And welcome from the Midstate.
It's the second of two St Francis nights, 28 and three on the year.
Green Forest, Christian Eagles 27 and one.
It's the Boys one, a private championship from the Macon Center plex.
We just saw Dante in game one and we're certainly looking forward to the same thing here in Game two.
These are two outstanding basketball teams.
My partner Larry Smith, back with me again.
Looking forward to game two.
Man, Hit it.
I just hope we can equal what happened in game one.
I'll tell you what.
For the faint of heart, you may not be able to handle it because that was the outstanding Saint Francis, the Lady Knights, the girls team.
What a great job they did.
Winning the game, winning shot there at the buzzer, the turnover.
And we've talked about so much, so much great competition here this weekend.
And if that's the way we're starting, we've got a very special day coming up here and make it all right.
When we look at this one, Larry, here's my question to you.
How do you overcome height with height?
But not a good question.
You just go at it.
And not only that, but talent and talent.
This is a very both these teams are extremely talented.
When you look at, again, what they're taught, what they're looking at.
We start off with Justin Ravenel, the senior four Green Forest Academy.
He's an all-region player, 17 points per game, five rebounds, five assists.
He does so many things.
He's not one of the trades we're going to talk about today, but certainly he's a very tall grass, if you will, in that forest.
Saint Francis on the other side.
Wow.
Do they have players, for starters, are already pretty much guaranteed D-1 deals, as I say.
And Malik Beasley is certainly one of those who is a great basketball player.
Yeah.
To be the best player on this team is something special, but he is the best player in all stater as well.
Malik Beasley already signed to go to Florida State next year and play for the Seminoles in the SCC 22.7 rebounds.
A game also gives it up as well.
Three assists from the wing.
He is just one of several really talented players for the Saint Francis Knights team as they try to come in and get a title here in 2015.
There is no favorite in this 2017 128 and three Nicky Note has got some inside information and is going to be on the sidelines for us.
It's great to be working with Nikki Noto today.
Nikki Hey there, Tommy, Thank you so much.
Now you guys have been talking about the guys out here on the court and how athletic and talented they are.
But let's take a little time and talk about the head coaches, because both teams have head coaches that are in that position for the very first time.
Saint Francis Drew.
Well, he has over 22 years of college experience.
When I asked him what the most difficult part of the transition going from college to high school has been, you guys, he laughed.
He said, it's been about patience, that he's learned how to teach differently.
And with that comes patience.
And, you know, over the course of 22 years, he gained a lot of wisdom from other collegiate coaches.
And he said the biggest thing that he took away from all of them, well, it's all about the work ethic, he tells his guys.
Better yet, he asks them, Are you doing what you need to do in order to control?
If you're not, you're not going to win games, but if you do well, you are going to win games.
And let's talk about brute force.
Nicholas Gruen.
And you know, he had a notable college career.
He's only 26 years old, spent two years at Mississippi State as a teammate, and he told me that how he gained the respect of his players.
He said that it's kind of unspoken in the basketball world that you can walk the walk, but can you talk the talk and what guys that just comes by playing pickup basketball.
He said he spent the first few weeks with those guys playing pickup basketball, showing him he can hoop.
He gained the respect of his players.
So it'll be a lot of fun out here today.
I'm happy to join you guys.
Thank you, Nikki.
Ride the lead and love that Nicky is the real deal as well.
You're going to enjoy her today.
Green Forest.
Kirsten Starters for Region Bank.
Justin Forest, John Agouti, Justin Ravenel, Precious Air and Feisal Abdul Malik.
A lot of owls today folks and for Saint Francis for Regions Bank.
Malik Beasley Kizer Gates, Kris Steele, Josh Coleman, Tobin Jordan Simmons.
You're going to see some of the finest high school basketball players in the state of Georgia in this one, Larry.
He's both.
These two are fun to watch.
I had a good friend of mine this last week is his kids play sports at Landmark Academy in Fairburn.
He said, hey, by the way, I see you going to have this Green Forest game.
You got to watch out for these guys.
I said, Well, I've seen Saint Francis play, too.
He said, Well, you're in for a treat.
I'm just thrilled to have a front front row seat with you, Don.
I'm telling you, Coleman will jump with I seen Francis in the dark and the tip goes to Green Forest in the White with a green and gold trim in a hurry down low and inside batted away and out of bounds is going to be out of bounds.
The green forest.
Come on out and you have guys hitting the floor in the first 15 seconds of the game.
Yeah, I think it's going to be one of those games, as we say, Forest will trigger it in and does out Ravenhill down, under up and in that was a harmless image Abdelmalek Just a defensive breakdown right there by Saint Francis Saint Francis in full court drive and the layup is Good by Coby Jordan Simmons on the break Ravenel all the other way Green forest looking inside Stop pull up downtown three Jonathan Barnett with a bucket that's just in for his his dad James a former Georgia Tech star he hit a whole bunch eight three pointers in that quarterfinal win over Stratford and had a game high 24 Nothing he can hit from three steal left side top of the key now going to pull it back out is Kaiser Gates Kobe Jordan Simmons who has really stemmed up a little bit if I remember it may be the uniform, but it looks a little thinner than he did a year ago.
I agree.
A shot is up and no good to steal with a shot just underway.
5 to 2 green forest, left side, three no good.
Simmons going to clear it out Simmons on the drive driving lane got up scoring and Kobe Jordan Simmons split the seam went right down Main Street Well he does look slimmer than last year but he's got the same game It's only improved he did this last year on the same court.
He sure did.
Forest again from downtown no good rebound going to come out the Saint Francis Malik Beasley shot is up no good rebound Beasley got a foul down under I'm going to take a look here this is Kobe Jordan Simmons already to run out take that and fix that one coast to coast he's six five he's got great hops gets an offensive board, takes it all the way down and he's got that kind of ability rather than over the foul His first free throw is no good.
Malik Beasley at the line We're seeing D1 talent who will be playing next year all through this country coastal Carolina.
If you right basketball players.
Xavier stolen Yeah Xavier stolen away Oh my Malik Beasley Oh just put an exclamation point on the opening couple of minutes.
We're having it all in full court left side forest down in the corner, looking at it, trying to drive the baseline.
Nothing there.
Cross court Ravenel looking inside nothing there Turnaround jumper no rebound pulled out and lost forest whistle and a foul Let's see this high percentage shot the steal and the dunk by Molina Beasley So how about that's maybe the best dunk we've seen I don't know we had Jordan Harris yesterday had some nice dunks he sure did That's right there with him jumping jumpers no good Kizer comes out of there with a three out of five whistle A lot of foul timber falling in the lane and call a charged charging foul You take a look at it and one more look at it right here Chris steal here on the run out It's a good call Nice job right there by Abdul Malik in position underneath all the charge Precious I had the bad out of bounds to that was deadly trying to go through there Green forest has lost 126 capable brook and they in the title game tonight that's how good they are.
So you Francis has lost a miller grove and two out of state teams on holiday tournaments.
Willow Grove of course a six straight five eight champion until this year and moving screen right there offensive foul to turnover Yep go the other way the first foul precious I believe yeah it was on fire his first good look here Kobe Jordan Simmons a lot of division one inch it's already Arizona UConn North Carolina among those have already offered and he is a junior he is in one of the top five point guards in the country who can shoot the ball at times.
That wasn't one of his better.
It was not one of his better choices.
But, listen, when you got that many people desiring your services, you just watch and admire, that's don't criticize Coleman first foul on Coleman and he's going to coastal Carolina.
He would be number 30 in your program and number one in somebodys heart I'm sure mom and dad at least there you go down inside, man.
They're good travel time, traveling on fire.
So Abdul Malik while nice job right now by the Saint Francis defense we talked about again the tall timber underneath the green forest brings a nice job of really trying to negate that as best they can and a good job right there.
Third turnover for Green Forest.
Kobe, Jordan Simmons going to lock it down the floor looking inside turn around jumper no good Gates going to run it in a hurry Forest looking inside Abdul Malik up and no good whistle and yet another foul and the second foul on Coleman and that's not good This is early on in the game and he's the big guy inside at 610 and coach Catlett doesn't quite like the call of course coach has never liked the calls.
We've played half a quarter.
It's been all we thought it was going to be.
Trust me, the intensity level will pick up when we return to the making center.
Plays from the the pick me back right close away and nothing like those inspirational speeches.
First let's go to the coach of Green Forest.
Right.
I know one thing.
If you give your best effort, if you give your best effort, I'll take the result because I know what it'll be.
Everybody gives their best.
So and all I need to do, Garth, is when we get out of here, we go hard, right?
We got to change that to fail until we get the gazelle.
And when it's done, we're gonna be our family.
Gonna be great today.
Yeah.
