Watch this guy go the drive, backs it in and gets it from the Making Colosseum in the Making Center Flex.
It is day two of making madness for the knockout round.
Swearengen doesn't basketball championships here in 2015 and we start off in the class on the girls side.
Wesley in coming out of Region six with the record of 24 and seven and Holy Innocents chasing perfection out of Region six with the record of 31.
And oh, here is how these two teams got to this point in time.
Wesleyan beating Bolton 6438, winning by 26, beating Putnam County by 33, almost doubling Brooks County by 35 and beating Lovett by 21 to get the Holy Innocents here at the Macon Coliseum on the flip side, Holy Innocents agreement by 54, LeClair by 48 by Daly and a tough when it was three, the win ended up being 15.
Then Pelham by eight.
Those roads to the championships produced by our friends at Georgia EMC riding the way.
And that's how we were riding the way here to Macon Coliseum.
I am Jon Nelson, this is Shawn Golden.
Thanks for accessing us.
However you are doing so, whether it's on GPB TV's board or the JB Sports app Wesleyan, an amazing pedigree.
Their 12th straight appearance, the last game of the year.
Sean Well, we're here in Macon for the state championship games.
This is a hoop a palooza.
Got you.
Mark This is the start of something special.
This Western team, John coming in for their 12th state championship game and then also Holy Innocents coming company here trying to go undefeated this season.
Exciting day for us all to watch now for Wesleyan.
Their leading scorer, senior leader Nikki McDonnell.
We keep an eye on her.
Well, Nikki McDonough is a special player, but it's not just about this one player on this team.
It's about teamwork, teamwork, teamwork.
They win when a team win as a team and then lose as a team.
Michael McDonald heading to Ireland once her high school days are done.
Now to the flip side and Holy Innocents.
Not often we focus on a softball, but we are this time.
I love pawn.
I hurt so many things about her.
She's been compared to Allen Iverson, one of the top sophomores in the nation.
She's inside and player and she plays with so much energy and so much flair.
It's going to be special to watch her play this afternoon.
Those are the two players under the microscope that we have.
For us, the third member on the sidelines will be our eyes and ears.
Raven Toronto with the early word on Tony Watkins and Holy Innocents, Raven Thanks, John.
Yeah, we spoke to head coach of Holy Innocents Tony Watkins earlier this week about his thoughts on this Wesleyan program.
And one time that stuck out was the gold standard.
And what coach meant by that is that Wesleyan is a program that is probably one of the best in the past 20 years out of men's and women's basketball.
Now, why is this important, you ask?
Because Coach Watkins believes that if he can beat Wesleyan tonight for a fourth time this season, he will be paving the way for Holy Innocents to be a gold standard program.
Some bold words by Coach Watkins.
John, thank you very much.
We'll be keeping an eye on things and you'll be our eyes and ears.
Here's our starting lineup brought to us by our friends at Regions Bank Regions.
It's time to expect more.
There are four legacies on the Wesleyan roster and we're going to be seeing them, two of them in the starting lineup working in Armstrong.
On the flip side, for Holy Innocents, they are chasing perfection 31 and oh, chasing after win number 32, Tony Washington.
There's Jan Azar on the north end of 450 wins.
Got that January 16th against hate built charter brought the team to mount the sales here in Macon and she has always want to do you have creatures of habit and get success and that's what happens here for the 12th championship appearance in her up Holy Innocents pointer the sophomore Cassel clobbered the freshman wing Sidney Long and Shai Blanding.
And there are two point guards in this lineup for Tony Watkins.
And speaking of Tony Watkins, Tony Watkins, last time he lost it was in this building last year when he was chasing after a state championship.
Raven mentioned he thinks he can get Holy Innocents to the gold standard by winning today.
Sean Golden Keys to Success brought to us by our friends at the technical College System of Georgia.
To learn more and more, let's start with Wesleyan.
Hey John.
Coach Azar talked about ballot scoring.
It's a team effort.
And here's the thing it's hard to beat a team four times in 161 season, especially when you're trying to go for that state championship title Flip Side, Holy Innocents.
And you came up with a bit of a numbers game.
Well, ten six And to understand this, Holy Innocents wins three times.
You see it first by team, second by six and then by two on a last second shot.
You can't out west and they hang around because a hungry team will get confident.
John They're hard to beat.
Both teams view themselves as the underdog in this situation.
Janney's told her team to enjoy the experience and Tony Watkins, we talked to him before the game.
He said, My teams lose lose when you're 31 now, thinking of yourself as the underdog because of what Raven Tirado said in the open, that Wesleyan is what everyone strives to be in Janney's or has built a tremendous program in the last dozen or so.
It's about the fighting dogs and getting it when see he has to fight for the time to have to fight first punch may get to be thrown by holy innocence here as we start the double championship playing our part, Boehner thought about steps, and that's to be expected.
Here's a sophomore being put in position to lead her team and will her team, John, to a state championship.
First time in this position.
That was a special case for her to get the jitters out.
She slowed down the field.
Jessica meyer registering a freshman job most of the season the last couple of weeks.
Jumper for three off the front of the rim.
No good rebound on the inside off the glass up in one quarter and layups and close shots is what you want John to get rid of those early game jitters Great offensive rebound fantastic good that looking inside great running touch passing shot a lot of hands in the air off the glass the two for both They love it were great movement against his own zone and fantastic pass there by Tony you see what I mean down the floor right way off the window.
No good rebound such a hands it in the floor.
Bunch of bodies in the floor he's going to come up with it Looks like Wesleyan changed possession about nine times when they hit the floor.
Ultimate possession will head the other way.
Let's look at the scrum on the floor.
Great position defensively, John.
And you can look at Wesley.
They're the first on the floor.
That's one.
That's two.
There's three black jerseys in one white jerseys.
That's how you win a game.
Everyone calling for the basketball and calling for possession.
Those two alternate minutes a half in here in the championship are tied at two there with Booker thinking about driving baseline looking for the route pass inside intercepted Kayla Pointer thought about slowing it down inside jumper three shy of landing a game 20 showing how she's first with him on the basketball coming down the seam the open seat in the corner working looking inside spin the block on a hands in the air once again and the other way Walker Cosell on the big defense.
Hey, John, I like the way the whole unit is coming out.
They're showing a sense of passion, the sense of aggressiveness.
Their mindset is to put the pedal to the metal and hold Wesley and down as much as they can.
Corner landing jumper from the outside doesn't get much of the rim.
But an opportunity as Kayla Hubbard comes down with three pointer pointer off the end no tips and that comes Russell you don't have numbers set up all the time thinking about stops and starts drive into the paint for two and that'll look for Cory Booker.
Keep attacking, keep attacking Transition basketball, always attack the rim to sell the launch and three off the rim Natalie Armstrong coming down with it the sister and Marie making her name in the program BLOCK on the inside as Armstrong tried to drive it in to stay with the wolves.
It's the second block from Purcell on the inside.
Let's take a look at Erica's handiwork.
Yeah, just coming over to good teams, John Just battling for that championship ring.
I just looking inside three Holy Innocents bodies chasing after the basket.
I don't know.
But another opportunity for a nine registered all out of bounds and then try it again.
And, John, the beautiful thing that I'm liking is the tempo of the game.
I think it's conducive to success of both teams that play at this tempo.
Anything hip also with the nerves shot by register as long once again bodies on the floor.
