Life from the Georgia Dome.
In Atlanta, Georgia.
The Class Single, a state semifinal now bobcats on duly county take on the.
Tigers from metter.
And good morning everyone and welcome.
I'm John Wilkerson, along with Larry Prater.
Larry, we've got two teams from South Georgia that just love to throw the ball.
How Mumy has been going about a dozen years.
His influence is being felt by both of these teams, but both teams are disciples of Moneyball.
Well, let's talk about the three teams are left in class single yesterday here at the Georgia Dome Punch County just mauled Hopkinsville 36 to nothing led by Lorenzo Kelso's 222 yards and two touchdowns.
Clinch Kelly will now face the winner of this game for the state single-A championship.
And let's talk about this Dooley County team, because I guess you could perceive them as a Cinderella team, but they don't want to be perceived that way.
A lot of the papers today are saying Dooley County should win.
2700 yards passing the ball.
They pass a set up the run, 2500 yards rushing.
20 touchdown passes on the season.
They were four and six at the end of the regular season.
They're led by their quarterback, Chad Ryan.
Chad Bryant was third time quarterback at the beginning of the season.
Now he's a star.
And let's hear from Head coach Bill Clark.
Well, offensively, you know, we're going to come out and try and spread them.
Out and see what we can do with them.
As far as throwing the ball around and getting into our speedy receivers.
And we've got two very good running backs, three that.
You know, with, you know, count on.
And if they're going to allow us to run, we're going to run.
But we specifically, we want to throw the ball.
And defensively, we will get a base out of a43.
We're going to try and take away the passing game and put some pressure on them.
Different things from blitzing linebackers or know zone blitz and with an in and sending it back in there or you know, just in six at a time.
Now, let's tell you about the Tigers, a team that came to the Georgia Dome last year in the state semifinals, going to lose the building.
And they're hoping this year they have a successful trip.
They brought a 14 year old ninth grader in the starting quarterback and for 30 minutes he struggled.
The second 30 minutes he starred and he starred ever since.
And he's back again.
That's Zach Sanford, a 15 year old sophomore, and he's one of those special kind of kids.
To school records.
And he's only 15 years old, 2400 yards passing, 28 touchdown passes.
What will he do in the next two years?
Let's hear from him better head coach Robby Robinson.
Well, we're going to pretty much do what we've done all year.
Offensively, we pride ourselves on being balanced.
We're blessed that we've got a great quarterback that's just a sophomore making the second start in the dome.
He's got a great core receivers to throw to.
Some games we have six, seven receivers, coach, football force and then we also complement that with a strong running game.
Our tailback Ricky Green has over 600 yards rushing.
And, you know, if you focus on trying and trying to shut one of our areas down, then we can get you with the other one.
So.
So we want to be balanced and spread to feel out in and try to get our thing going defensively or an attack.
Five man front.
We're going to see some sets today that's going to make us adjust.
You'll see us sometimes take out an extra defensive lineman, bringing a fifth defensive back, sometimes a 60 fantasy back to go to a nickel and dime packages.
So.
So we'll have our work cut out for us stopping that Dooley offense.
Let's introduce you to the third member of our crew down the field, Lisa.
Good morning, Lisa.
Good morning, gentlemen.
You can refer to Julie County as a lot of things, but don't call them a Cinderella team.
Even though they dropped their first five games of the season, they had a tough schedule playing teams like Crystal County and Thomasville, which were on higher classifications.
Head coach Bill Clark told me they could have easily been nine and four, but they had a lot of obstacles to overcome at 15 feet venue.
Way to turn the ball over while in the red zone.
Even better of coach Robbie Robertson said, Hey, this is no Cinderella team.
They're tough.
It's going to be a cat fight to the end.
Gentlemen, back up to you.
And the cat fight is about ready to start.
We're going to kick this thing off.
Right after this.

Welcome back to the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
We're going to kick off the class single state semifinal between Dooley County and Miller.
Julie County will receive first Franz Hendricks and kick off for better for the Tigers and Back Deep is Fentress Mathis and Travis Taylor for Dooley County.
And Larry, I'm looking forward to this and this should be a fun one.
The Bobcats.
The Tigers and of the campaign and it's a ground ball field.
Anybody on the up bat.
That's Deontay BURNETT and he'll take it up to the 40 yard line.
And that's where the Dooley County offense will start.
You take a look at quarterback Chad Bryant.
He took over as the starting quarterback at midseason and he's done a great job over 1000 yards, passing ten touchdowns, five interceptions.
He stepped in and really made this Dooley County offense go first and ten one just beyond the 40 yard line.
And they're start off in shotgun.
And a quick handoff to number seven, Antonio Lester, who picks up five before he's brought down by Metters Ricky Mincey.
The offensive line for Dooley County and a big one, Nathan Smith is £350 at the line averages £280.
It's a load.
As you take a look at the rest of the offense, we'll call Burnham's name out a lot.
Both on offense and defense.
Again, how the shotgun second down and five and Burnham gets the.
Handoff back here they struggle to the 50 yard line close to the first down.
Oh, Larry, the helmets are poppin right off the bat.
Number nine is Scooby.
He is their leader.
He's their spiritual leader.
He's the he's the core of their team.
Take a look at the matter Defense Air Charlie Smith LAMB And bags that LAMB and defensive line is a good one and the rest of the linebacker and the defensive.
Backs third down and one.
Under center.
Herndon gets the handoff gets the first down a lot more across the 4445 yard line.
A big run by Gordon Eric Williams forces him out of bounds last week.
He scored three touchdowns in the fourth quarter.
They scored 30 to win against commerce.
He is low, six foot tall, £240.
He's the star on offense and defense.
And he'll bring up a first down and ten from the 35 Dooley County moving quickly on their first.
Offensive possession of the game.
The handoff goes.
And it'll be no gain to Antonio Lester.
He'll get a yard perhaps.
And that's it.
Right down by Ricky Mincey.
Even though they pass the ball a lot, John, they're very physical.
They pride themselves in what they have done in the weight room and they're going to try to hit you.
Well, this sixth straight year in the playoffs for Dooley County, the first year in single-A in quite some time.
They moved down from Double-A last year, second down and nine down and reverse and a fumble.
And he's in trouble.
That's dangerous.
Mathis, Mathis, trying to make something out of nothing.
It just might do it.
He'll get to the 20 yard line.
What a run by Mathis and Tony Byrd on the tackle.
What a play.
An effort, indeed.
And sometimes words just can't describe things.
And that's one of them.
You always want to be the first team to run a gadget play.
Trick play was wide open for a touchdown, little poor execution and now they make up for it with great effort.
Had a key block right here.
See if we can see it.
Don't get a number.
Want to help?
Well, this.
Dooley County offense is getting the best loss.
Mid air defense right off the bat.
No, don't mind us for these guys.
No.
And you wonder if it's happening to matter again first and ten.
And a half comes over the head of Bryant and he'll just fall on it.
Smartly all the way back to the 35 yard line.
Geoffrey Clifton came in to make sure Chad Bryant was down, but that was a big mistake there.
Both coaches talked about execution.
They felt like they could come out, keep things under control and not have major mistakes, that they'd be fine.
But here we go.
Two problems this first quarter.
Well, one misses.
This one was famine.
Second down and 28 now.
Shotgun for the wide receivers.
Why this one?
And he's going to go long and has to play oh what a hit complete the.
Antonio Lester and he just got blocked and he's not getting up for a while okay.
Okay.
Just got the wind knocked out of him.
That was a hit.
Believe is Jessie Hatton.
Then lay down the law.
But here he is again.
31 yards.
Great.
Pass right on the money.
Wow.
Oh, that was a hit right here.
Legal here.
Actually was Eric Williams have made the hit number 14.
And great concentration do you notice how the coaches got out there immediately they knew.
They knew he was not getting up.
That can be helpful.
There he is.
He's he's on speed.
He's in great shape.
He was seeing lights.
At the Georgia Dome lights for a while.
Well, it's good to see him up and sees a sophomore in a vital part of this offense and but it puts Dooley County on the doorstep first and goal from.
The five under center, said Brian.
And his offensive moves.
Wonderfully on their first possession and gave it to on the back and.
Lewis burden on the carry maybe got back to the line of scrimmage Ricky Green on the tackle remember.
This Dooley County Bobcats have already shown us what they're made out of the very resourceful and they will not give up.
They were down 22 to nothing last week in the fourth quarter, came back and won 3222 against Thomas.
This is a mentally tough team.
They started out the season one in six and people wrote them off.
They ran off six straight wins.
What a run they're having in the playoffs.
Here they are at the Georgia Dome.
Second down gold from the six shotgun in triumph.
He's looking to throw.
All his wide open touchdowns.
Touchdown Jay Smith.
By Jay Smith.
The tight end.
And just like that it's six nothing duly counted Let me ball at his best.
Five wide receivers they run everybody everywhere One guy comes clean.
A six yard touchdown pass by Chet Bryant has given Dooley County the lead.
Not unusual for you deep fans to be a little unsure in the opening drive and they're going for two.
However flag flies.
Play a game took a little long to get wrap people in kicking game is not a strength is real weakness for the Bobcats.
Dead ball substitution on a defense we played down on Williams is a referee capital city.
Officiating crew.
Great great group of guys.
So they'll go have a second attempt at the two point conversion and coach.
The illegal substitution was against matter.
Coach Clark had told us as we seen more flags fly and told us that earlier this morning that if they are in this position, they will be going for two then more illegal substitution.
All the defense a game officials from the capital city officials association here to mark Williams time out on defense and matter we'll call timeout.
Say coach Robbie Robinson their defensive coordinator it's Waynesboro won a state championship his defense led the way very smartly the matter administration hired him brought him the matter and he's had him at the Georgia Dome two years in a row.
Tell me about this better defense, because they do pride themselves in their defense and Coach Robinson.
But having Dooley County marched down the field like that in the first possession.
Very you know, it's really not uncommon.
It takes a while for your defense to pick up the speed, the quickness.
And, you know, here again, I wouldn't call it dynamite just yet, but Maryland's up a52.
Looks very simple.
It's very plain.
But what they are doing is disguising everything that they're doing.
They will attack as an attacking defense.
Well, if you're enjoying the GHC football, live from the Georgia Dome, show your appreciation by becoming a member of TV log on to our website at WW w dot dot org.
It's easy, totally secure and only takes 2 minutes and still be WW that GPB Oregon thanks for supporting high school football or high school sports, I should say on TV they're going for two prior to the big guy Burnham and he may have been stopped and he is stopped by that metal defensive line.
A whole gang of orange there to stop him look like Biggs and LAMB were involved.
He is the go to guy, £240 fullback.
And here we go, John.
The replay Oh here's.
Here's a touchdown Bryant all sorts of protection That's a big line And he finds Jay Smith just wide open in the end zone, although he had to head to stretch to catch that.
Excellent vision Bryan is moving it shows his mobility and great vision to pick him up and find him.
And that offensive line from Dooley County, I mean, £280 are averaging and they are protecting their quarterback very well.
Did you take a look at Coach Robinson?
Well, nine plays 60 yards up over 5 minutes.
Jay Smith of the six yard touchdown reception and the two point conversion failed, six nothing.
Centennial caller caller is getting ready to kick off for Dooley County and.
Matter has a excellent kicking game They turn five kicks four touchdowns this year so the Bobcats know it and you'll probably see some kind of a squeal kick.
Keep the white bird is back deep.
The receiver and he'll take it after 11 tries to play he's got out.
Forced out of bounds at the 35 yard line and that's where Miller will take over.
He had a seam had a crease.
