It's the G8's A-class triple-A semifinal between the North Hall Trojans 13 and from Region seven, triple-A versus the Cairo Sirup Makers 12 and one from Region one three, a visit.
Game eight of ten this weekend.
All live right here on Georgia Public Broadcasting.
Good afternoon, everybody.
This is Tommy Farmer along with Ryan Chambers.
We're set to bring you another great 888 matchup between the Karo sirup makers and the North Hall Trojans.
The winner of this football game will meet Carver of Columbus next week for the state triple championship.
RYAN Great athletes on both sides of the ball with both these football teams going to be a good one.
Should be a good one.
Tommy You have two programs that took two different routes to get here.
Caro First time since 2000, but the program has a lot of background and a very storied tradition program.
The North Hall 51 years they've never been here.
And quite the experience, the fans, the coaches and the entire program we're going to get today.
We'll start offensively with Caro and the quarterback that makes everything go.
Mr. P's, he wears number 17.
Angelo Opie's the junior quarterback.
I call him the playmaker coach got him the difference maker after a very emotional win over Charlotte in the playoffs this season.
He certainly makes the team go.
All of this in his first year is starting under center for this carom maker ballclub.
And then you got Jonathan Bryant and the dual guy wide receiver, defensive back three touchdowns offensively for this Caro ballclub.
But it's defense Tommy where this kid shines four iron five pass breakup certainly a very special play on both sides.
We asked Coach Tom Pham of the Caro sirup makers what we could expect out of this football team on offense and defense today.
On offense, we're based out of the formation.
We try to utilize the fact that we have two good running backs, one that rushed for a thousand over a thousand last year.
He's got over a thousand getting this year and then he's backed up by another guy that carried football for 800 yards.
This year, we will go into the gun formation, run some zone runs.
We do have a quarterback that can throw it as well as run it.
So we like to take advantage of him on defense.
We're we're pretty simple team.
We're an eight man front team.
You know, we try to teach our kids to do their job and respond to abilities.
And we keep it simple and we run the football.
And athletically.
Tommy, just the same thing on the other side.
This North Hall ball club has got one heck of a running back.
And Mr. Wolfe, you take a look at one of two as far as the twins go for Wolfe, Hunter Wolfe rushed for 279 yards.
And those are impressive numbers.
But the most impressive numbers, 510, £190 frame.
This kid squats £505 and all that strength he get from the squats, that lower body.
And you'll see those motors at leg running today.
Jaxson Griffith, number 53 on the defensive end, seven quarterback sacks, 15 tackles for loss Even found a way to get an 80 of the speed rush.
And if Carroll is going to have success on offense, Tommy, they're going to have to find a way to get that speedy defensive end out of the defensive backfield.
Formidable opponent in Cairo, Coach Bob Christmas tells us how North Hall will attack that offensively and defensively.
Well, offensively, we're we're pretty basic.
We we run it out of a wing t we're somewhat multiple out of our formations.
But you're going to see the same pretty much the same plays out of each formation and pretty, pretty simple what we do and we try to try to do a good job with it.
And defensively we're multiple, we base it out of an eight man front for four and but we've been a 54 or 64 to 30 front and so pretty multiple out of that we we don't like to say too much.
We're, we're a base technique type of team.
Try to get as many hats to the ball as we can caro.
Out of the southern portion of the state north fall out of the northern portion should be a battle royal.
Ryan Sure.
And it is just the fun part of of high school football in the playoffs.
Two teams from completely opposite parts of the state getting to match up here in a neutral field.
The Georgia Dome well with different philosophies as well.
Offensively and defensively.
Certainly should be one heck of a. Ballgame.
Sure.
Let's go down to the sidelines and talk to the third member of our crew, Gerald Olivera, who will bring us up to speed on what's going on down on the sidelines.
Gerald Hey, Tommy.
Both teams prepare for the games.
Today's game by practicing on field turf.
Carroll went down to Florida State on Tuesday and North Wall went over to Roswell yesterday.
You mentioned different philosophies when they play football.
They also have different philosophies of motivation.
Christmas told me that he told his team that they might never get an opportunity to be here again, so they need to seize the moment.
Coach Law said he really didn't have much to say.
If they're not already motivated, then there's not much he can say to get them there.
Tommy.
Good afternoon, everybody.
Caro Sera Makers, North Hall, Trojans.
Nice to have you along.
The winner of this one, as we told you, meet Carver of Columbus for the State triple-A championship.
Ryan Chambers provides the color line, You're fired and ready.
I know Norm Hall's fired up.
What a.
Great crowd.
And the dome here this afternoon at North Hall, we talked to some of the folks from Gainesville and.
All the support because of this is so new for North Hall.
This is such a new experience for this entire program.
So you need them to show up and care.
What a drop, you know, I mean, hats off to the Carroll Club for showing up here today.
That's not the easiest and shortest of.
Drives up up north here to Atlanta.
A lot of RGB and a lot of green should be great.
Garrett Godwin will kick it off for Kyra and Victor.
See for North.
Hall, though, the hops crow with the black fans, white jerseys, red helmets, north hall, green, high driving pick at the 800 wolf down a block and then knocked down at the 21 yard line.
A lot of speed on both sides of the ball.
Crow lips by defense, north hall lips by offense.
Ryan, what are you expecting?
The initial series, the first five minute flurry, Fabian Jackson, 37 out of 62, 933 yards, 13 touchdowns, but the key point here is only one interception.
I expect to see Fabian Jackson try and just control the offense.
You don't want to get out here in this first time in the dome and get to fancy early.
I don't think Fabian Jackson looks over a four man front first man through Hunter Wolfe on the carry across the right side.
All right.
