Live from the Macon Cineplex and the Macon Coliseum, it is the boys championship game, the Manchester Blue Devils coming in at 28 and three against the Dodge County Indians coming in at a practically identical 28 and four.
Good afternoon and welcome.
I am John Nelson.
You are going to see some quality basketball for your championship game coming up in just a second.
The girls championship, the eighth state title for the GHC Ladies Spartans as they take out region rival the Lady Wolves of Wesleyan this afternoon.
Big ball game Manchester denying Randolph play their 10th state championship game.
Let's go to our front court Stu Clyde Sinek and the elevator from the Carter Herb White.
Guys, thank you very much.
John.
I am to connect with my partner as always.
Herb White.
It is always unseasonably warm, it seems here in making this time of year, but always warm and hot with some terrific basketball here inside the coliseum.
The double AA boys no different herb, two different styles.
Dodge Cam County going against Manchester.
One loves to run, the other says, Whoa, let's put on the brakes.
Yeah, Dodge County is going to try to control the tempo and they've got a good guy to do that.
They've got a slashing player.
His name is Garland McArthur.
He's a64 forward and he does a great job for those guys, man.
He can score and he can control the boards a little bit.
He's actually their tallest player that plays and it's not going to be a game of tremendously big guys underneath, but guys that can play the perimeter.
Take a look at the starting lineup here because you're going to see it and then you're going to see five guys sometimes come off the bench, Manchester subs and they sub often because they love the press and run.
Yeah, Manchester is a team that likes to get up and down the floor.
They average about 71 points a game and the guy that makes that fast break go for them is Jamarcus Stephenson and Jamarcus is the point guard.
He's their lead steals guy.
He's their leading assist guy has 126 assists nobody else on the team has 50 so he is the decider.
To borrow a political phrase about where the ball goes, well, we try not to get too political, but we'll look at the candidates for a state title here.
And as you can see, not great, sighs Shaw McArthur 605 17 points a game.
He is the guy that keeps it going.
This is a squad that that really doesn't show up as much.
So what Manchester will try to do to Dodge County is just press them in wearing down.
What Dodge County will try to do is be very deliberate, slow things down, get inside, of course, take transition baskets when they can, because they'll run when they can.
But it's going to be a ten against maybe seven or eight.
What do we look for early perhaps in this game?
Well, who's going to establish their will in a game like this?
Where's contrasting styles is who can dominate with their will to play the pace they want to play at?
But we're ready to get underway.
Let's introduce the starting lineup for tonight's Double-A championship game.
The six foot one senior GM Marquis Stevenson, had gone 12 six foot one senior JJ Burger.
That's 435 and six foot senior Tobias Jackson.
that's bone number three, a six foot senior done previous pardon down at center number 44, six foot three senior, terribly bone and Manchester's head coach Curtis Noble, was on the mound for your Dodge County, Indiana Guard number three and six foot one Junior Charles Gordon at guard number 24, five foot ten junior.
Cameo Holloway at center number 52, a six foot five senior, Travis Duke, three had fallen over 2106 foot five.
Senior Garland McArthur You guys the ball at four over 23, a six foot three senior David Scott and Dodge County's head coach.
He will pull to sit back, relax and get ready.
Double play championship basketball is coming up and it's coming up next.
Get to a stop sign.

Welcome back to the Boys State championship game, Manchester against Dodge County.
Usually a team has a mantra, has a saying they go by this season and this year no different.
Gerald Olive, very courtside.
Years ago Dodge Town.
He only had one win in a season.
Now they're one win away from a state title.
And the big turnaround came two years ago when Danny McCoy became the head coach.
He knew if he wanted to change his direction of the program, he'd have to implement a new philosophy.
And for him that slogan was Weave, not me.
He says that that slogan helped to bring your team together.
And, you know, it seemed like it works, too.
I wonder if that philosophy at work, if I go home and tell my wife next time I'm making wake up awake, you know, make a mess in the kitchen, that really not me.
Well, don't bet on the job, but let's get a good one here.
We go.
Back up there in the black and blue to black uniforms.
And you got Dodge County looking a little like home.
Indiana, her zone defense for Dodge County as Manchester, as we know, way outside with the female good will substitute quickly and try to set the pace of this game.
So I talked to coach said Coach Noble.
The match which he said he'll go man to man sometimes they'll mix it up his own.
But he said We come off the bus pressing so, so far we'll see what happens.
The pace of the game, you're right.
Early going.
We'll see how it goes.
That's that's true.
Off to a good start.
That was Jackson with the jumper in there.
You see the pressure back court and all over the court trying to wear this Dodge County team down there, although so far so good.
But it is a scrambling defense all over the court.
Watch can't pulls it out here side to look inside settling down.
Well you know the best way to keep the team from running on is to score on to make them take it out of the net.
So that's county wants to shoot a good percentage, keep the three pointer off the ball.
Here comes Manchester there.
They're one speed fast, doubles three get back ups all the things up going against now man to man.
Dallas County Defense off ball state is up and no good Dodge County controls the big Garland McArthur under his control just in a warm welcome for his double state championship game here in it as the person continues to make it and if you do that, sometimes you get easy shots and that's going to fall through Dallas.
Guys, ladies, go in for the lay up.
They got lucky.
You don't want to pick the ball up at half court and get the double team.
You're going to get the ball out of there before the double teams comes.
But they score it off of at that time and trust you.
Setting out to look at number eight, slowing it down that he's got the pace they like, but they will do it out there no good.
And the big man McArthur claims that shots the guards carried looks to the break, kept it going.
So setting up one of these.
Yes, looking to blow all perimeter and the thought concern that he has got some tricks for big man at the plate on the floor as a slasher.
He can put it on the floor and take it all the way.
And there's nobody big enough to intimidate his shot in there for Dodge County, Part of the great crowd here on holiday making for this double championship game.
And so far, so good for Dodge County as backstops.
Alexis, not to go looking around the perimeter, center for the outside.
Try to find out when he can pull up like Johnson and a quick referral is the person with the back fort Dodge County.
So far, no turnovers and not having any problems.
But to keep the pace of this game, of course, there you go.
After it.
Does he have a game today like we've had in the three boys games?
We're in for a treat.
It's going to be tough to stay in that class.
I mean, you saw the earlier game today.
Unbelievable overtime game.
Of course, the five and four, eight boys last night, just unbelievably close and really good basketball, not just close games, but a snowball effect, which would have been Chester, looking good to bounce in the blue jacket Manchester's close it's going to be one happy camper stepping up to the plate a state title.
He's going to give James Hart to a run for his money.
And Tucker, as far as the sun goes, thunder something like something good and somebody is hot.
That's another three by Jackson, Fabius, Jackson.
Deep in the halfcourt.