Nicky McDonald Part of that scrum ultimate possession was on the whole one five, 3 minutes gone Girls dominate championship here from the Macon Coliseum on GPB five four holding unison totally innocent has had wrestling number three separate times this season three wins by a total of 18 points quick pass inside blocked and an inside another ultimate possession jump ball wrestling this time was a nice way to become coast to coast screen with a firm inside the zone just not able to finish it inside is great screen fantastic block Noni Thompkins with her hand in knees again we talked legacy's Nellie Thompkins, sister of Trey, who you kind of know from time to time.
Hey, yeah, he's a great player for us.
He has a new run this year Jumper.
Now once again, another opportunity for Western off the Rim offer to trying for a third chance blocked from behind and back from the innocence.
This game is a little out of control on the floor the first 4 minutes and we got a foul to John you can see the fight club team both teams really want to stay aggressive attack attacking RIM but also attack the ball loose ball loose ball who's on their first nice, gritty, good, solid basketball.
This is the way it should be played by Taylor Booker halfway through the first quarter, five 4 million since he has been inside the and with that we will call our first time out of the day 356 to go first quarter girls Double-A championship side in Erie Macon Wesleyan 12th straight appearance Holy innocents looking for a title when we come back on the great job who are those guys?
And tonight yeah I don't fancy business today.
Companies in the aerospace, advanced manufacturing and film industries need skilled workers and the earning potential is high.
Go, Bill George.

Macon Coliseum Macon Center Flex 356.
For the first year in the girls championship What have you seen in the first four of four tempo of the game?
John Temple In a championship game, there's no walking it up.
There's no soft segue man to man.
Two teams being aggressive, going after the basketball, going after a championship, Holy innocents trying to be undefeated.
You get west of here, John, trying to do something special and beat them at least one time.
The most important game of the season, Holy Essence, is Mr. Last four from the Field.
This is their second straight appearance played last year in the last game of the year against Southwest Atlanta Christian, the third straight final for 31 wins most in school history, bettering the squad from 9899 by one.
And they beat McEachern.
They beat Goose Creek out of South Carolina as part of their huge resume here in 20 1415.
Raven, what's going on on the sideline, guys?
I just peeped in to the Wesleyan huddle and the word in that huddle was strength.
Everything defensively, offensively, when they're off in support, Coach was just saying basically you need to go up strong, give them the fake and make the layup and get the foul And basically there you go, guys.
That's it.
That's the word.
Thank you very much.
Really being the eyes and ears of the last six shots, by the way, two of them in the first 4 minutes kick to the corner jumper missed everything going missing is coming back out.
Kayla Hubbard, not afraid to run the floor any of these players for holding this is nice drive missed the layup back comes Wesley fucking looking inside Armstrong left hand and in.
Hey again Jon Temple of Temple Temple box more run Let's get the rebound this outlet and when the big beat down the court now in a position to get an easy layup Jan Azar said Natalie Armstrong would be a deciding factor in this game.
She's got two on the board to give Wesleyan their first lead.
As we come up with 3 minutes to go, first quarter here from the Macon Coliseum, two points here feeling Booker missed everything from the near corner.
Once again, bodies on the floor out of bounds, looks like it's going to stay with USC off the last time and I think that's something going to focus on on the floor ball the hustle stats also stats that's important I think with both teams because again they played each other three times already, John, since six and two.
Remember that ten, six and two.
And that was a one point game here with 2 minutes and change in the first quarter.
Jamison Cable in for Westminster Maya register out for the time being missing a lot of hands in the air by holy innocence.
Does it matter The size of that dog is always hands in the air defensively.
Well, I got this from Coach Tubby Smith and this is Rick Pitino always said deflections, you want to average 40 deflections per game that's with for hands being active 4040 deflections a game exactly when you get for this going to miss Joseph the defense has been active with their hands and also with this Hello Booker working for three off the back of the rim but once again another chance for Wesleyan Keep an eye on second chance points and third chance points as we go in this game.
Rebounding edge at the first break was 94 for West Wesley for the Louisiana city long jumper from top of the key by cable now Armstrong right hand off the glass and in as he job got salt for him so you got to understand long shots Steve a couple soft wins Winston I'm going to give you late rebound opportunities and that's what Wilson is doing using their size, using their height and width to offensive rebound and the pretty move on the inside off the rim.
No good.
Armstrong fighting two golden bears underneath ball comes out they've got numbers if they want to do something with it cable thought about it but to pull it back 90 seconds and counting first quarter western up eight seven and holy innocents here cable jumper outside too much Oh Wilson's crashed the boards come back with the board heading the other way two on to one of the whistles on the inside This is that time James I thought it was all ball over the top.
It looks like they're going to call foul on Leslie.
It looks like it's K with Booker again.
That's her second Holy innocence has made one of their last eight from the field.
Yeah.
Some fans are discussing things with the officials and John again this one word it's tempo.
I love the way that both teams are challenging each other offensively and defensively, but this is a lead in both teams be competitive.
And so as right now we've got a one point game.
It's a good game.
First chance all these subtle influences on this subtle off the bench is their second leading rebound about seven votes again.
That's why King says she's as athletic as any kid I've ever coached, and she's already as a freshman.
One of the top soccer players in the country.
Janney's calls a quick 3040 chance to go over things with that Holy Innocents press and also, no less than I mentioned before, it's his third straight appearance in the last game of the year.
Tremendous.
What Jamnagar has been able to beat Penn State championship since 2002, and they've done it without one of their top players, McKayla Coombs, who's been out the entire year and is still being looked at by with John.
If you saw Coach Azar in that home, she didn't talk.
The one she talked to, she talked to the entire squad that was on the floor.
Again, she talks about emphasizes team, team, team.
Everyone has to play a part in our success tonight will take ten players in 30 minutes for the game.
Only an instance goes about register too much off the glass.
Armstrong wanted that rebound but it was fought for America.
Questions the innocence of innocence.
After landing the passing of the quarter bodies on the floor again, alternate possession stays with holy innocence.
If you watched this game at home and you're young basketball player, whether it's male or female, don't understand when you go for a championship, it's not about being perfect.
It's about getting down and dirty and doing the little things that make a big difference.
Getting on the floor for the loose ball, John, makes a big difference.
The selling point are out for Holy Innocents.
William Elmore, 23 year old, and also Rachel Martin, Number ten getting some times in the last minute of the quarter on the baseline hands in the passing lane.
Another turnover for Wesley John that was three deflections in that one possession that's what I'm saying He didn't get to 40 easily He could get move your hands and move more features more deflections are coming back the other way 15 seconds and count more hands in the passing lane.
It's almost like a tennis match as we reach 10 seconds.
Armstrong had it lost it 8 seconds can help him get off another shot landing, trying to drive 360, spin hard off the glass.
And that should do it for the border.
A back and forth.
First 8 minutes from the Macon Coliseum.
Three teams who know each other very well, Holy innocents leading Wesleyan as Wesleyan chases after another title.
His Holiness is Chasing after perfection in the second quarter.

Got to go to GHC State Basketball Championship weekend only on GPB Macon Center Plex, only in the Sun City Wesleyan 98 here in the Dr.
Elsewhere in the USA Basketball Championships in the making, Muncie on day two of three.
Hey John and you know you talk about stats huh?
It's not a good game.
Now, you may say both teams are shooting with 25 and 35%.
Right.
But it's just the energy is the passion.
It's a great flow of the game.
The officials, only three fouls in the first quarter.
That's a beautiful card game.
