hi again everyone and welcome to the ghsa championship weekend on georgia public broadcasting you're looking live at the georgia dome as we get ready for this two-day football fiesta of tackles touchdowns and trophy presentations at the beginning of the year more than 400 teams dreamed of winning a state championship this weekend 16 remain eight will be crowned state champions and four will host the title trophy high today hi again everybody i'm mark harmon and i'm jackie britton we're here to give you a 50-yard line view all day long and tomorrow so make sure that you're part of the conversation and have fun with us because we'll be talking about a lot of different things on social media this of course is the super bowl this is as big as it gets in high school football a lot of scoreboard and class a private it's going to be a great one the paladins a fellowship christian at 13-0 will take on the 13-0 chargers of eagles landing christian academy then the 3a game pits the 13-1 spartans of greater atlanta christian with their outstanding quarterback davis mills taking on the saints of cedar grove a team with not one but two offensive linemen heading to play next year for the georgia bulldogs and then at 4 30 it's the 5a state championship game between the 12 and 2 rome wolves looking for the first title in school history taking on the buford wolves the battle of the wolves a team with 11 championship trophies already sitting in their trophy case so it's safe to say the wolves will win that matchup then in prime time it's the 6a game between the two-time state champion tucker tigers and the valdosta wildcats with 24 state titles the winningest program in ghsa history so we've got a lot going on a lot of great teams going to take the field out there today and tomorrow at 10 o'clock we've got four more games and four more state champs will be decided starting at 10 a.m it's the biggest weekend of the high school football year it's the ghsa championship weekend live on georgia public broadcasting 16 teams remain eight will be crowned in the next two days we're gonna be here all day long but you know what it's time to light this candle and get things school championship game between eagles landing christian academy and fellowship christian school it's going to be a great one both teams come in 13-0 and my partner and i sam crenshaw we're excited about this game sam you ready ready we start things off this is the first game of a big big weekend for these teams well we have great teams 13-0 one team five and five last year 13-0 this year elca they were here that last year we got to see them we get to see them again and they've got great players both teams great players let's get started talking about this eagles landing christian team they've been here before and we get started with a guy who runs runs the football for them trevor gear does a great job for them he's been uh he's over a thousand yard rusher for them and also on the list of several schools they're recruiting old dominion and navy on the list of schools that are looking for him on the defensive side for them you have a guy in harrison taylor he's a defensive end does great job over 60 tackles 24 tackles for loss and this guy's going to look to make a big impact on the defensive side of the ball for elcr today well fellowship christian can also counter with some pretty good football players too they've got two really really good football players a quarterback and a defensive end i know you want to highlight a quarterback that's kind of the version of a gym rat he's the guy that bugs his coach to death just ask some questions all the time coach why do we do this coach why do we do this and we're talking about jack hardin outstanding quarterback this guy gets it done both ways he's accounted for 24 touchdowns through the air 14 touchdowns on the ground so you want to watch out for number number 11 today coming out there for fellowship on the defensive side the best athlete on the team perhaps is billy mccurry the defensive end over 80 tackles and eight sacks he'll be very active today on the defensive front for fellowship it's early but both teams have been here quite a while they've walked through the dome and it's it's fun time it is we have a chance to go out and visit with both coaches and we've done that and now let's go down and visit with the prettiest thing in the building right now the girl on the sideline nikki knows that thanks tommy and sam happy to be reunited with you guys for this year but hey when i talked to coach morrell this week he said that his team is fully aware of the eagles landing story line that look they've been here before we haven't he said the biggest challenge for his team this week is being sure that they're not caught like deer in headlights and when we spoke pregame he said i think they got it out of their system when they walked in this morning but lucky for him they have a relaxed and focused group he said he saw that during the week this week watching his team get up a little bit earlier than usual this week maybe about 15 30 minutes here and there to prepare for this 10 a.m kick he says they are ready to go as long as they play their football tommy thank you nikki i tell you what if if you're 13 and oh which both teams are yes you'll play anytime anywhere you don't you you'll do it but this equals language christian time eagles landing christian team is used to playing this time of day they played this game a number of