And we can see his pace picking up just a tad.
Josh Kelly, Not the something you want to do and you see that Prince working it is working early.
You got to take that quick shot.
You got to make it because that's what Manchester wants.
Come down and shoot within four or 5 seconds after you cross the timeline.
I've worked with him for five or six years, years that I've never heard you.
So so-called splendors happen at once.
Not bad up.
Amazing working with you that I haven't used that term to got Johnny controlling on the boards early going boy it's that's the devils going back and now he's zone defense a long shot no good enough for South Dakota he wants to take this ball game Manchester wants to run with the ball Good ready because a new five is getting ready to come in for Manchester and good Nicely done for the easy hook.
Danny McCoy can't be happy the coach in Dodge County, but the press does.
It'll give you some open three, some open looks and they want you to take that shot.
And there is the out and part of the tough offensive board.
Sometimes the worst thing that can happen to you if you're the opposing team is if you hit an open shot.
So there we have a ten four over now, Manchester up so far early.
We're just getting underway here and make it with double eight points championship basketball funding for this program is provided by the Georgia High School Association.
The NCAA would like to thank Dodge for their outstanding support of high school sports programing on GPB.
Dodge dealerships across Georgia are proud to bring you the exciting action of USA Championship basketball as the official vehicle of the GHC dodge salute to the hard work community spirit and the dedication of these two fine teams.
Thanks for tuning into GPB and please enjoy the rest of the game.
Dodge grabbed life by the horns and we are back Manchester up on Dodge County, 10 to 4 and as we mentioned, early going hurt.
That press is working it.
If you don't put up a quick shot, it looks like they're turning the ball over, at least on offensive fouls.
It's going Manchester as well.
Yeah, I think they need to get the ball in Garland McArthur's hand.
Let him slash to the basket or, you know, go ahead and take some drives to the basket.
Don't open.
Don't settle for that Open three right away.
You play right into Manchester's hands.
Manchester on an eight and a run in the last couple of minutes An all new lineup for Manchester world get to find as we get going Manchester Jackson three for three has eight points and there you see that continue plus two fresh bodies in there 2131 Trafford And they're picking you up right at the halfcourt line, trying to get you to make a mistake there, maybe get it back corner, get you on that sideline and they're going to trap you.
Jermaine Hamilton now with the little guy is handling the ball.
510 and 20 with the first pass into the crowd defense large inside offense no going on and guards crowd he tries to control it will be managed that's his ball that's county stays man to man defensively you're right first time down there with a mechanism that they took they came out of it so gelling it for self control right now for Manchester of how pumped up by Joe the junior never thought he'd get through those two defensive players but he did and still manages to finish.
Press is still on press has been effective as the Indians try to bring in across half court and instead of settling get back down, going to the hoop.
And you know what?
Good idea.
The ball goes this time for Scott.
But that's sometimes Davis He's a slasher as well and that's you know so yes quick shot at the try to the basket so setting it up working things in dramatic fashion with a brand new lineup in there offered no good rebound thought to be on the referee up and guys kind of looking out they want to run again lobs up for the rim having it early this quarter Scott Well good ball movement there anyhow it was a quick shot but they had a man completely wide open in with two crisp passes.
So what looked like a blowout early has now become a much tighter game 12 to 9.
Normally in this stage of the game, you're not going to blow anybody out.
These are two very good teams and you don't want to tell your team not to take the wide open shot when it's there, especially if it's one of your shooters.
We had a travel, yeah.
Kelly a little over anxious David Garrett in number 13 from Manchester as a wander bell number ten in this is how it's going to go folks all game long they're excited to find out extending the pressure now to three quarter quarter a little bit of zone action there on the press.
James Deluxe, the audience, bring it across content, go up and take an early shot and it's good.
Again, they don't have to worry about a big man.
They can beat somebody off the dribble.
They're going to get the shot inside without worrying about an intimidation factor.
It just comes through with the hoop and it is all with a 701. game that's closer to the hole.
Well, good.
Josh Tanner looking to run slow it down.
He's the double team.
And in that part of the home fans he picking the dribble up he got bailed out there on the double team but time didn't going to pick the dribble up on the sideline they've got to try to be there if he do this very fast First quarter just a quick dirty McCoy dunk Terrific job for the Indians and he did he did run with the ball some during the season It's just glad times when his team got out of control he was okay we're going to slow down for a while, take several good positions.
He did that and so the game's leading up to this one in the playoffs, to the teams there to the line just six five up from give.
Listen, we got a one year old son.
The only one I heard is not giving up the rocket but the ball.
And I love his ball, but he won't pass it back.
He already knows when they shoot he gets the most in looks like that.
But they got it.
It's in the genes so the devils control match.
That's true.
He got a tie ball.
Good dance.
Did it to bring it up.
Except it doesn't do that far for a lot of those have been in transition, so they are very lucky to feel that the first touch again controls and they have to take the defensive boards at least partially blocked on that jump shot attempt up there and a one shot that drops.
Kelly will go to the foul line.
That's again and again.
Danny McCoy not doesn't mind that as much.
It's a lot better take it to the hoop draw the two free throws and to take the three point shot and say they aren't taking the quick shot, but they're approaching the basket with it.
James, as you see there, you see just under seven points a game and Manchester has taken over.
And how about Maya moore swan song last night.
Wow.
But hard to see her go that does well.
Not every high school player coach in the state is not a fan zone.
The best high school player girls that I've ever seen were definitely both so good.
And now Dodge County has taken a two point lead.
So Manchester going to walk it up, see if they can get a better shot this time down the floor.
God stays with it, tough man.
Now throwing it out, three point line, extended match that's just spreading it out almost to the fourth quarters.
And watch that count to the hook up and a foul and they're going to crash.
He got by Scott Tinsley.
I thought it was David Scott.
Fantastic.
He's the first one up there that looks like it's going to be offensive.
And it is so far.
Tell has been very aggressive going to the hoop, but at times out of control.
There's a full court press.
Here it is.
Scott has a 68 tomorrow in the last 2/15 and just a series of runs by each team.
The Panthers first quarter pressure hasn't done much good in the last three or 4 minutes.
Guys.
Town is going to get some good looks, going to the hoop up to no good and it will be interesting.
Ball couple of good opportunities get finish it with Philip Tinsley Nice rebound couldn't stick it back in with 18 left Let's see if we can get the last fourth going for that last shot off the first quarter up and down and he's doing double action Manchester against George County and Brook to just cut out play the games go to in this state finals game I believe they tried to find Tobias Jackson again get him another three point shot or an open look for him somewhere.
He knocked down his first two.
This was not in the ballgame right now.
That's what he's a 41% from three point shooter.
So they might want to get him back in the game and they get an opportunity.
