It is the class triple A boys championship between the red jackets and dirt and coming in at 25 and six and the East Hall Vikings coming in with a 24 game win streak with a record of 30 and one.
Good evening, everyone, from the Cherry Blossom Center of the state of Georgia, the basketball center of the state of Georgia tonight for one last game.
It is championship number 11 of 11 East Hall in Jordan.
And calling the action two guys who are just extraordinarily tall and are have been our front players and our post players this entire time.
Let's send it downstairs for a preview.
With Herb White and Titanic.
We've shrunk a little over the years, but thanks so much to Clyde tonight, along with my partner, Herb White.
And right now at East Hall, they're saying, repeat after me, Repeat after me.
The girls 20 minutes ago won their state title.
Now the boys will try to do it.
It's Jordan against Hall.
And I think this might be the only time we've ever said this Herb with Jordan.
It's three yards and a cloud of dust.
That's probably true.
I'm not following you, but it's late anyhow.
It's going to be a great ball game.
And let's take a look right here at Jordan's Terrence Hill, 20.5 points a game.
He could do a little bit of everything.
He says He's the guy that likes to take the big shot when it counts.
Now they're going to need a lot of contributions from other folks tonight.
There's not one guy that can take down East Hall.
If you look at the starting five, a balanced starting five again with some good senior leadership there.
But this team is one to keep in mind because as you see, they have a lot of folks coming back now with East Hall.
I should have said three yards and a cloud of dust.
There you go.
Cause there you go.
There's your football player.
And as a grad of Georgia, tell me all about him.
Well, I hope he doesn't have he's not as good as they say he is because it's really going to make me feel bad.
He's 25 points a game, nine and a half rebounds, signed with Georgia in basketball, decided he wanted to play football.
But he's a guy that can do it all.
He's got a great leaper and he's got a good cast around him.
And as you look at this balanced team with some good size inside, you say they put the pressure all over the court all the time.
That's what we look for.
He's tall.
Is one three state championships since 2001.
And every one of them, they went on with that great defensive pressure.
But you talk we've talked about Manchester before, but he's tall, has been doing this for years and they really know how to do it.
Well, it's our pleasure as always.
The last five or six years to bring you the last game of what has been a sensational high school playoff.
It should be the same for our final game.
Triple play action.
He's tall.
We'll go against Jordan.
Let's meet the starting lineups.
Good.
230 and one dressed in white as your home team.
May I have your attention for the starting lineups?
First for Jordan.
Try to go a lot of good at guard number ten five foot seven junior win front of the gun May 11 the six foot one Jordan parents feel at center for 15 a six foot two junior Joshua one forward 24 six foot three junior Steve Peterson head forward 31 six foot three Senior Clint Brown and Jordan's head coach Gerald Turner.
And now for you, he's tall Viking at guard number four, a six foot junior, Trevor Bishop at guard for 14 six foot one senior AJ Jackson at forward number 42, six foot two, senior at one foot at center number 34, a six foot five junior hitting one at 32, a six foot five senior Walter Hill and his pose, head coach Joseph Dix from defense.
Please stand by.
The last the final, final, what a matchup it should be for his triple state high school finals.

triple-A State Finals against the stall.
Let's go courtside with Gerald to see what's happening there.
Gerald Hey, student, This may look like a basketball court, but don't be fooled.
You ready for a track meet?
Both teams like to get out in ruin.
I talked to Coach Dixon before the game, and he says they're going to apply a lot of pressure and push the ball.
Coach Turner for Jordan is also the track coach, and he actually gets out and pushes the ball as well.
He runs baseline the baseline 20 times and each practice and he says he's going to run, run and run some more.
So still we should get ready for an exciting game to wrap up championship weekend.
All right, Gerald, we're ready for a running and gun game.
And I should mention that this whole had to go to overtime.
These are young kids.
Does that matter at all?
Well, maybe so, because there's a quick basket out of the shoot off the court.
Look like almost a design play as Jordan goes up, a tear itself, getting the first to go.
I haven't called a game this weekend that hadn't gone down to the last possessions.
Do I change it now?
Absolutely.
Sensational.
High school finals for the most part.
And Jordan back in his zone.
And there's the shot.
And there's the guy.
Well, Walter Hill looks like a great athlete of the year, as we mentioned, going to Georgia on a football scholarship.
Up and down we go.
This is how it's going to go here with the jumper first to center.
This is going to be fun way outside off the rim.
And there it is.
He's for control, trying to get to the right and the jam.
And there you see it, Walter Hill with the first two hits for this.
His whole team.
I think Coach Rich should reconsider down in Athens as well to play basketball.
Steve Pearson hits in the first one and this might lose the game that is a hot start for both teams.
He's hall there you see it.
Wow.
Hill With the first two three hooks for he's averaging 24 points a game.
Yeah, Jordan's going to have to tighten up the defense.
Walter Hill's got a 50 if they don't get some help on him and this one's going to be big as far as how does Jordan Jordan handle the pressure?
They start turning it over.
He's tall.
He's going to score a lot of points to average 85 a game on the regular season.
Well, here's some strength.
And watch this.
Up and down he goes.
Well, Hill can get up there.
I'll tell you what.
I see why you want him to play for the Georgia basketball team.
He is a player back in his own for his whole journey, trying to work it around patiently as the pace has slowed down just a bit.
But it was off to a furious start, the rebound by Hill and the other way we shall go or really turnovers nice behind the back pass he's that and very well done as pops gets it for sure Nifty ball handling by crouch good vision he's trying to go back to back in back to back games and win state titles The girl wonders about 3 minutes to go with the inside.
You see, he's tall with some patience.
just a true self defense.
Right down.
they're going now, man.
They came out looking at Jordan's, got him off the hill one on one.
That's a tough assignment.
It looks like he might even deserve it.
A little like a little.
The box, a little bit of was a jerk trying to go on the break.
Nice move.
Get out there at all times.
You're good with the basket for JR.
He's going to give up about four or five inches to Walter Hill.
He's backed up now at this pace, you stagger back here, look for the rebound and it will be Jordan's ball.
Watch him on the knee jerk on defense giving a tremendous amount of help on hill and one up there stepping off just to get a double team George.
And not a bad welcome there either in 20 years or to see the full court pressure but he's tall now man to man as you said it's going to be up and down.
He's tall, likes to press, likes to run third.
Not with easy hook, no good.
The captain who was called Steve Peterson.
Good work by Jordan.
They got the ball up.
Three nice passes and the layup inside, but they're still 214 so passes and gives it up and there is the turnover Great help and defense they triple teams it made him give it up man came down the lane drifted off Jordan made the adjustment forced the turnover just to go inside ready for final hurdle here but he his triple he's tall against Jordan there's the pressure about you saw it you saw their move long jump shot could be three is it off the rim and the rebound goes He falls way too loose long three pointer not to do follow a foul Is it a challenge with his absence Of course.
Is Gardner the junior six for what you here for?
Jordan steps in to take the charge.
Let's see right here.
Good call by the official giving up his body.
Six decisions this time.
You see this all night?
The pace, the crowd.
So they want to keep the first legs out there.
Jordan at Zone Press now.
And this will tell you something about Hill.
He's at the point that's when you keep your best effort always comes up in just 10 seconds good pressure and it works and there's the turnover halfway through the first quarter.
Coach takes what success he has had it.
He saw this career winning 94% of his games as a head coach.
And we have to mention, anytime you talk about his tile set finding who is it, he's tall forever and ever, put a lot of put a lot of trophies in their trophy case over the years just underway Jordan up on he saw 12 seven.