He has four, four speed.
Almost broke it.
Excellent for the opposition.
Take a look at that.
Stanford.
He's a 15 year old sophomore led matter here last year as a 14 year old freshman school records in yards and touchdowns and he is one of those special players.
Coach Robinson couldn't say enough about that.
Stanford is one heck of a quarterback.
And in two years, first year in high school, he's led the Minner Tigers to.
The Georgia Dome first down and ten from the 34 out of shotgun Stanford to throw.
Incomplete intended for Octavian Henderson are on the coverage.
This is Moneyball at its best shotgun rip gun polecat whatever you want to.
Call it the offensive line for matter the average £215 Bo Youngblood at 250 is the biggest and the rest of the offense.
We'll hear from Ricky Green.
He's an outstanding tailback, runs a46 40 and has over 1500 yards rushing, trading out a shotgun, looking down.
And ten and the handoff goes to Ricky Gray Green gets across the 40.
To about the 43 yard line where he's brought down by Chris Thomas of Dooley County, one of the Dooley County defense.
And it's a good one.
They've gotten a lot better in the last few games.
Hunt, Ingram, Thomas and Hayes have a good defensive line.
They'll run a four, three, four.
Burden is exceptional, and the secondary has improved throughout the year.
All the information Stanford gives it the green again and a roll across the 45 to about the 47 yard line up.
His coordinator is Rhett Robinson, Robbie's brother.
He said they wanted to keep it simple, not make many mistakes, open it up, make it look complicated, but do some simple things, gain some confidence, and get their feet under them.
Second down.
I'm sorry.
First and third one in the 45 written green on the pitch up.
Maybe two yards brought down by number 25.
Seamus Lester this bobcat defense is trying to set the tempo right off the bat.
Physical hitting, moving.
Coming up.
And well let me know that this defense ready to play only gain a yard so bring up second down in 921 Touchdown We're pretty Ricky out of the shotgun.
Second dove That's it for Texans He's going long Got a man to bird and it's incomplete.
Right defense.
Davis Lester was there That ball hung up forever it seemed like Larry.
He he's got an arm just a sophomore, 15 years old.
Unbelievable.
Reading the defense going from deep to short.
He's got a deep man open and he has a gun.
Bird could have Antoine.
Bird could have played fair catch on that one and allowed Jarvis Lester to come back and knock it out of his hands out of shotgun.
Third down and eight Stanford going again complete.
No incomplete intended for Octavian Henderson.
Great effort from lock haven lay out stretch just couldn't quite bring it in.
But Travis Taylor there on the coverage.
Brings up a fourth down punting situation and see if they kicked to these twin safeties.
A lot of speed back there.
See if he kicks it out of bounds.
Antoine Bird will be back to punch for the matter.
Tigers to Travis Taylor back deep to do it good high kick and fair catch is called play by Dangerous Mathis So Dooley County will have another opportunity on offense.
They drove down the field for a touchdown on their first offensive possession is the matter of defense.
Larry settle down after that first.
Stop, I think will be they only had to go 60 yards, did a great job of overcoming two fumbles and a couple of mistakes and they still got in the end zone.
Matter has got to settle down now.
So you start to see Coach Robinson, defensive coordinator, pulling out all the stops, try to pin them up down here in bad field position, try to get one.
Of those fumbles first down instead, in the 17, the pick goes to Lester that's going across the 20 to about the.
23 yard line, but down by Matt Lanier and Lee DICKERSON.
Mr. Dooley County squad has tremendous speed.
They don't have tremendous numbers.
They are only 26 players dressed out.
So they might be a problem later on.
Antonio Lesser, with 256 yards on the year, is just a sophomore runner.
A lot of good backs and speed on this Dooley County to end size took down and.
Three for Dooley County.
And that's the reality bird and he's brought down for a.
Big loss.
And a facemask he looks.
Like a facemask penalty as well.
Remember, they had at least five yards to that.
Philip LAMB and Matt Lanier stopped them, but it's going to cost them some yardage.
Here we see the replay, John.
They've got him wrapped.
Oh, that's a major.
That Philip LAMB.
They're grabbing the first personal facemask on the defense 15 yards, first down.
Coaches are so leery of major mistakes.
Early in the ballgame, Dooley has made two major mistakes and overcome them to see if matter can overcome this major facemask penalty.
So Dooley County has a first down to 36 yard line.
I was shotgun two receivers actually three receiver try.
Back to throw and here.
Comes manor hill toss it back to Lester Lester has room to run.
Lester's across the 35 to 30 and knocked out of bounds by Eric Williams another big gainer for Dooley County.
And I guess the matter defense could not recover.
Chad Brat, how resourceful great vision they need to put number seven on him.
Just a little dump out to Lester and Lester does the rest of all speed he a perfect alley.
Never got lost on defense.
Williams came down 43, 63 yards.
Reception quiet on the shotgun.
Let's go again.
This time he couldn't catch it right on the burning.
And so Dooley County will have a second down and ten.
They're given the ball a lot Dantonio Lester Larry.
Everything is coming off of the play action play fake to Deontay.
So right now Deontay is being used as a decoy.
Yeah, Scooby almost worked on him.
Scooby everybody in south Georgia calls him Scooby.
They know him.
He's a legend.
In central and south Georgia.
Take a ten man movement left tackle.
Jumped.
Timothy Sutton Big £275 tackle.
T.j.
The right level.
Illegal procedure on our offense we play it down.
And we're able to watch on to see coach Bill Clark their head coach you see they watched the game yesterday on TV sort of got a feel for it and just understood, you know, everybody can do this very cool and calm.
You got to be impressed with Dooley County.
They haven't missed a beat offensively and.
A couple of really good coaches and Bill Clark and Robbie Robinson.
Coach Clark was an assistant about our state with our moment.
One told me to do a county two semesters of 16 yards on the shotgun, play on second and 15.
And grass not throw and this time to get more on the line and has a big game across the play the 15.
Flights to about the 13 yard line well escape ability Ricky Green there on the stop and it's a first down for Dooley County and this was just all Chad Bryant.
20 yards they list him as a four for 40 he is quick has to have a great leg strength to him out of a sack like that had three tacklers he should be.
500 yards rushing on the year four.
Point first and ten.
And they give it to Lester and that's just hot in the backfield.
I'll be thrown for a loss.
Philip LAMB there redeems himself from that facemask.
Matters, doing a great job on defense on first down.
They've got a great tendency on what's going on and they are playing to that.
I think it's run, blitz, stop the run.
Now they've got to shore up their pass defense.
There you see Phil up 137 tackles 15 and a half quarterback sacks.
He is the most active player on that matter defense.
So it's second down and.
16 after the one.
Yard loss that Bryant how to shut down four receivers Bryant.
Back to throw the protection got up five and it's incomplete juggled by did Chris Mathis he had time he had protection and Mathis just couldn't bring it down.
Mathis got over 1100 yards he's got the school record he was the first receiver to to go over a thousand yards.
Oh, most he could have walked in four touchdown four or five speed.
Had it as Mitts.
But couldn't haul it.
And he's already qualified to go get a college scholarship.
3.2 grade point average and 800 and team good student.
Three receivers on the near side, one on the far side of the field on third down and 16 on the shotgun.
And Bryant will throw for the end zone touchdown.
But Travis Taylor well timing pattern Yeah and it's 8 to 12 then nothing do it.
18 yard touchdown pass caught him in man coverage He just ran the fade Colbert at the line of scrimmage just an automatic looked in at the quarterback and they decide if he's going to run a quick slant or run the fade.
Here we're going for two again, as they say, they'll be going for two.
Not much of a kicking game, but.
Two days to go.
BRYANT And he'll go down.
So another unsuccessful two point conversion number 32, for matter, Justin Diggs involved.
These Bobcats are exciting talked to several coaches yesterday and they said they felt Dooley would probably win the ballgame.
Here's a touchdown pass.
They were four and six on regular season.
But you know what, John?
They're undefeated in the playoffs.
And that's what counts.
Bryant Taylor And you said that was something they called it the line of scrimmage.
Yes.
They'd rout and call it a ATL.
Reed and Chad Bryant loves it.
He's having fun.
He likes playing in the bright lights in the big city.
Now you see why he's the feature player.
He is having a feature game and we're still in the first quarter.
Until you look at the numbers for of Travis Taylor school record receptions just over 1000 yards.
Nine touchdown passes.
And he caught the big one right there, seven plays, 58 yards, 19 yard touchdown reception as Michael Hayes kicks off the Julie Carrier bird.
That's one third.
And across the 25.
That was Trey Rex.
Excuse me.
You'll get to the 27 yard line.
I call it the 28.
That's where matter will take over.
And I think Zach Sanford needs to do something right here, Larry.
The offense is going to have to pick up the team.
They, you know, you win on defense, but sometimes some Sunday during the game, the offense is going to have to help.
Let's hear from Lisa Lewis.
I met her head coach of head coach Robbie Robinson said before the game started that this do we can any team is not a Cinderella team.
Don't let the record fool you and you know what do we can improve they're not a Cinderella team on first down let's give it the green light this and green will get to the 30 yard line and that's about it.
Yeah.
I'll tell you, Cinderella doesn't wear a glass slipper today.
She's wearing some cleats out there.
The football cleats.
I like what matters.
Doing Coach Rhett Robinson.
Coach Brad Owens up in the press box establish the run, get the defensive pass, rush off a sack and then we'll come back to the pass.
Second down and eight to go pick up by green yard formation.
We get the handoff again then for a couple and that's about it.
Deontay Burnham there on the tackle.
Teams that win win at the line of scrimmage, you're going to have to outhit that football team sometime during the game.
Both teams look to pass the ball, but they are not soft, they are both aggressive.
Ricky Green just ran it 600 yards on the year.
Just a junior, £190 timeout matter.
I'm going to talk about this.
This is an important offensive possession for the Tigers.
You got to get some positives to happen.
Yeah, I don't know.
That is Dooley County doing it but I just at matter just has not gotten their offensive tempo together.
They tried to establish it by running the football here.
A critical situation third down and four.
They want to have everything right.
Let's tell you about what happened yesterday here at the Georgia Dome.
Coach, please come to feed Hawkins for 36 to nothing in the single-A semifinal.
And that in the Double-A Buford over Americus and a game against two defending state champions in the triple-A.
Well, that was Dublin defeating feeding Lady 2213 that game in overtime and another overtime thriller as Thomas County Central defeated Mary's 35 to 34 and then in 20 Parkview shuts out East Cal We had 24 to nothing at the games and it's Saturday morning and it's still Saturday morning as that Stanford is in trouble and throws incomplete.
He was out of bounds.
Right?
He called it.
He stressed and carded.
He just couldn't get his toe down in bounds.
Octavia and Henderson had the ball in his hands.
He couldn't get that foot on the green.
And here you see Zach Stanford under pressure, just inches out of bounds couldn't get that today on.
And Zach Stanford's getting harassed early.
Pressure defensive coaches from Dooley said they want to get him out of his tempo and not lead set his feet to throw passes comfortably.
Antoine Burke for his second ton of the game almost blocked Just did get it off interest Mathis takes it from 35 and down to 31. Who got a clip.
Flagged down Ricky Mincey there at stop them but let's check out the flag.
John Chad Brown quarterback for the County Bobcats.
He's got 92 yards passing in the first quarter.
Illegal use of hands on offense and one back first down we saw in the replay save this Leicester with the with the clip.
As coach Robby Robinson his defensive coordinator his brother Ray its offensive coordinator.
First and ten.
For Dooley County to officer position the two scores so far and they give and still are Thomas Taylor another big game on the first down the third Bobby fumble the football they stripped and Mr. has the football.