Trevor Jones at the line, only the Junior Ducks coach, Danny McCoy.
Chris coach, Chris Noble about his Manchester team.
I said, How are you this year?
So where does this go?
It's a the fact a this is quite high seventies.
You saw guys lose a lot of players but they have an undefeated JV team.
So the beat will go on for both these teams and certainly Manchester will have a lot of new young talent talking about the beat going on.
How about East Harlem?
I mean, I've never seen it around there.
You hear every year now they have the boys and the girls teams here.
They'll be coming up in the triple AA game after this unbelievable program.
A lot of unbelievable programs in the state.
So cut down the final seconds.
Long shot will not go, but they're having a series of a couple of runs, 14 to 14 all tied up whose will will prevail.
We shall see.
When we come back to Boys high school championship basketball.
You've got my sense.
I can I was I wrote Annie Song when suddenly I was hypersensitive to how beautiful everything was.
Fine like a walk in the rain.

After one boys state title game, Manchester and Dodge County tied up at 14 apiece.
Let's go to our very own Brookside five as check back into the game for Manchester.
He was actually the only player on their team that's ever played here in Macon and he actually helped address the team before the game and tell them what to expect when they played Randolph play in the fact that they need to come out here and don't take it for granted that they can come back here any other time because they lost four years ago in that semifinal game.
Well, it must have been a convincing speech because here they are where there are any surprises first quarter about.
I really thought it would go well.
I thought Dodge County probably shot the ball a little bit when we thought they were going to, but it had success once they started taking the ball to the rim.
Manchester in the dark uniforms and the Indians have the red and white.
Just in the second quarter.
Ball's double reaction.
Nice move, Baseline and that's the way you do it.
John McArthur looking impressive early He is really the classic slashing type player, great body control.
So again back to the starting lineup for Dodge County and such still in there their second team in and that you were talking about from Manchester Jackson but that through was off so controlling guys down here and we'll try to take even a bigger lead against this man today on defense that match referee almost goes with exclusively through the entire game and sometimes those shooters need them to run up and down the floor a few times.
The little thing back up where they take that next three.
But they just had the confidence ball down to go out.
Who will control the counter, where they go, they slowing down or will they take the three of those?
You're at a low point close.
That's a nice four by David Scott right there.
And now Dodge County.
Our series The Road starting to heat up.
That's spreading things out.
You know we talk about Manchester Touch.
The defense does ten plays that give you a couple up and no good control of his ball pressure off him no foul and there's a man receiving the free kick that gets one underneath and Johnson has another to dodge count his defense is starting with Campbell Hollow out front.
He's putting a lot of pressure on the ball and that's that's giving Manchester some problems, making it tough.
Guys got his social in controlling that press, getting it over with no problems manufactured.
They just don't press.
They just press and they shoot.
That president comes with a coming across the half foot long three yard good control by Manchester field Jerry Lucas push shots from the shoulder.
Of course nobody knows who Jerry Lucas knows that you had a couple of the old timers sitting up in the stands.
But I was going to say, if you're under 47, you might not know who Jerry Lucas Royal had that shot he fired from the shoulder.
That's what I was trying to get funny.
Looking for shots both for Ohio State, New York Knicks, great all-American George Curry with a three point lead and the ball slowing down just a bit, walking with the ball just too big.
So turnover on Hardaway and the other.
There we go.
And Danny McCoy can't like that too much for saying that That's his first notice that hey you know what?
Maybe our pressure is starting to take a first look at Holloway.
He loves to play that day stocky, strong and he's got quick feet, Manchester trying to get off a good shot.
Now they're slowing it down and taking their time and filling it out for him off the rim and he'll go the other way.
Jamarcus Stephenson falls on that one a little bit, and I think Holloway is starting to get in his head a little bit.
Steve, I think Curtis Noble, coach Curtis Mobley looked like he had a pain in his elbow.
thank you.
That there was a foul the way we saw Doc Carter looking in solid, steady walks.
He doesn't do a good job of penetrating and getting to the line.
So to do that, I mean, I don't care how good of a team you are defensively here, if you put that much pressure, guys are going to get loose and if you don't get over there for help, this is what happens.
Yeah, Cameo Holloway is doing a good job on defense for Dodge County down here and also running the show.
They had a couple turnovers early, but the last ten or 12 possessions, they played pretty flawlessly.
Only junior just going up and down that trajectory.
But it works a little off of the rotation, too.
A little bit of a nutsy knuckleball up there.
But if it goes in, who cares if Coach Nova sticks with his press and defense?
The whole game?
He said he would.
Okay.
He said he'll just change it up.
It might be a zone or it might be man to man.
But he said he will go the full game with the pressure.
You're right.
We'll keep an eye on it.
So you can see Dodge County sort of almost pushing Manchester off to start their offense getting started on the way to the basket.
The better off you are to the baseline.
And that is a foul.
Got a block on the baseline.
So like Paul in the fourth he loses to he got to the baseline he's almost is there but just thought that it was a good call from coach you know this time of year you got to stick with what you've got throwing it here and you know I was calling for Centennial maybe to back off a little from the east.
No, they'd get down there.
They didn't listen to me and they got back in the ballgame twice.
Hard to believe Coach Lay outside.
you do it.
And that's the way you do it.
Well, welcome.
A senior year averages almost 12 points.
A game shows you why.
Nice three point shot.
Manchester continues with the pressure in good hands.
They had a131 track earlier.
Now they've gone to the two one to full court trap.
So they're changing those full court zone traps up a little bit.
Give the different look go up and down.
We're going a sensational game so far everything we thought it would be Manchester against Dodge County.
Double-A basketball continues right here.

Todd County up on Manchester 2219.
Good to have you with Stu Plotnick and Herb White as we've been partner for five or six years, bringing you some of the best basketball high school basketball around.
We've seen it night in and night out.
Tonight's no different.
You know what?
Talking to Bobby Christmas, who was at the game and he he even he said there's a guy that's really recruited Georgia hard, obviously and New York City and New York City Georgia basketball.
It's amazing how much it's improved in the last, I don't know, six or seven years.
No one would know that better than you either.
Yeah.
There were no players before six or seven years ago.
No, no, you're right.
It the last six or seven, eight years, Georgia's had as good a basketball towns, anybody in the country.
They've always had good talent.
Right.
Never, never the depth that they've got now.
And I didn't mean to be.
No.
Too against Georgia.
But when you got a guy that was drafted, number one, when he got quality brown and he got Dwight Howard.
Yeah.
And he got great players like Humphrey who goes to Georgia, it's really step number one girls player in the country the last two years.
Maya moore Number one team God's count is key to this, to take it to the hoop, just to throw it up.
And here we go.
Manchester will run.
Manchester will look for the breakaways and it will be a foul.
