Live from the Macon Center plex and the Macon Coliseum, it is the girls class Triple A basketball championships.
The lady lions of Franklin County from the town of Cartersville at 2082 and the east tall lady Vikings coming in ranked number four with a record of 30 and one.
Good evening, everyone, and welcome to Macon Madness in the center of the basketball universe here in the state of Georgia.
I am Jon Nelson.
I'll be with you here tonight.
And what you have here is a team that came back from four points down with 14 seconds left to get here and a team looking for their first state title in 31 years describing the action for you, Dave Gardner and Dick Williams.
Guys, I'll be down there in a second.
All right, John, I look forward to hearing from you.
You know, Dick, a great match up here tonight.
Looking forward to it.
Of course, Franklin County, the lady Lions in here with all kinds of firepower.
When you think about basketball and you think about these tall normally you think about the boys, but, hey, the girls are here, too.
And they've got a got a great player here, Franklin County, with Mallory.
Kyrie is leading the way.
Yes, indeed.
And this Franklin County team is disciplined.
They play a lot of half court stuff.
They don't like to run all that much.
And I think we've got a similar style from Franklin County.
Absolutely.
From what?
Like he's tall and backwards.
He's tall.
Yeah.
They're going to look at the Lady Lions lineup again.
Harris Kyrie Bryant may fit and Oceana Jackson certainly a player to watch for tonight 22 points per game and they are indeed a fired up group after winning the semifinals.
They're going to look at Holli Wilke in her 11th season with Franklin County, has done a remarkable job.
Yes, he was a great coach down Stockbridge before that.
And then she went to Tennessee and now she's up at Franklin County and got that thing turned around.
There you go.
Let's talk a little bit about East Hall.
Of course, the old lady Vikings come in here.
They've got all kinds of weapons and it starts with a shot.
A wheeler.
Wheeler is averaging 13 points and six rebounds a game.
And she is part of a taller front line for East Hall that I think Franklin County has got to worry about.
Shoshanna Jackson will be surrounded by tall or taller post players.
They're going to look at them Bullock, Harris, Coleman and Wheeler again, Yreka.
Wheeler and shot Wheeler.
Cozens right there.
And they are indeed a strong one two punch without a doubt.
And I think we can look for Oceana Jackson to be double teamed right there, by the way, over Allen Pritchett, 18 years as head coach of the Lady Vikings right there, has done a remarkable job.
His team 30 and one in here tonight and looking for the first state championship since 1985.
Man to throw it down to the court for tonight's introductions, Mr. Eddie Ashley, EPA ANNOUNCER Tim White.
As your home team now have your attention for the starting lineups.
First for Franklin County and forward number one, the five foot six junior Lashonda Murphy on a guard number for a five foot seven.
Sophomore Ashley Harris at guard number ten, a five foot five junior.
Mallory carry at center number 20 to a five foot ten senior associate of Jackson at guard number 24, five foot five Junior Brooke Bryant and Franklin County Head Coach Holloway will here and now for you is Tall Lady Viking and Guard number 11, a five foot six senior Tyler Coleman at guard number 12, a five foot seven senior, Rodney Bullock at forward, a 35 foot 11 senior.
Lisa Coleman at center number 34, a six foot three junior shot day Wheeler at forward number five, a six foot senior, Jennifer Harris and East Falls head coach Alan Pritchett.
So there you have it.
The stage is set for the girls triple-A State Championship, Franklin County and East.
All of you return live to the Macon Center once more.

This is Georgia Public Broadcasting, your PBS station and the steps Franklin County and East to offset the tip.
For more on this when we go courtside Mr. John Nelson.
John.
Thank you, Dave.
This is something you're probably familiar with seeing in the in the introductions.
However you flip the jersey over, you may not necessarily be familiar with this last three or four years.
Franklin County had names on the backs of the jerseys and as a team building exercise, they specifically went to 18 concept and that is what they think Guy says gotten him to this particular point today.
Their first chance at a state title since 2001, which would be their first title in 31 years.
All right.
Thank you, John.
Again, you see the jerseys right there.
And Dick Williams, that's a neat concept right there.
Certainly brings together the whole team with team on the back of all those Franklin County jerseys.
It's a great concept unless you're an announcer and we start talking about the basket by team.
Yeah, well, they may like that.
Now.
It's a team sport and they had it, but their parents watching, their aunts and uncles watching my dad right there.
Absolutely That's true.
Indeed.
Underway here.
And the triple A girls state championship right here on GPB.
They've gonna take Williams with you John Nelson courtside today with us That's not off the mark by the lady Vikings at Franklin back the other way should be a good one right here we've had a lot of great games here earlier today.
A lot of close ballgames right down to the wire.
And hopefully this one will follow suit.
Yes, indeed.
And I think we're going to see inside power games with the twins.
The second option, I'm dead wrong right there, but I think both teams, on account of them, Oceana, Jackson with her first points of the night, the senior averaging 22 points.
The game has certainly been a big reason for Franklin County success in the back.
On the other end, Jennifer Harris, the six foot senior, getting the start tonight, averaging six and she's got East Coast boys.
And again, I think I think what we saw there on Franklin County, maybe going to pull Jackson out a little bit because she is badly outside underneath.
Let's get larger numbers on all that is going to be a great matchup tonight, watching Jackson and Wheeler go at it.
Shot by Jackson off the mark there Harris with the rebound and he's tall back the other way again that's number 11 feel of former VCU and inside right there and Wheeler will draw the foul now just at first glance Dave Shady Wheeler the post player freeze tall this reminds you of someone Alex Clayton Hall Count should bear a resemblance to Tasha Hunt Maybe a little bit, yes.
Now playing at the University of Georgia.
So.
Well, I did a double take when I saw her come out to warm up.
They're going to look at the trolley walk right there where she saw Coach Pritchard long ago.
Really certainly has some of those characteristics that she has made a name for herself.
And there's something about that Hall County area that has produced some great athletes over the years.
We're going to see some more later tonight in that boys game right here.
But right now, the lady Vikings taking center stage in what should be a good one.
In my years on the court watching the one thing about the Hall County kids east on west all they're all confused.
I've always been fascinated by what good shooters they are that would nearly win in right there for Jackson, that she will go to the line to get Jackson with two points here in the early going to foul on Wheeler.
She reached out to us to put her hand on the ball and tried to stay vertical with referee Jamie.
How differently they're going to look at Jackson's numbers on the season eight rebounds to go along with those 22 points shooting 70% from the line and she knocks down the first shot and they're going to look at number 32.
Jericho Wheeler, quickly off the bench, of course, the cousin of shot at both our juniors are doing great so far, great cousins sisters.
We've got a couple more family connections on his talk.
We'll get to those here in a moment as Jackson knocks down a pair.
Yeah.
Keelan Coleman and Lisa Coleman are sisters.
And of course, you have Christina, or rather they're cousins and Christina Harris is there for Harris are sisters there.
So definitely several family connections here tonight.
Nice result.
So Franklin County just went to a zone press and had Oceana Jackson there post out at the top with the guards in the back.
SIMON Coming off the mark back the other way.
That's Ashley Harris with Franklin, the five sophomore controlling it.
The shot put up and it's in there for another 24th look.
Bryant Bryant averaging four days.
He knocks down two in a 6 to 3.