And what a big break for the Tigers exactly what they needed.
It's going to be a football game it's a long way from over it the replay John he's got the ball tucked fairly well at loose we'll see it.
Eric Williams with a strip and number 41 Lee DICKERSON on the recovery Got to protect that football first thing the big game like this first and ten for medical.
At the 32 best opportunity game Ricky Green.
Gets hit but spins away Burnham got Deontay Burnham with the initial hit I think Ricky Green is feeling some of the effects of that.
It is.
You know, Dario Ingram makes the tackle.
You take star players sometime during the game, you are going to be matched up against their best player.
And that was Scooby.
Scooby really unloaded, but he couldn't lock up on Ricky.
Ricky did a great job, spin out, get the extra yardage.
It's called get yards, contact.
Second down and five.
It was a five dark pick up.
By Ricky Green.
Stephen's Green, this sort of 30.
Five yard line for Dario Ingram was there to stop him.
Still, the defense is quick.
Little surprise with a minute and take a shot at the end zone.
And the first play of this possession.
Yes, they will for the game's over.
They will take a lot of shots in the end zone.
We are at the end of the first quarter where Dooley County leads matter 12 to nothing.
More football coming up after this.

Welcome back to the Georgia Dome for the second quarter Dooley County on two touchdowns in the first quarter lead 12 to nothing but Miller threatening and on third and five give it to green and he is met rudely by Lewis burden.
Oh Larry that that was a popper right there great.
Here the interesting call on third down but they know on fourth down they could still go for it.
They got two downs to get the yardage, but it brings up a fourth in about six.
So they're going to be interested in play call here.
Really important play call.
They need to get something going, gain some confidence.
Fourth down and seven out of the shotgun sacks can really Cobb gets up and throws.
And Tom played great defense.
And excellent defense by Eric Lee are by James call you're I'm sorry Eric Williams the intended receiver is tweety.
20 for the Bobcats great great anticipation came up almost got the interception.
And boy did he turn that off perfect so thank the state of the county will take over on downs and take a look James Collier as he does for receptions, 45 tackles.
Got a quick question for you, Larry.
What happened?
Couldn't you done a quick kick and maybe get play field position now.
These are two offensive juggernauts.
They go for points.
There's how many ball percentage in.
It.
Give it to Lester.
Lester has a big run again, has a first down, gets just short of the 40, maybe another mark at the 41.
Eric Williams on the tackle.
Got to be impressed with the culture that these kids do the county you're showing first time Georgia down playing on turf and this is your second nature.
I think the turf is a big benefit for us.
Dooley can very fast and play on a fast track.
Hard to catch.
First and ten from the 41 and.
Bryant gives it to Lester again Lester this time is stood up and thrown for a loss.
Justin big on the tackle.
There's a good look at big Justin.
Simpson Tiger look Tiger Pulse.
Very much so as we take a look at the play by Justin Beggs.
I think he was had a read where he could bounce outside or go back inside.
Good containment for this tiger defense.
Was shotgun looking.
To go, oh, jesus, Bryant excellent protection.
Now fires and throws Seattle firm on the reception close to the first down now mark him at the 49 yard line a couple of yards sharp, a couple of yards short.
That love the game plan for Dooley County set up in this scramble that was a plan play for him to break to the right had the receiver split zones over there that ball.
Ricky Mincey was there on the coverage.
Missing the number one tackler.
Third down and two.
Ball to short of midfield up Bryant and he's got to run it and he tested.
Ricky Green on the tackle.
Pretty Ricky great job critical for speed pretty.
Play by Pretty Ricky A little bit of a high snap Larry but this is run all the way.
He is playing three.
There.
Start short sweet play great play come fourth down they're showing punt but lesser you know matter knows his way A you better play the run first.
Michael Hays back.
To kick for Dooley challenge and up.
Tickets on their player moved across the neutral.
Zone Yeah used to hard count came up like his normal and then they shout out a signal use the hard count drama offsides.
And that's exactly what Art Williams tells us.
Robbie Robinson's not thrilled.
He had in his own defense for not.
All the defense goes down, that gives Dooley County a first down.
What a big break.
The stakes.
Well, again.
Championship games.
He says the execution.
Went 163 total yards for Dooley County.
And again, new line first down ten one.
Bryant.
Rolling out looking to throw gets away That's out of bounds at the 40.
Five yard line this.
Quarterback sweep all the receivers return and lock in and try to set up while far miss a plan run all the way.
To Turner actually chased them and Geoffrey Clifton forced them out of bounds as you take a look at Turner couldn't hold them but Clifton Geoffrey Clifton forced them out of bounds and.
Went.
Chad Bryant saw that he was not going to be able to make the corner to get downfield and was hoping one of the receivers would turn and look at him.
Second down and 14 out of a four yard loss by Chad Bryant and right here they come.
And throw almost intercepted that was Ricky Green again yeah.
In position to make that interception Antonio Lester was the intended I.
To put a little air under it held it up a little too long as a dangerous pass little flier right idea we'll come back to that later because he was open.
Meantime, Larry brings up a third and long and you know, they've been overcoming long yardage all day long.
Two of three on third down conversions for a Dooley County.
Great percentage.
Three receivers to the near side of the field on third down and 14 and a flag.
Going to get him on the play again empty seat.
Because then they'll go on offense by your.
Replay down the way they're running their offense maybe they're just backing up.
Give themselves a little more room to operate.
As head coach Bill Clark, Player serves as his own offensive coordinator.
Very help.
Miami was very influential on him.
Was hilarious.
Oh yes.
A great friend still keeps in contact.
No, back third down and 19 Bryant going out again.
Hits away He's got he's got running room.
And it's complete the Lester after 45 a flag flies.
NFL rules You hit him in the paint they're going to throw it so that'll hard own personal foul giving up 15 yards getting.
Another first down but watch again is chanting why does this thing what.
Can you say escape ability speed quickness vision.
Accuracy.
And he will be back.
I'm saving Henderson they're on jazz coverage there ball personal foul laid him on the defense 15 or so his foot was on the paint but just barely.
And another critical mistake by Mr.. Well Larry when do we start seeing that maybe.
Don't mind.
This is back for a second year in a row for the Tigers.
Yes, it is.
Just how much of it is do LA County and how much this team sales as a lot of us have sales who go a.
635 six or 9:00 to 111 and to touchdown.
We took over Porter.
Yeah, he took over at the midpoint of the season.
He was a third stringer.
This signed to.
Lester across the 30 plus to 25 and that's it brought down by Jesse.
Cadden great call a first down Get Lester to the ball in in open space wide sweep.
On this drive Dooley County has a count for 3/1 downs on penalties by Mr. so matter really shoot themselves on the foot this time around.
So be interested to see if the small numbers are going to be a factor during the course of the games.
If Kenny can maintain this pace.
I think his strategy here, the way up the score is if fatigue becomes a factor for him on the carry lays down to hit plays, find another hit and get it across the floor.
He just short of 15.
Looking like a holding call on the Bobcats call it run and send it to of the corner wide receiver barking for him maybe holding.
And it is holding against Dooley County.
But how about that run by Deontay Barton he was just laying down the law punishing these DB.
There you see he he does he reminds you of he's just a he's a low tier £40 iron here Hayward.
Craig Hayward.
Craig Hayward.
That's a blast from the past.
Yes.
Well, I'll tell you some of the.
Oh, yeah.
Can you imagine being £160 defensive back.
And seeing Burnham come in?
That's a.
Look.
That helmet.
He has his battle scars.
You got the red cape and say l.a.
Coaches talk about how great a kid he is.
What?
Later.
Take it down in 14.
Right?
He's going to the end zone and it's incomplete.
But Travis Taylor, the intended receiver.
Came back with a fade route that he scored on earlier in the game, put a lot of air under it.
Well, not only his receiver will be able to get it.
And a little bit too much air on that one.
It was well out of bounds.
Bring up third and 14 and take care.
Bye has been very exciting.
And again now he was the third string quarterback heading into the season took over the job mid-season and it's just been spectacular.
He's racked up the win.
70% passer.
I mean normally if he gets quarterback above 55, you're doing great.
He's 70% accuracy.
Third down, 14.
84 and four receivers on one side.
Of the field right away.
But the 25 year old man got the first down.
I tell you, John.
He's almost uncontainable today.
Jesse hadn't there to stop him here it is again and watch Chad Bryant put on the show.
Just unbelievable.
He's just a Mini-Me of Michael Vick.
I mean, that is exactly Michael Vick at the class level, a junior in high school.
His composure.
14 yards rushing today, the shotgun.
First down to Bryant.
You're going to feel the further and.
Further makes the catch.
He's coast another first down as he goes across the ten to perhaps eight yard line.
Matt Lanier on the stop he had the hit just beyond the eight to get the first good.
Ran all the wide receivers tape and they let Barnum escape out of the backfield and just hook up right in the middle of the formation that'll be it's got to be Reid.
Just let him get open.
Give him the ball short.
Let him run it for the defense.
They are just short of the first down time out.
Dooley County.
How big is that?
Five yard penalty down there on the punt.
They had him start and now here they're coming back on.
That's Coach Bill Clark talking to his offense.
Well, let's tell you about what's going to happen later today here at the Georgia Dome.
Another full slate of games from the class, from the state semifinals right after this.
Greater Atlanta Christian takes on early county.
And I'm looking forward to seeing Jesse on this turf.
Mike Andrews, he's an exciting running back, screaming county in Gainesville.
We've got elephants and the Gamecocks go at it in the triple play at 3:00 in the quad, a game the Raiders from Shore take on the Thompson Bulldogs.
The winner of this game will host the state for the state championship at 6:00.
Kick off and after that the quick the Brooklyn Broncos 12 and one take on the Camden County Wildcats at the 9:00 kickoff.
Camden County, fresh from their upset of the Stephenson Jaguars Brookwood back at the dome.
What a storyline that would be a Brookwood one place part B for the state championship in Gwinnett County.
What a storyline.
That would be awesome.
But good luck to Camden County as well.
First down, I'm sorry, second down short Burnham in the backfield and he won't even get back to the line of scrimmage.
Roll call let's ball ten football players on their stack.
Lamar Dunlap on the stop and when you got a player as big as Deonte Burnham, you need roll call.
Yeah that's what he culture players his first guy you lock up a hang on and wait for help your guys get there in a hurry swarm to the ball he will go with the replay.
Six foot £240.
A lot of willpower.
Wow, he's strong.
Lamar Dunlap and another shirt.
He never went down.
Stopped them on progress.
Third down and five.
Bryant to the end zone picked off by Octavia and Henderson.
And so for the first time, Larry Dooley County forced out its fourth.
They're going to go for it again.
They will they'll throw put it up.
Another shot in there.
Watch for some, maybe a draw play.
Spread it out.
Run that quarterback draw.
Bryant has been real effective.
Run the ball no backs and let him just pick a hole and run.
Pull another Michael Vick.
Mathis and Smith were together there in in the end zone yeah was perfectly into the crowd boy go five.
There it is John.
No back no back.
Four receivers to the wide to the far side of the field.
Jay Smith on an island by himself and boy it.
Will keep it and Brian hits out for a first down They'll call him out two but we have a penalty flag and a holding against Dooley County.
Well, even though that play doesn't count.
Yeah.
What had Bryant Excel about last year?
Just, you know, tip toe with them on replay.
Fourth down.
Here we go.
You got the replay, John?
You say speed and then.
Oh, little bit of a wiggle and then the tip toe.
No, no, no, no, no.
Up.