Instead of scoring a tight game, they're allowed to competitive teams come out here and compete and all of those personal fouls.
Given the lesson and since no fouls statement drives no good, Johnny Tompkins fighting for the rebound for Russell and coming back to Holy Innocents, great defense in the first quarter.
Hey, defense, Defense.
John, I talked about Coach Tubby Smith and his deflection, so I actually Cappie, you've got to have 40 a game to be successful in one possession.
You had three deflections.
That's great ball movement, but great hand-eye coordination and being in the right place at the right time on defense.
But fuck it up.
And in, for instance, on the way back down the field, their lead is now up to three.
At 11.
Once again, ball hits the floor, bodies chasing after it.
It's going to stay with Wesson by Jamison Cable on the inbounds and all the way back out working and register up high cable.
Looking to the inside Mooney Thompson's denied so the flash to Nicky McDonald left hand rolls off the front of the rim.
Tompkins going after it It looks like they're going to whistle her for the foul.
Yeah, that's a tough miss.
Great move at the half post with the shot fake and getting to the rim McDonald just missed a nice little teardrop layup again Holy innocence is holding the open now John eliminate that second chance scoring opportunity as a pass possession Great job just a nice simple layup but look at the fight That's what I'm talking about Zion Just pure solid basketball.
These girls are playing with so much heart and also they're leaving everything on the court today was given to knowing Thompkins.
It's her first.
So on the inside right now, you've got Natalie Armstrong at six three and Tony Thompkins at six four to try to counter that.
But holding this insurance to do in the paint that corner ward once again, hands in, passing lines coming back out.
It's Wesley and Maya register cable thought about it, pulled it back I just don't Armstrong out high this time Tatum inside gets it back looks for the three got it inside out basketball always the to get the wide open shot in tournaments on getting into the heart of the defense spending a little bit right recently I did 11 and up on 2 minutes going half second third time the Cavs pretty much what we would anticipate for these two teams and no other pretty house.
Yeah it was great job and this is defense done and nice kiss off the glass terrific margin back up two to register thought about doing that crossing over a lot of traffic in the paint keeping Harrison driving good the table talked about a pass to Thompkins on second on the flash registered hands again all over the basketball left hanging no rebound picked up after Purcell dangerous loop pass picked up by Hollins It's nice over the shoulder passing on steps really good point it came down to and so little flashes What we talked about to make just has to finish Cam was able to get a travel over the turnover little blind action here in an up and over pretty work call steps in the turnover six for holy innocents right now coming up on 3 minutes gone in the second quarter Armstrong blocked and attempted and Erica Casella and call her from the floor playing for last but what about the crystal ball Great move inside but Purcell scooted Brown in straight away.
She's been told as you look down the bridge, oh, she broke the plane.
Just a little bit of time for it.
Did It did.
Tony, she's got to go just straight up to the rim.
Slightly.
First free throw on the day for Russell.
Good for Neil Armstrong.
And a little over eight points a game, seven and a half for second place, go to half gasoline down one landing, looking inside.
Nice touch.
Touch it once again.
Hands in the air for deflections.
Hey, is step one smart with no reflexes?
Right before the first quarter ended, he's had at least six and it's nine deflections, John, within like a five minute span, Emily Armstrong will take the seat.
Nice left hand.
Too hard.
Kelly Evidence in for less than 34.
She was in on the crash but Nicole McDonald comes down with the rebound working try to go crosscourt hands in the air again cable gets it registered will reset to drive dish jumper rim no out of bounds stays with Wesson for the break Natalie Armstrong back to back and Edwards will sit at the five non sophomore table looking to inbound to go high hands in the air looking came down with it Tatum launching a long three off the rim doesn't get the second bounce or Houston's coming back in transition Nice behind the back right goes up inside first 20 minutes and this is great and she's crafty L.A. Iverson actually did a great job of slicing through the difference John.
A nice case off the glass and this is late now.
Three 5012 Looking to drive Pine-Sol front Armstrong thought about the right hand and once again, hands can be subtle, this time knocking it out of bounds.
Well, you talk about a goal stand and Wesson is showing you that.
Deflections, deflections, deflections.
I'm sure holy innocence.
They're trying to do the same thing.
We've got to touch the ball and be active on the defense to win this game for us this afternoon.
Kayla Pointer extending holy innocence lead to three 344 for the first half Holy Innocents leading Wesleyan in here Make it women.
So I'll be sitting in the car.

Macon Coliseum Macon Center Flex 344 for the first half here in the Girls Championship Holy Innocents leading Wesleyan by the score of 1512.
And by the way, be sure to catch up on these award winning nature series Georgia Outdoors, as host Sharon Collins explores the beauty of our state.
Catch Georgia outdoors only on GPB Fridays at 830 and look forward to a new episode that explores St Catherine's Island coming April 3rd.
Sharon Collins Videographer Shane can do some tremendous work on George outdoors Friday's and GPB for series on this quite a whole innocence really doing a great job of making baskets first quarter they were three for 12 now three for four right here the midway the second quarter.
So shows a little bit more pace on the offensive end and they're attacking the rim.
Wesleyan one of six in this quarter Kayla Hubbard right now with six four Holy Innocents Wesleyan from the field shooting five of 24 40.8%.
Once again, it goes back to what you're saying.
Hands in alleyways, hands and faces, hands up high.
A lot of deflections here to keep the tally.
Deflections long.
Three count it brown.
Hey, from way downtown Atlanta.
To me, that was a nice stroke from from the outside and subtle with the right counts in the tip of the game.
Starting pick back up for both teams in attack mode register.
Deflected Armstrong had it deflected again the foul common side landing the turf first and missing Armstrong with a lot to go leads back to one Sidney Long in Sean Blanding out for holy innocents second free throw by Armstrong ties it nice stroke as five points a few score John here in the last 30 seconds the three from the outside and to the charity stripe shows you how valuable she is towards this team.
Armstrong will sit in only Tomkins back in and substitute in 64463 working them for 511.
While he attempted a three missed everything became apparent.
And that's one of the few things that she's done wrong.
Something that's on again.
She's a sophomore, so that's okay.
She's going to make some of those mental mistakes that most juniors and seniors do not make, especially at the point guard, which is probably the most important position on the court.
You have a quarterback on the team, but I love it when he she plays.
She's kind of a special feature in The Knick in the years to come.
I talking shot when he Tompkins comes down with the board so Wesleyan will get the opportunity to reset Daniel Somers now and to the Wesleyan Maya register directing traffic way up high flirting setting the pick Nikki McDonnell he tried to go to the paint was denied back to register guarded by long fucking jumper doesn't get the wall Thompson's tried to come in over the top.
Oh, since coming down with the pointer.
Nice pass.
The subtle too hard follow doesn't count either.
They got a foul.
And one thing I can say about points only.
She's in transition.
She's always going to head up hornets on this level as she looks to pass first the way she's got a chance to slow to the basket.
She does.
She's one of those special special point guards that you really love, especially that uptempo game for people Too hard foul on a maya.
Her first initially, Wesleyan had four fouls in the first quarter and they've only had one since their first two.
As the numbers on Kayla Pointer reach and Player of the year second free throw off to the left over to those numbers as we go forward tied at 17 Coming up on 2 minutes to go first half Wesleyan and hallucinates playing for the fourth time this season in the last game of the year to this spot to decide the double championship on the girls in cut McDonald high off the glass and in does nice curl into the paint nice rainbow jump shot off the glass and Elam in the Southern conference next year making fun of Leslie and gets to lead it 1917.
