Georgia, it's the GHSA football Except game for the double A classification where the defending state champions and the number one ranked Wolves of Beaufort, put their unblemished 14 and 0 record and title on the line as they get set to meet the twelve and two yellow jackets of Calhoun fans from across the state are here in the Georgia Dome, and we are glad that you could join us as well.
Here in Atlanta, Charles ward in the broadcast Booth alongside Atlanta, Falcon Legend, Jeff Van note Jon Nelson and Phil Proctor.
Join us momentarily, Jeff a very tall order for the Calhoun Yellow Jackets tonight they meet oh Buford wolves team who is undefeated on the season have dominated this classification for the last 10 years.
And on top of that, they are 60 in postseason football games here in the Georgia Dome, Charles, you're right.
It's like a home game for Buford, they just kind of motor on down here and a half hour or so Calhoun coming from up North.
As got to come down here, I like the Rivalry anticipation of North Georgia team playing a team from in the Atlanta area and this ballgame tonight for the Yellowjackets of Calhoun, a couple of players.
Going to have to have big.
Ballgames, let's focus in on the offense first, Michael Johnson.
He is the quarterback of the spread offense very important.
I think to spread the Beaufort team out, it's a big strong inside power team, as far as their defense and you got to get on the edges.
Got to throw the ball.
Well Michael does that he's 23.
Touchdowns only three interceptions.
He's a key tonight.
Also had over 240 yards in the semi-final ball game.
Last weekend defensively for the Yellowjackets.
A lot of push from the linebacking spot.
Well, they play that.
At 353 that's very popular in high school.
Kedron acre is sort of a hybrid or Rover plays linebacker plays a cornerback or place safety.
He'll be all over the field tonight.
You've got to cut Factor him in that run game.
Anchor, what eighty?
Six tackles on the season, very quick and very agile head coach for the Yellowjackets is how lamb?
He's in this 10th year at Calhoun and we caught up with him prior to the Ball Game.
And this is what you could expect for the Yellowjackets tonight.
Well obviously we're going to try to spread the field, we're spread football team and we like our wide receivers we like we got without four wide receivers.
We like to get the ball to 45 really and then I like to spread the field and get our kids in space.
And, you know, we're looking at a 50-50 percentage run past percentage, and we've done pretty good with that this year.
And in defensively, we're a 353 defense.
We're attacking style defense, and we Play a little bit of Zone behind it, a little bit of man coverage, but we like to attack on defense and try to stun a lot on for my linebackers and our outside linebackers, as we focus in on the Wolves of Beaufort.
Now they would like nothing more than a repeat of last year's championship season but in order for that to happen, Jeff they've got to have some good performances for some key players tonight in this championship ball game.
Well, it's a spread offense of tech of Calhoun against a power, running attack of Buford Buford good.
Play behind that big offensive line real key tonight for Buford is Cody gets not real, big 57 about 170 but the average is better than eight yards.
A carry, he's caught the ball for about 14 yards, a catch, he's got a couple interceptions, he's returned.
A couple of punts, a real interesting player, they're going to certainly focus on him tonight.
Gets the player of the week for the Cab County actually the Special Teams player of the year for them.
Now let's talk about defense for the Wolves.
Well you got that big defensive line at Beaufort and that will have to be Block, you gotta block the first level, but when you get to the second level that's Landon Anderson, they're inside linebacker.
It's kind of a traditional 43.
I think they'll shift it around a little bit but Anderson is a guy.
You got a block on that second level.
He's their leading tackler, just some sun, is a head coach for the Wolves to Beaufort.
He's in his fourth campaign, we caught up with him, prior to the Ball Game, and this is what you should expect from the Wolves tonight.
Buford where I multiply offense.
We do a lot of emotions trades and shift we move.
Move our folks around quite a bit.
Before the ball is snapped were led by a big offensive line with three senior starters and also we have a senior quarterback and Michael met the names.
You're probably going to hear called the most.
We have to really talented tailbacks and Cody gets a senior tailback and Storm Johnson.
The junior tailback defensively.
We base out of a 4-3.
We're very multiple and that will move around.
Cover 2 shell but we try to change it up and every now and then we get in a three-man front and a little nickel and dime.
As this championship ball game, unfolds are John Nelson and Phil Proctor will be roaming.
The sidelines here in the Georgia Dome to give you the inside details.
Let's start our coverage with John Nelson belly.
Thank you.
Charles good afternoon to you and Jeff you for talking about Jess Simpson.
He says they simply have to play Buford football today.
That means run the football, stop the run play well on special teams and specifically today.
Defend the perimeter buford's defense will be what you need to watch for.
They've only given up a little over eight points a game.
They haven't seen the spread in six weeks.
Calhoun will Yards and we'll get points.
That's the Buford story.
Let's say that over the Calhoun Sidelines and Phil Proctor.
All right, now we would appreciate it.
As you can see, this Calhoun crowd is fired up.
Now, the last time Calhoun was here was in 2005 in the semis, they be Grady.
Unfortunately, they went home, they lost to Charlton County.
Well, a lot of the seniors on the 12:00 today, we're freshman back then it didn't get a lot of playing time and now they got new roles.
They sort of go back in August.
They wanted to play for a state championship and Charles and Jeff tonight they expect to read.
Rewrite history for Calhoun back upstairs to you guys.
Thank you.
Phil coming up, will the story end with back-to-back titles for Buford?
Or will the yellow jackets call that pot and write their own bestseller?
Stick around the final chapter of the double a championship is coming up next on GPB.
We are back live here in the Georgia Dome, getting set for the double a championship ball game.
Featuring The Wolves of Beaufort and the yellow jackets have Calhoun wolves a Buford with a 14 and 0 record, ranked number one in the State Yellowjackets under rank, but at 12 and to turn things around after a bumpy start in the season.
But really Hushed, well, lost their first contest of the year and their third.
But after that, it's been all wins for the cow, the yellow jackets and Calhoun, making it to this championship ball game tonight.
They got smacked I think by somebody was 32:7 early in the season and we lose two out of three and then you start rolling and undefeated since was a Dalton in that first game at they lost 30 27, but really turn it on since then.
Toss has already been conducted here in the Georgia Dome.
Yellow Jackets will have the football first to get us started in this double a championship game.
Glad you could join us on GPB.
They don't get a break.
Dave will kick it away for the Wolves of Beaufort to get us going.
Youth advisor or six State title.
For 48 days, kicked is a line drive and into the end zone.
Yellow Jackets will start on offense from their own.
20 yard line led by quarterback jr. Michael Johnson, on the season 108.
Completions over 1,800 yards, 19 touchdowns with just three interceptions.
We talk about that touchdown to interception ratio in the pregame show.
And that's a very impressive.
Yellow Jackets, First, and Ten, Carlos a to get to 21, usually it's good for quarterback, his about 721 shotgun and that spread offense for the Yellowjackets on this first.
Possession, Johnson on the comeback ride, catch a movie at the 20-yard.
Line are no incomplete coming back on the curl route.
Path was drop.
Intended for print up and print up not able to pull it in.
I'll who yellow jackets at 12:00 and 2:00 offensively First and Ten after they can second container after the incomplete passes, take a look at the lineup up Frontage Pearson Jackson.
Barry Clemens and grown the center for the Yellowjackets print up Ramsey McGowen, the Rogers and Christian the wide outs and the Piston lining up in the running back spot that will to see the football on the routes out of the backfield.
It's a spread offense so everybody gets it to go down.
Second down, play Rolling, right side, Johnson fires through an interception at the 35.
The car bridges on the pick for the Wolves of Beaufort.
Well, they brought motion back across and then sprinted away from it.
And well, read by buford's defense, they flooded this side of the feel closest to their bench, double coverage out there to car bridges.
Just picked it.
Just jumped that route Bridge is a senior.
His second pick of the year.
First turnover, this championship ball game.
Gives it to the Wolves down at the 21 yard line of the yellow jackets.
Michael met the quarterback.
He will roll right side, tried to dump it, out in the flats pascoe's incomplete.
It was the timber for Giselle Curry coming out of the backfield.
That's the pullback for Buford.
So, nobody Curry, the great linebacker for the Atlanta Falcons and numerous North Carolina named after his grandfather.
Jessel, Curry that I got that in there today.
We got it.
And let's take a look at the lineup for the wolves and leave Millsap, warmington, Houston and Bennett.
The men up front doing the heavy lifting, it's gets and Curry in the back.
You'll read mccroskey and dirt in the linebacking corps for fuel per second down, plane out pitch, right side.
Curry on the parish.
Stop made by Bryce Reed for that yellow jacket defense.
Defensively for the Yellowjackets is Parker and Robertson.
McDaniels up, front, for the cow, Yellowjackets of Calhoun, linebacking Corps, Lindsay, hunt and Harrison, and the second area to real good.
When print up Ramsey, McGowan Ralston and acre not much happening in the air against out.
Yellow, Jackets, defense.
They do a good job defensively in that secondary third down.
Draw play left side with some weird sticking to the end zone.
It's touchdown gets Cody gets on the 21 yard touchdown run for the Wolves.
Well, it's just a little delay.
Draw out of the I great block by Jessel Curry and I sleep like an eye lead.
Almost he puts a block on Harrison the middle linebacker Springs.
It right up the middle.
Nice call.
Nice run for the first day on with the point after soda, wolves.
Take The early lead after the turnover about a yellow jacket offense.
It's gets runs it up the middle of great blocking up front by that offensive line.
And let's go ahead and get this one out of the way Jeff I guess it's Cody really wanted that one Cody gets what do you want?
You're right about that.
It's a you know you isolate the the defense a little bit by splitting them out.
There were nice splits in the o-line by Buford they do a little bit of fold blocking bringing the tackles around.
Inside that's kind of clever.
Most of the high school teams, don't do that.
They executed very well.
The world strike first here, and this championship ball game, 3-play scoring Drive 21 yards in less than a minute, to get it done and gets from it.
Unless your line of scrimmage took it in from 21 for the touchdown.
So many weapons on that warms offense, they are.
Cody gets with the touchdown, the fourth day with the kick.
Again, another deep kick by villefort show.
So yellow jackets set to try it again.
It's a nice kicker that's a weapon and itself.
Being able to put the ball in the end zone.
Make them start on the 20 goes a long way over time.
Second possession for the Yellowjackets.
We all know jackets for the ninth straight season of playoff, clearances 82nd, region, winds, and in region, 7 of the double A classification.
This year spending in the backyard and wrapped up behind the line of scrimmage.
Barry by Dustin Christian land and Anderson coming in from the linebacking spot to make the stop as we take a look at the Buford defense sake.
Us ours, Lee and warmington up front for the Wolves.
I'm back in corkery for Rica and Anderson.
And then the second day against Bridges, right?
Nick Carr and gas away for the wolves.
Second down loss of about a half yard on the play only carried by Christian.
Johnson in this bread looks left.
Trying to go up top got some separation remained on the sidelines.
Catches move teeth or the world's territory that's was made by public Rogers, but why it out for the Yellowjackets?
And that's a big play for the Yellowjackets Calhoun.
Jeff.
It's a huge play.
They've got the Rudnick and cornerback looks like he's in man covers a lot of help from the safety.
Good protection by the cow who line a lot of separation between the quarterback in the Well-thrown ball.
Derek Rogers on the catch 50 yard reception by direct Rogers on the season.
30 graphs over five hundred sixty yards and take a look at that.
Averaged over 18 yards per catch First and Ten now at the 30-yard line of the Worlds.
First and Ten on the ground is Christian left side and nothing happening there.
Got to cut down on the penetration, it's cold doors, the defensive end number 41, a lot of penetration, and that's what we'll certainly disrupt the running play as it has earlier.
So, second down, play coming now for the Yellowjackets, second 911.
In the first quarter of this double a championship ball game.
Just enjoys Johnson in the backfield.
Snappa Johnson go back up.
Top the trying to go today with again, Rogers Justin's going to be at the to ride on that defensive coverage, by Josh rabbinic, Rudnick, almost coming away with an interception.
For the wolves are used just moved.
Derek Rogers over to the other side now and hoping they're going to get man for man.
Well played by by Rudnick, is he six-foot?
177 pounds senior.
Stage, as deep as Rogers kept the ball in perspective, almost a good interception rabbinic leading the wolves and interceptions were five.
Third down and 11 Johnson on the ground.
Nothing there wolves.
Shut it down Gary by Dustin Christian.
The sophomore running back.
Have no space inside.
The trying a little bit of a trap play here.
A power play, pulling the left guard.
Barry number 69 left to right.
Nothing there.