Franklin here again has his own press nicely handled by he's tall no problem at all Lady Lions making their first trip to the city since 2001 that shot off the glass right there and good breakaway this time.
Now Drake is averaging seven points in her own right.
511 there.
So indeed he's tall with some size there inside checked out by Shannon Mayfield.
Number one inside boy great move right there in traffic What a nice move by Lashonda Mayfield around the two tall trees right around the basket scoop up there.
These two all their first semifinal since 1985, winning Samson's 79 and 84 straight wins coming in tonight.
Franklin now out of two, three zone blocking inside position.
Here we go.
Three to reload.
That is worth four points here in the early game.
We learned really tonight.
Look at it.
Look at it.
There you go.
First, Janet Jackson with the shot.
More good and taken down by 20 a bullet.
She's performing the number 34 East tall, probably the best defender there is the trigger right here.
The offensive, Leon, hits for her first points of the night.
It is far wasting no time with trading buckets here with the lady lions and he's tall.
Took the perfect shot in that situation in the Franklin two three zone and they were in effect double teaming the two wheeler cousins and left that short jumper on the baseline on the line wide open the attack that just perfectly 3 to 8 versus region seven here tonight.
Of course Franklin County the number one seed out of a trip away east to all the number one seed out of seven triple inside good look there by Bryant to kick that ball out Now back to her as she pulls the trigger and gets the roll and she's got the shooter's match.
Plus, Brooke Bryant with four points and it's pretty much the season average of the year, so she's off to a fast first quarter and again to zone.
And you see that surrounds the bigger these ball players.
Lady Vikings averaging 54 points a game offensively, which is nothing necessarily powerful, but they play great defense, giving up 33.4 a game.
And any time you have those kind of numbers, you're going to have success.
Looking inside, Wheeler had to stop there to try get it to go.
And now the lady line's back and running the other way.
That's Ashley Harris who dishes off three point shot all the way.
Not quite.
Jacksonville kept it alive offensively blocked and last chance 252 left in the opening period We will step aside and be right back ten nine the score here early Franklin County with a one point lead.

All right, Back here in the class, Tripoli Girls State Championship live at the Macon Center flags.
Dave Gardner, Dick Williams with you.
John Nelson courtside along with the rest of the GPD broadcast crew.
They're good.
Look at Coach Pritchett rallying his east tall Lady Vikings who trailed by a point right now at ten nine Franklin County did go out of the gate here in good shape.
Jackson with four, Bryant with four, Mayfield with two, trying to even it out.
But I think we're still in the sense that each team is cheering the other out.
And I think East Wall is trying to a service rather dominant physical presence inside take away by the lady Vikings that make it easy for it for hall County ready lines making the trek from Farmville and Northeast Georgia.
Lisa Coleman over to Keelan Coleman Cousins feeds on this match run and run.
So there you see an example of the below offense that East Hall brings to the table.
They pull out, they pull a big girl out, got another big girl down inside and Oceana Jackson wasn't enough to withstand that much weight and strength.
And she picks up the foul carry with her first.
There you get a look at Drake and Wheeler's numbers on the season, 6.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and a couple assists for the junior and unable to get the roll there.
So unable to complete the three point play.
But he's tall now a51 man to man defense for his tall Jackson's turnaround off the glass gets a nice quick turnaround.
That was a nice move Shana Jackson with six as we near the two minute mark in quarter number one this all last quarter final was in six last year before the season ended.
Their only loss this year to region four chastity also out of Paul County on that last play he's tall tried to drop it down number 24 for Bryant for Franklin County this one back of the zone and she was just overwhelmed She was five five and lost and Jennifer Harris is six feet.
But there's a bit of a mismatch there as they're that close to the basket.
It's pretty tough.
Any time he can bring to six footers off the bench, that's basically what he's told.
Does Harris want to see all that trip?
He still had another look at the basket that just couldn't make it go.
Now back on the other end.
Wow.
Ashley Harris, what a pretty move by Ashley Harris, the sophomore with her first two of the night.
And boy, that was a tough shot.
Yes, it was.
And that'll if she can do those kind of everybody's going to the basket you can neutralize that size these tall can run, but their bread and butter really is their halfcourt offense, which you're seeing right here.
Pull the trigger from outside, in and out of position under these shots.
Just wouldn't go find Harris Franklin County back at running cross court and they're looking for Jackson underneath He's got it turned around double team and traveling in the court on Jackson Trevon probably gave because she was she was being a little bit pumped.
I'm not saying it was a foul there.
But again, she's giving away a lot of size on that low post.
And that bump broke a rhythm and she dropped Jessica Blackwell in for ease toss.
She was the star last night hitting the game, winning three point shot with 7 seconds left at the field.
He's part of the state championship and he's been more precise shot.
And again, so it's all tied at 14 apiece here inside a minute.
This first period.
And again, looking for Jackson.
She's fighting for possession on the low block and and the defense is up to it this time round.
To the second option.
HARRIS And like this is Jackson open looks strange drop over you their game but I saw Jackson cutting down from that left side and I said ooh that's not working here.
That look good.
That looked good.
She's got eight points already.
The ball game good start for Jackson.
Franklin County leads it 5 to 1614 with time winding down.
He's tall, looking to tie it or possibly go up on in again the zone by Franklin County which opens up the three for east tall Leah Bullock for first points of the night and it's a big one big three point shot that puts the lead back to the lady Vikings and the fourth one out there.
Get Ashley Harris.
Let the clock run out on her right there.
But a good one here after one 1764 up one.
We're back with the number two in a moment.

This is Georgia Public Broadcasting, your PBS station East Tall up by one after one.
As we get set for quarter number two, let's go courtside John Nelson.
John did a little eavesdropping in between quarters here Franklin County the biggest thing they need to work on their help side defense coach walk was emphasizing that in the huddle to make sure things are going well with the zone in the zone press and rocket science from call stop Oceana Jackson back to you guys.
All right.
There you go.
That you have the superstar showing out in that first quarter, shot a wheeler with three points, but very active on the boards and Oceana Jackson with eight.
Well, Franklin County, £2 on Oceana, Jackson and Ashley Harris, that's their scoring, actually.
And then you see the field goal percentage is pretty close to each other after that first quarter.
Right.
And the score also closed just a one point game.
So both teams really matching up evenly early on here.
Three point shot, way off the mark there by Taylor Coleman is.
And the familiar chant arises from the from the crowd pleaser comments really the best three point shooter for he's tall right around 47%.
So I mean you're nearly hitting half the time that it's almost as good as the free throw percentage.
He should get the ball on that one.
Yeah, it's back on the other end.
Harris and Bryant are really the three point shooters for Franklin County again at 39 and 36% respectively.
Lay that three point shot off the mark there by Harris does average 15 points per game missed there and again it started with the board Jackson really gives you that inside muscle that he's going up against a lot of muscle here tonight.
And again, Franklin Campbell is on defense kind of can feel things dropping So let's separate and go for Helix having ripped the out of breath.
Another one blocked it looked like followed her own shot and it's up on top of that scenario to stay with these two.
All right.
For a lot of action under the hoop And that was the smaller he's tall player battling underneath this.
All you see follow the instructor out there trying to throw up another one like the Lions did a good job.
They will get their hands on it without committing the foul.
The shot to tie up in the next one will belong to them.
Right now, you saw a51 working out of the Haskell exit.
