The epicenter of high school football championship weekend.
You come inside the big top, as we get ready for the class double a championship in the great state of Georgia.
On one its side.
It's Benedictine on the other side is GAC, trying to get the perfect season.
We say, happy holidays, to you and yours on this great Saturday game, too.
Of our Championship Saturday.
Guilt Tyree along with the former Villanova Wildcats and Atlanta, Falcon, Brian finneran, and Brian.
We have a Dandy here for this second.
Game of the day.
We really do.
Can be a fire fighter output with these two guys going at it and Brandon Stewart.
Brad Stewart, the wide receiver for Benedictine 19 yards of catch, kicking just fly.
45 type 40s bead and really gets after it.
The 427 GPS, as well.
When your GPA creeps up on your 40 time.
We're doing something right, Bernie cerebro.
Absolutely.
He's going to go to Yale in the fall and then you talk about and you talk about GAC side of the football and you look at a bird, Mega Abernathy running back, everything 10 yards, a touch over 1,000 yards on.
The season, really does a good job, finding the football making people miss and can score from anywhere on the football field yards, after catch and the Abernathy name.
Very famous in the city of Atlanta and the great state of Georgia.
Now, let's go downstairs to the third member of our crew today.
The better looking of all of us Grace Olson.
How you doing?
Far too?
Kind Gill.
Thank you.
I'm great.
It's great to see you again.
Now.
It obviously takes a full team to reach a state finals appearance, but there's no doubt that JC linebacker.
Paul Carruthers has been a key piece in their State title run this year 108 solo tackles on the season plus 41 assists, not to mention a record-setting, 22 solo, assists and 22 solo, tackles and 26 totals in last week's semifinal win over Fitzgerald, but if you ask Paul battle, Those individual records.
He tell you to stop while you're ahead.
He and the team.
Truly do everything for the betterment of their team and of their defensive unit and they created something in 2013, called the black shirt defense, where every game all the players are working to earn a black shirt every week and it's kind of unique to become a club in a way and they even created a code that they follow.
So obviously a mature group of young men.
We've got a lot to see on their defense and a lot total today out here on the field.
Auntie Gil.
Grace, thank you.
We're about ready to kick this thing off and be, we're going to have a good one.
I'm looking forward to a guilt.
Ha ha, you look at go build our Georgia.
Kickoff.
Gobuildgeorgia.com will Kenworthy that a great game last week against Fitzgerald, boots it up and taking it on the short and 15 and moving it.
Straight ahead for Benedictine.
Good coverage there by GAC, not a whole lot on the return.
That's we got to start field position and tackle and special teams.
Early on here.
And of course, one of these two teams is going to take a state championship back to their campus.
We talked about it earlier GAC, you see, Stevie Powers, the quarterback.
We're number one for the cadets in a kid that has a whole lot of smarts.
Regions Bank offense, check the offensive line.
You see Flaxton Creech Thompson boils and night and then you get stored.
Chance, Jackson Harris, Kennedy, and hold you.
Good job by GAC.
Defense are swarming to the football.
Spartan 01 03 for Renton Washington in the middle.
And of course the linebackers that coach talked about Carruthers and and cook see, both are going to division one.
And then you see the secondary led by on either side Abernathy and shake it off.
I'm catching the school and getting close to the 44 yard line.
They dumped it off that look like whole Gene.
The Lefty Powers is a nice job.
Still.
Each pass there and a nice.
Find some yardage and converts.
A first down gain of 13.
So little check down a little tight end screen pass their off the chip block, very nice design by coach an old Jane is six, foot two 180 pounds of sing around the right side fighting for yardage.
Was chance, Jackson at tailback 1,000 yards, 511 180, 1 pound, senior and a good job by the GAC, defense to string it out.
Paul Carruthers.
Number 36, you will see him around the football, all game long.
You're in his hear his name, called twenty seven tackles last week.
I believe in a 4441 Victory.
Unbelievable at 108 all year for going into this game today.
Brian solo tackles and like you said, 22 tackles last week against Fitzgerald.
It'll win 40, 42 41.
That's how it is.
We get stood up and push back and he may have lost a couple.
That's these Fleet bring it up.
He's saying, does a good job.
Both last two plays, the cornerbacks Abernathy and Slayton a bit of a great job coming up and fill in right here.
Great taco, go low go low on the big backs, cut their legs out from underneath them and stop the momentum.
Great job.
IGA sees defense that will bring up third and 12.
The ball at the 42.
The Southpaw Powers located long as a receiver open and almost picked off.
And we see flags on the play, the intended receiver with Stuart down at the 20 yard line Stewart's.
Again, I think and flat-out stretch the field Gil and that's what they tried to do their powers short on that thing a little bit under thrown.
But Stewart did a great job as you'll see here in the replay, come coming back and trying to make a play on the football to where the DB had to run right into.
Him and so here's Powers throws it, deep down.
The left.
Sideline.
The Deep post is Stewart, and he comes back, trying to make a point in the DB.
Just runs into him and nothing to DB computer Abernathy defending on the play.
It's also the first down.
Shop place.
I'll take all game long.
Try to make those big plays.
We talked about in the extra point.
Earlier strong, safety boggling was there too.
Benedictine get the play call from the sidelines from coach Britt.
See what they come up with here on a first and ten after the penalty First and Ten at the 43.
Still struggling and gaining yards almost tackled for a loss for Benedictine.
So John Kennedy does a good job, running the football as a lot of yards for them this year.
See you just a little nice little Jet Sweep to the left.
Try to make it make some yards out of nothing.
Then GAC does good job swarming to the football.
John Wesley.
Kennedy.
Second and nine a gain of one that's Powers loading up.
Again, looking long and had stored out there about it.
The 10 other deep shot.
Just do it right down, the seam line up at the tight end position, almost in the slot and try to take advantage of that GAC, safety position in the ball, just a little bit over, throwing that time, you get a look at Danny Britt and of course, Danny also, Director.
At Benedictine.
Done an outstanding job.
39.
Out of the shotgun Powers.
Loads up has a receiver over the 30 down to the GAC 29.
And that pass was complete a gain of 13.
Great job by the receiver, Joe Hogan here.
Trying to make a plan that football goes up and snatches it with his hands gets hit.
And you know, you're gonna get hit, you might as well catch a thing and that's exactly what he did and they move the chains.
Again.
Another first down for Benedictine.
This is those short passes as you talked about be now the simple curl flat concept and Powers.
Did a great job putting on his receiver.
So first down, as it drive stays alive, you see the Man in Motion Powers again looking for his buddy, stored, jump ball and he gets it touchdown.
What?
29 yards and catch.
We talked about in the opening will talk about in the rest of the game because my man Brad Stewart can flat-out go get the football.
What a great athletic play jumping up and making that catch boy.
He just Out jumped Abernathy and they were in the corner of the end zone.
Tcsg replay, learn more earn more, and he Uncorked it and loaded it up.
But what a athletic beautiful jumping catch dive into the End Zone?
Brad Stewart, the real deal guys, and we're going to be talking about in the rest of the game.
Averaging, almost 20 yards, a catch on plays, 74 yards, 338 elapsed time the touchdown from powers to his buddy, stored and Benedictine on the board.
Early here in Atlanta that kids from Savannah up by touchdown.
GHSA Championship is made possible in part by Regions Bank.
It's time to expect more George's.
Electric Membership Corporation lighting away, technical college system of Georgia.
Learn more earn, more Cigna together all the way and viewers like you.
Thank you.
The GHSA would like to thank the Georgia Farm Bureau.
But I think ten draws First, Blood 7-nothing.
The touchdown from Powers, distort 822 in the first quarter and you see the drive right there, nine plays 74 yards and you see the elapsed time be tickets through quarterback Powers, big Lefty throws and just get his guy chance to catch the ball and Stewart does just that, I mean, you talk about an athletic play by receiver.
Unbelievable.
Going up and catch that thing over Abernathy and puts pen.
Picking up on the board.
70, early in this football game Powers.
34, 44, 56 yards.
On that play.
I think you get the idea what they're going to do.
Early.
Gill take some shots down the football field because that's a third time.
They did it.
Once was a pass interference.
Another one is incomplete pass.
And that one right there, touchdown Brad Stewart.
Well, you know, we talked about the conference call this week with with Coach Danny Britt those two powers and stored have a Synergy, you know, as a wide receiver.
Receiver who's played this game and had a lot of success?
How isn't important for the quarterback and the wide receiver, to be honest.
They can't you can't win without it and I made it a point myself to make sure I took the quarterbacks to dinner to got whatever they need and make sure I'm a real good friends with the quarterbacks.
I played with not only in high school and college.
But the NFL as well and you can tell like you said the Synergy between those two guys this phenomenal.
He's give him a chance all over the football field.
Okay, continue to do that throughout the course of the game here.
Rendon DeLoach will kick off for the cadets.
A lot of them came up to Savannah here today.
Well Squidward will go out of Bounds at about the 22 yard line.
Not how you want to start know your defense on the field giving the GAC of Spartans.
In fact, really good offensive that feel positions, right?
It's like over swing a little bit like I did yesterday on the golf course right out about I heard about you.
I heard about your golf swing you take a look at the quarterback for GAC Mills.
And of course, you know an outstanding Talent Just a sophomore.
This kid really, really composed almost like ice in his veins back there for a young kid to be doing.
He's doing so far this year, over 2,000 yards passing in a really heavy run offense.
There's a fumble.
There is a fumble and it was recovered by Benedictine and somebody put it on the carpet out of the wing.
T. The cabin had to get a nappy and he got.
He got drilled.
He got hammered just coughed it up late.
Good hit by Jack molar.
They're one of the leaders on this defense, nor 44 absolutely forfeit, tackles him strips that ball it on the way down.
Benedictine recovers, I'm addicted recovers.
And again, you talked about it earlier position turnovers will kill you.
They absolutely will.
Look at that.
Soul have The football leading 7 -nothing Powers scrambling for his life and Chuck's it out of bounds.
Near the near the 25, yard line Abernathy defending on the play Antonia guilt and they went deep again.
They're looking deep again there to Brett Stewart, on a little corner route, roll out to the left and good job by JC's defense, sir.
It'll bring up second and ten.
The ball at the Spartan 41.
You see the man in motion and they give and spinning and he puts you on carpet and it's recovered by GAC.
I'll tell you when to turn on, right?
Janet Jackson.
We're back to Eden in the first thing that made that very first Contact was was called Carruthers.
A linebacker spot.
Watch him come up here number 36 boom.
With a big hit flies flies around.
There's a loose football right there.
Yes.
All right.
We're even now Gil back to even well, the ball is take care of that pillow Man loose and it's out.
Great job by Abernathy who just fumbled to jump on that fumble and get a recovery there.
So he totally redeemed himself.
So GAC will take over, and Davis Mills brings out his troops drilling.
7-nothing.
756 in the first quarter here in the Georgia, Dome, in Atlanta.
Mills Straight Ahead Abernathy space off-tackle up to the 45 and pushed Out of Bounds at about the 47 yard line.
It said ga-ga-ga see Team guilt and runs the ball about 65% of the time.
And Abernathy does a little dance in here in the hole.
Makes a couple guys miss and gets his usual 10 yards per carry.
The gain of 12 that add will be a first down.
You see him bounce to the outside.
He's shifting, explosive does a great job finding that first down marker First and Ten at the 44.
There was a play fake under duress and is sacked for a loss.
A lot of pressure here, open up from the inside.
You see him, make molar Miss, but that's not enough because my man DJ Owens comes in from the back side and makes that sack put GAC behind the sticks second and 15.
Second and 15 is be said at the 39.
A huge loss.
That right now, GAC trying to find something going trailing early on 7, nothing.
It's having having sweeping and is hemmed in and gets nothing.
Take a look at the GAC offense brought to you by good friends of Regions Bank.
The offensive line.
You see Coker Cox and Bray and Higgins and then Abernathy Carruthers.
Slaton William Sullivan.
Passing down here Bill, spread it out for GAC.
Previous years after the Wright spread looking forward and cover to Mills, has a receiver up at the, 40-yard line at it is complete.
And that look like it was fan.
I thinking the gain of 19 fantastic route, and what to touch the touch, the Davis Mills puts on this balls.
Beautiful lets his receiver.
Go get it.
That's just what Van does nice little first down conversion on a third and third down situation.
Great job by GAC, moving the chains.
There Zack, Scott on the tackle, the strong safety First, and Ten at the cadet 40.
That's Abernathy in between the tackles and moving around and getting down close to the 30-yard line, about down to the 32.
He was Slither his way through P. Yeah, nice little misdirection there, by the quarterback and His Hands.
It to have an earthy Abernathy under For a nice little gain of about seven yards on first down JC right.
Now, going tempo.
That's Abernathy again following Right Guard.
Good job, Tech that football because molar was sticking a thing number 44.
For Benedictine, gets the gets the first down there on the carry and they continue to move the chains right down the field.
We've called molars name a lot.
You see the replay?
You think Abernathy think speed and kind of elusiveness, but he got a little power and him to you can bring the wood.
I have enough.
He's got 5427 on the day, Full House back for you the fake and that's little still with it.
This is the football and it's picked up.
And no flags of the play and somebody is going to take it to the house 74-yard.
That's Joe Hogan again, is a great job.
62 Buck, 80 plays a wide receiver and defensive back when they this football team and that's just Davis Mills trying to do too much with the football and is Handy an opportunity to cut up a couple times.
You're going just never did it and he's a quarterback.
You do not want to take these shots.
The ball is out there and then you see the scoop and then Holguin Gone to the house.
74 yards with a convoy with him.
Benedictine taking advantage of these turnovers up 14, nothing after the p80 is made here in just a moment, the low Sean for the extra point.
They fumble it, through sin and it is just a daunting guilt.
Up here, 80, so the p80 is fail.
Take a look at the touchdown here and take us through Brian.
Just have a quarterback trying to do a little bit too much an opportunity to tuck his tuck the ball and get upfield right about here.