Yeah, coming from behind with the hack.
And I have to point out, Collins Hill is also the number one team in the country.
I mean, Maya moore is not just a one lady shot in there.
It's and what I was impressed with too is, yeah, she scored her points, but they really had some kids that could shoot from the outside that loosens things up for Manchester endowed with just under for ten left.
We're counting down 4 minutes left in the second quarter.
It's been up and down and it's been well play Manchester still looking at an excited to playing great man to man defense on the perimeter You got to get up on Jackson because he's showed he can shoot it and he shows he will switching back now looks like the zone defense the Dodge County up little tough job and that's the way you did for the jacket Jamarcus Stephenson thing.
You know that's the toughest jump shot you can do dribbling to the left and shooting to the right.
Jamarcus averages 32 points a game.
So I think good.
Nicely done for Scott McArthur.
Both look about the same body type and they both can slash and hang in the air and soft touch when they let it go in there.
David Scott will go to the line, try to complete this three pointer.
I'm always interested to hear about being after doing a lot of these games.
Some teams come out very tight tonight, some teams come out very loose.
Well, for seniors on each squad here tonight.
So that helps you to get into the game right away.
Maybe a little jitters, but when you got that age on, you can usually get into the game and 20 to 21 ball game looks like it's shaping up to be what we've had in all the other three boys games we've done this year.
Up in up Manchester Control one point ball game 327 left in the first half here in the second quarter Dodge County as they have all game long just to get a job outside of the national defense inside outside of and falling out of bounds but still making it Stephenson with another big hook now he's your leading scorer starting to pick up the pace a little bit Manchester continues the pressure as we mentioned we'll do this all game long to see if it wears out.
Dodge County Dodge can county control trying to attack a zone defense now a traffic zone defense.
And that is a good spot to go with your traffic in the corner.
So Dodge kind of feels better of it and gets it outside.
that's a steal to hook up.
No good.
And who will control it?
But match ups in here will go the other way within tries to look to nothing.
Going back to outside to Jackson good job by Dodge.
Kind of getting back on the foul outside and you feel match ups you're getting into a little bit of the offensive rhythm to be released.
Jamarcus Stephenson has a nasty pass to his offensive rhythm.
You know that the press doesn't really wear you down.
And let's take a look at the foul again.
Good call.
Any time you come down across arms, they're going to call that.
But it's not the press.
It was Johnson, which is when you turn the ball over and the defensive team takes off on the break and you got to run catch and that's when the press aware.
Yeah.
So if you don't turn it over, it's not going to wear you down there as much.
But that's Kyrie so far doing a good job on the press and protecting the ball and it'll bring it out Looking for the open man just like that easy layup we talked about a pendulum Holloway Just a great look all the way the length of the half court for the man and Danny Tinsley Big six they only a junior six five foot in his last are you a three that if a team presses it knows how to handle a pass better or that it doesn't like you trust Atkins you got hurt both ways and I've never seen which ones have to go with the lay up there.
Nicely done.
How about you?
You've got a philosophy on it, I think.
I think teams that that press a lot don't like being tough.
That's just a theory.
But we would like someone to take on different personalities but cannot maintain that two point lead staying Russell Jackson with the ball in here trying to some good and he charged they got a challenge offensive charge a little out of control such as all right that's the pace I like just keep doing that but without the charge I didn't know you shooters thought about the philosophy of basketball that much.
I thought, you know, let's just get it in the hole.
Having that, we score more than they do.
We win.
We do what we're doing, play by play.
We don't win.
We're playing to us playing.
I didn't think about it, but now that I'm doing play by play, of course I think about it.
It's a different perspective.
Good to have you with us at Georgia Public Television as Coach McCoy sets things up and they've done a good job, they practice against this press.
Well, there's a lot of teams that press these days, so they play a lot of games.
They've seen the press before, maybe not one quite as effective as Manchester, but are they wearing them down like the boxer does when he goes to the body to bring down the head?
We'll see late in the third quarter.
That's when Coach Noble told me this team really make a difference late in the third quarter.
We'll see.
So far so good because they guys to get that ball just that pressure.
Davis got shown some good handles just about a minute left in the second quarter of the fourth Double-A championship game underneath.
Nicely done Not a great pass cameo Holloway time in the lob inside for tens and tens He is doing a good job holding the man on his back and Manchester having a little problems size and you know they're not not as good defensively when they get in the half court as they are and in the fourth quarter Trent Lott up and losing it.
Look at this, guys.
Kind of starting to put the pressure on, starting to get some easy looks on television after they left his good go Gordon with the easy hook.
Let's see if Manchester works for one.
With about 25 seconds left in this second quarter.
Andy down by two long jumpers off.
In short, let's see if he can say the right play.
So Stephenson tried to say that now would be Manchester's ball coach.
No calling for one here.
Makes sense.
So it's the course I get on Stephenson but in ball boy that was close crowd One of the efforts to get control 10 seconds to go to the hook up there and no good rebound as Manchester puts it up nicely dog Jesse Jones walks out looked like he was on the right direction and it was good after we play.
What do you think, Herb?
Go to London 28.
The story of this first half, a series of runs.
Let's go to Gerald courtside.
Hey, thanks a lot.
Two, I'm here with Coach McCoy.
She started off a little bit slow, but they rebounded there very nicely.
Yeah, we were a little a little shell shot there early and we rebound and got beat, was more patient, got better shots and took the ball to the hole a little better.
But it's a good half, you know.
How are you feeling about your players?
Well, you know, we don't think we're tired.
We played nine players I think that afternoon, you know, we got a couple of guys in foul trouble we had on the bench over there.
But, you know, we can rest the guys.
We need to rest, I think.
All right.
Thanks a lot, Coach.
Good luck in the second half.
Back over to you, Stuart.
All right.
Thanks, Gerald.
So after two quarters, 28, 28 tied up in this double play basketball, much more action to come in the second half.
So stay right there.

Nothing resolved after 16 minutes.
Manchester in Dodge County tied at 28.
And it is always that time where Jared Oliveira gets to spend time in the principal's office.
I don't know if he did it when he was in high school, but that's where he is right now.
Gerald, it's all yours.
Thanks a lot, John.
He had put me on the spot there.
Actually.
Right now I'm here with Principal Marlo Henson from Guys County, right from our convention register, and also Dr. Susan Law from Dodge County.
Right now, let's start off ladies first and we'll talk about the program and how you come a long way in the last few years.
Well, we started out with three seniors as our starting fellows out there, and they've all they've played hard and they want to get here and they've earned every bit of time that they have on this court and us.
So we're looking forward to the three of them being able to celebrate at the end of the game and we're going to celebrate with them.
We're just all excited about the opportunity to be here.
