's the Manziel stuff he runs the show stuff to make.
Go ahead.
Just going to say Stubbs had 12 points in that big win last Friday or Wednesday to advance them to the state final game.
He's a senior.
In fact, there's 11 seniors on this team, a three pointer no good by Wilkinson County and the rebound by Terrell coming where it came down with that rebound he said he stood tall as player out there six feet for the greenway every pass from brown to where Terrell County draws first play.
He was able to get nice positioning on the inside where put up two points.
He led the team with 16 in a victory over Whitfield as well two three zone by Terrell County they'll mix it up play a little two three, switch up a little straight man.
There's a drive by McCormick out there now for the boy there's we're battling with Dupree if you play with the follow to three is quite an athlete at six foot four he's actually going to go to Kentucky and play a little wide receiver tight end for the Wildcats.
You don't think he's going to have some have some fun up there playing for Joker?
And you don't think Coach Powell might have missed Basketball was a bad pass picked up by McCormick and Will come running?
That's Marshawn Jones.
You'll slow things down.
Stubbs of all three not there.
And Ware comes away with the rebound.
Daryl Hall runs the show for Terrell County.
We'll keep trying to get out there and get their outside game going early, working around one three by Brown.
I care.
Both teams testing the 3.1 and a foul on Coleman where on the Manziel stuff that's his first team full intensity is at an all time high right now you mentioned it a minute ago.
It's going to be a bit of a track meet.
And right now he's going to go up and down.
Not a lot of scoring so far, but great defensive intensity for both squads.
Terrell County and Wilkinson County met last year in the elite eight and Terrell County upset Wilco.
In fact, its only lost in the last two seasons and there's a turnover as big.
Elliott Harvey comes away with a loose ball.
He may be as wide as he is high.
I mean that is a complementary since taking that step of Marshawn Jones.
There's a tip by McCormick and now Wilco looking to run.
They've got some numbers.
That's Marshawn Jones giving it back to McCormick.
What another turnover battle for both teams on the floor and the Coleman Where settles it down for Terrell County Great to see him diving on the floor They both know what this game needs.
Both teams a little tight offensively committing turnovers there from Thomas and a beautiful bounce pass but intercepted by Terrell County that was Trey containing basket good and Terrell County Charles Brown with the basket and a timeout a 22nd by Taylor hit by Terrell County We're going to take a break it's fast and furious already and making or we're four points for when I'm on Gp-B is made possible in part by supporters of the Georgia High School Association, including the following through Thursday.
This isn't Madison Square Garden.
These drills probably won't make anyone a number one draft pick, but these players are practicing for something important while they work on their jump shots.
They're also learning teamwork, discipline, self-confidence, how to deal with wins and losses, skills that will make them winners long after they leave the court.
Support high school activities in your community because when kids take part, they get set for life out there.
Jeremy McCormick hit a three while we're away, and now we'll go with the loose ball up by a point guard.
Manziel Stubbs, a beautiful move.
Well, Fritz pastry about the high in the back pass intercepted by the trade to Cannon when McCormick hit that three.
His game is really a slasher scheme, but he's able to step back on the three point line and make it from point blank.
It's to Coleman where back and forth in this first quarter 6 to 5 Terrell County and where has all six of Terrell County's points so he's actually beating Wilkinson County by himself right now six got the loose ball picked up by Terrell Castro Brown pushing it up the floor.
We'll throw in that relentless man to man defense.
He'll get your drill.
Here's a three by brown right there.
And Wilco comes with a loose ball.
He was able to get free for just a moment long enough to fire that three pointer.
Found a crack in that man to man off of our defense.
yeah.
Open looks are going to be a premium with the way these two teams play defense Lamar Thomas with two and the foul he was the player we are watching coming into this one Thomas averaging 17 points per contest he had 22 and you saw a nice play to go around Elliott Harvey find the basket and he's go out of line for a chance to make it a three point play the old fashioned way.
First foul on Harvey and you said a lot.
Try to go around big.
ELLIOTT Harvey.
He sits on the bench after committing his first round.
You take a look at Thomas's numbers.
He converts on the three point play at the six foot county one in your last state championship in 2017.
19 Star power on Tobias Adams scenario.
Hillman is Marquez Dotson.
This is his first shot of the game.
This will co county team more of a cohesive unit.
Well later we'll we'll see when they're top players in the post Jarvis Williams it was this guy that actually came off the bench to score 30 and 16 in their quarterfinal victory.
He gets pace so he's a guy that it sets pretty nice for coach to be able to bring in such a force off the bench.
Try Travis number 42 shot up good by Marquez Dotson a three pointer and that just terrible and if that and if that's familiar it's because Dotson got hot late in the third quarter in that semifinal game hitting two long three pointers.
Marshawn Jones, he's a defensive stopper.
When they get points from him, it's a luxury.
Well, they just did and took the lead on one of their many seniors for real courtesy and the ball out of bounds and he'll go to work on the turnover and these teams are finally starting to find a little bit of a scoring rhythm John And you're starting to see after a lot of kind of sloppy play early on the track meet, it's really got going with the basket.
Jesse going in.
However, on my experience in these championship games, the enormity of the game kind of sets in and teams become conservative and almost afraid to make a mistake.
And there's a turnover there by Wilco.
Not in this one.
These boys are familiar force.
You got the revenge factor to both these teams.
Wilco has a little revenge on Terrell, but both these teams respect each other and they want to get after it.
Yeah, you saw the graphic amount of go tax paid for field goals.
The only difference is that blown free to.
shot spins around and falls for Terrell County Terrell Hall 2 to 3 zone Wilco already with four baskets and six turnovers at stops hitting the three come on up to senior and 14 points 12 rebounds five assists in the semifinal against Greenville Senior point guard could certainly put it up in a hurry Terrell Hall Terrell Hall trying to throw a little crossover as a foul go the other way offensive foul Terrell counting the pick him to foul is number 32 Peters he's going to pick up his first foul the attribute you see right here nice positioning by Stubbs gets his position set on the inside that's going to be a turnover Georgia high school state basketball yeah Devonte Peters checked in five nine senior Interesting how we'll call it Texas zone There's a long jumper not there by Rashaan Jones in the hands of the Manziel stops.
He's heating up from three point range.
Fletcher I like to say it's two straight three pointers for Starks and if he gets going from the outside, he could beat the green way.
It could be in troubling hurt Brown on the move crowd control but nice touch by Wilkinson telling you see him right there Starks who was really a force the reason that maybe they they won that city final game he's had an effort already here in the first quarter straight man by Wilko for Darius Greer's checked in Rozier and they're stuffed stuffs Reminds me so much of no one Smith the Duke point guard he can do it all condition can drive and he always gets his teammates involved.
There's that penetrating ability and he gets draws the foul.
That's a good comparison.
I see a lot of them as well.
Nolan Smith is a guy, at least for Duke, who can score deep and get others involved.
And so far, Stubbs is you saw him right there.
He drives the basket as we see on replay, to draw the foul.
And you also can step back and knock the other three pointer down.
It's the first one to Manziel stops tells me as you see substitutions coming in Elliott Harvey Jacoby and Ware come back in Manziel.
Stubbs tells me his favorite subject is math.
And with the number he's putting up, you can add him up pretty high.
Well, he's averaging 11 on the season.
He's already got seven leading all scorers.
Check that eight is a perfect trip for the Manziel stops.
He's building a seven point lead for Wilkinson got his in the first quarter for Terrell Hall and they'll play for the last shot.
Paul is a guy averaging 13 points per game.
He had 12 at that big semifinal win over the field, a kind of 5 seconds.
Terrell Hall finding the Trey Buchanan.
Here's Hall a long three at the buzzer got there.
We've come to the end of the first quarter here at the Lincoln Coliseum.
It's all Wilkinson County up by seven and up by six.

I'm only going to triumph once and I'm not going to be like that guy.
Look, I'm only going to smoke meth once and I'm not going to be like that guy.
Look, I'm just going to shoot up just just once, all right?
I'm not going to be like that guy.
I'm not going to be like that guy.
I'm only going to do my thumbs.
I'm not going to end up like that guy.
And welcome back to the Macon Coliseum, Wilkinson County up by seven.
Let's go down to John Nelson.
Let's think about 1984, guys.
John Fletcher, what were you doing in 1984 here in the state of Georgia?