Did you see that hollow back in most of the again, you're seeing the pointy shot.
Of course, Hollywood must feel confident that they can make that an indication of these tall suns.
Another new force player in the game, Julius, who had she's six to give up and I think that's what we're talking about.
I mean, you're pulling six footers off the bench.
You know, you got some depth.
But she's come in for Ashley.
She seems to be having a touch somebody on something is the coach yourself.
So DeMar that was the second foul on Jackson says he's going to have to be careful here Still plenty of time left to play in the second quarter for the leading scorer averaging 42 a game as you see from that at the free throw line.
He just has to atone for most offense and he's the best free throw shooting percentage wise on the team, but do nothing to do with Jackson.
Just put a beautiful move on it just a terrific set and right to the basket.
That was a very slick and well done offensive nurse and she's already in double figures that standpoint throws the defender.
That was very nice from him down into the corner shot by Felix on him and it's taken away Malik Kyrie the junior number ten back into the middle of Harris inside and that's Mayfield who had it knocked away responded this lady Lions defense and defense that he's with the shot clock and high school basketball Lisa Coleman was playing well she and Jackson have a little twist inside.
They look like all the old lady Vikings.
no foul on Helix.
All right.
So county off the inbounds three point shot is there for Ashley Harris.
He shoots almost 40% of those five points for Harris here in the early going.
It's time out on the floor called by Coach Pritchett and he's tall, 2117.
He will step aside with him.
We're back with 510 to play in the second quarter.
When we return, live to the make it center flex.

Franklin County up 2117.
A lot of great action over the weekend throughout the course of the two days of our coverage.
And of course last night in Duluth at the Arena Gwinnett Center, it was St Pius beating Mary's for the Quad, a girls title followed by the boys contest that saw Columbia and Soccer go at it.
And was the Tucker Tigers winning that Quarter Boys championship again that last night at the Arena Gwinnett Center and of course five actually belonged to Collinsville.
The number one team in the country defeated South at 6137.
And in the nightcap, it was Norcross with a one point thriller over Centennial.
The place was in last night, 5958, the final there.
And of course, this morning single-A action.
It was Hopkinsville coming back from 20 down to beat landmark Christian and he single-A girls game.
That was followed by the single-A boys game which is also a doozy.
Wilkinson County winning there over Winfield Academy 7975.
And of course on to Double-A action a little bit earlier today.
Gassy handling Wesleyan 73 to 48.
Those two rivals with the Lady Spartans for no over the Lady Wolves this year.
And of course, Manchester winning a thriller on a late three point shot against Dodge County, 57 to 54, their final in that contest right there.
And here we are now in triple-A girls, actually with one more to play here tonight.
He's tall Boys will take on Jordan a little bit later on this evening.
Norcross What an exciting game against Centennial just just one of those great aggregations of talent.
It was a great thrill to watch.
And we've had two terrific games here today with high flying, fast breaking action taken away.
It looks like the foul going to be on Ashley Harris right here who got tangled up with Wheeler.
As you see, Coach will play 11 years of Franklin County.
Lady lives back here in the state championship game making the series back in one.
well, we're going to see a quarter of action, Dave, but I like both these teams in terms of the way they're schooled in fundamentals, the different systems, they change them up and and they make smart plays.
Good defense right there bullet rather Tyler Coleman trying to stay with it And on that play you saw she and Jackson stay out of the frame so she didn't pick up that third foul.
She stayed vertical and left it to her team right here.
It's looking in, Jackson posting up, turn around, tough shot.
Wouldn't go back of the arm and he saw back the other way.
Lots of substitutions for Coach Allen Pritchett.
They like to rotate a lot of different folks in and we'll see a lot of that here tonight.
Looks like a131 zone now for Franklin County.
Again, conceding that corner shot an ace.
Paul is not able to make the shot the defense is giving.
You know, if you're Franklin County, you want to try to make these tough beats you from outside, especially with all that size if you want to play on.
Absolutely possession to the lady lions right here for inbound it underneath those you see three two wheeler back into the lineup and Franklin County will counter with number 14 Kayla Eaton she enters the lineup for the first time tonight.
a55 sophomore, Jesse Jackson, taking a breather today.
We are back in four with three points in that first quarter is good quiet here in the second.
So far, it's coming back into the action here.
Check out three point shot on the way to strong drop down by Phillips very disciplined to these tall they always get the shot they want right here but it's just a matter of hitting those shots.
Well, they're just not getting it from the corner.
Look got the open look.
They've got the look.
But that's because the defense is conceding that.
And that might mean you don't know who else got it And they're not good on that inline.
blocked there by Johnny Wheeler and then they should have stayed with it had a chance at a putback right there they just couldn't do that so call to mind the old coach spoke to Kent so tight she was dominant on that play twice.
First title game in 22 years, three starters, another one from the corner.
That one off the Mark Wheeler kept it alive.
Okay.
Draper Wheeling and a whistle on the floor.
She got tape tied up, their arms got tangled, and as they fought for that ball at the first.
So it's Pritchett looking on.
Is that a lot of success over the years?
A program that's obviously been overshadowed a little bit by the success of the fighting boys.
But again, these lady Vikings certainly making a name for themselves and grabbing a lot of attention as you see zero points in this quarter so far for east wall.
And we've only got 214 left.
They're going to keep shrinking that corner shot until they get it and a little put back right there by tonight.
Access to they have weapons.
The lady Vikings are deep.
You're going to see some players contribute off the bench here tonight.
I think it says a lot.
You know, if you're used to all that, you've got to be very fortunate that it's only 21.
You're only down two right here.
You have even scored until that basket.
What happened there was that was a nice play.
What happened there was the man to man defense by his call backfired.
And today Will's pulled well out from the basket, which opened the driving range right up there.
135 to play in the first half, three point shot on the way from the lady Vikings off the mark by Wheeler and now Franklin County quickly back down on the other end pushing it to Jackson.
I'm going to draw the foul on do it right there.
That'll be the second.
They've got several temples Franklin County, they run the halfcourt set that pushed it there.
I was so surprised they did.
And Jackson drew the foul.
Jackson at the line right here.
Both teams really seem to adapt to the kind of game that you want to play.
The other team, they can adapt to a running style or they can play the half court.
The big first first half here for Jackson with 11 points.
Maybe they'll take the team off the back of her jersey and put Jackson back on board.
Sure.
If you ask her the only reason for her success, she would probably credit her teammates because that's why teams like this are here in the state championship because they play well together.
That's exactly what she is fun to watch.
There's no doubt looking inside Saturday, trying to get the shot off right there.
Kept alive, though.
And there's a three point shot for Jessica Blackwell, who averages about six points a game.
So she's halfway there.
He was the hero of last night's game.
Of course, he's tall, beating Kendrick for the final seconds, 4847.
That three point shot off the mark by Newton.
These calls got to push the ball into the post somehow and play the kick out for the three the way he just did it the corner James is working for them.
Well there's this guy back back threes to Blackwell there it is for 510 JR and has tied it up at 24 apiece inside 30 seconds to play in the half nice comeback here by the lady Vikings too with scoreless for the better part of that 6 minutes in the second quarter but there's rally there's the ball for Jackson Nice flexible rim there kicking that back in 6 seconds left Jackson with three and a half three point shot off the mark it won't go and that will do it.