Oh, you win me.
Well, you win.
You win.
Besides, nobody is going.
Oh, Coach can't let the assistant coach, Coach Griffin giving those inspiring speeches.
And I really think they're with them.
Both of them are with them.
I'm with them.
Even their.
Wow, great passion.
We really appreciate the coaches all week long letting us inside the locker rooms.
There's a peek inside.
That's a very private sanctum.
Such a big moment.
It really is.
And I know a lot of coaches that would say never.
But, you know, these coaches have been more than generous with allowing us to go in and just take a look at what's really happening now, what they're saying to their kids.
It's really hard to motivate kids at this point because they're so motivated.
You want them to kind of stay back a little bit.
You don't want the adrenaline level too high and believe in a mullet, a band good.
This guy is a power forward.
Crosby He is a power forward.
Feisal Abdul Gilmore with good Future.
Gates You going to try to trigger it in here and Boom Lead comes out of the game?
Victor You know, now in the sophomore forward, I think he's a little bigger.
He doesn't give up give up anything in the height department.
Yeah, he's a seven footer off the bench down inside up and good by Gates Kizer Gates with a bucket.
It's a good 9 to 7 now Great pass Christian Top of the key Obuchi right side looking left side five He lost it in traffic and then got it back up man no good foul going to be called air and get chance Anderson I think on the foul no more look at it.
I'm not going to say Gates Kaiser Gates.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
It's his first Justin Forest.
I'm sure his dad's here.
Talked to Field Ratliff earlier John Nelson did in the first game, has two of his daughters playing for that state championship, winning Saint Francis team.
Second shot up, coming.
Yes.
Finally got the good roll, Anderson, going to trigger it and gets to the gates.
It's still down around the block here, down in the corner, up and no too hard.
Follow.
Yes, off the bench, Anderson, with the bucket.
They don't lose anything off the bench, do they?
11 to 8, three point lead to 55 in the initial quarter as far as trying to drive Will Smith pass ahead.
Kobe, then, did he find the camera to the camera?
Find him It a great point.
Camera found him.
We might take another peek at that one at a moment, folks.
The job of the guys in the truck driving out Simmons yet again a high percentage shot from Malik Beasley three over hoping Jordan Simmons and you've got an offensive foul moving screen right there Look at this Tommy check this out Kobe Jordan Simmons coming right at you.
Hello Kobe And then the steal Share the love.
Get it to your teammates.
There you go.
Giving up.
There's Malik the link to see the smile on the legs and love at night Oh man.
Kobe, Jordan Simmons and Malik Beasley putting on a show a testament to Kaiser Games.
That's a good time out right now by great force because Saint Francis they've got the mojo going right now Oh hanging from the rafters and making this Saint Francis Kobe Jordan Simmons Kaiser Gates one that's the defense sleeping eight points now right there Tobias keys in the game right now Saint Francis you want to beat the forest despite its threes before Oh come on love this coming up Spent all night working on this one The trees they've got 716969.
The front line for green force score score score Saint Francis I said 80 points 13 times a season for Green Forest Christian get defense they want to keep it right now at a lower under 60 points They've done that almost every game and the coach going for his sixth state title in his great career trying to get him a half dozen.
But they can get defensive on the texture of keys of the game right there.
We'll see if they can do it.
I love the tree analogy, but let me tell you something.
The trees that we've seen have been looking at these other two guys slamming at home.
Here we go, Malik up and in Malik Beasley through the back door, looking up at the clouds right there.
Beasley Nice job with a year ago now Got to get going You got to run out to see Jordan Here's for a three on one up man No good whistle and a foul and he had Kobe he didn't see him Kobe Jordan Simmons was out there on the run out he was waiting for his opportunity.
That's slam on the left side.
Tell you what, we may have a dunk contest at halftime with these guys.
I'm telling you, Forest with his first foul of the night, I think we said the intensity level was about to pick up.
I don't think we thought it was going to go full gauge here.
It shot up and in you look at very quickly here, less than two and a half minutes ago, this was a75 game.
So Saint Francis has scored 13 points in 11 to 2 run.
We go make it 12, 12 to 2.
Right now, Malik Beasley and Jordan Simmons together are deadly.
You got six, eight and six five coming down the floor running like they're running track almost over back here by Green forest But the defensive intensity right now by Saint Francis that's what's crazy this offense for us with a drive missed the basket whistle and a foul down under Everyone's strapped in for this one we strapped in is a good analogy because I think we both almost came out of our chairs on those two dunks this year, taking our jackets off and lose at the time.
Go sit down and whoosh, just fly.
That's right.
That's right.
This is entertainment at its finest.
Oh, my goodness.
21 to 11, ten point lead time in the blink of an eye.
This this is a close game played on the green for his plays.
All of a sudden this is where Saint Francis likes Justin Forest set them up too good And that was 2112 nine points and Francis margin Kobe Jordan Simmons down the corner blocking foul that's going to be called on oak He will make out will be Bobby good is that right.
You know we all knew the answer of course.
Yes.
Here's the thing.
Right now we talk about the height of of reinforce the speed of Saint Francis right now is really been the difference shot is up and good nice shot making good touch there by gates the Xavier signee down inside gates back to the way forest's going to pick it up and try to drive and score whistle and the foul offensive foul good job by Kobe Jordan Simmons to hold his spot Great anticipation he did a nice job we see them yeah good replay we're going to show right here.
Thanks Steve our producer in the truck.
Watch this Kobe Jim Jordan Simmons waits to see what he's going to do with it.
He hesitates, takes a step at the last second.
He gets his feet set right there to take that charge.
It was a smart heads up defensive play by the junior Kobe Jordan.
He said them across the timeline, working in the back court with Chris Steel still looking for right side Anderson the steal to Simmons 35 seconds going to play for the last shot here Simmons shoots it right side steal Anderson looking you've got Malik Beasley down inside and you've also got Coleman down there Obviously not Coleman but you've got Gates Simmons saves and goes back to Simmons Simmons looking inside 18 seconds left 12 now 11 Simmons up man no good I like what Green Forest did though they didn't let him sit back.
Forced the issue, forced the temple, made him do something with the basket here with the foul.
His second we think this is exciting basketball 23 points in the first quarter for Saint Francis.
Kobe misses the first three and an air but normally comes back in good for green Ford with 7.9 left in the first quarter.
Simmons good 20 for 1212 point lead WHISTLE and a foul foul is going to be called on steal somebody pushed Yeah it was a steal it's not a good foul you're both teams already in the bonus here so you're going to go to the line and shoot one on one and this second and that's that's a two kid foul to pick up 70 feet from the hoop.
Yeah.
And it sends them to the line and there's no pressure there.
Yeah, well there is pressure but a different kind of rabbit missed it.
Whistle out of bounds to the force.
Yeah.
Down under the basket.
6.7 left And as soon as the quarter.
What Ravenel going to trigger it in to the tall trees back at the foul line looking they got a hurry.
Yes.
Oh good shot Ravenel Not a lot of arc on that shot.
I'm sure you noticed that it was an it was a straight liner three pointer 2415 we play one it's a good one from the make and center play Welcome to dunk city folks on a Saturday.

Regions number one, it's been as good as advertised.
2415 after one 2415 Green Forest, Christian 27 and one Saint Francis 28 and three.
Let's take a look at what Malik Beasley has done.
He's he set the tone early.
Look at these This is all different shots the dunks high flying he's outstanding going to play at Florida State next year already with nine points three or four shooting here in the first quarter.
Saint Francis shooting 67% from the floor, ten of 15 already.
Of course, you saw there all the run outs, the dunks going towards Simmons with a couple as well, 18 points in the paint right now for the Knights, only four for the taller green forest.
A lot of high percentage shots we've seen Francis do it Kobe Jordan Simmons triggers it in the Tucker who will move to the point for a while Kobe will move to a shooting guard position picked away from him.
If you've just joined us, you really missed a quarter.
I hope you taped it for one to watch.
Yes, it is right now.
Or you can go to on demand later.
Good evening, sir.
By Rabinow.
Yes, definitely.
Rabinow crossed the timeline by looking left side our end and good.
That was obvious.
That's a nice move right there.
These guys are big.
Yeah.
Yes, they are.
22 kinds of gates, a68 shooter.
No good.
From the top of the key.
That was Wallace Tucker Ravenel in full court right side took power down low last out of bounds by Abdul-Malik in his basket one more time watch him work inside right here Obviously that's a nice move Good footwork by the big man, only a sophomore, by the way, Saint Francis substitutions the starters coming back in right now, Coleman back in with two fouls for Steele also back in the game for all five starters, back into safe hands and they move Kobe back to the point back door.
Oh, my goodness.