It was George Busby, Zell Miller and the Atlanta Braves were nowhere close to the map.
That's the last time Terrell County won a state championship.
And to show you how things kind of go around in circles, the head coach of that 84 team is now the super intended for schools in Charles County.
And that's how things go round and round when it comes to high school hoops here in Georgia.
And that superintendent's name is Robert Aaron.
And by the way, I was a junior in high school and I was on the basketball team and I was nowhere near a state championship level.
Wilko hit it with an eight run Fletcher and he mentioned it during the break.
Terrell County, really in a tough spot today, switched up to man to man where they dropped out of the zone.
And right there is the reason why they switched some of this out.
They switched the man to man and Jarvis Williams had an open alley.
He gets the layup and the foul.
That's what he's going to do.
He had 30 points in that big win against today.
And you see and you split up.
The defense right there puts it up six six.
He's about seven inches taller than every other member out there on the floor.
Carroll Count, he's a senior, had a huge game at this pace in the quarter with 30 points, 15 rebounds.
He knocks down the free throw.
ELLIOTT Harvey was taken off balance just seconds.
So he's the reason you want to play zone.
But then again, if you play man, if you play zone, they're also going to beat you out there with those threes from Stubbs, Sean Jones talking about his first two Carroll County on the possession down by ten in the first quarter there Lee Harvey trying to spin against Williams rebound underneath by Brown has a rejected Nothing's coming easy for Terrell County in this one Yeah Thomas used his big frame down there to reject the pass the guard mixing it up on the defensive end underneath and it looks like throughout Terrell County has settled back in the two three zone.
Well they're doing that to try to combat again Jarvis Williams but if you believe Stubbs open too long and if he maybe have to chase or something trying to force that pass in the Williams is broken up and here comes Carroll Hall I'll run the show he'll take it all the way.
And has it knocked out of his hands by the Manziel down a three on one and Williams Nope nope basket it shuffled his feet yeah he just didn't have control of the ball And when he did it, when he tried to get in control, he just moved that right.
Pivot flipped.
Doctor and cheater in his 13th year.
Wilkinson County.
You never want to see that stare at Doctor Cheater.
He got his doctorate in educational administration supervision from South Carolina State University.
He had a very successful tenure at Wilkinson County.
Here's where Calvin Dupree on him.
Charles Brown The Challenge by Raymond Thomas An open look for We're not there and a great box out by Williams on the rebound Jones thought about it We stuck sells it down trying to find a way to attack that zone There's Williams inside hacked inside looks like Marcus Dotson got him on that half.
Well he'll go back to the line where he was just perfect just a minute ago and I think that's what they're going have to do is you see him dump it down right here, getting a little help coming over.
But Dotson little too little too handsy with that help.
And going to the line will be Jarvis Williams.
Williams has a scholarship offer to Seattle.
You know, if he's set to yet go a long way from home.
What's very nice though it's a touch from the free throw line it's going to say it's pretty nice when you're when you're sixth man first guy off the bench is, you know, your best college prospect.
That's how it is for Coach Jeter.
I know John Nelson knows this.
And some of the guys in the truck that can you name the most famous player to come out of Seattle.
You know, I cannot I don't even want to.
I guess I'm going to let you think about it.
Okay.
All right.
Wilco on a 13 to 0 run.
Our producer, Tom Brady, has one in the car, I'll tell you, is her name is Elliott Harvey.
Muscles and big frame inside can't hit.
And Jarvis Williams for rebound Fletcher it's Elgin Baylor is that way two for your time Elgin Baylor He's on the Lakers score yes tough from there on the basket as Terrell County stops the bleeding briefly.
Yes, Elgin Baylor.
That's going way back.
That's going way back.
That's inappropriate.
I think when you ask me a question before I was bored.
Come on.
You owe Tom Bourdain's dinner.
Charles Brown and the two on one and demands you'll start on the fire.
Well, if there's any way that the green way we're going to get back into this, it's taking advantage.
A transition.
They've got to force it in.
In the deep in the frontcourt.
Get those immediately.
Run to the basket.
You see that right here.
Here's Brown going high up the basket.
He doesn't get the shot, but he draws the foul.
He's going to go to the line and the clock is stopped.
Chances Score supports.
Brown's a 59% free for sure so his numbers for the season connection now looks a little better than 59% right there that that looks pretty pure for these been nice elbow release rotation bottom of the basket Charles Brown had a little bit of a confidence problem They want to take big shots in the regular season They just didn't they just didn't pull the trigger.
And then all of a sudden it clicked when the regional championship tournament started.
He's been on a tear since they playoffs began at ten points, seven rebounds against Greenville in the semifinals with a beautiful pass and a jam by Alvin Dupree.
You see the athleticism.
That's why Joker Philips wants him on his football team.
Next season.
He elevated with the flattop, no less.
that's going old school.
Terrell Hall up to Brown.
That's Marcus Dotson with a long three not there.
And there's Alvin Dupré on the rebound.
It's a good look though by Dotson He's got to keep firing those if available he nailed on one early on the contest now extend that to three zone trying to force a turnover while three by stops short and rebound by Dotson blocking out Alvin Duke three and Dotson is a very active on the rebound on the offensive glass in the last game their victory over looking at a town hall trying to make something happen draws the foul might have been on Alvin Duke three called on the shot Johnson there's the jam by Joe Frazier Look how high he gets right here and he's he's throwing his legs up just about as tall as the local defender.
Here it is again.
Underneath is 21.
JONES And check that 21 BROWN He's six feet tall and brown can hit fouls long shot try to hit throughout hall and out of bounds You know it's throwback to Alvin Dupree that leaping ability he's going to be able to catch some short passes for the Wildcats as he as his career evolves in Lexington.
Here's a drive by star beautiful bounce pass in the Dupree not there Williams battling tall for the rebound all comes away trying to push it up the floor He'll force it in not there player with the rebound foul on the floor and out of Ben Williams pin see who they called the foul line I think it's going to go against 23 it's going to go against Thomas me Thomas called them the foul his first three and take a break here Making will go up by ten.
Come on.
Gp-B is made possible in part by supporters of the Georgia High School Association, including the following.
Have you tried one of these?
So something.
And I can't believe we haven't done this before.
wow.
Look at that.
A bike.
How did you jingle?
Do the two good neighbors stay focused there.
Hey, guys.
do it again.
Do it again.
Like a good neighbor.
Step over there in my office.
Stay firm.
I think we're good.
State Farm agents are there when you need them.
Hey, welcome back to the Macon Coliseum.

While you're there, check out all the other great high school sports action from the regular season playoffs and state championships That's Comcast OnDemand, John Wall, John Wilkerson, Fletcher Proctor and John Nelson here.
Both schools have large fan bases.
You got the green of Terrell County and the blue storm of Wilkinson County and they've really filled up the Macon Coliseum.
FLETCHER Yeah, the parking lot was almost full at this morning when I got here at 11:00.
There are people outside tailgating, getting ready for this game.
You knew who it was because they were either in the green cars with the green paint all over it or they were coming in with the with the blue and gold.
So both of these fan bases very active, very excited, pumped to be here.
A lot of tradition.
So yeah.
And you ended up having a hike here after parking your cars, which I did.
Well I was almost lucky enough to get a a ride up here with one of the Terrell County fans, Wilkinson County shooting eight of 15 from the field, Terrell County six of 22.
Wilkinson really hitting their shots and that's why they're up by ten.
So kind of doing a nice job of getting second chances.
They just need to get a few more to drop Terrell County in possession.
That's big.
ELLIOTT Harvey inside look in the spin against Williams good guy an open look but couldn't connect and with the rebound as Jeremy McCormick was made a nice spin for a man who decides to go right around Jarvis Williams just couldn't get it to drop.
And now tell Kenny sitting that zone out to a match up and that is Williams parting of the ways, slowing it down one hand and that's got the blue storm going.
Williams took off from about a step inside the free throw line and dropped it without any worry and traveling on Tyrell Hall and he did get a citizen big time dunk by Jarvis Williams and he look at it he's fired up he is fired up getting that crowd into it his teammates and do it with the primal yell of man, I'm on Wilkinson County's side right now.
We mentioned they won the state title four years ago.
They had some stars in that team are TV's Saddam scenario.
Helmand.
In fact, Hillman's plane run up the road at the Georgia Dome, the SCC tournament for the Crimson Tide of Alabama.