years in the past right and so it's kind of old hat for them it's the fellowship team that's here for the first time school history yeah and and i don't care what anybody says you are going to be a little bit nervous and even coach al morrell indicated to us he was a little nervous a little nervous we said he slept good last night we asked we asked her coach how did you sleep last night said he slept good so he's ready to go ready to go and and go after this it's really big for the school and he is really fired up coach is excited about this game let's take a look at jonathan guess who we went down and shook hands with and uh you know he's he's ready for this too he is he is but he's all about business you know that's the thing he wants to make sure that his players are focused and know what comes next we watch them doing the pre-game warm-up and like you said before they're a team that's been here before their expectations and and he reminds them of that what he expects from them and what they should expect from each other and playing in this game well fellowship has uh either deferred or lost the toss they're going to kick off and sometimes when you're here for the first time it's better to play defense better to get things started defensively see if that defense can go out and set the tone for you as you said we're looking at number four we mentioned a gear earlier you see them right there uh you you want to go out and see if the defense can set the tone for you maybe get your three and out uh get your team off and you'll get your team off to a good start then your offense gets the ball there's coach guest there he is and uh you know in in reality he has to be a little bit nervous too because any time you're 13-0 there are a lot of different reasons to be nervous you know somebody's got to lose this game and it's something that no one's done all season exactly no teams no knows the feeling no one knows what that feels like with this particular team they've only known victory for those of you who have just joined us eagles landing christian wearing the solid blue and the paladins of fellowship christian school out of roswell wearing solid white uh it's it's a festive atmosphere sam i'm so happy to be working with you again in this final high school weekend at the georgia dome and uh here we come the preliminaries yeah i'll talk about wide eyed huh first time ever in school history playing inside the georgia dome and these guys from up the road at roswell and we talked with coach about just roswell and and the caliber of high school football that community has seen in the last couple of years the roswell hornets will be here tomorrow night to play last year blessed trinity came to the georgia dome so in that area that corner of north fulton county has been some great high school football last year in that north fulton area up there some really good athletes and we've got some of those here today and of course down at mcdonald's not too bad down there not too bad down there they they've been quite a tradition for themselves uh indeed and during the course of their schedule uh just methodically going about business right as as as is expected for eagle's landing christians and here they are fellowship won the toss and deferred so obviously they feel a little better about going on defense first and uh we will just see how they do that's that's the interesting part about it and on the right in why and we're off and running here eagles landing on your left and on your right good kick at the three look at this return and much more up to the 35 watch for a block in the back back up i'll tell you what that first one's always a little scary didn't we have one last year that was returned on the opening kickoff on the receiving team 10-yard penalty first down holding on the receiving team first down 10 we are at the 21 yard line and that's something coach guest doesn't want to see already they have a penalty even on the opening kickoff braden rush had a good year 58 of 102 over a thousand yards rushes the ball as well 77 carries gonna run the speed go left try to get to the corner and gonna be knocked down at the 25 yard line taking a look at those regions bank starting lineups gavin george zack yarbrough martin yates jose aurora and zach jones pretty good size up front a lot of quickness on this eagles landing christian academy team in the backfield queen and gear those are the two principles back there gonna run the speed to the right and go up to about the 28 yard line on the other side of the ball on the four-man front mccurry keep your eye on him zach murray ted aycock and ethan minkert are your fellows with their hands on the ground four linebackers robinson curry morton and isaac got a whistle got a flag here okay and in the secondary ryan reed jack harden and mayor tagler we are at third and fourth i think we got another flag down on the field false start that's not something coach guest wants to see that's two penalties already and they're running it wide early with the speed student body left student body right try to swing them out dryden bush brings him up throwing too high flag again up around the 30. and tommy you gotta be concerned coming out of the locker room uh with flags i know this team is 13-0 and they didn't get here by having this happen yeah sean queen the intended receiver we have an illegal shift on the offense that penalty is declined i'll bring out fourth downs there was a man in the slot that