Because you forgive penetrated brought a little bit of a run blitz at time.
So that will make it fourth down, yellow jackets.
Here to be going for.
Land and Curtis inserted in at quarterback.
Now, he'll do the sharp pooch kick for the Yellowjackets, takes a yellow jacket role and goes out of bounds near the 12, yard line.
Insert a courtesan, the lineup lined up as even though he would be playing quarterback and did short kick.
So the Wolves will be over.
We'll start from the 12 quick time out here in the Georgia Dome world's leading it 7.
Nothing over the yellow jackets of Calhoun.
Back live.
At the Georgia Dome, 7-nothing lead for the Wolves of Buford.
Over the yellow jackets of Calhoun.
Yellow jackets with that offensive possession.
Jeff not able to get any up into points but did a good job of holding?
Let's go downstairs quickly to John Nelson Nelly.
Thank you.
Charles little piece of video, little piece of History.
Just to get you warmed up for the games here at the Dome, 1999 will take you back.
These two gentlemen, have worked together before Bando toward Martin, Stadium Valdosta, Georgia, Brunswick and lounge.
And you know, the more things change, guys, the more things stay the same.
Here.
Yeah, it's just got a lot more back there.
I was gonna say something.
Yeah, seems like ages ago.
How do you think?
I had a haircut maybe old four years ago to I changed my looks a lot, but never very satisfied with it.
But I'm just a quick visit in the boot by herb wide of GP, be glad to see her along for this championship ball game First, and Ten for the wolves are at a time out.
Landon Anderson goes in motion and they run it that way quick, dive play audio inside.
Because Corey with the carry, Charles.
That's twice.
Now in the first two series that Buford has had the ball that the middle Garden nose guard McDaniel, Eric McDaniel the senior 62 290, he's been in the backfield.
They've been single blocking him with the center like Bennett, but he's got his hands full and he is a very powerful.
Quick, penetrating type nose guard, and already committed to Purdue.
A variety of his football player, second down and eight 745 remains first quarter in motion goes read.
May gives it on the line hanging left, Saab up near the 18 yard line.
Storm Johnson for the Wolves.
His first Carry of the ball game Johnson, one part of that one to 10.
Mm of offensive backs for the Wolves combined, he and Cody.
Gets over 2,000 yards between the two of them and 42 touchdowns that is something 2000.
Our yard carriers, both of them have done better than eight yards, a carry.
That's an amazing step last week and Johnson in the semi-finals, ran for 131 yards and one touchdown run at 42 yards, third down and four, Dolph abuser.
Maybe a little late hand off of good, folks, of surged Yellow Jackets.
Got down low on that play.
Welp you for that time when heavy, right?
It was just the left tackle, Dallas lie, there and had a little wing back behind him and I think they tried to fool Calhoun kedron acre.
The road where we talked about in pregame, he came up, made the stop on gesell Korean inside fullback handoff.
So rotten Rudnick will get set to punt it away.
It'll be read.
McGowan dangerous Return, Man for the Yellowjackets, getting set their return, kills it on the Fly, speaks out of bounds near the 43, yard line inside a few for territory.
So, McGowan's return, we'll put the football at the 43-yard line.
Now, you see a little bit of that switch in fields that will shorten punt.
Turn out to be a good maneuver do and tolls or Buford unable to get a big punt and now in great field position with a short field is Calhoun, Go to the yellow jackets at the sideline, as the offense gets set to go back to work.
Spread offense of the yellow jackets.
When it's cooking, it is tough to defend.
Johnson fires going to come back around Touch by Rogers Rogers with open field Tackle by Josh about this.
So Derek Rogers, getting some special attention from Joshua threat Nick.
In this first half.
Well, we saw him run the long five 450 yards on the left side, the second time that he and redneck have sort of matched up on the outside of the bubble screen.
Well, block me inside but they just didn't have enough players somebody but they wanted.
Rogers can make redneck Miss.
He didn't Second down and nine and a half.
Sliders at the bottom of your screen Johnson, looks that way.
Now Rose Will Roll across it himself and not much room.
My head sticks out at about a yard.
Maybe a yard and a half pick up at a chance, just a moment ago, Jeff on the screen to see the split screen to see the coaching staff for Buford in the coaching staff of the Yellowjackets with that spread offense of the yellow jackets.
It's forcing the Buford coaches at the sidelines to do something.
That's very interesting and hopefully get tougher.
On Nelson, about that momentarily.
About what Buford it's having to do, as a coaching staff to contend with his quick spread offense.
That'll be less sophisticated pretty, pretty bright, bunch of young men.
Get all those place called into it between every play, third down and eight.
Now for the Yellowjackets, Johnson, taking the drop, trying to set the underneath screen.
We've got it to Christian, Christian Singles to the inside.
That's enough for the Yellow Jacket first down, down at the 25 yard line.
Dustin Christian their leading rusher doesn't catch a lot of passes.
This is a nice job of getting it underneath.
That was a quick pressure that time of from number 4380 suckiest who really forced Thompson to get rid of John.
Says she's going to get rid of that ball of the sooner.
You want it nicely executed by the Yellow Jacket offense, pushed in the sophomore, with the graph first, didn't end five.
13 seconds left first quarter from the 25-yard line, whistles at the line of scrimmage.
First penalty of this chair false start on the offense against Yellow Jackets, as we take a look at the officiating, crew, referee is keep Hammond, David worst, young power lines Jack, dude, Robert Phillips a line judge back judge is Cecil gray.
Travis Muhammad is the field.
Judge Georgia football officials Association.
Those guys remember of that association with here for this double a championship game from the Georgia Dome.
First and 15.
After the assessment, take a look at the liner to line up at the top of your screen.
Three receivers lined up in an I formation.
See if that means anything, but Johnson and that yellow jacket offense.
It looks that way they're going to do the throwback to the last one.
That'll be pushed in with the football.
Got one block and bounced out of bounds after about a 34 yard pickup bubble screen again, Charles this time to the left in front of Calhoun's bench Gaza, way the defense of safety, not a real solid block on him.
He was able to force the action, maybe a little bit sooner, but still a good decent.
Pick up on three or four yards, if it happened to you, when you lose five on first down, Second down and 11.
Johnson best far, 47, 70 yards, and got that, perlier perception.
Leading to that.
Wolves touchdown.
Second down and 11 Low snap at Johnson handles right side.
Got a man streaking toward the end zone.
Touchdown for the touchdown by Derek Ramsay.
Also with a flag coming in after that play Let's go to Stan's going to be may be pass interference or defensive holding.
I couldn't believe the numbers.
That's our Ramsey, 27 yards a catch and now we see why indeed.
You're right.
Nice-looking receiver well-thrown ball pretty close to his average on that graph.
27 on the touchdown, grab Jeff, so wide On Target, that's a healthy average going against that wolf second area Ramsey had, as man be clearly at the line of scrimmage.
But Ramsey, able to continue concentrating and make the touchdown.
Grab for the Yellowjackets.
It's a pretty stingy defense to give it a Class 8.
Again on a defense, only be enforced on the kickoff.
We have a touchdown.
Hello, jackets.
They get their first score of the ball game.
jackets, on to try the point after Wayne Weaver said to kick it.
And he's good at we're tied at seven.
Kicked by Andy Griffith for the Yellowjackets.
Let's take a look at the touchdown.
Pass from Johnson to Derek Ramsay.
Rudnick trying to catch up defensively, grab the jersey of Ramsey Ramsay continuing, the concentration.
Rims.
He's a big tall lad 63 about 190 so they can you can stretch out for the ball.
Does a nice job of running, just a fly pattern, straight down the field.
And we've seen Rudnick put up a couple of good defensive plays early on especially against Rogers this time.
You let him slip behind him.
What a well-thrown ball do.
Never broke stride.
So the yellow jackets bring it to even after a five play, 43 yard scoring drive, just under two minutes to run that distance.
Ramsey closed out the last 27 on the touchdown Option from quarterback.
Michael Johnson.
And that is what the yellow jackets, really wanted to do Jeff coming into this ball game with that spread offense.
They wanted the Wolves defense to play, sideline to sideline and make that wolf defense play vertical as well.
Well, they're doing a good job.
Oh, they've thrown a couple of deep balls.
Big impact plays explosive plays out of their offense.
They haven't run the ball.
Well, it's going to be a tough defense to run on, but obviously they're getting into a rhythm of throwing that ball deep.
And also side-to-side you said the bubble screens even though you can get a lot out of those.
Nevertheless, keep you a deep.
A little bit on.
It's only a three man Rush at last time.
They dropped eight.
Yellow Jackets.
Take advantage of it.
Yellow Jackets.
Winners of the 1952 Class C State title in the state of Georgia.
Head coach.
Randy.
McGehee went 7 1 and 2.
That year course, the class.
B and C distinctions were terminated in 1971 in the state of Georgia.
Shrek, the kick are the field short by the penalty, assessments and griffith.
Kicks it through the end zone, and the Wolves will come out to start this drive from their 20-yard line.
I know.

Double-a championships from the Georgia Dome.
Hope you enjoying watching on GPB gets spinning right side.
Watch his way, up to the 25 yard line up to the 26th and a flag cost in after the run by gets.
Charles it came out double tight to power.
Run all the way little toss inside.
Justin Lindsey one of the linebackers for Calhoun.
Does a nice job of penetrating.
Breaking up that play.
Incidental face mask on the defense results in a first down.
So that is a spot file.
It will come after the run by guess who got it up to the 27.
So, with the assessment that will push him up to the 31 first down for the wolves.
Buford averaging over 300 yards per game, most of that coming on around and 227 yards per contest.
Play Under Center slot at the bottom of your screen, they'll run it the opposite way.
Curry looking for room.
Got it up.
To about the 36 Harrison on the stop for the Yellowjackets.
Three minutes, 38 seconds clock running here in this first quarter tied, at seven of peace.
Second and six, you're beautiful.
On the ground, except up at the line of scrimmage.
Barry by Storm, Johnson Johnson, tripped up, Phil Proctor, standing by outside line.
Fill a charge, I was talking to coach lamb about his defense.
I said, you know, what is it about these guys that really fires you up.
He says, look, they're not that big but not that fast, but what they do is they play contain.
They try to get everybody to the football and right now they're doing a great job of stacking things up.
This defense Charles is a defense that's going to probably cause grief.
A little bit of a problem out of this series here.
I'll be Sorry Charles, thank you.
Phil And their idea is to contain then hit.
It's time to pass goes incomplete at the sidelines.
When the containment by that yellow jacket defense seemingly has worked on this series.
Well, the right film.
Very good defensive series.
You said they got the first run for five.
Tell them on two runs.
I'm scuse me on one run and then they came to try to get gets out in the flat acre.
Man-for-man number 10 for Calhoun, had to throw the ball a little bit High.
Take a look at the comparisons that's far 70.
In terms of you could 91 yards of result for the Yellowjackets winning that battle.
Thus far Macau will have a return block left side.
Fly coming in at the corner of the block as McGowan who runs it up to the 38-yard line.
Let's check out the flyer Block in the back.
Don't give out the numbers and high school like we do on the pros and college with we named those guys the high schooler what great effort, they're giving and you're trying to get in position to do it and turn around, you're walking it back, we return T first down.
So that assessment going against the yellow jackets?
High School football.
Nothing like it.
Not got a lot of it just nothing like a great atmosphere to surrounding it.
Through the thrilled to be able to play in this home of the pros for the State.
Final cars.
This is the first year, we've had all the championship ball games.
Here in the Georgia Dome, previous years has been the semi finals and win championships on the road.
On the end side hand off the first outer on his cut gone, acre for the Yellowjackets acre about two yards shy of the first down marker, Jeff.
Well, we've seen acre.
Do it on the defensive side playing that Rover.
You also averages about five yards, a carry very nice run.
Their first positive run because they have been stopped for a loss.
Has a couple of times they were in a bowl.
Nice job.
And the right side of that Calhoun line anchor, what over 340 yards on the season for the Yellowjackets second and short.
On the ground, it'll be a career once again in the Powell.
Just kind of pushes itself near the 35-yard line and that'll be enough for the Yellow Jacket first down Warrington and on the stop for Buford not until after catch, on acre fights ahead for that yellow jacket first.
Warrington on the season.
35 solo, tackles 56 assist.
Ten tackles for loss and one and a half seconds.
One of the seniors for that defensive front for Buford, but you got to feel like you got attacked the edges, a little bit with the Run.
They had a nice run at 9-yard.
Run a grenade was up the middle off of Right Guard side behind the Right Guard but I don't think you are going to make a steady living at that.
