Welcome inside Macon Coliseum for the Georgia High School Association, a state championship game as the Region four champion in 27 and three Crawford Eagles take on the region, one champion in 27 and three Seminole County Indians.

And good afternoon.

I'm Matt Stewart, joined by my partner, Larry Smith.

And Larry, it's been a while for these two teams to play for the state championship game.

And whoever gets that long awaited state title is going to do it in a very different way.

Yeah, they really will.

These two, again, one very deliberate one is one that really wants to press.

We saw that in yesterday's afternoon game, the one A and one an up and down affair that was that was yesterday.

Great crowd as well.

We've had a really good attendance here in some of these early games.

And no question again today.

Look at the crowd here.

A lot of yellow you could see there from Crawford County as we get ready for this one.

The deliberate team is Seminole County.

They're led by Georgia Bulldogs commit junior Jordan Harris.

He can take the top off.

He scored 42 points in their quarterfinal win against Manchester a couple of weeks ago.

Yeah he did he is outstanding Mitchell a Georgia commit already just a junior Jordan Harris is but he's smart he can do so many things and not only that also averages almost four steals per game as well so a64 guard really again how he goes is how Seminole County will go today.

Meantime, the fast paced team is Crawford County.

They'll play a full court press.

They're averaging close to 83 points per game during the playoffs and they're led by their junior William Jarell, who scored 48 points in their first round playoff win.

48 points.

Let me repeat that in their first round win against Dublin.

And remember high school, only 32 minutes in high school games.

He's the region player of the year.

Look at those numbers, 26 points per game, 14 rebounds a game and only eight, by the way, he likes to share the sugar as well.

Six assists per game as well for William Gerald.

He's an outstanding talent.

You mentioned he had his 21 points last year, now 26 points this year.

This is a kid who, again, really knows how to shoot the basketball fantastic talent, getting looks from teams like Mercer, George Mason and South Alabama.

Like we said, it's been a while for these two teams.

Seminole County last won a championship in 1998, the last time that Crawford County won the title 1982 with a young man named Kenny Skywalker, led them to back to back state titles.

So with that, let's send it over to Sam Crenshaw.

All right.

You talk about Crawford County.

They make the shortest trip to this facility that any team in this league only 28 miles away.

And their coach, Clyde Zachary, is old school.

He arrived in the school back in 1974 as a jayvee coach, coached the girls for a while.

One season he coach both boys and girls.

He says.

You know what?

In this day and age where coaches are breaking down film on YouTube, on their phone and he does none of that, they do no scouting of the opponent.

Basically.

They take care of their own business and get ready to play this game.

I asked if the coach had to sleep last night.

He says that very well.

I think.

My wife said I didn't wake up calling and he plays it much like Coach is ready to go.

So is his team.

43 year at Crawford County High School, and he's got them back in the state championship game for the first time since 1982.

Your Regions bank starters for Crawford County, Saffold Raines, Wiggins, Gerald and Knowlton Knowlton, a big T, he plays inside for them.

They like to play inside out.

If Middleton's having a big game, the Eagles are having a big game too.

Seminole County, led by ninth year head coach Kevin Godwin.

And here's a look at his region's main starting lineup.

The aforementioned Jordan Harris, Sampson, Fudge, King and Pearson came and Pearson also big time scores.

All three of these young men.

Harris Keenan Pearson been playing and you bowl together since they were 13 years old.

KING averages 18 points per game, and Pearson averages 15 and a half rate matchup here.

These two can't wait to see Harris and Jarell at the same time as well.

It Jarreau also close to 14 rebounds a game and six assists per game.

He goes just about everything for offensive rebound Raines lost it out of bounds and it will long for Seminole County first ever state championship game for Seminole County three previous state finals came in single-A and their last in 1998 when they won their first and only state title under head coach Reggie Knight.