We're back in a moment after this.

Welcome back to the boys triple-A State finals.
German authorities thought 12 to 7.
Should they win, they will be the first Columbus team.
Jurgen will not play to win a title since Carver back in 1971.
Wow.
Long drought for the Columbus teams and a tough one to get five straight trips to the semis for East Hall and again, three state title since 2000 when they went up to triple-A in 2005, won it.
Then after they stepped up a classification.
Lot of talent all this team deep and we've been impressed by both squads.
He saw Illinois setting it up looking at an eight to here he's been double and triple team and there's what do you expect out of a wide receiver Sterling next takes it out puts it in that by Kenneth Wise six five He had to put a good inside and outside game with wise and hill those two pressure by you saw Jordan breaks it goes to the hook but behind it and that was tough tennis wise heat for six but guy can handle the ball outside his wise looking inside out to hill for just downhill the hawks they're going to have to have some help on him when they triple team two and maybe give it up before work.
Nobody can stop him one on one.
He's going to stay out.
Here comes Jordan up.
And during the break, you add pressure very nicely.
There was Quintin Couch Crouch with his third win for diving.
The little point guard.
He's almost too quick to trap Tough on the pass over, but he's driven through the East Hall press right now.
Terrence Hill, just a little too physical out of the point.
So the is going to him.
He can keep beating that pressure.
They're going to have three on one, three on two all day against his own man.
We call it the alley oop to hill underneath.
Nice pass Touchdown Just drives the easy all.
Yeah there's that pressure against George So far so good for Jordan.
Great The pressure goes behind the back Nice up nice in the offensive tackle but a little razzle dazzle five right there But he Walter Hill, a great athlete he went around like he was a post quick on quick for that little guy obviously a junior five seven but like he said he can handle the ball.
He's tall setting it up a little more delivered this time down to jumpers up jumpers no good as he throws it up and misses those over the back.
He's told.
I thought they got it was like all right so during the control has the ball on the plus all the way.
We've had some great officiating at these games this weekend.
I mean the pace of the game officials done a great job.
Now they have to do with the turnover here comes he's trying to keep that pace to give credit they're all back on defense inside big wise up off the board got to do and Jordan with control just a couple of minutes left in this first quarter triple play action to play tech Herb White our pleasure to be bringing you the state final and what a finals we have had.
It seems like we say it every year.
But Herb again, this year, some unbelievable talent and some unbelievable finishes.
Yeah, I mean, every game has gone down that I've called this.
This makes the fourth game.
I've called it the boys basketball and every game has gone to the last possession.
Just unbelievable.
Unbelievable.
And not just close games, but great ballgames.
Jordan With the pressure and the turnover, here comes his tall drive to take advantage.
They're working it around the perimeter.
The three is up in three is no good.
It would be, I believe Jordan's ball good crowds is always that good at center last night and here, as was the coach Gerald Turner and you get him on he's tall got a lot of folks who travel every year with him.
They've got that tradition.
And Jordan's looking inside, trying to go to the hole.
That's nice.
As an offensive tip.
Yes, it is.
Right idea.
Nice try.
But he would have pulled up.
That was Xavier Jordan to Jordan.
And now we've got the referee, Xavier step in to the free throw line.
But the official had it the other way.
I think we had two separate calls.
You make the call.
What do you think, charge or defensive foul?
Looks like both of them might have been in the air.
They may have the call by each official going the other way.
Quentin Crouch still hoping they jump it up.
So we have a little conference here.
1430, 30, 40 saw first quarter.
I'm not sure who takes precedent.
You know, if it's a guy that makes the first call, you know, who knows?
It's been a long week.
I was looking there's our officials, Bill McNair and Andre Stephenson and yet Maribel, I would like me to go get you and find out.
I believe that it's the guy that blows the whistle first.
Okay.
And normally, you know what?
If you hear two whistles, referees will confer.
Be sure they'll go to each other and say, what do you have?
What do you got?
They'll discuss it then.
But I think they believe they are saying that that was an offensive foul.
So the other way we go and Coach Turner just a little ticked off, so I'll straighten out.
He's tall bringing the ball up, looking inside the jumper, no good.
Jordan gets the ball and they will try to run.
Long pass is intercepted.
Good idea.
Well, execution and if he's targeting try of getting back on defense splitting it out now people is you lost one game this season 41 try to complete what was a dream season for them as this is good Jordan team at 27 and four goes the turnover gets it out has a little that he does not go in for the easy it is wouldn't survive and so they're getting out getting in and running with him So far it's been an exciting offensive game that Jordan wants to take advantage of Walter Hill being out of the game for a few minutes, get a blow.
So we'll have to try to score some points quickly.
A little more patience looking underneath, as he's called.
But that's where Jordan likes to trap.
Occasionally in that corner up to the top, saying what we've seen a couple of things play get now the bad defense.
Yep.
Kind of draws a little too much of that six five frame.
Going to the hoop for the shoulder down, maybe just hanging around after hitting the football field.
There it is.
Good call.
Easy call the official there Wise is bigger than anybody down low.
Probably better off going down posting on the paint instead of charging in with the lowered shoulder he can still get the ball up was a double double.
He averages 13 points and ten and a half rebounds.
A good looking after it was all right and Coach Dicks doesn't wait long to get well to hit it back into the ballgame.
Now.
Coach taking care of the court goes out there.
Take care of the players On the pressure looking long and it's completion So Peterson with some hops here gets it That's one way to break the press He's horrible press all game long as we told you Jordan under control brings it back out and already I like I.V.s to a point that purpose job for Walter Hill to go out and try to pressure that little guy.
Absolutely.
To the hole up back no good rebound nice steal they don't mind popping it out here comes was leading the break Wow And the three pointer was hill why not just at the buzzer so up and down and this looks back to some good basketball great talent That's the kind of guy you know that after one 6 to 13 up on he's tall you've and I've my sense I can I was I wrote any song when suddenly I was hypersensitive to how beautiful everything was fine like walking rain watch John Denver songs best friend BUZZER Sunday at 1030 on Georgia Public Broadcasting broadcaster of this program is made possible in part by the following International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

This is Georgia Public Broadcasting.
Your PBS station was just part of the terrific crowds we've seen at all high school finals here, Jordan up on East Harlem, the triple-A Boys finals.
Early impressions, her voice.
Well, I think Jordan's done more against the press than the press has done to them so far.
And that's been the story.
A lot of good looking shots and went for Ivory taking the ball up.
And they're handling the pressure well right now.
But East Hall's got a lot of strength, and that's going to tell Jordan and there's your shooting percentage is pretty good, especially for Jordan.
Eight 414 many of those off turnovers and easy layup.
So both teams coming out shooting fairly well touched up their up and in Terrance Hill will go to the line Jordan seems to have a little bit more quickness than his whole He's also got some good strong good looking athletes but a little bit of quickness is allowing Jordan to get past and penetrate into the bucket.
I don't know about you, but what I was playing and this was way I went, I'd rather try to play against a guy that is pulling them quicker and finding funny people that were taller and slower was my problem.
But that's the way I felt.
1930 Jordan up on East Hall, second quarter of the triple A finals here for the boys, the final final for our coverage of men's basketball and girls basketball A steal nicely done up and he'll go to the foul line and all of a sudden things are going Jordan's way.
A smart play by Terrence Hill there.
He knew he was going to draw the foul.
The contact took it to the hoop and took it to bring up a good point.
So there's a lot more quickness or so it seems, early going for Jordan out on the perimeter.
We'll see if that makes a difference.