Didn't see that coming behind the tall trees.
Monique Beasley through the back.
He's got 11 points already.
He's had on a good day pass down low.
Nobody reached out to touch it.
Coleman pulled his hand back at the last moment.
Yeah.
Let's take a look coming through the back door and go Colby Jordan Simmons working to Beasley Nice job Perfect touch on that.
Why did it happen so fast?
Colby gets the ball and as soon as he got it beat, Beasley was off and running toward the basket.
Nobody from downtown, Anderson tells his teammates.
That's my bad In that horrible shot, the look inside gates batted around pushed around Kizer Gates can't get a break And he's also a great player inside Yeah he is Well he's the one that's going to battle closest against all those trees second foul on rounding out Ravenel two fouls That's not good for green Forest's substitution now dollar y'all in the game new in the game top shot is that fan good I do Malik is out for green for us we talked about at the top Tommy how do you beat a team with all this hype You just you're run them And that's what Saint Francis is doing right now.
You outrun them or you sneak behind them, and that's what they're doing.
Kizer Gates, two of two at the line 2817 11 point margin for Saint Francis here at Saint Francis, Front 9696867.
He's since a first time all year that he's had an opposing front line that's bigger than his.
Yeah, well let's face it he's no slouch.
Saint Francis In their height.
Russell and Tremblay with another turnover five turnovers for Saint Francis, nine in the game on Green Forest.
A rookie will bring it down for Green Forest.
Very methodical by Green Forest.
They like to slow it down, grabbing a jumper batted away whistle and I would assume a foul there the way the ball took off steal with the foul that's got to be his third three steals going to have to go sit down It's a tough loss for them.
We talked about green forest and their defense and they have not allowed they've only allowed more than 70 points twice this entire season.
The last one was the landmark Christian.
They scored 71 back in January 23rd.
No other team since then has reached even 60 points, really forever.
Gets in and we'll get another we'll shoot three in a row, Anderson comes back in, steal goes out for Saint Francis, steals.
Going to have to sit down for a while with three out here for some very good at coaching from the sideline I guess he knows his players a lot better than I do, but I would suspect he's going to be there for a while, wouldn't you think?
Yeah, I think he probably has done on 520 here.
Yep.
Yeah.
28 to 20.
Anderson back in the game replacing him.
Beasley Simmons scrambling Jordan Sanders with the travel but hasn't done much wrong today no for the night hasn't nor has Malik Beasley no listen you have to let it monster like that and think about the other players they've got How would you like to play them every exactly?
I don't think so It's Francis now three turnovers in less than 3 minutes driving out no good Coleman the Coastal Carolina Center Here's the league Beasley whistle and yet another foul forest that's his third win That's tough for green for us on the other side when he does such a great outside shooter you mentioned eight three pointers in the quarterfinal win 24 points in that game.
Yeah, there's very little you can do when they drive down there except just either concede or back out of the way because they really come storming through the lane.
Well, they're also quick to take Beasley free throw is good he'll get another at the 452 mark it's 2920 Beasley the region six eight player of the year 22 points seven rebounds a game his averages 13 points for Beasley Green Forest in full court loses and out of bounds Well another every time they green fours they get out of control every time they try to speed up the tempo like that.
Ten turnovers for green forest and we've only played a quarter and a half, barely a quarter and a half.
Yeah.
This is being played right now at the Saint Francis Temple.
They're very, very happy to speed this up.
Reinforce has got to find a way in the halfcourt to work it inside, Play with your offense.
Do what got you here.
Hey, Gates and Beasley Simmons Baseline whistle and a foul foul is going to be called Oh Ebola that's going to be his first And we've played a quarter and a half from the American center flags it is a dandy Saint Francis 38 Great pass 20 back of American center flags shortly a bad day at the heart of our community are the businesses that don't skip a beat.

Everybody, right now I'm standing with James Forrest.
Now, not only was he a decorated athlete, the Georgia Tech great.
I mean, we could go on talking about your career, maybe that buzzer beater in 1992 in the NCAA tournament.
But today you're a dad.
Your son's out there on the court.
He's a sophomore.
He's playing for Green Forest, trying to get that state championship.
Dad, I know you had to give him a pep talk.
What did you tell him to prep him for this big stage?
Well, I just told him to relax.
I mean, you know, we had a long season, and right now he's playing his 29th game of the year.
Just take it like everyone.
It's a bigger stage, but just focus, protect the ball.
Don't make silly fouls, which he has three right now.
So I think it's two nerves right now, but I think we'll make adjustments for the second half.
And he's a pretty smart kid.
He'll make the right adjustments.
Speaking of adjustment, the team as a whole, they're down right now.
So what do you think they have to do in order to close the gap and get the win?
Ultimately at the end of the day?
Well, we need to catch the ball when our guards are driving and drop into the hands of Lance and we kicking it out of bounds.
We need to protect the rim.
You know, we need to use that size and protect the rim.
Do a better job.
You've done this before, huh?
Oh, yeah.
Well, we'll talk to us.
What are you doing now?
What are you doing these days?
Well, actually, I have a youth program called Team Pass, and some of these kids play with me.
My son, including John and Francis.
So that's why I'm so nervous over here.
You hear me doing all this yelling, trying to get these guys right because we run the similar offense as well as defense.
And right now, I think it's just a nerves right now that has.
So, you know, we'll wait and see.
Second half, second half I ever thank you so much for joining us.
And I'm not going to lie, James.
I mean, you're dressed you look like you can get back out there and play with these guys now, just trying to stay in shape.
These guys keep in me and stay humble.
Dad and coach Tommy, back to you.
Thanks, Nicky.
Excellent.
Excellent.
Kobe, Jordan Simmons got the first of two and we'll shoot second and hit that bottom of the net.
3132 2012 point lead.
You want to keep them within viewing distance here?
Larry, can you do games for us?
Lit up.
We talked about that game winning shot going another offensive foul away from the ball.
Yeah I abdel-salam that's his first a push off obviously 11 team fouls already from reinforce trying to latch on to this very quick St Francis to Kobe Jordan Simmons across the time working one on one now driving throwing it up and whistling a foul to block Jordan Simmons going to the line 12 team foul now for green for us and see they call it on baby a line follow over look at it again watch the quickness here he's going to blow right by his defender That's a tough call could have gone either way was a tough call Simmons up ten good how about this confidence no nights on the on the line they're all back you're talking to coach on the other end Second one in and out and here comes green for it ran it all across the time line A watching driving pulling up jumper no follow yes down inside that's an Abdul Salam just a freshman.
Another one of the big tall trees there by green forest and a nice on the other end to force a turnover Didn't like that shot right there by a rookie He forced it nice follow I mean they bailed out on the rebound the second chance points but he's working inside look these guys were seventh turnover for San Francisco you go there you go down inside looking now going to stop pull up jumper but see but you you initiated the offense by going inside first you looked at the triple team on the big man inside you kick it back out now you do the ball fake you get the open shot.
Turns out again there's a foul on the play but that's what you want out of your offense.
When you're down 11 points.
You got to the big man's got to get a touch to make the defense move and respected and then you get the outside jump Beasley with a foul on Malik his first free throw Absolutely no good 11 point lead at 317 Going to walk it down.
The pace has definitely slowed here Jordan Simmons no good batted around green forest Ravenel one on to break pull up jumper good nice shot nice shot in the rhythm for Ravenel What the star players this team the senior guard one of the better looks they've had on offense here in the first half Gates and Simmons going to walk it down and literally walk it down.
They have really slowed down the pace here, which is kind of surprising.
Beasley Back to Simmons now to Kizer Gates Simmons to Gates.
No problem.
Good defense that time by Green Forest Zone.
It's like kind of socked that zone out there maybe a32 with a big guys up front that may help a lot but then you got somebody coming through the back door you have to be prepared for.
Yeah.
Ravenel across the timeline.
NOGUCHI Left side downtown three, no rebound inside and a slip and a fall.
Let's see.
I think that's the third foul now on COLEMAN At this moment, Yeah, yeah.
The big kid, the big 16 kid who has headed for coastal Carolina.
Yeah, because of the tall timber right here in this replay from a throw right there.
Coleman.
Wow.
He's called for the foul precious eye at the lions trying to break free.
So now you know he's your best player.
Now you lose something right here by Coleman going out.
Yeah.
Because he's basically the biggest guy you got, you know, on this team.
Yeah.
What can green force take advantage the offensively they give up a little bit because for us to in with three fouls so your your point guard your quickness guard he is out and then you go to the smaller guard the smaller point guard the youthful kid Wallace Tucker the sophomore who is definitely looks a lot shorter than the rest of the team here.
He looks like some the other high school players.
We had what seemed to be another one on a high He no, that's his third He's picked it up in a hurry.