Chose not to do it and takes a lick from DJ Owens.
Again, who's been all over the football field already has a sack and now a forced fumble on the day.
Holguin takes it back for a touchdown.
Grace Olson, I have the answer to something.
You guys may have been wondering about a lot of times in football will see either the last names or no names on the back of jerseys while BC over here has intelligent physical and discipline on the back of their jerseys.
They told me this was something they started last year as another way of emphasizing the values.
They try to stick to it to school.
That's very, very much wants to stay with their morals and stay with their value.
So they put them on the back of there.
He's so they do not forget it, man.
Plan out right here, guys.
Most definitely Grace.
Thank you.
You get a look at coach bread.
And right now he got to be feeling good.
He did.
He definitely does up 13 -nothing early.
Talk to him this week, to military school up there and Benedictine disciplines structure and Leadership is what they're all about their.
And so far, you're seeing that today on the football field.
You talked about the aspects of discipline accountability, like he said leadership, and of course, first appearance in the state championship game.
They would like to take Savannah, the whole Community, something very special back down there today.
They carry something with a nice return.
Just outside the 30 yard line.
JC's.
Got to get something going here, Gil.
They are really struggling offensively with two turnovers and be putting our defense in the bad spot.
Get a look at Tim Hardy.
You had a great career at Wheaton.
Came here and started up a program.
I went at County and then moved down to g a c and has done an outstanding job.
One of the up and comers.
Big-time really good.
Head football coach understands these kids and they listen to them and hear their phone.
I'm all the way doing a great job coaching.
This young Squad up The Return by Slayton 19 yards just like that GAC in a 13 -nothing whole that's slightly.
Getting around the left side and is pushed out of bounds?
That's a good Joseph Holguin again.
Alright football field today flying around making plays nice little stretch play Here by GAC the story about all they do is string it out.
You're exactly right Gil.
Benedictine does a good job.
A lot of speed on that deep is not the biggest defense, you'll see but a ton of speed and they will hit you right in the face.
Five minutes.
Left in this first quarter 13.
Nothing.
Benedictine out in front, straight ahead with the football for GAC no-nonsense run, their just get right after it was vulnerable.
Just give Ben a ball comes right down hill and gets close to a first down.
Brings up.
Third, and very short J1 venerable on the carry, like Brian said, of third and one, third and short.
Spartans in, and I Stood up and push back.
I've called any infant son at Benedictine defense so far today and it's been Holguin it.
My man Owens absolutely can all over the field stuff that thing they might Carruthers at the summit pushed him back.
Yeah.
Carruthers goes both ways for GAC.
Spartans Place fullback and linebacker and there they are Owens stuff in that thing.
Brings up a fourth down and GAC is forced to punt the football away.
And Kenworthy will put at his own 26.
He's team score.
A lot of points to have to punt to us when they do, they better get some good ones off.
This field position will be huge, I snap.
And don't worry in and calling for a fair catch at the 18 yard line.
A 39-yard punt was Brett Stewart, take a look at the resume the schedule and that game we Circle Ryan finneran, August 22nd, 24:21.
These guys started the season off and they're going to, they're going to finish the season off as well.
As we get going here, so it'll be fun to see how this thing ends up.
When you say, you know, the run late Brooks County and of course, love it and Rabun County and Thomasville in the postseason.
I was Chris Harris, straight ahead and Benedictine going a little hurry up right now.
Yeah, little Tempo.
See moving a little bit, waiting for the, okay, from the referee and those snap this thing right away, see the man in motion and taking the pitch and trying to spin around, getting over the 30 up to about the 32.
Was John Kennedy John Wesley Kennedy?
Try to just get candy a little pitch there and JC did a good job, stringing it out onto the football.
Keep it contained.
And shut that thing down for very strict short, one yard game.
Alex roll.
All the tackle Straight Ahead.
That's Harris again.
Chris Harris is a big boy, please fullback and linebacker form six-foot-two 30 tough to bring down and Tackle.
He saw Dairy Slayton earlier in the game, had to go low on him because he is a big bruising back for a high school kid to be 62.
230.
He could put some damage on you.
If you let him, it'll bring up a third and six.
Look at.
That's what the spread look.
Man in Motion.
Get out to a good buddy whole Gene will wide receiver screen there to no avail as GAC defense is too fast and tackle, it very well Jake.
We're gonna Jake Rose Among those in the vicinity to make the tackle.
It's going to make people Miss like they did in find a way to the ball and Tackle its lightening on the tackle as well.
The job holding their they needed to stop on defense go because they were reeling a little bit that defense is going to be tired all the time their spin on the football field so far.
Had a king with the punch shortcut was rolled.
It's a nice little where Benedict you couldn't roll all the way down, almost to the 20, to the 25 yard line.
So that's what they'll take it over first and 10 right there, pun of 47 yards.
Go to work.
At the, the students Force came up from Savannah.
I got a chance, I was downtown to the Hawks game last night in the Benedictine team, bus pulls into the Embassy Suites, and they were fired up coming off that thing ready to go for today.
And you've seen it turned out nicely for him for the in the first quarter.
So far up 13 to nothing.
We call him the Benedictine crazies.
They were loud and proud last night.
I can tell you that.
Yes, that is shot over the Spartan mascot.
And then you take a look at the Benedictine cheerleaders, who happen to be Saint Vincent cheerleaders.
In fact coach Brits daughter is a member of those cheerleader cheerleading squad.
Let's say, thanks incomplete pass by males.
The Benedictine being all male employees.
Go all boys school, and of course, the are able to recruit and have the girls and st. Vincent who come over and cheer for them and they came up and like I said, you get a shot of them right there.
Like I said earlier, coach Brooks daughter is one of her lovely cheerleaders.
So also for these kids get a chance to experience something like this second and ten completion by Mills.
I'ma give to Abernathy buries his head and get some of the 30 up to, about the 32 Grace Olson.
Hello.
Hey guys, you know what?
I'm talking about those cheerleaders.
I know well about the history of same and the Steelers, my mom and my grandmother both cheered on that Squad when they were younger.
So, I grew up hearing all about st. Vincent's, cheerleading.
And now it's amazing to see them out here on the field.
Today.
I will expand on the history lesson for his grace.
Well, you need to be an is deeply rooted.
We all know about, hold on.
Let's get to this plan.
We know.
Back to this third and five knows all the roll.
He'll keep it stumbles a little bit and Falls forward to about the 27, yard line, Grace, you can finish.
I do have a funny one for you and my mom's best friend.
Also cheered with her.
They were some losing days in BC's history, back in the day.
And she grabbed one of the guys by the, by the collar one time.
After again.
She said, if you guys lose one more game, I am never cheering for you again.
So it looks like they've picked things up since then.
What do you think?
They certainly have?
What a good story, right side is too funny.
A long history there mother, and grandmother way back.
Wonderful, some women while he struggled on offense, right now, another sack right there giving up, and they got to figure some things out.
And of the first quarter with the score, the cadets of Benedictine 13 Sparky.
Nothing will be right back to the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
After this.

Welcome back to the Georgia, Dome.
The Benedictine Cadets leading, GAC 13 to nothing heading in to the second quarter.
Now, we've been talking about football, all game long.
But now I want you to talk about football.
I want you to let us know what Benedictine defensive and registered 18 sacks at UGA and then was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts find GPB Sports on Twitter.
Find us on Facebook and let us know who that defensive and was and you'll win tickets.
The first to answer will win tickets.
To the College Football Hall of Fame located in Atlanta.
It's quite a place guys.
Need to check it out.
Gail.
No Grace.
We're going to check it out.
You know, the answer.
I'm beef.
In knows the answer.
Sure.
Does.
Somebody out there knows the answer, but in the meantime, take a look at these stats.
What jumps out at you right now?
And being well, the score, obviously, in turnovers are big part of this as well.
Fumble return for a touchdown for Benedictine and they're doing a good job, controlling the football, but they haven't had to do a whole lot because DGA sees given the opportunity to do.
Do that.
And then I think a couple of sacks for Benedictine on the defensive side of the ball has really put GAC behind the sticks.
Like they are now getting ready to punt for the second time.
This today Kenworthy will put from his own 11.
- yeah.
And calling for a fair.
Catch is Stuart, smack, dad, and the 37-yard line at 35-yard punt.
Good job, getting that thing off, Benedictine brought some pressure on it.
And Stewart, back there, sure-handed Stewart, discipline, on the back of his jersey.
It's exactly what he is discipline and catches, everything and has done a fantastic job all season long, but you on the sidelines right now.
You're only GAC sideline.
What are you telling your players?
Just hang in there as bad as we played so far?
This, this hat, this first quarter.
We're only down 13.
Nothing.
We haven't done anything on offense defensively.
We haven't had to do a whole lot.
So just hang in there.
Keep doing what we do, Stuart string it out again.
GAC does good job clone of the football here and there's Carruthers.
Once again, the man is a machine finding the football and making the ball carrier pay for it.
Well, Carrie bring Chance, Jackson.
Fun to watch Paul Brothers, play football on a Navy to continue their and nice to have him, the helping our great nation out two years ago when we were at Reynolds stadium.
And we're doing a story on Kyle scales for others, really stood out.
Good job.
Good pressure there.
I GAC flown to the football defensively.
The defensive backs did a great job.
Keeping their guys covered.
Ours was strung out.
Referee.
Let's listen in the Keith Hammond.
You see a flag in that area is vicinity of holding.
So we'll see what he decides to call here.
Personal foul face mask on the defense.
15-yard penalty.
Repeat second down.
Hi Brian, Claire on the football field and try to make plays.
And you can't do stuff like this to penalize your football team.
That's the second big penalty of the day.
Both for 15 yards, to penalties, 30 yards, on the day, just hurting themselves, good Hustle, but you can't be grabbing the face mask like that.
Look see.
There's the culprit and Kennedy is cook.
See right there and Kennedy just took the ball and get it inside of GAC territory.
I think on his way to Georgia Tech, Georgia Tech lens for pulled another really good football.
Player finds a football.
Good nose for it.
It was Harris, you got nowhere, maybe one if he got That but, you know, Raymond had talked about the list of great players at GAC.
You know, she talked about me, of course, Kristen Robinson and Brandon Sutherland.
Yeah, I got to see some of those kids toys in those games.
Caleb king scales is looking for his buddy, stored in a housing inside the 15 down to about the 14 and that great athletic ability ability.
33 yards.
They just going to keep going to first down.
I don't know why you enforce K gold.
Get behind your defense.
Again.
The 33-yard throwing catch from powers, to Stuart.
We would be saying this all day long.
They're just taking the shots and they might as well because it's working Grace and Coach told us before the game that Stewart, is unbelievably athletic fast powerful and he's got a knack for jumping and hanging in the air.
And then we saw it again.
We're seeing it on display.
And slithering his way was chance, Jackson gets over the 15 about down to about the 13.
JC's, defense needs to try to get a stop here.
At least told him to a field goal that mostly they can't get a turnover as well because this is the floodgates are about to open up.
Gill.
Second and goal at the 12, Man in Motion.
It was Harris little inside hand out the hair, sniffed it out.
The GAC defense did, and absolutely shut that thing down.
Brings up a big third down for Benedictine and even bigger for the GAC defense.
I know one person.
I try to cover here.
Gil number, 11, Brad Stewart, jump all picture.
Somebody's on him.
Josh Pickens on the stuff for the Spartans.
You got a van at the out there right now on Brad Stewart, so we'll see if they try to double-team.
We're just leaving 101.
Same at the top of your story.
You see Powers were like to roll out his left ear.
Spread looking throwing exactly that crate and looking for him, jump ball again.
They had to defend it.
He called it.
Jump on rollout left.
Great job by Jay-Z.
Defense will see what a Benedictine decide to do here with the long field goal at home.
But here it is.
Will Roll left by Powers, gives this guy a chance to catch a football.
Like, he's been doing all year long.
19 touchdowns for that kid, I believe in just 17 touchdowns on the season.
18 after the ones had a really, really good athlete.
Like gracious told us, wonderful, wonderful Talent, that'll bring up a field goal opportunity for for Benedictine.
A 31-yard attempt by the loach.
The snap, the kick.
Is good.
It just snuck through me put points on the board.
It's got to do it again the Red Zone and that's exactly what they did on that.
31-yard field goal.
Good job by the cadets are good Tech crazies, making it happen.
Take a look at the Benedictine resume as we said earlier, the first trip to the final semifinalist.
You see back-to-back Seasons school history and get that's got something going on down.
There you for that.
Yeah, coach Brits done, a fantastic job.
Make him get his team to play the right way.
Play hard and physical football.
They find out a way to win and just kind of becomes infectious skill and you just keep going and that that drive there by coach.
Britain is guys, nine plays 48 yards field goal at the end of it puts been addicted, up 16 to nothing on JC.
And what did Brian finneran, say?
It's important to get points.
You gotta make princess of the opportunity, you know, we talked about the powers kid.
This is the kid that's going to play baseball at Southern Miss impressive, impressive true.
Good athlete.
Yeah, you get a left-handed pitcher anymore, these days and scholarships to be thrown his way.
So he did.
Just that and going to Southern Miss.
They do some pitching.
Wonderful.
We have that itch to get back on the football field.
A little bit.
Say what he got it going on here and start.
I've never the word is.
We've talked about, has been centered.
I mean, these two are on the same page.
Does kickers not on the same page with anybody bill?
That's twice.
My man has absolutely kicked it right out of bounds.
Maybe GAC can capitalize this time on it, but I'm just struggling to get the ball.
Off the tee.
Maybe just swing a little bit too hard.
Same kick twice.
You know, our statistician Kevin Barnes says, he kind of reminds the powers reminds them of Jeff Samardzija.
You know, of course Jeff Samardzija was a hot name during the winter baseball meetings.
Listen, this kid can go on and be like Jeff Samardzija and make that kind of coin or not.
The risk is body like those football players Samia.
How about it, right?
It's right.