Certainly this press that he's tall has thrown out of hasn't bother the first one up and good numbers to the east he's tall might be well advised to maybe get Hill and and the other big guy down low Kenneth Wise and try to work something down in the paint because they they definitely have the strength and size to take advantage of what you have.
Last night we saw a couple of teams to the high lows when they had two big players and see if they go to that second one.
Go.
It's 2013, Jordan up.
He's tall with a lot of tradition, a lot of titles trying to win another one with a good Normandy.
And in fact, they're still on the double team.
He is five.
I'm not sure Jordan High School has been around a long, long time.
I think they had some really good basketball teams, maybe back in the fifties and sixties, which was a little before me, even though wait a minute, you just said they had been a long time.
They back in the fifties.
So they have some good teams.
Yeah, fifties and sixties.
You are old.
He's tough, controlling the ball up and dancing out the big guys wise and put it underneath.
Can't control.
And here comes Turk with the ball It's all play He's top back on defense looking inside to the hoop offering it in and they're getting some easy hits That's just clever ball handling three nice passes and the again the key just finishes it a six to move it then he was a slasher once again trying to put that shoulder down again here.
The home court for his second offensive tackle this early night there again surface to Jordan to get the big stronger players trying to take it from outside.
I think they're better advised to take it down low and just try to overpower him with the power moves inside.
That's two.
How many of them, maybe two on wise, that's going to be big.
There's hope on both of those.
Johnson Did you like trying to cross the line, guys?
Next up, ready?
Anybody to help get off of John will come through and again tried to do it on the get up court very quickly and real controls bringing the ball up Robinson over 24 points a game got some early hits but they were quiet lately he's called slowing it down just to that looking inside the hill there he is when he is double or triple his way outside, three quarters will control the ball looking to run.
And they've got some numbers.
Let's see what they can do.
Yeah.
yeah, Slick pass.
And that's what they've been doing as Crouch gets another another easy.
You have so far right now flex kicks have seen enough and find out that's as good a ball handling passing team as we've seen so far in the tournament.
This Jordan team really got heads up offensive players nicely done it up by 11 early going with 556 left is Jordan 24 to 13.
Let me remind you we hope you're enjoying our broadcast of this h as a state basketball championship.
You can show your appreciation against the by becoming a member of this easy still is the cure.
All you have to do is log on to our web site at WW w dot gpp dot org.
And as always, thanks for supporting high school sports right here on to the field.
Let's see if he still can straighten things out and I agree got to start looking down low you're getting that pressure and even when you get to hill look go be someone open current he's tall and I think you're used to being in this position group block but they get it back up and no good and Jordan just seems to be a step quicker early going, looking for his advantage in numbers.
what a good pass.
And he continues beautiful, beautiful basketball by Jordan Peterson.
Finish this out and all of a sudden they have doubled up.
Well he's tall.
He talks to you, looking inside, you losing the ball again.
And here we go again.
Easy layup on Danny Ainge steps in there and Peterson And do we have a timeout?
Yes, indeed we do as Coach Taylor wants to talk about it again, five and a half minutes run for his call and for this the team is 30 and one and used to scoring a lot of points here and Jordan really is some of the best team basketball I've seen and well not just this year and quite a while unbelievable in that Winfred Ivey I think he can turn the lights out in his bedroom and be in bed under the covers for the room gets dark washed it.
Well that's that's just great passing that's just confidence and you know great pass but I get I get Jordan credit keep on running coaches will tell you keep on running you'll get easier if they keep passing like this in the second half we might break out the Globetrotters music.
Yeah they are.
That's how they pass their fill in the lanes.
And when you know your teammates are looking for you, it makes you take it to the hoop.
You guys probably never went to the hoop.
They just went to rebound.
But, you know, same thing.
Jordan on a 14 run and still nothing falling.
And when it rains, it pours.
And here we go again, Jordan with the break up.
Then another foul into the line they will go that is Clinton Thompson grant Curtin with the numbers on every possession there's the up and down the call got a lot of ball but also got a lot of players go to the foul line he will go and crowd six three averages almost 13 a game has a brother on the team by the way so we want to mention him.
Joe Crouch is a future star of this team.
Quentin, the older brother.
He's having a pretty good start to the night, fellas.
Just simple.
He's is going to have to make some adjustments.
I don't think they can beat this Jordan team playing with that pressure to play.
Yeah, maybe take the pressure off Jason.
I don't know if they have a zone defense to play some halfcourt man to man they cannot press.
They're getting beat three on one, 201, four on three.
And I still think they're going to use their size inside.
He saw again they took their big guy took it, but he was just five, six, eight feet away from the basket.
Instead of making the power move from the block.
What the game plan is then double team is to business deal underneath and make the other guys beat him.
So far they have what he makes a 13.
He's home down by 15 still without it for at least 6 minutes one shot Now he got everything on the ground scrambling numbers again look at this guy.
Could have been an easy way out.
It was three against one, but we got it out there.
So Drew just running and got it and breaking it open.
Really.
And the transition game was just a matter of physics right now.
More speed on Jordan and you have to trust the strategy to offset that.
His dream team impressive with the Clippers and they're still on he has game plus it look at the move to the hill a little hesitation throws it up he'll go to the foul line you bail guy out there just making the tough shot Let the little guy take that shot.
he's all shot through this part shot.
And it is the little hesitation move as he looks at you down and out.
First one out.
The first one goes, yeah, that is the team.
He's Well, even though there was a fire when he got 31 inches the boxing analogies.
But you really haven't been knocked out in the fight you probably besides that one loss is going to control most of your games.
Of course, he's had to go to overtime to get here last night, but for the most part, they haven't been in this situation.
I doubt they've seen a quicker team than Jordan.
If they have, I'd like to see De Paul trying to get back to this final, the triple take on Herbalife with the action here from making our final finals of this season, we've looked at the inside bull trying to fight for possession.
Watch everyone collapse on him.
That was poor that was concerned.
That's what you have to do is mention it.
It has been a long time that the first time in about six and a half minutes look at the No look, 3% back in the ball.
Great defensive play there, Jordan getting I mean, he's tall, getting back on defense and that's you know that's just what he's tall can do.
I mean they have the power and the size post him to take it inside so Jordan up with an early lead over he saw on the break nice block 29 to 15 much more to come a triple play action right here on GPB funding for this program is provided by the Georgia High School Association.

Only two players have scored for each Fall Hill nine Wise has six both the inside players for each small well if you like.
If you're a basketball purist and you like team basketball, you got to love this Jordan team.
The way they're playing right now.
They should.
You know, the Franklin County girls had the team on their back instead of individual names.
You could put that on these guys because they are tremendous, solely unselfish.
He said it a moment ago.
This his whole team is in shock.
He took a shot at the bench and they run.
Now let's see if they can get a spark.
That's a nice play.
That's to help heal.
He'll go to the foul line and that's what they need to do.
I mean, we've got 340 left in this game, 29 to 15.
If the restart, you want to get it to a working margin.
Yeah, they've got the size and the strength on Jordan.
Use that right now.
I don't think the press is going to be affected, not against the team with the quickness and passing ability.
This Jordan team has well deserved to as we told you, going to the University of Georgia as a football scholarship at Ashford, there was a turnover there and they capitalized.
But I doubt if Jordan has over five or six turnovers in this first half sitting in the second quarter, he is out here comes wise and he will go to the sideline.
But Jayden couldn't come up with the rebound.
They had the inside position to bring it down.
Right.
Coach Dyer, a little upset.
So Kenneth Wise will now go to the foul line and Mr.
Wise averaging just 72 points a game with ten rebounds.