We've got ourselves a ballgame here, folks.
There's Franklin County, 26.
He's called 24 at the break, a well-played first half pick.
And I tell you what, these two teams back and forth and up and down the floor and we should be in for a great second.
I think this one is going to be a good one.
There's no there's no clear upper hand here.
And and each is adjusting to the other's adjustments very quickly.
They're up there well drilled.
Let's go down courtside to John Nelson, standing by with Coach Wilk.
Thank you, Dave.
The zone in the Zone Press worked really well for you in the first 16 minutes.
You really took advantage.
You really got to ease.
Hall And things were working for them and you couldn't get things going for call in the first half.
Yeah, I mean, we've done real well with that.
We're not doing a very good job of rebounding, not like we should.
And of course they're hitting better outside than expected them to.
So that's going to be something we're going to take care of.
But at the same time, you're getting the same input offensively on your team that you've been getting the same forces that got you here.
They're doing well for you in the first half.
no doubt about it.
They're doing a great job getting it inside.
And, you know, we we need to get it inside a little bit more because I think we can get them in foul trouble.
Thanks, Coach.
Look for your time.
You're up three.
You're two with halftime.

Franklin County up by two here at the half over east tall in the triple A girls state championship basketball game.
Let's go courtside to John Nelson, who's standing by with a couple of special guests John.
Thank you, Dave.
Here with the principals.
We're in the principal's office.
Diane, Tony, Franklin County, Mike Gillum, he's tall.
He's going to have to be prepared for two interviews.
So we're going to go ladies first.
He's already deferred one the ties.
Talk about what this game means to the city of Collinsville in the Franklin County High School.
Well, of course, Franklin County has several cities, Livonia, right, and Franklin Springs, Camden and Carnival.
And we are extremely excited.
It certainly unites us.
And we have a passion for basketball.
And if you know the history of Franklin County, we've had lady champions through the years, years ago.
And so this is a repeat of that.
And we are excited to talk about what else is going on.
It sets Franklin County apart.
In your mind, as you know, academically, what else is going on up there these days?
Well, Franklin County, of course, is a rural area, and we are we're proud of that.
And we have strong FFA programs.
We're working hard school improvement.
It's very important us to be able to compete academically.
And we have students who go to very fine universities and we are quite proud of that.
We expect every child to graduate who comes to Franklin County High School.
Now this is the first chance at a Final Four, I think, since 2001.
This could be the first state champion and ship for this school in 31 years, if my math is correct.
What do you think of the first half so far you're up to?
I think we're up to that.
You go, lady lines.
Yes.
It's exciting.
It's exciting.
And I hope that at the end of the game, we'll be up two or more.
Now with everything that's been going on, I guess talk about how everybody decided to come down from Carnival.
It almost looks like the last person out of town was the one that turned out the lights to get down here tonight.
Well, I'm telling you, that's probably true.
We follow our sports program, we follow our programs, we follow academically.
And I would say that Franklin County is very well represented tonight.
Thanks for your time.
Hang with me.
Let's go to the flip side over here.
Guy is going to have to do two of these.
So this is consider this your warm up round, right?
What is this meant to East Hall to finally have the two car garage as it is with two Cadillacs out there now?
Well, it's really exciting to have two teams in the finals.
Of course, the first time for the girls to make it down in 22 years to the final Four and about 27 years for a state championship.
So we are excited.
Our fans are behind us.
Coach Pritchard's done a great job with his program from top to bottom.
You know, he's losing four seniors this year, but his nucleus is there to come back.
So our JV team was undefeated this year.
Ninth grade team only lost to eighth grade.
Last two in seventh grade was undefeated.
So there's lots of good things happening for the girls basketball program.
And these are all high school.
And Hall County has turned itself into a mecca for basketball up and down the floor for 32 minutes.
Whether it's boys or girls, it's really grown a lot in the last couple of years.
It really has it really.
And that's attributable to our coaches.
Our coaches work hard every day and the kids come out and, you know, give us 110% and you can't ask for more than that.
What else is going on at East Hall that people need to know about?
Well, you know, it's the fan base going, you know, like you said, we have have a great fan base here.
They follow us everywhere we go.
They're really behind the girls this year as far as other things that's going on, you know, our our academics.
And he still stands our academic team this year.
And I think second in the region, our band, we have a great band program.
They continue to get superior ratings throughout.
The state of Georgia, they travel all over the country.
Next year, they'll be going to the Cotton Bowl.
Our football team is on the Andre Baylor are looking for a new football coach.
I'm in the process of hiring one of those within the next couple of weeks.
All right.
Well, I'd like to thank both of you for hanging out with us, Principal Tony.
Principal Gillum, let's send it back over to the other principals.
David Already.
Thank you, John.
There are a lot of enthusiasm here with these two programs back in the semifinals and, of course, into the finals here tonight.
And Dick, looking back at that first half, I tell you what, very competitive as we take a look at some of the numbers.
Exactly.
Both teams, at least Franklin County shooting pretty well.
These ball not shooting well, ten for 29.
And we're seeing some three point field goals drop this afternoon.
The rebound in the rebounding is just about even, which surprises me.
I thought each hall should have a big rebounding edge given all that size.
But the Franklin girls are scrappy and sliding in there and stealing the rebounds out of there and just a couple of turnovers for both sides.
So a pretty well played first half.
As we take a look back at some of the plays that indeed stood out.
And you see, of course, Franklin County, Oceana, Jackson has certainly been the lead story there.
That, of course, Blackwell knocking down a couple of three point shots following the a foot back there from a Chester.
And basically that's pretty much the way it went there.
Again, the superstars certainly standing out there in the park.
The move that we saw by Oceana Jackson was the kind of thing that makes a college coach quiver a little bit because that first step in the fake was so quick and she just was right there to the rim.
And here you get a look at the later buckets there in the second half.
That's when they finally started hitting from the corner.
We finally got some shooting outside from East Wall.
Interestingly, I think the most telling stat of all right there is that Franklin County, that's by far the smaller team leads in points in the paint.
There you go.
Well, tip off for the second half coming up here from the making center playing Franklin County and East tall 2620 for the Lady Lions with a two point lead.
We're back for the second half when we return.

Second half action set from the making centers like Sydney Girls triple-A State championship game Franklin County with a two point lead 2624 The East Tall Lady Vikings Dave Garner, Dick Williams with you, John Nelson courtside along with the rest of the Georgia Public Broadcasting Crew.
Good first half of basketball.
Dick, as you see the officials here, Andy Tower, David Dinkins, Jamie Howard.
Yes, indeed.
Andy Carroll said that he's long been one of the top guys around the state.
And I think what we've got to look for from East Harlem this second half is a little better shooting effort that ten for 29 shooting is not what got them here.
And they should feel fortunate probably to be able to do right now.
Exactly.
Understand all those missed shots from the corner.
They seem to have made the adjustments that will get them out of that trap that Franklin County put them in.
But seems like the lady lions that are pretty much dedicating themselves to that inside game, double and triple and down on a streak and some of those players and willing to take their chances with these tall on the perimeter.
Well again though their big players are being drawn outside because they're in the man to man defense and that may be why Franklin County has been so competitive in rebounds.
If the if these tall Vikings are pulled away from the hoop because of their man to man defense that line.