Coach Robinson, really concerned.
You see this defense getting eaten alive by that offensive line of Dooley County.
Again, the average £280.
Yeah.
This is a play college.
I think the county has just been unbelievable.
Fourth down and about 21.
How many more magic beans have they got in their bag.
With Chad boy at the helm?
They might have a few more.
Again, the four receiver set.
Here they come.
And Brian is nowhere to go.
As Miller comes on a jailbreak, breaking mincey led led the massive Miller defenders.
Use it like you say it's all out blitz everybody coming in There's nowhere to run, nowhere to hide.
Justin begs also and boy, what a perfect opportunity to bring the house.
Great job in the preseason all state linebacker he leads the team in tackles.
So matter will take over on downs and hope and matter really need to get some positive yardage on this offensive possession for down to under 3 minutes Zach Stafford in the shotgun throws complete.
Rookie three great play calls and on the.
Go on the screen green will be close to the first down.
With a spot outside the goal spot and little shorts Great play call run everybody.
The middle screen about a four or five yard completion Real simple.
Deontay Burnham on the stop.
Oh big part of this matter game plan is to get him keep him blocked do not want him to be unloading of their skill people.
Well it's a first down.
You're going to bring them very close.
I thought I saw ah Williams motion the first down, but now he's going to bring the sticks.
Had a team meeting after the feel football game of the season and the Scooby was ringleader of the team meeting and rallied.
The troops got all ten seniors on the same page and the rest is history.
Here they are at the Georgia Dome.
He had 12 to nothing.
Scooby is trying to earn his Scooby snacks in this game.
Yeah.
What he's going to do next.
He's all over the field.
It's a first down.
For Minner, and before that, a shotgun with the Texans and a.
Short hop it to the is intended receiver Octavian Harrison.
I think Zack is trying to do too much.
He's tried to throw completions you see here on the replay he's trying to throw it exactly to the receivers, trying to be too accurate, trying to be too careful just with that, throw it.
The blockers have got a block.
The receivers have got to catch it for you.
Everybody's got to play together as a team.
We talk about the maturity of the 15 year old, but could this be a part where he's in the big time atmosphere?
Maybe even though he's still 15 years old, he's just out here.
It's a key.
It's game coaches.
All coaches are settling down.
You remember last year against Bay Out and he had a great second half to two touchdown passes.
He will calm down.
But coach Robby Robinson says he's one of those special kind of kids that rarely come along.
You get maybe once every five, ten years fires incomplete.
Henderson again, the intended receiver just behind him.
Great pass, great routs, great protection.
It was barely tripped up like a linebacker, got a finger on it, throws the last second, threw it off.
Here we go.
We'll see the replay now.
The shotgun.
Good protection.
Great protection.
Ricky Green, step up.
Picked up a blitz.
Yeah, he hit at the last moment.
He didn't pick up a number there, bring up third down and ten.
This team as a 14 year old to the dome and there's a 15 year old they're back and Stanford looking to run and it's pummeled coverage.
So it is a coverage sack number 56 Jan Tobias Cherry there two knockdowns extant.
For Dooley lined up in a zone defense He knows exactly where he's going to go in on the snap they rolled it around to man coverage man free with a free safety had double coverage they could get rid of the ball.
Great.
So matter will have to punt.
Antoine Bird and Tom Bird will do the honors.
Gives that credit for holding on the ball and not throwing the interception.
Well, Travis Taylor and Ventress Mathis back deep wobbly kick their catch called and they'll go out of bounds.
Yeah under pressure they had a rush.
Out of bounds and be marked at the 36 yard line of Dooley County.
Well, minutes 16 to go second quarter 12 nothing was Bill Clark do well well we'll hear that from you a little later but right now let's go down the field and listen.
We now, as you as you know, this is Dooley County's first trip to the Georgia Dome.
But you can't tell by the way they're playing because they look like they're pros here.
Now, the whole community, Vienna's behind them 100%.
And they're so thrilled.
The agency did an article about how there's only 3000 people in this community, but they've all pulled together all the way down to buying them their turf shoes for this game That's Antonio Lester on the carries cut from behind by Ricky Menzies.
There must be some magic shoes there, Larry.
Magic beans.
Magic shoes.
They're just, you know, almost playing possessed, having a great game.
Dooley was able to keep the ball on the last drive.
7 minutes in that 10 seconds.
So they you know, they're starting to get a tempo.
I think they'll come back up this second half, regroup.
Well, with the dwindling numbers that they have, they need to slow down the tempo to keep everybody fresh.
No, no.
You want to pick up the tempo.
I think they've been playing that too slow.
A tempo myself.
Did get out of that hill quick and wear down this Dooley County team.
Now the shotgun Chad Brian on second and 13 little shovel pass to Farrell and he's thrown for a loss.
Well, the matter of defense is really starting to assert itself now.
They've calmed down that linear now.
And Jeffrey Clifton there for the Tigers.
Do they don't they run a two minute offense all the time, run that Utah pass, get a big play, get the thing going better, wants to call a timeout.
So that they can maybe block a punt and get a big play better.
We use all their timeouts here to try to get a big play, get some points before halftime.
You'll know this.
Who's famous for that Utah pass legal scare?
Exactly.
Legal?
Yes.
Utah players from the University of Utah.
Well, what is Coach Robinson telling his defense right now?
Hey, guys, we've got a chance to get back in this football game.
If one of you can make one big play, let's play as a team.
Let's pick it up.
Let's get tempo.
Understand?
We've got to hold them here.
Call another timeout and then let's walk a punt all at rush that's taking emphasis.
And what is Coach Clark telling us?
Do the kids.
They don't have better has no timeouts lay off?
So we want to we're going to try to get a quarterback sweep, you know, hold the ball, run as much time off, tuck as we can, and then we might go forward on fourth down.
So that matter will not be able to get football back.
They've got two downs to run out the clock.
18 seconds to go.
Chad Bryant out of the shotgun.
Yeah, sweet down.
Like a lot of bounce.
He might get a pass.
And he does get a first and he goes out about 12 seconds left.
Oh.
You see the coaches kind of companies are dropping your head kick believe he stepped out of bounds.
Forced he's actually short.
And they're not showing they're not short punt.
So if they try to do a quarterback sweep and just run out the time.
And look at Coach Clark on his quarterback Yeah, he made the mistake right in front of his coach to step on the white line.
Michael Haynes is back.
The punt I said a while ago, it's still a kid's game.
So matter will get another opportunity.
With 12 seconds left and a career high kick that Rick oh oh he dropped it no signal fair catch.
Okay.
I do not see that.
Yes.
Okay.
There it is.
Here, as he was running back to the football, he got that hand up.
It's sort of disguised promise up here.
Here we go.
There you go.
Real quick.
This guy's really quick.
But it was there.
It was legal.
So 4 seconds matters.
Got time for one Hail Mary Stanford.
Have that kind of arm.
Well, Matt, look for a hook in a ladder, you know, short completion and then a lateral.
Hook and looking lateral.
Let's play the first half.
Stanford.
The down pretty good at all he figures to.
Be tipped up and dropped for an interception interest.
Mathis knocked it up in the air and then complete.
We're at halftime here at the Georgia Dome.
What a first half by the Dooley County Bobcats as we take a look at that last play, the Hail Mary.
About 60 yards in there, John.
That's a heck of an arm to interest Mathis there to knock it away.
Do you take a look at Chad Bryant?
What a first half he had for this Dooley County Bobcat team as they go in the locker room up 12 to nothing and matter.
I don't know if it's Dominus.
But this night struggled a little bit.
Yeah, just no tempo on offense.
All the offense has had to carry the load.
Just like last year.
And after the first quarter, the defense is settled down, is doing a fairly effective job offense is going to have to move the ball.
Let's go down the field at least a week now.
Coach Clark, when you guys had to buy your first two positions, you came out firing and scoring.
But it seems that you're getting a little pressure in the second quarter.
What adjustments are you going to make in half?
Well, we just got to go back and tell the kids execute because the plays we were calling were there.
We just didn't execute the plays.
Oh, the kids are playing pretty hard right now and they're playing pretty hard on the outside the ball.
But, you know, we just got to go back and focus a little bit better in the second half because we didn't secure the ball at one time and the passing passing plays were there.
We just got to execute.
What can you say about quarterback Chad Bryant?
My God, this kid looks like a cool cat running this offense.
He's an Eagle Scout back in a good quarterback for us.
And we know back when we lost a quarterback.
So I had an idea who was going to be the guy when we got playoff.
And he's he's got to step up a bit, man.
All right, Coach, thank you.
Good luck in the second half.
Gentlemen, back to you.
Thank you, Lisa.
And we're going to take a timeout here at halftime.
Julie Carey leading 12 to nothing.
We'll be back after this.
You're watching football on TV.
Welcome back to the Georgia Dome.
We're at halftime.
We're really kind of we met our 12th and nothing.
You're looking at the marching cats of the Julie County High School marching band there under the direction of Manuel Gordillo and their drum majors, our mission house more and Andrew Felton their performance their 30 member strong and their performance for today get down tonight and respect let's enjoy the merchant cats from Dooley County High School.
That was the marching cats from Dooley County High School.
Putting on a good show.
Let's hear from Lisa.
We sat down the meal.
You have to be excited with the way your.
Band just rocked down the house.
You know, they did a really good job and we're proud of them.
They've been really excited to be here all week.
The hotel's and excited.
And I think it's just the chance of a lifetime for these kids coming from the small town of high school.
As a small town of our population, a little under 3000 talk little bit about how this community has come together to support these cats.
Well, the football team I know needed turf, shoes and other equipment for this game, and the community pitched in and businesses donated a bunch of money.
I don't know how much really, but they donated money for that.
And I mean, that's that's it says a lot about community.
And support they have for a football team and they're doing so well in playoffs.
I know this is new for you, too.
You've only been here for four months of Julie County, so this is going to be exciting.
Overwhelming for you as well.
Yeah, overwhelming, definitely.
It's my first teaching job and fresh out of college, so it is definitely an experience.
All right.
Very much.
And good luck.
Let's go back to John.
Thank you, Lisa.
We enjoyed watching that Dooley County band, The Men Are Tiger, five bands coming up.
But first, we're.
Going to take a break because we're at halftime.
You're watching.
GHC Football on.
TV.
Welcome back to the Georgia Dome for halftime was 12 I think.
County over matter on the field right now is the men tiger pride man under the direction of Mark Farmer.
There are 14 members of the band and of course, it's cold and gray outside the one and have a big show.
And that's exactly what Mr. is putting on for us.
So let's enjoy the are Tiger Pride fans and better Tiger Pride Band putting on a show?
And let's hear from Lisa Weise.
There's one lady joining me now who is no stranger to met football.
Her husband just happens to be head coach Robbie Robinson.
Brenda, you've been around this team for a while.
What can you say about what's been going on here today?
Well, it's exciting to be here is our third year in a row to be in the Georgia Dome, our second year with matter in a row with my husband being the head coach.
The year before last, we were here with Waynesboro.
I mean, he was the defensive coordinator and we won the state championship that year.
So we're hoping to do the same again this year.
And as the head coach here and Mr. Robbie's brother is on deep offensive coordinator here and he also has a state championship ring.
So now we have we have one with the big orange stone in the middle of it this year.
So I know it's quite a family affair for you.
Not only is your brother in law and your husband head coach, offensive coordinator, but your kids are also part of the team as well.
Right.
My older son not go over is the ball boy.
He's in sixth grade.
My middle sandbach is in second grade.
He helps out on the sidelines and tomorrow it's his birthday.