He has didn't start the game.
No, did not And a lot of free throws here.
He kind of lost the rhythm of things there for a while.
Of course Saint Francis happy there with now a nine point lead with 210 left.
It'll pick up in the second half, I'm sure new number into the game and moving up to you coming back in Saint Francis some of the free throws.
This is their 10th free throw attempt of the quarter.
They've hit nine of them.
Yeah, there's another one.
We're having our own.
Do we have another foul already?
Know if it is it's on Tucker.
He's the closest one to it all but not sure the clock was not was not running properly 206 Ravenel of woodsy backing in there traveling too many steps Nice thought nice move but let it fly it's the 11th Is that not enough time I'm sorry 11th turnover already for green reinforce that's that's a whopping number for this team Gates downtown no and the tip no green forest Ravenel whistle and a foul on Gates Second foul on Gates Ravenel was going to slam That was no good.
Yeah one more look at it here on the run out gates that long three pointer probably not the shot really that Coach Catlin wanted You know he's going to contest that shot and he did a good guy I think he was going to try to slam when he wants to but that being a good idea at that point.
Free toss, no good.
Now, another one coming up at the 143 mark here, ten point lead, one green forest is four for seven and free throws from now, five for eight and for Port Tucker, Gates and seven Tucker, right side Beasley down to trigger back outside to Tucker he's looking now goes to Beasley driving baseline up No good follow up no good ball in the air Got a break Ravenel driving no blocking foul on Saint Francis That was a great play right there again you've got a three on two breaker here Ravenel sees the numbers likes his advantages boy George Simmons thought he was there but they called a blocking foul on him That's his second Ravenel with the line in the air Good Got a good shooter's roll by time Nine points now for Ravenel with another one to come up And good good job there.
Ravenel has seven points in the quarter.
Gates going to bring it across the timeline for Steve Francis.
The night's only eight and three on the year.
Malik Beasley, Kobe Jordan.
Simmons back outside to Tucker Anderson Anderson with a downtown three at the one minute Mark Ravenel in full court Francis by ten facing off foul is going to be called on Wallace Tucker sophomore reserve coach Catlett thought he did a nice job there and thought he might have drawn a five second call.
Yeah, that's his first foul in New Jersey.
Ravenel will go to the line to shoot to ask for good.
First look a little better flow this quarter for Green Forest, wouldn't you say?
Yeah, well, they've got a couple of run outs again.
They've worked the ball inside, the bigs have gotten some touches.
That's been the big difference.
It makes a difference.
WALLACE Tucker Jacoby, Jordan Simmons, top of the key lost again.
Oh rookie driving up and good great job of using his body to avoid the blocked shot he felt the six eight guards come up behind him and just like that it's a six point game green force with a nice job to get back in.
This Definitely green forest needed to play at a higher tempo than they have been playing, I think.
And they have to develop that now.
They're going to really pressure rain forest 12 to 5 run here.
Tucker Going to pass it off shot up no good by Anderson his Ravenel no good at the buzzer so first class first pass no doubt about that will be 38 and 32.
Let's go to Nicky now to coach Catlin.
Hey there coach I can tell you're you're easily and understandably so frustrated right now.
How do you get the tempo back in your team in the second half?
It was evident in the first half.
Well, we created some turnovers, got fast break points.
We did a good job on the backboard.
We didn't give the lot of second shots.
But then on our offensive in the second quarter last week when we got impatient, took quick shots, turn the ball over, we want to get more ball movement down the offensive end and get penetration and kick.
We're getting stagnant, often standing around and trying to make a play against our set defense.
So we got to move more ball, move more man movement.
Yeah, Coach and I know that you were talking to your bench over there about all the fouls going on three with your big man and Coleman.
Are you concerned with that at all?
Oh, absolutely.
We got three almost to harden three on the big guy, but we just play.
The other guys are getting foul trouble.
We got to play without the foul.
All right.
Thanks, coach.
Good luck on second half.
All right, Mark Grace, it's time for you in the tailgate party.
All right, Nicky, thank you very much for getting ready for the JB halftime show.

Welcome back to the Macon Center.
Black Saint Francis, 38, Green Forest, Christian 32.
And taking a look at the statistics here, it's very obvious that it's balance scoring for Saint Francis.
And of course, Green for us is leaning on Ravenel and he's been at the free throw line Larry seven of eight on the line for seven of his 12 points.
He's the only green forest player in double figures.
But as expected, it has been the big three for Saint Francis.
But what a run late in the half there by green force.
In fact, Nicky Hilton right now is with the coach.
Okay.
Hey, Hey there, coach.
All right, so your team, you started closing the gap late in the first half.
How do you establish that tempo again?
I mean, you guys, you went out with the tempo.
You start to get a little more rhythm.
How do you get that back right now?
Just got to keep fighting.
Got to keep fighting.
Got to keep making effort plays.
All right, David, on fourth, loose balls, getting charges, get holding them to one shot, getting the rebound and pushing it.
We're fine, you know.
Yeah, we had a rhythm.
We got our rhythm going.
But what we have to do now is just got to keep fighting.
Just got to keep fighting.
Keep fighting.
I think you covered everything in that first answer.
I hope so.
I hope so.
I'm so guys, I can vouch for it.
I heard it behind the bench.
He just kept saying, we're fine.
We're fine.
A lot more basketball coming up.
We're fine.
We're fine.
I'll tell you what, six points is a whole lot better than 12 and 13 behind the way the momentum was going with Saint Francis.
Let's take a look at some of those highlights.
Yeah, some of those first half highlights.
It was unbelievable early on.
This is Kobe Jordan sevens.
I just saw this the Bailey Beasley I should say then Jordan Simmons to Beasley again high flying action right there 13 points for Beasley then Simmons gets going He had some run outs as well He's got 12 points in the game Simmons again on the alley oop from Kizer Gates on the other end we mentioned Justin Ravenel took him a while to get going but when he did it start to go very nicely done.
I had time stats and stand by the Farm Bureau of Georgia.
You see right now again, Saint Francis, the hot shooting.
They cooled off, though, in the second half and those late turnovers in the half.
Nine now for them, 12 turnovers now for green for us.
But this is suddenly a ball game.
What it was really kind of a blow out there at one point in the sun the first half but then it's time to play.
The official here walked over and shook hands with it.
Yeah, that was nice of him to do that.
Didn't have to do that and that was happy to shake his hand.
I guess he wants us to say nice things about him in the second half.
That's right.
You go right green for us then.
Possession.
Second half shot is up.
Bang.
Good.
And the foul no momentum.
And he has a fine line saying it is.
Tommy, you took the words in my mouth.
Watch this.
Look right here again.
Great.
Drive here by Ugwu.
Okay.
We didn't see that before.
One more look at it again.
Three point play and you mention it, Tommy again, where this game was halfway through the five minute mark for us, goes out with three fouls.
Things did not look good, but they have this slowly battled their way back into this steal with four Chris to his fourth foul.
Yeah and he's out of the game that's that's big that's huge for Saint Francis very big Kobe and Kizer gates in back court now and that's not where you want to use a68 guy like kinds gate You don't want to use him back there Kobe got to lay it up off the glass.
That's smooth.
Now.
That's as good as it gets.
There.
That's a nice move right there.
Well, he knows, too.
He's the quickest guy on the court.
He can get around defender any time he wants down inside, Ball's going to be thrown out of bounds at the other end and it's going to turn around and go the other way.
Green a forest Rabona Oh, in four court jumper No.
Batted away and comes out of there too.
COLEMAN And ahead, the gates.
Gates going to drive the baseline up no good whistle and another foul and fouls on Ravenel that's his third third we're going to see some deep foul trouble here Yeah well you've got forest Ravenel and Iyiola each with three fouls for green Forward for the war.
Eagles forced out four fouls now for Chris Deal and Josh Coleman with three number 30 He's in the game with three fouls for Saint Francis the problem good free throws are good 40 to 30 57. lead.
NOGUCHI Across the time gets a good screen going to drive going to shoot and miss and there's going to be somebody coming over the backside.
Abdul Salam I think over the backside, yes.
His second foul.
Kobi going to walk it down the floor over the timeline.
Nobody in a hurry.
They're going to need a pick and they're going to get it, Kobe.
They're going to pass it to Gates, who fires good.
Three shot, three times for Gates, six, eight guys shooting from 30.
Amazing.
It's pretty good stuff in it.
I'm telling you, this is the real thing.
Ravenel pulls it back and going to go to the left side goes past Kobe, Jordan, Simmons turns it over.
Yeah, turned it over.
Cannot we used to call that carrying the ball.
Well, look here, Kizer Gates spots up again in high school.
The black arc is the three point line.