You got to have hit the edges a little bit to believe.
Me the yellow jackets.
They know that you have your first and ten Russell is at the line of scrimmage acre was in motion.
Dead ball foul delay of game on the offense so that will push the Yellowjackets back five and bring some cause for concern, our coach hoel, and couple of making 10, rather than 15.
This is the second penalty.
They've had on first down plays.
They were able to overcome with that touchdown pass.
It's a different thing of the field, all right.
First and 15.
After the assessment the fall at the 30-yard line.
That's Rogers and motion, snap Johnson, for a look that way on to throwback Ralph.
I got a man underneath Touch by McGowan McGowan out of bounds near the 37, perhaps the 38-yard line Johnson moves around real.
Well, Charles very well moving to his left alone across his body.
Nice pick up getting about half of that yardage back after the penalty.
Sly role to us left, they had Rogers cutting to the inside when we got with our and squaring out to the outside for the catch dangerous combination.
When both of those players, Rogers, and Ramsey on the same side of the field, over twenty seven, receptions from a cow and on the year second down and 7 Pro back coming from a gal, I'm going to do a hitch break off the corner, but played well about a Wolves at the sidelines.
Holbrook with the carry for the Yellowjackets and that's an example of them.
Tried to spread the field with the world's before the Wolves play that.
Well, Jeff it did a nice job Jakari Bridges.
The corner held his ground.
He was the wide, man.
He's trying to be blocked by the outside receiver.
I didn't catch that number but he stays there and it's a nice-looking play, except it doesn't work.
What were those reverses work or trick play a little bit like that?
They look fantastic.
And that brings us to the end of the first quarter.
We have played one in his double a championship ball game and we are all tied at seven of people wolves and jackets at Seven Points each quick, timeout and back with the start of the second, We're tied at 7-7 as we get set to start the second quarter.
Wolves on a 21-yard, touchdown, run by Cody, gets got the first score of the ball game.
Yellow Jackets answered right back though.
With a 27-yard touchdown, pass from Michael Johnson, the Derrick Ramsey and that's where we are at 7:00 as we start the second, glad you could join us on GPB Charles Wort, Jeff man out, John, Nelson, and feel Proctor with the story from the double a championship from the Dome.
Third down and six.
For the yellow jackets of Calhoun.
Let's see the side for Johnson as he settles and shotgun with the snap rolls.
Ranges and fires left side.
Pass goes incomplete intended for Ramsey out in the flats the too much air under it by Johnson.
Two tight end formation went to maximum protection, kept the back in just a little square out.
The only had two receivers out Ramsey on the top.
And was that Rogers down here on this error?
JT Palmer down here on this end, so forth, down Yellow, Jackets forced to put it away.
Okay, Coach just some some for the wolves.
On the sideline, gets stands deep ready to receive the punt?
High snap.
But handled took those away but high and short, the bounces at the 40 and take set aside at yellowjacket roll inside of the 30 down near the 26.
So Yellowjackets, grab a break there on special teams with a high Punt and the good roll.
35-yard punt for the Yellowjackets walls with their first possession of the second quarter.
This is their best field position buford's had so far in the first half, they started out on the 21, the 12 in the 20.
So here there at the 26, you thinking, operate authentically what, over 100 yards of offense in that first quarter.
Wolves pitching a quick right side gets looking for thrown back on the inside.
Not much there.
Falls ahead for about two or three.
On the stop for the Yellowjackets.
It's a nice play by Parker.
Also the defensive end, he's in the backfield gets a hand.
Maybe on him right around his ankle.
Causes him to trip up a little bit.
Look at the three on the play, by Cody gets second and seventh abusive.
Play action rolling right side is made not raising spires got a man down field to catch by the tight end dirt and dirt and near the 45 yard line and more than enough for the world's first down.
Nice execution, Charles and Michael met good faking in the backfield and holds up a little bit of the secondary.
They got Jessel curry in the short Zone and come across the field is the tight end, and that's who he's looking for.
Nice job of picking Em Out devil, dirty 18-yard grabbed by Third First, and Ten, now from the 47 yard line.
On the ground, left side Johnson's, got some room inside of yellow jacket territory down on to stop for the Yellowjackets.
But a good aggressive run by Storm Johnson and a nice to see a lot of substitute, a lot of people play it.
I don't remember that much in high school.
You know, everybody sort of you played both offense and defense but we do see a lot of guys get an opportunity to play both offense defense.
Special teams and women guys in and out like that.
Second down and six May rolls.
Now, raises Fires at the sideline catch is made by Jake mccroskey.
Cross Key got beyond the first down marker so that will be a first for the Wolves of Beaufort.
It would appear.
Michael May second time we've seen him roll a little bit break capable quarterback.
67 percent completion on the seat seems very comfortable throwing on the Run.
Well how about that camera shot?
Great guys are right on the field as a pay coming your way.
First and Ten from the 42.
Solid dry by the Wolves us far flag.
Coming in Far Side of the field.
Illegal formation of some kind.
So, my didn't report dead ball foul, encroachment on the offense.
That's replay the Down The Coachman.
I thought that was a defensive penalty and I know, yeah, illegal procedure, stop seed.
I get like all of these that's far as you have as we talked about in, for, for Calhoun and to for the wolves.
so if you ever gets pushed back, five of the encroachment call, But keep it on the ground.
This time Johnson's, another photo right side dances his way inside of the 40 and a flag.
Tungsten at the end of that, run by Storm Johnson will be a face mask.
Probably, well, nice, execution of The Blocking, 22 Jessel, Curry coming in motion across that formation.
Does a nice job of sealing the edge?
Going against the yellow jackets of Calhoun.
Wolves winner of state titles 1978, 2001, 2002 2003.
And 07, as we take a look at Johnson shaking and baking there.
You can't really get really tell of this officials incidental on the defense results in a first down payment.
The very, very end of that run.
As Johnson was spitting.
One of the Defenders is ripped, his hand across his face, mask able to turn in just a bit.
Nice job by the officials, catching a Nevins chapter see first intent, protect the players all the time.
On the ground to give it on the inside plate of curry.
Curry and the pack pushing toward that's running, the world's just showing sheer dominance and strength of the line of scrimmage willing their way to a first down.
Bill inside trap pulling the left guard.
Trevor warmington number 78.
Kessel Curry the third running back in this behind code against and Storm Johnson and he is average veteran.
Six yards, a carry himself, this High School season 8 touches on the can't overstate the size of the Wolves offensive line and they're just blowing their way right now on the ground.
Again, this is get steps over one would-be tackler, angles toward the sideline, got a tough Two, perhaps three on that carry.
Acre on the stopped for Calhoun.
Good job by Ramsey, the quarterback quarterback in the fine receiver, coming up and taking on the lead blocker and giving the rest of his mates, a chance to get in on that stop.
And I replay this really show that you have called comment at that.
Line of scrimmage is for the wheels.
Just the wrestling with the Yellowjackets down to the ground.
As this past goes, incomplete intended out in the flat.
So the Crossgate had to turn his body a bit back to the football, not able to keep the balance and the so, second down and 8 after the incomplete pass, I don't think this situation they want to be in the Beaufort throwing this ball, but that's the situation.
Calhoun wants to force him in into the got to do some things to stop that run and take it away.
And sometimes that means overloading that front.
Well, it's only averaging less than 100 yards per game.
Blocking below the waist the offense.
Repeat second down and this will really hurt him here at.
Yeah.
The illegal block, that will push him back to the 33-yard line.
They crank out three, nice first downs, that overcome one penalty to do.
It picked up a penalty, was a face mask, but now this this really sets them back.
Looking forward to keep the football on the ground.
Gandalf made rolling right side, past days, incomplete.
It was intended for Tyler white, the sophomore coming out of the backfield.
I'll correction coat hours coming out of the backfield.
Pass incomplete.
We've got an injured Yellow Jacket down at the 35 yard line.
Throws a very similar play in the same play, in fact that they had run earlier of the completion to Devin Durden for about 18 yards.
Coach hoel.
Am taking the opportunity to come all the way onto the field.
To look at his player who's injured near?
The 35, will make that number out momentarily.
I like that coach but only gate coach standing on the sidelines, even his college Pro or certainly High School, putting everything, but your guys see how he's doing it, good medical help out there right now.
Earlier this week the Georgia Dome and the Atlanta Falcons football team.
Probably honored the GHSA with the unveiling of a Georgia High School Association, football helmet display, this expansive display includes football helmets from GHSA Affiliated, high school, football teams from around the state and the display is located at Lower Gate.
See here, the Georgia Dome.
So on your next visit make sure you stop by and check out the football helmet exhibit.
Very nicely done here.
Wow.
Pride of Georgia football, during the very nice.
You're right.
Got to take a look at that.
Sunday.
When the Falcons Peak Tampa Bay, you'll be watching the helm.
It's also just a great great Community effort amongst the Atlanta Falcons and the Georgia Dome and the GHSA for doing that.
Well, the NFL has a strong high school program that they do all across the country, every NFL City.
And and it's part of the This part of their deal, my kid is going to go in the Falcon Ring of Honor.
Sunday is on that committee with the, for the nflpa in the NFL in partnership in supporting youth, football and high school football.
Katie Parker was he injured, yellow jacket.
And it helped going to the sideline.
Third down and 23.
Now from Michael met and the wolves made short roll.
Right side raises fires, got a man on a comeback route.
Catch me down near the 50 yard line, nicely done, it was mccroskey on the come back, grab for Buford.
This is what may seem to like to do rolling to his right Zone.
Coverage, flag down on the play, settles down right between print up the cornerback and the inside the short side.
Backer acre nicely executed.
Jeff flag coming in at the end of that play though.
Usually, we think it's gives the defense and I thought would be right face mask against the yellow jackets.
Rolling right side, actually protection.
The defense results of first down right there.
Coming in from behind.
The play was Katherine, acre grabbing the face mask of Jake mccroskey.
I think you see him run a little bit and they pitch it left side to guest, gets looking for some room fights, his way down low inside of the 5-yard line, First and goal play.
Got it down to about the three for the follow.
The full back there.
The old the linebacker.
Usually the starting line back to Jake the burqa, going to get him behind his block and that toss play their ran earlier in the first quarter.
It up in a couple live at a flag coming in at the line of scrimmage.
CERN coach just that small file encroachment on the defense that the distance to the goal.
I have three penalties.
Now, the to face mask and now this place penalty that really helped Buford overcome a penalty of their own and get down into scoring position.
So second and goal to go now about the On the ground gets left side.
Lunges touchdown, beautiful.
The big boys in their land and Anderson the middle linebacker verka the outside linebacker in their lead.
Blocking for Cody gets walks in Cody, gets went Airborne but belies hey I don't need to it's a big hole here stepped right into it and the Wolves reclaim the lead 6:46 gets his second, touchdown of the ball.
Game, wolves 14.0, Jack, Seven, quick time out back after this?
Wolves reclaim the lead 6:46 after the 2-yard run.
By Cody gets his second touchdown here in his first half, this double a championship ball game.
Cody gets to run to come away from this Dome with an experience.
To remember, senior running back, fold it with that touchdown Club return, specialist of the year in Gwinnett County, and just turns in so many multiple yards per game, Jeff by virtue of all the spots he plays on the field.
Well, furry fine running back.
Leading tailback as combination of he and the Storm Johnson, but a good receiver.
Averages, 14 yards, a catch and a good punt.
Returner got a couple of TV's on that we haven't seen him in action tonight, yet taken one back and also play some defense.
So, very nice all around football player, 74-yard scoring bra for the world's 11 plays and just under 4 minutes, 30 seconds to do it, but a freak day with the kick.
Another End Zone kick by little Forte.
And the yellow jackets will start to drive from the 20 had a chance to see coach Hal Lamb on screen a second ago, Jeff and you could just sense from watching him walk, the sidelines that he knows that the miscues are the penalties on that drive.
Really created the situation for the Wolves, will get that touchdown.
Well, you don't want to help a good team, I mean, that's the biggest thing and even though incidental face mask, or are so slight, it seems at times, turned out to be two of those.
Turn it to be big penalties, and then certainly down inside the 5 yard line, you can't make a mistake.
Echoing deep into, give me half the distance to the goal.
So Johnson and the yellow jacket offense back.
Now on the football field trailing by 7, Shotgun Johnson looking upfield, trying to get it down.
Field around you passed on high and out of bounds.
It was caught by g'kar Bridges defensively for the world's, got out able to put the foot down and Bounds.
So it'll go down as an incomplete 12-car.
A bridge is playing deep that way, all that time.