1924 until we get to halftime 16.
Nothing.
Benedictine out in front of GAC.
That's Slayton.
Only carry on the end around, getting close to about the 40-yard line and in on the stop for Benedictine.
Was Brad.
Stewart and Brian.
You said earlier, both of these coaches like to play their players.
Both ways got Athlete on the football field.
Keep them out there.
Play receiver play, Corner, play running back, play linebacker.
These teams.
Do that.
The Spartans would Tempo on the Wildcat and the keeper.
Look like it was Abernathy.
Yeah, they didn't really fool.
Anybody there Wildcat which has been successful for them this year.
Grace, we talked to Coach earlier this week about how he is.
He plays pretty much every player two ways.
Actually, every single player plays two ways.
He said, Benedictine was always a to platoon team and that's how they operated.
But when he came in, he let the system play out the way it normally does.
And he decided, hey, we need to put every guy and every position.
So they have a full understanding of what it takes to do it on both sides of the game, guys.
Grace.
Thank you and the Spartans go.
Wildcats, Abernathy Straight Ahead.
He has space.
He's at the 30.
25, he may go touchdown GAC, 58 yards.
That's what everybody can do to you.
All day long became an opportunity.
He just needs a little seam.
He hits it Full Speed Ahead in GMC closes.
The Gap 5:44.
Looks like another Wildcat formation.
It.
Is fake handoff.
Get a couple guys to go right up the pipe and 58 yards.
Later.
GAC is Dancing In The End Zone.
Great job by Abernathy.
Get into the Zone there.
See it from up top.
Yep.
Make one guy.
Miss couple nights blocks by the alignment inside and he's too fast to be trying to arm tackle and too strong Kenworthy on for the extra point.
Three plays 65 yards to drive the elapsed time, a minute 18.
So far, all the I was a big score 40 points to all the extra points to start the game.
And turnovers, big plays, and special teams of all played a big factor in this thing.
And GAC can hit you from anywhere on the football field Abernathy Slayton Davis Mills trying to find guys on the field as well.
And full disclosure.
You are up a GAC, a lot of either, I can remember the days ago, an affair come and get a, get a look at Mr. Abernathy, we're gonna call them.
Of course, is famous family, and brother played at Cincinnati.
Yeah, and it's gonna Mike's going to go to Tennessee.
Say Ryback with Jones and his brother just graduated.
I think today is a ceremony up at Cincinnati.
He has one year of Eligibility left, and he's going to go join his brother, Tennessee and play one more year of football, and there was a relationship with the Abernathy's with Coach Jones when he was at Cincinnati.
That's going to be some kind of bunch up at Tennessee.
You got a Nathalie Alvin Kamara.
Joshua Dobbs Atlanta is going to be represented and Old Rocky Top, but right now we got a ball game, folks 16-7.
We'll be right back.
Twice before Crossing you exercise, you choose the salad occasionally, but when it comes to staying well, physically financially emotionally going, it alone is hard.
So Sigma has your back and your knees 24/7 and sickness and in health, answering your questions giving you some coaching, helping you get well and stay.
Well, that's having a I was with you all the way Cigna.
Back here in the Georgia.
Dome 16:7, the Spartans were able to get the touchdown from Abernathy and once they went to the Wildcat be that were able to get something going and it seem like it's working to Perfection right now.
Yeah, a nice little misdirection Abernathy just catches the Wildcat shotgun snap takes the handoff and takes it right up the gut with the speed like he has and the big play ability.
They arrived back in this football game.
You asked me earlier, what to message.
What coach just do?
What we do and that's what they've been doing all year.
Long, scoring, big, long, touchdown runs.
That's why the kids averaging 10 yards of touch.
Now, it's the defense's turn to step up and get a stop here.
Force Benedict into a punt.
See if they can make something happen to unworthy, will will kick him back to receive for Benedictine.
This transgenic and every takes it at his own 15 falls into one other time.
Okay, own players and there is a fumble and it is recovered by the Spartans.
At least.
That's what they say.
It is.
It's been confirmed Kennedy hit that hole super hard.
Got hit in the face by linebacker.
Number 50, strips the ball at himself and right, you see the wedge form.
Look like he ran into Old man to back of him, didn't it?
And then the ball popped loose?
Sidelines of GAC.
All the Spartans are jumping up and down.
Big big play for the Spartan special teams there and the turnover, uh-huh battles back to even guilt but a game of turnover so far in this first half Mills back in at quarterback.
The single back is Abernathy.
He gets the carry around the left side running.
Downhill spinning in space gets over the 10 down to about the eight nicely block there and good job.
Abernathy finding that thing for 15 yards and a first step.
Stop.
Liam Sullivan on the outside and get a nice little block Carothers sets The Edge as well and a brunette.
He does arrest missed tackles Galore.
The elusive Abernathy, I mean, I think it's the edge that's trouble for your defense.
And the Wildcat again with Abernathy.
The fake give to Slayton and the cadet smelled it out that time.
Jack molar again phenomenal, football player made a huge play for the Benedictine defense, putting GAC behind the sticks a little bit here.
Brings up a second down and 13, second down and goal from the 13 yard line.
Noah Johnson was also in the vicinity to second.
I'm 13, Abernathy 10, counties 111 yards.
That's Mills.
The pocket broke down and he tried to get squirm his way to get one, possibly two, if we got that, you see molar right there.
Number 44, did a good job.
He was unblocked coming off the right side of JC's line and makes a quarterback pay for that's a guy.
If I'm a game plan and he I'm not going to leave him unblocked.
I can promise you that.
Like be said, Jack Miller on the stop at the make it third and 14 a loss of one.
Set a timeout the Benedictine.
But you talked about it.
In fact that we've seen turnovers turnovers early by GAC.
Now, turnovers by Benedictine.
Just get a little sloppy the football.
Sometimes a GAC has battled all year long whether they played solid or played ugly.
They find a way to win football games and the Spartans, right resume 2014 region Champions.
And of course, undefeated coming into this football game here today, trying to cap a perfect season.
34 and six brine last three seasons first trip to the finals.
02.
And as we sit up top undefeated regular season since 01 it is hard, and any level Gil to go undefeated.
I don't care who you are to find the guys that can do it.
They win 14-7.
They went 2421 the first game of the season against his Benedictine team and then continue to grind.
Grind winds up week after week after week, and they just become a better football team.
Both.
These teams have really become better and talking to coach our team before the game.
We want thing.
You notice about Benedictine, as far as As them progression is a season's going on, is throwing the football down the field, and you've seen that the whole first half so far, and of course, coverage of Championship weekend continues, after our game here today.
It'll be st. Pius and Buford John Nelson, Chuck Smith and Sam Crenshaw, Nicole.
And then Larry Stewart, Larry Snowden, Matt Stewart at shoots saying Larry Smith and Matt Stewart for the Colquitt County and Archer game.
In prime time tonight, more pressure on the quarterback and a couple.
Nice guys, flying to the football.
There, Zack Scott leading the charge number 74, Benedictine.
A lot of pressure on the quarterback, they're getting from their defensive line.
Good job.
I've been addicted.
Hold him here to a field goal attempt and where they will come in an attempt to field goal from 32 yards out.
And where they had that field goal.
Last week to beat Fitzgerald, you get them into the championship game and the kick is blocked.
You know, see if he got a hand on it there, but it's a more special team blunders on this football field today.
Coach Britt encouraging is special teams unit.
Got it done then and there was a MIT right in the middle of it.
That's a win for Benedictine really is Thomas.
He just misses the kick or if it gets blocked.
I think you just missed it.
Gil, don't know that that he touched it.
Got no, he cannot be happy about that.
See the reaction of Coach Hardy.
Epson flows of football games happen every time.
These kids step on the field.
It's how you react and respond got to figure out.
Forget about that last play.
Come out here and play a little defense and Benedictine should make him pay on that great.
Stop Benedict.
It'll take over first and 10 at their own 20.
That's Powers loud enough looking for his buddy, Stuart and he hasn't, he spins around at the 30 25 20 in Hot Pursuit brought down inside the 5 to the 4 of GAC.
Beautiful, throw and catch that, 74 yd, H to Stewart, all day long.
Watch this roll out here by power sets his feet and Stewart, does a great job runs a little corner.
Post beautiful throw, and catch makes a guy Miss and does most of the Rest by himself all the way down to the 67 yard line, first and goal at the 6, Benedictine knocking on the door.
Again, up, 16:7, really good job.
There.
I mean you can tell the game plan for Benedictine from the the word go has been throw the ball down.
The field of Brad Stewart and let him do his thing GAC as let him get behind them, two or three times a day already.
And there are paying for dearly and you spotlighted him up at the top of the show, talking about the ability of Story.
I mean, what makes them as a former wide receiver, what makes him so special?
So I'll just catch your hair.
Just his ability to judge a football and they have the Send letters him to go get that thing, not afraid to catch in traffic.
Jump and catch him, catch it with his hands.
All the time to guilt is fundamentally sound.
He loved seeing that, these young cages, got three catches 136 yards on the day.
Let me also give a shout-out to the, I put up, it can coach by the former Ole.
Miss Coach Ken Cooper.
They giving Powers plenty of time.
Plenty of time and he's able to be able to work his way with Stuart and the rest as you say, has been, because I'm alone, coach Britt and their offense has a good job of moving that pocket.
Powers has moved around mainly to his left and Jesus.
He's going to figure that out quicker.
This games going to get out of hand.
After the timeout first and goal at the 6, but addicting trying to add on and we may have encroachment.
Progress.
Now on a defense that look like Brendan Washington's jumped.
Just a little bit, little flustered right now.
JC's whole football team, with the fumbles and the defensive play, and now the offsides penalty first and goal at the three.
Kennedy in motion, it'll be Kennedy.
Down to about 2 to Paul Crothers on the tackle.
There the inside linebackers for GAC, does a good job Stephen them, but that ball was at the one yard line.
Now Jesse's got their hands full John Wesley Kennedy.
Thousand plus yards, rushing over 600 receiving total package 14 touchdowns on the season as well.
Second and goal at the one sneaking it in his powers.
He looks like he got across any is touchdown been addicted.
Stevie power.
Does it himself 261 Lefty 170 pounder finds a way in the end zone.
Take a look at it.
Tcsg.
Learn more earn more, just following the blockers.
All the big boys in front of you.
Get your head and shoulder pads down and find the goal line.
Exactly what he did at all line at the point of attack firing off.
Three plays 80 yards, the bunch of that, the big pass play from powers to store to set up the touchdown, on a snake by Powers.
Now, the great to play design, great route on that post.
Catch my power to set up that touched by Stewart to set up that touchdown by Powers.
Everything seems to be clicking for Benedictine right now and Brian.
Just when the Spartans had to get, we're getting some momentum, some Big Moe.
Here Comes Benedictine.
Right back.
Big plays all game long.
Both.
These teams have the power.
Yeah.
Elites and the speed to get this thing done, and you've seen it so far with Abernathy's, long 58-yard, touchdown run and Brad Stewart all day.
Long, 136 yards, receiving on three catches.
JC's, got to figure out a way to keep him in front of them, know, if that's Corners.
Got a backup play a little bit more cover to recover three Zone, but the really the brunt of this game so far has been Brad.
Stewart.
And both coaches played down and you mark it as the question Mark.
Harmon, of course, has the question Sunday when the coaches were Here for their meeting with the g-h, sa, but you had talked about a to about what do you, what are your able to gather from that August 22nd?
It would appear that Benedictine saw a lot on tape.
They did, they were able to make some adjustments.
This is a game about adjustment.
You know, it better than anybody.
No question.
And they obviously they've gotten better.
Like coaching party said watching their film.
They've gotten better at throwing the football down the field.
They saw something they liked and they've been attacking it all game long, with the powers to Stewart combination DeLoach.
Whoop High end, over end backtracking insulating, will take it at his own 10 is what down at about?
The 16 yard line.
Special teams have been addicted.
Grace.
Hello?
Hello.
Okay, so we've seen a lot obviously from powers and Stuart like you guys were just saying but a lot of it is also coming from that offensive line.
Doing some good protecting that offensive line is coached by Ken Cooper right now, who was As an assistant at Georgia coach, under Vince Dooley, then became an assistant at Ole Miss then became head coach there.
He also played at Georgia, under coach Butz in 1950, in the 1950s and little bit of trivia.
He's the last NCA a-- player to successfully.
Kick a dropkick for a field goal, and Coach, told us he cannot get him off the field.
I mean, he's doing all the work.
They gotta let the other coaches.
Did it work.
Yes.
Would raise.
What did he say?
He's up in the morning doing stuff before.
Everybody still got him.
There you get a look at him.
Coach Tom, huh?
It's all about Coach.
Let us do that.
He's that he's always on the field.
Always taking over like he's 20 years old.
Most definitely you hear a whole lot of stories about mr. Cooper and hotty toddy up at Oxford.
What a story, some guys just can't get off the field.
It's in his blood, JC of the Wildcat.
They're gonna do some razzle -dazzle.
Well, it's launching up and that's wide open and out of spam.
They need a little spark and that might reverse.
Double reverse pass.
Nice job.
Good call by coach Hardy figure that thing out 28 yard pickup.
Yeah, they look Wildcat and Slayton Mills Mills and lined up outside of the receiver position gets ends up getting the ball and throwing it like he's supposed to fam on a receiving in just under through it a little bit because ma'am.
Nobody was around him wide, open.
But on a stop was Brandon DeLoach.
Stutter Step move getting outside, bouncing it on the outside, and was Abernathy down to the 40.
But down to the Benedictine 39.
Nice job by Abernathy.
Making a good cut, making a man, missing the whole and continue to make us miss outside.
Lot of speed.
Lot explosion, true.
Self Cooper was a linebacker in the hole.
There.
We have been cold true selves name.
Oh you just had a lot.
Let's see, baseball teams kickoff, coverage and got beaten the whole there.
So maybe we should, he doesn't want us to call me anymore.