In case you're wondering what was on the line.
Well, the white line actually is the college three point line.
That right, black is for high schools.
That was a three point good looking shot there by it was Gates.
It's nice when you got a guy that's six eight tech take it from there from the black line and score right now our producer Kevin Durkee, before the game earlier today was trying to shoot from out there, I think.
But I don't think he hitting from the white.
But he had a couple from the black maybe.
Diddy.
Yeah, he had a couple.
Well, you know, I saw a couple.
He says it was more I don't know if he said it was more.
It was more.
Yeah.
It's it's it's okay because he's the one that's going to he's going to want and he could turn a mike off any time.
I'm not going to, I'm not going to say anything else that's it.
I'm sure it was true.
Batted away down on to the basket whistle and another foul was you see that rebound Malik Beasley just a hops and he's got a foul called here on green for us Another one third foul what watch where his head is on this rebound coming in bombing your screen get that this is Malik Beasley the six eight kid who's going to Florida State Precious batted away.
Wow.
Wow.
Just stayed with it.
Did Coleman Coleman go on to coastal Carolina with a nice player for the Chanticleers Chanticleers?
He sure will whistle off there looking like I did it.
And I'm very sorry.
He took him up in the air and kind of left him there, didn't he?
Kizer has got three Kizer gates.
He goes to the line is fouled.
It's going to be a chess match within the game here in the fourth quarter.
How to manage your rosters keep the players that you want on the court to do the things you want and still get a win here.
This thing is not over.
No, no, no.
12 point game.
Second shot is up and good 11 point lead on Kobe Jordan Simmons.
You kind of get the feeling they're going to put it in high gear against that was a nice pass it off the rim Oh good G o bad it away Beasley with the block Yeah Justin Forrest Beasley with a block watch this forest thought he had something nice where the shoulders right in front of his dad watch it a few rows back Beasley says I don't think so Ravenel top of the key Beasley He plays at a different altitude than most players.
He stays on the ground very little on the floor, very little long shot.
Oh good.
Teague from downtown ten points, four over ten now Jordan Simmons an eight point lead for the night But you feel like the green force actually has a bit of an advantage right now it is city playing looser They seem to be controlling the tempo of the game.
There's a travel traveling, so it's back to back turnovers.
We saw that.
Here's a here's a three pointer here by a rookie left hander freezes his defender with the ball fake Saint Francis has taken the time out and will take one two here for 50 left in the third quarter.
Saint Francis, 47 Green Forest, Christian, 39, will continue to play above the rim when we return to the making center place.
Charles At this moment, getting here took three years of sleepless nights and postponed vacations.
Your dad said Play it safe.
Your husband kept the faith, but franchising is why you partnered with Regions in the first place.
We share your vision for moving forward, and at moments like this, I see that makes all the difference.
Is your business at a turning point?
Regions defending champion Saint Francis in the lead 4739 And they've got some great attributes as far as that school is concerned.
Larry Yeah, they sure do.
You take a look and look at this for your starters.
Are the school leaders in some category or another?
Beasley Your all time leading scorer?
Gates All time leading rebounder.
Simmons is going to put that assist total where it may never be reached.
He's only a junior and Josh Coleman you mentioned again he's going on to a new one school all time shot lot leader.
That's just what the title of all time talent that they've got here at Saint Francis on this team third quarter field goal Saint Francis three out of five Green Forest two out of four.
Not a lot of firepower so far.
And the first 3 minutes and 10 seconds here for Saint Francis outscoring Green Force nine, seven here.
But then it feels like you said, they're controlling the tempo.
Oh, good Team misses Anderson pulls it down Jordan Simmons and court has it stolen away up and good by forest Nice move from the backside Beasley and Simmons going to bring it down Simmons across the time line Ravenel working on him Gates Beasley Jumper no follow Coleman no follow Good Anderson That's nerves and I don't know how he got that basket because he ended up laying down after it went through the hoop.
Yeah he took a hard fall Watch this one more time.
Coleman can't get it to go again.
Just going up.
And you've called there the defender on the push chance for a three point play and he converts He got Saint Francis 16 of 19 at the line and they have lived there Forest Eguchi Ravenel looking inside the big guy turnaround hook No no good travel travel by Anderson who says I was pushed you know watch here that was Colby Jordan Simmons trying to sell the foul on that but the referee was right there had a good look at it.
That was just a smart play by force with that steal in the basket.
Oh, power up and good job by force.
Oh oh Jordan Simmons and high goes Beasley again misses batted out of bounds by green fast jump out I miss the crowd really beginning to get into the game Jumper gates no good follow good Jordan Simmons down under the trees there at the baseline but a back up and in rabbit Ravenel down low batted away is blocked there Yeah nice one Saint Francis headed the other way Josh Coleman Coleman's a good player he's got to be careful too with the far foul problem and Tucker back in at the point he gives it to Coby Coby driving firing no rebound Oh good G looking left side down to forest down low baseline jumper Yeah Abdul money from the baseline Let's see what we've got going here now somebody got tangled up in the grab handle and Simmons and Collin foul and Ravenel driving outside he gets his fourth it's for this fourth quarter and they got really tangled up there and they did so both both teams right now with a key player with 4000 salt in Saint Francis lose Chris deal in the opening 10 seconds with his fourth and now Ravenel goes out with his fourth leading scorer in the game here right now for green for us yeah you can't afford to lose him not for a long period of time.
Tucker left side for court Simmons in back court with him right side Gates jumper Good he just Dedmon from there another three for Kizer gets his spot 19 points now Well Yates is at that very often but boy he's smooth with that three point shot He's got 11 in this quarter puts Mack up and Xavier is getting a nice player in him he's already signed to go out and play for the Musketeers Cincinnati That's a that's a good move for him.
That's a good move.
That's a good conference they play in.
Yep.
Coach Mack, Good coach.
Sure.
Tucker His first second shot is up Good forest from the corner.
Good to ten left.
Attrition could be a problem here in the fourth quarter, depending upon whether some of them come back in Jordan.
Simmons driving up and no good whistle and a foul.
Let's take a look at the forest three pointer Justin Forrest here squares up again we know he's got this in his arsenal.
Abdul Malik only a sophomore.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's good looking player.
He's going to be a dandy.
He is Kobe Jordan Simmons goes to the line shooting two.
Got it How many of it on free throws now I got to be 18 out of 21 or something.
Yeah.
1720 1821.
Yeah.
Yeah.
In that vicinity.
Anyway, second one coming.
You don't want to send them to the line.
18 points for Simmons.
5748 If you just joining forest loss that offense is good Koby Perkins and forest forest actually knocked it or rather Kobe Jordan Simmons knocked it off of his foot.
Well it's the replay here watch this and it's all smothered Jordan Simmons foot Yeah let's but let's be fair to the referees they don't have the advantage that we have.
The replay is not exists in high school basketball so it was a nice position by forest to no avail.
Yeah.
Yeah word she Oh down Nice move at the baseline by Feisal Abdul Malik That's a nice strong post move right there and you get that good body control take it up strong the kiss seven point lead.
Now, if Gates takes a tumble and misses rebound.
Great Green Forest in fourth quarter air fires, no Abdul Malik gets it back.
DeForest Forest up no good high above the rim.
Beasley going to pull it down and cross the time line down under home Coleman Good And I think that's a great letter great pass but Kobe Jordan Simmons hit Coleman wide open in the back door four fouls on it Emily Beasley here looking up spots Coleman calling for the ball the defense falling asleep You don't know where your man is We didn't take advantage for Saint Francis had a chance to build this lead back up to ten Saint Francis now 19 out of 22 at the free throw stride, Coleman comes out and now the steal coming back in with four fouls.
Number three for Saint Francis.
He's back in the game.
He's yet to score in this game and hasn't had to Coleman needs that Rask coming down the stretch it's 60 to 50 to forget we got a quarter to play here at this 615 Saint Francis is the main big man even in the fourth quarter of rookie no good Oh good G follows no if you call for trouble the trouble 54.7 here in the third quarter gates will trigger it in Simmons.
They've been content both teams to just kind of walk it down the floor.
Green forest is pressured at a whole lot more offensively.
Gates at forest for holding Kobe Jordan Simmons was trying to go for the alley oop They've got forest for a hold I think that's his fourth yeah the gain may speed up a little bit and get a little more open because a lot of people have got fouls hanging around their necks now.
Simmons at the line substitution in for Saint Francis make right yeah watch this let's now history number four right there watching with the grab a nice block there by Anderson the pick that was set Jordan Simmons trying to go around it and he got forced with a foul so again foul problems here forest with four he stays in the game number four there he is the sophomore and Nate Waller into the game for Saint Francis Jordan Simmons is deadly at the free throw line his eight for eight free throws this quarter forest driving on Beasley up and no follow up but a whistle again this one Saint Francis it's on Waller Waller who just came into the game I'm sure for damage control here at the end of third quarter It's first time we've seen him today.