All the way, I don't know if they cut the feeling thirds or not.
Rogers look like he pulled up a little bit looking for may be misreading something that the defense was and Johnson.
Let It Go.
Like it wasn't Interceptor.
So second down and 10.
705 remains in the first half.
Cody gets just what?
In from two yards away for the Wolves to take a 14-7 lead.
The first play from scrimmage by the yellow jackets, incomplete pass.
Clay has stopped momentarily here in the Georgia, Dome tend to g'kar Bridges.
The wolf who had that broke?
The play up for the Buford.
Wolves was injured on the play as well.
Jeff, let's open.
We get the wind knocked out of me.
Went high in the air, to get the interception came down on his back and he's up and couple walking their slot as at the bottom of your screen on a second and ten for the Yellowjackets rolling to his right is Johnson Fires at the sidelines.
Nice toe.
Tap and catch.
The sideline by Rhett McGowan.
Phil Proctor standing by its side line, fill a Charles bad news for the Yellowjackets defensive starter Caden Parker is out with a broken bone in his leg.
So he is done for the night.
Kid came out to field.
Just grimacing in pain, but doctor said is is a broken bone in this leg back to you?
Thank you Phil, as we take a look at Parker at the sidelines, certainly a lot of emotions, going through them, at this point, not only the pain, but realize that they will get the finished his championship contest.
Third and one for the yellow jackets.
From their own 29, they keep it on the ground.
And it'll depend on the mark on this play.
Best in Christian with the carrot, got hit at the initial line of scrimmage fought off of that may have gotten enough of the first Jeff.
Looks like he did.
Sigh relief coming from coach lamb and the rest of the coaching staff at Calhoun.
say, Kazan the stop for Buford, but after the first down, run by Christian, Let's get back to this, passing attack a little bit.
You can see how tough it is to run inside.
That was just going off the right tackle on the short, yardage toy play fake Johnson going up.
Top got a man on the separation.
Text me, the 32-yard line.
Nicely done.
Laying out for it was Derek Ramsay.
To see your light out but they like the long ball.
I mean, this is just a post pattern by Ramsey runs inside a Rudnick the cornerback Gaza.
Way the safety is a little bit late, getting over there any help Well-thrown ball.
Michael Johnson is really exhibited, the, the well-thrown Deep ball tonight so far on three different occasions.
Ramsey, with the 39-yard, grab at the line of scrimmage.
Christian, Vanguard didn't get any on that play.
So Ramsey with the 27-yard touchdown, catch to give the yellow jackets, their only score at this point.
The 39 yarder here is Big pushes, the yellow jackets down to the 30 yard line of Buford Second down Play.
No Gain on the previous by Destin Christian.
Shotgun is a throwback look.
Come back past those incomplete which trying to get it into the hands of Ramsey.
Ramsey had a couple of blockers in front of him, just took his eyes off at momentarily.
They see you designed though, they fled the left side here by putting Rogers in motion.
He's going to be over here with Mike out on the same side, too.
Dangerous receivers and they get the tackle out in front Jackson ball.
A little Hi, maybe a little bit highly.
Throw them at the same time.
I think you're ready.
Took his eye off a little bit to his blockers work.
I'm out taking on the field taken by the yellow jackets and Calhoun facing a third down and 10.
Coach lamb wants to talk about it.
Critical down Port of here.
I'm not sure we'll see the range here.
I got what 34 yards, Adam Griffith, his long of the Year.
Let's just say that they don't convert here.
You're looking at 47 yards.
If you'd be looking, I think at that short punt.
Again, we need few, as like you to help support the live broadcast of these games.
You can show your support by becoming a member of Georgia public television, you can do it simply by calling.
One of the numbers on your screen or you can do it via the web visiting us at gpb.org.
Thank you so much for supporting Georgia, Public Broadcasting.
After the timeout, the yellow jackets back on the field.
They face a third down and 10.
Johnson Shaka movement apple on a scrimmage.
Oh my.
Well, sack is the defensive end, sort of jumped.
And then it brought Rogers offside.
Who's blanked out to the far right side of product, homes bench encroachment on the defense?
It's just a bit quick.
On the movement inside, that'll make it third down and five.
Now, For Calhoun, six sacks on the year.
Seven tackles for loss.
This is a special candy Festival.
62, 220 senior, the book indicator ends again, cold, War's, yeah.
Or 16 to 25 for hires.
Oh, hell, no de sus far Calhoun with 74?
48 yards.
Buford 4440.
Yellow.
Jackets, that a lot of the pick, a lot of their Planet ease up on the previous drive by the wolves.
Well, a lot of pressure, Big Time, game, final game, little nervousness here in there.
John Nelson standing by at field level Nellie here on.
Buford you look on the back of the Buford wolves helmets and you see a sticker that has a JB on it that is in memory of Justin Black, former Buford High student and Buford High football player who passed away in a car crash over Thanksgiving, always close to the minds and hearts of the Buford Community shown here on the helmets today.
Thank you, John.
very tragic accident in the Buford area the team and Community are rallying around that wolves one of the more dominating teams in all of double A Football under state.
Vying for their sixth State title this year.
That a three-man rush here looks like they're dropping eight against this Bunch formation over 2 in front of the Buford bench and the single-wide out Rogers to the right side.
So I throw back out of that formation before the bubble screen, we'll see what they do.
This time, same set this time, he's looking upfield, made Johnson's gonna run it himself inside the 15 and it kept near the 12 yard line, but a good decision by the senior quarterback.
The Scrambled ahead for the first down, pick up.
Landon Anderson in on the star for Buford, but that's a the first down scramble to run for the first down by Michael Johnson.
Everybody dropping deep trying to help coverage at and see if it was man or Zone.
I felt like I was going to be Zone with a three-man rush but a lot of Running Room in there and nice job by Michael Johnson, only averages less than three yards, a carry First and Ten from the 11.
Johnson shotgun dumps It Out Underneath Cristiano ranked at the five yard body, bounced out of bounds.
Why that's contact with the 5 car bridges laid into him.
The Christian able to keep pushing forward.
Got it down near the too difficult Pastor, throw your running back swinging out of the into the flat and you're trying to catch it.
Lead him a little bit, catch it on the run, very nice execution by Michael Johnson and certainly by Christian Dustin Christian.
Here they're leading running back contact.
Just so vicious there.
But the sidelines Jeff heard that helmet crack way up here.
Don't like helmet to helmet second and one.
On the ground Christian, hit at the line of scrimmage.
Good defensive surge coming in under the cowl, which is a Jai Cunningham defense and then and a half sacks on the year.
You can see why I am at defensive end knifed in there, nobody blocking him on the backside, he knifes in there and the cuts Christian the runner Let's stop by Cunningham, the Junior.
Third down and 10 from the 20.
Good position to be in because the first down, or you can get the touchdown lot of pressure on buford's defense right here.
Staggered eye that's time, Johnson will try to keep it.
First effort did not get in made a little push on.
The second effort, didn't make it in, as well.
May have gotten the first down though.
Great effort by Trevor warmington.
Six-foot.
250 pound senior, knifes in their undercuts, Michael Johnson's running.
Wow, great penetration.
This Woody you got to prevent penetration and short yardage and goal in enough penetration there.
Do you have to Johnson?
Did not pick up the first down, they're going to bring on the chains.
Now to measure this initial indication that is that he didn't have it.
Yeah, our guys right on top of it and Johnson, Just by the nose of that football, got that first down.
Yellow Jacket fans, they like it first and goal to go for cow who Under four minutes remains first half, Yellow.
Jack is trying to bring this football game back to evil.
Now in motion will go that side.
Christian nailed at the line of scrimmage.
How's that for a gang tackle Jeff you know just a super defensive effort two times in a row this time.
I think it's dirt in in there also I'm sorry on defense Andrew stockist and AJ Cunningham sack is knifing in or Cunningham.
I'm sorry.
Knifing.
Him from the back side, s on the front side.
So great penetration by both defensive ends, they went heavy right power, right?
And Buford met the challenge for a loss.
Cunningham of the second fine defensive play of this possession.
Second and goal.
Johnson on the comeback route Rogers, hit at the line of scrimmage with the catch.
Just a little Curry on the stop for the Wolves.
Derek Rogers with the grab coming up, limping after the contact, they're trying to run the bubble screen down here.
Not a lot of room and you know they're going to man up a little bit on some of the You don't have a lot of room to defend, so they're going to be all over some short stuff passing lies.
Yellow.
Jackets with a tall receiving Corps.
Don't up at 64 Rogers at 65 with injured on that last play.
If they have to pull it in the end zone.
They go to the corner to take advantage of the height, but the for a things is fires, we'll have a Timeout on the field by the yellow jackets of Calhoun 202 remains first half.
Many of the players participating in these GHSA championships will be playing in the annual Georgia Athletic.
Coaches association is north-south All-Star Game.
This will be your last chance to see some of Georgia's senior football standouts in high school football, competition and this year's event will take place on Monday.
December 29th at Memorial Stadium in Columbus, kickoff for that ball game is at 2 p.m. Charlie.
You got a good call there.
I think get the ball to your tall receivers.
you just mentioned him Ramsay at 63 and certainly Derek Rogers at 63 We'll jump ball action, a tough to throw a fade.
I think in high school such a great timing play but maybe you can get them in the slots or get them inside a little bit.
But mismatch, when we can Shield the defense of that current drive by the yellow jackets, 12 plays.
And right now they face third down and goal to go from the tooth.
Pike slot at the top of the screen, one at the bottom as well.
Now, Rogers in motion to the left Johnson to the right.
Got a man choking out of the back yard touchdown.
They work at the Christian out of the backfield.
A flood at the left side and got him out one-on-one on it.
Easy, pass and catch.
For the touchdown.
Same play, we saw him complete earlier to the left to get him down there, very nicely timed by, Michael Johnson and Dustin.
Christian carry Bridges, a little late getting there, he's playing that quarterback spot, but just got there a little bit too late, the Freshman, Adam Griffith.
Now, on the try to pawn after Griffin, drives are through it.
We are tied once again this time at 14 apiece, I'm in at 58 seconds remains in the first half impressive work by the Jackets to respond to the Wolves touchdown.
Johnson looking to his right.
An easy catch by Christian, the decoy was Roger's lining up on that side and then going into motion and they had three receivers lined up to the left.
And he work at backside scoring Drive of 13 plays 80 yards, five minutes and 14 seconds off, the clock and dust and Christian with the two yard reception from Michael Johnson.
That's about as impressive as they can be there at Jeff.
A lot of things happening.
Good for them on that drive, they get the points and they are taking time off the clock, to keep it away from the Wolves.
Well, you know, they've gained a little bit of momentum.
They hit three big pass plays.
They've been able to overcome some, poor field position and now they're establishing their back out of the backfield as a as a guy, not the running games, not there for him tonight, but they've been able to hit the receivers and who are excellent in Ramsey and Christian and Rogers and McCowan.
And now Christian has become a big factor coming out of the backfield.
So the yellow jackets and Coach, Hal Lamb.
Battle back after the two-yard touchdown catch by that young men destined Christian, we're taught at 14.
Storm Johnson back deep for the Wolves.
Anticipating the kick by Griffith short pooch kick by Griffin.
It'll come down at the 37 to fill that by gets on the Fly and gets, gets it up to the 44 yard line when a minute 55 seconds left first half Coach lamb for the Yellowjackets.
And this is what he thinks is special about coaching this team.
We're staying is different from any team we've had in the past, we got off to a very slow start when we lost two of our first three games, and we just had a heart to heart to heart to heart meeting and are in our seniors, just took over from there.
The chemistry got a whole lot better and I think to get this far, you chemistry's got to be very good and I really like our chemistry on this football team and I'm very pleased with the progress that we've made this year.
Coach lamb got a like that chemistry on the last play.
A 33 yard run by Cody gets and the wolves are down at the 23-yard line of the yellow jackets after the quick burst by gets Movement at the line of scrimmage.
Dead ball, false start on the offense, the first down.
So the Wolves push back.
Now to the 28 yard line First and 15 with a minute, 45 with Cody, gets an 8/10.
Russia's 75 yards and two touchdowns Curry up.
The Buddy goes, Falls ahead near the 25.
Hunt men on the stop for the Yellowjackets little inside.
Trap Right Guard, pulling right to left Colton, Houston couldn't get your hoping.
You get penetration in the guy comes free and you can trap them in.
There's a big gaping gash.
There wasn't there, the time that's left side on second and 13, gets back to the inside.
Still on his feet fights, his way down near the 11-yard line Looks to have enough for that first down for you.