DJ Owens, also in the vicinity as well, versed in 10, a first down for the Spartans.
They Trail in this football game 23, 7410 until halftime Mills.
Plenty of time looking wrong is picked off.
That is Stewart to the 30 35 and slides at the 36.
What a great job by Stuart.
Intercepting that football playing a cover two Zone.
Davis Mills, had his receiver open on the right sideline early, but waited too long to pull the trigger because he was looking to his left initially, didn't like what he saw comes back to his right?
And that's too far to throw from that left hash for a Young quarterback.
Davis Mills.
Nice job by Brad Stewart jumping in.
Chin, again, he does everything.
That dude is unbelievable.
I'm waiting to see himself popcorn here at the Georgia Dome.
You know, moly what an outstanding athlete.
Oh, yeah, and you see, every time he catches the ball, whether he's playing the offense or defense, he high points, the football with his hands and makes a play on it.
You seem kinda spread.
Look, coming to the near side.
Powers years of the Straight Ahead at look like Harris correctly.
That's Jackson since chance, Jackson, nice little Gainer there on first down, brings up the second and short.
That's what you want.
When you're playing football, especially with the lead like BC does right now 6:37 over GAC.
Brandon Washington on the tackle, but addicted in a hurry up and spinning is Jackson again.
Jackson over 1,000 yards on the ear.
511 180 1 pound senior.
15 touchdowns on the season, for Jackson pure back, good receiving skills out of the backfield as well.
What tempo turn in the corner?
Was John Wesley, Kennedy close to Midfield.
Congestion sweeps and sweeps.
A jet sweeps here for Benedictine have not been that successful so far today.
A lot of speed and a guy with number 36 on his chest, Paul Carruthers with another nice tackle, scrape, another line of scrimmage.
We're at the three minute Mark in counting down, coming up at half-time, Mark, Harmon Rayven tirado and our outstanding crew here at the Great.
PP its powers complete till whole Gene.
And that's a first down for a funeral.
Very nice job GAC did a little something different.
They stayed man-to-man with help over the top.
Brad Stewart, their power.
Stevie Powers did a great job, reading it out and hitting the man in the flat, just taking what they gave them and it moves the chains and continues to eat the clock up with 240 left here in the first half.
First and Ten 6:37 if you just join us.
The motion was Jackson Powers fumbles it and it's still loose and who got it.
Casey says they did.
That was crazy Powers.
Just fumbled the football, trying to suck the soul of it, like a hot potato.
He's a lefty and trying to go try to tuck in his right arm and absolutely just drops the football.
What a shame there.
It is.
Rob said, JC flying to the football.
Does a good job jumping on top of it.
That's a big, big turnover for GAC right before halftime.
They can put another touchdown on the board and make it a, what it is.
The one score game almost in the 1:37 14 would be huge for the Spartans.
Milou vich was in the area and I think he was the one credited with the fumble recovery.
First, and Ten.
At the Benedictine 48 famine motion here out of The Wildcatter, the Spartans.
That's Abernathy, tripped up and Falls forward down to about the 46.
Nice job there by Zach's.
Zack Scott 511, 180 pound linebacker.
Yes, the good job tackle and Abernathy who is up real quick, very Shifty and tough to bring down the spread look again in a lock at Full House backfield with Carruthers Slaton and Abernathy Abernathy.
Keep it straight ahead down till about the 40.
GAC.
Thanks again enough time on the clock 144 and taking third down coming up here in a big, third down.
If they want to put points on the board.
Third, and short about two yards away from first down.
I'm in a 36 counting down Casey with all three of their timeouts left.
Emotion out of the Wildcat again, Abernathy stumbles, push back and he'll lose a few.
He will great job by the Benedictine defense.
It up.
Paul.
West was among those their fantastic job by Paul West Big Boy 64 290 since the middle of that defensive line does a good job at it.
True self Cooper also in the vicinity as well.
Turnover, Canaday, Brian finneran, huh?
Hot potato not listening to the points for yeah.
Each team with three turnovers.
Someone special team mostly on offense, but you got to take care of the football.
We want to win football games.
These two teams, little excited so far in the state championship game, not taking care of that football and it will cost you dearly.
Like it has GAC today.
When you get one take him back to the house for a touchdown, that's one.
I really makes a mark.
I forgot to do anything to pick up the ball and run.
Little bit of sloppy game for both teams.
So far as power.
Siddhi Powers is a left -handed quarterback and he tries to talk to Bone his right hand and absolutely loses it.
Shut up GAC Sidelines there that decision to make.
It looks like that decision is to go for it at this point in the football game on a 4th and 3.
What does coach veteran Circle?
If I like it, I like the decision.
You got to try to find, put find a way to put a touchdown on the board or some kind of points.
What are you three to seven Spartans in a hole with a full house backfield and a timeout?
Force has been addicted to take their final timeout.
So now you feel real good about the decision because if they get the ball back, they got no time outs, and they'll probably have just under a minute to try to get down the field.
So good decision by GAC think they got to try to put some pressure on Benedictine.
Sleeve than five playoff appearance, last five playoff, appearances.
With the Benedictine, you run a three straight, 11 12 and 13, the more County and Nemesis and McEachern and close games last couple years.
I'm Cairo and then you see stars Mill right down there as well.
So they drop down and classification and now GAC Calhoun.
How many times did we say Calhoun?
I remember that game coach lamb and Company and then Jefferson.
Mr. Coach T McFerrin Carver Columbus, Cook County and Dublin, you know, when you think about those great coaches and Coach lamb and Coach McFerrin and and, A good friend at Lovejoy.
He's down there.
Coach use a argues want to see him back working again.
Mills plenty of time.
Scrambles look for Carruthers flat, but he couldn't hold on to know what a play by Mills, trying to extend that football play, as a nice job of avoiding.
The pressure ends up coming back to his left and Carruthers.
Can't hang onto the tip pass here.
You see it right here just gets tipped, a little bit right here, right and Carruthers, left and coach on the trip tip drill.
Man, that's tough.
That's focus on that football when it changes Direction like that.
Yes, especially for a big line back or fullback type like Carruthers who sometimes those guys don't necessarily have the best hands in the world.
Gil.
I don't know position.
You play, those linebackers.
Have a tough time.
I was all over the place.
All right, his powers.
Benedictine with the football and he has somebody out there open wide open and it it's complete.
That looks like that's Wesley Kennedy, and that's a touchdown 59 yards, that same jump ball, beautifully design, Powers rolls out to his left a little bit and finds my man down the sideline for a big touchdown that one.
It's going to hurt.
Great job.
I've been addicted down that thing up.
John Wesley, Kennedy.
And we can't talk enough about that offensive line.
Grace talked about what a job that coach Cooper is done coaching those kids up and Powers has all the time in the world.
Kennedy able to get free separation from the defender and he houses it.
He's well covered.
Well, covered by train Nelson, their trade, just missed judges.
The ball DeLoach would be extra point.
In Kennedy makes him pay.
What a great play call and design by coach.
Britain's Benedictine Cadets, phenomenal job making Gscp for going for that, fourth down and just around the 40 yard line.
Ryan finneran.
I'ma let you read that big play today.
One play 59 yards in 10 seconds.
That's all on that.
That thing took a look at him just rear back and throw it up.
Just giving this guy a chance.
Again.
It's a jump ball position to make a play and Benedictine does a better job than a better job all day.
Long making plays on the football GAC.
All year long, the top -ranked team and double-a.
Now on the short end of a 32 :7 score with 103 to go until halftime.
I'm in a State of Shock.
You know what?
This is what happens when you fumble.
The ball gets returned, 60 yards for a touchdown and you get a, you give up 60 plus yard touchdown passes as well.
He makes you pay.
You got to play defense and protect the football GAC.
Is not done that today, but give the whole lot of credit to the kids from Benedictine.
So impressive.
What they're doing.
Yes, TV powers Johanna deal deal.
Stuart, you know, any stage of metrics and analytics Powers is 236 yards, passing 136 to stort.
59 to Kennedy.
GAC is gonna have a lot to talk about at halftime.
You say he's got them, huh yards?
After catch.
It's like the open feel of one man to beat.
He clears him and he almost was able to stay in bounds and takes it to the house.
But he's brought down close to the 20 yard line.
65 yards, return be great job by Slaton.
Here finds a hole, makes a couple guys miss right there.
And then it's all about speed.
That's what he has speed elusiveness.
And what a great job.
Whenever 23 per Benedictine find a way to kick him out of bounds, Brandon DeLoach.
The kicker does a great job because that's a touchdown.
Brian, how important is it for GAC to get something out of this points.
Anyway, just to have some kind of confidence going into bone and a half time would be huge.
Nose has a receiver.
He's clothesline is fam down about at the 7-yard line.
Really nice route by fan.
We call that thing a bench route.
When we ran in here in Atlanta for the Falcons.
He goes up and catch this ball with his hands takes contact.
Makes the catch great job, great throw as well by Davis.
Old, maid on whole genome.
His stop first and goal at the eight.
Forty seconds to go Wheels rolling out season-opening, but it quickly gets closed up.
Look like a bit of a run pass option.
There, decided to keep it himself there.
Take a timeout here to stop the clock and be be your man, Mueller.
Your man, Mueller.
Close that up.
I think we're seeing The Reincarnation of Brian Fenton.
Another.
So it is maybe I if that's the case, I'm I'm flattered because these kids are doing it right fam there, the last one Kennedy and especially especially Brad Stewart.
Who's been phenomenal today, going up and getting high point in the ball.
Does a great job, finding it and making something happen, right?
It's fun to watch those guys do what they're doing and to be, I was going to go talk to coach Smith after the game to see if he needed a receiver in the next 45 years.
Okay, see what happens.
There you get, you got something in you.
That's Brad.
Stewart kid is a guy we gotta meet Brad.
Stewart can flat-out play football.
Really fun watching him do it so far today.
All of us here at GPB when it's extended our holiday, greetings to you and yours and our captain in the queen.
Tell you right on down, everybody, our holiday gift to you and yours a state championships in the great state of Georgia, Abernathy and a wildcat as an opening five, lunch is over for a touchdown.
A 9-yard run with 26 ticks to go, touchdown GC much-needed.
So important for them to get on the board right there before halftime with 20 seconds.
26 seconds left before.
Half-time Abernathy does most of that himself but a great job by GAC.
Kickoff return, big play by Slayton.
Nice run there.
By Abernathy, gives you some confidence going into halftime thinking about, all right, we can do this.
We got big play after big play defense, gotta settle down, and get some stops and where they own for the Street Point.
And it is good.
Three plays 24 yards, 25 seconds, the elapsed time we play another Wildcat again, does a nice job making guys mess and finding the end zone, just sniffing it out, Abernathy's done that.
All year long, a lot of success with them running out of the Wildcat.
Yeah, they see something.
They like, their it really do gives you an extra blocker.
Gil eliminates, a quarterback for making a decision.
Now is the running back lined up at the quarterback position and shotgun, he can hand it off for keeping himself.
Little bit of misdirection, so it's worked well for GAC today.
Ball control today is been big time of possession fairly even actually GAC with more time of possession, but turnovers have really heard them and not being able to put the ball in the end zone.
Kudos to Benedictine defense for hold them out very evenly matched game.
So far, turnovers are the difference.
And then the passing game for Benedictine has been phenomenal.
Been living with Buddha.
Now.
I was Jackson and he got smacked of correct me.
Yes, that was Kennedy and got smacked at about the 25 up to about the 26th.
It's like Jonathan Rose at the big hit here.
I heard upstairs, beautiful form tackle help.
My bed was Pickens.
Pickens.
Joshua, Pickens is a nice job there.
Covering kicks playing defense.
These guys are all over the football field.
We talked about earlier guilt.
I love these teams that go both ways with their athletes.
We should want to play on both sides of the football in high school.
They picked in I'm going to kneel down and let this clock run out.
And then go into the locker room with a 3214 lead, very comfortable lead.
Benedict has got to figure out if they want to keep trying that pass down the field.
Keep going with what works or run the football, little more and try to eat up some of this clock coming out of half and GAC.
He's got a whole bunch of stuff to talk about, Benedictine out in front by the count of 32.
14, a game that started with turnovers and your impressions are really on Brian of this first half.
Love what I'm seeing out of Benedictine in the past.
Game of powers and Stewart all over the football field.
JC just too many mistakes.
Let's go downstairs.
The grace Olson, who's standing by with Coach brick?
All right, here, we are with Coach Brett coach offensively, Stuart.
I mean, made some massive Blaze.
You've talked about his knack for getting up in the air.
Grab that ball.
We saw it from Kennedy as well too and siddhi Powers.
Obviously big game for him, too.
Yeah, it came out.
I'll make some really good plays.
We've let them make some plays, we can't do but but made some really good plays on offense and some good stops on defense.
We just got To got a limit, letting them make the plays and certainly limit the turnovers.
It's been a game of turnovers pretty much.
If you look at the possessions, they're pretty much equivalent the time of possession.
How do you how do you limit that as all obviously always a key but have you limited?
Yeah.
We just got to be smarter.
We can't we can't fumble the ball and we just being loose with it.
I think we're a little too hyped up and we just got to relax and play our football game and Stuart big interception for him as well on both sides.
You play ever, you know, big catches interception.
He plays both ways like all your guys do.
How do you keep him fired up and keep him entertained?
I see is doing a lot out there.
It's inside of him.
There's nothing how to do to cause him to do what he does.
It's just inside of them.
Right?
Well, thank you.
Coach.
Best of luck.
Second half.
Let's send it back to Mark and Raven.
All right, Grace.
Thanks very much a while.
Last minute of that game.

Been like, they're your one.

There was a lot of excitement.
The buzz was terrific in Savannah, the papers covered extremely.

So, we're really delighted at the presentation that BCC is making right now.
All right, it is time to play the game.

So married in the back.
Okay, there it goes.
Okay, here we go.
Here's the question which I have not seen their or probably don't know the answer.
What is the name for the Jewish New year?