So on defense right now by Crawford County King takes the three point shot long rebound chased down by Wiggins ready for the three That's a big shot right there Raines averages nine a game interesting that Crawford has not started this game in the press Well pretty much play it to three or three to zone three ball in the corner offensive rebound stripped away from SWAT Sampson and it will be Seminole County ball on the baseline and the point guard Alex close to the eye right there he asked me if he's okay he's going to play on fouls going to be called on Jordan Harris.

They've got trouble early trouble for Seminole County is Jordan Harris actually did they not fault they called it on Pierson, Mark Fox, Georgia Bulldogs and Phillip Pierson, his right hand man sitting to his right top assistant coach sitting there, one to watch.

And Jordan Harris, who's committed to the Georgia Bulldogs, committed back in September, cannot sign until November.

Georgia Bulldogs will close out their regular season tomorrow against the Auburn Tigers on the road, Gerald off back Iron and Harris grabs the rebound long baseball pass and the way it was going to tonight, as Keenan puts it, it King nearly comes up the steal By the way the foul that I said was on Harris His second was not on Harris.

It was on Pearson instead.

So that's better news for Seminole County.

But that left handed full court pass right there by Harris to start the break and get King to pass him with the run.

Harris comes up the steal.

He averages three and a half those per game misses the layup no box out on he puts it in Anthony King does a nice job on these playoffs 18 points versus Manchester with 15 versus five already on the board here with a couple of baskets.

First team all region one single double way Gerald to Miss Harris another rebound.

Gerald Ford coast to coast and Pearson hits the second foul on Pearson so that is trouble too It's tough for them.

Pearson There's so much against those guys.

He had foul trouble in the last game in the semifinals.

You can see that that was Gerald Castronovo elbow right there and got away with it.

But again, the elbow, the referee, his position was blocked And see it now goes against Seminole County.

Kevin Godwin, meeting with his Seminole County Indians, averaged 59 points per game, Crawford County averaging close to 84 points per game in the playoffs.

So who controls the tempo here in this state championship game will likely be the winner.

Kevin Godwin told us they need to keep the game of the 60 down.

He doesn't get more free throw shooting, so he's got a fix.

So Raines comes up short shot might have been tip five for three.

Harris might have been the last to touch it.

And he was.

Yeah.

They lost their three games by a grand total of six games.

And foul shooting was the primary culprit three pointer.

Damien Samuel.

He's dead.

Jeffery was a member of their 1998 semifinal team that lost to Seminole County.

Seminole County beat Crawford in the semifinals back in 1998 and went on to win the state Title one game later, Pearson had his shot blocked by Milton.

Gerald Austin Saffold got it tight over the back fouls to be called and believe on Jalen.

We know what William Gerald can do, but Nolan Wiggins reigns sampled the bench.

Everyone else has to come through.

Right now.

Jarell has six points.

Everyone Nelson's team has six points.

They've got to get more production out of the rest of the players.

They're going to take on the state championship today.

Well, both these teams need to settle down a little bit in their offense.

Crawford County missed one of their last or maybe just one of their last six shots, four of 12 from the floor, two of four on their threes, two of five at the foul line.

Seminoles Seminole County, rather, made just one of their last six and they were five for 21 from the floor in the first quarter.

One for ten on their three.

Yeah, that's what I like it.

That's way too many three pointers, two attempts right there.

Take it inside.

Nice tip.

And right there, work the ball inside and that doesn't work.

Then tries an outside shot.

You have enough athletes and enough game.

Make that work first.

That was the fifth offensive rebound for Seminole County already in this ballgame out of there.

Nine total rebounds drains the Miss rebound control by Harris Harris already has five rebounds, four points, three steals and a turnover on Seminole County.

Samson couldn't control the boy.

Harris has got such great hops and he's got great instincts, too.

I know he's a wing player at the next level six five, where he can really sky and rebound that he's been recruited as a two or three guard.

So a shooting guard or a small forward, a wing player.

As you just mentioned, ESPN, three star shooting guard, he committed to the Georgia Bulldogs on September night.

But it's just a commitment.

It's not a sign he can't do that until November.