Baker in on the stop for the Yellowjackets but a good run inside by Cody gets 14 yard Scamper by the senior because you've got to feel like this is her favorite play a little, I toss where you can go in or out.
You can either follow full-back, you get the backside guard?
And Tackle ceiling a little bit, not allowing the Calhoun to come on down the line.
There's a big gaping hole in there for the cut back nicely or at and run.
By Cody gets First down and ten football on the 12-yard line.
The yellow jackets.
Every championship game broadcast.
This weekend is also being streamed live on the new GPB football, Fridays in Georgia website, log on at gpb.org football, you'll also find live game blogs with every game archive for viewing.

What ball First, and Ten.
From the 12.
Gets once again fights his way down near the seventh, Carter Harrison the Junior and on to stop for Calhoun.
She little bit of Replay, bringing coal tours in motion, trying to get a seal block this time.
It's gets angling back to the inside.
Fought off one block touchdown.
How tough is Cody gets.
Well, he's working against Ed run.
Anchor number 10 is he's coming up to make a real stick stuff on Cody gets, just keeps his balance keeps his legs churning.
That's and I toss cutting back against the grain a little bit when he's had some success.
The first day is good on the phone after wolves lead at 6:39.
Take a look at this.
Run by gets contact with acres and puts Acres down and goes in for the touchdown for Buford tough little guy.
571 about 179 a big man or the he runs powerful.
whatever Cody wants Cody gets Five play 56 yard scoring drive for Beaufort a minute 10 seconds off, the clock, third rushing, touchdown tonight.
For Cody gets really took that little short pooch, kick off and gave Beaufort a short field.
I thought they would have done something like that, maybe on that penalty where there were kicking off from plus 45, or something.
That we shortened it in the first instead of kicking the Enzo gets over 100.
And just before the half 13, Russia's 101 yards and three touchdowns.
Downs, very impressive night for Cody, gets and the Wolves.
You don't want to let that running game, good gold.
You don't want to let him get confident in it and feeling like it.
They can go to it.
And we've got to stop that I toss by talking about Calhoun starting to get some confidence and success with it under a minute remaining until a freak day with the kick.
This one end zone as well, but a flag coming at the point of contact.
Dead ball encroachment on the kicking team.
She hard for, I'm out of it.
It's offsides.
That's why I always called offsides, it's encroachment.
Now, I'm just one way behind the time.
The picture is the same.
It's called it something there.
Well, they changed the rules.
I'm lost, I'm just completely lost with a real.
Change comes into play.
It's taking me forever to figure out how overtime is playing at all three different levels.
So after the assessment the Laphroaig day, will kick it again.
Got a chance this time.
We have a running back.
There's Rogers Rogers to the 20 and the initial wave puts him down at the 21.
Yard line, Rogers a bit hearing a bit guilty on that return Jeff, let's good.
Observation Charles you remember we got you got hurt earlier down as they were going in at that wide receiver spot on that slip screen and and he does appear not to be at full speed right now.
37 seconds left.
First half Buford after the run by Cody gets 21-7 21-14, lead over the yellow jackets.
See how coach lamb and the Yellowjackets play these last 37 seconds.
Spread offense and keep it on the ground Christian, or to the 25-yard line.
Curry and on the stop for the wolves.
The Yellowjackets seemingly content to leave it at a 7 point.
Differential, going into the half, that's good football.
Lets them work for both.
Don't want to make them any mistakes here before the half were behind a little bit.
Maybe get Rogers in.
They're going to look at him.
See if you got to re-tape him up to something and that is where it will stand at the intermission walls with a late score.
In the first half, lead it 21 to 14 over the yellow jackets of Calhoun.
Good first half of football to this double.
A championship from the Georgia Dome John Nelson standing by Nelly.
Thanks here with the head coach Jess Simpson.
You wanted it to be an inside game.
They work the perimeter but you got momentum Layton half.
We did.
I mean we just we had to keep hanging in there and you know, if we can keep them from throwing over the top, we're going to have a chance here in the second half, but we got to run the ball.
We've done a pretty good job with that.
We played the run pretty good we just got to defend the perimeter a little better.
Anything surprise you in the first half from Calhoun, about exactly what I expected.
All right, thanks for your time.
Jess, Simpsons up, seven as we head to halftime, guys.
Thank you, John.
114 lead for the Wolves over the yellow jackets.
Back with more from the Georgia.
Dome halftime performance is coming your way.
We are back live at the intermission of this, double a championship ball game, from the Georgia Dome, at the break.
It's the Wolves of Beaufort leading the yellow jackets of Calhoun 21 to 14 very good.
First half of football, wolves with the seven-point edge as we go into the halftime performances here at the Georgia Dome right now.
It is the marching yellowjacket band of Calhoun High School performing here at the Georgia Dome bands.
Michael Clarke, drum major is Stephanie Gibson.
216 members of the yellowjacket band, tonight's performance will be hearing selections of Dirty, Deeds.
Done Dirt Cheap Thriller Rockin Robin and Never My Love.
Let's go down and take a listen.
Martin yellowjacket bands, including its performance here in the Georgia Dome, our field Proctor standing by now, with the principal Calhoun fill, as why Charles always hanging out with the principal.
This is one to West more than one do.
What did you think about the band's performance by our fantastic is always.
They are just wonderful.
They are the spirit and just the community loves everything.
They do.
So they're great and tell me about the performance of your team in the first half.
What do you think about?
Well, I Like we came down here, we had the heart for it and we showed everybody what we had but we just cannot wait to see what's going to happen during the second half and one of the people always say that is all about the shoes.
But what I want you guys to do is to take a look at Wanda's, gold shoes here and there's a story behind these shoes.
What is it?
The story is that our previous principal and we all loved had the golden shoes and upon his departure.
He wanted to wish the school and myself.
Good luck.
Look.
So he gave me a pair of gold shoes and they are Priceless.
Everybody knows about the shoes and we're all about the shoes.
So we wear them for every home game and we certainly had to wear them tonight.
Okay.
So according to Wanda it's all about the shoes.
Once you tell us a little bit about Calhoun High School, Calhoun High School is just the most wonderful place.
And I delete, really mean that we teach a lot about attitude and character, and I think that's why we are successful on the football.
Cook, the outside here at school.
McClure are among the best in the state.
We just received word that we're US News and World report's 25.
Best schools in the state of Georgia.
We're also the recipient of the Gold Award from the governor which means where the top 12 high schools in the state academically, so we produce very well-rounded students.
Want to thank you so much for visiting with us once again, it's all about the shoes and Analysis back upstairs to Jeff and Charles, thank you, Phil and we'll put our shoes back on 21.
114 the Wolves leading, the Yellow Jacket quick timeout.
As you take a look at some of the Christmas scenes here, around the capital of Georgia after the timeout back with more.
Georgia Dome, the Beaufort High School, Marching Band Awards performing here at the Georgia.
Dome 75 members of the band directed by Wallace.
Conrath performance.
Naughty swing time.
Let's go down and listen end.
The jubilant atmosphere as our boys returned our sailor.
One of the lucky ones comes back to find himself once again in the arms of the girl, he loves Down here with dr. Benjamin wild, Buford bands behind us.
And while we are at the Double a championship, first thing I want to talk to you about is the Triple A philosophy of excellent.
You have there at the high school but Buford High School.
We strive for AAA.
Excellent.
That's excellence in academics.
Athletics and the Arts where we very blessed and Buford to have incredible faculty and staff as well as students.
Not only that with the support of an incredible Board of Education superintendent, central office, and community.
That leads to much success of you.
So what's the week been, like up there.
I know that Championship weeks are always fun to let's have been like for a first-year principle, but I think it's been more nerve-racking for me than them.
You know, they've it's been business as usual with finals next week, on our kids have been focused on making sure they're ready for final exams and then also for tonight.
So, what else is going on there at Buford?
I know that it's been a strong year athletically, as well as academically, but what else is going on?
Well, I'll tell you what, we had a great year in our one-act play, They were state Runners UPS.
Not only that everything taking place from the state championships for softball and basketball season, and Russell and starting up, dr. Benjamin thanks for your time.
Let's send it back upstairs to Charles and Jeff.
Thank you, John.
And thank you to dr. Bitumen at the information, that's a 21-14.
Lead for the Bulls to take a look at some of the first half.
Highlights.
After an early interception, the Wolves took full advantage of it on.
A 21-yard touchdown, run by Cody, gets the first score of the ball game but with 4:30 to remain In the first quarter, the yellow jackets answer right back, Goin Up top on a 27-yard touchdown pass from Michael Johnson, Michael Johnson to Derrick Ramsey, but the Wolves answering right back with the same guy, Cody gets this time and the second quarter going in from two yards away and the Yellowjackets with another answer to that touchdown, a two yard pass to Dustin.
Christian coming out of the backfield and then concluding the second half and a very inappropriate and a hard run by Cody gets for the touchdown run into 21-14 lead for The walls at the intermission Jeff as we survey some of the first half stats where you can see, Calhoun is making its way through the Air 162 yards passing Beaufort on the ground.
They start to pick their running checkup 137 yards and they ran the ball.
Well, with two short feels penalties, help.
No one grabbed.
They got into the 21 points and Calhoun on the other hand, they want to go up top.
They want to throw the ball and they're making some big explosive plays.
Getting it into the end zone for their 14, the time of possession.
Surprisingly, I think, because I don't have all that much, you hold the ball, almost three minutes more than Buford with that passing attack.
Charles Cody gets really the Highlight player that first half 13, carries 101 yards, Phil Proctor standing by at Sideline.
Phil Go Tell Em you down by seven.
Would you tell your troops at the half?
Well, we just gotta get lined up on defense.
That's my main concern.
We get lined up on defense and gives a better chance to play, but we got to keep answering them.
Scores.
You know we're playing.
Okay, we're playing a very good football team but we're playing.
We're playing fine.
What about Kate and Parker?
How's he doing?
He's out me.
I don't know.
He's got a bad ankle problem, but I don't know if it's broken or dislocated or what, but he won't play the second half.
All right, good luck to you second half.
Thanks a lot back.
Upstairs to you guys.
Thank you.
Phil 21-14.
Lead for the Wolves over the yellow jackets.
This ball game is not over by a long shot.
Second half coming your way after this timeout.
My glove inside the Georgia, Dome, the class double a championship, football game 2114.
A Wolves of Beaufort leading the yellow jackets of Calhoun.
As we get set to start the third quarter, glad you could join us on GPB Charles Ward, Jeff Van milk, Jon Nelson and field Proctor with the storyline for this ballgame.
Wolves leading it by seven.
They will have the football to start Us in this third quarter.
wolves vying for their sixth State title Yellow Jackets trying to pick up their second Griffith kicks it away this time.
He kicks it deep and into the end zone.
So the homes of Beaufort will start this rod and this third quarter on offense from their 20-yard line outstanding first half but Cody gets and the Buford wolves and take a look at the possessions in this first half for the wolves on their first plate or the first possession they got the touchdown on the Run by gets than two punts and then after an 11-play 74-yard drive that result.
The touchdown and right before the break of Five played 56-yard, touchdown Drive I was culminated with a run by Cody gets as well.
Michael met, the senior quarterback under Center keeps it on the ground with a break.
At the line of scrimmage is curry, curry up near the 30 yard line and they'll put them down near the 33, more than enough for that Buford first down to start this third quarter.
Well, lucky for us, I think Calhoun is to contain them.
Make them go the distance, don't give up the big play, the big run, they had short feels, and then penalties that really hurt to Calhoun.
Defense, and in the first half, where they got the 21 points to this, start with a big run out of just the curry right at the start.
1st and 10 from the 33.
Rolling left side, May raise his got a man out in the flats that's curly again.
Client coming in acre, but I've been guilty of a face mask after the catch by Jessel.
Curry a nice play by the Buford offense.
Very nicely done.
Expect the you get ten, eleven yards on a run, you might come back at a run from running team.
No little bit of a roll out, throwing on the Run, Milton, a curry coming out of the backfield and then they pick up the inadvertent face mask.
Kind of nice job, that'll put them inside of yellow, jacket territory.
I mean, right at your living room there, it's just a on the couch.
First down, well, his father but he was a tremendous.
Tough linebacker from North Carolina.
Following Lawrence Taylor in that group there indeed, I don't think he had the offensive skills.
This son has he won't mind you saying that either May 4 of 7 on the night, on the ground with the carrier's Johnson.
Now we break left side, wins the foot race at the corner, Johnson at the 10 inside the 5 touchdown here.
They had him contained.
Briefly Storm Johnson.