Is that a on Kapoor be Passover?
See Rosh, Hashanah or desuka aren't important?
Yom Kippur.
See he wasted, no time.
Yom Kippur.
Nice.
Is it?
What is it?
Which one is it?
Rosh?
Hashanah is New Year.
My mistake, okay.
Well, hey, he got it, right.
He said, see the second time around so no, I know, thanks for playing with the rabbi teaches.
I was gonna have my head.
That's it for another round of are You Smarter?

I'll boil a lot of football.

There we go.
There's the question.
I have And seen it.
I'm flipping it around.
Here we go.
Instead of the traditional ball drop, which US city uses an elevator to count down on New Year's Eve.
Is it a Dallas?
Be Seattle.
See Chicago or D Miami?
I'm gonna go with C Chicago.
It is Seattle.
I'm guessing the Space Needle.
They use the elevator to go up and down.
Yeah.
I had no idea.
Well neither did I.
It makes two of us that we know.
Thanks for playing good to be true.
Thanks for being a good sport.
Thanks for hanging out with us.
Send it back to the set.
All right, Jon Nelson.
Thanks very much time.
Now to check in with the Greater Atlanta Christian marching band brought to you by Regions Bank.
Greater Atlanta, Christian, marching band brought to you, by Regions Bank doing a great job, as always.
And it's been a great weekend of the GHSA high school championship.
Seven teams will win championships this weekend.
Let's run down all the title games for you yesterday.
Three teams wanted starting.
You're single a public schools.
It was Hawkinsville beating Irwin County, 5:45 and a battle of unbeatens, in AAA.
It was Calhoun winning its third state championship beating Washington County, 27 to 28 and Northside Warner Robins wins.
Its third beating Maze 25-18 and the coverage continued today with the single a private game Mount Paran 149.
27 over Eagle's Landing Christian Academy and into a right now.
That's what we're looking at Greater Atlanta Christian school for Teen, Benedictine 30.
And in for a Buford will take on st. Pius and 6A the Archer Tigers taken Colquitt County.
All right, we now welcome in the author of four books.
Two on high school football in the great state of Georgia.
John Nelson, the segment.
We call Jon's Georgia brought to you by Georgia EMC.
All right.
Now, Savannah has been well represented by Benedictine.
They've got a lot of people down here, but you've got another story about another school in the savannah area.
There were two schools that started programs this year in the savannah area one, where the Phoenix of New Hampstead and the other Sharks of Island.
So we went up and caught up with the Demas.
He's and how life is like for season 1, the island sharks.
Enough of the games that don't mean anything.
And now for the practices where you hit each other, in the weekends are for watching everyone else, but the sharks of islands, high in Savannah, the wins and losses means something.
Now, it's official from this season forward, and for the architect of it.
All the word rewarding is a good start.
Well, you know, it's been on, it was a lot of fun, you know, they gave me a hundred thirty-five thousand dollars to build the program and start a program and we got all the equipment.
We got all the facilities.
We got everything straightened out, and came to 60 boys for the first two years and it was a lot of fun and We'll see.
You know what they've learned.
I mean, coach Simpson is put together good coaching staff that trying to refine it retool it and hopefully, it'll be a good product out there for their first of all City football season, but when you ask the Sharks about the time invested, when all the school had were pups out there, starting out for the games to count.
It's the first line to cross of many main.
I've been here since sophomore year and I played, you know, both years and it's just, you know, like a dream come true because I've never had the experience before and, you know, had a chance to operate.
Tunity to play.
So I think it's just a dream come true because you know, a lot of people when the program first started, you know, they were seniors and they don't have the chance.
So nice really great opportunity.
It's been fun because the kids were kind of, you know, coach really wants us to do this coach, really wants to do that, you know, because we kind of knew it was going to be expected to make the move to Varsity.
And they've kind of adopted and came along.
And, you know, it's a developing situation obviously, you know, as we it was, we continue to develop each day and each year as want to grow this program, but they've come a long, you know, and kind of adopted what we wanted and have moved forward.
That and the goals, even if you're the new kid on the Block, the same as everyone else to win games.
I mean, ultimate goal, you know.
Nandini, one of the smartest kids.
They're on campus had to run it valedictorian this year for Islands high and it is my goal Mark to visit New Hampstead next year to see what year, two is going to be for the Phoenix down there in Savannah.
All right, we'll hold you to that Jon's Georgia brought to you, by Georgia EMC Raven.
It's time for some rent.
Check, Grace, Olson.
Who you got down there.
Well, we put us principle on the spot earlier.
Now, I'm gonna put some Spartan parents on the spot.
I've got Mark and Lori middle of each.
The parents of GAC is big -time player Mitchell Miller.
This is where we quiz the parents check up on them and see how much they learned about their kid.
We have time for one question.
So this is what it is.
What is Mitchell's favorite play of his football playing career.
I believe it was his sacks in the Wesleyan game on the last game of the season.
He told me either the two sacks against Wesleyan like he said or snapping the ball on the game-winning field goal to make it here to State both big moments.
So, thank you, great job.
Daddy got it.
Right, let's bring in those t-shirts.

All right, let's send it back up to Gillen Bryan for the second half of the double a championship game, guys.
All right, Mark.
Thank you.
And of course we here right now, 32:14 quickly, your thoughts about the second half.
Yeah, you can let it go.
Like a weight of 11 for 236 yards.
I don't I'm not great at math Gil.
But that's about 30 yards, a catch, and you can't have that happen.
If you're going to try to win a football game and then turnovers have been a big part of it as well.
Alright, the second half will continue, will take a look at the halftime and a whole lot more after these very important messages on the great GPB.

Welcome back to the Georgia Dome heading into the second half, PC, leading, GAC 3214.
I've got coach Hardy here.
Coach talked about, no, turnovers in a game.
Like this.
I mean, it's been a battle of turnovers.
Yeah.
We just got play better in the second half.
Obviously, been too many things.
Got a good team and we need to execute, that's why there's two halves that works out to come out here and get after it a little bit back and forth there in the second quarter.
How big was it for you guys to score at the end of that second quarter?
That's important.
Obviously, the scoreboard what's also important is from a momentum standpoint, so Get out and start well, in the second half and get this thing going.
All right, was looking to get it going.
Let's and back up to you guys in the booth.
Good luck coach.
All right, Grace.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Coach Hardy.
And you heard it coach peek.
How do you feel?
Yeah, you don't feel great because you're down 3214, but you do have a little bit of Solace are scoring the touchdown right before halftime.
All right, let's take a look at some of the highlights of first half highlights of this football game thief and take us through.
Yeah.
They just did a good job.
Benedictine is taking shots down the field and guys making Place specifically Brett Stewart.
We just did.
A phenomenal job.
The whole first half making plays on the football and GAC did not help themselves at all.
Turn the football over like the photo.
You see here by Davis more, Bob Mills and Indulgence going to take it to the house.
That was a 74-yard scoop and score.
And, you know, it kind of set the tone like you talked about with the turnovers and more GAC out of the Wildcat, the ability of Abernathy and it was a home run.
They needed it at that point.
Absolutely, a game of big plays and that's been the case all game long.
That was a sick.
Five-yard catch, a got them down to the one yard line and they score on that and here's another one.
Where a whole glass rod.
Kennedy.
That's what's great.
Patty Kennedy John Wesley Kennedy on the football.
Right.
Another giant play for the Benedictine Cadets.
And this was right before the half.
Talk to your coach.
RT.
Talk about it.
How much they needed that play the game.
Some momentum the halftime stats.
What, jumps out at you, the passing yards?
No question about it for Benedictine 236 yards and one half of play.
It's unbelievable there GAC.
Got to find a way to slow them down in the passing game.
GAC is doing some good things.
Hundred forty-five yards, rushing in the first half.
That's what they do, but they got a fun, take care of the football and score some points.
All right, there.
You have it 3214.
Our score at halftime.
We will be back.
Let's take a look at this tort and his big first half, and of course he had a lot going on and he was outstanding you, you talked about the ability to catch and then run right after yards, after catch and catch these bones.
You don't have to read it right there.
You just fall in the end zone, and hold it up and celebrate.
But there was a great play right here where he rolls out to his left and give them a chance on a little corner out.
Which a great catch guys.
Hang all over them.
Wonderful job catching ball.
This hands all game long.
Three catches, I think on him, 37 yards, just a fantastic job and power.
Stevie power is a quarterback finding his man all game long make guys miss.
This is the big play of got him down to the 45 yard line.
They punch it in with a QB sneak up.
And, and the interception right here by this was stored.
Again, playing both ways, playing the strong safety, free safety position on their route guy.
Just a heck of an athlete and those are the kind of guys you want on the football field playing for you.
Most definitely a great student and also, A great football player even better.
Yeah.
Can you get go to Yale?
I think, in the in the fall, I'll be keeping an eye on that.
Kick is, he's been fun to watch this afternoon.
I'll tell you, we talked about powers and Stuart, get a look at the big top.
And of it's been a big two days so far more to come st. Pius and Buford right after us.
And then of course, the coup de gras, Matt Stewart, and Larry Smith and prawn time Colquitt County and Archer.
And I know No, a lot of people from Ultra will be coming up for that one and Rush Propst go build Georgia.
As we start the second half.
Gobuildgeorgia.com.
GAC can do a lot of stuff, return game.
You saw Slaton right before halftime help set up that touchdown, but the huge kickoff return for, I think, 65 yards, and did a great job with that.
So they can score from all over the football field.
They're very capable of getting back in this football game.
I'd expect nothing less from a coach Hardy coach for both of you.
And we can't say enough about the offensive line for Benedictine giving Powers enough time.
That was a delay of game on a kickoff, which I've never seen him for sweet.
Time, will have the ball at the start of the second half trailing in this football game.
32:14 for Class double a championship in Georgia.
So fun.
I saw the kids celebrating from the game before hours and just Mount parents students, just jumping up and down, so fun to watch those kids.
Celebrate such a big great experience.
Being the Georgia Dome, playing for a State title.
An experience of a lifetime.
First and Ten the ball at their own 29.
Outside slides, his way close to the 40 yard line here at a long way to get nine yards.
Made a lot of guys miss very Shifty.
There's one nice block on the receiver.
No.
No, I cannot tackle that kid.
I promised you.
I'd hurt myself.
Very impressive, and I'll let you can may have gotten him working.
It looks like cramps.
I hope that massage that area.
On both sides.
Heck of a football player, like we said going to Tennessee to play some football there with his older, brother Ralph, David Abernathy Abernathy.
Of course, the Abernathy name big Legacy and the state of Georgia parents should be proud, but kids continues to be electrode, line of connection up to ol Rocky Top.
Venable there.
No game.
Possibly.
If he got maybe a, maybe one that absolutely hammered from the point of contact right here.
Great job by Benedictine.
That's Muller again, making another big play for his defense, hollers.
Been there.
All afternoon long.
Good football players.
You get a confirmation from grace.
In the sidelines.
It happened.
Happy it sustained.
Grants will be back.
But Noble the Tulsa bleep gets over the 40 up to about the 42.
Good job by GA seeking outside.
Their Benedict, came in, with the interior Blitz.
They're lucky to get outside of the edge there and get that first down.
It's part of the first down.
Absolutely.
Right for you.
10:46 to go.
This third quarter start of it here at the Georgia Dome guilt.
I Rebrand finneran glad to have you with us on gpb's live and exclusive coverage of the state championships.
That's Venable.
Venom has a nice than internet.
Nice pack.
Doesn't quite hit the whole like the other two, kids, Slaton and Abernathy, but a good change of pace, little bigger body.
Give them something to do on the inside there.
JC not do anything?
Crazy.
Just run with their normal game plan.
Just got eliminate the turnovers.
Mills over the metal, has it on it is puffed up, but the ground caused the fumble.
It's an excellent ruled incomplete.
Nice little lamb past, and Liam Sullivan just can't quite hold on to it.
Need to squeeze.
This thing takes a big hit from the inside linebacker, but you'd like to see him.
Hold on.
And had a great catch on The Late Drive.
Last week in a 4441 winning Fitzgerald, got hammered.
Held onto.
But not that time, third and seven.
Let's go.
Pass is complete the Slaton for another first down.
That was a nice job by venerable, picking up the blitz.
Like you said be yeah, Big Buddy Guy that can really sit in there and protect the quarterback 15 -yard.
Gain a nice throw and catch by GAC.
Another Blitz.
Another Blitz package there by Benedict.
Who's been bringing a linebacker?
Just about every single play.
We're staying 10 GAC at the Benedictine 41 Mills looking for a receiver it down on the sideline.
It is complete.
That is Slayton down to the 11 please and gold sparked.
Wide receivers are absolutely putting on a show for us today.
And this kid Slayton 35.
It's fantastic job all year.
Long head of some really pretty catches one handed things.
Watch him.
Get a foot down here so much body control.
Great job by Darius Layton, just committed to UGA.
So he'll be a bulldog for the next four or five years and they're going to like some of these things that he's going to do on the toe, tap on.
The sidelines.
Was able to beat Josh Williams first and goal at the 6, getting in between the tackles and try.
And it get one, possibly two was Jalen Venable.
Staying with Venable in the game since I have heard that they had some cramp issues.
We have still not seen like Abernathy.
Surprising.
Because he's going at halftime.
You can get him.
I don't think you might be in high school, but you can't call the Gatorade and water.
You can try to rehydrate.
He's been working hard way to live but Noble Knight Carruthers and the touchdown pass from Carruthers to sleep.
What a play design.
Very great.
Jump fast.
Yeah, Tim.
Tim Tebow.
Yeah, beautiful job by GAC, the whole Drive.
They didn't freak out.
They didn't do anything.
Crazy.
They stay with their offense.
Nice little and Handoff the Carruthers here who just shot puts it into the back of the end zone for Slayton who gets a little pays off in dividends for that.
Big long.
Catch on the sidelines.
Before, you know, it Tracy's right back in this thing Kenworthy on for the extra point.