This is the third year in a row he celebrated his birthday in the Georgia Dome.
So that's exciting.
They're back.
And of course, they're his major.
He does cheers in the stands with me.
And I'm sure he's hoping that dad's going to get him a win for his birthday.
Right.
Well, thanks so much.
Good luck to you and better.
And your husband half it.
All right.
Thanks.
Back up there.
Do you know what a good looking family?
12 nothing truly county over matter.
Let's take a look at some first half highlights from this last semifinal.
Early on in the first quarter, Miller laid down the ball earlier.
Antonio Lester just be rudely met by Williams boom right there but that didn't deter the Dooley County Bobcats Chet Bryant what a first half for him finds this tight end.
Jay Smith A six yard touchdown six nothing Dooley and more Chad problems.
He finds a Travis Taylor for a 19 yard reception It's 12 to nothing Dooley County and that's your score at halftime.
As we take a look, Larry, at the halftime stats, it's pretty much dominated by Dooley County.
The offense for do the county is their best defense matter just doesn't have the ball I'm going to make anything happen 119 yards passing two touchdown passes 67 yards rush in pretty good make it make it effective for the passing game only 32 yards total for this better football team.
They're a juggernaut.
They'll come back better in the second half.
Chad Ryan's numbers for the first half, 19 yards, two touchdowns.
And we talked about Zach Stanford, one completion the entire first half.
Did you see that time of possession?
16 minutes to seven ball control.
As you take a look at Chad Bryant there, sitting on the bench in the middle of fans hoping for something to cheer about.
You know, are Tigers came back in the second half in last year's state semifinal.
They're hoping the same thing happens again.
As you take a look at Bill Clark, the Dooley County head coach, he's going to be happy.
Oh, they're doing a great job over there.
He and his offensive coordinator see if I can find his name.
I'm sorry.
Jackson Calhoun, offensive coordinator from the press box.
Done a great job.
Got to play defense to start the second half.
Let's throw it down to Lisa.
Coach Robinson, you guys are down 12 to nothing.
There's still a lot of game like play.
What would you tell these kids in half?
We're getting whipped right now.
What resemble what we're capable of playing?
Kind of like deja vu last year there, beating us to the corner defensively.
Well, then, guys, wide open.
We're not getting lined up in the coverages we need to be in offensively.
We're getting whipped up front.
I think we've got 30 yards offense and and Dooley is just proven to be a better team right now because they physically whipping and equipping us with their speed and and we've got to come out and we've got to be able to play.
We've been in this situation before.
We were down 12, not the last week.
We've been down and several other games.
So we're capable of doing it, but our guys got to get their minds up.
It is time to play and let's get it done.
All right, coach, thank you very much.
Good luck in the second half.
Back up to you guys upstairs.
12, nothing as we get ready to start the second half.
And we'll do that after this.

Watching GHC football on TV.
Welcome back to the Georgia Dome.
We're getting ready to kick off the second half.
Dooley County leading metter 12 to nothing to the happy triple so far for the Dooley County Bobcats.
Larry, in talking with Coach Robertson, he knew that to be successful in this game, they had to stop Dooley County's big play ability.
And that just hasn't been the case so far.
They've really struggle on defense.
I think they've been on the field too long.
They put too much pressure on their defense coverages, had some misalignments, and the disguises have not been effective.
But, you know, they're in the second quarter, they started to put a little more pressure on Bryant.
They started to come off the corner.
I think found some things they could do with blitzes and now they can discuss their coverages a lot better.
How about the key element is to get Zach their quarterback back into the ballgame and keep the football on offense and keep it away from this Dooley County offense.
And what about Dooley County here?
What they need to do?
They need to maintain.
Of course, they don't have depth.
Yeah.
You know Moss.
You know Moss one more time they are a football team in the false sense of the word.
They play together as good as any group of players I've ever seen.
They believe in each other.
They believe in their coach they most important, they believe in themselves that they can make the play.
Every football player, all 26 of them know that when they go in there, they're quite capable of making the play they play well together.
Rely from the Georgia Dome.
John Wilkerson, Larry Prater, at least a week here enjoying this one as we hope you are at home.
Michael Hayes kicks off the second half and he takes it to the sidelines.
Trey, Rick feels this kind of falls out of bounds at the 18 yard line.
That's where matter the offense will take over.
A terrible field position perimeter to open up the second half.
Let's see what kind of adjustments that they have made offensively.
See if they get something going.
They've got to run the ball but they may pass it to establish the run, see which phase that they want to go to first.
Right off the bat.
A year ago, as a 14 year old freshman, Zach Stanford had a rough first half in the state semifinal against Baltimore last year.
You take a look at his numbers.
Only one completion per ten yards so far in the second half, he blossomed.
Will it happen again this year at the Georgia Dome in the semifinal, he give it the green screen.
That's the money went across the stage to a 35 from the field and forced out of bounds just short of the 45 yard line.
Lewis, Burton forced him out.
And that's exactly what Matt needed.
A big play to begin the second half.
Excellent blocking, excellent execution.
Here we go.
A tale, two cities, a tale of two football games.
Let's see.
So what do Lee Counties got defensively?
He's marked out at the 49 yard line of 61 yards so far for a pretty Ricky, no huddle.
And now meter is going to show their two minute offense in no huddle offense Stanford to throw.
Complete and to short the first down and.
Convert.
Sweetie sweetie Stanford stood back fired it out there let the receiver catch it lot more confidence as he came out from under the center.
Yeah.
He looks so much more poised now on that throw than he had in the first half.
And, you know.
15 years old.
This is a flat field.
They play on grass.
This is they got a cramp to it.
They go and it was on bird 11 touchdown.
Right.
Prevention second down and two and the energy is starting to happen.
For matter as green is knocked down short of the first down.
Philip Hunt on the tackle that run by Ricky Green that put him at midfield is really kind of energize that matter.
Team yeah just anything just anything will do it just get a little momentum 12 to nothing you know it's nothing for either one of these teams they know that's not going to be enough points to win the football game.
There's little more electricity in there, getting a little noisier over here on the metal side.
Only one third down conversion so far.
For now, green will have to push down to get.
To 35 and across to the 34 yard line and a first down.
And the Tigers are energized excellent.
BLOCK And Shannon Minor Travis Donaldson over on the right side, the Johnny Johnny Higher Center 6 to 20.
This offensive line averages around to 22.
Mascis has two offensive linemen.
Pretty Ricky they call him he's had a few free runs on this offensive possession for a matter as Stanford goes the throw and his pass is complete and a first down and Tom on the catch and a mid-air tigers all moving.
Mater has to wide receivers in October Hagan Henderson number eight and then Bachmann man number five And who are you going to try to double cover so they're trying to man up on bird and trying to double cover on Octavia.
And they're both lightning fast first and ten.
And then for the throw looks at bird now going back to the touchdown and Tom Bird.
And matter is back in the game.
He can go.
Flying He thought about the defensive back up and he ran right.
Behind him wide open save.
Is Lester there on the coverage but in time bird made an outstanding catch.
It was wide open and now Miller for the extra point Reed Brown the kick.
And no when the old game and four two Ricky Green tacked on two more and it's.
12 eight matter and the better side is erupting.
Momentum has taken a sudden shift toward matter.
They say it's better in matter.
I have to agree.
Well, that offensive possession was certainly better for matter as we take a look at the touchdown.
Yeah, hips, fake the hips and then the go great rail you know that's a hard fast catch when you know you're wide open for a touchdown.
And look at Stafford's reaction.
Oh, yes, we're back.
Hey, we've come to play Tiger Pride is in full force.
It's his 32nd touchdown pass on this season.
Now, if you're Bill Clark, that quick strike by minter, are you a little worried now?
Very well.
That's what he gets paid for.
He's got a head coach that he has.
You know, he's been in worse positions.
They've still got league.
There's no panic.
Brand Hendrix to kick off.
It's a ground ball field it by Gordon Johnson burning across the 40 to 40.
Five and good field position for duly carried to start off with Matt Lanier on the tackle for Dooley County we'll get a chance to see what they can do to counter as matter is seen, to have gotten all the momentum.
Yeah.
Then they turn around to kick in situation and give do the county too too good of a field position.
Give them a short field to play with.
Chad Bryant was outstanding in the first half.
We'll see what he does in the second half.
Start off in the shotgun.
Receivers to back.
Blank gives it to Deontay Fordham crossed the 50 and to the 45 When he's out of bounds.
It it could see the game plan for do LA County right off the bat more and more Scooby.
Doo it's lamb on the stop.
And he tackled him low I sure you.
Six play 72 yards in that 23 yard touchdown reception to Anthony Bird and the two point conversion is back in the game 12 8/2 down and two pick up.
By Turner on the counter and he's stopped cold.
Lee DICKERSON there on the stop Here it is again Lester Antonio Lester on the carry.
This wasn't just wasn't much of a clinch there to find third down short better defense picking it up it's gained a little bit of that momentum.
Third down and two Bryant.
Good protection throws complete first down well extra curriculars afterwards caught by number 28 citrus MATHIS.
It's just like a sweep.
Lay off, go down, pitch and boom right there.
Mathis was the school's first thousand yard receiver.
Have two receivers on your team go over a thousand yards is just an unbelievable statistic.
Excellent wide receiver skill players on both teams.
First down and ten for Dooley County home plate by play He just got the endzone incomplete Mathis the intended receiver.
Pitching go They saw matter score a touchdown So hey we'll pay you back with the same play Another hit you got He was wide open Just a little too low, a.
Little bit too much mustard.
Coach Brad Owens in the press box for matter.
His brother and he are both from Dooley County.
They both played their coach, own coach, their coach, his brother Brant and they now do the county very well.
Bryant thought he had it.
Oh, just a little too much.
Would have been his third touchdown pass of the game.
Would have been could have been.
Second down in ten.
Audible.
And the give is to Deontay for the third one go for one Mr. Tiger and picks up seven.
It's known his run in under shoulder pads BYOB be your own blocker.
Ricky Green took the punishment.
Block It was two run inside He took it outside He'll go to the replay.
John watched this, you know, a stiff arm in the shoulder.
Jamaal Anderson, he got stiff arm from Jamaal watching Jamaal TV.
Still wondering what truck hit him.
He just ran right over Ricky.
You know, this is part of their mind player.
They are physically better than you are and we're going to prove it to you.
We're going to punish you in every phase of the football game.
We're going to have you check.
And not to look like that touchdown by members unfazed.
But yeah they're knocking on the door right now.
It's 33 Bryant and that passes batted down.
An incomplete.
To help this line of scrimmage.
Tips by number 85 TV turner.
Big play crucial play They were you know 34 so if you think you know something short sweet get a first down on there going for the end zone.
Five TV's a big kid I mean I mean for a kid.
Great job defensively they're you know they get up in his face, you know, when he talks and starts to the ball down the field there, jump in the box his vision good coaching.
Really counting going for it on fourth down.
And on a keeper will get away and he'll.
Have the first down as he gets across the 25 yard line and out of bounds.
Is just thank is just too much speed on this Dooley in the backfield they just got too much speed for mater they're making the corner on everything off.
Derrick Smith forced them out of bounds but not after Chad Bryant who picked up a first down.
I hate to see someone be tackled.
They get their shoulder into the turf.
You come up with a lot of shoulder separations that way.
Chad Brown, 15 yards rushing.
But you got to remember now, a lot of his sacks count against his rushing total.
Out of the shotgun on first down, turn him on the carry big ball up the middle across the 20 to the 19 yard line.
Punishing punishing ball carrier.
Again physical CB turner on the on the tackle as Deonte Bryant delivers some more punishment this is a tough kid.