And the foul looks like it's on Marquez, Dotson on the pump.
Hey take a look at Wilco.
I mean they won at No.
Seven.
They were up in Double-A when they won the 2002 crown 99 to 20 with back to back.
They certainly are no strangers to success.
Well, since 1963, they've been playing championship or winning basketball.
Wilkinson County, you take a look at Raymond Thomas, picks the free throw Ramada six to Senior his team's best score.
Here's a shot for you and his favorite players, LeBron James.
You wonder why he wears number 22.
That's what Trey Buchanan and a foul away from the ball.
I think they take my kids Dotson on the push up to 18 fouls now Adrian Garnett calls Terrell out 18 fouls was a year ago in the state semifinal against Brookfield Academy He's starting five fouled out and Gardner battling inside Alvin Dupree.
I don't go to Terrell County it's a nice reward for the defense when you're able to force a jump ball and you just happened to have the alternate possession lets you kind of take control of the chance to get back into this thing with a three pointer.
They can put up the ten points.
Here's Hall looking for a move, trying to make things happen challenging Williams not there and Dupree gets the rebound and loses it to Kofi in where the sound on the strong move to the hole by the Manziel stuffs and they never gave up the greenway never gave up even after the missed shot it seemed like is going to go up there with the ball kind of poked it away where took it to the hole, got rejected but picked up the foul and it's going to the line where this is the front end of his two shots.
Substitution coming in The trade with Keenan Charles Brown was set to take over the court in where favorite favorite class algebra and he's one of two on that trip to the line He's the leading scorer with seven points for Terrell County.
They've really got to get him going and find someone to help out.
On the offensive side, there's that matchup zone now as they try to extend the pressure on those guards.
Williams top of the key.
He's not afraid to drive loses the handle battle for Gardner and you and we've got a foul on Adrian Garcia Jarvis Williams a goal last night team foul first foul on government and the officials were quick to blow that whistle They had the right call there.
It's kind of a scramble on the floor just it looked like Gardner was a little more aggressive in terms of try to fight for that loose ball on the ground.
Curtis Pierce, Terrance Isom and Dewey Dillard trade your officials in today's game.
Williams misses the fun, another one on one, but a great rebound there by Buchanan and a foul on Dupree.
Yeah, Fighting for the rebound.
Dupree It actually it went out of bounds but first he picked up the foul And now for Dupree, I've been pretty impressed with his basketball abilities.
We know how he was a star for the football team as they made a deep cut in the playoffs this season.
But on the basketball court, his skills do translate.
I wonder if Coach Cal is going to say maybe you want to just come him here.
Football season is over.
And let me show you the blue mysterious Kentucky.
Here's big hole Elliott Harvey with a great pass inside Okogie.
We're still battling for it as a stripped strip by Thomas, who leads a two on one and Thomas tries to finish bucket.
And here's Harvey with the rebound great outlet pass to Terrell Hall.
He'll take it all the way score it and the foul and the foul blocking foul on Wilkinson count it and right there you see just how special Hall is.
He's a player that we highlighted before the game goes up off the basket draws the book from Thomas and he's got a chance for a three point play the old fashioned way four points so far.
He's really got to get it going to reach his average of 13 14.6 to 76 against Greenville, 17 points against Turner Town in the quarter, 17 points in the first round victory over McDermott County.
And it connects from the three point play.
Well that's exactly what Terrell Terrell County needs to spark this offense.
It's been a stagnant offense so far for the Greenway.
There's a jumper no good spark.
Quantrill Williams is checked in the game for Wilkinson County and clear skies to get that rebound.
He is despite his size at only six feet tall.
He's gone up and got severe.
He got over the much taller Wilco place where backs down and Williams with the rebound.
Terrell County hoping to capture some momentum before they go in the halftime locker room as well Down to a minute left and there's a drive by Marshawn Jones John Jones Jones took it in May have gotten a little bump, no call, but he still was able to find the back of the basket and even stretched that lead out to 11.
Wilkinson County team not afraid to attack the basket when the openings are there.
Here's where how the it getting shot no done by Martez Dotson and after 30 seconds until halftime it's still a 3219 lead and those shots were falling for Dotson the other day against Whitfield Academy.
That's only gone down once.
I think he's missed a couple from beyond the three point Williams loses the ball here's Terrell Hall with a beautiful fake takes it himself and finishes all start and he got he's got five now here in the second quarter and they need Terrell Hall to do that to capture some momentum especially as we get in the second half.
Here's a turnover by Quatro Williams He double clutch it a little bit, waiting for a man to get open.
All the Greenway teams kind of flash out to make him stop for a second.
Hold on to it just a half a bit longer than he wanted to.
And now is enough time to pick up the walk and drop.
And so Terrell County now has a chance to get a basket and feel good about themselves heading into the halftime locker room.
Wilkinson County is coming a 12 turnovers in the first half and yet they're up 30 to 21.
Here's a shot up by Terrell Hall trying to make something happen.
He's fouled inside.
He's going to go to the line of the chance to chip away at this thing, chip away to get it maybe down to seven points, 3 seconds to go until halftime.
Terrell Hall will step in.
Jeremy McCormick on the foul side makes the first one call.
Looks like he's feeling comfortable now in the flow of the game.
He's got to the free throw line that's I think where he found his comfort zone and now he's right at home, one of two on that trip.
But the rebound by Buchanan and Hall can't hit the buzzer.
And we're at halftime here at the Macon Coliseum in the class single-A Boise State championship game.
Wilkinson County trying to win the first state championship since 2007 3222.
John Nelson with Dr. Jitter.
Thank you, John.
Here with the good doctor.
Let's talk about it.
I know too many turnovers for your liking, but you got an eight point lead.
Well, that's basically what it is.
We could take care of basketball.
We'd be in very good shape.
But like you said, we've got an eight point lead now on defensively.
You clamp down on them, they're getting some looks, but you're also getting the rebounds back, not giving them second chance.
Right.
And that's very important when you're playing a team like this.
And good luck in the second half.
Thanks for your time.
Doctor Jeter has an eight point lead when he and the good doctor is happy about that.
We're going to take a break.
When we come back, Gil Tyree, we'll take you through halftime for the next generation of telescopes.
A new quest begins.
Can we see the invisible go back further in time?

Halftime festivities underway here and making you see the score at the bottom of your screen and of course Wilkinson right now with an eight point spread over Terrell County.
As we introduce you, we welcome you to our halftime festivities here at the Macon Coliseum, that center plex.
And of course, we have an outstanding basketball game going on right now.
We hope to crown another champion a little later on.
With me, the outstanding principals of these two fine schools on my left, Douglas Bell, and on my right, Wayne Gasaway, I'm going to start with you, Wayne, first of all.
And clearly, Wilkinson County has represented here today.
You've got to be excited about what's going on in the first half.
I am.
I think we started off turning the ball over at the very beginning, but we kind of after that first time out, we settled down, had a good run there for a while.
And I think even though we're eight points ahead going into this half, it's still going to be a heck of a ballgame and it's going to go down to the wire, no doubt about that.
Let's talk about what you guys have going on in Wilkinson On the academic side, you got to be excited about that.
Yes.
You know, traditionally we are known for basketball.
We've got 40 years or more of a good basketball team, but we're also perfecting our football program.
As you know, we were in the Final Four this past football season.
And a lot of times people think that that's what we're all about in athletics, but we're real proud of our athletic program.
But we're also striving for academic excellence.
We're constantly trying to increase our graduation rate.
We're constantly trying to better our test scores.
And now we're just in there every day trying to have quality lesson plans and quality lessons to produce some good students.
That works in kind of high school as well.
Of course, the leadership program, you and your outstanding staff over there and has to make you feel good to see how many people came for this basketball game.
You guys are here and forth and it's that way every year.
Wilson County supports our athletics, especially our basketball program.
We probably got half of Wilkerson County in this game today, No doubt about that.
Wayne, thank you.
I will move over now to its counterpart, Douglas Powell.
You've got to be happy you got to be in courage.
You guys made a run.
It's still second half to play late.
We started off on the foul ball with a pretty good first half.
We were down by eight points.
But this is a team that overcome adversity.
So certainly you can count on them if you want to start a ahead rings.
And I think they did.
And when the foul mouthed the blood of the victory, you know, I was talking to two women about Wilkinson County.