And it is successful.
On their first possession, in the third quarter, the Spartans driving, the length of the field, and get the touchdown and are within 98 54 in the third.
We'll be right back.
This moment.
Getting here took three years of sleepless nights and postponed vacations.
Your dad said, play it safe.
Your husband kept the faith.
But franchising is, why you partnered with regions.
In the first place.
We share your vision for moving forward.
And at moments like this, that makes all the difference is your business at a turning point regions.
32:21 9 play 71 yards on the scoring drive for GAC took just under three minutes downstairs.
The grace Olson, Grace Jason T, JC team full of poise players, but Carruthers, definitely one of the most poised and mature of the group earlier.
I saw him.
When the defense was down.
They were having some trouble and he was rallying.
The guys Cooks.
He was looking off to the field.
So we're couple of the other players.
He said, guys, look at me.
Look at me.
He said, stay in this, we can do this and now look, we go see him.
Make a great offensive play.
So he's And he's still got his heart in the game.
On that drive.
Darius, Lane gets his first, three catches of the game doesn't have a reception in the first half, which really blew.
My mind has 34, 59, there.
They will go back to him.
The rest of this second half and the thing about slighting in that first game they played, he was very involved.
We can't variable three touchdown catches exactly of all, three scored three touchdowns and kick the field.
Goal, Darius Leighton was involved in all three of their touchdowns.
So I got to believe somebody went back to that iPad and pulled out that old tape.
Game back on August 22nd and say, hey, this is a game of adjustments.
We've seen what they've been able to do.
Let's try a little something, something and it worked 32:21.
Yep, man, taking the football is Kennedy over the 30 up to about the 32 and brought down by a horde of Spartan Defenders.
All right, so far, catch a by GAC, kind of get back in this football game score.
Right before halftime score on their first drive coming out as I have coming out of halftime down by nine points.
With plenty of time left in this football game for a dynamic football team that can score from anywhere on the, on the field.
Grace, you have an update.
Abernathy was taken a few minutes ago into the locker room.
They were icing his thighs, cramps all over and the medical staff said he has actually dealt with that problem.
The entire season, he gets cramps all the time and he was extremely frustrated.
The coach said, they don't know what to do about it.
Well, that's That's Harris.
Straight ahead.
Well to give by Powers Grace.
Thank you.
Pick up of 18.
Don't just come back.
Just come right up the middle.
There's nothing to it.
You block a couple guys and find it.
Find a hole and you get a big guy coming downhill.
There's nothing to it at all.
There is a Spartan down on the field.
They are tending to right now.
Big play for Harris.
Are tough man to bring down.
He gets going downhill.
Roll line gave him a.
Did a good job.
Coming off the left side.
Looks like the guy that they're working on is Berkeley boggling because he took the brunt of that hit.
When try to get low on Harris, she better get low and Harris, guy's a monster and you can still pay for it.
As you can see right there.
It's a stiff price to unfortunate.
Yeah.
Hopefully, he's gonna be okay.
We see the replay, the gate guys in the truck.
You see?
Oh, she on helmet full.
He got the wisdom.
Yeah, look like his left knee had a bit of an issue.
That's hope he's okay.
And that's what those big bags can do for you ma'am.
So tough to tackle and You do get a chance to tackle.
You better be ready.
Gonna Harris alone?
Back the misdirection sweeping Pretty Outside its Kennedy, but a downhill 230 pushed out of bounds it down.
At the GAC, 24, little misdirection be very nice.
That's your typical Wing T type stuff, misdirection for 24 yards.
Make a couple guys.
Miss wrong angle there by the DB and you're out the gate for a big gain of 24 yards.
Another first down for Benedictine.
Abernathy on the stop.
Another first down.
As the cadets continue to chew up clock.
BC with the football.
All the 26 in the give.
Look like it was Jackson chance Jackson on the carry good football player.
Jackson 1,000 yard rusher.
Yep, 15 touchdowns on the season.
Really good players.
Looks like they're gonna get that back to pounding it right.
Haven't seen a whole lot of throws or rollouts and got back into the swing t look, we haven't seen much today.
Pick up the story.
Jackson s**** one, tackler, but couldn't shed.
Another is as help came over to bring him down.
This is a big as the third down.
At the GAC defense is going to have all day third and about six or seven GAC holds here.
I don't think Benedictine will try to kick a long field.
Goal might be a little bit out of out of range.
Bottom of that pot was one of the backer, Jake Rose, third and seven of the 23 of GAC.
They Trail in this football game 3221 Powers lines up.
And had a receiver down at the 10.
And looks like we may have a pi nose.
Plug was down a little early Gil.
It's like an illegal shift on the offense.
Oops, I would imagine GAC will decline.
Bring up fourth down.
Let's see what they do in a commotion on the offense.
That penalty is refused for that.
Benedictine will go forward here.
I think it's out of field goal range, and you're close enough to where field position isn't the killer, right?
If you don't get it.
Brett Stewart, come down to the bottom of the screen lines up.
One on one and see if they attack that matchup right there.
Of slate.
Beverly Jackson, emotion.
The guy with the screen that told you that is right at the marker jail.
That's very close at the pins on the spot.
Great job by both sides.
There GAC Russian to the football and nice play design on another little screen.
So Hoagie we saw that one early in the game.
Same exact play.
Bring that feeling to stop picking.
This was their Washington to.
This is a big spot.
This could change the whole dynamic of the football game.
GAC can stop you.
Again, Abernathy more current more cramps.
They're still working on him again.
What do you think?
I would think if you're having cramps, Maybe?
Using where he's most effective on the offensive side of the ball, but is great, stucked about an error report that this is something they built with all year and played at the Harry, Douglas with the Atlanta Falcons.
He had a tough time.
Nobody fed on the kid, had a tough time.
Keeping enough fluids in him, and had a cramping issue as well.
These kids.
They're so well fit and so sleek and fit.
It's unbelievable.
Then I wrote body fat on them to hold that water down.
And the GAC program is adopted what chip Kelly's Doing with the hydration and and all that.
And you wonder how effective.
Take us through the last plate because here's that's Carruthers.
Point out to play things.
He sees it coming reads A the stream passed out to the left and here comes Abernathy on the hit.
And when you start cramping up, there's nothing you can do to stop it.
There really isn't, and he is really hurting.
There's a measurement.
That's a first down by half a football.
It's a game of inches.
We said it was going to depend on the spot.
He had a favorable spot.
That GAC could have got him down before that spot.
Great job by Holguin fighting for the first down, yardage extra effort.
So very important.
First in town at the 16 right back to the wing T. That's Harris.
Looks like a Rugby scrum.
Bunch of big bodies run into each other.
Chris Harris on the carry for another short game.
Abernathy sits on the bench right below us, sucking on that oxygen mask had to do that a few times in my day.
The point of dome in cold weather outside probably lessons of cramps.
It's a little warmer in here than it would be outside.
So it could have an impact on the Tramp grab - its direction.
Straight ahead and try as way inside the 10 down to about the eighth.
Look like Jackson.
Well, it looks like they just came right down the pipe there.
Cape Jackson to carry right down the middle and did what he could with the ball right down the pipe hole line.
That is a gaping hole.
Offensive line, did a fantastic job.
The impact of can Cooper's been sleeping around the left side.
That's Kennedy.
So they are just Addicted.
We've seen them in the first half, throw for 236 yards.
So far this out.
They've committed to the run and that wing-t when you can be versatile and balance like that.
It makes all the difference in the world.
Personal foul face mask on the defense allows half the distance to the goal.
Repeat first down.
Personal foul stuff.
Yeah, penalties were big too big for GAC in the first half when I say big, I mean, bad not good.
They had four I think for 38 yards to Benedictine 0, but you see first and goal.
At the one, straight ahead and fly on his way.
In, did he get in?
He did not.
Great job of Jason defense.
I was Jackson.
Everybody's helmets on the line of scrimmage.
I thought you had it.
I thought he had and boom.
Nice stop there.
What a close that up, real good.
I really did.
But whatever, I cook see.
I think the one that led the charge got a sneaking in again.
It's like the Mighty God.
I discount touchdown, but addictive, very nice drive by Benedictine all the way down the field, No Nonsense, a lot of the Delaware Wing teams to call it and very effective powers on the snake.
His second snake of this afternoon.
See, the replay.
Tcsg learn more earn more.
There.
It is right over the top and over-the-top twice.
They've done it.
Now.
It's been effective for him.
11 plays 68 yard Drive the elapsed time.
319, Benedictine is going to go for two and motion is.
Kennedy Powers rolls out finds him and he is in for the two-point conversion.
Nice job.
Benedictine empowers.
I saw a role left.
What you love to do being a left-handed quarterback and finds Kennedy in the corner of the end zone.
They're nice job at Kennedy, finding the final step in the goal line, because the replay big.
Yeah, you see role, how you doing?
It all game long, and throwing the football?
And just outflanks the defender and sniffs out that pylon, right?
Just twists and turns, and finds that pylon, like you said, the job.
Powers sneaks that ball breaks a goal playing.
I think that that was a good call by the officials on the on the goal line their powers.
Not a lot of yards today three carries two yards, but variously Abernathy leaving the field right now to be attended to probably in the locker room.
It's a helpless feeling.
Right?
Because there's nothing you can do about it from this point on.
I don't know if there's enough time for him to get an IV.
I don't have to have that capability back there in the locker room like we did when we played With the Falcons, but you just hate to see one of your most dynamic football players, leave with cramps the touchdown by powers and the successful.
Two point conversion makes it a 3821 game.
Now 526 in the third quarter, the cadets have been addicted.
In front.
Get a look at the crowd here, part of Championship, Saturday.
We got this thing started under the big top yesterday and Will going to conclude it tonight Archer and Colquitt County.
Right after Us, Buford and st. Pius.
Well, that's a third time and kicked it out of bounds.
Grace.
Yo, I don't know if you remember this.
But last year, the state championships.
I remember almost every game.
There were multiple players on each side that were cramping up.
I mean it was like left and right.
I haven't seen it that much this year.
But because of that, I asked the medical staff, I said, do you think may be transitioning from the cold, winter weather to the Dome, maybe causes those cramps?
And he said, I don't know, I think just certain players are prone to it.
So he doesn't seem to think that the Dome atmosphere really causes the cramps, but who knows?
We'll see if Abernathy's able to get back.
Great since a good point BMI to have you expand on that a little bit because you had talked about it earlier the difference between you know, outside and then coming into a climate-controlled facility.
Yeah.
It's interesting.
I cramped up.
It depends what's going on with your body and how you're feeling.
Maybe he's been sick the night before or during the week.
You have all week to prepare it for this game and hydrate the right way.
And like the staff said, some guys are just prone to it.
More than others, but you know, in talking to coach Already this week.
He said they've embraced that hydration program.
That's where it says, ensure that Chip Kelly did at the University of Oregon.
Now, doing it with the NFL Philadelphia Eagles and everybody's copying that but yet and still you have the problem.
They're going to pooch kick it and taking it one of the up, men for GAC, Alex row, and the Spartan will take over right at about their 36 yard line.
Yeah, good field position for GAC in.
Game is far from over people.
These this JC team score from anywhere.
They just need to find a way to stop Benedictine who's doing a fantastic job on both sides of the ball so far.
All right Mills is in at quarterback, Venable and for Abernathy and you see a spread look with Slayton and fan at the top of your screen.
Mill straight, drop back.
Look at all for slate, but Defender falls down and Slayton had the ball Stewart, was there to break it up about at the 15-yard line.
That's one Slayton, which he could have back because it was hit him right in the hands.
Really nice throw by Davis Mills and right off his hands, just took his eyes off at safety came over the top and Brad Stewart and the cover to cover to look there.
And it was a really good throw, a really good play call, just couldn't Quite bring it in second and ten quick snap, Venable awful right tackle, pushes his way close to the 40 yard line may have gotten to the 41.
Brings up a big third down for GAC, third, and about six.
They need to move the chains here and find a way to continue this drive, because being down 17 points late in the third quarter.
It's not easy to come back.
True self Cooper on the tackle.
It was shake it up.
So he'll exit and be replaced third and six mils.
Scrambles gets up in the pocket and puts it on the carpet.
Is it grounding or incomplete?
Like an incomplete pass headers here right in front of them, but the problem there is a three-man rush by Benedictine and they they get pressure on the quarterback, which had rarely really happened.
Only three guys going after the quarterback.
And they get pressured should not happen.
Phillip Burke breaks through there and finds a quarterback splits to offensive players and JC looks like they got to punt it away.
I will bring in Kenworthy who will stand, it is own 25 and Stewart.
Stop.
The drop is an initiative dedicated to preventing High School dropouts.
We ask students to do their part by finding out how the problem affects their community and preparing, a 30-second PSA, a public service announcement that tells us about if spsa wins a 25 hundred dollar scholarship.
Stay tuned and find out later today, who are 14 contest winner is and what ideas they have about.
Stop the drop so important to get that diploma GED college degree and whatever it takes, whatever it takes any way to get education.
Can't say enough about how that's been an initiative of ba.
Brianza and Taylor Ryan at GPB.
And for these kids to go to school for free and all these scholarship could great.
There it is, that likability parlayed into and something positive and successful, 38, 221 441.
And the third quarter GAC.
Just had to go for it.
Benedictine turn to call timeout, caught them off guard a little bit.
JC came out to punt the ball on fourth in about 6, and they decided against it at this point in the game down three scores.
I'm undefeated season for the Spartans, but you see, they've given up a lot of points, especially at the close down the stretch here.
We've had a tough time, but it's playoff football.
Right?
And I was at a chance to be at that value game on November 28, right?
And that was closed for a long time.
They pulled away late.
And then last week was an absolute shootout against Fitzgerald when they want 40.
42 41, they won with shutouts, like, you can see it hateful Charter back in September.
What in shootouts as well?
So this team can do it all, not their best performers today.
Little undisciplined, all the penalties and turnovers and full disclosure of Fitzgerald.