And as we said, the two guys last two guys with the foul on, they're the only good players who have scored for you call Dennis just a junior so he'll be back for coach picks next year and there's some schools looking at him.
He's a good looking athlete to start your side going and just maybe he'll go a couple more inches whereas he grows free stuff.
Joe and junior or sophomore year of college, well, I actually had a growth spurt the last six, eight months, so it's been bad.
I put on about £20.
You was like, you're in great condition.
Is Jordan is in pretty good shape themselves in this first half the state separate finals 330 to go and he's tall has put a dent in it You just can't count out this his whole team that's had one they've got some athletes but they really really have been ineffective.
When I press.
Yeah, Jordan has got to be careful now.
They were making it look easy for a while.
He's tall, is turning up the defensive pressure to get the ball in his hand.
You want to have his hands?
Yeah.
All right.
Here now to start the double team and just chase the ball through man up top.
So be somebody who's open underneath.
But looking low, Jump and recover.
Nicely done, Left handed.
Beautiful move.
Henderson has been impressive too, as he goes to the hole.
Only a junior to.
So a lot of these players you'll see next year Hill loses it.
And here we go.
Two on one fast break.
The little guy gives it up and we have and that's how it's done.
That is a tough pass to deliver.
They're at full speed and the man beside you is running full speed and you managed to lay it back softly right where he needs it.
So he'll first it looked like they were making a run.
All of a sudden it's 15 points again.
That's how quick this can make it happen offensively.
Another offense offensive foul so that is three offensive fouls Walter Hill and Kenneth Wise combined Yeah again he's starting his move out around the head of the circle by not have him down post it underneath He's picking up our offensive fouls Look at the fast break points.
I would have thought it was more than that.
He's more impressive because of the passing they've been having.
And there's the rebound by wise back up with comment He's tall again as mentioned trying to get this down to a working margin for the second half.
Jordan just clicked on the break quick on defense they're all over the place.
But to tell Jordan Glass has to be careful on those offensive boards not to pick up on their good hustle.
But it'll be James Ball.
Well, I can tell he's tall, he's turning up the defensive pressure.
They're really getting after that.
But if they waited too long, plenty of time to go to 11 in this quarter and then another half to go.
But you're right, it has to be turned up going into Cap town.
Yeah, I know.
Coach Dicks would like to see him get this down under double digits, if at all possible for a little psychological boost before the half.
He turns the corner.
Who's the panda?
Right at the shell.
Who is he?
Runs the show.
He's pretty slick up and no good rebound wise.
And he'll control for his call.
So they get a good look every time down every time there.
But it was 34, but it was 14 anyway.
Still, he's tall, controls up and good and that's the three pointer.
And that's certainly the beauty.
Jay Jackson gets a three pointer as he's trying to make it one two for the half pass and he's ready to travel.
Here we go on the break.
We'll go in.
Really don't know what you're doing.
And here's the one we expected amounts a ten point timeout for Coach Turner and a timeout.
And that's exactly what you had to do with your results.
Yeah, but good call by Coach Turner.
He's targeting a little momentum going and he wants to settle his guys down three pointer and then a breakaway on a turnover That's how you do it.
Pretty impressive though I agree with you.
This is one of the better passing teams you're going to see at high school or any other level.
Jordan likes to run with the ball now that pressure taken off by a little by Easton, that's helped them.
Well, they've missed a couple of shots, but they're still getting the good looks.
And I'll tell you is Winfred Ivey.
He can beat anybody they put on him the dribble.
And once he does that, he's going to create the numbers.
As we mentioned, he's tall, trying to win back to back state titles.
Tonight.
There girls team.
What a state title.
And he's 5000 He's tall with a really big lineup in the bowl.
Probably the biggest lineup they can put in there now Well it's size against quickness third quarter early going and there is another turnover, too.
It's hard to see if they can take advantage and they do big time as Walter Hill with the jam and all of a sudden it is under ten Jordan underneath a good look that is blocked by Hill takes the ball he's playing it at both ends three pointer what a huge hoop that would have been not to be controlled underneath was that's another way to get the three pointer great play by Walter Hill down on the other end but he's tall I mean Jordan little too late getting the ball up down there and let's watch here's a locked up by Walter Hill gets up and throws it down That's the flush and then wise with the rebound and just what coach sticks with hope and they've got it down into double digits and they keep playing like this and they had the lead before halftime, but it was a switch by a junior at the foul line just to keep the three point play.
Momentum has swung or swung, shot up and scored and all of a sudden we have a five point game and my old English teacher just cut her wrists And that's that's right.
All right.
Let's see what Jordan can get accomplished here.
He's called the pressure is really starting proven tough right now.
There's another turnover almost.
So watch here.
Jackson is coming down with his foot for the turnover here.
Chapter three for Uno's.
Got another turnover.
They're getting about three subs and maybe that was the key.
They needed some fresh legs in there.
He's tall with the pressure There's Ivy League on the it's under 50 to go with what has been an exciting first half a triple play action.
He's taking a couple of deep breaths out there.
He's working who's going to be in there the whole time?
So third team he runs the show, gets the press and he's an offensive threat to breaking down Stephenson with the ball over it, either going to the huddle and just stiff feels good.
So let's see if they go for a last shot and they will hit Terrance Hill got that one another big basket for Jordan.
They had a little drought going there.
Wanted him to call going to the hoop driving up and no good terrible.
But they happen to have enough time to do it easy and it's almost another long shot and they're doing well with the restart.
You got to feel pretty good.
You came back and you're Jordan put in a late spurt late so both teams feeling pretty good about themselves.
But what an up and down game it has been.
Everything we expected.
Let's go down to Gerald, talked to the coach about how he felt about that first half for Jordan.
Hey.
Hey, Coach.
You played an excellent game.
They're a good team.
Basketball are hard pressed.
Are you with your team in the first half?
But we can make free throws and turn and cut down on the turnovers.
That's indicative of the norm in the way we played.
We just right now we just down the weapons to the free throw and and the turnovers are killing us.
I think if we we don't make turnovers we try to have a 20 point lead.
It looked like East Hall has some success with their size.
What do you plan to do to combat that?
We're on them, We're running, they can't run and we just go and we'll get a rebound.
But our problem is that make sure that we shut them down one shot and we able to run, but we don't we can't run them.
All right, Coach, thank you.
Good luck in the second half.
Back over to you as to what a great staff should be.
More of it in the second half as Jordan as your head wants to run them and they have 3728 end to the first half.
Stay right there and more second half action coming your way.

But it's that time.
You know what it means.
We go back down to the floor.
Earlier in the day, he was in the principal's office.
Now he's in the director's chair.
It's Gerald Oliveira.
Gerald, it's all yours.
Thank you, John.
I'm down here with both athletic directors from East Hall and Jordan.
First of all, athletic director from East Hall.
We'll get to him in a minute.
George Morgan But let's talk to Anthony Dimitri and talk about your team out there.
I know you're pretty proud of the whole program right now.
Well, we are.
It's just been a big boost.
The school's been real enthusiastic in the community.
We got a lot of good support and it's going to be a real big boost for our whole program.
Now, it's been a while since there's been a state title in Columbus and Jordan.
You know, just talk about the feeling of the community and the excitement right now.
Well, it's been it's been 36 years.
I happen to be on the baseball team that won a state championship in 1971, and we hadn't had one since then.
And this has been a big, big charge in the school and the community and the kids are just playing fantastic right now.
No, I also understand you have the ring on from there and they touched the ring as inspiration.
Let me see the ring right there.
Yeah, we have we have used this for about the last month.