Yep.
Trying to steal some minutes.
Coleman on the bench steal right back on the bench with four fouls was in just for a few seconds You know this is the first and another one coming the job really by Saint Francis to take what green force is giving him Victor enoh power misses to rebound green forest forest downtown three yes 16 points for forest It's been a quiet as well Malik Beasley in full court congregates Kobe Jordan Simmons 6 seconds left Simmons driving and missing out of bounds with a half second left.
Green forest will trigger it in as we end this third quarter a good G deforest long three attempt no good and we have played 360 to 53.
The excitement begins and that's the moment when we return to the Making Center flex high school students and parents going to college expense.

Hey, great party.
Oh, thanks.
Here you go.
One hamburger, medium well, this is well done.
No, no, no.
That's medium well.
What are you calling me?
A liar?
This thing is practically brown.
That's it.
You're not going to come to my house and tell me how to cook a hamburger?
You wouldn't do it There.
Be crazy, So don't do it here.
Sportsmanship.
It's up to you.
I one to go, Larry.
6253, Saint Francis over in Green Forest.
Let's take a look at the road to the championships here.
Saint Francis over Lakeview.
103 59 Aquinas, 8657 and Whitfield 63 to 40.
Now let's take a look at what Green Forest in one, two, three, 231 Stratford Academy, 66 to 23, Athens 5751.
Athens Christian was way up there at the power rankings.
So the defenses have tightened up and the speed of the game has slowed down greatly over the over the road to the championships right now to three quarters it's already in and Saint Francis's it's in there their advantage.
They've become the first team since late January to score more than 60 points on Green Forest and they've only allowed 70 points in a game twice all year long.
It's already the they green forest.
The defense they're known for has not been in existence here as Saint Francis has done pretty much what they've wanted for three quarters and really have not been pressured.
They walked the ball when they wanted to, ran the ball when they wanted to.
So it's it's been green for us come at it's been Saint Francis this call today in my opinion the green.
Oh what they want to do offensive and reinforce again a couple of players in foul trouble.
One of them is Justin force he remains in the game download of Gates a turn around.
No tip is good.
He tipped that in was that Anderson was blocked.
I think it might have been Coleman 30, Coleman or Anderson one.
It was Coleman, yes, Coleman and Green Forest answers.
But on Bluejay with a three near steal gates nope Beasley now Gates gates looking baseline Simmons no rebound fast way ahead Ravenel Ravenel driving up and no batted it out of there WHISTLE and a foul down I think that's going to be on Coleman now if it is I think Anderson held up his hand out to try to intervene on behalf of Coleman.
We're going to leave it on, Anderson.
Let's take more look at it here.
Ravenel going up.
Can't get that to go.
But again, on the follow up, you know, going back up, it was Coleman and Anderson held us up and got saddled with a foul.
Took his second.
But hey, you take one for the team Josh Coleman playing with four fouls.
Yeah Victor in power at the line shooting the second of two now 6456 in the air.
No miss him Yates in back court double team good bounce pass Malik Beasley going to give it up to gates up and no good or good but after the whistle tell you what the foul you know that's his third year old boy argue about to check back in for the war Eagles Anderson got it again the foul trouble right now Ravenel number 11 for green force with four fouls four fouls still on the bench for us in the game.
Number four, he's got four fouls for Saint Francis steal and Coleman with four six missed the second one did Anderson Hey a rookie three ball no rebound comes out to Coleman and I don't like that you do the hesitation rarely do good things happen right gets to Beasley no whistle and a foul Let's see who this one is going to be on They argue it looks like a wind poke in the eye.
Possibly.
Yeah I go Goodbye.
You.
That's who they call the foul line.
Let's take a look at it here.
A little bit late.
They're called it on him.
He's fouled after the game.
Got a poke in the eye afterwards.
It's like a scratch on the eye by Colby Jordan Simmons.
Good free throw there.
You heard Okay Simmons let's go to Nicky now to Nicky.
Hey there, Tommy.
I've been hanging out behind green for a suspension you know, I just have to say I'm so impressed with Coach Lagoon.
I mean, he is going up to each of his players on the bench.
He looks at him in the eye, player by player Papa.
He like that.
You can tell that he's confident and he really believes in the guys that they're going to come back and win this.
He kept telling them, Be ready to mix the pace up.
We need to speed it up.
We need to go after every ball.
And he knows that it's going to come down to defense.
They're the ones that are going to have to win this game.
And you know, prior coming into this game, he told all of us on the phone call that this game, it's going to come down to simply who wants it more, you guys.
There you go.
A long pass down under from out of bounds by.
I believe that was Malik, wasn't it?
Yes.
Malik Beasley trying to hit Kobe Jordan Simmons to no avail.
16th turnover for Saint Francis.
It's an eight point game It's the point.
Yeah.
He's 14.
He's found the range Yes he has double team Simmons Cross court to Beasley Beasley drives down in the tall timber gets the jumper Good Who's that athletic move right here by the future Florida state player a rookie with the it Beasley fouled by Victor Power and there is the double bonus so that's two shots on the rest of the way for Saint Francis fourth foul on power and that's the fourth different player for the war Eagles with four fouls Beasley at the line and 545 to go It's a long time I'm sorry it is a long time it's an eternity if you're sitting on a two point lead and trading baskets really impressed with Malik Beasley, it's the plethora of skills he gives for this Saint Francis team.
Great hops dunks.
Oh, it's nice defense as well.
Ravenel too fast.
Yes, he does whistle and a foul and that is on Anderson I don't know folks at home the folks at home realize we're being given these words of the game on social media.
It's quite a challenge Spiderweb was last game Woo shot clock boom.
Yeah, you got that one in our word.
Davis I just yesterday was flabbergasted.
That was one of them.
And so today tell it.
Let's tell them what they were.
It was plethora.
Plethora.
It's not a way to get it in the US.
Indeed.
What a challenge you guys are really going out there.
Social media following us on Twitter.
You're really making us work for our money here.
I'm going to really drop one on you here.
You've Become really a real wordsmith.
You do the math, right?
Is that not true?
The doors open, the morning open.
There you go.
You go.
Yep.
Larry, a real wordsmith.
Forest at the line.
Good.
535 left, seven point game.
Blake Beasley to Gates, to Coleman.
To Simmons.
Good whistle and a foul We are good is third And we have a nice ball movement Nice movement Yeah good shot there with the big man coming right in front of your face.
Here's a shot coming right at you and home Good look right there obviously with the foul That's his third seven He has lived at the line today.
Had me in my hands but I'm not the nights of Saint Francis.
Every time Green Forest makes a run.
The answer to Forest no good.
Yates pulls it out of there.
Beasley.
Oh, he knew.
If he almost had it.
I'd like to take a look at that one.
He missed it, but only by a smidge.
And as we say, watch this one will look at it coming right at you.
Whoa!
Not a plethora of moves.
Another camera angle for you.
This is our vantage point from right here.
Well, I he can get up.
He's got some serious hops.
He does.
He does.
I like to watch this guy play.
Be fun to watch the next year, the next four years.
All we all do, by the way, called for the foul.
That's now is at five different for five different green forest players with four fouls.
Yeah with Saint Francis extended now to a 12 point lead it was down to five just a moment ago 514 left in this one right earlier today.
Theo Ratliff still here and John Nelson talked to him in game one.
He has a has a vested interest in Saint Francis.
His daughter had a nice game in the earlier game.
Yeah.
Two daughters.
Yeah.
As a matter of fact.
Yes.
He was very cordial, very nice, John.
And he of course, John had to stand up in a chair to talk.
Right.
Well, so what we all love.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So would we.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I didn't want to make it sound like John's a short man.
That's not field 610.
Both daughters of over six feet.
Yasmeen played at six foot four and six three, I believe.
Yeah, Yeah.
I mean, the junior did a nice job.
What a nice interview John did with End of such a cordial man, as is Mr. Forest, who is a very nice man who was talking to Nikki Noto earlier.
It's nice of these as call them, famous athletes to share their time when this is you know, they're playing the dad role today.
There's their children playing here.
So we thank both of them very much.
So many parents, you know, every young man you see here, young woman you see at the tournament, there is a parents, there's a family and a community behind.
Them Exactly.
And a wonderful job of raising the next generation.
We say thank you.
We certainly do.
We wouldn't have much to do without it.
That's right.
That's right.
Let's see what's going on down under the Green Forest goal.
It was not good for green Forest.
No.
And we got our first foul on, I believe that was on air.
That's five for him.