So in some cases right here on their opening possession in the third period and it's good looking just right there to respond to Mayfield Nicely done.
And the problem there for his tall was that the inside players were basically trying to double team Oceana Jackson and they lost sight of the smaller players slipping in on their on the cuts to the left.
And I'm sure that was certainly a key for east tall in the locker room there and after coming out of the break for good quick it was hey we got to put a body we've got to get something going on number 22, back down on the other end, Mallory Tyree Jackson with the basketball inside Nate Silver and one finish.
Wow.
That was a big play.
And Jackson's value was a good look.
She had a shot, but it was a very, very good look.
And the ball somehow went into the hole.
So nasty in one situation.
You know, you see Jackson inside there as we talked about the inside muscle, five, ten, you know, the senior right there.
Normally on some other teams, he might be the biggest player on the floor.
Did you see Mayfield 6.4 rebounds in the game Make it seven.
But inside they're going up against Johnny Wheeler and Ethan Wheeler.
She she doesn't really look all that big.
However, she's playing good.
She's playing bass, she's strong and she's quick and she's got the wingspan slotted for six foot three.
Yes, is certainly a presence in there.
And of course, you can't forget about Jennifer Harris.
He's also 650, a senior for He's tall.
Absolutely.
There's the corner shot again off the mark by Philip Coleman.
So the follow is there for the Falcons.
Sheer size for the Falcons.
Big mismatch.
And he was able to get the foot back.
Here's Jackson with the jumper and knocking it down 15 points.
She's having a fine game and coach Pritchett will take a time out to discuss what that's all about.
It is a 32nd timeout called by the lady Vikings, Franklin County out of the locker room and leading at 3326.
So east tall trying to regroup here a little bit and trying to keep those runs to a minimum Thursday night at 7:30 p.m.

Of course, wrestling also helping to make up a very exciting winter season in the state of Georgia.
It's not just basketball this time of year.
It's you, North Georgia, guys that are all excited about the wrestling.
Come on that day.
A lot of great teams not only gaining a lot of a lot of support.
That's not off the mark there by Harris Jackson inside pull up shot.
She was so quick even though that didn't go you got to recognize that second stanza when she drove into the Post fans on both sides wanting to foul there is here is Mayfield got tangled up in the corner he's tall is looking low this time they got it We were inside and that time Franklin County came out a little bit on the perimeter and that opened things back up on the inside factor.
But he's tall.
He's clearly looking for a block that time travel going to be called there on Eaton before trial.
He will have another 24 foot client who got ball for footsteps right there.
He's back in what looks to be a23 zone and a very small line out here.
Is the game really using the muscle on the low post because he's on to a double team, three point shot for three or nine points.
Your average junior.
Wow.
The average is seven.
She's got nine back on the other end defense there.
But they're going to get shot after the foul.
It looks like she's got it with the body as she went out.
She got her hand on the ball.
But but she committed the foul with the body.
And she's so much bigger than any other player that the other player goes down.
That's going to be her third.
As you see Ashley Harris at the line right here.
And I think going to see Lisa Coleman, another tall ish player, come in and replace Scotty.
Really, after that third time, we're going to look at Harris's numbers, eight points today, three rebounds again, just a sophomore.
Both these teams going to return a lot of players.
Yes.
As a as the principal of these tall said, the nucleus returns time out on the floor following a pair of made free throws from Ashley Harris.
It's a 3431 game in in favor of Franklin County will step aside be right back with the final 408 in quarter number three.
Stay with us.

Thank you for your support, Franklin County and East for going at it in the triple-A Girls State Championship game.
And it's the Lady Lions from Farmville with a 3531 advantage right now over the lady Vikings with 42 points.
And you see the Franklin County cheerleaders in the house right here, both teams with very exciting semifinal games.
Of course, Franklin County defeating Hardaway last night, 6953.
Of course, Oceana.
Jackson had 24 in that ballgame.
And of course, east tall with that buzzer beater, that thriller over Kendrick.
East Hall's Lady Vikings have got to get Franklin County out of the zone somehow.
They've got to show a little more outside shooting strike two to loosen up that zone.
They're big people are being covered up inside.
Seconds strip away the one class and Georgia that has to play back to back to a semifinal Sports similar again last night right here in this very building.
So really I don't know if it's an advantage or disadvantage.
31 teams since both of them had to go through it right there.
The both teams, the game plan on back to back nights, a emotional semifinal win for East Harlem.
You go they're trying to avoid any kind of a letdown, momentum wise coming into the championship.
I think as long as both of them are playing back to back, it's like, hey, remember these kids?
You got to like us.
Yeah, They're like, Good, They're ready.
Yeah, they're probably used to it with the region tournaments and so forth and playing that or that's Jackson's is that Jackson's 4000?
That's a third, third time to look at it.
yeah.
Good bump there.
Lisa Coleman with the opposition.
Great defense.
Nice defense.
Very nicely done by Lisa Coleman.
322 left, third period, 3531, a four point game and a good one.
Jackson's been out quick and I'm at that time it didn't work Good ball movement right here three point shot short taken away by the lady lions back on the other end Jackson typically down there splits a double team whistle right there look like maybe sometimes activity off face Nice step under he's quick she kind of glides and once he's got that quick step and in that case just up and under the outstretched arm and she's got 15 points and eight boards.
This is on the first big night, though, so far for the seniors.
Sorry, we learned six back into the lineup as we talked about, Coach Pritchard likes to sub in and out a lot, keep players fresh, you know, keep it moving and they might be starting an offensive defense substitution pattern with her because of outside.
Yeah the second one as they're so one of two on that trip 16 points for Jackson here in the third quarter now it's a131 zone defense.
We have the smallest player in the 24th Brooke Bryant in the back of out zone and she's vulnerable back there at only five feet, five battle.
Take it away inside and back to the way by Jackson.
Jackson came out of nowhere to get the rebound.
It nicely done.
Here's Mayfield that one blocked by Wheeler from behind Mayfield stayed with it there and then had it knocked away and picked up by block for my man from behind.
Great hustle right there by Brook Bryant looking down motion inside and gamecocks traveling on the inside and they feel that Walker you know Wheeler she's got to be careful because of those three fouls and that time she did what she needed to do.
She just six foot three, she just put her hands in the air and didn't initiate any contact.
And That kind of forced forced Mayfield into a different a different pattern.
Yeah.
I think Mayfield was surprised the expected trip didn't arrive still in the 131 zone here.
We start really trying to spread the floor or create some passing lanes, rather a near steal by Mayfield.
But home, these totals had trouble.
This one for you.
One she's not in a lot, but once he is, he's tall.
He's not quick to recognize it and and exploit the ball to start off the ball back outside.
Lisa Coleman is battling Oceana.
Jackson there.
They're going at it in there.
You know, look, we have a staff, but I'm wondering how many possessions Jackson has not touched the ball to Franklin County down on the floor.
I think she's had a hand on every every possession at some point.
So the team runs around her.
There's no question there may have been a fast break or two where she didn't touch the ball, but the offense starts and often ends with her.
No question about that.
And the first one is there for Jackson's 17 on the night.
And now Cynthia Bullock.
Well, she's already in the ball game for East Tall again, that's three two wheeler.
So she stepped in there.
You look at the free throw picture again, Franklin County, eight of ten.
He's tall, just two of seven of its.