didn't come set before that play was before that place started right sometimes when you don't go on offense if you remember this is what happens and and of course fellowship you know they want the toss and deferred maybe they wanted to play defense first talk about the kicking game alex usher has been a good one for a long time for eagles landing he's a senior and he's back in punt formation he's a really good one five nine 155 senior he's been here a few times high driving kick man back at the 28-29 fair catch called for there 47-yard kick that's a good weapon that's 47 yards up in the air too jack harden he's had a good year 88 out of 150 and carried it 122 times this is the gym rat that we talked about absolutely drove the coaches crazy as a freshman he said he asked why to every question known to man and he said but you know what it paid off i answered all the questions and he said this kid gets it done three wides right are you gonna toss sweet hit for the corner got a block on the corner and six or seven yards up there across the 35 to the 38 yard line now let's take a look at fellowship christians starting lineup mason russell davis shaw charlie thompson ted aycock and jason kerkemeyer he is the real deal six six about 310 just a biscuit over 300. right right there watch the right side they love to go right double wing man in motion gonna run on the speed sweep got the first down and more up across the 40 45 yard line let's take a look at elca's defense they run a three front you've got caleb dallas tyrese black and he is an enforcer harrison taylor the other defensive end your five backers are hudgins langston youngblood shockley and maze in the secondary you've got douglas underwood and moats to look to the sideline after the first down hardin looks over a three-man front dropping to throw got a man out there complete and out of bounds up at the 48-yard line let's complete the 27 cameron giel we'll get another look at it this guy gets it out there good gill with a nice reception out of bounds i tell you this fellowship christian team they're just being kind of methodical harden's going to run the speed sweep again not a lot of blocking out there going to turn it up inside across midfield down to the 48-yard line goes andrew johnson you got ryan reed and drew johnson let's take another look at it got a block on a corner made a good cut right there and you often wonder how turf's going to affect somebody for the first time they play on it here wayne man in motion now he's going to stop turn around and go back almost canadian football there double wing offset to the left sweep nothing there look at the guy making that stop they got it that the charger made the first contact was 49 harrison taylor harrison taylor came in and blew that thing up and trey douglas came on the finish watch for number 49 flips through those blockers and he makes the first contact that was a full contact at the point of attack once again harrison taylor's the guy that makes it happen trey douglas comes in to clean it up for eagles landing christian there's a reason he has his helmet covered in decals fourth and about seven gonna kick it away caught at the 23. fake and good coverage 29 yard point by fellowship christian we've just resume of the respective teams here for elca three-time state champions 2015 12 and 96 it's their fifth finals appearance in the last six years in 2014 ironically they started 0-6 1-7 straight to make it to the finals and their record since 2010 79 and 15. fellowship christian school their first appearance in the state finals most wins ever 13 second region championship first since 2007 and they've never had back-to-back winning seasons which is very unusual it really is important to make it to this point but this season perfect 13-0 and there you see coach morrell watching his defense go back to work four-man front eagles landing running the spread option up to about the 30. gear on the carry he was 1400 yards plus he has averaged it it's almost finite because he averaged 100 yards 0.6 i think per game that's just amazing when you have a running back that can produce for you like that yeah wing back reverse now coming speed right side and a nice tackle gonna be knocked down over there at the 32 yard line take another look at it great pursuit there and look at look at who's in on the tackle just missed right there number 11. that's the quarterback jack harden yeah what's he doing out there he plays he has he's a middle down backer he's a free safety he's had 60 tackles this season the quarterback [Applause] gonna run gear once more up across the 40 and got a first down and much that's just more great look but by that offensive line and here just was right through the middle of that defense here's another look at it on the left side of the ball you can watch it geared the the elca line of scrimmage is not big but they are hiccup quick if you will watch them they are just literally quick gonna give it to gear once more not a lot there and fellowship's not real big defensively either if you'll take a look at them they match up pretty well they do match up very well that was matt curion on the stop number 50 he's down at the bottom just got gear wrapped his arms around the legs and wouldn't let him go robinson curry morton and isaacs are your backers and up front mccurry watch him on a defensive end he's really active whistle again another flag this is not what coach guest wanted to happen with his football