After a second look.
Fights off the one would-be tackler there and then it got to be a foot race and Storm Johnson.
Simply does not lose many of those.
Well he's been very quiet so far this first half and you're right.
They had a two-yard loss instead of turns into a touchdown run but a great day on the point after and the world strike first here in the second half, extending their lead twenty eight to 14 over the yellow jackets.
From behind the line of scrimmage Johnson fall off that tackle right there, but behind the line of scrimmage, which is where they would have had him for a loss, but the second effort by Storm Johnson results in a 32-yard touchdown.
Run for the Wolves right there.
Yes, Josh White had an initial hand on him.
But it takes more than that to bring Johnson down really showed great speed to going all the way across the field like that and out running everybody.
It'll hurt.
I think the defensive team talking about the Calhoun losing Caden, Parker 14, tackles for losses this year, a couple of sacks peacock at that defensive end tackle position, you can Sublime position.
Probably a defensive end rather clear, that 3033 353, some more of an N3 pay of play yard scoring drive for the Wolves and the first day, we'll kick it away now and into the end zone.
The yellow jackets starting from the 20-yard line.
Jeff said so much in the game of football, that that first possession coming out of the intermission so important, whether you're trailing are leading in their of the Wolves trying to set the tone for the second half with that, easy drive down fuel for the touchdown.
Well, you're right.
Charles is that's to momentum plays that one going into the half knot right before the half.
And nevertheless they go ahead, 2114 breaker, 14-14 tie and then you come out and all of a sudden you have stabbed yourself with the only bit of run a big.
By scored gunson.
First, didn't end for the Yellowjackets, Michael Johnson will roll it right side.
Raises Fires at the sidelines.
Nice toe.
Tap about Eric McGowen.
Once again, had one like that in the first half pulls Us in at the sidelines, close to the first down marker Calhoun.
And so often in football at any level you need to meet scores, you need to match scores.
Once the team scores on you, you have to do something with your offense and get a score going and let it get away from you.
That's what?
Coach lamb spoke about put it back after this third quarter that they have to answer every time the Wolves score and we will see if they do because the rules have scored in this third quarter.
Johnson, misdirection.
We're gonna go right side.
Christian with a football and Christian cooldown, seemingly behind the line of scrimmage.
There, it was a second down and one.
Both the inside linebackers, 35, Jake pavelka and landed Johnson.
34 both keying on that.
Plane up, being fooled by the misdirection and right in the hole.
Put the stop on Christian third.
Down into after a loss of one trip receivers at the bottom of your screen.
Snap Johnson looking right Fires at the sidelines, McAllen there again enough with it, while Yellow Jacket, first down.
Well, you can see that Michael Johnson and then certainly McCowan trip.
Trip account of really work.
This was just this little out pattern to the sidelines.
Nice job of keeping his feet.
Boom, bounce to control him for going out all off, but the lengths are applying Russian.
The great one out of Florida State first antenna on the ground Christian looking for room on the inside land and Anderson in on to stop for the Wolves Christian with a pickup of about three or four on that play.
For the Yellowjackets, we're in the inside trap, Right Guard?
Clemens scrapping right to left and left the mesh wasn't there.
Exactly was a little bit delayed and And it helped the play a little bit of help would open up a little second down six.
Johnson looking left now back.
Right.
Dumps it down.
Low Christian fighting ahead near the 42 about a yard shy of a marker like you wanted to Rogers or Macau and deep.
Well covered as away.
The safety don't take car all day.
Good position or with the quarterback to peer rock bridges.
Take away that first possession of the ball game, where Johnson prove interception oxide of outings manage his team fairly well, make some real quick decisions, third and two, they're going to go right side Christians, got the corner, he's trying to catch up from behind Kristen lunges.
Did he get in touch down jackets?
That'll get them going in the dome.
59-yard touchdown run by the sophomore, Dustin Christian being chased at the end of that.
Play by Gaza way, it's just a great great job of getting to the edge and shown a propensity to run too much.
The Christian really love them up on the outside with great speed and just when we talk about Jeff answering score for score.
The yellow jackets answer the score by the wolves.
28-21 after this, run by Dustin, Christian Lacroix, sophomore, getting that right corner.
Big play potential.
Is this Calhoun team big play Passing big play?
Now with a running game, they're not a grinding about team, they're going to hit a big play on you.
You've is going to have to really tighten up against the big play sets play, 80 yards going, Rob 2 minutes 15 seconds.
Most of those 80 yards coming on that round of 59 by best and Christian for the touchdown sophomore with a lot of football ahead of him.
But that's a run.
He likely won't forget.
Billy's be showing some nice ability like catching a ball out of the backfield and then getting to the edge and now tracing everybody.
Nice looking back, just a sophomore.
Dustin Christian Griffith with the kick high and short return by Johnson from the five at the 24, he break the wall chased out of bounds near the 28 yard line Back on offense, undefeated this, season, 14 and 0.
Right now, enjoying a 29 game win streak yellow.
Jackets with a great answer.
Touchdown run by Christian 7 point spread.
Now Walls with the football, on the ground, gets put into the outside.
May have gotten the yard, not much more.
Cowen and on the stop.
For the Yellowjackets talent show, a little bit of his defensive prowess.
Now, that's a kick-out block by Cole bars and the outside corner and the Kowloon fills it.
No gain on the play, the go to gets again this time.
He's got the sidelines back to the inside, he stepped out of bounds near the 45, yard line.
But Cody gets found the hole shot right through there and picks up a bit ground, Gainer for the Wolves.
We're really starting to heat up.
Started in the in the second quarter, talking about Cody get you you can see why he has that eight yards per Rush.
Carry with the throne that toss and they're running it inside.
Think of toss play.
A lot of times fullback leading Jessel Curry and you go outside know, they'll run it inside.
It's almost like a lead with the toss Colton, Houston.
One of the lineman way, down fuel throwing that extra block, the Cody gets 27 yard pickup by the wolves.
Visuals time out here dead ball, foul substitution fracture on the offense.
Repeat the down.
Like I said, tossed in.
On that plane.
You got the call from the referee going against the Wolves.
Pushing them back to Midfield.
First and Ten for Buford.
On the ground, Johnson, stepped up at the line of scrimmage still Falls ahead for about four on the play.
Eric McDaniel in on the stop for the Yellowjackets.
Make it second down and 12.
Now, for Buford Pitch.
Right side.
Looks the moon.
And finally bounced out of bounds Storm, Johnson near the 28th.
First down, pick up for the Wolves, the other finding success.
With that toss, Ali running it inside and then bouncing it outside.
Most Storm Johnson, and Cody gets running away.
Please, let me go penetration come from the Calhoun's, defensive line there, just just sort of running buying them.
20 yard pick up on the play there by Storm.
Johnson Johnson, the junior gets the senior and combined over 2,000 yards this season on the ground.
This is gets left side.
Got some room at the corner footrace get set, the 10th Powers.
His way down near the 1, yard line.
Gets at the end of this run, watched it blocking up front by the line of scrimmage, but at the end of this run, watch him initiate.
The contact near the 5 yard line, tough power running back with some speed.
Nice execution, nice this is basically designed play to couldn't Jessica Curry right behind the quarterback.
He leads on a kick-out block, and the hole is between Curry and the tight.
During that time pit hole off that left side.
26-yard pick up first and goal to go flag coming in at the line of scrimmage.
Sure of all that shifting.
Bye-bye buford's line is they shifted down into a four-point stamps, didn't draw that ball encroachment on the defense, who's got a nice ball.
I got to get that encroachment down the sides way too.
Old fashioned Charles.
They were down at the one Jeff so that'll push him a half yard closer.
I wouldn't give this team a half yard.
On the ground.
It's curry.
Curry.
Fighting ahead that he break the plane.
No indication given yet.
I think that middle linebacker.
Catch it and see the that's it.
Meets him right in the hole.
Look at him come hi they high load him.
The Harrington Harrison.
Excuse me and number seven.
Number seven, went High.
James Hunt.
A linebacker for the Yellowjackets are born with the stop on Curry.
Very nicely done.
Second and goal to go, they go Curry again this time, he breaks the plane and Spurs, the touchdown for the Royals.
So the answer is continue here in the Georgia, Dome wolves coming back with their own score.
Sneaking left side.
Curry, when Airborne scores a touchdown little birthday on the point after 3521 lead for the Wolves.
Quick, timeout back with more from this double a championship ball game.
The Wolves just keep on coming.
Hey, answer the touchdown by the yellow jackets with our own and Lead it.
Now 35 to 21 6 minutes, 36 seconds left in the third quarter.
Fans from the Beaufort, enjoying the results thus far for the fourth day on the ticket away after the touchdown run by Curry.
Another deep kick by metaphor right day.
And Rogers.
Catch it in the end zone.
So from the 20, the yellow jackets will have the football.
Rogers, definitely walking with a little bit of lip.
You noticed that earlier Charles after Pass caught down near the goal, line and the early first quarter.
But even bothered by the limpet.
Johnson and the yellow jacket offense, back onto the football field, more work to be done.
Well, he's got seven of those 23 TD's in the last three playoff games.
So he's been a very effective quarterback, he's throwing the ball nicely tonight.
On the ground Christian dances ahead near the 24.
Stop made by land and Anderson a linebacker for the Wolves of Beaufort leading tackler for Buford.
So second down and six.
28 consecutive region, 7 double a championship this year, 13th region title overall.
Shotgun Johnson on the comeback route.
Catch is made by Ramsey Ramsey at the 30 Powers.
His way up near the 36.
Yard line, nice run after catching by Derrick Ramsey, I want a car on the stop for Buford.
After the first down pick up by Ramsey to nice blocks out there, it was print up number four with a fine block and also McAllen that nice job of shielding.
The MMA.
I will make that bubble screen go tonight too much.
Rolling right side, Johnson has to hurry at the sideline nicely, executed on the pasta.
McGowan who tote apps out of bounds near the 44.
How to get it off?
Hey, Jai Cunningham, comfrey on the backside was after him strong arm D. Very, very nicely done by Michael Johnson, had a field that ball all the way across the field about a 30 yard, talk to get it over there to work out nicely done, second down and three, On the come back around again to Macau and left side of the field works his way toward Midfield, that's enough for the first down for the Yellowjackets.
Redneck on the stop for Buford to get in the bubble screen.
The wide receiver.
Excellent blocking the Again by both print up and A Real Fine block.
I think that time by a JT Palmer on Curry.
The linebacker.
Does a nice job of shielding them all football resting near Midfield.
First and Ten Johnson rolls right side now.
Backups got a lot of real estate in front of them raises fires.
fires past goes incomplete, a flag coming in.
At the end of that, play intended for Danielle MacArthur with the Yellowjackets for that'll be a hold against the yellow guys.
That's an unfortunate whole to because he's drifting right talking about Michael Johnson and the the defensive line is slanting that way and the Deep offensive lineman are running with him and all the city changes Direction and and you're caught in a tough position may be holding a guy.
Had your hands on a guy.
Spoken like a true Rodman.
It's a real art to her.
It really takes a lot of practice.
I think it's one of the great Innovations and put modern-day football, using your hands.
Cool.
None of these continuing to mount in the Georgia, Dome of total of 17 hula, 10 of those.
First down and a bunch of now for the Yellowjackets Johnson want to play fake.
They're trying to set a screen.
They do so Christian with the football, the 40-yard line of the flag coming in at the end of that play.
Initial call about another hold against the yellow jacket on the screen.
Played on the less.
Yeah and that was by the referee from Deep behind the line of scrimmage holding a little only offense.
The first thing I didn't see it.
What's the been pretty flagrant though?
For the referee, to call it, the able to spot it from this 10 yards behind the line of scrimmage?
So they get them on back-to-back, hold calls, and the Yellowjackets absolutely headed in the wrong direction.
Well, the penalty is just killing them out.
Penalties help them?
Uh, no, I'm sorry, helped Beaufort on that one.
Drive early in the game Calhoun, but now the penalties are hurting their offense.
So, I don't make it first in about 43, Johnson Rowley, trying to get it up.
Filled a flag coming in there, the route by the wideout McDowell was blocked by Rudnick.
So that'll help them.
It will its interference.
Automatic first down, looks like they're going to call this thing against the yellow jackets.
Whoa, you're right.
I think they're stepping back.
Pass interference on the defense look like he knocked him out of balance almost and I mean it was an uncatchable Ball but obviously knocking way off his route.
When the ball was in the air.
When he initiated all that contact, he wasn't going to get beat on it.
Fly like early in the game when Rogers cut that big past, he'd resigned himself to that fact, I don't blame it.