Now, I understand you've implemented an interesting program at your school.
You're giving away a car.
Tell me about that.
I we have with a lot of help from the community and the teachers and all the staff, we've implemented a program that recognizes academic excellence and character and also excellence and attendance.
And at the end of the school year, we have to give away a brand new car to one of our lucky students.
But what we did this past week was to hand out some tickets to some students we had.
So many students didn't have any discipline problems, so we almost never got all the all the tickets handed out.
But it was a good problem and we worked hard to get those out.
The students were excited.
We were excited.
And then we're waiting to see who's going to get.
So exactly how did they win the tickets?
They get the tickets all by coming to school every day, not go into the office for any disciplinary problems.
And having A's bays are seized and we're discouraged to take, as according to their four different areas and three take for perfect attendance, 3 to 6 for no discipline, that sort of thing.
At the end of the year, we'll spin it up and pull the lucky person.
I'll that sounds like a great program.
Now let's move over here to Marlow from Manchester.
I know you've got some good things going on over there, Manchester.
Just tell us about some of the programs you've had to improve your school.
Well, we're very proud of Manchester High School, very proud of these boys out here.
They work really hard.
This was supposed to be a rebuilding year for Manchester as basketball goes.
And instead it's been probably one of the best seasons we've ever had.
And and so we feel like we're very fortunate there.
But academically speaking, we have been doing a lot of innovative things with our fucking strategies.
We have been recognized that some of our classrooms are recognized as a model classrooms and actually has some school systems outside the state of Georgia come and visit our classes just to see what kind of innovative, innovative ideas we've been implementing in our in our schools.
So we're very proud of things that are going on there that's been very tight out there, of course, is tied right now at the half.
Just talk about your team's play out there so far.
Well, you know, they've been kind of shaky so far, but we've got we're very fortunate this year to have some really good outside shooting and we're going to be counting on that in the second half to to pull us through.
So we're a second half team, so we'll see what happens.
Our we'll see in the second half.
Thanks a lot for spend some time with us Also, Dr. Log, let's send it back over to you.
Thank you, Gerald.
And I really would have liked to have known about how to get a part of that car that was going on to Dodge County.
And this is a rebuilding year for Manchester.
Wow.
A curve definitely is going to be going up for the Blue Devils.
Biggest question in the second half is will dodge be seeing blue by the time it's over or will Manchester be seeing red by the time it's over?
We're tied at 28 and we've got 16 minutes to go to determine a champion here in the boys bracket.
Now with everything else going on, we're going to have the triple AA championships going on a little later on.
Some exciting basketball there as well.
And we're going to take a look at the first half highlights.
So let's send it back over to Stu and Herb.
All right.
Thanks, Rob.
Kind of surprising.
Dodge County like to keep the pace up.
Manchester.
We weren't surprised that as far as the pace of the game, but good inside, outside game and shooting and scoring by both teams.
Yeah.
Another script like we've seen the last three ballgames again tie ballgame at half.
Looks like we have a barn burner.
Let's look at some of the first half highlights too.
Well, you know, Manchester came out.
We did not expect to snatch Jackson from the outside.
They also took the ball out of the hole.
They were balanced first half.
Yeah, they really were.
And they didn't get a whole lot off their press, which they usually do.
They got most of their points out on their half court offense.
And here's Scotty hitting the outside.
They took it to the hoop.
I was surprised how well they handled the press, handle the pressure and did things like that.
Yeah, that's Scott.
They're David Scott.
He took it to the basket.
He hit the outside jump shot.
And here you see again from the halfcourt offense.
So not a whole lot of anything off the press.
They may have had a couple of turnovers.
I don't think they scored off the press.
So Manchester may able to yeah here's here's your statistics coming up here go ahead Well let's go through it.
I mean you see the field goal percentage.
What stands out today, George County breaking that press, which means they get some easy whoops, they're shooting 50%, three pointers, no one else really good and only six turnovers for Dodge County going against that pressure.
So they really handled it well.
And the points in the paint, they were able to get some lob passes in there and again, without any big guys for Manchester to intimidate Scott and because they're able to score inside we talked about in the first half let's see who style takes over.
Let's take a break and then we're back for second half.
Action each week.

Well what does Curtis Noble, the coach from Manchester, have planned for the second half?
Let's go down to Gerald to find out.
Gerald I'm here with Coach Noble.
It feels like it came out of nerves.
Quick start in the first half, you know.
What are you looking for In the second half?
We're going to have to come out and control them on defense.
We're going to have to take care of Scott number 21 and 23.
They're the go to guys now.
We can do that.
Then we got a chance, a good luck in the second half.
Coach said, Thank thank you Jarell what do you look for second half hurt besides that the coach said controlling obviously Dodge County in their offensive end.
Easier said than done.
And one of the problems with that pressure defense when you got guys like Scott and McArthur, they can beat you off the dribble and take it all the way to the hoop So when you're pressure and that's going to if they beat you, then you're in trouble.
So if they stick with this, it's going to be interesting to see if they can control Dodge County.
Well, I think one of the big reasons Dodge County shooting 50%, just as you mentioned, hurt those easy transition baskets and certainly some baskets off the press.
Here we go.
Manchester, third quarter starting things off in Detroit.
Uniforms going to get scattered to the hoop and no good ball was a tough shot for Stephenson.
Back comes Dodge County.
Dodge County likes the pace of this game so far pulling up way out that outside and no good inside got three down and it got to keep your eye on the inside play accounting the raptors because at Kinsley no in the third okay yeah Cameo Holloway taking the long jumper but they let him take it all the way into the air here was key and not a bad shot and he's under control.
Manchester's spreading things out almost in the fourth quarter as well.
Time jumpers up jumper go down and got strong.
He continues to control the defensive boards.
A couple of quick shots by the corner.
Manchester Golden had the last shot trying to drive every chance, but not to be like that right now.
Dodge got it.
Controlling The ball and the tempo back ball is open, as we like to say.
David Scott with a nice shot.
that's sweet.
And I think a very smart, quick night out.
So here we go.
You know, you talk about it.
Coaches will tell you they weren't part of the game for a lot of the teams here and certainly these two.
But opening of the third quarter in Dodge County came out.
They scored the first four points of this quarter.
Well, I think the Dodge County, you know, the one thing they had to guard against was Manchester coming out force and the tempo on them with their defense of where they played defense.
But since Dodge County has handled that pressure, I think their confidence has grown in this ballgame.
We hope you're enjoying our broadcast.

And thanks for supporting high school sports right here on.
The fish to flow Jack and Herb what our pleasure to be bringing you Double-A boys championship basketball for making it his dogs county against Manchester Manchester Preston tossing and turning the ball over but so far George has been coming out with four turnovers right there.