I woke up one night and just said, well, look, I need to find something to use.
And we've been touching this ring like the Holy Grail for about a month.
And we both went on a search and now hopefully we can get this thing.
We know he's tall, he's got a great reputation, they've got a great program, and it's going to come down to the final couple of minutes, I guess.
And Jacob, but not only does East Hall have a good boys program, they also have a good girls program.
George, can attest to that.
Your girls won it earlier today.
I know you're excited about that.
Very excited.
Very excited.
It's a big thrill, this all too family affair.
And you can see we have a lot of fans here and we have a lot of cousins, brothers, sisters on the team.
So it is a togetherness that's created just by the community itself.
And I saw you over there intently watching the game.
Just watching the game.
Just just just talk about, you know, that second half when they came back, second quarter, rather, when they came back.
But again, the minute you and I were talking and we both realized that there are a lot of good athletes on the floor, and with those athletes, you're going to have runs and there was a run just before the end of quarter on it's going to be a couple more runs, and that's just part of the game.
You're going to see up and down the tempo as fast.
So you can have a couple of runs outside of basketball.
You have a lot of good student athletes there at at East Hall.
Just talk about some of the things that the student athletes are doing outside of basketball.
Well, Kayla Coleman is going to be a scholar athlete and she will probably go to the University of Northwestern University with her brother, Lee Coleman, who's at Northwestern, who got a football scholarship last year.
We have a couple of individuals on the boys team, a fellow going west, Georgia.
We have to call going to Fordham University.
Walter Hill, 32, is going to University of Georgia to play football.
So we have a lot of student athletes as well as just good students, period.
All right.
Well, thanks a lot, George, also.
Thanks a lot, Anthony.
Listening back to somebody else who's directing our broadcast.
Jon Nelson.
I am by no means directing this broadcast.
I'm just one of the tour guides.
Thank you.
Travel.
I'll catch up with you in just a little bit.
We are at halftime of the last 11 of 11 last championship game slash triple-A shirt in the red jackets.
No player taller than six three.
They are making an impact right now with a nine point lead, which was 15 at one point in the first half.
The trimmed it to nine east.
Paul has an East Congo back to back.
That is the big question back to back in girls and boys titles here in in 2007.
Now let's go downstairs once again to the highlights for the first half boogie with Stu and boogie with nine guys.
Well thank you very much.
I think both athletic directors, Herb put it well.
It is going to be who can impose their will.
Jordan wants to go in and get out.
You heard the coach say that I don't think the big guys reasonable can right.
East Hall wants to go down low.
What do we look for?
Well, they did call it in a game like this.
When you got up and down, there's going to be a lot of momentum shifts.
Let's take a look right here.
Very first play of the game, Walter Hill.
And there we can see Jordan running with the ball.
They got a high percentage of their shots in the first half, mainly because they had the quickness.
They went to the hole and they had a lot of transition baskets just like this herb, That's just beautiful basketball underneath.
What's the story for that East Hall team as they went to their big guys?
The block shot there and they took a little momentum.
Is there anyone that has the momentum?
He's tall, as you can see with the big dunk by Hill has a little momentum.
Here's your field goals.
What stands out to you?
Well, look at that shooting percentage right there, 17 for 29.
That's a darn good shooting percentage.
And it's because they've been beating the pressure and getting down and getting good looks and a smaller team for Jordan rebounding with these tall turnovers, just about even fast break points in favor of Jordan.
But he's tall coming on towards the end of the half and expect this to get tighter.
All right.
Let's see what Coach Dicks is going to do for his tall Joe.
Hey, Dix.
Coach Dix, you had a lot of success in the end of that second quarter.
How do you plan to translate that into the second half?
Well, just talk to our kids about maintaining that effort level and helping when knock down some shots.
On the other hand, Jordan did a good job defensively against us.
They're there every bit.
The defensive team, we thought they were coming in.
It seemed like you had a lot of success with your size.
How do you plan to exploit that?
we're going to try to get the ball inside and they double down.
We'll kick it out and try to knock down some shots.
But that's the biggest thing.
If we're not getting some shots and they the double down, it hurts to double down.
But if we don't, we could be in for a tough half here.
Okay.
Well, thanks a lot, Coach Dicks.
Good luck in the second half.
Back over to you.
Is doing all right.
37, 28, two more quarters left in this high school championship season.
I think it's going to come right down to the wire.

We in our own Sunday at eight on Georgia Public Broadcasting at eight.
This is Georgia Public Broadcasting, your PBS station 60 Minutes to determine the triple AA boys High School state champs and 3728 Jordan up on his call you say hey first few minutes of this third quarter very important play a really big freestyle because if they can cut it down then we got to a ballgame but should Jordan get it cranked up and get six or eight more points before his hall does and you got a big lead.
So he's got to get right back in it now.
But Coach talked about getting some outside shots.
He started James Jackson, a little big three, the second half.
So he wants the perimeter shots going in here with the ball.
There it is.
Takes it up and let's see if he gets it off the rim.
No good girl with three down here go up strong and can't find the ball.
And we'll see if Jordan tries to beat him down court and run and they do all right up There's that pass not to do this time but again they hit the open man he's stuck in there I'm the absolutely finds the right guy on the break every time Terrance Hill stuck in a look at this Walter Hill and Kenneth was 25 of the Vikings 28 points and I bet if he did, the shot chopped it off with a ten feet off the hood.
Here's Hill again up with the jumper and no good.
And as Herb said, you got to watch out for the beginning of this third quarter.
And Jordan wants to run what a deep this team down court Ivy going to the hole Nice pass the inside doesn't work Nope So they're going to crack out.
It's hard to really run the show well pulls up and goes up and hits.
Look at this offensive rebound for Jordan underneath.
All right.
Now it's 4128.
He's tall.
Needs to get a bucket this time down with a look inside Take your time loose tall 30 and one coming into this state final that's dominated really in boys basketball giving way to go.
It was for the push and that is his third offensive foul his third foul of the night in all offense and I believe wise and Hill both have they have six offensive fouls between them I believe Jordan good right full court pressures Frank Malloy our crack statistician will have that information for us before the end of the ball game on does a great job for us every year we're up here making it.
We appreciate it.
There's a turnover.
Let's see if he's tall.
Can't take advantage of the break.
Looking to rise.
He pulls up, brings it back out.
There it is the lost three pointer not to be.
That's why Jackson is in there to try to hit from the outside.
Jordan trying to break again.
That was no yes he didn't need to make right there and coach is letting him know it.
It doesn't make many bad decisions.
But that was one.
And I tell you what, if I'm a division one coach, I know that Winsford average averages only about five seven, but I got to look at him pretty strong.
He's this junior, just a junior.
Maybe he'll go alone.
I'm telling you, if he wants a man come in and handle pressure.
He's your main.
He's been hitting the weights a little, trying to get a little bigger frame in the offseason, but we certainly can handle way outside it.
So far this second half, he still hasn't been able to hit from the outside.
Way outside for the big guy Hill in and out, Wise tries to get a dunk but he's off controls again.
So far there is a lid it for this east wall team they're going to try again and then you'll go to the line.
So Jay Jackson said the threes not fall when he tries something closer and he will go to the foul line Great effort by his taller got four shots at the basket and Jordan can ill allow that you don't want to go to the fourth quarter down by double digits to this Jordan team.
No because of their quickness and the way they break the press.
And if you're in the fourth quarter, you're going to have to press.
If you doubt that, they're going to get some easy hits.
Good point.
The second one up and there's two big foul shots that were missed and it'll be a jump ball possession.