Yep.
That's his fifth.
Precious air has.
Fouled out of the game.
Was not a precious moment for him.
It is definitely not so, Victor.
You know, power will come back inside here This once this guy takes an elbow right here, right to the face, Anderson.
Right to the head.
Now, that hurts.
And that's why he's at the line right now.
Still a bit days dazed.
Anderson needs to take two or three deep breaths here.
Saint Francis, eight out of nine in Green Forest, two out of five free throws in the fourth quarter.
Now nine out of ten, you know, a 13 point lead to begin to get into danger right now for Green Forest.
Nothing has really done well for you consistently.
You've had some good things happen but can't get a consistent run that Saint Francis hasn't answered.
You can't.
Waiting for Saint Francis to make it a run run fast.
But they're doing much better just living at the free throw line Obuchi up and trying to jam at home and missed the backboard that was over a guy, you know, more.
Look at the foul right here Nice penetration again he's hit some threes that sets up their penetration He'll be announced by fouled after fouls out so a team has lost a player for a steal comes in he has four fouls as well going to Saint Francis a little it's literally going to be who's got the strongest bench we're losing people left and right here and everybody else is in danger zone would you say?
Yeah, yeah.
450 Still to go.
That's an eternity.
Now when you shoot free throws like that, you missed everything.
Oh, we argue Coleman.
Coleman had a great game you know the seniors wanted to finish this one.
I'm sure he wanted to finish it on the court, but he's got a great future ahead of him.
Gates clears out the missed free throws That's been the difference right now is green forest can't by one Yeah tears gates nice sidestep and nice move down among the trees down there Ravenel got to drive past it away Ogunwusi knew and it goes out of bounds off Kobe Jordan Simmons Nicky now has got some good news for us.
NICKY Well, Tommy, I actually, I don't know if it's good news, but I'm sitting behind the Saint Francis bench right now and obviously, you know, I'm staring at a very sad situation seeing Coleman come out and he, bless his heart, he's just crying his eyes out.
All his teammates were giving him a hug.
His coach patted him on the back.
You know, he did his job.
And I know he's most upset that he can't finish it.
But you know what?
He's going to be sitting on the bench with his teammates and hopefully they come out with a win.
The girls did it earlier.
He had a great game.
Coleman had a very nice game playing down in that middle seven and oh, Saint Francis run Houston.
Go ahead.
As you say, two schools here this week with both boys and girls playing in the state championship game tonight it was Carroll to make drove over to but Saint Francis trying to go to an all as the girls wanted a buzzer beater in the first game over southwest Atlanta Christian right of he's got 22 and that was a three batted out of bounds by forest Chris Steele yes Oh oh my the things you hear from the bench.
Oh 353 left in this one.
What are you doing at the bad pass?
Go to our lady.
Take care of the ball.
Yeah.
Another foul Kobe Jordan Simmons will go to the line again.
You know, with a foul He's going to be gone He's fouled out Victor in a power was fouled out of the game 7867 still a lot of time left 344 it's an eternity right Kobe Jordan Simmons fires good one second one upcoming got him got them both 8267 13 points 25 now for Kobe Jordan Simmons and a bunch of free throws in there.
He's been deadly there and what a job he has done all over the place.
Yeah we talked about again, the girls winning earlier of Saint Francis trying to do the same.
It's all Norcross a couple of years ago when the girls and boys state titles in Columbia and 2012.
Jordan Simmons is 11 out of 13 at the free throw line 25.5 points.
Yeah he had those high percentage shots early.
He really hit you know, he's been at the line more than he has with the field goals.
It's only what God if he's got 11, he's only got six field goals in there.
Right.
Seven.
Yeah.
That's not shoot.
Let's listen to Coach Catlin now go back on his record because let's finish it.
Yeah, let's finish it.
Good deal.
Their coach can't let coach locker room from Green Forest also giving instructions to Saint Francis 80 points.
That's the most green forces allowed this entire season.
Previously they gave up 75 and that's over three point loss to Temple Brook back in December 13th.
Ravenel fires it up WHISTLE and yet another foul but the movie foul is going to be on steel and he's going to foul out.
I'm telling you folks 337 is an eternity it is a lot of time 13 point lead so steel Chris steel fouls out and Wallace Tucker going to come into the ballgame yet again so Kobe will move obviously to a wing and Tucker all around the point Ravenel good And we got another one at this rate guys have even been in the game We're going to foul out nice observation by Nick you can play Nicky now taking place He's not in good enough alley out there.
You got Kaiser Gates up it in Feisal Abdul Malik with the foul on doesn't look at it here in second Yeah come on A plethora of moves we've seen Kaiser Gates had a couple of three pointers nice inside move here six eight player versatile lands, three in the four in the next level.
Xavier got it three point play.
There's Nikki.
She's ready.
Put me in touch.
He's ready.
I see the intensity.
I see the intensity.
She's ready to play.
That's right.
Forest.
Mandalay.
It's.
There you go.
She's ready to play.
You got that?
A girl put me in, coach.
I'm ready to play.
Great job today.
Nikki is always super fast.
Misses the first second when coming.
Yeah, that one will be mentioned over the dinner table.
Oh, yeah.
Second one upcoming.
Good.
Wallace Tucker shoots it right side Kaiser Gates across the time line now Malik Beasley up batted away Nice block by Abdul Malik got a call a foul on that one Nice move down under from the middle Got in Oh yeah I was on Oh we are good He's gone Yeah let's let's take a seat here.
Let's look at his watch.
What happens.
Hi.
How are you?
Good to see you too.
Hey, when you're leading by 13, you can do that.
Yes, you can.
Well, obviously, he becomes the third war.
Eagle two fell out of the game.
Yeah, he tell you what, St Francis these guys are going to work out, shoot all these free throws, you know, see some increase pipes, all that, all that lifting.
Should we call it a gun show?
Well, you know, like, I look at these guns, I'll tell you what.
You shoot free throws, you will get stronger.
Yeah.
They're approaching 43 fouls as a team in the game.
You go for having Oh no good Batted away, no whistle, no foul, he said cheerfully in fourth quarter, Tucker looking for help and going to get it checked out of bounds.
It's not allowed to play.
We talked about that foul trouble the green force is in and a lot of it is trying to keep up with the athleticism of number two.
Kobe Simmons, number five, Malik Beasley.
How many times has Jordan Simmons gone to the line with trying to drive and he's being held trying to make a move on offense?
A lot?
Rabinow Or a Gucci ad was driving the lane.
It's a 15 point game.
Anderson's got four.
That's his fourth foul and we've still got 239 to go And the and center is really filling up now with a lot of other teams coming in.
This is second of six games.
You know the crowds have been great this time.
Me this entire week was wonderful Thursday just outstanding those they both those 445 games and we probably had 8000 in here.
Well the 445 game today will be the same way Morgan County were challenged to defend their triple A championship.
And if you remember that from a year ago, they brought the entire county of Morgan County.
It was it was unbelievable what an atmosphere, Tucker.
Good skills out there.
We were concerned about him being the small one out there, but he handles the ball well and he does Tucker looking.
Got to go to the left side.
Beasley, Beasley going to pull it back out and look B double team go to look at the area Tucker up under Tucker with a bucket Oh oh yeah The smallest guy on the floor Shortest guy out there he goes right under the basket But the tall trees and getting one good patient How about that.
No, he could not call that one.
Abdelmalek Yeah, the link is that watch this, this and all of this.
The crowd of his head, the other hand to the face.
Good phrasing I used to shoot.
Oh, yeah.
This has not been a high paced 88 points for Saint Francis in and out at the other end, stolen away.
Oh, Gucci driving and firing.
No.
Gets the rebound up Been in Yes forest pressuring Simmons Simmons driving passing off all slam by the basket offensive foul calls Malik Beasley with a slam dunk sorry good timing go ahead I was gonna say Malik Beasley really wanted that one for fouls on Jordan Simmons too Good job by Abdul Malik to hold his ground Good call Ravenel and Tucker he called for the foul for a third foul on Tucker and he's probably played 10 minutes total.
Yeah you reinforce what a season they've had again their only loss up until now was to Pebble Brook which is a68 finalists will play later tonight against Wheeler.
It's been a great year but it's a sad moment now when you take a look across there at the Green forest bench.
Yeah look at the faces.
You don't you wouldn't even have to look at the scoreboard.
Just look at the bench.
Yep.
31 No, 13 point game 139 to go.
It's going to take a lot to overcome this Bounced around.
No good batting out of bounds.
Going to go to San Francisco.
The thing that has really hurt Green Forest more than anything is the free throw shooting.
Yeah it really has.
Well, I think the foul trouble I guess.