One point lead, Seminole County opening minute plus of the second quarter turnover and another turnover range runs down the air pass, three ball drains, and that was made possible by three ball movement.

So David Sampson or Dwayne Sampson, pardon me, is in foul trouble with the fans.

Again, both these teams for their first opportunity, I believe the entire game, the starters and going all the way.

Look at it right there in good strength right there by Gerald.

You get the ball close Jarell with his 10th point becomes the first player this afternoon to reach double figures This is some pretty big news for Seminole County.

They only go about seven deep and so now one of their seven deep is on the bench not yet halfway through the second quarter.

The three personal fouls, some of the 33 Justin Washington coming in for Samson.

Samson down until the second half, 3000 Harris three.

Jordan Harris now with nine Nice inside out right there with Washington finds the wing Harris for the three nice sequence by Seminole County another one right here Nelson with a nice feed inside for Wiggins team clutch chases down the rebound gets it to Harris he puts it on the floor Washington the miss and Pierson pardon me the miss and now Pierson again dropping the ball.

Tough play right there.

But let me tell you something.

I really like the way you talked before about the two star players.

But right now, these are two teams playing well, talking, communicating, sharing.

It's an outstanding start to this game.

Three and a half minutes until halftime.

And Seminole County has a one point lead.

And as money inside to Jarell Pierson the rebound he will bring it up for Seminole County four point lead for the Indians 510 The drive of Harris misses the tip of the night, the second time in a position a double double now I think for that offensive rebound 14 points for Jordan Harris and Kevin Godwin made no bones about it.

We talked to him before the game.

He said we're in the state championship game because of Jordan Harris.

I'm in the state championship game because of Jordan Harris A great energy to stay with and that's the thing again, for our young players to watch.

Always stay with your shot.

You never know.

He was right there.

Oh, you know where it's coming off?

You know how you shot.

Well, it felt you see, Gerald hit that free throw again.

That's an Achilles heel for the Eagles.

12 points for here in the first half.

48 point performance in their 9689 first round win against Dublin.

Also at 16 rebounds and nine assists, nearly a triple double in a 32 minute game.

Knowlton on the feed inside to Washington nicely done by Savoy about it It's been there to the post Middleton jump hook Pearson the rebound lost the dribble Moore resets the offense for Crawford County in the 14 Tyrod Reaves in the game now for Crawford County first substitution we've seen the final minute of the first half Seminole County with their largest lead of six points here 30 to 26 nearly stolen by Keene who jumped the route and knocked it out of bounds.

It almost underscored them and more pawns the ball seven turnover for Crawford county Seminole County again you've got the six five Harris playing the point that's tough he's long and athletic so keep running the point here which allows him to put Harris on the lead Pearson at the foul line rebound won by Washington in the corner Pearson inside the Harris good did not get him off in time and Seminole County in third in search of their third state since 1998 their first ever in Double-A leading Crawford down 30 to 26 at halftime a great second half for them second quarter for them 21 points, second quarter to take this lead here going into the half.

All right.

Let's go to Sam Crenshaw with Kevin.

Got it.

We're talking to Coach Godwin.

Coach talks about the first half of this game.

Well, we got off to a slow start.

That was that was a big deal for us, was to get going.

I didn't know if we were going to get going and a slow start for us.

But once we got going, starting to shoot the ball better, a little bit better, it made a big difference.

In the second quarter.

I thought we picked up our shooting a little bit in the second quarter and got into doing the things that we need to be doing and controlling the tempo of the game.

What we were talking about before we came out, got another have a basketball to go.

What are you going to talk to your team about here at halftime?

What tempo is going to be a big thing?

We did a good job defensively, a big game plan.

Defensively, we had to stop Crawford.

They're very good offensive basketball team and we did a good job of that.

So defensively we got to keep keep doing what we're doing and controlling the tempo of the game.

That's going to be a big keys for us.

And we're only 16 minutes away from crowning our boys champion today.

And we have a lot of talk about all of that going on on social media right now that Jordan Hair is quite an offensive threat.

We've got a lot of chatter about him.