You know, the Green Wave Nation came in fourth to their here a little bit.
I think that we have more than a thousand of our Greenway fans here on the day.
And certainly the attitude back at home has been great, support has been great and it's just doing a lot of great things for our school as well as our community locals.
Let's talk about what you guys got going on.
You know, academically it's not all about athletics.
It barely got nothing.
It absolutely we feel very good about where we are academically.
Over the last five years, we've graduated more than 90% of our senior class from during graduation rate form.
The state was 82% for last year.
So we just feel like we've got a lot of good things that are happening.
I want to ask you this.
You think you guys can make a comeback and make this a basketball game?
Absolutely.
We are a comeback team.
Any trash you want to talk that way?
No.
I think it's going to be a good game and make the best may the best team win.
All right, gentlemen, we say thank you and we wish you both the very best.
And thank you for joining us here at halftime, Wayne Gasaway and, of course, Douglas Bell from Terrell County.
Now, what first half highlights, we send it to courtside and of course, the great John Wilkerson and Fletcher Proctor.
Gentlemen, it is all yours.
thank you very much, Gil Tyree.
And we we thought we going to get a track meet.
That's exactly what we ended up getting.
FLETCHER Yeah.
Both of these teams have really after a kind of a sluggish start, gotten things going.
It's about the midpoint of that first quarter where they both just excited to explode.
You've got Thomas finally finding the range.
Alvin Dupree With great athleticism off the bench.
It has been Jarvis Williams and you see right here it was number 23.
Thomas, one of the stars of the game, kind of getting things going and then lining up was Marcus Dotson and then Dimarzio Stubbs.
He was feeling it too.
That's when they really the action started getting intense was when they started hitting from the outside, finishing the break by there by Charles Brown.
And then all of a sudden Wilco went crazy inside Alvin Dupree with the jam and then Jarvis Williams Yeah, they both decided to use their height around the rim to explode the basket.
Right before the half, though, Paul made a nice little push.
He had six points in that second quarter, and you see right there how he kind of gets his team going.
Terrell Hall wanted to get that team, get that spark going for Terrell Terrell County.
There's your halftime statistics and the turnover margin for Wilkinson County, they're up by eight for 12 turnovers.
They got to cut that down.
Look at all those second chance opportunities, 29 shots for Terrell County yet they're only shooting 28%.
That's got to go up in the second half.
And Dimarzio subs, they points two rebounds three assists Terrell Hall with eight points two rebounds.
We got the second half coming your way from the Macon Coliseum.
We're going to crown the state champion and boys clutch single.

We're back at the Macon Coliseum, eight point lead by Wilkinson County.
As we start the third quarter.
John Nelson caught up with Terrell County head coach John Davis.
All right, here we go.
Here with the coach on the other side of things.
Let's talk about that first half.
You had a lot of shots.
Just they weren't falling.
Yes, we played a poor first half this time.
We haven't seen that before.
My shooters that usually make the shots, they won't fall.
And then we're going in, but they run now.
We need to just keep our composure and keep our character.
We can get it all back in one shot.
It's going to take our time and then we're going to just chipping away one shot at a time.
All right, good luck in the second half.
Thanks for your time.
Appreciate that.
Okay.
Fletcher Proctor, what is your adjustments that need to be made by both teams?
Well, Wilko, we saw in the stats a few minutes ago 12 turnovers.
They've got to cut down on those turnovers, protect the ball, protect this lead.
If they can go shot for shot with Terrell County, they'll win.
They're up by eight right now.
On the flip side, Terrell County has to take advantage of the second half or the second chance opportunities.
They had far more shots in the first half than Wilkinson County, but they were shooting at a worse percentage, fewer baskets made.
They've got to take advantage when they get those second chance opportunities underneath the basket.
I thought Terrell Hall was doing a good job toward the end of the first half of trying to pick up the pace for Terrell County and get something going for them.
Yeah, Hall did a great job six points in that second quarter.
He's got to continue to step up at Stubbs with a pass in the Williams.
Nothing there for him.
Stubbs thinks about it.
Foul inside I believe they got Williams using the body a little too aggressive down there, trying to open up some space underneath the basket.
He was.
He just hit checked.
He hit it, that's all.
It was.
The first foul on Williams first team foul for Wilkinson County.
Let's see if Terrell County can take advantage of this break.
Yet another turnover, though, for Wilko that goes it gets the keys to our second half Harvey and wide and Williams again just got to quit fouls on Jarvis Williams he's got to he's got to forget about that foul at the other end and right here he's just a little two hands he tries to go across the arms and hardy It doesn't stop the big man though Harvey All six foot one of them gets the ball up and in the basket, chance for a three point play using that backside to back in on Jarvis Williams and he completes the three point play big man some nice touch on the free throw nice yes and they're down by five and you know that's exactly what Terrell County needed a little positive to happen.
But at the halftime locker room and there's a turnover and a timeout a quick timeout called as a Trey Buchanan came up with a loose ball and Terrell County had the presence of mind to call timeout and keep that possession.
Well Terrell County this is what they need to do You heard coach John Davis talk about it at halftime with Nelly you know they can't get it all back in one shot but what can they do?
Continue to force turnovers and take advantage on the other end of the floor?

The state single-A state championship game.
And it's been a fun one so far.
Harvey in trouble gets it out to Buchanan and Williams is on the bench with his two fouls to take it down with a three in the leads down to two.
Right now, both players on the inside for Wilco have two fouls, Dupree and Williams the way it is on the bench.
This is the run.
The Green Wave needed.
Wilkinson And there's a turnover and a foul blocking foul.
I think they just called it out of bounds.
Out of bounds.
You're correct.
It looked like the the one official who maybe would have called it was watching the ball try to careen into a cheerleader, but just out of bounds, shutting up no good rebound by Brown.
All the momentum now on the green wave side and the crowd that's made it up from Dawson, Georgia.
There's Terrell County now a90 run entry pass turnaround jumper no good by where in the loose ball corralled by Marshawn Jones he'll push it up Here's McCormick for three Jeremy McCormick with his second three pointer six points today That's his first basket since the first quarter.
It comes at a big time.
McCormick We know him as a slasher, but twice tonight he stepped back on the three point line and connected from long range.
BUCHANAN There's an entry pass to where we're backing down on for Sean Jones to Kobe and where that gives him nine.
And he leads his team just to Kobe, where he had 16 against Winfield Academy to lead the green wave as well stops and one foul on Dakota in where his second team first and starts would not be denied here it goes right down the lane draws the foul.
They were attempting to draw the charge with the green late unsuccessful on Gordon line try to make it a three point play Damasio stuffs his first player double figures tonight and can't connect on the three point play Harvey on the rebound Charles Brown Try this far I'm sorry that's Terrell Hall trying to slow it down and a foul away from the ball called on the Trey Buchanan you screen yet the sophomore guard just tried to you know throw his hip out a little bit to give his player little or his teammate a little more room And the official was all over.
You know, I get the sense that Terrell County had that little run.
But Wilkinson carries on a good job, at least controlling that bleeding special, that defense that did a nice job down low, you know, to kind of force a few more turnovers of their own Wilkinson County.
But it takes a little bit to the reach in foul called on Terrell hall that'll be his first team third they've been very deliberate ever since their lead was trimmed all down to two points.
It stretched to a five point margin now.
But yeah, they're using their ball handlers, make sure what they want to do on offense before they go about executing.
There's that two three matchup zone for another turnover but stops and then has enough the way by Pickens a two on one finish it's Terrell Hall hall now into double figures and he took advantage of his defense his aggressive play he was in right place at the right time to help his teammate.
He can hand out three lead by Wilco.
There's stops quick first step, can't get it down for the fourth floor.
Ends up in the hands of Marshawn Jones.
Not there but there's Elliott Harvey, and he's making his big presence now in the second half.
They really are attacking this defense, going all the way down, really using their point guards to penetrate.
And I figured that they would try to use a little more at their size down low, try to get out.
DUPREE Post it up.
But the big man 44 Harvey having none of it is a drive by Buchanan This is out for a three ball out there and Stubbs with the rebound just kind of become the Stubb's show for Wilco when they're on offense.
Patience by the Warriors.
Yeah, very deliberate when they're in their offense, as are my Thomas driving and he's fouled Buchanan now and you say John, when they were building their lead early on in that first half when they did, they got out to an 11 point lead.