It will be very important to Franklin County that's obviously Jackson is a target.
She's going to have to make her free throws and it looks like she's got her stroke down and ready to go and she hits two of two on that trip.
It's a seven point game, 3831 in favor of Franklin County back in the 131 zone.
Now, let's see if he's tall, knows how to try to exploit this.
The attack has got to come from the from the sides of the foul line, right and left.
If it's going to work, because the smaller player at the back he was guarding the tall post player got some issues and there this other work for them that they see right there foot on the line Lisa Coleman from outside Allen nearly knocked around but I seen her Jackson's there quick to the ball really stayed with that play right there inside of a minute third period good ball game right here the game with arms extended They got a piece of that one right here and then pull it down.
You hide.
I tell you, she just took it.
That was that.
You know, without three fouls, she might be a little bit more aggressive.
But when you're six foot three like she is, you don't necessarily have to be.
As long as you get those arms up, you're going to make something happen inside on the floor.
So a non shooting foul here.
But they at that time they attacked the back side of the 131 and and got Wheeler a good shot at the basket though she couldn't convert it inside but I think she a coach Holly Walker Franklin County is is playing this 131 zone to protect Jocelyn Jackson's in foul trouble three point shot wouldn't go the fouls there by Wheeler Dame we are this time yeah seven points for Saturday so had three at the break but not a lot of offensive output but like you said a lot of that was credited by Jackson Jackson that's fouls on Oceana Jackson and that is going to be four on hers.
Wow.
And this changes everything.
Absolutely.
She's going to go two player here tonight with 18 points.
She's the only lady line in double figures and she will have to come out of the ball game with 20 seconds left in the third period.
And I don't think we'll see until midway in the fourth.
And it's up to the rest of the her teammates to try to protect this rather slim lead.
But we talked about east calls bench and their depth.
We're going to find out a little bit about the lady Lions, especially with Jackson on the bench for the shot would go in a rich position inside, starting to assert herself now Saturday with nine points.
A little extracurricular activity at the end of the third period and we have got a ballgame, 3837, Franklin County up by one.
But he's tall right back in it will step aside and be back with the fourth and final quarter from the make it center flex will be to you then my myself I can I was I wrote Annie song when suddenly I was hypersensitive to how beautiful everything was by like walking Ray watch John Denver songs best friend Sunday at 1030 on Georgia Public Broadcasting broadcast of This program is made possible in part by the following Wachovia helps our customers stay informed about important issues.

Your PBS station will honor Franklin County up by running to start the fourth quarter.
Let's go courtside.
Mr. John Nelson.
John spent some time in both huddles.
Coach Walker saying that, yes, you're up one, but you've got to continue to do what you've been doing.
You've got to rebound, you've got to box out, you've got to do what you've got.
But what you've done to get yourself to this lead, do not quit in this last 8 minutes, Paul.
They're going to continue to work it inside Dick Williams being the pressing individual that he is.
They're going to work it inside.
But be careful on defense, because since they are so tall, they could get into foul trouble or at least get the look of committing fouls when they really don't.
Back to you guys.
All right.
Thank you.
Job the scoop right there as we open up fourth quarter action live here inside the American Center Flex and Franklin County led it by one after the first quarter, led it by two at the break and they lead by one here.
It opened up the fourth quarter, but he's tall.
You can kind of feel starting to get into a little bit of a groove.
And with Oceana Jackson on the bench, that's certainly not going to help the Lady Lions effort.
I'm going to be called right there on the Shannon infield and throw the ball right back to the lady, find things he will have a chance right here to take the lead.
John Nelson's right.
He said it's time for his talk.
We're going to the standard power game, the standard low post game.
And now they're changing their there to post players high and low, looking for the cut down near the basket.
That pass got away right there so shoddy inside streak that pops out cross-court we're going to shoot the 33 point shot off the mark and did not go fall still alive and kept alive by Ashley Harris.
So the lady lions get the possession right here.
It's a break for friend from counter tough shot by motive wouldn't go and they just going to let that whatever bounce out of bounds.
Yeah I guess the question for Franklin County with Oceana Jackson on the bench with those four fouls is how does the offense work?
She touched the ball so much.
Right.
How are they going to how are they going to get those nice series of passes that get you down toward the rim and the good look at the basket faster.
Number 14 in the lineup for East Tall holding to the hold it right here and back it out to three zone for Franklin County which presents a different look again the post players exchanging high and low shot from outside by Jason Wheeler wouldn't go and if you're Franklin County that's really where you want them sealing the basketball.
Absolutely Previous possession that you saw took a swing on this possession took a top of the key jump shot.
Sometimes I think high school kids have a shot clock in your head because they watched so much college and Pro Bowl and you don't need to shoot.
You can wait.
You can get that extra pass.
You can take Bobby Knight safe passes.
Look, the one found and he called on Coleman right there again, the lady Lions trying to get the ball in a little bit too much body and that's real.
Listen 16 fouls now on east tall so Franklin County will be shooting the bonus fairly shortly and that could be pivotal to Jackson on the bench driving on a whistle and the foul right there.
It was a gutsy drive.
Yes.
She didn't hesitate.
She didn't look at anybody else.
She just came right down Peachtree there.
And it was pretty amazing.
She went up knowing she was going to get foul there.
Sure.
Both hands of the ball ready to just toss it up.
It looked absolutely, absolutely.
Yes.
That is 17 fouls here.
John Harris numbers nine points, four rebounds.
Make it Tennessee and his double figures and joins with teammates accident.
He of course is on the bench right now so some other players are going to have to step up and they may have to turn the players about to answer here.
So I think it's got to be Harris who had 16 points a game.
I think Ashley Harris has got to be the go to person.
Now, one thing about her, she shoots 39% from three point range, but I don't think she's attempted one at least I don't remember a free from her.
They're the ones that have been playing the game down around the rim, trying to back and learn a little bit, kick it back out.
Bad mismatches inside this one from time, but they're fighting and at least Hall's not exposed.
There it is good foul though.
Bonner was absolutely put her on the line She's giving you she's getting about seven inches in height.
There's no way he missed that layup.
Anytime you talk about six three working on five, six or so, you see those numbers, 11 points, eight rebounds, definitely not good.
Okay, cool.
Thanks.
I didn't go to Georgia Tech and learn mathematics.
You told me you got the numbers on Messenger.
Is it either there's a break for Franklin County as they try to hang on to this two point lead these dogs that want to travel right there?
I tell you what.
So this family lives their mom were you take that ball inside against those bigger east players.
I'm not the the Mayfield was from a real scrappy game number one in the green uniform but she hadn't been able to convert those shots.
She is a scrapper, though, and she's not afraid of the inside.
And she's guarding a big post player every time down possession will stay with east.
All right.
Here's see coach will look looking on 537 to go in regulation 4030 8a2 point game but you got to think the more time that runs off that clock, Franklin County, it's going to kind of go in their favor a little bit because.
That's going to be an even quicker return for Jackson into this lineup.
You got to wonder how long they'll go before they they bring her back into play.
And on the back foul on Terre Benson, these tall because the Franklin County player the smaller player who's going to the line where Shana mayfield had possession and and Bentley fouled it from behind but impressed with Mayfield she's got a quick first step very fast plays all over the court.
Scrappy and tough.
Seven points tonight six rebounds for the junior.