Jordan referees now looking at each other to make sure that they are on the same page.
No one had a foul.
Everybody had the jump ball.
Jordan's got him got to get on the boards and make sure they get a body on somebody now because he's tall, is really concentrating on getting on the boards and getting some foot backs, Ivy to trigger it in.
If you for someone that doesn't have anyone in there we go.
Once he gets it in his hand, the press is pretty much over up and almost a rebound.
And here comes he's tall with the numbers.
Let's see.
It flies.
Nobody there to break it up.
This is the pace.
Fast and furious.
They trying to slow it down just a bit.
Look inside and set it back up.
Good job there.
Good job there to pull it back out.
Terrence Hill, who has the ball, has been impressive.
He is quick.
Look at that.
Cross over to the whole offensive line.
Indeed it is.
Good job by the two.
That would be.
Here's the offensive charge.
Yeah.
I don't have anybody on my scorecard but a nice pass.
Josh Chapman to Chapman.
Sure to charge good play by Josh for seven this quarter finally they play they break this one for eight and try to run again Who can control the game and little body with the fake trying to go in and and doing that small bring it back out take it back in and this full time stuff he's got about ten or 12 miles under his belt already tonight Anderson.
Another Jimmy with the ball.
This team's going to be good next year to I've been trying to take it to the hole No looked at here we go.
Offense up on Walter Hill.
Are they going to get looks in Jordan?
No.
All right.
That could have gone either way there.
Steve Patterson.
Peterson charged with a foul and wow, how big would out of him?
Tom Jordan.
If I see well, too, he'll go into the basket.
I guarantee you I'm getting about it.
But I'm trying to draw that fourth foul.
He's tall trigger head hill with a nice jumper off it and nicely done.
Two big baskets in a row now for Walter Hill.
And he's tall, so now it's under ten points again for this East whole team trying to go back to back.
And girls and boys basketball tonight, both winning state titles.
Girls have done their part for us trying to do that, you got to feel like God is wearing down a little bit.
You would say he has played, I think, every single minute and he has played 90 feet, bringing it outside, trying to use what is a motion offense where he's talking down there.
Got it.
He tried walking around like he did in the first half.
Great pass that missed.
Here we go.
And he just tried to run with the ball.
Almost looked like a fatigued mess right there.
He let us do is keep an eye on this.
But that's a good pass.
And again, they just couldn't finish these tall slowing it down, trying get a good shot.
Now, each possession is important when you try to hit that fourth quarter again with a workable margin.
Jumper up, jumper and jumper out.
Rebound hurt a lot, but no call for Jordan.
Look try to control high again we're looking up court to see if they can get a break and that's how it is done.
No Steve Patterson obviously that's going to be next year.
That was a big transition there.
Looked like he's always going to score to put back the steal and then the transition layup four point swing back to 11 just women seems like they're doing it close turn goes on a run inside Nice pass first easy basket He's hauls in quite a while but they've turned it up offensively taking a little more time looking for the good shot still with that aggressive pass and there's a foul so Josh Chapman picks up that one and wholesale substitutions getting ready for a loose ball that that four in four out there.
I think what coach thinks is going to do is just bring him in, bring him out and try to press the entire way to 30 left in a state championship.
4334 Kenny Sol come back and win a state title.
We shall see as we continue with Georgia State, High School.
Funding for this program is provided by the Georgia High School Association.
The GHC would like to thank Verizon Wireless for the outstanding support of high school sports programing on GPB.
Hello, I'm Ralph Swearingen.
More than 163,000 Georgia students compete in high school sports and nearly 84,000 participate in GHC non-athletic competition.
These sports and activities enrich educational experiences on behalf of Verizon Wireless in the GHC, Thank you for your support.
Jordan up on saw 43 to 34 triple AA boys State High School basketball championship Stu clients had to get heard White coming to you live from Macon as the final final of this year's high school basketball state championships.
They have been sensational this no different what does he saw?
What does Jordan have to do down the stretch in the last quarter in 2 minutes to take his state title away from this game?
Well he's tall, stepped it up, no doubt about it.
And Walter Hill keeps looking up at that scoreboard and saying, but we've turned it up and we're still down what we were at halftime or worse.
So just got to keep doing what they're doing.
Nice move to the hall, not to be caught.
And there you go, wise controlling it.
Here comes his tall shirt and starting to miss some of those trips to the basket.
Now, these tall down by nine has had a run back trying to make that next one to get this game a little closer.
There's Hill who has been everything we thought he would be, and they're going to congregate on him when he tries to take it to the hoop.
Well, the double team and he's got to get into the open man.
There's the shot wide open look not to be white, to tip.
That's not here by Hill.
Tried to tip.
Yep.
Not today.
He can get up.
There's no doubt about that.
He's an excellent athlete and somebody else starts making some shots.
He's tall.
Can get back in this quick because they are really going to concentrate on Walter Hill.
And I'm thinking Jordan's beginning to look just a tad fatigued.
They're missing some of those layups, the hoop before that they were making and they're not getting to the shooters quick.
They're giving up a lot more offensive rebounds.
So let's keep an eye on that.
Well, he's Paul getting the open looks from the outside.
They've got to put him down.
You heard Coach Dick say that at halftime to see if they can wise inside and he'll outside.
There's an open look after no good he'll go through and just try to run.
Look at that pass Hello nice block by hill rejected.
That was something I do not know how Joshua Woods knew where Harvey was, but he found him.
Well, there's hill with another block just trying to put the pressure on turnover and he's tall, has a shot to take this close and get another route.
Has to slow down just a tad.
There's still to rise up and he'll go too, with that line.
That's the first time he's put his shoulder down and knock on called for an offensive foul.
Well, Joshua Wood went after him instead of standing his ground and Jordan definitely not playing with the efficiency they had last in that second quarter and begin the third quarter.
So it's time for East Hall to make some progress.
I think this is going to be another one I think is going to go down to the last couple of minutes.
First one is good by Weiss.
So why six five good looking player got to succeed and here we go.
But that's in contention every time they got here.
Jordan has made a run.
Let's see if they do it again.
Some backcourt again, bring it over.
They've been looking for the open shot not to be all over.
Move back, guy.
He tried to reset, guarded by Walter Hall.
He's gone through about a foot on him.
And that is just such a tough that's a hard foul there.
Walter Hill not going to take the ball away from him.
He's at three, but that might be four.
But it is three.
That's just a64 going.
It's five seven.
So that was tough.
He was looking for a lot to show now from the point maybe take a little precious little, have a little bit of a blow, but he's got it back in his hands.
boy.
They're trying to double team.
He's time.
You can see the scramble defense with just over 30 seconds to go in this third smart play.
They're going to hold four one here, I believe, unless they get something really good.
There it is, the next block and Rice comes up with a good block.
And now you think he's called the hole for the final shot?
You're working it around here looking underneath.
Was trying to post up Nice pass there could have shot it up and be three and there's the shot have been just out and what we get kind of traveling Wow figures that could have been a three pointer and could have put them down by four one too many passes there.
You were right on that, Steve, because they remember who it was.
But he should have shot it on the other side.
10 seconds to go.
I'm going to try to get something good for Jordan up here.
Pull up.
And how about that?
A five point turnaround.
That's huge.
Nine point deficit.
Now, last shot at this quarter up and down.
And after it was all said and done, we talked about it sure maintains their lead.
They are up by nine 4536.
We head to the final quarter of this championship game and Houston has set you up.

Fans of all ages here in Macon and perhaps future stars for German or as we have here, the East.
Small fans face painting, always be in high school or college or even the proms.