team this is what four now four four pin at three three penalties we were talking with coach morrell and you know what's the thing tommy the further along you get into the season the more and more the fundamental things become important and that's cutting down your turnovers and restricting the number of penalties you have unusual to have that's four penalties now in the first period this eagle's landing this eagle's landing christian team i promise you that's not the way they got here three penalties 20 yards already against eagle's landing christian gear has three carries for 15 yards thus far [Applause] throwing incomplete goodness that was not even close not close at all and he had plenty of time to throw as well queen the intended receiver [Music] bush or rush rather i tell you the interesting thing about him he's sophomore this is a young eagles landing christian team very rolling rolling rush looking now throwing got a man out there defense what a terrible accepted what a play or batted down did he intercept it ryan reed reed with the interception he turned into a center fielder there tommy we get another look at his backpedal back pedal and right at the warning track he hauled it in it almost looks like he dropped it at the end watch this got it he hung on there it is yeah okay six 185 pounds senior quarterback ryan reed that's the way you play it sam yep here we go jack harden gonna bring him up still in the wing but now gonna use the direct snap man in motion harden's gonna run it up to about the 25 not a lot there [Music] didn't find very much on that play it was nighttime on that side of the line that time not much over there and he's going to the sidelines is he okay well that's one player you don't want to get hurt no [Applause] brooks bryant is coming into the game and he's a quarterback taking a snap 10th grader yeah [Music] gonna hand it off up the middle across the 25-26 the up back in that offense there andrew minkert on the carry is he going off too hard has come back and minkert's going off all right third down now seven yards to go fellowship christian school out of roswell if you've just joined us in white eagles landing christian in blue completion knocked down at the 30. watch caleb hudgens who doesn't allow any extra yards after that catch [Music] number 22 is right there to make the stop eagles landing christian brings up fourth down fourth down and two gonna kick it away again get the line unbalanced to the right side driving kick gonna be caught and taken at the 36. got a block on the corner missed the tackle and down jalen pearson excellent return here excellent here's another look at him 32-yard kick and a 25-yard return alluded that tackle here's another look at him they set up the return nicely for him [Applause] very careful not to have any blocks in the back or anything they have to call back really i know braden rush brings them up gear the setback [Applause] giving it to gear got a block at the right side up to the 40-yard line down to the 40. when he got there and met by a host of white jerseys and who is there to help him with the quarterback jack harding jack harden there he is playing on defense [Music] he's he's a special player no doubt second down and six gain of four i think both teams have kind of settled in now what do you think we'll see man in motion fake to gear rush is going to run it down to the 30-yard line and enough for a first down down there braden rush sophomore 5-10-185 excellent call by him here he is a nice block there usually got to make the stop on it once again we got the quarterback working hard jack harden yeah making the stop on rush [Music] see his numbers there threw for 12 touchdowns ran for 11 this year well we got a thumbs up now from rush all right yes we did and gear gonna be knocked down at the 25 falls to the 21 but that was uh that was a little misdirection watch how it happens tommy you're right miss direction gets a great block here number 21 grabs him right there makes a stop that's carter isaacs he didn't make that stop he may have been taking it the rest of the way five for 26 now trevor gear gonna get a breath on the sidelines over there second and three there you go down through the 20. that's the punt returner there jalen pearson pearson yeah pearson down for a first down inside the 21 yard line all right the nose of the ball is is at the 20.

denied that time they changed the blocking scheme on the right side seemingly sent him in motion and stopped it a little bit right in mid motion and then gear goes the last 21 yards let's read the kick to the point after kick is up and kick is good eagles landing christian seven to nothing here's the technical college system of georgia instant replay yep he's in there yep he's in there simply wouldn't be denied there you see the blocking he cuts it up good right there behind sean queen good blocking by the wideout sean queen there and there's a good look at trevor gear being recruited for nine offers a senior old dominion in navy teams uh report to be at the top of his list possibly gear six carries 47 yards his first td of the day five plays 43 yards time of possession 207. gear has three carries 32 yards so we're seeing eagles landing christian get on the board first in spite of some some penalties some things that had them losing yardage in this early stages of this football game they're still able to get down the field and draw first blood that offense executing that line executing