Larry.
He is he you know, he's emotional and spiritual.
He's a verbally like you hear about quiet leaders.
He's not quiet.
He tells the kids exactly what he's thinking.
He is the leader of this team.
Several SCC and SCC schools are recruiting him and he'd love to become.
A go to Google trying to sell coverage sacks.
Sacks by number 26.
Jeffrey Clifton number 78.
I'm sorry.
Here's another look you've seen.
Yeah, there's a cover sack is.
Yeah the offensive line could only box for so long.
Third and nine.
But what what's put matter defense in such duress is third, fourth down is two downs to get the yardage and dubious finding the way they're resilient resourceful in making these first downs unbelievable percentage today.
Third and nine and Bryant looking toward the end zone.
Joe Smith almost had a little contact there by Anton Bird, but no flag.
See that he has played basketball before.
He was timing it in getting in position with his body, get it back the defensive back.
He will go with it on replay.
John.
Well, they worked that corner of the end zone for their first touchdown to.
Fade that same up.
Is it getting in position?
Do a good defensive backfield here the the fans are seeing it also.
You know bird has every opportunity the.
Ball is exactly exactly he does a great job to get his body in position like a rebound in basketball almost straight the penalty fourth down the Cowboys.
Fourth and nine Bryant with the end zone and one touchdown Great kick that.
Chris Mathis.
22 yards Oh.
My And perhaps the momentum has gone back to Dooley County.
I think it's going to be this way the whole second half.
John.
They need this two point conversion.
Very gutsy call on fourth down.
Flat ground.
And Dooley County will go four, two up by ten.
Don't forget they were working with a short field ahead it at the 47 so they only had to go 53 yards, didn't have to work real hard.
Three receivers and playing well just toss it up there an incomplete and ten for Antonio Lester and so Dooley county's now oh for three on two point attempts but they lead by 1018 to 8 I'll tell you later that was a gutsy fourth down.
For yeah this year we talked about Moneyball but this is it at its best.
They've always got something in their back pocket.
Look, the concentration, you know, hands in his face and he still concentrate on.
Octavia and Henderson was there on the coverage.
But a great catch by centrist MATTHEWS The first thousand yard receiver in school history senior and he has a touchdown in the state semifinal.
Matt touchdown the season for him great job.
Well as we take one more look at this touchdown the pump fake just lays it out there Larry.
To the little short flag without going to the flag to the back corner under threw it just slightly 11 plays 53 yards.
And again for over 4 minutes of possession time Mathis with a 22 yard touchdown reception, Michael Haynes will kick off for Dooley County and Tom Bird is back deep to receive the kickoff.
And Bird hasn't hit the play, but 25 now reverses the field.
Got the ball having alley he's got good speed and he'll get back to the 25 yard line Pretty exciting.
Run by Antoine Bird Up to 27 yard line Then Janoris Sanders forced him out of bounds.
Now it's up to the Tigers to answer.
The bell rang.
The wind's upstairs and it Robinson, the offensive coordinator down on the field, got to come up with some beans of their own.

They give us the green cyst hits to the 30 Bring Up, Second Down and long.
J.A.
Burnham and Philip Hunt on the tackle got a first half total yards for Miller 32 in the first half in the third quarter 75.
So now the offense is starting to become untracked.
In this possession running game offensive line.
They're going to set the tempo here in the second half.
Established the way.
That's a quick throw and complete.
That is good I'm sorry Trey Hicks and he'll get to sort of the 40.
Quickness real quick this speed and quickness all over the football field today they you know they've got wide receivers and they emphasize getting the ball out in space to the mummy ball.
Take a good look at Trey Rex He made that catch Gives Miller a first down That's a.
Terrible little hard as they come up a little tender.
First down and ten one the 38 and it gives the green but the 40 to 45 he knows and Charlotte fumbles the football love it Julie says they have it.
Officials are giving it and they.
Do Deontay burn I'm on the recovery and a big mistake there.
By Matt Herschel is that going to be.
Boy the offense is rolling and you just stop cold by a fumble and a mistake as you take a look at GREENE lowers his shoulder was put on that caused the fumble and he comes in scraps and gets a recovery.
Had a kickoff return and got it back up to the 47 and now fumble and gives it to him on the matter 47 that his time.
James for you that actually caused the fumble.
Sort feel the work.
That both teams have one turnover and on first down they get this to number four yeah the Travis Taylor and he's close to another first down to the rookie mincey makes the tackle.
It is setting up a where on first down there they're constantly go to the sweeps and it's constantly working so you know stay with it they are bleeding this offense.
Let's go around the field to Lisa.
We met her defense has her back up against the wall again.
Head coach Robby Robinson told him, you've got to get him.
You've got to get to him.
You've got to shut him down.
And he's referring to the Bobcats quarterback Chad Bryant.
Bryant and Mr.
Excitement, they give is to Antonio Lester.
And Lester gets across the 40.
Not going to be a first down so I'll bring up a third and a couple maybe.
Back in the 1870s, John Railroad Executive was going east of Atlanta and he had the name a tail and he had met his fiancee, his future wife there.
So he named the town, met her.
So we got Mr. George out of there.
Very interesting.
But Ted Bryant right now is a friend of Mr. and he has done a great job leading this through County offense.
And Billy County will call timeout with a minute 48 to go in the third quarter didn't.
Get the right formation great time to call a timeout didn't want to waste a third down in Charlotte.
You take a look at Bill Clark there and I don't know if anybody has told Coach Clark that's December and it's like 20 degrees outside because he's wearing shorts on the sideline surrounded by his players.
You can't see it, but he does have shorts on.
Showing his toughness.
See Coach Kellogg right there.
Coach Kellogg, community late coach, great example of bring in coaches from the community.
And he's been a recreational leader, Rick Ball leader there.
It has really helped to be a leader among the coaches and leader of these players.
Well, this is.
Just the first of many games that we played here at the Georgia Dome today, Class eight, GHC, I guess Early County GHC led by and 3:00 at Screven County and Gainesville and the triple-A state semifinal.
And they played a shortened Thompson Thompson undefeated number one.
And in the quad on the Quint day, the Brooklyn Broncos and the Camden County Wildcat Burnham on the carry.
I don't know if he got it, Larry.
It's going to be close.
But fourth down, they will go for it again.
Ricky Mincey and lead DICKERSON on the stop.
I do not see them giving up the football any time any way they go for points it is fourth down night close.
Well they've been successful going at it and fourth down in fact they scored in the last fourth down.
For your prize fieldhouse that we cannot name the Roger Kingdom Fieldhouse two time Olympic gold medalist from the county by into.
On fourth down for I was shotgun first he'll get the first down boy give it to the big back and he'll make a big play for you.
Ricky Mincey on the start of the first down.
Game playing his tackle that got low.
He gets under his shoulder pads and he is real low to the ground and that's all you can do.
Compared him to Jamal Anderson.
That reminds me a lot of runs.
I used to see Jamal when he's wearing the red and black of the Falcons.
Stretch extra effort.
Get that down.
Mitzi has school record for most tackles and career and a single says another first.
Down for Dooley County.
Bryant gets the rush now throws ten sweep of Jay Smith.
At the 25 And Smith will get to show the 20 on a bounce and a first down.
Great play Kyle rim three wide receivers deep Got it The defensive backs deep And then the fourth receiver just out into the flats behind the linebackers wide open You got to love this offense.
They are exciting.
J Smith six £370 tight end.
As we come to the end of the third quarter.
Both teams scored, but Dooley County still playing physical and still in the lead by 1018 to 8.
The fourth quarter is next.
We'll be right back.
Welcome back to the Georgia Dome.
Dooley County leads 18 to 8 in the fourth quarter.
Happy fans from Dooley County and they're enjoying their trip to Atlanta so far and duly knocking at the door again at 20 yard line, first down ten.
Chad.
Brian, who has been this show for the Bobcats looking to tack on.
Six more audibles and pump fake to the end zone.
Touchdown, Dennis.
Mathis, 20 yards.
Wow.
Do it into double coverage.
Hit it right down the seam What a catch fingertip catch.
One handed even and there love it.
In bobcat land.
They came up from south Georgia and they're enjoying their first time experience.
What a catch.
By the interest now the second touchdown pass of the second half is the go to guy.
I tell you what, that doesn't go with that.
First thousand yard receiver in school history for the first time today.
They don't try the technique at the point.
Yancy brought them.
What else can this kid do?
Well, it's blocked.
Well, it never got off the ground.
He kicked it right into center.
Let's see why they go for two.
Philip LAMB was there to knock it down.
And Dooley County now leads 24 to 8 coaches.
Keep a chart on the sideline a win to go for to their chart tells win to go for one here's the pass replay.
Look at Trish and look at Mathis.
It was at the point of the ball and brings it in what hands.
Neglect NFL guys see some of this.
Oh yeah Oh that's pretty good.
Great job by our crew.
Great camera work right there.
Yeah.
Mathis loves it.
That smile you see his mouthpiece.
What a game he has had the.
Day he said Ted Bryant loves playing the bright lights of the big city and dangerous.
Mathis I think he does, too.
The primetime players, prime time here this morning.
Prime time players, prime time in the morning.
Their smile, six plays, 47 yards and 20 yard touchdown pass the dangerous Mathis so only took up 316 is Dooley County kicks off Michael Hayes back deep and time Oracle Hayes to kick off and time Byrd back deep and shielded by Ricky Green Green gets across the 30 to about the 32 yard line.
I thought he had stepped out of bounds on the kid and he just tiptoed.
He got it back up.
He tiptoed.
Now, if you're matter, what does Zach Sanford that offense need to do because they need to get positive yards back.
They've got plenty of time to win the football game.
But the problem is they don't have enough time to get their tempo down.
They've got to come out here, get the tempo and get the execution down.
Now let's regain some momentum, feel good about ourselves.
And somebody someway, somehow has got to step up, make a play.
Both teams, both are offenses that are on the field, can rack up points in a hurry.
Stanford A throw and a pass is complete.
The Henderson I'm sorry, that's Anton Byrd did a little dancing a first down across the 45 to the 46.
King this year he would go to the replay set up good quick set up good release high release zipped it in there almost intercepted.
Yeah but that's an accuracy and velocity there that Stanford.
Byrd was £185.
Is 15 though well needed 1/1 down and we had a personal foul.
All right.
On Julie Carey Tack on another 15.
I've got a feeling this is going to be showtime here.
The fourth quarter, John, these both offenses looked like they were geared and primed to go.
I'm ready for a show.
The man weighs £185 for 40.
Tremendous leg strength.
From the 40.
I'm sorry, from the 39.
First down, Zach Stafford.
In the shotgun and I'll throw intended for Randy Hendricks.
A little bit behind him you know it just their tempo just the execution a little bit off today and not yet consistency.
But you know, when you're passing the ball and you've got big play capability, there's always one more down maker for that.
Boy, Zach Sanford.
School records in single season yards passing and in touchdown passes, trying to lead this team to the state championship game three.
And he stopped called by the defense and he felt the football away from him.
I don't think Bolivar hit the ground.
I think Lee County recovers can Dario Ingram boy that play happened so fast.
Wow he would go we got a replay on it I think they take it.
Oh he took it right away.
And now they had a miscue on the handoff I can't get it in his stomach.
Never hit the.
Ground.
Another critical turnover by Mr. Luke.
Where do the count, I guess.
Football midfield.
Another short field work with.
Chad Bryant by licking his chops.
Now you can put the dagger in the heart of the matter, Tiger.
This can be the knockout blow here.
If they get any kind of points.