Make It eight So she's set over her average here this evening.
She and Ashley Harris are picking up the slack rather nicely from Oceana.
Jackson talking, talk about rebounding and inside player.
It's more attitude almost than it is hype or anything else.
Just Franklin County team has attitude and now modest pressure in its own press.
She hasn't shown that in a long time which which forces these tall a running clock on every possession.
Now the first up side would for true wheeler and back on the rebound there Lisa Coleman with the football six points for Coleman and he's tall back with it a pair 30 to 45 minutes to go back on the other end Ashley Harris drive a little bit short third down by zero but you got to get bailed out by the offensive line.
But should you get the ball to the rim, that's two or three times now.
She's just decided, I'm driving you're going now turn around and boy three two Wheeler wanted the three point play right there but as it is she will go to the line she's got a chance to tie the ball game here take another look inside here.
That foul going to be on Kelly first second more my take missing on the first and here comes today Wheeler they're going to use the big double post again Yeah you replace the six two with a63 you Jose Rodriguez numbers right there nine points flirting with double figures here and four rebounds for the junior tonight both Wheeler's are juniors and Drake the first to reach double figures out of the two.
All right so Saturday with 12 and so deep Georgia remember now that Franklin County is in the bonus double shooting one on one for the next two for the next foul and then they they go to the double those 18 fouls against these are just the Blackhawks getting back in the lineup for the lady Vikings right here she comes out to get the job wouldn't go Jackson Garrison intimidation there it was just what's that big thing up there?
That's a hand.
Look it inside.
Turn around.
Junior follows her own roadside up and in it's going for 14 points to Saturday.
Really sees she's called first lead in a long time ago 4342 Great game going on down the stretch right here.
A kick ball will stay with the lady Lions with exactly 4 minutes to play.
But coming up a little bit later on tonight, these tall boys will take center stage in our reaching finale against the Jordan Red Jackets.
And certainly Boys State championship.
Right now, the ladies taking center stage.
They've had some remarkable games over the weekend.
And we've got another remarkable run right now, Justin Fields like a lion job to me.
How how is good looking guy here?
Loud and clear here, 13 points for the sophomore and she's showing now that's another tough test still got a couple of she has a tough game 11 games in two days live right here on TV that's a whole lot of program back to the 131 zone This time it looks like Harris is the run under the basket being protected now going to be tight on Coleman Field Coleman intercepted Wilson Jackson to the basket which took the touch a little bit and getting that foul time out on the floor right here called by coach Pritchett and a lady Vikings control by 144 to 43.
It's related back and forth Franklin County is basically led at the end of each quarter.
He's tall has led it a couple of times here but for the most part, man, this thing has been nip and tuck all the way.
Well, and again, Paul still got a great chance here and they're very much in the game because that power game is starting to happen for them.
So we hope you're enjoying our broadcast of this GHC state basketball championship.
Now you show your appreciation and support by becoming a member of GPB.
It's easy and totally secure.

And we hope that you will become a member today and keep programs like those on the air.
And I will say it again watch TV.
Does the high school football televising all those state semifinals freedom and and this event in March is just for basketball junkies like me.
Don't make any plans on those weekends be football basketball on there.
Third, look at the free throws percentage right here again, 32, 54, 87%.
And that's really where the game when you start getting late the last few minutes, really the staff is going to jump out as they had to do at the line of his ball.
The situations and the edge is obviously going to the lady lives here and this 10th grader is really scrappy.
But she's focused on her alone, intimidated by the prospect of being on the state title game.
We talked about that earlier tonight.
Some of the younger players sometimes don't know any better.
The next to be nervous.
What do you mean?
I'm supposed to be nervous?
It's just a game, right, kid?
It's just a game.
It's like playing in the driveway, right?
You know, we're talking about the you're talking about the basically the way the lead that went right there.
Of course, the fouls there you see the story there.
One more on East Tall of the double bonus.
The rest of the way right there with the time out situation right there.
And of course he's tall has not yet gotten into the bonus That could be a factor to 131 zone is is Oceana Jackson in the back row where presumably she won't pick up that foul and there's a three point shot by Jessica Blackwell, her third three of the night.
And it's all tied up at 46 inches under 3 minutes to go here as some of Lincoln Center class make them that is considering as Jackson went to the hole right there and she will earn another step at the line.
She's now seven.
A field goal is here tonight, but boy, she is making a living at this drive and she continues to convert.
It's going to be a tougher and tougher freestyle.
But at some point, Franklin County is going to have to get back into their offense as well.
So this one is there for Jackson.
She's got 19.
Well, it's Money Time now or inside 3 minutes.
So it's Money Time.
This is who I think I'm wrong.
I'm right.
They supported me while picking up her fourth foul Jackson one of two on that trip they get Coleman with four so they really were three but only two and a half to play.
So Coleman will stay in the lineup right here.
He's got six points tonight, one time zone defense, one post player, and that's us today with a shot where she's working hard on that low block.
But she gets double cover every time she moves to the block.
She crosses the lane.
And that one, three, one zone, two players pick her up.
And even though they're smaller, they're they're denying the passing lanes to your bullet.
12 three point shot on the way short from Coleman and the foul Jackson.
I think it's that Jackson that's five it is 16 points for per shot a wheeler she will go to the line a chance for a three point play wow now now they're going to get Brook Bryant for that one.
It looks okay.
Okay.
Flying going to pick up her first tonight.
We've got a 32nd time out on the floor, 48 to 47, east tall and Franklin County first coming up here a little bit later on the triple AA boys state championship.
The Jordan Red Jackets taking the east tall Vikings.
Of course, the crowd will stick around here.
Of course, the lady fighting crowd.
And I watch the guys that actually get that coming up next live right here on.
I don't think the fans at home are able to hear all this, but the East Hall fans have got some interesting, well choreographed cheers and and they've filled the better part of both sides of the arena, I think.
I said Jordan is actually jerking the red jackets.
I didn't want to say anything because I know you're from Georgia.
So yeah, it's kind of like the Hall of Fame.
Lafayette Exactly.
Yeah.
And how come Johnny Depp Friday reiterate that I'm not going to down, but I'm a witness.
You said, James, you said kind of a mix.
Yeah.
You're okay, Zach Under 2 minutes to go.
There's Jackson.
Scott Winslow makes it on the foul.
Had it blocked that pulled it out of the and kept it alive So Franklin County will keep it going Played it right there and a block by Wheeler again Ashley here is coming in Matt nice block nice by a by Wheeler Lady Lyon fans want me to foul there but I think we've got to got a handle on how she got the ball no question about it You see it right here She's got the ball she's so big and strong that Mayfield was slightly off balance, went down steps but is on the floor right here.
And that is going to be five on Oceanic Braxton.
So she will foul out tonight with 19 points and with 120 to go, the lady lions are going to have to lean on Ashley Harris and respond to Mayfield and Jackson.
Again, the senior 510 senior will leave the lineup here tonight.
Great effort, though, for that young lady.
I tell you what, she should be commended.
Terrific game.
And the other problem with the foul is that now he's tall of a shoot, a one on one and they've got to hit him and Hassan is successful.
All right so here's your you up so look five six senior at a time out on the floor call by the lady lions 120 left in regulation we've already seen one game go to dare I say, overtime today.
All right.
We've had some good ones Of course, that game, the A single A boys game.