At one point, it looked like they were it was more Timmy this looks a lot of individual creation on offense for them.
Maybe they think they've got to try to find a way to go back to involving one another, because that's how the green wave has managed to come back.
Second fouled you came in fourth teen foul to Moore and Wilkinson County will be shooting as a drive by Raymond Thomas.
Raymond Thomas gives him six points not saying it's not working and works out for Thomas, but it just seems like Terrell County doing a little better job of of moving the ball on offense.
Gene Hackman from Hoosiers would be proud.
Yep.
They got to make four passes for you Think about shooting as Buchanan drives in he's hacked inside may have been Raymond Thomas pre by the right time Jeremy McCormick with his first 13 foul and here's Buchanan right there going to the basket You see that Yeah it was McCormick who picked up the foul and a nice aggressive move by Trey Buchanan at the sophomore guard.
And he's kind of hobbling a little bit.
You see it.
It looks like a bump took a shot in the hip kidney area.
Is he going to be able to shoot these free throws?
That's kind of what they're discussing right now.
And he's going to try.
Ball's been headed to him.
So he has to.
And the pain might have been affected.
That shot as he came up short.
And it looks like Coach Davis is going to at least substitute for court.
Darius Greer set the check in.
Take a look at John Davis, one of two for the trade.
You can quickly get Kadarius dreary end of.
And let's go to break here at Macon with Wilkinson County up 37 to 32.

Terrell County is looking at the hip hop love Trey Buchanan the man Jon Nelson was right over there and he's saying that it's the right hip and he's being worked on currently behind the table, kind of rubbing it up a little bit, doing a little massaging action, trying to get him back going.
He's one of the starters.
He's an important player.
He's their defensive stopper, too.
In fact, Jon Davis says he's the type is going to get in your grill.
Yeah, he'll be a a loss for Terrell County if he can't make it back in for Darius Greer's checked in for Terrell County one there a check that Javonte Peters has checked in There's a good shot of it right there.
They're working on it behind the table over there trying to get him back.
And he's one of their best perimeter defenders.
John Wilkerson, Fletcher Proctor, John Nelson, with you from there, making policy in the boys state championship game.
He passed away.
We saw Wesleyan win their eighth state championship earlier, fall out of bounds.
It'll go to Wilkinson County.
We got four more games right after this one.
Yeah.
Marathon day here on GPB.
Two girls follows us when we're done and a near steal by Terrell Hall with Hassan Jones able to recover the Manziel starts working it looks to him I was gonna say Wilkinson County coaching staff has talked to him during that time out saying let's move the ball a little bit and it doesn't result in any points.
They looked a lot more active on the offensive end and Devonte Peters with a rebound Here's Hall shot by Peters not there in the board by Alvin Dupree Skye he get that rebound once again Alvin the free six score but he's probably got a vertical as well over dunking ability and as he put together what do you think he's going to look like Alvin Dupree in shoulder pads for the Wildcats put him on the goal line in an h-back or a tight end position.
He's going to be able to go up there and certainly help out whoever's playing quarterback.
He's clearing a path for the basketball team.
Inside is a beautiful move by Terrell Hall that gives him ten or 12 and 3935, Wilkinson County, nearly 8 to 3.
We asked him in Hall is keeping his team in there.
But look at his you look he's getting ready to check back in.
BUCHANAN Thomas hits the little jumper, the Trey Buchanan set the check in.
Apparently they've got that hip back in, back in working order.
Terrell Hall, he's trying to take over this game.
Beautiful rebound by Brown.
He's stripped inside by the Manziel stuffs.
That's what one thing Charles Brown is going to need to get a little more aggressive down there on the offensive side.
Call for the ball he's a listen is a small forward or a wing and you see right here he's got the ability to grab a rebound.
Good He goes back up immediately, draws the foul.
Brown makes the first he does.
You take a look at the Trey Buchanan checking back in.
You know Brown is really found his stroke in the state tournament at ten points against Greenville seven points five rebounds against Turner County, 25 points, four three pointers in their win over Montgomery County in the first round.
Charles Brown, a valuable piece.
You see him make another free throw before a timeout is called.
He's got to get going for Terrell County.
Terrell County, of course, located in Dawson, Georgia.
They've got a large contingent here from Dawson.
In fact, I reckon Dawson and Irvington, both towns are pretty much abandoned today for this for this state championship game.
First look see town because their fan base, the blue storm and we've heard them behind us the whole game.
Yeah they really had invaded the gym is what they that's what they wanted to do with a minute 46 left they like the fact that their team currently up four points.
Well you mentioned after this one is the two a girl state championship game here for Macon Coliseum and the battle Norcross the greater Atlanta Christian Lady Spartans take on the Buford Bulls I'm sorry, the battle of Gwinnett County.
I am a little ahead of myself there.
The for Lady Wolves in the girls state championship game or just spin move by McCormick Not there.
what a follow by machine Jones Jones is so athletic is listed is only 511.
He can get up in the air though he's got the abilities.
He kind of plays like a six foot four shot no good by Marquez Dotson He's not come on track yet.
And again he was a key cog in that win over Woodfield Academy Wednesday night.
Yeah even if you're 511 if you could jump it sky you play a little bit bigger than you are Thomas look in the drive thinks better up there's a drive by Jones challenged by Dotson and Dotson draws the foul and he was strong enough to actually hold onto the ball despite it being kind of blocked right back out of school was able to get the shot off and draw the two the two attempts from the free throw line.
Second foul on Dotson team foul.
See right here here comes the block.
He's still strong enough to push it off.
Sean Jones at the line averages about ten points per game for the Warriors 78% from the line left.
He put it right up and through He's got one more coming 511 senior coach Dr. Jeter calls him his defensive stopper.
Nice numbers already seven points for rebound and a perfect trip for the Sean Jones.
It's an eight point lead for the Warriors, four points in the first half.
He's got four this quarter.
He's helped his team extend that lead back to eight under a minute long jumper by Brown Charles Brown with a three cutting the lead to five and the green people are asking Brown to just step up offensively he just did right there and now he's helping place tight defense McCormick dribbling everywhere almost hit it rebound by the Alvin Dupree How many offensive boards is Dupree gone today and you see right there just he was able to out leap to green wave players but his team's going to hold for the final shot down the 10 seconds pass.
Who's going to take it?
It's Jones not there Williams battling for the board.
It's out of bounds.
And Tyrell County will get possession with 3 seconds to go in the third quarter.
And if they can get something going here, they've got to try to push it up to maybe about half court if possible, try to get something going.
Dotson long running one hander almost.
no to lift it the rooves off the place if that were to gone in we've played three quarters of basketball here in the Boise state championship game and plus see the way it's Wilkinson up five five for the next generation of telescopes a new quest begins Can we see the invisible go back further in time reveal mysterious forces shaping the cosmos, hunting the edge of space broadcast on this program is made possible in part by the following.

Welcome back to the Mic and Coliseum, a five part Wilkinson County lead as we enter the fourth and Fletcher for Terrell County.
Charles Brown eight points in that third quarter.
He needs to keep that momentum going in the fourth.
You know I asked them if they're going to get back in the game.
You need to keep going.
I asked for more points from him for Terrell County and he delivered eight points that quarter, including a long three pointer.
And for Wilkinson County, Jarvis Williams needs to make his presence known.
Yeah, he had seven points in the second quarter.
He was scoreless there, picked up two fouls, didn't play a lot.
He's really got to make himself known on the offensive end and a strip of Elliott Harvey out of bounds will stay with the green wave Terrell County trying to win their first state championship in 27 years for Wilkinson County, it's been four years since the 2017 one state championship.
Here's an entry pass in the heartland.
The script by Stubbs recovered by Hall not there Harvey in the mix with Williams and Stubbs and the ball be out of bounds and I'll stay with the green ways.
Yeah, Wilkinson County is going to be able to throw Williams and Dupree down there against Harvey.
Both of those guys at least six four.
I think Williams measures in at six six is there is there's some tall trees down there for elite hard to be meandering in all trying to break down Ramon Thomas a foul on Thomas I think coach do you realize is that that's what Paul wants to do he's comfortable driving to the basket and so you see a good shot of him right here driving.
Well, he's going to be going right up against, in this case, Thomas and Williams.
And don't forget, Dupree is lurking down there.