But I think Walter Hill's as good as advertised and I hate it because he's going to play football but you can tell he's going to be a really good wide receiver when they throw that high went into the end zone.
He's got great hands.
He's got great balance, he's got great speed, he's got quickness.
Yeah, he's a big, big time athlete.
So coming down, can Jordan hold on to a nine point lead with 8 minutes to go?
That's the question what 8 minutes left in this game?
Eight that was left in all our high school coverage and let's see what happens.
He's tall in control of the Jordan for the most part in control of this game to the hole blocked shot Here comes certain here comes Ivey looking to break looking to go to the hoop not to be up there at it And that is a nice follow up by Steve Peterson who was quietly having a very nice game, actually checked out Terrance Hill inside as they tried to go wise up you can't go to a game by Hill.
That's where they should have been going all game with those two big guys.
And here they come up and there's a foul turnover.
Watch will go to the foul line And I was just going to say you can't take baskets and that's what you need those turnovers.
Gerald Turner beside himself over there, just a really loose pass there by Jordan, trying to get the ball inbounds.
It turns to talk about a two.
Yeah.
And Wise is a good free throw shooter.
So there you go.
He saw trying to get a little momentum coming down the stretch.
720 still a lifetime left 4738 It has been a sensational game as we go to Thursday night, 7:30 p.m. it's Georgia's longest running high school sports in academics program prep sports, plus some of Georgia's most successful student athletes, athletic programs and much more.
It's called prep sports.
Plus, Thursday nights at 730, it's exclusively on PDB, the longest running high school show in the country.
One of my thrills in high school, they had a show like that in Washington, D.C., and I got to meet this is another little name, but a guy by the name of Sam Jones.
Boston Celtics lost the South two great who had actually had a high school show.
And that was a thrill.
It's a thrill for a lot of these kids and it's great coverage that GPB does.
So if you can, Thursday's at 731.
Is that the foul line up?
The first one is off the rim and you got to hit it Normally a good foul shooter who's tall and wise with the second unit is now a seven point game.
Excuse me.
Eight point game.
Sure.
And again, keeps the pace going.
The pressure's on by hall.
They break it Navy to set it up and conservative and he didn't have to bring up that time and that helps him a little bit.
And as we mentioned, that is a tough match up but still again sliding off to the hole and there is the Dominique Wilkins hot move there.
Paterson, the junior, having a good, solid game.
He sure has made some big baskets here in the second half working it around JR do that tough man of that he's tall looking for a cruise, trying to get something underneath.
They want him where they want wise and do they want the first three big guys And though this is the fourth time offensive foul or twice for fouls I believe every single one of them as the great footwork again by Jordan on the defensive end and is that Peterson the guy that Quentin Crouch got in there to draw that I believe let's see who was Kevin Peterson?
That was Peterson who drew foul.
So yep, he is sitting down and here goes Jordan looking to break.
They have a man down.
But and let's see if he will bring it up.
They can't keep eyes out for long.
Look for him to bring him back in around the four and a half minute mark, if not earlier, by the dribble.
And he's had some endurance because he's been doing this all game long, up and off and it will be Jordan's ball that got away with an over the back there Jordan did and got lucky and got the rebound and it's just a tough match up for for Hill outside a anybody but the water bug is going to have a tough time guarding him and got a double teamed inside somehow only five seven gets it to Peterson but off and here comes he's tall looking for a break looking for a hole There he is up He got a three in the first half, but nope, it's off.
J Jackson can't find the range up and around and a reverse the more still doing it all right now Jordan with the man down they're going to keep running it running it on the break Let's see if they get it easy though there's on the run and on the offensive foul.
So where draws the foul here we see now can we see Walter Hill on the boards here up cleanly done and just so strong and reverses it So now he's tall trying to make their run with just over 545 now 542 left in this high school championship, taking the time, as Herb mentioned, looking inside and looking to Hill.
He's double teamed so that we live around someone has to hit a three but it wasn't there Hill going to the hole that his bucket fall down to Charlotte Hill will go to the line here shoot to two Jordan looked like they were going to come up with the rebound but they couldn't and Walter Hill is everywhere so he'll go to the foul line and shoot to 22 points, 11 boards.
It's just about what he averages 24 points and nine and a half boards.
So he's getting his numbers.
Look at several touchdown passes against Florida for a few years.
I guess I'll forgive him for playing football.
Relax.
He could always walk on the basketball team if he gets bored in the basketball season.
Don't play basketball here, okay.
Second one up, second one.
Shooter's touch, six point ball game.
Two possessions now with plenty of time left.
520 for Herb mentioned it.
I think he's right.
Jordan looks just a little fatigued going at this pace the entire game five He tries to bring it up under pressure the entire game he was setting it up slowed it down just to get working inside.
Pretty good defense by his tall and a bad shot by Randy.
Maybe a little fatigued.
Yeah, that's not his shot.
Got to look for Peterson.
I'm looking for Pierce and I'm looking for Terrence Hill right now to prove scores.
Try to get me something great.
You break down the offensive, give it to those guys, finish him off.
And I just thought, there's a man all alone down there.
There he goes.
Easy lay up.
And all of a sudden we've got a ball game, we're broke.
And he got the easy hoop, and he starts he trying to smile there at the championship in one evening here in making good pressure by Hill, he's setting it back up for three to go to the play championship and tall 30 and one pull it off we shall see it's good pressure great pressure.
We saw it all over Harvard breaks it down, brings it back out half a step.
Quickness lost on this Jordan team right now.
You can see it Peterson goes inside.
almost a steal and really the feet start to settle and his shot looks a little short, too.
Who gets the offensive over the back?
Yep, he's tall.
Coming up with the rebounds and the loose ball is.
I think the strength of this whole team is beginning to wear the quickness down.
4945 14 left.
As Coach Turner looks for some answers.
He's got to find somebody who can get him a bucket down on the other end.
Well, what happens if they don't get something in transition when they go to their half court?
They're getting nothing.
If they were going to have a one on one down here, Antoine footman will go to the line, but he will indeed shoot the one.
Just keep you updated.
Position Arrow Gordon Drew way first.
What up first drop tapped out by Will Jordan Controls He tried to go to the hook, goes up the horn and wanted to try to lose to break the drop Great pass by Terrance Hill tipped it out to his little man and he just outraced the whole east whole team.
He's tall, still with a good shot, still with plenty time looking inside to Hill Hill now comes back outside court just trying to back down just strong to the half.
And they're not going to have an answer for that down the stretch.
That's just a great by Walter Hill kept under control make a strong move to the numbers.
Well they can't really take it away.
How about that for a big shot?
That's gutsy.
That's what shooters do.
Terrance Hill with a big pull up jumper, now looks like the other hill is going to start taking over Walter Hill looking inside again.
And I just think if he gets it on his defense, he can score.
It will.
Good turnover, good times.
Harvey will go up again.
Yes, he does.
And this time he'll go and shoot, too.
Yeah, that was a huge Trevor Bishop.
What He was looking for Walter Hill, as he was making his penetration, took his eye off the ball for just a second and it cost him what is Jordan team is so quick that they got three or four guys coming in different directions.
We put it on the floor and it might just get stolen.
Those stats you just saw Friday, just tell a small part of the story.
nine points.
But he has run this show and more importantly.
He has broken that east tall press all night.
Yes, he has.
I've never seen a guy put as much effort into a ball game or no more than win for derbies.
But in this ballgame sets it up to black for his shot outside.
Does he want it to take 378.3, a seven point lead three possession game?
It's a big free throw.