Yeah early on and I think again we talked at the top about it in terms of again that the size advantage that green forest has, but it's the athleticism and the speed of St Francis and we saw him there in that flurry in that in the first half where you had I think three or four run outs in a row that were created by steals.
It just was very active, hands on defense, created some quick baskets.
It was in the first quarter, went from a seven was a75 game to like a 19 seven almost in a blink of an eye.
I know.
And it's been green for us playing catch up the rest of the way.
Kizer gates with two free throws, Abdul Malik with his fourth personal foul.
And we've got a 137 to play 90 to 75.
Most people will look at the score and say, Wow, they must have run up and down the floor.
Not really.
It's a lot of it's been damage done inside right there, inside work and a lot of free throws with the green forest going to call timeout with a 13.1 28 left 90 to 77, 13 point advantage for Saint Francis TV's longest running local show.
George, a traveler continues to scour the Peach State for all.
The newest, oldest.
And while distractions for you and your family to explore, watch Georgia Traveler Fridays at eight and look forward to a special episode on Friday, April 3rd.
That's all about golf.
Coach Catlett.
I don't know why you must have a headache today.
There's nothing to be concerned about, Coach.
I believe this one's in the basket.
Don't you?
Pretty much.
It's gonna be tough the way that Saint Francis shoots free throws.
You can't even.
Well, one, you can't foul.
You can lose a player, a key player.
Number two all over the floor yet again.
And Kobe goes down hard.
Yeah.
And the number two not only that if you fouled a player you if you commit a foul to stop the clock, you lose a player.
And on the other side, the way that they're shooting free throws they're 18 of 19 from the line.
And this quarter alone as we take one more look at that Wow and Simmons we e saying that Abdou Salam yeah freshman moved his feet it's his third foul one big kid I think he's the seven footer Edney Yes so 12 out of 14 if not, he should be for Jordan.
Simmons Yeah, he's close to it.
Is the drive by forest no good.
I don't know if he's the seven.
So we're confused out here.
We couldn't tell which one was the 610 or the seven footer.
I said, they go to the bench, they don't lose anything.
He may be a69 guy.
We're not sure about.
O missed it and Beasley slips.
Henderson tried to jam at home and missed it.
I know what's going to be talked about on the bus.
They're going to say we gave you your shot.
That's right.
That stuff.
That's right.
Never again.
Here's Anderson cutting through gates.
Good.
And a whistle and yes, a foul.
You want to take a look at it as it melts.
Play right here.
Abdul Malik is now found out of the ball game.
That's his fifth foul.
So almost the entire starting lineup for Green Forest is fouled out, except the guy who is in for a foul trouble early on the ball.
That's right.
Exactly.
Whole fourth quarter with four fouls.
There you go.
He's still here and now new numbers galore.
A rookie has 26 points and no tackles.
Yeah, they're taking all of the starters out for Saint Francis and the new guys get to come in and enjoy it.
Kizer Gates, however, will get to go to the free throw line.
Let's see if we can pick up those numbers for you.
Chandler White in there, as is Drew Smith.
Oh, Jacob Jacob Davis is in there as well as Will Richter, as in the lineup shot is up and is good Ravenel with a basket I'm going to call timeout What a day for Saint Francis the knights the women's team winning 4745 in our first game today to beat southwest Atlanta Christian record at the buzzer shot going in with 1.5 seconds left in the throwing game between the last two champions and now they're going to do it in the boys girls the girls won it and now the boys are going to win it.
It's a it's a dual title for Saint Francis.
And these teams, these boys and girls team from Saint Francis are really good.
Green forest, Christian, very good as is Southwest Atlanta.
Christian.
We've seen some quality basketball in the first two games.
There's four more games to go today.
Yeah, we can't wait to see them follow all the action right here on GPB throughout the day.
There you go.
Tommy, it's been good working with you today.
These two games enjoyed it.
It has been a ball.
And here's what's coming up after this game.
The Laney Wildcats and Beach Bulldog Ladies basketball teams, they can both play like top basketball.
You'll enjoy that one in full court.
Saint Francis stolen away forest driving and Gucci, the 28 points by a routine in four court over forest Richter Yeah forest has now fouled out still playing hard Here's the jam Oh Gucci he's got 28 points No foul That's amazing That is in this he's he gets have got a special medal for this this is the 61st foul called in this game unbelievable the referees certainly earning their keep Richter at the line 85 free throws and we've enjoyed every one of them.
I couldn't resist saying that I knew you'd like that.
80.9 Larry.
It has been a ball working.
It has and always enjoy it, my friend.
Hey, off the bench.
No warm up.
Well, Richter got ten and I'm all he will Green forest blue sky Rabinow move and whistle and the jump ball possession area goes to green forest trigger it in down under the basket Agouti will trigger it in goes to Rabinow three no follow no and the rebound going to come out the green forest Oh grouchy yet again No And the rebound is pulled down by Green forest and the game in there and quarter one I like the celebration tells the story Larry Steve Francis wins the girls championship Now the boys championship third tell you what nothing like championship basketball from Macon.
Yeah, what a game this was.
You take a look at this and again just we'll talk here at the top and some of the kids to look at in this game again for Green Forest it needed to get defensive, but it was really Saint Francis that started off with that defensive intensity in the first quarter was a75 game.
Their defense really turned things up, getting things going with all those run outs, the big time dunks by Beasley and and Jordan Simmons and it put Green Forest really on their heels at that point the quickness and athleticism of Saint Francis really outworking and out playing the game of green for three force is a fantastic basketball team take nothing away from them sure but they ran into a juggernaut in Saint Francis with all those players that we're going to see playing on the next level.
I really think that the two or three jams early in the game kind of set the tempo and it's almost like we are here, we are aggressive.
We came to win this basketball.
I just think that really kind of put the exclamation point on it early.
Larry I really do.
Yeah, I agree.
And then later, the foul trouble that really began to Mount Green for made a nice run to close it down with it 2 to 5 points at one point.
And here's a montage of some of those dunks.
Malik Beasley going to play at Florida State, Colby, Jordan Simmons, only a junior.
He's going to play at a major university the next level the alley oop there a system Kizer Gates is going to play on Xavier next year and then working inside here the big man for green forest so much a play up and above it We talked before again don't let the class one a private classification for you These were some fantastic athletes and great coaches to, you know, give you a great shout out to coach.
Catlett wins his sixth state championship, his outstanding career and for for Green for his young coach the room and what a career again he's only 26 years old.
What a future he has in coaching.
But again, this is entertaining.
It's been a week of entertaining basketball and this one again lives up to the hype, fantastic basketball game.
In this past game, I won't forget the noise.
Early dunks.
Yeah, they were noisy.
Yeah, they were exclamation point dunks and those are good to watch and they kind of set the tempo for that game.
We'll Be going over to Mark in a second for the trophy presentation.
But Larry, when we take a look at this game, you have a team in Green Forest that had allowed only 75 as the high point and nobody else at 60 and here they're in the nineties.
So you have to really respect what Saint Francis did today.
They were deadly at the free throw line.
Yeah yeah no question at all.
And again the high was 75 points to Pebble Brook.
They score 90 or 96 on this one and they're the state champs.
Mark Harmon for the trophy presentation now at mid-court.
Thank you, Tommie Palmer.
Time now to present the class single-A private School State Championship Trophy to the Saint Francis Knights.
And for that we go to the executive director of the GHC, Gary Phillips, coach on behalf of the Georgia High School Association and our friends at State at Georgia Farm Bureau.
I want to present you with a class a private school championship for this year.
Congratulations on a great win.
I very much appreciate Coach Catlett.
What does this victory mean to you?
Let me just say three words back to back, back.
I've been very blessed to be able to meet the coaches here with guys like thank our administration, Mr. Bush, a lot of Mr.. For having a confidence and in me to lead this team this year being the head coach and this is a special group of guys and we've had a goal all year to get back and win back to back our seniors.
We have five seniors.
They've been great for Saint Francis.
I think this is like the 13th or 14 time that the Saints school swept the state champs with their girls winning today.
But it's a special group of guys and these guys work so hard and they had a go.
And it's been it's been a privilege and honor for me to coach these guys.
We got Kobe right here.
Kobe, turn around.
Tell us what up toward the camera that's like.
There you go.
Talk a little bit about this victory means to you and your teammates this big.
That means great.
We put in a lot of hard work to get to this place and all we to be back to back.
So this is amazing right now.
Number three, come on over here.
Congratulations on your back to back championships.
Talk about working with these guys all year long.
I know this was the goal to get back to Macon.
Yeah, it was a great goal of ours.
We worked all year for this.
I'm glad we're better.
The best.
It's that's for baby.
That's for us here.
Senior Talk a little bit about winning on the last go round.
I was great.
I was.