If I may use a boxing analogy, if you know your opponent has a really good left hook, he hits it with you a couple of times and it doesn't do anything to you.
You don't worry about it quite as much.
Kind of like Manchester's press has not been effective so far.
Going the hole and going to the line was really worthy.
I thought you were going to tell me that if you go in with the right hand going to the right hand, here's the drive, but see the foul and break him across the chest.
Yeah, with him we'll shoot to relieve.
One of the catalysts for this team outage is almost 12 points, but also and this is obvious for a team, the press is like five steals a game.
So I'm guessing you care about guessing.
There are three or four guys that have five or six averaging five or six steals for this match.
So both are good and it is a two point ball game with 6 minutes left in the third quarter.
Guys continue to show good patience against this.
Plus, if you're waiting from the entrance to the tunnel with a couple of other steals and let's turn this thing around.
But so far it hasn't happened.
The guys has five guys who can handle the ball.
Tim Hardaway doing a great job at the point Stephenson leads the break.
It comes back to the whole here and that's what they want to do as one of them gets the whole Manchester with not many points in the paint in the first half so that bodes well for them if they can get in there.
No question.
That was nearly a back court guard slowing things down and looking inside for his last.
And here we go the other way.
David Scott losing control.
Want to shoot that little floater down the lane again?
Once again, Manchester's confidence that will turn us the third quarter towards the end of it is when you want to start to think in terms about trust.
We said that, but you know, hurt, I have to say that drove into the Coliseum up here and saw, I don't know, 40 or 50 of these beautiful, beautiful RV's.
And I said to ten people are traveling here from everywhere in the stadium.
It's getting to be a huge event and it still is a huge event.
But we're having an RV show here tomorrow lit up and easy for Molson to lay off.
Stephenson and that could have given Manchester a two point lead.
Once again, Toronto can expect some defensive pressure to come, but never do it for what it was.
They've got a jam that is both hands behind his head up and running.
Great move.
Nicely done by John Haynes.
Both teams going to the rack in the second half.
Much more aggressive, much more of attacking the basket match up to the try to come back and puts it on the stage and off the wall.
They go play out of nowhere.
Steve It's the afternoon that makes up for this.
Let the little fella showing some hops in that chest.
He continues the full court press walking the ball all over the court and Dodge continues to break.
The press comes up and pulls up in seconds where the boards can still dodge will set it back up.
Watch out for Stephenson controlling it down for a little spin and using the ball back and forth we go tied up as we were at halftime but only 3434 this time and we're halfway through the third quarter state in double championship basketball coming away from here and make a terrific crowd.
No look pass underneath 3 seconds.
There's a tie.
You don't see much, but you got to call it after seven or 8 seconds anyhow.
Well, up and down we're going.
It was tied at half.
Both teams throwing has reduced about a boxing analogy their best shots.
But still with about halfway through the third quarter, 3434 Manchester and George got it all tied up.
We're back in a moment.
Funding for this program is provided by the Georgia High School Association.

On behalf of Verizon Wireless in the GHC, thank you for your support.
Coach Danny McCoy of Dodge County telling the guys You just have to go guys and more together on that offensive side of the ball.
You get it down to half court and put it back out for another good shot.
On the other hand, coach who's going to say, Hey, look, the press is going to wear it down, It has our season.
Hang in there, guys.
I don't know what the biggest lead what's the biggest lead we've had in this game since, I would say four or five points?
Yeah, I've been going back and forth.
And if you remember in the first half, you Manchester had a run of eight points.
Taj kind of came back with a run of ten points.
And so far there have been no words.
You're waiting for one of the teams to have to take over and had a roll.
Stevenson performed the ball for Manchester as he does and has done all season and it looks like now to just a little more deliberate coming out, looking inside is brilliant.
Once again, denying the basketball to the ball, Stevenson tries to throw it up.
Numbers step nicely done.
He's got a nose for the ball.
It's the second offensive rebound in three trips and what a fall away jump shot there.
He's done that twice tonight.
He's got some baseline So Dodds got it down by two the fake and up and in and now he's getting inside and we're still tied He's got four on this hands and this quarter of those good off the ball control by guards shouting I love this matchup the point guard with DeMarcus Stephenson for Manchester and Camille Holloway I hadn't heard much about him coming in this ballgame, but with such different body types.
Stephenson Real slim and quick and hollow, really.
STOUT And strong.
Well, both of them really run their kids well, I'll tell you, you got a shot at both coaches.
It's a little warm in here.
They're going to lose five or £6 by the time this game's over.
I could use the extra dots better to look underneath, trying to get stuff.
The guy still tied up.
He's been close the entire way to the hall and not to be.
And here comes Manchester McArthur gliding again.
Couldn't get it to go down.
Stephenson setting things up for Manchester.
They come in to those games 2018 three looking for a state title.
Gosh Johnny, I've been impressed with their man to man defensive tackle.
I mean they play good tough man and aren't doing their defense.
And I'm telling you, it starts with that guy out front.
Holloway Stephenson tries to pull the trigger like underneath the little guy.
He'll go up and he will go to the line and he knew he was going to get crushed.
But still, he knew if he put up a shot to get two from the foul line, flush it.
No.
Watching this replay, he knows someone's coming.
He's just going to wait for him to come in and put up the shot.
He.
Good job.
Good.
Meanwhile, Kinsley checks for the Indians.
Now, when you're when you're shooting from the field, you want to fade away.
But when you're shooting from the foul line, you don't want to throw away one one.
Kinsley did a good job in that first half for the Indians.
Got a couple of points in the paint using his big body on Stephenson Solid on that second shot.
That's Curtis Noble told me before the game that we'll see five come in and five lead and he did that one time during the first half.
That really hasn't got access.
No sign of fatigue in Dodge County yet with eight 4069, 36 to play in the ballgame.
Got guys looking around the perimeter, that's one of their stars, if not their star.
And that's why I did it.
Start with a beautiful looking jumper who's got the total package.
Three point game, guys, counterattacks back and forth, who's going and him trying to look inside once again.
That's set up now just talking back and that's it all.
If that's the job I was about to say, look at the way Dodge County moves their feet on defense every of their players as the real active seed.
That's what you need to do to draw the charge.
And just a clinic right now for the Indians the way they're playing the D Dodge County as it happened the entire night, controlling the ball on that press.
We'll get back out to our stock to do tough shot.
And I believe that James was reaching a lot of contact on that series.
But the foul call only on Haines at the end was that everybody else got to hit somebody and you call it on me.
You know what?
You know who they called it on?
They called it on David Garrett.
A match up or so Dodge County will be the team possession, setting it back up with just under a minute to go so up good and nicely done by Tinsley That's a65g short some range came off that side wing looking for the shot and squared up nicely.