Coming up on 90 seconds a lot of black jerseys in the paint preventing any access for wholly innocent steps that time by Taylor Pelicans seven turnovers for holy innocents and because corners not shoot the ball well you see West and John starting to sag I heard just a little bit and forcing her to play on the perimeter is making McDonald a nice girl into the paint So whenever you get the heart of the paint, Spencer gets a zone, you're going to get easy shots like that.
Great move, Great finish register.
It's working.
Looking the loop inside Intercepted by Rachel Morton for Holy Innocents and back on the Bears Fifth turnover for Leslie in their first quarter looking inside on strong denies corner tries the big teardrop It doesn't fall working coming back with it for Wesson under a minute first half I just thought about the drive decided against it Armstrong the hot hand and that's why hey she's inside out Earls and scores inside for a nice long after the jump hook John Crampton and Draymond from three nine in the quarter 13 of Wesley's 22 and their lead is now five long attempted at three off the back of the rim fucking comes down with it for Wesley in and aides are telling him I registered just to cool it It's like they're going to play one.
Guarding registered register walk the perimeter found a hole closed up quickly Nicky McDonald driving ball out of bounds Go back the other way with 3 seconds Daniel Summers and Ngoni Tomkins in Register Out and Armstrong and that's early Emerson's can do in 3 seconds long launch by pointer off the backboard no and Wesleyan went down on holy innocents in the second quarter and Wesleyan is now leading by five as the wolves are in their 12th consecutive championship game, chasing yet another title, Holy Innocents Chasing Perfection.
Holy Innocents missed their last five field goals we always see first hand.
And I said it just from the start.
It's always hard to beat a team four times in a row, especially a caliber team like we got here tonight with Wesley.
They got a really good basketball team.
They've been plagued by injuries, John, but they've got a really good team.
They're playing solid team defense and offensively they're working well together.
I know, Raven, you caught up with James.
Our quickly, what's the word, John?
I just want to get to the locker room.
And basically she said that they need to get big.
They need to be able to get the ball down to their big girls at the end.
They need to play better defense and they need to play more of their game and not such an emotional game right now.
All right, Raven, thank you very much.
Coming back on the flip side of the halftime show, catch up with Tony Watkins.
And I guess we've had a fantastic first half.

Time now to check out the Georgia EMC scoreboard.
We've got four state champions are going to be crowned today.
First off, it's the girls double eight game.
We're out the half Wesleyan Leading Holy Innocents, 22 to 17.
Coming up, about 445 today, The boys Double-A game.
It is Crawford County taking on Seminole County at 7:00 tonight the girls five a game Stephenson the only the cap county school remaining taking on Maze's lady raiders and at 845 the boys five a title game Brunswick and Altoona.

Areas of the field that are growing include cutting edge trades like robotics and industrial design.
It takes training and technical skills, but these jobs are available.
You can build your own career.
That's why industrial technology is our career play of the game.
This message is brought to you by the technical college system of Georgia.
Does it txt dot edu for more information?
All right.
We're at halftime of the very first game of the day, the girls double game between Wesleyan and Holy Innocents and don't go anywhere.
Sean Gordon, then Jon Nelson have highlights and stats from the first half coming your way, and then we're headed on to the second half of this title match Screaming Eagles Zip Line Canopy Adventures at Historic Banning Mills Holder of two Guinness World Records Lodging, Adventure History and Nature Conservancy, all just 45 minutes west of Atlanta.
And you really should a Oh, no, no, no, no.

But what do we really know about cancer?
Make no mistake, this is one of the most significant human challenges in our history.
Now more than ever, there is reason for hope.
When you look at what's going on with cancer right now, it's stunning.
Cancer.
The Emperor of All Maladies GHC State Basketball Championship Weekend only on GPB.
Welcome back Macon Coliseum Macon Cineplex getting ready for the third quarter here.
The girls championship wrestling up by five against totally innocent treatment Toronto with Tony Watkins coach definitely a passionate emotion game going out on the court what would you like to see to give you guys the edge.
Well early, in the first quarter, we we struggled hitting the hitting the defensive boards.
We fixed that, but they hit three threes with hands in their face on two of them.
And that's kind of the difference in the game right now?
All right, Coach.
And offensively, what would you like to see?
We got to attack.
We're not attacking very well right now.
All right, Coach, good luck.
All right.
You heard a John Song Golden, one of your two favorite words, attack mode.
I guess that's what we want to see from Holy Innocents in the second half.
Well, you can't play East west the any type of game, whether it's football or basketball, you have to be in attack mode 24 seven and especially the type of point guard they do have.
You've got to go down here.
And when they attack, they put pressure on the defense.
And now the offense has a better opportunity to score or even draw the foul.
So in attack, attack, attack in a smart way John.
All right.
Let's take a look at our halftime stand in front of us by our friends from West Georgia Technical College and Farm Bureau, Georgia.
What sticks out?
Well, Galligan, three point shooting, Wesleyan, 33%, only in the 16%.
But the one stat that's not being showed, John and think about this listen, this close, but they have five fouls.
Now.
The reason why I say they have five fouls, the whole innocence has to I like the way that whistles playing.
They play a lot more aggressive.
So because they do have five fouls, they're leading in that category, it shows they've been more aggressive on the defensive end, trying to make a big difference.
And also you look at the numbers for Wesleyan, only one player in double figures, that's Natalie Armstrong, four, seven from the floor.
Get both of her attempts from three.
She has 13.
No other player has more than three for Wesson.
Six players got in the books for Holy Innocents.
Kayla Hubbard leads them with six.
Let's see what Holy Innocents can do.
Steps, spin hands in the air.
Armstrong with the block.
Holy Innocents will try it again.
Intercepted once hands in the lane.
Lawrence Perkins coming out with it.
Wesley didn't have numbers high off the glass no good was very innocent to get another chance to start the third landing two Sidney Long missed the three and out of bounds.
Definitely not the shot that you wanted to hold in as it's coming out here in the second half, John But that defense possession by wizards on three Deflections real quickly out of the gate.
They've come in with the same mindset, the way they started the game register for him.
Nicky McDonald, Haywood Booker.
Natalie Armstrong five four.
Wesley To start the third down time register, Armstrong flashes empty space, created fake bodies in the inside, preventing a shot So working the try gets it in Even this was deflected my mind by slick long Yeah but patience on their offense John they didn't force the shot that enforced in simple they allowed the defense to make a mistake in the it capitalized and once the same opened up Sidney long and give and go right now Kayla pointer hits the floor all the whistle Russell and a701 right there what 2417 second foul on registered and since will try it again we go all the way back down toward mid fourth and a pointer guarded by register shot Blanding Hubbard long three attempt off to the right but once again long will pick it up thought about the three gave the pointer right hand then the guy called Sean John every possession down the court for holy innocents.
The shots they've taken have been threes.
Now the panic comes in the closing minutes and then you've got the point guard corner.
Now she's trying to force the play which resulted in a charge and a turnover.
32nd timeout called here each team now with four timeouts left as we get to the third and fourth quarter, the 45 and less easy is now seven at 2417.
And John go back to my team on the Keys I said about holy innocence first of all since 60 to understand the game did get fulsome the more times they played second ball.
Don't let this hang around.
A confident team is a scary team where he's playing with a lot of confidence.
A result up by seven points here in the fourth and Wesleyan.