That's where my granddaddy was born.
And raised got a lot of family down there with those wild chickens.
You heard her about the wild chickens chickens.
That's right, Rocky Balboa down there.
Chasing their own low.
You can chase them around.
If you hurt him or even do it.
You're going to jail.
They have days off.
That's right.
That's right.
You get a ticket in a fine.
Well, Chickens rolling, Fitzgerald.
Bill Mills tries a little back shoulder throw to fan here on the sidelines.
With fans seem to be a little bit on a different page, didn't stop and try to make that play, JC turns it over on Downs.
Are on fourth down.
Hey, you seen these kind of watching, you know, she wants to go to fan right away.
Try to throw a back shoulder and just leads a little bit too far GAC now, 0 for 2 and fourth down conversions.
But their defense and a bit of a bind here, Benedictine gets the ball in there on the GAC.
40-yard line of the short field.
You're exactly right for you.
And with a 17 point lead in a new quarterback in the game as well.
Since Abernathy's been out.
Looks like Trent Fowler and his the game over 25 pitch spinning his way and going downhill.
Was Jackson.
It's close to about the 36 yard line.
Pick up a three.
Make it second and seven clock continues to count down.
You see it on your screen.
It's exactly right kill.
It class going to keep running Benedictine knows where they got.
They got a big lead and the clock is on their side.
They've stuck with that wing -t. Most of this third quarter.
They spread out to a little bit to the spread here.
The change it up.
Go to spread looking like you said the wing T in.
The I went out of those formations.
They've done that all afternoon long.
Misdirection.
It's Jackson over the 30 down to about the 29.
Josh Pickens on the stop.
Simple play their run play.
Just a couple Lyman from the left palm to the right side.
They follow their blockers.
Couple GAC players at this point is down.
That's right.
Click.
It might be Brandon Washington was tough to tell Brenda Washington.
Of course.
Number 32.
We plays nose tackle.
That's who we think it is down on the field.
But his number right now, obscured also saw Cooksey on the sidelines there.
When they're starting linebacker is one of their key players and leaders is football team holding his wrist on the sidelines down in front of us and it is Want to take a look at the benedictines last Drive being tickets through no -nonsense hand, the ball up, the middle, the big guy hairs going early, watch out and get out of his way.
This head is a load pulling back truck, right?
Yeah, a little misdirection get to the outside edge.
Other big game therefore, Benedictine and get some, get some down close to inside the 5-yard line.
There was a punch it in with the quarterback sneak by Powers.
What'd I say about Harris, a freight train a-coming.
First, and Ten.
At the 30, see the Man in Motion.
I just Kennedy.
Good job on first down there by GAC.
Keeping Jackson inside, The Tackle Box there and Carruthers with another nice stick.
Also, Chris Moss was in the neighborhood and a vicinity to a gain of 1 second and nine 317 and counting down.
BC, with the lead 17 points over the Spartans.
In the corner is Kennedy.
All right, we're back to where we started a few minutes ago.
Yeah, and addicting, with the third down, and about seven, an opportunity to move the chains here and getting better scoring.
But too far out, for a field goal, right in front of her, in you make the call.
He I go for it again.
I think he's going to keep going.
Big third down here.
Let's see what happens.
Then, I'll make that call for you.
You look at coach broke.
How many sideline says that game face on?
Stainless lip from Ohio to wire.
That's Kennedy.
He's hemmed in, they sniffed it out.
It went back to that.
Delaware wing-t look, which they've done pretty successfully.
Today GAC does a nice job flying to the football and shutting that down for a 1 -yard Gainer.
Kennedy with the carry and good job by the GAC defense women of the football that hole closed up real quick.
They are going for Gil.
If that's the right call for Coach Britt.
I would cook see among those all the stops.
So nice that they have the ability to go right back to the spread and be able to throw the football with a good quarterback.
Within seven Powers running up as is man, who else first down and then some stored.
It's not a therapy, just not fair, a beautiful throw and catch perfect timing.
Perfect situation.
Great route by Stuart.
You see him come down, the field here, chops his feet.
Stop on a dime, right?
Back to the football.
All hands, turn up field and get the first down.
Great job.
And good job by delivering the ball by Stevie Powers.
There.
They know where each other.
Is it all kind of sliding forward and stumbling his way down to close to the 10, yard line was Jackson.
Got some stats for me.
But yeah, Benedictine does a good job.
It's not a one-man Wrecking Crew out there.
It's by committee balance running game.
46 yards for Kennedy, 31 for Jackson and 31 for Harris.
Sounds like a law firm, right?
Can you maybe Jackson and Harris and finneran?
I'm your partner.
I'm hiring.
Second and goal at the twelve turning the corner is Kennedy.
You got close to the 10, possibly a gain of one.
Yeah, I'll bring up a third and five.
You can almost see it coming.
Brother.
Sniffed it out.
Little cross back to the left there and nice job of the linebackers.
Flying to the football.
Under a minute to go, you see the clock winding down in the third quarter defense, get a little tired of Secrets, breathing heavy.
There.
They've been on the field.
A long time.
This quarter, Big Town.
Jackson the single back, the man in motion.
They give it to Jackson's that sits outside to the fact, inside of five down to the two.
To and close to the one.
Nice job by Jackson.
Just keep turning the corner and then he had a full head of steam going forward, trying to get to the end zone and absolutely runs over the defensive back boggling who's still down on the field.
Edwin Got Run Over By Harris early on in his football game and being tended to again.
These Benedictine backs, run with bad intentions and physical.
Physical 5 has been The Unlucky recipient of a couple hard hits from the running backs, first Harris and now boggling.
I'm sorry, and now Jackson, That's bogging down on the ground there.
Let's hope he's okay.
Took a tough hit through his body and In Harm's Way Grace.
I talked about number five, right?
After his last injury and it, he hurt his ankle.
He rolled back on it weird during the play, but he told me he had never injured it before, they took off his socks and he was kind of writhing in pain while they did that.
But he told me he was ready to get back in right away.
He just needed a rest, but you know now we see it happen again.
I don't know if it's the same thing but Check it out.
Thank you.
Abernathy's back out.
It's Steph Gracie's.
I don't think that was an ankle on that one.
He just took a hard hit, maybe to the Head Abernathy back on the football.
Field was a good thing for GAC.
Because like I said earlier, in the broadcast here, he can take it to the house for menu on the field and Jase.
He's gonna need all they can get clock continues to wind down and I think that's going to put it into the third quarter and it does, What does score Benedictine 38 and G ac21 beefing.
We have a thing here.
Gpp, we put up a four fingers.
Folks.
We head to the fourth quarter will be back in Atlanta after this.

It's up to you.
Welcome back with us at the Georgia.
Dome has been quite a battle out there on the field.
Benedictine leading, JC 38, 221 heading into the fourth quarter.
We asked you earlier in the game, which Benedictine defensive in registered 18 sacks.
Well at UGA.
And then was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts.
That was our trivia question for you.
And the answer is Josh milord.
He was drafted in 2002 and then had four sacks for the Falcons in 2006 and Jeremy.
Elliott is our trivia winner for the day.
So you get two tickets of College Football Hall of Fame.
Relations, we had a lot of injuries.
So thank you for everybody for participating, guys.
And we an entry up here.
Brian was chomping at the bit.
Maybe we'll get Brian escort.
Our winter to the College Football Hall of Fame.
And what have you?
But you were chomping at the bit you wanted it.
I wanted to answer that question.
I got a chance to play with Josh Mallard Millard, whatever they whatever you killed himself, back to any played out.
That's just for a minute here on the Falcons.
Really hard-working kid, enjoy playing of them for the brief time that he was on our team.
Yeah, for sex and 2006 for the Falcons.
Started afford first and goal, benefiting knocking on the door and it is Jackson.
Is he in?
Just short of the goal line, again.
Not tick.
We're delaying the inevitable here.
Nice job by the linebackers.
Anyway, stuff in the run and making a play D line stepped up as well close.
That hole quickly.
Great job by our truck, led by the commander Steve Graham, always great to work with the wonderful people at GPB in the folks have tournament.
He's in that time.
That's a no doubter.
Their Gil and GAC is in a world of hurt Benedictine putting this thing out of reach that drive was a almost 5 minutes.
Long 1112 plays really Tune up some clock, that makes it 44.
221 pending the extra point or the two-point.
Conversion should be Cadets go for two, but I think they have a lineup right now.
They're going to go for the p80 off the foot of the Loesch.
The snap.
The kick.
It's perfect.
All right, Brian finneran.
We have three angles, courtesy of tcsg.
Learn more earn more.
We got to give love to coach Cooper's offensive line.
Absolutely.
Do a fantastic job.
Firing off the football.
You see Harris, kicking out the Deanne, but look at the guys up front and getting push and leverage in Jackson finding the hole.
You've done it all game long.
Really?
Good job.
Look at that.
Just all you need is a yard or two.
They push those guys back.
Jackson, finds the hole that drive, 12 Play, 60 yards.
Five minutes and seven seconds.
Hey, you see the aforementioned Coach Ken Cooper and that great.
The guy's been around football for life.
It's great to see old school guys who are still relevant?
Nobody job.
You just can sit around and keep doing what you want to do forever and ever and really enjoy it.
Coach Cooper.
I think is done that for years and years and years.
So many people and hotty toddy Nation.
Remember his days at Ole Miss and yet some time of the University of Georgia, as well, but was retired.
There's a tied down there in Savannah and wanted to help the kids because helping them.
Okay, and not of knowledge.
He's giving kids.
You know, right?
I mean stories about him with Coach Paul, Bear Bryant, and Clem.
Brisket, you know, people back in the day, so much history.
Okay, his Noggin.
You love to sit with him for, not only an evening, but a week, just tap into that mind.
Great stick by Zack Scott.
He's been flying all over the football field today.
Trevor, Trevor Fowler felt the wrath of it.
Trent Fowler should have made a cut at some point there because he got hammered, like, Zack Scott.
Boom.
What do they say?
He got new Good job.
I'm glad he has a physical mental or physical as it gets Benedictine.
Kind of feeling the momentum and rolling with it up 4521.
The defense is going to feed off.
That hit Wills, will give it Abernathy's back in the football game tries to cops outside and it's knocked out of bounds.
It's a long way to run to lose a yard.
I haven't asked you.
Go sideways quite a bit and doesn't quite look like he's 100% coming off with those cramps muscle, tees.
Thought.
He was got a late hit.
Listen trash talking over there on the sidelines to just good hard football on the sideline by Benedictine plane to the whistle to the sideline, gain a gain of 1 second and nine at the 18th.
The intended receiver was Slayton over the middle, but that ball was almost picked off.
Brian, how hard is it to beat a team a second time?
It's tough.
It's tough.
I think that's why being in the NFL, you play your division photos twice as Saints in the Panthers and the books.
And it's so hard to sweep the division series just cause you make adjustments.
You change, you know each other so well.
And you try to attack.
So GAC, obviously, one of the first matchup for one week, one of the Season 2421 appendix of the Benedictine getting the better half this time for so split screen of both coaches Mills lines up has a receiver complete.
And it looks like it was fan first down.
Yardage a fan with a nice little out route.
Nothing to it.
Pretty good.
Throw by Mills game of chance to make that play form and move the chains big.
First down, pick up of 12.
They needed something good to happen.
GAC did.
Mills has a receiver and that's Abernathy across Midfield into Benedictine territory.
About at the 46.
What a beautiful day to beautiful ball.
By Davis Mills right?
Over the outstretched hand of the linebacker number 37.
See, right here and a nice job.
I have an athlete finding that hole.
Great pass.
Lot of quarterbacks don't have the touch at this age to make that throw.
Good job by Mills First and Ten at the cadet 48 out of the wildcat.
Slipping and falling and he may have lost a couple was Abernathy until smart Bill spotted, right?
Admin Freedom?
Right at the GHSA logo.
He wishes he handed that ball off coming across to Slayton, but held onto it and just gets right back to the line of scrimmage.
Okay, second and 10 10:14 and Counting the final period, 48, 221 Benedictine flushed out of the pocket as Mills.
Flags on the play.
He has a receivers complete.
At the cadets 29 looks like that was fan.
Yeah holding penalty coming.
This will be coming back.
It will you can see it right there.
That looks like the right tackle had a hold of the jersey and the Umpire is not going to miss that one.
You know, it's always great to talk to the schools and have an opportunity.
You know, we've had a chance this week be to holding, talk to only offense, ten -yard penalty, from Spotify or things like that.
You heard You can see the right tackle in this play will show it to you and then I'll get into what else looking about.
Try to be a smarter football player going to get beat.
You're gonna get beat and he just manhandle the right tackle for GHC and then holds on for dear life.
So we'd like to see him either, find a way to get a better Stan, sir.
The holding Pennell, just kills you and set you behind the sticks.
The play was negated by the penalty.
Make it second and long, second and 23.
Those will try to run out, but he is Quickly tackled, but after he had gotten rid of the football look like a submarine, one of those subway passes.
Yes.
Sneaky little play there by JC.
Looks like he's going to roll out and sticks the ball in the gut of the running back.
That Abernathy had some more room here.
If you just got down downhill, and and kept going, but he just comes up with the yard.
You know, we were talking, I was talking about the school's, it's always great to talk to the schools.
We did this week and of course, had a chance to talk to coach Brittany coach Hardy and What Tim Vic is done over GAC passes complete that slate and first down yardage, it looks like close to it.
Yeah, that's that's that first dick.
You see?
Because the holding penalty said of - take so looks like happen.
Okay, it'll be second in one about We got going to be nine yards to go here.
Gala 12, another penalty flag down, good job by Mills, getting out of the pocket there and find Slaton, but this one's coming back.
Yes, holding on the offense, repeat third down.
Just a lot of penalties turnovers and not the not the best day for GAC on this Saturday in the Georgia Dome.
This kids will keep fighting.
No, that's what they've done all year long.
I've been down, they've been up, but they find a way to try to get back in the game.