That's all.
Wilkinson County in the Ft. Whitfield Academy.
They're 79, 75, if you like.
Racehorse basketball was your game up and down and above the rim.
Take a look at some of the numbers here in the final 120 again, the time out picture there, a couple of 60 seconds timeouts left for East Tall, three for Franklin County and we're the a foul picture there again the double bonus against East Harlem right here.
So again, both teams pretty much for the free throws rest of the way.
It could come down to that right here 22. game that might very well decide this class triple state championship.
We've got Bullock on the line for east wall She's a senior she should be used to these situations There's the free throw picture again five of 12 for east tall as we talk about not quite as strong as that 16 419 effort from Franklin.
Yeah he's sitting below 50% line and doesn't have the confidence but now it's 50% So the Bullock shooting the first he'll have another three point game in favor of the lady Vikings trying to make it a two possession game right here and it says Bullock with five 5147 So now the pressure is on the lady lions a little bit to convert although they've got plenty of time a minute 13 eight need a three point shot but they do have some three point shooters we just haven't seen them in the style of offense they're playing tonight this afternoon.
It'll be a little defensive line here, but at some point they are going to have to run that offense and give up the shot.
Five winding down under a minute and a take away right there by Lisa Carman.
Last night it was East Harlem who failed five four with about 40 seconds left and came back and won the game and a foul going to be caught on Taylor.
Even her third with just 41 six on the clock, had the foul to stop the clock and I don't know if from the Franklin County line perspective that they found the right person because that's the only way on your Bullock has made a couple down time out on the floor right here with 41 so now success match pretty much it's a chess match with the clearly the Edwards with a four point lead Franklin County's got a foul on no question about that.
Franklin County also seems unable to run any kind of of a cohesive or coherent offense at this point without Austin Jackson.
And it's it seems to be more of a reaction to Mayfield and Ashley Harris looking for their own shots and looking for a one on 1a1 on one opportunity.
And I think the other advantage for East Hall is that I would be surprised if take any kind of smart off the low block.
Why would you say, why don't you just keep pounding down to Sidney Wheeler and Erica Wheeler and the other big players?
Those two are in now.
They've just got such a size having huge size advantage.
There you see it.
Third and east talk coming up immediately following the conclusion of this one here, right here on GPB.
Love again.
Stay with us.
As championship weekend rolls on and it has certainly been make it madness.
This is the biggest crowd I've seen for a whole day.
And they are making fun of the free throw dial and Ebola, just six points today, three for three from the stripe.
Big day for these seniors.
You said a nice smile on your face after the first lady, another nice smile for a fourth on this drive, 5347.
And now all of a sudden the lady lions are going to have to throw up a three point shot here.
EATON off the mark right there, kept alive.
I took it back out, taking it inside boards and traveling.
Going to be called on.
HARRIS And no argument from coach Holly Wilke on that ball All right.
Here's the pressure, man to man pressure this time you saw and he's beaten gotten across and the foul committed by Metzger for 19 seconds is all that remains to make three for two right here with pretty much with which you would have to be anything can happen still basically a two possession game if you look at it with a couple of three point shots.
But a made free throw right here and all of a sudden you stand up three possession game is shot, a wheeler goes out well and the three possession game is doable me at this point but they're not running the offense.
They're not they're not getting good open looks and the roll for at least that Coleman and that's sitting next to what the seniors are getting this opportunity the pressure back time the line Coleman and Bullock playing their last games freeze call getting a chance to say I nailed the coffin shot both these teams with an excellent class of seniors that both teams last year amongst the underclassmen coming back and I'm I'd be surprised if we didn't see Franklin County and east half back in the mix come next year.
I think you're right good ball clubs 5547 with 90 seconds left a timeout right here and I'll tell what it has been a great game as we talked about Franklin County again, trailed by one after the first quarter led by two though at the break, led by one after three periods, but east tall with a90 run in the last 209 that's taking control of this game.
Well, despite the final outcome, if I were picking a high school team in Georgia.
Oceana, Jackson of the Franklin County Lions would be on it.
So, yeah, she's a she's a marvelous athlete.
Quick, good leaper.
But in this game, Dave, I think if we fall as that looks like it's going to fall right now, though, anything can happen.
I got the suspicion that this is a simple case of where height and power beat finesse.
Franklin County was a tough road through the playoffs.
They beat their rival Hart County in the quarterfinals in the first part of the last night in the semi as these tall knocking off number one Carrollton is a three point shot by Ashley here.
So the lady lions are still breathing some life here on the three point shot after that shot was so far out, I thought Ashley should get four.
Give her four for that one.
But they don't.
She gets three.
So it's still a five point lead freestyle two possession game and only 10 seconds left.
He's tall again, knocking off Carrollton, 6153 30 the number one table and of course, the emotional win last night by the lady Vikings who trailed by four late with really just seconds remaining and got a big three point shot to a win the game from from Jessica Blackwell and with about 7 seconds left those were her only points of the night.
Tonight, though, she hit 33. shots for a total of nine.
And so the Wheelers, the Post players have combined for 27 points.
And that's the power game.
That's where it is.
And I guarantee you at the end of the game, that stat about points in the paint will be reversed that we saw with Franklin County having the edge in the first half.
And that was no shame.
Jackson That's going to be completely reversed.
It's a power game in the second half and you know this right here, they get it in quick foul by the lady lions.
3 seconds off the clock.
They're so down to seven.
Still a two possession game and possible not likely, but possible.
You never know.
There was a couple times where folks have counted out the people this weekend and they came back and won it.
We saw that early this morning in the first game of the class AA girls game.
I could go.
It was down by 20 at one point, down 16 to 6 and a half minutes to play.
They might have won that game over Landmark Houston by one.
And here's another scene.
Just as key a crown.
So a third consecutive trip to the line by a senior for me is tall and they've all converted their opportunities.
You see a killer calling to complete this next one.
And I think we can pretty much say turn out the lights.
Helix only becomes the eighth different lady Vikings to the her name on the score tonight Fitz a pair of seven point game time winding down three point shot right here is off the mark by evening that will do it drew three style zeroes on the clock and the celebration isn't it big four as the tar lady Vikings claim the 2007 triple-A state championship.
These tall eight of eight at the line in the last 2 minutes proved the difference here tonight, Franklin County with a great effort here and a great effort from Oceana Jackson but he's tireless games with the title.
We'll take a timeout.
Be right back.

John Nelson is standing by with the winning coach.
Thanks, Dave.
First state title in 27 years.
How does it feel?
it feels great.
It really does.
I've been there 14 years and this is what we've been working toward and these girls have finally done it.
US.
It was hanging on and hanging on and hanging on.
Third and fourth quarter in the power game and the hype finally did it for you?
Well, we came out and kind of just fell into there playing a lot of shoot it from outside.
We were hitting our shots.
So the plan at halftime come out and establish our inside game.
The girls were a lot more patient and that's really what did it turn the defense up there at the end and make plays?
Go ahead and hit the free throw.
What does it mean to all these seniors to get this championship and have their name etched on that trophy?
this is great for them to come out and start from for four years.
And, you know, going mean a lot.
And I'm sure that they have a really understood it yet.
But, I mean, this is a wonderful, great win.
Thanks.
Thanks a lot, Coach.
Thanks for your time.
Congratulations, Coach Pritchett.