They've been here before and before and before and before.
The Lions since last year lost the Southwest Atlanta Christian in a single time.
So this is old hat and old school for Jan Azar in the Wolves.
They know how to handle themselves in this situation.
Tony Watkins, as Bunch is getting their most wins in a year since 98, 99, when they had 3031.
This year and zero with the right hand.
The wind loss is definitely being challenged here today.
Ball checked out of bounds.
It'll stay with Wesson Will West and John just teams it they're all kids they say motion here they say Mason wheel what it does it allows continuity encourages movement and they're being patient now also looking for a good shot and they can do that with a 7.5 45 with the third McDonald's spin drive.
Once again, traffic in the paint stays bustling one more time.
I hope you're keeping their hustle stature and keeping your numbers here about hands and deflections low.
42 Wesleyan leads the hosts right here early in the third time.
So it shows you how much they're being more aggressive defensively.
Looks like it was deflected on the way up on the Armstrong three play in the sense with numbers two on one strip from behind Moore Furkan comes back with it for Wesleyan.
Well as we say that was a great pass there by the sophomore but just a little bit too much mustard on that hot dog.
But coming back on the offensive game with Wesley little bit over the head, both teams are playing zone with a little bit more, a little more faster than I think they need to play expect plays aggressive but be on to control on Perkins pass a little too much on it out of bounds coming back the other way Holy innocence has missed their last eight shots from the field Make it nine rebound Wesleyan McDonald In his career Booker fans all over the place Shai Blanding with the interception but they're going to call Booker for the foul running back that's going to be her third something to pay attention to what John Holahan says each time down the court outside of the transition shots, they've all been threes, everything's been on the perimeter.
And you heard it, coach, at halftime.
We've got attack Watkins Attack, attack, attack.
Right now, they're not in attack mode.
They're trying to build and get back in this league really quickly instead of taking the time as a lot of game, lot of time to be to be played at just under five for the third goal, Holy innocents down seven 2417 LeBron with the pass inside once again hands in the air doesn't touch the rim Wesley and coming back with it lurking McDonald working the perimeter on the drive foul as she's going past fouls listed on Taylor Hubbard in her first comeback she knew Thompkins Crosscourt freaking drive worked the right hand does off the front of the rim.
No, but once again, Wesley and another chance McDonald for the open three no off the rim and a lot of challenging going on and got another whistle Hey John you can see the tension starting to pick up You can hear the tension behind us on both teams and the supporters want their teams to, you know, get this championship game.
But right now, West and John look like they're winning the hustle stats.
Even a second chance rebound and they're going after they're taking the rebound.
They're tackling the game right now with a sense of urgency and a seven point advantage, even though their last field goal was almost 7 minutes ago, halfway point of the third long three off the rim, no back side rebound picked up that time Jason Cable did before him were in the offensive zone McDonald with it and Maya register whistle on west and we're going to send it back the other way a clear out on fucking and with 340 to go third quarter Wesleyan hasn't had a field goal in almost an entire quarter but their lead is seven over Holy Innocents in the championship.
More from him when we come back on the great GPB.
We should be seeing the Tear and Matty Schuster in a 30 this moment.
Getting here took three years of sleepless nights and postponed vacations.
Your dad said Play it safe.
Your husband kept the faith.
But franchising is why you partnered with Regions in the first place.
We share your vision for moving forward, and at moments like this, that makes all the difference.
Is your business at a turning point?
Regions Cineplex Holy Innocents as Mr. Last well shots and down seven with 340 to go in the third quarter here from the Macon Coliseum as we chase after the championship and Wesleyan something happened to them last year here in the Macon Coliseum for that really doesn't happen a lot.
They lost a big match up against Kendrick Early Action Wesleyan.
It was a back and forth game shots from the outside.
There's Nicky McDonald there draining the three.
But over time Kendrick would get to Duke over Wesley and Sterling Hicks and their bunch would send the Cherokees back to Columbus with a state title.
That was the 11th finals appearance in a row for Wesson that they would lose by 11.
So Kendrick would win in 2014, Wesleyan back here in 2015 to chase after another opportunity for a state title for that coach and that program.
And what she has done is something quite precocious and supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.
Wow.
She's done a fantastic job, John.
I'm telling you, You know, to get back to a championship win streak times, you got a chance to win the 11th, you know, that's hard to really obtain.
And she is the gold standard for girls basketball here in the state of Georgia.
And we've got a chance to actually win another one here up by seven here in the third big teardrop attempt there.
How was that for the hashtag word for the win?
Wow.
That was pretty good.
That was pretty good.
That was pretty good.
But you got to finish it out.
If it sounds good, if it sounds good choices, it offers doses.
Is that how it goes?
Sounds good enough to me.
I forget Balance shot Blanding.
That'll be her second lesson in NBA register.
This is coming up pressing that Nikki McDonnell big looping pass that was available in the paint didn't get it through it quickly did that time baseline too much from table Armstrong trying to do something as she was falling down falling down register comes up time the first person on the floor has the advantage Wesley is out hustling pull it in.
This is right now as we saw, there's been a chance to get a second chance opportunities for the basket.
And they're doing a great job of you got to loose balls.
Loose balls and deflections hustle that it will not show up in the book, but it'll show up on the scoreboard with the W Natalie Armstrong with 15 now and another turnover Wesley and up by nine as we're coming up on 240 to go third quarter cable thought about the three fake runner with the right hand no once again all these bodies in the inside looks like they're going to call Armstrong for going over the top in her second Armstrong.
John, she's just being in the right place.
She's been aggressive.
Yes.
And then over the back.
But I love her assertion, her mentality right now.
Right.
You only got 2 minutes and 36 seconds.
John left in third and a full fourth quarter.
I read that you foul out playing hard, then playing to be cute and purty and yeah, and you lose the game more fight with Wesley Holy Innocents has to pick up the intensity and Tomkins in Natalie Armstrong taking a see big high arching shot off the right hand Thompkins fighting for jousting on the inside.
Second Chance by Erica Purcell doesn't block cable open for the three.
She'll take in a whistle.
Have a foul on Wesley.
In that time, push in the paint.
Something called ngoni.
THOMPKINS We'll go back to Mrs. Thompkins.
Second time, 1014 for the third best.
James Reed is nine.
And quick swap out again.
THOMPKINS Out.
Adam Armstrong Looks like a 32nd time out is going to be called here.
So you kind of talk things over a little bit.
When we talk about legacies with Wesleyan seems to come in cycles.
We saw four of them on the roster.
There they are, Natalie Armstrong and Marie was a big part of it.
She went to Georgia Ngoni.
THOMPKINS We talked about her.
Trey Thompkins went to Georgia.
Lauren fucking Katie, her older sister town, the Plains, the loveliest village, and Bailey Edwards.
You've seen her a little bit in the game.
Savannah Edwards is her older sister, and she's now a mad hatter.
And John has talked about understanding the basketball game where you are right now.
This good thousand is bad, but there's good fouls.
And good fouls are the ones where you aggressively being in position.
You block and now you're going to scrappy, going after a loose ball.
Those are good fouls.
You take those bad fouls and those that you act about, you're just reacting because you made a turnover or you missed a shot.
And right now the fouls or the half of aggression, the good fouls, the defensive back give up uncontested layups.
Kayla Hubbard with the two in the other hand for another deflection and another turnover Blanding went for it and they call the foul and that's the kind of pressure Tony Watkins was looking for like the one to dial up the wick a little bit.