Going to be very tough against.
His really good, Benedictine team, whose up 24 points, Citta penalties, disparity, GHC, 74 68.
Benedictine to of 10.
Where is Wolf replace with a third and 39 and he is hemmed-in shovels.
That off to Carruthers?
Maybe got five if he got that that brings up fourth down for GAC.
And benedictines, defense has begin pressure on Davis Mills all game long.
Oh lines, had a tough time.
Handling the defensive front of Benedictine.
Those guys are really working hard, upfront.
Pick up of six.
It'll make it forth and 33.
She just don't have an option here.
Gil can time left on the clock and being down this many points.
We got to go and go for it.
45:20 1828 to go Knowles shoots at longest late and he grabs the football.
Is he in bounds?
The referee says that is a first down, baby.
The rule be is if he's in bands, push him out of bounds.
They still it's still going to place the location of finding this football.
Well, in bounds, right, there, four straight hits his hand.
Actually look like a hit in bounds right before he went out of bounds.
Great catch.
It's lately.
Looking for a man in the end zone and it is picked off.
Off the tip.
By like it was Kennedy often tip by Stuart extort.
Mama bear goes dead, man, again stored tipped it up in the air and Kennedy came down with it stayed in the end zone.
It's a consultation by the referees right now.
But I'm sure this is going to be Benedictine small ball bounces right off the helmet, huh?
Holguin in the right spot at the right candidate, the right spot for downfield.
The offense, that penalty is declined.
First down GC can't seem to catch a break, Big Catch by slate.
They go back down.
The left side to Fan bounces off his helmet.
That's number 38, Drew work weren't and look who's there with them.
Stored?
Yeah, we drew that one up, just like that.
From right off his Dome.
Kennedy right there to make the play.
Sometimes things just bounce your way.
I like that.
They do it.
Just those Auburn ask with all the stuff they had gone last year and they were Miracle season.
But short of it, all BC has control little football and they have a big league.
Tek Dem to need a milk, the clock.
Expect them to feed Harris here, and keep milking that clock.
Eight minutes left and picking up 24 points in the fourth quarter, Benedict.
It's in good shape here with these plates.
Don't just happen, because they happen to have kids.
Got good players on the field and they're around the football.
I mean, you could have had Kennedy just take that playoff, not hustle down the field and be there for that tip pass, but he's rushing in the football, hoping something like that's going to happen.
Back to the wing T. There's a line it up at second and nine.
Good job ajaces defense.
There.
That's Jacob Collins.
Phone numbers Direction because to up that clock Benedictine and ghostwritten understand how important it is to keep ghts offense off the field, protect the football.
Keep chewing up that clock.
Benedictine the cadets out of region, two, double-a at 12 and 2 Season heading in one of those losses, August 22nd against these same GAC Spartans.
Bullying is way ahead.
Wow, third and seven.
Good.
He gets it too.
And that's Jackson.
Good hard, run by Jackson third and seven, you know, they're going to run the football.
We got to kind of try to Bow up and stop him from getting that yard as he is running hard.
Good job by Jackson.
Getting that a good job at offensive line.
We've been talking about all game and you talked about the weapons.
I mean, if it's not Jackson, it's Kenan.
If it's not Kennedy, it's somebody else, you know, I mean, it's just Good balance, right?
If it's stored its powers.
That's what you want me to get a good football team.
When a bunch of guys that play hard together.
The Harris is another guy done a good job.
And Harris is only a sophomore.
It's awful.
Okay, you know how you broke guys?
That big six-foot 236 to 2:30, right?
He's a sophomore, right?
And Coach, Rick told us, you know, the conference call this, what he said, Gilly, you know, they run between the tackles, the guy gets tough yards and when we meet him, he's there and he's He's definitely delivered today.
You watch how this game is kind of morphed into what it is now, but this thing was a shoot out from the get-go 236 yards passing in the first half for Stevie powers, and now they're just running that clock and running the ball.
The clock continues to wind down and when you're have a lead like this, the clock is an ally.
Let's take a look at that offensive line.
You see, can I save the big ugly's and thing uglies?
Why not go Glee's blackston and Creech and Thompson and Voyles and nice.
And all of them have gotten the job done today.
And, of course, the beneficiaries Stewart Jackson, Harris powers and Ken Cooper is dialed up a plan.
It is really elevated to Football team here today.
Coach Britain is outstanding staff and a good job.
It all starts up front.
Yes.
It's no different today for Benedictine.
As they look to punt the ball.
I think on Fourth and four, before 45 left in the fourth quarter, just a reminder coming up immediately following our game here today, and the post game festivities with Mark Harmon and outstanding folks to the GHSA st. Pius and Buford.
Effort.
Jess Simpson, Paul Standard, I love to see those two big bad Chuck Smith.
Oh, big bad, Chuck Smith.
John Nelson on the call are night, Sam, Crenshaw on the sidelines.
Going to be a great outstanding day.
Of course, in prime time tonight, Matt Stewart, and Larry Smith for Archer and Colquitt County.

The offensive line coach for BC a long time.
SEC.
Guy was head coach at Ole Miss.
Well, we had somebody named Lindsay bass, or Lindsay bass his son.
Mike Bass sent us photos of when these guys were in high school.
This is when he and Ice and another teammate.
We're all committed to the University of Georgia, but they were playing in an All -Star game and I have one more photo.
I'm going to show for you here.
If you want to zoom in on this, here's another that's them actually signing the papers.
So a big day for them.
Coach told us, he's an extremely humble guy, and here is a look at his humble beginnings.
Good.
That is great.
That is great, the Wonders and the magic of Technology, you know, Grace, got the iPad out there, a great fan.
Enjoy.
Judge is going to send into the picture of Coach Cooper, back in the day, back in the day.
I had a man down in Tifton signing with UGA.
That is awesome.
Yes, it is.
He knows more, you forgot more football, and I know You know, like I said, you can't have enough of guys, like that's still around relevant.
In this game.
We need them every single day now.
So slant pass, good throw by Mills there to Fan, like fan got it.
The first down yardage Benedictine defense is still flying around, and number 44, is been around the ball all day long.
He does it again.
They're the perfect form tackle, you know, baby and you know, this because you played at the pro level, you know, you can gimmick people to death, but it comes down to old school and Basics and fundamentals.
The metals.
So what this game is all about passes, complete this latent over the 40 down to up to about the 42 344 in County, you know, all the leaves nuances.
It's a simple game and it, huh.
Yeah until you to get out there and we want to make it complicated.
I know just like we want to get into analytics and metrics and all this stuff.
Mills on the roll.
It's complete really nice.
Timing on that.
Throw to Fan.
Good route.
Good throw a little roll out to his left.
Nice job GAC, kind of progressing.
It down, the field slowly, but surely here with 3 33 32 left on the clock.
Mills looking long cuz fan and that pass is picked off.
At the 10-yard line.
Are you kidding me?
That pie?
Huh?
Okay, I can play some football the right spot at the right time and he doesn't miss a catches 200 sections.
Handful of catches 130 plus yards and middle.
Just trying to get himself his receiver, a chance to make a play and not a thrower.
I think he wishes, he had back, you know, the way he plays his position reminds me of a former old, great, Georgia, Bulldog, but I am a Terry.
Hope I meet just right there in center field, bringing it down.
He's been all over the field 3:19 to go Benedictine with a big lead.
You see the trophy.
That's what they're playing for.
We'll be right back to Atlanta after the GHSA Championship is made possible in part.

You see the score in the fourth quarter right now?
Benedictine 4521, you know, they had two losses, the cadets, the one loss, of course, up top August 22nd against the GAC Spartans and Lana lost / value and that is a loss.
That seem to get this team back in sync.
Again.
We lost about a in the middle of the season.
They brought themselves together and Have done things Beyond just what we ask and I'm very proud of them for that and we ask a lot of them.
So they've taken it to another level and it shows in our play, and it's showing right now, the win over, you know, I mean, any time you have an opportunity and we talked about this up, top about playing a team, a second time.
You have an opportunity against GAC, but it's a player who understands the loss to Vidalia.
Talk a little bit about that.
Yeah.
Sometimes it just a little It brings the team together.
You can fight for each other moving forward.
You understand how important each and every game is after that tough loss was 3528.
So they come together and they fighting to keep fighting for each other.
And the result looks to be the state championship, which will be their first.
We said at the top of the show.
Somebody was going to get their first championship.
And it appears.
Now.
What about under 3:00 to go?
It's going to be head down Savannah's way and I'm sure it'll whole lot of people down in Savannah.
But happy for their PC, Cadets.
You see the cadet crazies.
And on a day where military's role in their annual Army.
Navy game in Baltimore, Maryland, the military school from South Georgia on their way to their first state championship.
4521.
These are two coaches to Young coaches and see the agony of defeat on the sidelines there for Greater Atlanta Christian.
Let the fight right?
So hard all year long, just a great job really phenomenal on both sides.
These guys, the coaches in these teams have a bright future moving forward.
I think they face off maybe the first game and next season as well.
Okay, to go back and look at that, but they'll see each other again.
Whether it's here in the dome next year.
The regular season, love me some Tim Hardy and what Tim Vic and his staff have done over Greater Atlanta Christian, one of my dear friends, Glen Jankowski.
What they do with the Outreach programs of wonderful, wonderful.
Place.
Right off I-80, 5, and Jimmy, Jimmy chap, one of the class individuals, of course, Jimmy coach, did Caleb.
King.
And Tim Hardy came over and took over from Jimmy.
Now, Jimmy's on his staff.
He continues to bring one for VAR.
G. AC coach, probably the first coach in the history of the organization's Jim Lofton right in his mid-80s.
Now, it's been a big time.
Long time GAC supporter.
He wishes he could be here today, but he's dealing with some health issues and we wish him.
Well, as does coach Hardy, I can't always afford to give him a shot.
Fair catch by Slaton for the Spartans.
37-yard punt by DeLoach.
Be a lot of celebrating and Savannah tonight.
This kids are gonna have a good time.
Let's rip from I-75 on I-16.
There you go.
Split right around making and then they're going on down.
It's going to be a nice ride.
Turn into Corners having a somebody lost their helmet.
Abernathy picks up.
Big yards goes into BC territory about pushed Out of Bounds at about the 34.
Like I said, just a reminder gain of 13.
Just a reminder coming up immediately after our postgame show and the celebration.
And the Trophy presentation, I'm Mark Harmon and the g h sa folks will have st. Pius and Buford.
Stay still playing hard Abernathy.
Still getting the carries.
I see his true self Cooper on the tackle.
All right.
This is what we're going to see coming up, Buford and st. Pius.
Like I said, I'll pay any type of money to see Jess and Paul go together, just Simpson of course of the roof and walls and st. Pius and then coming up after that Archer.
Which been one of the hottest teams in all of Georgia, high school football.
And when that County taking on a Colquitt County team Rush, Probst always is knocking on a door, The Tick's come down here.
Danny Britt, he can feel it, Danny.
Oh, man.
There's no better feeling in sports in the wind at all.
And that's their goal.
Come to the season.
They've reached that that goal.
And there is a just Jubilation excitement and happiness.
I mean, the fans, the kids and made all the trip all the way up here.
These players that have fought since training, camp opened over Blood, Sweat, and Tears.
Just awesome.
And this was why the wire Brian.
They jumped out to a 13.
Nothing lead and the kids from South Georgia from Savannah.
You see a congratulations?
Going clock, counting down and it's over stamp feet, double a state.
Chip in the great state of Georgia with the Benedictine Cadets.
Let the celebration begin.
Model 45, the 21 fun game to watch.
Got out of hand with the turnover situation and benedicta made him pay early Benedictine a good well disciplined football team fly around.
Hit you in the mouth can run, can throw very balanced and gave James GAC.
Everything.
They wanted a congratulations to both squads for a great season and both coaches.
Let's go down stairs with a long time, Benedictine fan.
And Grace.
It is all yours.
That's right.
This is Charles Russo.
K61 graduate part of the 61 baseball, state championship.
Team played football there.
Your dad graduate graduate in 31.
How big is this for you to watch today?
This is unbelievable.
First off.
I'd like to say hello to my lovely wife Clara.
This is unbelievable.
Benedictine has one of the greatest traditions of all the high schools in Georgia.
We've been playing since 1902 and finally, we won a state championship.
They put A lot into the program and just a beautiful job.
It really came true and Coach told us that with Benedictine.
It's one of those programs where you go to the doctor's office and the doctor has a ring on, you know, his state championship ring, or whatever.
It is from years and years ago, and he said, people don't leave that Spirit.
They have with the school.
Yeah.
It's unbelievable.
The spirit of Benedictine has and, you know, just like I say goes way back way back.
We used to play, Savannah high and beat them all the time, on Thanksgiving Day.
And so now Meeting a great Atlanta Christian.
What do you think?
The party is like down in Savannah tonight and know everybody's watching and and Savannah an Atlanta.
All right.
Well, you Savannah Ian's enjoy this one.
Congratulation.
Thank you very much.
Thank you for joining us aleksandr back upstairs.
Alright, great.
Thank you.
And Hildy be a party Goin Down in Savannah.
Be it's been an outstanding job with you today.
I enjoyed it.
Give us a show me the ropes.
Really good job out here, brought me along nicely, and a fun game to call.
This was a wire-to-wire victory.
They could touch it.
Jumped on him from the get -go, 13-nothing.
Turnover is the key, but then so many people participated in this one here today.
They really did and it's all effort, All Phases of the game Benedictine really controlled.
It special teams.
Big players were a big part of it too.
And the big play maker today in my opinion was Brad, Stewart, who was phenomenal, the receiver for Benedictine bread, stored receiving yards for catches 150 yards.
The one TouchDown for 74 yards, but it was a lot of Jackson.
It was a lot of Hours and store.
It was just unbelievable.
He has that ability.
He empowers able to be on sink on the same page.
Take us through be just a beautiful catch, my favorite of the day for him to go up and get that ball.