So now it seems like an enormous lead He's there for points got down the left wing counting down the third quarter arc nice but knocks it in there is controlling in both ends is the goal hello we're always looking up the floor to see if somebody is open.
Shots can probably go in for one two in this quarter.
Nope.
Taking the shot low.
And how about for the sky in the sky?
Showing us a little bit of everything here today and we were waiting for another one.
And here it has come from Dodge County and a good time to end the third quarter now, man, just working for the last shot and go get it up quickly.
You're going to get a hold.
Try to get a hold with one second left in the quarter.
That's big.
Four points here.
Four for Manchester.
I mean, it's only six points.
But in a game like this, do you know when this is low score and defensive struggle, which this has turned out to be?
Every possession is big as he hits these two, it will be a five point ball game.
We've got county up because we're down to 8 minutes to go in the old ballgame.
Second up looking for buckets.
The first two to and here's McCoy going to get a couple of his ball players out as just slashing forwards give them a rest couple seconds a couple of seconds.
Why not?
You're probably not going to get a decent shot off.
They'd have an extra throw.
You got the timeout after the quarter.
Smart coach introduced the little things drives with 2 seconds off the rim and that's how the quarter works.
So dodge County starts to get hot.
This is out from the outside maintaining good pace.
Get ready.

8 minutes to determine the boys double AA champion.
Let's go to Gerald, our very quick side.
Hey, Stu.
I was over in the Dodge County huddle.
The Coach McCoy was pointing at each one of the players in that last break saying, Are you tired?
Are you tired?
You got eight more minutes and all we need to do is win one more quarter and then come out here and try and close things out in this game.
Back over to you, Stu.
All right, Joe.
Yeah, At this point, this time of the season, when you're this young and that adrenaline's flowing, no one's going to be tied down.
You never tell the coach to tell.
Bobcat is spreading it out.
We've been impressed with a lot, including David Scott.
He's really hit some big jumpers in that third quarter in surprise Manchester in his own and they're down up trying to go inside and manage.
That's the controls.
Let's see what they do here on offense.
Stevenson, the leading scorer give him the ball and he will set things up wide open for the three three no good and pull the trigger to welcome the back to be counted.
A little more deliberate slowing down just a tad.
Well, I don't throw a lot of morale in the zone.
he's up a little clock.
Why not?
Way outside.
Little short day the Scotsman feeling, but not on that one.
So it comes naturally.
Thank him for not happy with that shot.
No reason to shoot that against the zone.
He can get that any time outside with another three.
Follow him down the lane and nicely done by Willie Latham.
So here we go.
Coming down the stretch and it's a three point game.
Here's a guy like having a ball in his hands.
He's going to take care of a cameo.
Holloway has played an excellent point for Dodge County this evening.
You brought up a great point, two terrific match up of two different styles with two different effective guards.
Say it Defensive pressure by DeMarcus Stephenson and Stephenson, a point guard who looks to score cameos just looking to distribute.
And that's brilliant.
First mistake he's made since the first couple of first minutes of the ballgame.
Coach Noble getting a little Gatorade for the stretch.
Coach McCoy with the directions.
Both coaches done a terrific job this evening.
Here we go, students looking for another defense.
That's its classic defensive stance.
They're no good number three quarter for one lose turn that drives rough.
And in that time you get the wall guards shot in little more than they did with a three point game and a three point lead to the hole that time he was out Tennessee kept penetrating penetrating no help made the smart play finished it Holloway with a nice drive and it's now like it's going to be a tough game of football in terms of just putting everything under there and I couldn't help but notice all the time out for Dodge County.
Good time up Coastal Corps.
I wanted that jump ball, but he didn't get it.
And first of all, we'll do some diagrams.
5 minutes and 47 seconds.
Somebody is going home with the state championship stoops in anybody's ball game right now.
Manchester has averaged seven points and tonight only 41.
So unless they start a barrage of three pointers and fast, they're not going to get close to that.
And even though they have been pressing it, even though we said Dodge County, Herb has been trying to attack that, but still the pace of his game, Dodge County.
Well, you win championships with defense, too.
And we saw that with Tucker the other night, played a great defensive game.
And to win their ballgame and go across played good defense last night and Dodge County stayed in this ball game and turned the defensive pressure on to Manchester, which was kind of a flip flop after the three pointer and touches nothing but error with Stevenson.
But Manchester, the trees will reset, spreading it up in the four corners, looking inside and then looking back at getting a little one on one.
Right now.
And that is not a very good shot.
Again, excellent defense by McArthur Bass Jackson trying to penetrate McArthur, just maintain his defensive position.
He has the long arms, nowhere to go.
Well, still over 5 minutes to go.
Plenty of time.
Don't need to force anything now.
No panic time.
Just play good, solid defense as you mentioned, and try to get some easy hooks.
The double team in the corner.
That's what Manchester likes to do.
And Dodge kind of calls a timeout.
Coach McCoy coughed up.
All right, so it's for Coach McCoy.
What are you telling your players?
Tell them what they're going to play the zone track.
We just got to be smart, fellas.
Make the good pass, make somebody is there and look to score.
If we get it.
We don't have to be in a rush.
We can use up some clock.
Look for the good shot.
All right.
Well, breaking the action.
We'll take a break and then we're coming back with.
2:00 to to the promo.
I thought it was a break here, hero score.
Well, let me remind you, don't miss the live broadcast.
The guy co 26 Ed possum Festival Parade.
That happened sunday, March 18th at 3 p.m. right here, right here, making colorful floats and military use, marching bands and much, much more.
Take the city of mostly carries through in beautiful downtown Macon.
Sunday, March 18th at 3 p.m. right here on Back to the game we go double action.
It is a five point lead for Dodge County over Manchester.
Looking around a zone defense, it's going to be tough.
And then once again, defense.
And here we go to the foul line.
So a little surprise.
Dodge County's decided they want to take it to the hoop and I just take it around on the outside till Manchester fouled.
Me or gave me a wide open shot.
No need to force the action here.
You got the five point lead.
Charles Gordon will be going to the line junior tomorrow at the foul situation is just going up first and good ahead That is a six point lead and in this game, a six point lead.
It seems like a 15 point lead because it gets that tight, set the up and then go and because Dodge County is so tough to score against Johns County in the league coming down the stretch by seven Stevenson trying to get things going for Manchester gets the high pick the Dodge County plays it well Stevenson up top shot up and good and that is how it's done here in that one good defense he just jumped over Holloway and stuck it and now Manchester City could be a full court picking up half court.
And there's the track.
That's County, as we've mentioned all evening, was handling a well looking underneath for the easy hooks up and no good and Manchester with the ball and that's what they want you to do take that quick shot and start running the other way.