15 foul, Wilkinson County, third foul.
And you got go on and remind Thomas he got to hit free throws especially in the fourth quarter when the game is on the line like this one, especially with what's involved and a nifty trip there for Terrell Terrell Hall.
I think it's a smart move by coach to bring in both of his tall guys down low and both up play with a couple of fouls.
Jones flies in for Sean Jones with ten and it's a seven point Will Cody if Wilco is only counting on his defense.
Boy, this is a bonus today.
Double figures.
Look at Harvey back inside where battling for the boards foul inside could be Williams it is on Jarvis Williams it's his third personal deep six check that Alvin to play on the foul That's a handful of fouls though for Dupree that's one thing we're to keep an eye on Here's the fourth quarter it goes on whether Teeter wants to snuff those guys out, whether he's going to play him with the high foul count.
Otero County is getting some opportunities at the line.
There's not capitalize on them in the fourth quarter.
There's another empty trip stubs with Paul on him.
What a great matchup that's been today.
Here's Williams driving on Harvey draws the foul the basket I was huge for Jarvis Williams and you see right there Jarvis Williams is so capable of putting the ball in the basket on the offensive side if he can stay out of foul trouble, he is really going to be an impact player this fourth quarter.
It's set in the second quarter and you see how explosive he could be going right over.
He had much shorter.
He just takes advantage of his size at six six.
He can handle the ball very well.
First, we mentioned he has a scholarship offer offered to Seattle University.
Harvey's called on that foul to spread to six.
He admits it's a long way from home.
He's not sure whether he wants to travel all the way out there.
Very engaging guy as well as he connects the three point play.
His favorite class is economics.
He carries a 3.8 grade point average.
There's other schools interested.
There's his numbers ten points, five rebounds.
He could be one of those late sleepers out there.
That sign late.
There's two signing classes, of course, at George Aaron.
It's definitely college basketball and he could be the recipient of a get situation with Sean Jones on the breakaway and the momentum has clearly swung over to the Warriors and the Blue Star is up and loud.
They certainly are storming.
And you see right here at the head of the fray, Jones is going to lay it in a little kiss off the window.
They get it started.
Dupree grabs the board, fights out a few people, nice outlet pass and Jones handles the rest for Shane Jones.
He's known as a defensive stopper on this team.
He just made an offensive show right there.
He may be the defensive stopper, but right now he's leading all scorers out there.
He's got 12 on the day.
They've got a couple of players in double figures.
Wilkinson County has a nice balanced scoring attack, but right now he's leading all with 12 and seven on run to begin this fourth quarter.
And again, this is a program, this is a championship program, at least that's what they call themselves since 19 three, they have been on that level.
They've won state championships in both Double-A and single-A.
The last one coming in 2007, Double-A title in 2000, two back to back in 99 and 2000, all by the tutelage of Doctor Aaron Jeter.
It's 13 years at Wilco and they're looking to hang another in the dungeon.
Well, they were undefeated last year, too.
They ran into Terrell County, ended their season, and they're undefeated again and they're beating Terrell County.
They're hoping that this result is a little different.
A sense of urgency now for the green wave.
This is where Charles Brown needs to get in the flow.
There's Dotson and Dotson hits his second three of the game.
That's what Dotson can do.
He's like a microwave.
He gets hot in a hurry.
McCormick tries to answer no.
And we're battling with two play for the rebound and where it wins that battle.
Here's Terrell Hall.
Nice seal off on the block.
look at that.
Pass.
And drawing the foul is the Trey Buchanan.
You can he's got a chance to put some points on the board with the clock stop at 617.
Nice play by hall Drew everybody and was able to dish off and his teammate Buchanan who was injured in the third quarter, is back now at the free throw line second foul on demands Yo Stubbs that's the seventh team foul so Terrell County Terrell County will be shooting the rest of the way.
Sophomore hits his first three.
He looked a lot better on that stroke than he did his last time when his hip was hurting.
And here's Jarvis Williams checking back in to Manziel stubs will take a rest.
So important score with the clock stopped one of two for Buchanan.
They're one of six in this fourth quarter from the free throw line Matt fresh causing problems for Wilkinson County but on the way is the Sean Jones for Sean Jones just putting his foot on the throat of Terrell County.
He's got six this fourth quarter There's a drive by Buchanan, a three by Dotson, not this time.
And Jarvis Williams comes away with the loose ball.
Paul actually had a shot at his own wide open three pointer to defer to Dotson.
They come up empty and a reach around Terrell Hall.
That'll be his second team, seventh a ten point advantage right now for Wilko, a chance to add to that lead Wilco.
It's got to be take it about making all the free throws they can down the stretch and just playing tight solid defense Thomas Drummond Thomas the team's best score at the line 79% and perfect on that trip.
He's now the fourth player for Wilkinson County into double digits.
Quickly, here's Buchanan with Trey Buchanan Hall trying to break down Raymond Thomas.
Here's Hall with a beautiful pass from where he'll draw the foul.
Looks like they got Jeremy McCormick on that one.
Paul is going to go to the line once again.
He's one of two from the line, his fourth quarter.
He has a three of five on the line on the day.
Third foul on McCormick, 18 foul, put Terrell Hall on the line.
It's John Davis, head coach at Terrell County.
You take a look at the free throws 12 of 20 now for Wilkinson come first will tell Kelly for five and a half to go Williams breaks that press for Sean Jones struggled is challenging 14 points for the Sean Jones and the lead is eight.
And one thing we talked about Wilco has to protect the ball and eliminate those turnovers they have this fourth quarter big three by Jacoby and where he cut the lead to nine the 12 point lead before that here's McCormick easily breaking the press in a three on two trying to feed Williams Well I'm expecting it a three second call as Williams is in the lane way too long.
Well, as soon as I say they've eliminated the turnovers, they turn it over right there?
But, you know, the coach coach here has to feel good because his team is actually getting around this press, getting around the full court press.
The Terrell County's to yesterday.
Brown he's at the hot hand he got pumped we release that shot by the combine where was there to clean it up and he needed the full court press.
He got that sense of urgency flying in his Jones in a blocking foul called on Terrell County could have gone either way and they give the advantage to the offensive player going line will be the hottest player on the court Jones Terrell Hall committed his third foul yes three for tall really not any danger right now of fouling out you've got to keep him out of the floor.
It's a team down by seven the Sean Jones the offensive star today for the Wilkinson County Warriors looks cool.
Calm up there at that free throw straight and gives him 17 for the senior nine this quarter.
How has he stepped up.
Wow what you talk about cleaning house is 11 seniors on this Wilkinson County team but you know doctor tutor doesn't refill he loads there's a lot of talent in that ninth grade level down Irvington perfect trip for the Sean Jones he's got ten this court gives him 18 and a timeout called by Wilkinson County.

John Wilkerson.
Fletcher Parker.
John Nelson from the Making Coliseum in Macon, Georgia.
Four and a half to go in the fourth quarter.
This single-A boys state championship game.
Earlier we saw Wesleyan win eighth state championship, defeating Pace Academy after this greater Atlanta Christian search for the girls to a state championship.
A real settle score here first and a foul inside on Raymond Thomas as.
The Trey Buchanan was driving the paint.
Yeah, Trey Buchanan are luxury Buchanan, one of two hits to a fourth goal line for the game.
And check that going on will be after all.
And Harlan's really kind of stepped it up.
He knows what he has to do to get his team back into this contest.
And he's at the line right now.
This is the front end.
Yeah.
Unfortunately, he knows me stupid.
He just can't explain.
With a 61% free throw shooter an empty trip.
And that's.
That's huge.
But a loose ball and Alvin Dupree will secure it as we near the four minute mark and that 2 to 1 zone press easily broken by McCormick who looks to drive on We're not there and the rebound secured by Marcus Dodson's here here's territorial Hall and a13 by Brown.
Charles Brown That's Brown's first basket in this fourth quarter.
He scored eight that third quarter.
He's got to continue to keep it going Jones and a blocking foul called and the Kobe and we're he's not happy about it You see the coach right there telling him they keep the emotions in check here's Brown and one end with the three point ball connecting on the other side to going to the line with a six point lead will be who else Marshawn Jones the man has got ten points this quarter and he's got a good free throw for 18 points overall for the senior.
This really stepped it up, has this quote unquote defender.