so well now you want to see how fellowship christian is going to be able to come out and respond let's read a kick going to drive it down there and it's going to be picked up at the 12-yard line here comes fellowship right up the middle got a block up to the 33 yard line now our fellowship christian's going to take over that was ryan reed on the return nice return and a different kind of ball once again you can talk about a veteran kicker nursery who gave you a little something to work with a different type of football different kind of ball on the kickoff you're gonna bounce you don't always know what kind of bounce you're gonna get with it ryan reed handled it very well did here's harvin jack hardin h-a-r-d-i-n go got a man out there complete and up across the 40-yard line ryan reed on the reception let's take a look at it sam yep there's reed brother nice route right here try to get some more yardage just short of the first down there really nice pickup nice nice first down play harden with minkert right behind him double wing formation man in motion gives to maker across the line of scrimmage up across the 40. still shy of a first down though linkard's one of these spark plug kind of guys he's he's kind of short stocky [Applause] and can catch the ball i'm told harden's going to run the quarterback sneak and i'm not sure he got it did he get it he may have gotten it but boy did they pulled him back [Music] let's see yeah he gets the first down yeah they gave it to him [Music] this is this is the type game that fellowship's going to have to play here yep he got up there yeah he did [Music] harden manages the game well and and even coach guess when you look at this football team you know nothing really jumps out at you they're just very methodical they just play hard menkert on the counter breaking tackles up across the 45-yard line that was a texan standoff out there yes it was we have played one here at the georgia dome eagles landing christian overcoming some early penalties and mr gear goes in 21 yards for a touchdown eagles eagles landing they are quite familiar with being here at the state championship five out of the last six years they've been here so naturally i had to ask coach guests this week hey look does your team just expect to be here and do they experience complacency he said actually we preach about complacency all the time and especially during the playoffs he said whether it's fellowship or another team a team can come in and beat us now obviously they're 13-0 and this is a battle of unbeatens tommy sam we've got three more quarters to see who actually comes out as the victor in this state championship tommy thank you nikki and of course it's been a good one so far so far jockeying for position and of course eagles landing christian had a good drive there to win the first quarter hardin from the spread looking got a man out there complete up at the 48 yard line [Applause] trevor lewis on the reception take another look at it sam strong enough to throw this ball out there makes the catch a nice stop 27 cameron guillermo put the catch there from the depth chart there he is sophomore 511 good look at him 180 [Music] wing set in motion gonna run to counter got a block and uh 20 10 5 out of bounds at about the three wow andrew johnson we didn't see that coming 46-yard run excellent call well look at that line look at that work and he picks his way right up through the middle there and the guy that missed him was harrison taylor we talked about him earlier 49 he was right there in the middle johnson got right past it hardin quarterback snake touchdown hardin just went right behind the left the left guard there so we had the 46-yard counter and now the two-yard touchdown there's coach morrell look at it hey he's happy he's not nervous now great way for this team to respond tommy you're coming in their first time playing here eagles landing christian scores first and they come right back down the field excellent drive kick is up and the kick is good let's take a look at the technical college system of georgia instant replay you just get that push kind of good offensive line push seven plays 68 yards two minutes and 18 seconds jack harden takes it the rest of the way and there's a look at jack they give him a cool drink there yeah he's earned it remember down a couple of plays he may be back out on defense well he's one of the leading tacklers today too that's exactly right that is exactly right sam he's a senior it's your last game you know can you play too many plays in your last game tommy no no you can't and uh this you know as i have told everybody when you play that last game you always remember it it may be 30 years from now but you remember that last game and you don't want to leave anything out there and especially if you get a chance to make it to the state championship for your last game hamilton pride better believe it crews made their way down highway 400 and they're here they got it going on well we were asking how they were going to respond and guess what they did they definitely responded right away here's the kick going to bounce out of bounds it's going to come out uh let's see where they're gonna put it sam they're marking that right around about the 13 in the market on the 13-yard line then we got a we got a procedure called on fellowship yeah and they're gonna have to kick it again well the paladins have responded eagles landing christian you've been here before you know this