With just over 4 minutes left a five point game, Stevenson gets the ball off things to Manchester and he looks like he is going to try to take over as a coach.
His first things out and then over the back Stevenson Jackson playing a two man game that time on one side of the court.
Well, McArthur really didn't have to reach over.
He's got the height on Jackson should just play honest defense Stephenson again inside that shot that's it that's a really tough shot Jackson had to hesitate and put it in and now it is a three points game one possession games to so far Dodge County again handling the pressure it back out now just as I say, that falls on the ground and those 23. should give it up another shot blocked no gets the two for the price of one still blocked up there and then up Scott with the ball again we're tied three times now catches up to a teammate who fell down for one That's a shooter Sims that puts it in and that's a five point game.
Stephenson is still a sensational shot.
It's only a two.
I guess it's still a three point margin from picking it up, players picking it up almost a turnover by that Manchester Cross, but not to be to the rim.
And there it is.
They win a quarter and a half without letting Manchester's press bother him And now they've got the lead.
But it's getting down to crunch time and they're making a few mistakes trying to force the action to 14 left three point game Manchester with the ball and this is the man who has had the hot hand Jamarcus Stephenson huge possession the two man game looking inside again Scotty as they have been just impressed with their defense both outside and inside on the low pass press inside is up and good and that should be a three pointer for Willie Robin and now to tie the game nice ball work there.
A lot of patience by Manchester three or four five passes foul one of them under and he makes the tough little fadeaway on the baseline.
You know sometimes when you're a pressing team to get somebody transition baskets, you tend to have less patience in the half court offense.
But it's a great point guard patience they're working it around is an easy shot and perhaps as a three point game and we're tied up just a more time and tested the last few times and showing the patience guys counter.
Yes, in a little bit.
Let's see what they do here down the stretch.
We can dodge spreading it out against that traffic.
Manchester, man, the defense now a bit of his own trapping zone Stephenson almost with an interception and a steal Josh Kelly inside up and inside no good follow up by the man who has the size advantage inside.
He's got it all day long McArthur Here we go.
Timeout Manchester.
great ball game.
Not as high scoring as some of the earlier boys games we had, but just as tight and just as tense.
Dodds County 52 Manchester 50 with 139 left in this ballgame Manchester in that one three Trafford What Dodds Counting wants to do with that too is get rid of the ball quick.
So there you see it.
Manchester with a couple of 60 seconds.
County has 36 teams left.
No one has 31.
There's the fouls, Dodge County with five, so they're two away from being in the one and one, but nobody really in foul trouble.
Very well played game clean wise as far as fouls, two things impressed me that we didn't think we'd see in this game.
One, Dodge County has really handled that cross to Manchester the second half as good, really good in their path.
Brutal Nissan, correct answer here.
Think you want to be just a transition team and the other you have tough times against the press but besides that one turnover here scouting has been very impressive.
Handling the ball well.
I think you credit the coaches in that situation.
You take out the other teams giving and you credit to the players.
And again, a lot of seniors here, they've been in a lot of ball games and you have to adjust and they've made the adjustments and boy, what a great ballgame either team, whoever wins this one, you got to feel bad for the other guy but just a great, great ball game.
Manchester has a star shooting 50%, mostly because of this young man putting in some awfully tough shots.
I spoke to Stephenson, so a little bit of a weave.
And there you see that game on one side of the court that potentially left on his end.
That is a foul.
And here we go.
Jackson will go for the wide with the opportunity to put it off in his Double-A championship game by one with just under a minute throw.
Well that's a foul you don't want to commit you're not going to stop that layup and take over the back and just gave him another opportunity for a point and if they score here the interested to see how Manchester plays it defensively if they come out fourth quarter thank you the same thing I think that Manchester's been dropping back to half court I think third maybe it's drop back to half court.
So you don't give jobs kind of an open look job and he's a little off and no good.
So we are tied again I look for McArthur, I look for Scott shot, give them the ball and see if he can't get something those two guys can create.
And then he go, They dropped the ball down, not even half court.
Trust it to their defense by Manchester looking for the Hudson Jones Nice follow up McArthur dominant inside plenty of time one minute to go look for the big shot and Steph just getting it out man go shift the ball and he is going up and Jackson hitting been huge in his third quarter with two big hoops last two trips down back and forth, both teams rising to the occasion on offense to everybody making clutch shots now.
All right he had one boys game got over time to start another one reached out to John's count.
He ripped the ball against Manchester less than 30 to go.
Tough shot up not sure in Manchester control.
that's a really tough shot there for Scott And Manchester wants a timeout and one on to talk it over 5454 this ballgame tied up it was tied up after two quarters of play.
It has been nip and tuck the whole way.
All right.
You got to think that it's a two man game again.
Why not Stevenson and Jackson the last two trips Jackson has gotten inside.
So what do you do?
You're not counting.
How are you going to you going to double team Jackson?
I just playing like I've been playing it, you know, Jackson Just make some really tough shots.
You got to figure he can't keep making these impossible shots over the outstretched hands of Scott or McArthur, but he's done it.
I just play straight man to man a lot of pressure on the ball and go to the boards hard.
And, you know, Manchester, they got to look for the good shot.
Stevenson's an option if he sees it.
You know, they may go to Jackson down low.
So what a great ball game.
But this is where the coaches earn their money.
Well, there's your foul situation.
You find out one left, four Manchester three for Dodge.
Got it down Dodge County next foul will be in the bonus.
Yeah that's a moment ago by Scott was probably an ill advised shot You hate to say that for a kid in this situation because both teams have played so great.
But let's just see what Manchester can come up with and what do you what do you like?
What did you like to start to feel the situation?
Start your offense with 21 seconds.
You want to start to play with ten to go, 7 seconds to go.
Yeah.
I'd rather go ahead and get into something half time to get offensive, rebound or foul if you had to, if the other teams thought so.
I just go into it as soon as it's something lousy.
Stevenson With the ball down the stretch we go there's the clock, there's a shot.
There's no call for a three pointer by Stevenson.
That's killer.
You can call a timeout.
But alongside a three point win and all they see about are the week after and what a finish and what a game.
As Manchester wins on a sensational three point play at three point shot by Stevenson as David Scott came down and just barely missed it from almost distance that's there's Stevenson's three we've talked about it Jamarcus Stevenson Manchester wins that was the double play and here's the replay here's Stevenson with the three pointer.
Well, actually his foot was on the line, gave him a three, but it was a two.
Didn't matter just what he has been doing the nice crossover move it up and I will tell you what that last shot, if it had just two more inches Herb I thought it was going to start it was going all the way, but I'm surprised they would have had to come back and look.
That was definitely a two point by Stevenson.
Look at this.
We'll come back.
We'll have activities.
This what a game.

I know I'm happy.