Sometimes you get offense from an unlikely source and today it's for Sean Jones, 19 points, five rebounds.
They handed out MVP.
He'd get my vote this to go up by eight He's got down 20 points in the contest 12 this quarter.
He's really come out of nowhere this final three Brown again for three not there and just Dalvin Dupree with the rebound that would have gone down make the chip would have come apart then the spark that the green Wade would need double check back into the game for Wilkinson County Now slow things down and run some clock with an eight point lead as we near the three minute mark in the fourth quarter.
There's stops behind the back pass to Dupree Alamo.
Yeah Terrell County's hit six of 18 from long range and one of those main reasons is because Charles Brown has gotten hot Marquez Dotson don't count him out as well Number ten he is capable of pulling the trigger that's been cited Paul dry off class and good on timeout called by town county Terrell Hall needed that one guy to get things going for himself Nice little crossover with the right hand puts it up off glass it connects 15 points for Terrell Hall the 510 senior he's the question leader of this team for the green wave Well get ready for a new season of Georgia outdoors on GPB you'll be able to cozy up with bats hang on the beach with sea turtles and kayak down on the river get wild with nature Watch.
Georgia outdoors is at 830 and 36, only on GPB.
We saw that shot of John Davis in the huddle with this green wave.
What message do you think he's communicating right now?
Let's keep the defensive intensity up because Wilco is a team.
We saw early on in the first half, they had 12 turnovers and they can turn the ball over.
They're prone and susceptible to the turnover keep forcing it and forcing it.
If we can get a turnover, let's take advantage.
And not that our free throws guys, we're only three of ten from the line It's McCormick out of bounds and stay with the Warriors You see right there you saw it Dotson at least for just a second in your screen.
He's had two from long range today.
They've really got to try to get him going once again in the backcourt that stops and throws it away.
And turnover, one lateral count, you can take advantage of a take.
That's again, what Coach Davis was saying.
If we force them into bad situations, they're likely to turn it over.
Now, though, the green wave must take advantage where under three to play it, said press philosophy of forcing your opponent into bad decisions.
It's one reason why no one, Richardson was so successful at Arkansas and that been passed on down to the high school level using that press where after the Trey Buchanan here's where I look in the drive against the big fella and does where put it up and in I think where thought he was going to try to outlet pass it reach in on Terrell Hall that's his fourth.
Yeah.
I think where he's looking for maybe some behind the arc no one was there so we had to put it up off glass.
It connected That's real hall So I have to be careful.
I can't play as aggressive now in the last 224 and the wrong man for Terrell County going to the line that's Jones he's the right man if you're a warrior fan if you're part of the blue storm, this is the exact bag you want to see on the line.
20 points today for Rashaan Jones, the aforementioned defensive stopper from Dr. Jeter is six of six on the line today.
Not sure about that diagnosis for Doctor Who because he's been on an offensive show today for the Warriors, this is the front end.
You've got to keep 20,000 Terrell County, that's the broadcaster.
Jake's, of course, was six and six for four in the quarter.
His missed one.
Welcome to the fraternity went up to 21 points for the Sean Jones.
Still plenty of time don't need to rush things then flashing out his Marquez Dotson off the screen and Brown with a hot hand for three points take it that one rebounding for the board here winds up in the hands of the Manziel starts it now he's got two on one now beautiful layup for Shaun Jones 23 points he went reverse he helped his teammate out and that's what sometimes basketball is all about Paul with a big three for the green wave close to him in the house Lots of pressure back under Jones Has he up for the Warriors?
There is no doubt about it.
Jones is going coast to coast.
Call the one three No.
Three bound buddy.
Three and the Warrior fans are starting to feel it.
A calming a minute 15 to go six point lead for Wilko and Jones is fouled Jones is fine with that.
He's going at the line.
He's nearly perfect today he's got a chance to six point game with 111 right now Chance that puts the thing into three possessions which is huge if you're warrior fan six point lead the Sean Jones 27 points five rebounds a huge afternoon for the senior guys One of those names doesn't it?
Just a nice left handed shooter he's shooting the will co warriors to a possible state championship win 11 to go perfect trip all time out by Wilkinson county LaShawn Sean Jones has been the hero for the Wilkinson County warriors and the blue storm is standing up and applauding in approval.
He's got nearly 20 points this fourth quarter.
It's incredible.
He had eight points coming into this game, are into this quarter and he's going for nearly 20.
Wow.
Well, you need a big time player to show up in the fourth quarter, especially when a state championship is on the line.
But Sean Jones has been that guy for the Warriors.
I want to remind you, after this game coming up, as the girls state double AA state championship game and it's a dandy here at the making The Lady Spartans of Greater Atlanta Christian take on Lady Wolves of Buford in a Gwinnett County battle.
So stay us guys.
We've got so four more basketball games coming your way from Macon.
Wish we had four yesterday at the great center that.
We're still talking about that five eight championship game in the boys between Milton and Norcross for the classic game that was for more coming your way here on GPB.
Stay with us all afternoon Settle in and join some high school hoops.
And I'm sure the graphics department loves the two way matchup.
It's different.
And if you saves on the bill, that's a spin move by Brown loses it and it'll stay with Terrell County.
I think that's the first thing that Jones said that hasn't Jones his way He actually went off of his knee out of bounds but otherwise 19 points this fourth quarter for Bishan Jones he'll probably let that one slide Here's Brown and the hot hand from three point range and a huge three there by Marcus Dotson and gives him nine under a minute for court relentless pressure.
Terrell Cowan is having a gamble but stops a foul called on the trade your cannon penalty his third smart move by Dimarzio Stubbs the senior that's what a senior does He could have driven it for the easy layup but what did he We looked up at the scoreboard, saw a five point lead, less than a minute to play, pulled it out.
Randolph Three more seconds off the clock and is going to go to the line for the chance to put this thing on ice.
Swish And reality is starting to set in what the Green Lane fantastic season for Terrell County stop for the perfect trick It takes a victory lap and falls.
that went all the way around, didn't it?
Quick fast it needed and a foul on Roman Thomas.
Now give three free throws to Charles Brown.
So Charles Brown, the man has been hitting from downtown.
He's a guy that is as soon as the ball is going to end up in his hands or Dotson, since he knew they were going to fire three, he did almost immediately since the cutting of this lead.
Again, clock stop, 40 seconds left.
He's got three three this coming right here.
We really got to take advantage.
Meralco is taking advantage of the free throw line.
Terrell County is that Wilkinson County's 21 to 2515 points five rebounds for the senior small forward.
You'll get another.
Here's an interesting stat though four of 12 in this fourth quarter from the free throw line eight points missed.
What are they down by?
Take a look at that.
you hate to play that game, right?
You hate to play that.
Now, we got a stoppage in action here.
Six players out there for Terrell County that would help in the comeback.
I think they were trying to signal because checking it or trying to check it was McCormick or Wilko.
Okay.
And they said, no, it's okay.
I'll wake up five three way.
It's up.
I guess there's so many fans like they have in hockey One of three and he threw with the rebound just had his jersey stack from under him That would be pass interference next year.
Yes right.
Yeah.
Better get used to his some defenses he's in the face for 1310 from the free throw line for Terrell County.
that's a dagger they're going to look at that one here in the fourth quarter alone.
I need I know on the flip side, you know, you take a look at Wilco.
They're 21 to 25 for the game.
That is big time ice water in the veins for the Warriors.
Duke free with ten boards, six points and a throwback hairstyle.
Not there.
Why do I have Grant Hill visions from Duke when I see that?
Yeah, he's got the hairdo That's actually pretty popular.
I've seen on a bunch of players this year.
Try to bring it back to old school.
Empty trip there for Duke.
Three down to 35 seconds and a long three by Harris Dotson.
That's four threes for him, 12 points three point game the 27 seconds were in your free throw shooting contest.
Now it's a one possession game It went on the town and you know coach John Davis is over there coaching hard ten this thing is an over especially we've got Brown and we've got Duncan Dotson by the way it's gotten really hot this fourth quarter He's got nine McCormick is a 71% free throw shooting.
This is his first tip line tornado and big free throws for the Warriors.
Yes, calm, cool, collected one of those 11 seniors on the Wilco roster staring down that from him.
A perfect trip for Jermaine McCormick.
It's a two possession game and a timeout on the floor.
Stephenson County still tied though for Terrell County.