But matter needs a big defensive stop and a flag down.
Come from area of delay a game.
There no delay a game on offense we play first down yeah Williams agrees.
Yeah second time this game that has happened.
Look at Chad Bryant's numbers, 12 to 24, 182 yards and four touchdowns caught.
That's a career.
When I was a player.
First and 15.
From the 37 Bryant go running.
And he cut from behind by Philip LAMB.
Got a tendency to run that sweep on first down matter matter met the challenge that time check out.
The replay of Bryant running that sweet.
Early count is the home of Roger Kingdom Olympic gold medal medalist also Governor George Best because at home, Jody Powell, press secretary is from there.
Quietly limping off.
The field may have got a little shaken up on that play.
And he's not you don't see their arrest.
Deontay Burnham hit six field goals Mike linebacker and running back We're going to try him at quarterback and he's played that position a few times this year and play him instead of key and get to the 40 and that's about it.
Phillip LAMB Again, on the tackle, what else can Deontay Burnham do?
Yeah, he is.
You know, he's a triple threat in all senses of the word.
He sweep.
Here we go, shotgun.
Just take it and run left and he almost breaks comes out this Paula.
Phillip LAMB makes the tackle and is also down on the field.
Slow again I think just got winded.
Deontay Burnham he has four six speed he's being recruited by virtually every SCC and team.
Although his coach told me that LSU might be the frontrunner.
Character, leadership, good grades.
He's a leader on and off the field.
He takes one snap as Chad Bryant comes back in, shaking off the injury.
He inherits a third 11 situation.
For receivers.
That is Sean Blitz.
Here they come Bryant just gets away.
Completes the pass to Lewis Burton football mad scramble for.
And they got it.
Matter football the break they need it on the recovery Jesse Hayden.
Do the county's offense you think you know pass offense he doesn't use much of the clock but they're just eating up the clock.
He got to have possession in here.
This maybe this is the play that can turn it around, please.
DICKERSON forces the fumble.
First decent field position bettors had in the whole game.
And you give Zach Stanford a chance to perhaps a quick strike to the end zone here.
Let's take a look.
The mad scramble the fumble now on first down Stafford.
On play action five four play to its receiver then down the tackle that.
Was Eric Williams.
What an effort his.
Uncle Greg starred at the University of Georgia's as a running back and then a defensive back.
He's learned some playing just a junior.
He'll be major college prospect next year himself good has that six three.
Hits Look at that catch.
His mom and dad both were college basketball players that catch up three four after the.
Run as Ricky Green gets the handoff and Burnham brings him down.
I'm sorry, Lewis Burton.
Brings him down yards after the catch, yards after contact.
He got all of them need to score and score in a hurry.
Yeah, because we're down to just over or just under 9 minutes.
John, what the coaches upstairs are talking about is we got to get the testing.
We've also will will have to go for two to get eight points, score again, going to get a success.
For the first time around.
Second and goal here's green a sweet.
Looking to cut He finds no place to go James Collier in on the tackle for Matt for Julie County if you take a look at that replay watch Stanford trying to look for a place to cut but again that speed and power of that defense.
Dooley County Ricky weighs 190, but they've just ganged up on him just not enough.
Seems in there to get him get him in the end zone third and goal.
You've won two run plays unsuccessfully try to pass.
Two downs to get in they will have to go for the fourth down three did he get in it is may go down the official on the other side has seen his knee went down knee when he stretched.
Tantalizingly close to the end zone.
Let's see.
Replay, John.
You see his balance.
Excellent balance.
Put his hands down the knee.
Never touched the knee near.
Of the the hand can go down anyway it's fourth and.
Goal play of the.
Game right at the doorstep this could be the play of the game.
Stafford on speed.
Okay, he got it.
He's in there.
Touchdown!
Zach Stafford sneaks in from a yard 24 to 14 Dooley County.
And they've got a going to go for two Larry got.
To go for two than a two touchdowns and 22. conversions to task this does not have enough time to play it safe.
They were successful on their first two point attempt in the third quarter you to go to four to Stafford on the keeper knocked down tried to throw it he's down by Chris Caldwell what a play by Caldwell Bust in there and knocked down Stanford.
Right effort on all these kids part.
They're selling out because this means a trip to the finals.
They barely touch There's a quarterback running quarterback sneak quarterback Touchdown Haiti couple Oh speak it to the right Here's go the two point conversion penetration.
We had Caldwell and then he was down he tried to shovel pass.
Barely to let's go to watch on that was close.
Let's go down the field at least a week coach Robinson has told me that his tigers have been a second half team all year.
They have five come from behind victory including last week's win over two weeks counting it.
With a little over 7 minutes left on the clock.
They could do it again today.
Gentlemen.
Kid game is big here.
Chomp.
They have got to get football deep and pin them up and not give the Bobcats a short field again.
There's a. Touchdown.
Five plays, 29 yards, little over 2 minutes, and Stanford snuck in from a yard to fall through early in the game, the try and onside kick.
But you got to let your defense perhaps get a turnover.
Brad Hendrix kicks off.
And number 25 Jarvis Lester fields it in midfield that was very bizarre there, Larry.
I have seen it done before that you try to bounce the football off of one of the linemen that don't have good hands.
But that was not a lament as a running back and it did not bounce off.
So men are going to all the bag of tricks right now.
Form of an outside kick.
But look where Dooley gets football again.
Great field position.
First down and ten from the 48 of Dooley County.
Take a look check right at a cool customer there at quarterback little action he'll keep it.
He'll be cut from behind and brought down for a loss.
Justin Beggs On that tackle was good again.
Watch Beggs flag down Brian.
Simpson An option.
What a pitch man just not enough rain.
We had a flag on the play.
Brian runs a four for 40 flag.
He is tough.
This bobcats are just turf across the board.
Tough and physical and.
Just trying to overpower you on second down.
By the throw and he's brought down by Philip LAMB coming on a weak side with.
Somewhere in here better may have use a timeout to stop this clock to get the two scores they're ten points down they're going to have have at least two scores to tie.
Well their defense is making an effort right here to get that ball back in the offense.
Defense has played fairly well since the second quarter started, but they've just been under so much pressure in a short field to deal with.
And Mr. Bryant, too, as he bought this game.
He is he is quite a player.
He's the feature player of the game.
But major league game and.
He is a feature player.
Third and an acre and the goodness of Burnham and firm will gain a couple and that's it yeah.
Lee DICKERSON on the tackle he'll bring up fourth down yeah.
Running the clock and there's the matter of time out right there Excellent coaching £240 this all muscle and he is solid he's been playing in the program since grade John.
He missed half of a practice to get a knee stitched in.
He had watched practice for a couple of weeks while he had stitches in a knee was just awful injury.
And since then, he's never missed a practice.
That's Robbie Robertson, head football coach, defensive coordinator, rallying the troops.
And he's going to be proud of his defense right now.
I mean, when they near the big stop, they got it.
And let's see what Dooley will do on fourth down, because there are no there are three for four and fourth down conversions.
Now it's fourth and very long, but yeah.
Yeah, fourth and 20.
I just don't see them trying to get a first in that situation.
Go ahead and put it in, put the pressure on the matter.
Offense.
Both teams have two timeouts left.
But a ten man, I think.
Here we go.
There they are not don't go with a ten man rush.
They're going to set it in, do a return.
They've scored on three punt returns this season so it's a pretty good gamble that we can return it for a touchdown.
So a little bit of pressure, make the punter kick it quick, but they're setting up the return.
Michael Hayes back the punt for Dooley County Rich and Byrd.
A couple burners now and Angola toward the side.
They're going to the field.
That's Rick at third with a carry and take the hit and goes down to the 32 yard line.
They were setting up a return lay and he could get to the corner to get into the wall.
Great coverage from the basket.
Just too much team speed.
We've seen that for the last two days, John, that the teams with the best speed seem to be the teams that went out.
Take a look at the replay of Byrd's dancing.
They try to get a scene there.
But to me, Dooley County Bobcats in the way.
He should get back on the all star all state list his whole state wide receiver last year first team and he'll be back there again this year 585.
So matter has a chance to cut the lead.
Zach Stafford He did it last year in the second half.
On the pressure, the reverse and front runner wide open Arcadia touchdown Octavius Henderson What a call, Larry.
Man but they got a bag of magic.
Things to watch.
Damien Henderson You saw his four three speed in the 40 wide open and that time third was on target.
Six £380 a junior, but was 340 last year.
Call him drop yet he kept dropping passes he worked all offseason following the ball up in the dark laying in bed turned out the lights throwing, the ball catching and they going for two.
And that work paid off in the state semifinal.
Now men are going for two to try to cut the lead to.
Try to win it with.
Field goal one up to two point conversion Stanford looking to throw.
First in zone incomplete.
Oh what a12 effort great pass great play Karl just just a little bit better defensive effort.
And fur and tone for the intended receiver.
Let's take a look at this touchdown, the reverse and the pass.
Larry great play call he wide open right arm.
And Octavian Henderson has for 340 speed He saw it right there wide open and we're seeing the big play ability of matter.
The skill athletes on both sides of the ball.
And Anton Byrd fired a strike and he threw that a good 50 yards and.
Keep the offensive line Donaldson hired Dunlap Youngblood so good protection there Shannon Maynor right tackle had plenty of time to throw the pass.
He will be a high up on recruiting list next year for Division.
One schools and the two pointer right.
At last second they can spark reaches the end.
Bird can hold it in nil don't kick it off for Oh what a game Larry.
4 minutes 50 seconds to go how important that matter still has two timeouts to play with.
Now the pressure's just back over to do the counter.
You got the lead.
It's another tight kick.
No, he can kick and deep interest.
Mathis will.
Feel that the five three 4325.
Basket coverage.
It matters hard today and here comes the flags flying in so late.
I think this may be a personal foul facemask could be a big one against better late late flags.
And they do not need that kind of mistake.
As we hear from Art Williams, personal foul against splatter that's going to drive Robbie Robertson crazy.
Play Robbie and Ray it is brother they're protesting the call.
Dead ball personal foul all the way to 15 Your first down instead of having the ball at the 25 Dooley Kelly you have it at the 40 and again they're in that short field.
One play 66 yards 60 yards six six yard touchdown pass but Matt thing seconds they are what I would call a quick strike offense.
On first down hurdle hit.
In the backfield struggles to get back to the line scrimmage and that's it the.
Tiger defense is hunkering down They've been real effective on first downs.
It's been this is the third and fourth that they've really had their troubles.
So here we go second long.
Let's see what they come up with on offense this year.
Do their best to run it and run the clock.
They've been most effective on sweeps.
Look for them to come back with some kind of play action fakes, try to hold the linebackers in and then get outside with a running back of a quarterback and a sweet.
Second down and ten I was shotgun Chad Brian.
Good protection throws.
Incomplete in for a tight end Jay Smith third down and ten Jesse Haden on the.
Coverage big big big big play there Help matter to save a time out Stop the clock 3 minutes and 50 seconds to give that matter too much time to play with They're just too good on offense to get timeouts.
We haven't seen Mr. Bryant run the ball much in the second half.
Is it time for him to now use the clock but try to run as we take a look at his past 19 yard touchdown?
Yeah, look for that sweep again.
High snap Burnham him on the carry That's the 40 short of the 45 Philip LAMB and Ricky Mincey on the stop for mid-air another fourth down Check out the athletic ability of Chad Brian here one hands a step almost like a basketball rebound and Deonte Burnham gains a couple.
The community coach late coach matter is their team chaplain as well Ray Woodcock.