It's lonely out there for thirty three left in the third quarter.
After he helped safety Health.
Where are you need you?
It'll be First and Ten from the 31 for the 32 yard line.
If I had a great teammate in Roger burden wound, redfish Oakland Raiders.
Rookie of the Year, strong safety punt, return of the Raiders is a long time ago, and Raider teammates who play with him.
Said all.
They could hear was bird backer young help me, help me, cover covers, you know all the time at the safety spot yelling for help.
So it was guys talk to each other backyard and secondary everyone.
An island.
All of you.
Had a little bit myself, I understand what you're talking about, you know what that exactly on the throwback.
It's McGowan took his eyes off of Correction Ramsey took his eyes off at pascoe's and complete the trade you play here locally and Statesboro.
Yeah, nice good.
Football teams down there.
Dave lot of fundamental state where you only the championship people know right now, I missed his stash a few of you.
It's tough.
Glad I got out of there.
That's it.
They've they've had some great teams down there but I like that Young Chris Hatcher.
Yeah in Valdosta decided.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Second down and 10 here, back in the Georgia Dome for 29 left in this third quarter from the 32 yellow jackets with a football Christian will have it right side out a couple of blockers in front of them.
Can't step through the hole though pull down near the Four yard line.
Sake is on the stop for the wolves.
Well apparently, got him back into position.
A little bit.
This has been an extended dry because of penalties, but then you got to take advantage of it.
They were like, five out of seven, third down the first half, talking about Calhoun.
This is a very difficult, long, third and third, mate.
And they'll take a time out to talk about it before they try and trailing 35 to 21 to the Wolves of Beaufort 358.
Remains in this third quarter.
We caught up with Coach Simpson before the ball game to get his thoughts about what's special about this year's team.
Really been special because of we have a big senior class or 26 kids and I told everybody this is a young team is just a very inexperienced team.
They've waited their turn and had an outstanding senior year.
I think they probably had a lot of doubters and naysayers coming in because of how good we were a year ago and how many Star players D1 type kids that we lost a year ago and these kids don't have that they're probably a lot more plow horse and show horse and just get it done but A very physical blue-collar Bunch who loves you for football and play the game the right way.
That's enough to like the team very well described by the coach 13 years of Buford for years as a head coach graduate of Auburn.
Thank you for that program from Dexter.
Would now, only Athletics, director of Beaufort between the two of them.
They have set something really solid and wonderful for the Beaufort Community third down and eight Johnson with the snap, here comes the pressure.
Now he tries to dump it at the 39 yard line as incomplete slightly under thrown intended for Derrick Ramsey.
Looking deep first as he rolled out.
Well, covered down the field short-faced.
Go to the short guy, pretty good coverage there.
To Curry, and Landon Anderson both, in their both linebackers covered in short, fourth down and ate or force a punt.
By the yellow jackets.
Playing Beaver on ticket away.
They going to try to direct snap though that fills, but Beaver picks it up, and he's got some room in front of him, fortunes rolling, the way of the yellow cats.
Yellow Jackets, as Beaver picks it up and runs it for the first down.
So they have three guys who are the up backs and theyíre appears and I can catch all of it.
They were trying to snap to one of them.
You're right.
Jeff, but he fumbled it and just a nice reaction by the punter.
Catch the Sunday, hop and takes it around the end.
Wow, and runs it for the Yellow Jacket first.
So First and Ten for Calhoun Johnson back in business, dumps it underneath the Christian Christian.
Hit at the point of reception mirror.
The 48-yard line they brought down there Flag tossed in at the end of that play Christian.
Slow to get up for the Yellowjackets.
That's probably about the fourth ball denied.
Cookie question Christian is caught and you can bet the Beaufort he's after a touchdown cancer started to tighten up a little bit with their linebackers covering him when he does flare out of the backfield, she will dump underneath the dust and Christian.
And met ten personal foul on the defense results.
You can see at the end of that play, Jeff Christian had his leg kind of wrapped under him.
After the initial hit by the to wool Defenders, little bit of a Twist.
He's getting up walking to the sidelines and not dragging anything.
It looks good sign.
We could probably see him back in.
Finish him with that 59-yard touchdown run in the second half.
Seventh reception on a Nikon 40 yards, but that one touchdown grab from two yards away.
Find performance Christian for the Yellowjackets S5.
First in 10, after the assessment.
Now on the ground, Yellow Jackets will keep it.
With the carry was killed.
The Holbrook the junior running back.
Oh cars on the stop for Buford, tough getting movement there.
Warmington 78 Dallas, lead Alice, Lee 64, 295 purple, warmington 64 250.
That's an all senior offensive line for Calhoun but don't have near the size that they're up against that.
Aren't they've done a nice job of protecting.
Michael Johnson vertical pressure on him under three minutes remaining in the third quarter.
second down and nine but Calhoun flags at the line of scrimmage Dead ball, snapping fraction only office seeds are called against the yellow jackets.
Coming up next on GPB is the 4A championship ball game featuring the Tigers of Tucker and the war eagles and Maris both at 13 and 14.
Repeat of a game played earlier this year where Maris beat the Tigers of Tucker, they'll go for the championship ball game.
The gulf will come your way on GP be about 30 minutes after this contest concludes on the throwback with Rogers.
Right side Rogers knocked out of bounds near the 15-yard line of flag, coming in at the corner of the hit at the side.
Likely personal foul Rogers, not showing any ill effect of the leg on that catch and run Jeff.
No, it looked look very good.
You got a great block out of his right tackle Jackson who takes out the linebacker and that's it just that bubble screen that wide receiver screen.
They've been trying to run all night long.
This is this time they get alignment out there instead of having the two wide receivers in front of the receiver.
And Jackson look very Elusive and picks up an extra Penny.
Lot of penalties in this game, that ball All personal files on a defense at the distance.
For 2 minutes, 17 seconds left in the third quarter, Yellow Jackets trying to cut into that deficit.
First and goal now, Johnson going to the corner of the end zone.
Pass is incomplete was trying to get it out there to read.
McGowan the senior redneck providing the coverage for Buford Down six.
You wanted Rudnick at six feet that women are trying to create the past based upon the speed and separation, not less.
Not just tossing it in the corner for height.
Yeah, they were hoping I think with all that action in the backfield at the play action and then the spin by the quarterback that maybe they get somebody peeking back there.
Take his eye off of receive it didn't happen.
Good job by running second down and goal to go for the Yellowjackets.
Shotgun Johnson pass out the flags that you made and the tackle made and immediately with the ahead.
Oh my golly Jake or burka on the stop for the Wolves wide receiver screen.
You've got to have stick and stay contacted this block here on verka and good reaction by the linebacker.
The senior linebacker 510 193.
To the wide receiver screen forced on the yellow.
Jackets minute, 45 remaining.
In the third.
They face a third down and eight.
So critical for them.
Okay.
So you're at home watching this live ball game here on GPB, I know you're asking yourself how can I show some support for this on public television?
Simple call one of those numbers on your screen or you can visit our website at gpb.org and we thank you so much for supporting Georgia Public Broadcasting.
3521 Beaufort leading Calhoun Winner's Crown double A Champs state of Georgia.
Third down and eight for the Yellowjackets of Calhoun, trying to punch one end here.
Before the end of this third quarter that into that Buford lead about a five-minute drive at Calhoun is growing will stop and start with penalties but couple of big plays with touchdown, vitally important, right here, for Calhoun jackets, with one timeout remaining after they burned won their third and 8, our third and goal to go from the eighth.
Johnson row left now on to throwback threw it high.
But the catch is made in back of the end zone.
Touchdown.
My gal flag coming in in the end zone there.
Jeff Well, I think they're going to call a block in the back.
I thought Grand the center, 61 very nice block on Cunningham, I thought of course, sort of partials Center playing, I believe it'll probably call it maybe a block in the back that look like a nice execution on the wide receiver screen.
That's must be the seventh or eighth screen that they thrown tonight, like that.
Holding get a touchdown taken off the boat.
Well, you see the pressure coming early in Jackson and there's the center.
Whoop.
Yeah.
Keep those hands in a little tighter.
A little tighter.
Clear from that shot, send them to Chuck's misalignment can Chuck.
So I know he's got a deal, I make a call I got a little lineman Camp to someone.
Nice call by the officiating crew.
Tough call third, and goal to go this time from the 12 Johnson, raises fires, and Williams own clothes interception, it's picked off by Jeffrey.
Guys, way you guys will way working his way up near the 30 yard line, I'll flag coming in near the 15th.
Maybe against Buford on the run, back, probably maybe a block in the back or something.
Michael Johnson, thrown that interception.
The very first play of the game or second play Early in the game.
Moving to his left, he has got McAllen.
If he, if he could set his feet, tough tough to throw across your body.
Like, I'm moving to your left, but he couldn't set his feet, and the ball toward a hung behind McCowan.
Nice interception note by guys away On the replay is exactly as you indicated.
You rolling left and trying to get it out in front of the receiver is even extra tough.
Yes.
Yeah.
Gaza way Hannah return.
And some of this will be brought back virtue of the illegal block thrown on that return.
Well, you get a five-minute drive going.
You get down, knocking inside the Red Zone and then get a turnover important.
Now though you got them backed up here at the 3 yard line and this is where Buford an easterly in the first three quarters is game had trouble operate when they they didn't get a short field or they didn't get good field position.
This is terrible field position, yellow jackets have got to throw that disappointment aside and concentrate on Wichita.
About.
Now in terms of painting the walls down here to get the ball back left side or right side of dangling, back up near the 10-yard line on the carry is gets Yeah, it's gets about for perhaps, five on that, carry for Buford Paris, and then on to stop for the Yellowjackets.
Approach one minute remaining here in the third.
Too much first down run your defensive team.
Got them back up like a you've got to hold them down and they're going to get in the room management.
Third down, he got six on the play, Langley back to the inside, a flag coming in on that plate.
James Hunt, the senior linebacker in, on the stop for the Yellowjackets.
Good.
Let's check the flag.
Here, we a record-setting day for penalties on both teams shrunk.
Keep the officials busy though, got air in the chest, breathing small over, probably for this one, they are working the night.
Those officials for your rep, McGowan the holding on the offense, to the goal, the second half, I do push the Wolves back inside the 5-yard line.
The only sphere you go, man for man and get everybody can get in the Box.
Buford has not taken any chances tonight.
Especially in a situation like this on the ground, they work at left side and with a big carry up the field for the Wolves is land and Anderson.
Anderson coming on the other side of the football.
Runs it for the Beaufort 1st out.
It's just like it was in the old days.
We play fullback and you played middle linebacker to go and answer real eggs.
Nice job by Anderson hitting a little gash up the middle.
Well, executed by Buford getting out of a hole.
Now, football up to the 18 yard line.
One more play before the quarter expires.
That'll be a Pitch left side.
Gets got some road gets at that second level.
Now, Yes, finally, stumbled your head near the 48 yard line and a big ground Gainer but by Cody gets who else to bring us to the end of this third quarter?
At the end of three, it is a 3521 lead for the worlds of Beaufort over the yellow.
Jackets, back with the fourth.
After this.
29, yard run by Cody.
Gets at the end of that, third quarter, pushes us into the fourth.
That's First and Ten for the wolves from their own 47, yard line.
On the ground.
Johnson Maneuvers West past one, tackler, got it inside a yellow jacket, territory to the 48 but now you want to keep it on the ground.
That's good job by Buford getting out from the shadow of their own Gold Coast of inside.
The five overcome, the some penalties gets has been outstanding and we put him still a bit.
Let's Storm Johnson come in.
Second down and five Johnson picking up five on the previous play.
Johnson with more work, this time left sides, got some balloon breaks, the level got it inside the 35 down to the 32 first down, run for Johnson right now, Jeff sensing that the Wolves starting to really settle into their offensive pattern for the Monopoly comfortable about where they are in a football game.
Well, it's a fun offense to watch their either kicking out with a fullback or bringing an h-back in motion with.
Put the pullback of the H back or they put a cold H, @h back 41, and bringing them across a and kicking out.
They do a nice job of getting the edge.
They keep it on the ground.
All the head is Jake pavelka running some fullback.
Now for the wolves and perfect burka, got it near the 27, yard line stop by Josh White for the Yellowjackets Calhoun, almost 3,000 yards, rushing 59, rushing TDS.
This is a very fun power running football team with speed second and five.
Rolling right side, May dumps it down.
Low pass incomplete was intended for Jessel Curry.
Under thrown by Michael May well.
Said, most difficult.