But John, he didn't start it off, miss.
It started with defense.
Their defense.
You've got to defend you got to be aggressive defensively to make the offense work.
Second quarter field goal numbers holy innocence oh for eight missed the free throw there Wesley hitting two of ten out of three of five from the free throw line in the game Armstrong will sit Terrell Booker back in right three for good puts it to six at 2624 under 2 minutes Holiness he's pressuring off the made bucket is it turnover numbers that's now on those 12 to 10 but it has turned back over 13 to 10 Turnover battle shot was missed holy innocents coming down the floor more hands in the air big runner no good call up clock on Wesley and on the drive John within the 30 seconds playing defensively Oh goodness it's took it to another level now they've equaled themselves up to six deflections just with playing aggressive and they're scoring off of their defense.
I thought that was a questionable call from the deep.
It was a little late, but still Holy Innocents do things, John.
This allowed them to get the momentum they need to be successful in this game.
Taylor Pointer missed the first free throw.
So back in the game.
Kennedy subtle.
Sidney Long will sit second free throw by pointer good margin to five at 98 seconds out of bounds.
Once again more pressure from holy innocents and the student body getting involved.
They can sense that holy innocence is getting into an urgent well understanding the game of basketball, playing with energy and passion, playing good defense wins championships.
It's not the offense that wins you championships.
Offense wins games, but defense wins championships.
And that's what we're talking about.
Good defense possession, taking the charge, and now the momentum shifts back to West and Kayla Hubbard on the drive comes with a chance that time.
Let's take a look at it.
Pass pass thought about it Here's your drive good close out Great position great shot blocker takes it 80 seconds for the third Wesleyan now starting to get an offensive possession here and it looks like they're going to call Shai Blanding again for reaching this career.
Booker trying to drive past third side landing something to pay attention to his back, looking to register, hammer to drive kicks it back.
Booker drives splits the double team off the rim no good stolen back off the pass high off the window No bodies chasing that call Alternate possession stays with Wesleyan and young up by five points under a minute to go probably you got a second chance shot have to be smart here the former playing hard play smart look play together One of those things you've got to choose this one.
You have to have at that time, play smart.
Take your time.
Time.
Play at the end zone.
5 seconds.
Booker looking to drive baseline Furkan calling forward on the perimeter finally gets it the foul in the paint the 32.7 on Caleb going in for that one that's his second reach in the officials here Bill Lewis Chrystal Brown and Lance Walker are the ones making calls for us today.
Easy inbounds was seen walking the perimeter table thought about the three McDonald working calling forward on the inside finally gets it outside 30 seconds for the third bodies on the floor ultimate possession holy innocents the fight that Wesleyan is absorbing from holy innocents Holy innocents.
And now they're in attack mode.
Look at it.
Good defense.
Just be careless with the ball, striking, trying to get down.
But it's really tough when you got aggressive defense and Cassel just doing a great job being active with their hands and also 15 seconds left third quarter holy innocents down five jumper for long three off the rim no smoking fighting for the rebound a lot of bodies chasing after it Kaleena Suns gets another chance Jumper good match close out the third and it does Wesley hands big lead cut in half at the end of 24 minutes Holy innocents chasing perfection only down three Wesleyan in their 12th title game at a seven point advantage You got to cut five four So class double championship.
We've got 8 minutes to figure it out.
There's Holy Innocence Day.
Perfect.
Does Wesleyan get another?
The answer when we come back on GPB.

8 minutes to go to decide the Girls Championship.
Wesleyan Leading Holy Innocents by the score of 26 to 23 this April, Georgia Public Broadcasting will premiere American Experience.
Last days.
Vietnam.
This multi-award winning nominated production is riveting, wrenching to leave you wondering why did I not know more about this one, this American experience last days in Vietnam and Tuesday, the 28th on the great GPB rave in Toronto?
What's up?
As we head to the four guys I was just in with a huddle with Coach Watkins, a man.
Is he getting the girls fired up?
His first when he got into the huddle was, do you guys want this?
And everyone yelled, Yeah.
After that he starts giving the game plan.
They're going three high, they're going to move the ball.
And he says, No fouls play good, solid defense.
Thank you very much, Raymond.
I talked to John Coon, who is play by play for Everything Vidalia, and he gave me a bit of a scouting report on Holy Innocents.
He that they can hold Cassel to under 20.
That would be one of the big keys in this ballgame right now she has only two I think the decimal point over five spot so we start the final 8 minutes Jumper Booker No all the innocence came down with the rebound bodies on the floor.
It looks like the Golden Bears just start off with Jojo.
I'm going to go back to my former playing hard, playing smart and playing together.
I think both teams are now playing hard.
What teams don't play the smartest here down the stretch.
Smart teams, free throws and turnovers are going to give, going to make or break.
Here's this championship.
A lot of hands high, a lot action.
He's going to stay with less than four sets of hands chasing after the basketball on multiple occasions stays with the wolves for 37 seconds in.
But it's going to have to be inbound it in a very difficult place in a corner go long touchdown pass Booker had working takes it himself No talking with the follow on a foul barking just being in the right place at the right time John that's the way he attack first versus a full court press.
You can't try to be passive with the with he's where she got to go north south great move to the basket working in great position.
She's got to be strong enough to finish that they needed the three point play in that situation.
More importantly out of that situation.
Blanding picking up her fourth foul on John the half here.
My notes and I start here in the fourth quarter the two things are going to make this this game free throws and turnovers the team that hits the free throws has the least turnovers.
They're going to be the ones to put down this.
See how accurate the man will be if he gets the last 717 something four rims around and down in the leaders for Sidney long guarded by Booker Taylor pointer loop inside right hand to Hart registered out of control a little bit double team in the corner hands up high and Sidney Long was overaggressive aggressive things got a check the water from the eyes after that straight the reason it's the first foul on long to go with her four points learned Furkan goes back to the line.
Here's your officials Crystal Brown and official Bill Lewis and Lance Walker.
They're the ones calling it force today.
One and one opportunity now for Wesley Harris comes up a man free throws in turnover.
John, we're going to talk about this for the next six plus minutes.
Free throws and turnovers and how difficult is it for a free throw shooter and you dominant hand in your last two fingers?
You take back a lot of guys take a shot he throws in three battle so it's more mental and physical it's momentum we've made them both 2923 minute ten into the fourth Wesleyan chasing after another trophy for the trophy case.
Holy innocents chasing after perfection.
Bounce pass inside, guarded by Armstrong off the window No and a foul as Gasol drove to the inside and see if I'm whistling because Armstrong has it such a nice move I would probably spot her now in the post John don't play around because now the officials have a chance to either make a break you earn that foul call and now I think she has four she's got to come out the game and Tony Tomkins will come in.
That's the free throw in the instance, four for nine from the line.
Tomkins in Armstrong sits with 15 of the 29 bounce pass by looking dangerous once again hands knocked out of bounds by Kayla Bone stays with Wesley A lot of folks looking for a big upside from California.
Looks like they're going to call her for the foul on the blow by police in 34146, six and eight.
So registered on the line now shooting one more now on potential third.
And John, this three point turnaround only answers you miss your two down here whistling you're capitalized and that's a three point turnaround That's why it's a free throw from turnovers are going to be key here down the stretch 0.5 landing back in with four fouls for Holy Innocents Alley Moore gets a sit after a quick appearance block by Ngoni Tomkins on the Inside Holy Innocents will try it again landing to create up high like the fight down low like the fight down low.