is something you look forward to doing this is our first time but to come back and respond and put six points on the board very important for this team that is definitely what they had to do so john console is going to get a do-over here back at the 35 this time i think he just kind of missed the ball the first time tired that's not gear that's something that's that's the way that's the moment you don't forget huh yeah that's cool you come to the dome you're playing the state championship hey think about it tommy these guys are all watching they know they're on the same field last saturday georgia alabama and florida played here last sunday the falcons and the chiefs play here exactly today is their day today is their time exactly and and that's the the kind of thing you you really you know you can't you can't mimic that no there's no way you could you you know you can dream it and now it's happening let's right here comes hardin brings them up the paladins like to be a little more low-key they're not explosive a little to this and a little to that though they did have a 46 yard touchdown i'm at a yeah touchdown just moments ago arden they're going to run the same thing the other way and it didn't work not this time not this time out there on the stop 44 jonathan youngblood and also harrison taylor watch it outside nothing there there they are 49 and 44 combining for the hit to take down young blood is six foot 215. harden man in motion rolling looking to throw got a man out there first down running up at about the 30 through a 34 yard line ryan reed is one of his favorite targets 58 receptions during the season over a thousand yards and 16 touchdowns nice catch right here 14 yard expect offensively hi uh we need to be able to run the football um we're not we're not running the way i want to be able to run we have one driver we did so we need to get back to that and not worry i mean we're not going to worry about passing too much we need to run the football defensively you're causing commotion we saw two picks that were incredible got the momentum back um how do you feel like your defense is handling their tasks the defense is playing great offense isn't putting them in a good situation uh we need to hold the ball we need to get first downs we need to wear them down that playbook to everything exactly the limits off and that's what we see generally the teams when you're playing a close game sam the teams that makes the good halftime adjustments are the teams that end up winning the game you got to make those great adjustments and obviously fellowship christian here has made some great adjustments now the wing johnson nowhere to go 23-yard line excellent work braden rush 19-yard touchdown run 11 plays 80 yards 4 minutes 19 seconds those are wing t kind of numbers that's a nice way to start the second half yes it is here's mr it's hard to bring down mr gear can get in gear he's a game changer as you well know sand yeah in this much gear here got a good block up front and that is what what coach gets towed nicki on the way to the locker room we got to come out in the second half we got to run the football this is not a large line of scrimmage rush nice solo stop there matt curry who called that number a few times number 50. wasn't fooled on the trying to get free and he tore it out of there and there's fellowship on top of the ball he's doing what he does he's trying to get that extra yard fighting for that extra yard yep and you're taught to do that that's what you're supposed to do keep those legs churning there you go but ryan reed we've seen make so many great plays receiving the football and making an interception is there to knock it loose 13-yard gain then a fumble paladin's back to work here paladin back to work found the seam off the right side [Applause] i'll tell you what those little wing backs will drive you crazy merrick hegler down the line of scrimmage and found a hole at right tackle gain of five peg loser juniors had a good season yeah rushed for 255 yards and five touchdowns making the most of his opportunities even in this game today and we're halfway through the third quarter and eagles landing has had the ball a minute and a half they're keeping the ball away from them with that methodical four-minute plus drive and i think coach morrell wants to talk about it a little bit with his team right now yep i'll tell you what he is uh he is coaching on the sidelines over there offensive coordinators giving instructions and over on the other side defensive instructions and i believe these are solid instructions as i see people being talked to here well the thing of it we're in a tight football game and there's a look at trevor gear nobody feels worse than he does but of course you got to have a short term memory when you play like that in on a game like this you can't sit there and think about it anymore because when you get back out on the field you got to go out and do what you just did you got going for that extra yard it's still a football game it's 14-14 it's not the end of that's what we're looking at this game and i see this game kind of headed in that direction i do too and you know fellowship christian's going to try to keep the ball away from eagles landing eagles landings a little more of a quick strike team and they've got more weapons overall at the skill positions but let me tell you something what we're watching in wyatt is a football team playing with a lot of heart today with a