Their motto this season has been we are not of those who draw back, but of those who believe Hebrews 1039 and I think this showing up in the spirituality of this team, they will not give up two teams with tremendous willpower on the field right now.
Well met or Julie County will take a delay of game penalty and move back five yards.
Now I think they're going to call a timeout as well to see who the timeout.
Timeout on offense.
Well, they got the time out.
Great timeout.
Great time.
Let your kids rest.
They've been on the field going both ways most of the game.
And run the clock.
That.
Four to go Larry this has been a fun one to.
Watch so much, you know, hard hitting offense just enough offense to, you know, make but I'm a defensive and I like seeing great defenses and that's where championships are won.
And I think both defenses have shown well here today, even though it's been a 2024 ball game, lot of points are scored.
It's still been hard hitting and a lot of strategy, a lot of things going on in these last few minutes.
Both these teams have left a lot on this Georgia Dome.
Floor that they came to play.
It's just, you know, so unfortunate that the better offense just could not get into sync and get it clicking today.
I don't know, just a little, but make them kick it in here with the last 3 minutes to go.
On third and three.
Rick So back.
The time they have scored so many times has pulled them out of so many games this year.
Crucial for Michael Hayes goal line drive that ritual for terrible.
They waited too long for.
That defense for the coverage to come and get actually has ran Hendrick's had fielded the kick or the punt and gained five yards and 25 that's where Miller will start with 253 to go lot of pressure for a 15 year old kid to handle the Georgia Dome.
Your team down by.
Four and they've got to get a touchdown field goal will not do it they've got to get six.
73 yards passing for Zach Stafford the one touchdown decent numbers.
This is where quarterback son the two minute situation three receivers stacked to the new side of the field I was stuck on Stafford well complete plate protection Grant.
On the catch and it's a first down now do we see no huddle.
Say bold young led left tackle he had a blitz out of an outside linebacker he got back player got a torn ACL in his knee and he was still scooting back there, made a tremendous block.
Pick the backside.
He's 15 year old Zach Stafford, poised and fires a strike and Hendrix is tied in.
To receiver split and with the throw and it's.
Incomplete.
His turf I think his turf is messing up his stride as he strides into the ball, is causing him to maybe alter stride in the ball, skipping on.
He's not getting not getting his legs and he pops into his pass.
Zach Stanford, a very mature and special kid, according to his coach, Robbie Robertson.
Excuse the pressure so this is nothing new for Zach Stafford keep in mind is 15 years old and how many 15 year olds could stand under this pressure that Stafford.
So far is trying to lead his mental team to the state finals?
Second and ten dancer alludes to loss Find some time in there Burnham.
Oh great play.
Gets out of bounds to the 40.
Five Great job Smart patty couldn't find a receiver just these defensive backs from do they're just too quick too fast they're disguising their coverages Well here we go get it.
You see the replay and he's got his eyes downfield.
He's looking and he's really heady.
Get out of bounds to say the clock to old man on the clock John.
Coach blocked and almost made the tackle He got involved.
Okay remember coach Barber from last year thanks can it got rolled up over there broke his leg severely what's up?
He's got third and four.
I shotgun.
John Valdosta stat three in a row.
Stanford.
And complete little.
Bit by his hands for Eric Williams little.
Bit behind got a big catches Eric sorry eight one really great today I need one more fourth down they got to go for it.
Right in his hands he had to dove for it but incomplete brings up fourth down a huge decision for Robbie Robertson.
Eric here six three he will be a major college prospect next year because of his 1200 on this 94th down.
And four, this might be your ballgame right here.
That's Stafford Al the shotgun.
15 year old sophomore.
Steps back throws incomplete.
Tried to hit Antoine Bird Seamus Lester there to knock it away and Dooley County will take over on down.
Fourth down you coach defensive backs to not intercept the pass.
Hetty Hetty smart kids on those deep pass the ball was there he might have intercepted it, but he might have tipped it up and receiver had gotten in.
What's what's in?
Knock it down here.
Great defensive smart play.
Slapped it down smart defensive doing the counting.
The only play Stanford had as Deonte Bernard was breathing down on Coach.
Henry Lester, defensive coordinator for, the Bobcats.
Great job, Coach Lester.
To give it to Antonio Lester 40 yard line.
Got to stop him call timeouts.
And no timeout called clock running in a minute 36 to go Robbie Robertson.
To sideline over their share of Homer bail Got a great story about deer hunting deer he thought he shot got it and attacked it.
Were Matt deer second.
And six before you pick up by Lester quiet just let loose second pick.
Up a fumble on the field.
And this.
Stays Dooley County Scooby.
Win in the pile and took it away trying to hand it off.
Somebody from men are fired in there and disrupted that play Jason Jay Smith on the recovery.
Ricky Nixon, Ricky Mercy fired in there.
Oh, well, men are needed something like that to happen.
They got it unfortunately.
Duly coming.
Recovered on 20 seconds time better calls their second time out.
One layoff with a minute 12 to go big big big play here field position way it is Dooley can run it twice Got two plays to try to get the first down if they even had don't get the first down is going to run a lot of time clock that matter shown that they are a quick strike team they've got someone they've got some magic.
Third down and four for Georgetown.
Another showing with.
The on paper only carry stops in the backfield.
The matter will use their last time out.
Peavy Turner, a freshman on the stop and Merrill uses their last time out.
Deonte Burton He's been a workhorse for Dooley County running back.
He took a snap at quarterback.
He's done it all season.
Wow red team.
Third and final timeout.
Well matter has done a great job to contain him has been the other guys that have stepped up their game, made the plays.
Well.
Bill Clark is in his fourth year at Duley County High School and he just loves coaching.
Let's hear from him.
All right.
Coaching is about helping the kid get beyond.
High school as far as trying to help them see that there's more inside themselves, too, besides football, that they can someday maybe help somebody else down the road from what they did and what they got out of football.
Spoken like a true coach.
Go out there to help kids.
And give credit to Mr.
Forward Randolph Ford, principal for bringing in these coaches and support them.
He's their number one booster for them for going to a victory formation.
Oh, excuse me.
Shotgun and Burnham at quarterback.
He's going to kick it and I kind of said something like this might happen.
Very short kick, though.
They play great play call it quiet yet they.
Sound like 181 yard line likes to get that inside the ten.
Yes you know a very offensive play try to get inside the ten or the five just barely missed it so matter just about decent position.
But most important, they did it with 51 seconds to play with no timeouts.
And Zach Stanford will run the show as well under a minute, 51 seconds, pull.
Up three receivers on the other side of the field, Stanford out.
Of shotgun.
This is to a terrible rush for Stanford carry it out Georgia Henderson.
And complete he had a hand on it on the coverage was the Travis Taylor.
Right great pass he can throw the fade about as good as any quarterback in high school I've ever seen Charles Doody shot I have a deal started as ninth grader and Ballou from Valdosta started this ninth graders here.
Here we go.
We got another one.
Better Georgia.
Second and 1040.
4 seconds to go.
And across the line.
Finally third and it's knocked.
Down almost intercepted by Ventress Mathis.
Looks like he slapped it instead of going for the interception in this situation on second, third, down first, second, third, go for the interception.
Get the ball back.
38 seconds to go and gives matter another opportunity.
Yeah, fourth down.
Slap it down but not on first, second, third.
See the tension in Robbie Robertson space.
Got to have touchdown 24 to 20 Got to have 638 seconds left on.
Georgia, 41/3 down and ten.
Four receiver split.
Stanford looking Oh wait when Hendrick cross the 5235 All.
Right quickly men are trying to get down but the clock will start on the first down.
Got to move the chains, get it set.
He wants to get up there and spike the ball so it will not start after the chains are set.
Quick look at the replay.
Watch Kendricks here.
Make an outstanding catch.
Bullet pass.
Great catch right here on the coverage.
And Sexton just spiked it.
Got to stop the clock.
Okay.
At 25 seconds to.
Go, they practice this every day.
Second nature, you look credit to Michelle Tyler, the principal at her high school.
She's an outstanding basketball player at the University of Georgia, provides a lot of leadership.
And number one, playing for these better tigers Dooley County calls.
Timeout with 25 seconds to go at right third and final timeout.
As fans there is our featured player Zach.
Very mature kid and you know he's 15 years old you're greatest maturity comes from ages from 15 to 16.
He's as good at this age right now.
It's scary to think we shouldn't be like when he's 16, 17 years old, 18.
And to 15 years old.
He's won 18 football games only the last two as the starting quarterback.
That matter still got two more years to go.
He's probably on already some radar screen out of high school, big time.
Great work.
Hey, hey, hey, hey.
By leading his team back on the field, boy poised and confident.
He's 15 years old.
It's amazing.
Here we go.
25 seconds.
Half, three, three, three, four plays possibility.
But they walk this day.
The two minute offense.
Dances lose the.
Worst, tries to complete a pass to Anton Byrd, but incomplete.
Had to get rid of football.
The second sack.
Cannot take sack in this situation.
Third down and ten, 18 seconds to go, Larry.
When you take a shot, the end zone, when do you go for the first down?
Yeah, yeah.
Excellent point, John.
18 seconds to go.
So one, they need to come back on fourth and ten and then the pressure there is to get the first down.
Got up throws what the sideline matter has no timeouts.
Third down and ten.
You're trying so quick jump back passes and Henderson gets out of bounds and gets the first down with 9 seconds to go.
Time for two shots.
Both of them are going to have to be in the end zone.
Now, John.
Here we go.
Here's your replay.
Look, this capability, excellent vision.
Find that receiver, then.
Here we go.
Smart.
Get out of.
Bounds.
He has not dropped Fabian any more.
No, he's come up big.
A huge touchdown catch.
And now this first down reception with 9 seconds.
To go he was just he's just up.
Here.
How many sophomores and juniors have we seen in the last two days?
A lot of talent for next year.
Stanford down six.
Second to the.
End zone.
Wait 2 seconds, 1/2 left and convert.
Could not come up with it.
And we got down to one last play.
Had to take the shot.
Octavia and Henderson over on the other side, the field ran an outright shot and broke wide open.
Bird looked like he got tripped by James Collier, but it might have been the turf.
Yeah, I think it was a no call.
Great.
No call from the officials.
Close.
Last play of the game, John.
Last chance.
Great time to run the delay.
Time out foul.
We're doing the counting formation now.
Call a timeout.
Well They're out of time.
Out today.
Yes, you're right.
So if we use the ball here, here's.
Your ball game.
Stanford City is going to play to Denver air time, first to Lee County advanced as Chris Caldwell.
Knocks it away.
What a game 20.
4 to 20 Dooley County defeats matter We'll.
See coach Park and the Bobcats coming over to congratulate great sportsmanship.
Two central Georgia teams, great athletes, great programs, excellent sports facilities.
Talking to Dr. Swainson and Gary Phillips yesterday, Georgia Huskies Association point of emphasis they want to make in these games as a sportsmanship.
Dooley County will advance to take on College County in the Class single AA state championship.
If you take a look at Chad Bryant, he was the man for the Dooley County Bobcats.
What a football team in the true sense of the word of team together.
Everybody achieves more.
They're living example of it.
I want to congratulate this better team coach Robinson for the great season.
The principal was certainly their boosters club president.
They offered them major boosters in their billy trap mail and Larry Baldwin and all the work they've done for this better team and the hospitality they have given us.
We visited down there.
Quite well.
Quite a show here.
We're just the kickoff game for a whole night.
Well, there it's been a lot of fun and.
We had an outstanding volley in a rip to wrap it up.
And Phil Clark is happy as his duly County Bobcats advance.
Thank you, Larry.
Thank you, Lisa.