But you've got to do a better job of running the post.
Call the basket good and the foul looks like they'll call it on Nicky McDonald in her second.
When you hear Coach Walker is talking about John Attack, attack, attack they've been settling for an outside shot of versus that zone got into the team coming into the heart of the zone have a chance to pick up the three point play free throw wide right but holy innocence comes back with an errant pass in the corner long looking for an outlet gets one in Blanding and steps two things gun mystery throw turnover mystery throw turnover is a consistent thing when it comes to winning a game, especially a championship.
You've got to hit two free throws and you have to protect the ball.
There's a turnover, totally innocent at seven in the third quarter, at seven in the first half, seven in the third quarter to give them 14 leads, six under 6 minutes to go to regulation.
Booker in Blanding Blanding playing for you see if I'm whistling I'm going back to my motion wheel That's some of the action right there to the basket, just missing the layups.
Let's see the hole in the system.
Do something aggressive in transition.
Campbell Chasing Blanding.
Blanding missed the shot, looked like it was redirected and trying to get past those cable and cable.
BOOKER he comes down with it now for Wesley Register Cable, Open the perimeter.
Tough defense by holy Innocents.
Wesley in from the field only made one of their last 30 block of high and a great block download great block down low Cassidy's in the great job of respecting the shot now allowing the easy the basket is the drive This just with the block.
There's a great job to get a quick three then come back in the game.
John fourth block for Purcell and she came in with a windmill that time.
She knew exactly what she was doing all the way.
Big Teardrop would register her half.
Now the heart of the defense opens up and Wesley able to get in there for a nice teardrop layup up and over miss one and done for Holly trying for the interception quick cable available crosscourt instead nicked Nicky McDonald intercepted long for holy innocence looking for help hands again Hey Booker registered one on three and will slow it down as we come under four and a half to go regulation register looking for someone to pass it to think it was working much needed dead ball for both coaches get some organization on the shot and maybe one of them called a timeout even.
Do you have the media?
So you have a media coming up, John Sometimes it's good to call in extra time now to give that extra rest and coach the team a little bit more hands right there.
Exactly.
Deflections, very important free throws and turnovers.
One thing for us in terms of I know you got your hash marks working overtime long jumper off the rim no working had it deflected two on one advantage ripping the basketball from it possession stays with holy innocents a 411 to go to regulation and see that's a rush shot you hear me talk about this all broadcast long a bad shot is equivalent to the turnover.
John.
You do not need those ill advised shots.
No quick shots from 25 feet out and from the halfway point long thinks about the three to take the three short off the rim.
Leslie comes out with it.
Now, halfway home here in the fourth quarter, Wesleyan up eight 3325 jumper, a high count it looking McDonald ended up on the bench but the lead is now 11 plays and not a shot you want it but the shot you take again a bad shot John Spain same thing here.
Free throws, a set of free throws and turnovers John with stick with a free throws and turnovers.
That's not that good pass.
Nice shot.
Good contact there in the box out.
A foul call on Kayla Hubbard and we will take a break 346 to go regulation starting to distance themselves from holy innocents as they chase another title.
Here's your standings right now in the region.
Holy Innocents knocking off Wesleyan, Wesleyan 24 and seven on the year Only the Innocents at 12 are now running the table.
30 want to know what their region schedule and their non region schedule that Coach Watkins said he thought he would schedule a couple of really rough ones in there that he thought might be losses.
Turned out they weren't losses yeah yeah.
I mean to be 31 to no at this point John screw those that team but I read that you beat me three times a year in the regular season and region and me beat you that one time here in the state championship and that's all it is.
I want the most important win and that's the final game of the season.
Those three numbers you came up with ten, six and two over the last 1 to 2 pointer foul was called with 4/10 of a second to go because the point guard for West and at the time looked up at the scoreboard and scoreboard was a number off and thought she needed the foul instead the game should have been tied at 41 Holy Innocents makes the two free throws to win.
4341 again.
Hey John, my keys.
The second one here for Holy Innocence.
Do not let Wesleyan hang around.
A confident team is a scary team Right now.
West is playing with a lot of confidence.
Touchdown pass was wide open all the way back, landing, playing with four, something you pay attention to.
I thought about the three.
All right.
Great defense by West and great defense by West and that's all jump ball stays with Wesley going down fourth quarter free throw numbers.
Leslie in five of six Holy Innocents over three.
And so far, your field goal numbers.
Leslie in two of three Olsen's one nine deflection defense mean guys just being in the right place at the right time you've got to be an athletic stance and you've got to capitalize.
The attack was great and allowed all units to get back in the game utilizing their press to sell with hands in the alley gets the deflection in the easy two to make it 3627 coming up on three to go Lawrence working easy too on the backside Well again to attack the press zone you got to start with the pass first and the dribble second.
You get into open court.
That's when you get to the rim and it's working, catching the pass, making McDonald will look nice two on one basketball easy simple place they want to make him create it simple bounce pass striking it the nice to foul called on camera Booker her fourth in free throws and turnovers in free throws and turnovers making some of that free throws and turnovers.
You have to make your free throws down the stretch and you have to have a lot more focus on protecting the basketball.
Chances are calls a 30 was an 11 point lead at the 302 mark.
Now let's go back two years and let you know what happened to Wesley.
And then there's Janney's earned.
She looks familiar.
Laney, you'll seeing tomorrow with Otis Smart.
And that group was on time.
They did the same thing here they're doing now.
This is about her coaching staff on the floor for loose Ball.
Look at it on the floor for loose ball they win.
It's no there's no secret to her success, John.
This is hard work.
You get out there and do the little things.
That's what helps make a championship program, do the little things.
Hard work, hustle.
Linda Wholesome steps, you'll win championships.
So what you're saying is we could just swap out the year and we're seeing the same things over and over again.
That's because championship programs have something in common that each and every team does.
Her teams play hard, they play smart and they play together.
Those three things.
Adam They just are working their way down the far sideline and Booker puts the shot up.
It doesn't fall, but a foul will be called on Kayla Pointer and that's her full zone.
We haven't talked about one specific person all night long and that's registered my registered four team right fresh and everybody's talking about a corner corner point.
She only has one time and for the night she's breaking the press.
She's doing a lot of things on the court.
I'm loving watching her Walk the Street And will this team look at this?
Everybody's going to her.
Everybody's going to her.
It's most personal on the court, John, but she's got the biggest volume to love, the way she's playing five three freshman point guard.
So she'll be around for a while as a fourth quarter free throw number.
Totally innocence, one of five less than getting a important but convincing.
So we're back to an 11 point advantage with under three to go three free throws and turnovers Free throws and turnovers.
Exactly.
You have to capitalize eyes on mistakes but you cannot take the ball.
You have to hit those three things and take advantage of the turnovers.
Three point off the rim Cable boxing out for Wesleyan and here comes registered see how smart she is going.
She's not going to set the tone for the Mike Vick deflection here by Holy Innocents, but great hustle play right, Hustle, play.
I mean, you know, Kevin just doing a great job forcing and make the shot from the free throw line, not giving him the lay layup.
Let's take a look at it.
Look at that.
As long as your hustle from cable, Hey, that's the way they play in practice every day.
And escudos and the coaching staff there at West End it's her first long to the line misses the free throw landing will sit there milord comes in 23 very subtle in as well Second free throws It's again press off the make basket and a timeout called smart.