Catch your back facing the sidelines, and you're trying to bend over catch a low ball.
You want to hit that back in the stride so he can make the turnip field, low throat.
so, third down and five now, The Yellowjackets cannot afford it at the wolves.
Get a touchdown here.
If they can stop him here, they may prevent some of that momentum, but on the carry left side is Guess Who Cody gets and gets, it's got enough for the walls first out.
Josh White on this top of the yellow jackets.
Once again, Cody gets having an exceptional night for the Wolves.
Well, they're doing it, just a great job, but getting to the, The Edge gets on the night.
20 carries for 191 yards, three touchdowns gets eclipses.
His single game high with 191 here at 160 in a previous contest this year.
So, break his own record their on Ground trying to pick up some more this time bumped hard at the line of scrimmage still early, but it obviously Cody gets in running for more than special teams player of the year.
I just a super night, good job by his offensive line, your average what 10 didn't get?
The number carries and 10 yards of carries averaging, almost 20 carries for almost 200 yards.
Yeah, a little bit under that you've got the numbers, right?
Second and nine.
The left side, gets looking for some room this time.
Initiating the contact near the 15 yard line and fights his way down to the 13 Bret McGowen on the stop.
You heard coach group Simpson talking about it about the quality of this team and how he characterized him as kind of a blue-collar type team?
Boy.
No better example of it than Cody gets know they were, at you.
I mean, they're wearing down Calhoun's defense.
It this defense is getting tired or not as big we've been beating on and they're chasing a lot of little bit third down and two.
Triple-I behind me on the ground spinning.
Its Johnson.
May have gotten it back to the line of scrimmage, but the yellow jackets very stingy on that play.
Rat Jackson, leading the charge for the Yellowjackets.
And that'll bring up a fourth down and a field goal.
Attempt here, Daniel the burka.
I've worked.
12:17 until goes on the ear.
Here comes a 32-yard effort and Heat Is On Target.
Mark day converged on the 32-yard field goal and the Wolves extend, their lead 38.
220 1748 remaining in the championship game coach.
Jess Simpson of the Wolves will Buford.
We caught up with him and hear his thoughts about what he likes about the professional coaching.
What I love best about coaching is On the grass with the kids.
You know my my favorite part of every day is from 3:30 to 6:00 and being up on the field and getting to coach my kids.
And and I do enjoy working with my coaches in the office and dealing with kids and interacting with kids on a daily basis outside of ball.
But what I love the most is being on the grass with the kids, it's also got to love being on the turf, inner Dome giving it a results.
They're having tonight here Jack.
Well, you're a very successful program.
I think the Reapers Kim a different Georgia public television.
I'm not mistaken.
Coach would, was not in it that very first year and it was here from Buford in the commentating roll past.
It's been 10 or 11 years ago but he established a very successful program in coach just Simpson is keeping it going.
Turn it over to some very capable hands but birthday on the kick.
And Rogers will have a run back from the five Kathy and all.
He's at the 15 and hit at the 20 yard line and worked his way up to perhaps 222.
Devin Durden.
Donna, stop for Beaufort.
Big mountain to climb for the Yellowjackets with 7 Minutes.
38 seconds left in the ball game.
You for playing playing here in the Georgia Dome.
Johnson, slight, roll left, Praises fires, got a man Rogers out in the flapper Rogers.
Works his way up to the 37 yard line first down pick up for the Yellowjackets.
So you're going to get a little bit of soft coverage now.
Three-man Rush dropping eight, keeping the safeties deep who's going to be some soft coverage underneath as that play was and nice job by Rogers.
Oh picking up some yards after the catch cracking on that, Jeff to Sean print up for senior wide, out on a grab for the Yellowjackets.
This time they go on the ground and absolutely nothing there.
The carry by kill the Holbrook.
Holbrook may not have gotten it back to the line of scrimmage.
Hurry and Jones and on the stop for Buford second down and 10.
Johnson dropped the football as a result.
Redneck.
Will the quality stick.
I McGowan after the attempted catch.
Bridges in on that, hit for the Wolves cars been in on some place and it's car bridges.
And almost make an interception that first half down there.
The Beaufort Sidelines came up injured on that plate of seem to have recovered.
Five Johnson looks up the middle of the field.
Threw it high, this one goes incomplete.
Trying to get it to JT Palmer.
that'll make it fourth down now, for the Yellowjackets, He had him.
Goethe Palmer did linebacker coverage on land in Jackson, underneath a little bit, with Palmer went up in the air.
Just climb the ladder.
High enough to call Sloan too high.
Lane Beaver will line up into punt formation.
before he does a timeout taken by the yellow jackets of Calhoun, we viewers like you to help support the live broadcast of these games.

I just finished reading John grisham's a book about his high school experiences, very short read very quickly.
Pretty good.
So the football now First in ten walls will have it from the 30-yard line of the yellow jackets on the ground gets looking for room at the corner, gets gets to the second level.
Now the third now it's touchdown 30-yard, run by Cody gets Yeah, that's with his fourth touchdown, run of the night.
What?
An outstanding way to culminate, your high school football player.
Birthday on the phone after and he is good.
Has been all night long standing cosplay is been tell whose demise, they have not been able to seal the edge.
Got to have to contain that play and force it back inside.
Hope you have linebacker play or defensive line plate, great execution by View.
Slicing run by Cody, get in fourths fourth touchdown on the night on our record-breaking night for him.
Just look at the cutting good.
He does.
He's a really fine cut.
Back.
Runner-up to bring down.
Very compact.
Charles compact back, runs it in for its fourth, TD on a night.
So I'm going to record.
I'm sure for Buford 4521.
Wolves extend.
Their lead, six minutes.
24 seconds away from a double a title.
Her birthday with the kick that goes in the end zone.
Yellow Jackets will come from the 20.

Shark.
Jump down here to the Georgia Dome.
No exception Calhoun turned out tonight.
Indeed they did shut down part of the town to get down here upper and even in the upper deck and some post got box seats over there on the ground.
Yellow Jackets run it maybe back to the line of scrimmage carry by Colby.
Holbrook.
Well they've done a good job.
You a defensive one, dimensionalizing Calhoun's attack tonight.
It really taken that Run, Dat Ass.
I think the longest Romans a 9-yard run There was something else in there, but Calhoun has got to put it in the air.
Michael Johnson has had some big explosive past Place.
Certainly, in that first half.
You'll show shotgun here.
S, nine keeps it on the ground, though.
Bang at the line of scrimmage is Holbrook once again.
Say, cuss on the initial hit for the Wolves of Beaufort and whose sake is has had a great night.
Couple of bookend defensive ends in sake.
It's and we talked about earlier cult, ours, 41, and 43 sake is being recruited for division.
One football had made any kind of decision yet, but whoever gets him will be getting a quality student as well.
3.9 GPA forsake us Third down and 10 for Johnson Johnson on the fake will keep it himself and hit from behind pull down after about a four yard run.
Curry with the stop.
I sure have Johnson intended to hand that football off are not Jeff but the distance between he and the running back too wide so he had to run it.
I think you're right.
Charles, they just look like they're just trying to utilize the clock now.
Fourth down and six.
Beaver lines up to punt.
For 20 remaining this football game, a good kick this time.
Bounces back up field near the 39 yard line and that's where Beaufort will take over the football.
We talked to Coach and lamb of Yellowjackets to get his thoughts about what he likes about coaching as well.
Well coaching is, you know, it's very difficult at times.
But the thing that's very promising when you get into coaching as you're building relationships with kids, you know, it's not about winning and losing but it's about the relationships that you build with kids.
And when they go on to play college ball or a going to get a great job and then they come back and see you and coach and tell tell you coach, I appreciate what you did for me, playing High School football.
That's what.
That's what coaching is about to me.
So coach lamb when it's thoughts while coaching these kids.
Very rewarding, very rewarding, my old high school coach at home in Louisville and I go to our schools closed now, high school clothes, closing, 68, undefeated since 68 is their motto and he and I go to the reunions together.
We will year and every year in June and we also have a beer at the VFW.
I'm old enough now to have a beer with my coach for the yeah, the VFW.
Wonderful memory dicknuts dick blocker.
Very wonderful news second down and six here at the Georgia Dome.
On the ground left side.
Carrie that time by Curry, was it for the wolves?
Indeed, let's hurry on the carry.
Three nice-looking backs in the Christians are fine back for Calhoun.
Three good-looking Backs, from gets Curry and Storm Johnson for Beaufort.
They have been very effective tonight.
That's real.
On the ground spinning, right side is my workout at the Carry.
Close to the first down marker.
Alex Kirby freshman in on the stop for the Yellowjackets.
We approach.
2 minutes remaining here in this double a championship football game.
From the Georgia Dome wolves headed for their sixth State title back-to-back state titles.
Just in front of him.
They will increase their record here at the Georgia.
Dome, six appearances in postseason.
Play for the Wolves here at the Georgia Dome each time.
They have been successful.
This will be the seventh Flags coming in at the line of scrimmage.
Make sure that's illegal.
Formation went on balance, right?
And then they ran it right up the middle, but powerful Mission imbalance, right?
I'm not sure which illegal encroachments on the outfits.
Was it legal to if you write encroachment include just about everything, just a catch-all category.
Michael May, the senior quarterback has done a fine job with his wolves offense throughout the night.
Wolves the seventh appearance in the state finals in the last nine years.
One of only six teams to play in 10, GHSA Championship, ballgames, 21 region, titles, eight, consecutive me region title this year.
That's doubt need.
It is that is, it's a very fine program.
We've got going great support.
See is when the families here tonight.
Timeout on the field but I'm in it.
Eight remaining in the contest and take a look at what's coming your way.
Next on GPB, it's the 4A Championship from right here, in the Georgia Dome, the Tigers of Tucker will have a rematch with the war eagles, amaris both at 13 and 21.
That ballgame coming your way about 30 minutes.
After the conclusion of this one here on GPB.
Maris thirty eight to nothing winners over Tucker.
Early in the season.
It will be interesting to see how that championship ball games unfold, and we'll have it all for you here on GPB wolves.
Put it down inside of the 5-yard line with less than a minute remaining.
Yellowjackets will come back on offense.
Yellow Jackets, 12 and to coming into tonight's ball game.
Everybody had a lily favored as underdogs coming in as underdogs against such a dominant program as a wolves.
A Buford played a good first half of football, but like so many times before, when you have a weight disadvantage and the quality of the program of the world's that just wears on you and then when you get down to the latter stages of the Ballgame, you're really sucking for win.
Yeah.
They they can only hope that they could kill.
Our passing game going at that level they had in the first half.
They weren't able to do that and they just could not run against his team.
Then they couldn't stop the road.
On the ground left, right side as MacArthur with the football and the carry, got it up near the 9, yard line clock running here.
So the wolves We'll get their sixth title and just continuing their dominance of the double A classification in the state.
Ran the table this year.
I ran the table last year.
30 game win streak over the course of two years.
Simpsons think they had to come in the Georgia, Dome and run the ball and stop the run.
They get both on the ground, final play of the ball game up near the 22-yard line and the celebration Begins for the Wolves of Buford.
They are the state to a championship in the state of Georgia.
Their second straight and congratulations to coach, Jess Simpson and the Buford wolves for an impressive win in this to a championship ball game.
45, 221 rolls claim their second straight.
Senior Laden football team for Coach Simpson and they showed it tonight played very mature.
Football did not panic early on as the yellow jackets.
Continue to answer your answer that storage?
Well, it's a good.
It's a great win.
Obviously, when you've been winning like they have, you know, I thought it got key, right?
Maybe lately game, I can't remember that five minute drive.
They took down there.
I think they were down 35 to 21 talking about Calhoun and and then got a touchdown.
Got a call back because of a penalty than the interception came.
And that's basically the ball game.
At the end is they picked up another 13 points or so.
So 45:21 win for the Wolves of Beaufort.
They are you wh a quick timeout and back with more from Georgia, Dome and heard them not getting a touchdown.
I could have been third and fourth.
Although John Nelson and Coach Jess Simpson Nelly, thank you, Charles here, with the winning head coach, he's trying to direct a little traffic.
We're going to keep this moving here a little bit.
Yes, easiest question, how does it feel to win yet?
Another state championship going, back to back.
It feels great.
It's unbelievable.
And Jess is apparently being taken by the GHSA to go get his trophy then we'll try and catch up with maybe a little later on.
We'll send it back upstairs.
Thank you, John.
Not what you expected.
I'm sure of a Should the codes Simpson and the Wolves of Buford 4521 winners for the worlds of Buick to a champ state of Georgia.