Beal outside inside to his partner Wise who goes up for the easy way out and that's what they should have been doing.
Perhaps a little bit man and they were tied good defense by turn off and turnovers going outside What do we got here Boy that was close church with him involved for the foul there but they got the break very close ball was in the air anybody's possession and now no free throw well free throws but it's going to come down to three serves 5449 to 52 left in this triple-A high school championship.
And Coach Turner wants a timeout.
None of his players see him.
Ivey now coming up.
And he finally calls it so 240 left, 5449 sure has no doubt he's tall, has made their run, but still can't seem to get over that little hump.
Well, they need a stop here just 244 to go with it.
It's still a two possession ballgame, but a bucket here and it's a three possession game.
So this is a big possession.
Let's see what Coach designs.
I'm looking for Terrence Hill.
He's delivered just about all night long.
There's a foul situation.
So both teams will be in the one on one to time outs.
The George six seasons, three, six.
He's four he's tall and that's it as far as shout outs go.
Well I take your guess is he's cut it out go into a seven star.
No no you don't go to a stall here but you certainly want to get a good looks.
Yes.
You know, not as aggressive and go for just a layup.
We'll see what happens.
Ivey will be looking for the ball double team and so close.
He's tall, giving it everything they got.
And tough to win for that very tough battle.
Two guys have come up with it now.
He's doing it in one game.
This is bad.
He's open.
He's going to forget about slowing this down.
I'll just go right back up.
Tough to believe he can make decisions at that speed cross with the easy open.
It is a seven point game for him.
Control up top.
He's going to take it down to the fan.
And on offense, it's tough.
It is a turnover.
Here comes Jordan.
What they have to do in the long game and that tools there he'll go and shoot to spark play by Terrence Hill taking it all the way and now it's about as close to an offensive fight without having one called just a nice play by Terrence drawing the foul.
Now we have four Walter Hill and you don't that you think there's not much time left doesn't mean he's playing well He comes out of the ballgame.
It is huge dance here with the first two up Get up and look at those guys.
When you see him bent over, grabbing his shorts, tired and he can't blame them.
He's tall.
He's been battling back and battling back and battling back this whole half.
Coach Turner talked about it at halftime.
And look at those.
Look at those numbers, 20 points, four rebounds for only a junior.
He averages 20.5.
He's got to go over his average.
Does he make a couple of free throws for the player?
So now something has to happen quickly.
Don't forget Walter Hill, those four big fouls, but he is the offensive man for this small team.
He get it three pops it up quickly, drives with the rebound and he's excited to try it and he will make it two possession game.
They got him open though Heidi leading the way and this is ideal for running back to New guy gets it and puts it right back in what else can he do for goodness sakes, the smallest man on the floor with the biggest rebound of the night.
And now the tempo has to pick up as well.
Look inside the wise hill, starting from the top and then cuts down low.
Jordan here doesn't want to give up the three pointer or the three point play inside, though still a two it's still a two possession game.
If you only give up the deuce looking for the three, looking for the jumper off.
And Jordan, that's a big group.
And here they still they stay in there so where makes the big jumper There's the pressure.
Sure he hasn't been bothered by it all evening long and this is no different now.
It's a scramble crowd and they could have been a turnover if this was the ball.
What do you got?
What are they going to play?
WHISTLE But they're going to get the foul inside.
Peterson going to be gone boy, Terrence, who came up after he lost the ball, managed to come up with it.
Watch this sequence.
Well, there's the foul.
And he did come over the back and go to the big wide Steve Pearson 63g injured a couple of years ago just really started this thing this season to get things together after that injury systems have been good is just an unbelievable thing as a parent to deal with it, make a turnover and get it back and the same play just incredible and make the pass for the foul stuff and run out the front runner but controlled go back to sort of pulling it out to put it out but still they go to the foul line and Tim Jordan will go to the line for Drew one and 14 left and this time where they needed to state championships in New York.
All right.
Got to come up with a rebound off of this free throw.
You get a state championship that's a no no Jordan with the first time, that's his out and that stands beside himself because he said at that time, got to watch the turnovers and we got to hit some shots and they a lot of other things right.
Who's talking in 30 seconds.
Let us go now.
He has no time to waste.
He still brings it all.
He will be the bad shot off the board and no good works on to get it back down.
Does standing still with the three pointer?
Nope.
From Jordan A just so blocked is in a way they're going to have to foul now, but they're going to have to catch this German bunch boys down the block.
That was last night heard he dances around the corner early U.S. might just have too much quickness too much speed and they do it all night throw he's tall makes their living with their pressure defense and getting the turnovers and a great turn great Jordan quickness and not just a quickness could be enabled to pass that basketball and hit the open man at the right time.
I'd like to see how the assist went for that.
He has.
It's just been unbelievable of the passes he's made.
Well, as we close out this high school basketball championship season, everyone, of course, at Georgia Public Television wants to thank you for sports and for your viewership.
And I hope you enjoyed what we put out.
Tombo based and his crew do a terrific job, first class job every single year.
So we're just proud to be part of it.
It's just like point that no job still times eight points.
We saw it used to pull the trigger quickly to throw it up there off by hill, off the back window.
Good.
Jordan, with the rebound.
I've trying to get it.
Here we go.
Get the ball.
And again, it's still off the front room and maybe a little fatigued here.
He's tormented and here we go again.
And that is shooting and too much time.
And this will put the nail in the coffin.
Yeah, how about that, Terrence, who got a state high school championship for Jordan.
So he was going to lead tonight with one state championship.
They had a chance to crowd, started to feel it and go wide three pointer no good that at this assists to matter what the final score would be having a late foul probably out of frustration yeah definitely he's tall you don't want to prolong this one any more.
Great great effort by the guys from up in North Georgia.
But Jordan taking the trophy home to Columbus, the first one since 71.
And you got to like that that that school has been around a long time and had some great teams back in the fifties and sixties and for these guys earned it the hard way and Coach Turner clearing his bench getting some of the young kids in society played on a championship team.
None of that played in the championship game.
I think it was Jordan's as you mentioned, their quickness, their speed, the passing ability and this E-4, he was a little guy by the press, just had run into a team that could do all those things.
Well, you're not going to run into many teams that combine the quickness and heads up passing ability.
And I tell you, Terrance Hill had a great ball game, but my MVP in this one is Winfred Ivory.
Without him, nothing happens to that team and they play.
I think he played 32 minutes at 110%.
I would agree him a pleasure to do the game for you again.
Herb, as always, good to talk to you.
The closer you get out there and keeping a perspective on all the games and very much such a very competitive for the most part, and as we've heard a lot of basketball tournament instead of just some great basketball games, all five of the boys championships for the most contested basketball games I've seen.
And since we've been doing these games 11 or 12 years now, it's just incredible.
And it's always some great girls games, too And boy, I tell you, I'm fatigued, John.
Know, you get these games where the juices get flowing, you can't help but get into it.
You feel like you played them.
You keeps us young.
I guess it does.
It does.
It's always good to see that a young talent come up.
And there we go.
The athletic director, as he mentioned at halftime, he was on the last high state championship team, baseball team back in 1971.
They get this win, that championship reign before any game.
Jordan did.
And apparently with world second class lineup superstars out there now it's just a matter of the final two looks to come up and.
It does.
And congratulations And classically down here over East Hall they are your triple AA state boys stats 65 to 53.
Yeah, that was a fun one.
You can't you got to love a team that plays team basketball like that.
And the Jordan River Jordan Red Jackets, 27 boys, triple day champions.
We saw we left with one championship tonight.
The girls, they just been a juggernaut tonight.