Play smart, Play hard, play hard, Play smart and play the game smart time.
But that's okay.
It's not going to make a break because you get the ball here.
The message on take the time, protect the basketball.
This is a fall.
And coming up next, it is Roberta versus Donaldsonville or Knoxville Donaldsonville, depending on your perspective, Crawford County and Seminole County and the boys class to a final.
You go driving through Roberta and there are signs everywhere on the Eagles watch we're winning right now Georgia eight.
It's coming up next in the class to a final and after that the 5a58 girls it's Mayes and Stevenson, five boys, Altoona, Tuna and Brunswick, both of them chasing after their first titles.
And if you think about five eights, not in the five Big Boys championship game that we're used to seeing.
That's probably the bigger story.
Yeah, yeah.
Or one B with the two squads chasing after their first.
Yeah.
Miller Grove is not here, but that's fine.
I mean, Sherman White has done a phenomenal job they've done with that Miller Growth program and he's put them on a national stage.
They'll be back.
But it's just one of those years you can't win a championship looking to be here every year.
It's not how you start, it's how you finish.
And that program has a long, long way.
Go and the cap county as well, too, and we'll talk about that going into amazing Stevenson game Wesleyan up 10 to 35 to go regulation press off the basket off the timeout as well trying to get a ten second call along with a deflection turnover into the paint bounce one too many passes no good one fucking coming out with it for Nicky McDonald wide open Armstrong the easy to deflections missing the point way to the upside down John is really tough It's really hard 17 points for Armstrong Here's the last two and you always got to have somebody back.
John Even though there was a scrum going on, you always have got to have somebody back to protect the back court and corner get caught up in the squirm.
Nobody was able to take the back court.
Let's talk about what else is going on in Georgia.
Public broadcasting, more drama.
Sunday's missing Downton Abbey, an airball already.
Sunday nights are still drama nights on GPB.
With more of the puzzle, an intriguing mystery.
You've come to expect it.
Your drama fix Sunday nights on GPB has a lot of drama shows on, and that's a pretty good one right there.
Downton Abbey.
It's a lot of good work that's done by the folks on the national level, on the international level.
And you see it right here on Georgia Public Broadcasting is in Japanese.
Are you big German?
You big German guy, soap operas, General Hospital.
I'm missing Dallas, man.
I know.
I miss it.
I'm missing Dallas, Matt and J.R.
But my favorite one, John, is the Godfather.
I'm a Godfather guy.
Every time I try to get out, they pull me back and I'm Mr. Mafia wasn't Godfather son Joe.
So maybe you're saying I should give you an offer that you can refuse?
Not to say, Freddo.
I know it was you, Father.
I love you.
You're my only brother.
Return to your regularly scheduled program here.
Holy Innocents started seven of 17 from the floor.
They are four of 29 since two of 13 in the fourth quarter.
And so the loss of Joe the his own packet in the end deep I hands that's okay that's okay there was no fouls to commit to sell it to the west and now just protect the basketball spread it out this solid cash register.
You should be holding onto it a lot in the next 100 seconds.
Foul up.
See where it's going here?
It's going to go to Sidney Long.
That'll be her second 101 seconds to go.
Regulation Holy Innocence has been the story in all year.
Running the table 31 No Wesleyan and Holy Innocent played each other three times this year.
Holy Innocents won.
And as we pointed out in the open, Sean Golden did his math first win by ten, second win by six region tournament was two second free throw good the margin back to 11.
So what can Holy Innocents do in the last 95 seconds, starting with a long three figuratively, literally Wesleyan coming out with it.
Nikki McDonnell, Cory Booker telling her to slow it down and pull it back out.
The crossover on the floor, the janney's or get the timeout called first.
I think the foul was called first by James Azar's.
You understand?
Hey, we don't need turnovers right now Let me go him burn a timeout if I need but they'll take the foul in the free throws that come with it now on Kayla Hubbard for fourth Victor McDonald to the line It's the first one shot in the Super six in Gwinnett County after McDonald misses the second averaging about 17 and ten this year.
So she has six long three missed shot in the paint no Armstrong chasing after the rebound with Blanding on the floor everyone on the floor register comes out with the hit to a minute done exactly what we're talking about.
It doesn't matter wait here it is this vicinity and know what it takes to me getting on the floor from these balls.
You talked about since day one.
This club is broken.
Big time Wisdom has won.
The hustle starts to get balanced.
Sidney Long will be her third registered of the line shooting too.
And every coach, if you watching this game you don't look at the school, but look at the way they won the game.
You got to look at hustle steps.
He's got to look at free throws the way she's demanded amongst these young girls.
You play as a team, you play hard, you play someone together.
Good things will happen to injuries cause chances are to do things a little differently.
This year.
Result is playing in the final game of the season.
Holy Innocents after a hot first quarter has gone cold, The Wesleyan defense playing a big part of that come down the 40 seconds, wrestling leading by 14 right hand runner, no save only this long, a long three off the backboard.
Nikki McDonald coming down with it.
Purcell trying to foul it The register to come up the 20 seconds and Dustin's going to add another trophy to the case Michael McDonald dribbling off the clock June ten six and two and it's a 14 point game.
Wesley And congratulations.
You said it was hard to beat somebody four times in a year.
Western wins the fourth match up and gets the double eight tonight.
Jan Air said Being an underdog or being in the underdog role, it's for us.
It reminded us to have a good time to enjoy the process, and Wesleyan enjoyed the process to the point of adding another state championship to the resume.
John One of the things I've said in my coaching career, the road that you travel determines the value of the prize.
The harder road, the higher the values of the prize and the prize today of the championship with this team, what they've experienced with injuries is very special for that team, that program at our Western school.
When we come back, we will see Jan Azar and Wesleyan get another trophy and take it back.
Took Gwinnett County Wesleyan, your girls double champs, The trophy presentation with Mark Harmon when we come back on GPB round, the GHC basketball championships are made possible in part by Regions Bank.

Coaches are graduations are your state championship.
Great season, great game.
Your team played extremely well.
Congratulations.
Thank you.
Coach Jan, you got your team behind you here.
Number 11 ties, Taylor County for the most talk about reaching this historic milestone.
You know, it's a great milestone, but I want to focus on this team state championship.
They did so much this season, they persevered and they always believed that they would win.
So I want to focus on just this one for them because they deserve it.
I'm really proud of them.
You know, your team this year had to overcome a lot of adversity, an awful lot of injuries.
And at the end in the march to Macon, you're raising the trophy.
Well, we're excited about that.
I'm proud of our seniors and all the other girls, and I'm just excited for them.
All right.
Let's see if we got a couple other seniors here.
Talk about what this means to you winning this championship of your senior season.
Oh, it's great.
Like, we came in here last year.
We lost and the runner up last year and coming back with the win this year is a great feeling.
It's really an indescribable joy.
One sided.
Our.
I just I'm speechless right now.
Lauren, you're the other senior here.
Talk a little about what it means to you.
Obviously a disappointment last year.
Does it make it that much sweeter to go out your senior year as state champion?
Oh, definitely.
I mean, last year kind of left a sour taste in our mouth.
And ever since we were in the locker room after that game, we wanted to be back here in this game this year.
And we're just ready to come out and play hard and leave everything on the line for our seniors, finish out our career strong.
So it's it's awesome.
Mike Thomas These hats are sweet.
Look at these state champions.
Congratulations to the West winners.
11 State champions.
Congratulations.
This year's double AA girls state champs.