They've got a timeout left they're down by five and with the Sooners stay hands with Brown with Dotson and take it out stick around.
Yes and they've been successful getting those quick shots and now it's imperative because they don't have a whole lot of time left.
But then again, do they really need to go for the three point bomb?
Yeah, they could get a two pointer and get a good defensive stop.
Well, that's what's so important about McCormick's last free throw.
I think if it's if it's a four point game, I think yes, you can still drive and try to get the free throw made because he hit that second free throw, though.
I think that's going to put a lot of pressure on the green way.
I mean, if you go down there scoring a two, you'll need them to miss both the free throws on this.
Hit the floor, two buckets go there hot tonight, nine of 24.
They're not afraid of the three pointer.
That's for sure.
Tony.
Over the flip side of Wilkinson County, why not commit a foul on the floor if they know you're going to shoot a three?
Is it your fault if not fouled in the act of shooting then they get two shots and to boot there for 13 from the free throw strike this fourth quarter Quickly the trade you can bring it up the floor there's Dotson a long three not Dan Brown he wants to bomb it does nothing but air and a whistle.
They're going the other way.
A foul inside a push off in the clothing where there was 16 seconds to go that might have sealed it for Wilco.
Coach Davis asking who the foul is on.
Unfortunately, it's going to be against his head jakobi anywhere.
And that's the junior Smith foul.
He's going to have to sit for the remainder of the game.
Last 16 seconds.
Wow.
Alvin Dupree goes to the line.
He missed two his last trip, still a two possession game, but with 16 seconds left.
Time is extremely precious now.
There's no debate though Giannis you have to fire three at the other end of the floor if you're the green Wait you stay two possessions Where are you Three has done it on the boards four will come empty Trip Funk gets it again Duke playing with the rebound huge and that may have sealed a state championship for Wilkinson County as the Manziel snubs will go to the line.
Alvin Dupree really helped this team out there.
He missed the free throws, but what did he do?
He grabbed the rebound and got the ball nearly to one of their best free throw shooting stuffs.
He been perfect from the day and penalties it in and you see right there the man that they want on the free throw stripe not Nate Jones this Denuncias Stubbs it's got a chance to to really put this thing out of reach with a three possession game and a perfect trip making it three possession game and you can pretty much pencil in as a shot is contested and no good, but they're going to hang another banner up at the dungeon.
Wilkinson County here, state champion here in motion.
Well, welcome there.
Start in the middle.
The court The blue storm has invaded the Macon Coliseum and they conquered the conquering heroes, Wilkinson County.
And there's Doctor cheater.
Dr. Aaron Jeter.
That's his fifth state championship.
We're going to go for a break.
We're gonna have a trophy presentation on the floor when we come back to make the for the next generation of telescopes, a new quest begins.
Can we see the invisible go back further in time?

All right, We're back here at Macon.
Another champion crowned will coach 75, Charle County, 68 and four.
Dr. Aaron Jeter, we call him the good doctor.
Another state championship is fifth at will Wilco.
And of course, I'm joined today again by Herb White and also Scott Genomics.
We'll get their take on this basketball game after the award presentation.
And of course, the trophy.
We'll go back to the Wilco again.
And for the presentation, let's go to my colleague Mark Harmon, who's now down in the podium for the presentation.
Thank you, Gail.
We want to congratulate Wilkinson County, putting a star on top of an undefeated season as they win the class single AA title put, the trophy presentation.
We have the executive director of the DHS say Dr. Ralph Swearingen.
Thank you, Mark.
What a great ball game.
I'm going to ask our friends from State Farm to make the presentation to Wilkinson County.
Come on forward and get your trophy.
On behalf of State Farm, we would like to present the single Class Championship trophy to the Wilkinson County Warriors.
Congratulations, Coach Jeter.
You're holding the trophy.
Hi.
Talk about this team.
Talk about this season.
A perfect season, culminating with the state championship.
I tell you, you couldn't ask for a better season and a better group of kids.
And I tell you what, you think about that blue storm nation up there.
Now, look at Macon and you guys came through with a fantastic performance in the fourth quarter.
Thank you so much.
And I tell you what, I take my hats off to Terrell County.
They play very valiantly.
But I also want to congratulate those Wilkinson County Warriors.
Finally, coach about this team because it is seen you're late and you've got a lot of guys that have played a lot of years under your program and they're going to be graduate and going on, but they win in their senior year.
You talk about a senior class, you always want to talk about your last ball game.
So if you ever remember this group, you can always say they went out with a state championship coach, congratulations very much.
We have a son Jones alongside the sides.
Talk a little bit about you taking over in the fourth quarter, 28 points on the game, 20 at time.
Coach, you told us all our seniors guys the boys so happy want to see to step up.
What does it mean to you as a senior to win the state championship and go out on top?
Mean great, great Look at your fans up there and tell them one more time you did it but they weren't know those.
They don't.
All right.
All right.
Congratulations.
The Wilkinson County 28 in all the class single-A state champions.
We'll send it back now to Gil Tyree.
All right, Mark, thank you.
What wrapped up to be a great season, an undefeated season for the Warriors, the blue Nation and everything that goes on in Wilkinson County.
They have to be pleased with that indie.
And guess what?
Jon Jones was speechless, but they get it done.
And with me right now, Herb White and Scott of it.
So I'm going to ask Scott, first of all, you call this basketball game was an up and down track league.
Yeah.
Well let's start by saying Terrell County deserves a lot of credit.
I think the Green Wave's put out a performance that was about as good as anyone could expect.
With that said, a perimeter dominated team and one that I think had a tough time scoring for Four Corners quarters with Wilkinson County and also dealing with those bigs, Jarvis Williams and Alvin Dupree.
Let's talk about the significance, Scott, of a perfect season.
Dr. Jeter talked about that.
This is special.
This puts this team in a special category.
absolutely.
It's a huge accomplishment, especially when you consider the schedule.
They play not just one eight teams, but a tough schedule all around.
And you set it to stay that consistent for an entire season.
Not only did tremendous accomplishment for that team, but a unique one at that.
And of course, for Jon Jones, Herb White has to be the star of Stars.
But this basketball game was lost by Terrell County.
They just couldn't hit free throws.
Well, you hate to say they lost the game.
I mean, Wilkinson County played well enough win, but certainly Terrell County didn't do themselves any favors missing nine or ten free throws.
And in the last quarter of this ballgame.
And it's just a lesson for those young kids out there watching these ball games.
Slam dunks are great.
Three pointers are great.
If you can step to that free throw line late in the ballgame and make shots, you're going to play some basketball.
For a lot of coaches, you know, we talk about the dominance of the good doctor, Aaron Jeter.
You know, I asked the question to you.
This is as an athletic team, as we've seen, you move up in class ification to challenge them a little bit more.
Well, that'd be a good question to ask the doctor when he if he gets the chance to stop by because, you know, you you got a limited pool of athletes that you're dealing with.
It's amazing.
They have these guys coming out of there.
But you step up and throw your classification and you're not bringing home as many state championships possibly.
So you might want to take a poll of the citizens of Wilkinson County on that one.
All right, Herb, thank you.
And of course, we'll go back to Scott Genova to want to say this.
We look at our next game, the girls, to weigh your thoughts, what should be a great game.
It's two teams that are awfully familiar with each other.
They've already met three times this year.
Buford winning the third and first contest.
Of course, Jaycee got the better of the wolves in that second one.
And this is a young team starts, two sophomores, two freshmen and then one senior.
They have a great senior shooter and Chandler Albertson.
Briana Cummings might be the best freshman in this state.
With that said, they're going to they're going to want to go download of Christina Nelson.
Not only is she their leading score and rebounder, but she's going to have five inches Hunter Reese Williams on the other side.
And also you don't want to get into a perimeter battle with Buford, Andre Carter and Kayla Davis, both committed already to Tennessee, one a sophomore, the other a junior that they're about as good a perimeter players as we'll see in this state on the girls side.
And of course, you're talking about Kayla Davis, daughter of Antonio Davis, who came over from Norcross.
And, you know, she's had she's had an impact.
she's a tremendous player.
She can do it all tall, right?
About six.
Great and very athletic.
Yeah.
Can get to the hole at will also loves to shoot inconsistent from three but if she's hitting her threes watch out.
It's tough to beat Buford when she's on.
All right Scott Donovan thank you.