lot of heart wing in motion got a block at the corner and gashed him pretty good down to the 41-yard line somebody's gone to work up front and i think that that point was to happen he had two defenders on him and he's able to shake free and get a couple more yards these running backs and the quarterback are just running through people i mean it's not like they're not getting hit and tackled what's right here and these are good tacklers and hagler just breaks the tackle by young blood who was able to catch him on the second time he missed him the first second and field and he ends up lining up and right about that time the paladins call for the timeout with a minute and 11 to go fourth down and eight and sometimes sam in situations like this eight yards is an eternity it seems like it it does it seems like you can't see the first down you're dying down on this end of your field you're looking on your goal post is over your shoulder and you're looking at the clock he's only got a minute 11 to go whatever you do here you gotta you know you gotta execute and things haven't gone well for the last three or four minutes it's fourth we're down to cases folks braden rush 510 185 complete up at about the 38-yard line had to have it had to have it great call train douglas trey douglas we've heard about a lot on defense but on offense he's made a couple of crucial catches excellent throw stepped out of bounds 104 left first down gonna run the speed sweep again trying to repeat that touchdown run from earlier if you remember they scored on that the it didn't flow well did it 41 seconds left do you have a play in your playbook for this situation i'm sure they do they do let's see if they execute it there you go four-man front same play to the sideline knocked out of bounds yet again short of the first down however 36 seconds left once again to trey douglas here he is with the catch and the push out of bounds that stops the clock got 36 seconds to go now right third and one or third and two rush dropping to throw yet again going to run the screen got another one down to the 13-yard line i'll tell you what this does 25 seconds ready to get in the end zone but also remember field goal and you got one of the best in the state great blocks there great execution rush you can't do that you have to throw it straight down take another look at it it looked real strange if you're going to down it you took it a throw like a pass yeah but see that's intentional grounding you can't do that you have i've never seen anybody do that before they've done it before tommy they definitely have but i tell you what both teams have just performed so well today sam they really have they really left nothing you know on the field and that's what you're supposed to do in the championship game not supposed to leave anything you supposed to put it all out there and play especially these seniors uh you see all the eagles landing guys giving each other a nice embrace a hug before they go out and play we saw them do that in pregame when they're warming up there's something that they do as as teammates as part of the culture with that football program uh now you see coach morrell and you see his staff uh together and and send you guys go back here and let's do it one more time there you go you can go out in this it's overtime period that said somebody else is going to have to beat us we're not going to let number 11 do it and they've done it so far in this possession of overtime and all they have to do now is hang on one more play coming in one team coming here for the very first time ever in the history of the school yeah and coming in and showing yes we belong here 30 years we could play here you know goodness correct and the guy who's going to lead them as they come down to shake hands of the winners once again their leader right out front number 11. yeah and it has to be tough for him this is a bitter setback for him it's your senior you're a senior it's your last game you're going to play yeah every high school career they have got to feel great about the way they have played this football game sam though i tell you this has been a great one the eagles landing christian the the two-time state champions now they've got to be happy with the way they played in the latter parts of the game and and during other parts of the game and fellowship christian schooled out of out of roswell what a great effort they gave today i don't think anybody could ask any more out of either team than we've seen here when you start at 10 o'clock in the morning it's a little different it is a little different a little different these players came out and they approached it just like we approached any other game they prepared all week for this to come in yeah and for a lot of these players there's a chance of a lifetime but they got to come here and perform today great great great first game of championship weekend definitely down to nikki noto on the sidelines nikki coach double overtime game 10 a.m kickoff fellowship gave you a hard time this whole game i mean what can you say about your team's performance ultimately coming out with a win yeah man i love how my boys fight they fought and things didn't go right there in the fourth quarter for us but i obviously want to praise fellowship christian for what a great job that they've done their coach man i said it all week long they're just a bunch of winners they don't die they don't quit and so i'm super proud of them awesome well