Here is they.
Lined it up this way y'all.
Alford Haynes passage and blitz up front in the backfield Epps Wolf Wolf the horse and Allen an offense that through the regular season averaged 51 points per game.
Second down and about five and a half.
Jackson brings it back to wide, right single step back on a winning formation, going to follow the lead block and get a first down up to the 31 yard line Jackson on the carry.
CARO On the other side of the ball in that four man front Perkins Bennett Williams and Robinson BOTTESFORD Bryant Elkins and Wilde are your linebackers and the secondary.
Jordan Shine and Bottesford first down ten now North Hall and the initial possession short slot to the right glove right up the middle got a block.
And the point of attack Bobby Epps right.
Up the middle Great blocking up front by North Hall at the point of attack.
I'll take a look at it.
Yeah, take a look at this.
Tommy fullback Bobby Epps is really what's made this offense go for all the talk that you get about the two wolf boys and certainly deservingly so.
But Bobby at 16 carries 131 yards and it's a very good Perry team here in the playoffs to get him here.
27 yards on that carry for Epps first down North Hall on the move down at the Caro 41 full wing set whistle on the play flag goes down somebody moved either on the defensive or the offensive side encroachment on the defense.
Chuck Adams is your referee.
Today the ball enforcement on defense.
Mike first thing.
First down and five in addition to Mr. Adams, Barry McCreevy, Woody Sharrett, Tim Jackson, Henry Evans, Jeff Tetrick out of the Atlanta Peach State Football Officials Association, first down and five wing team with a wide receiver, Dylan Wolfe on the carry great defense by the Serb makers.
Jonathan Shine on the initial hit.
It's good at four four defense you're able with that to have four linebackers you kind of spread out that core.
You don't have to rely on so much lateral movement out of your linebackers.
It'll be that obvious a little bit better against the run.
Cover the lanes, cover the lanes.
The running lanes last was 3/2 down and about nine wide slots to Jackson's left and a lot of field out that way.
Dylan Wolfe on the carry down to about the 30.
Eight yard line.
At linebacker Bryant did a good job Yeah he was sitting in the slot if going to cover your slot receiver if he took off down that way initially he read run all the way and he stepped up right in the lane.
Took a very good angle to make the tackle there.
It's about a 42 by 43 yard.
Line counter trap will bring honesty to any defense third down and five Fabian Jackson Wyant slot to the right single set back as Epps Jackson rolling to throw pressure.
Excellent excellent move Napoleon Garland knocks him out of bounds but that's an athletic play.
There.
Jackson Certainly is.
And he takes advantage of the extra man to five man front, Jackson with the extra linebacker standing up front getting downfield and Jackson able to make a little headway breaks.
One tackle.
Great foot speed by Jackson that's an individual.
In and around and running for 27.
First and ten down at the 27 yard line Jackson looks over that five man front Bobby Epps, the fullback right up the middle.
Cairo defense jumps up in there with a stop.
Logan Bennett, one of the first ones in there.
At six two £215 senior is closing in on 2000 career rushing yards for this North Hall offense.
Second down and nine.
The thing that you have to understand about North Hall is they definitely burn it up and down the field.
If you score 51 a game, you can move the ball to give it to Hunter.
Wolfe and Wolfe met in the backfield by Terrell Perkins excellent defensive play by the crowd Defensive end.
And Perkins just shedding that first this guy pretty quickly he was there almost on the point of snapping the ball not a whole lot you can do offensively.
And Perkins is breathing down your neck three yards behind the line.
Perkins, with 40 tackles on the year eight, thrown four losses and two sacks on the year.
Very active defensive player.
Third and long.
Jackson going to run the option Got a hole at right guard and right tackle Great surge Bottesford brought him down but a great surge by the north hall line of.
Scrimmage.
Again, we talked about this yesterday in our triple play matchup.
When you run the option, so much is predicated on good decision making and that's what you hear out of Jacksonville North Hall guards.
Is it good decision making?
You watch from behind the line of scrimmage?
The initial read is obvious.
You see the tackle crash down on the fullback and you see what is pretty much that for a hole left tackle open up and Jackson.
Made the right call there fourth down and about six and a half Jackson looks over that five.
Man front motion going to call timeout going to think this one over so far.
Come out north hall first time out.
Excellent offense and excellent defense no score in our game Ryan pretty much what we expected.
No score 554 left in the quarter, no score.
North Hall and Caro will be back at the Dome in just a moment.
And I think north wall nothing initial drive of the game by north hall and they've kept the ball for a while fourth down and about seven and a half yards to go keep possession down in the ballgame.
And your initial drive Ryan has to be a good one.
No mistakes here on fourth down.
Yes.
I mean, it's all about field position right now.
You might not pick up this first down, but you've driven it down to the 25 and you're going to force Caro to play on your terms.
Now.
Fabian Jackson looks over a four man front rolling.
Throwing complete to Andrew Heck.
I don't think he got it.
Great, great screen.
Yeah.
Jake Elkins, a six over £190 linebacker, 88 tackles on the year.
You say he is not faked out a lot of the career guys went with the roll out Jackson just turn around screen pass coming back the other way but Elkins part of a crew they're also.
Jonathan shine.
Shine on the.
Tackle yes so Caro holds the ball, goes over and the sirup makers go on offense and let's see how Caro responds.
Great defensive surge.
By Caro I Formation Two tight ends.
He's the quarterback.
Up front for Caro.
You've got Brown and Powell at the tackles Gainer and Young at the guards.
Palmer is the center in the backfield.
Your running backs are Bryan and Johnson they're wideouts Brown and Bryant and you're tied in is Anderson the gain was 1/2 and nine.
I formation one single setback in the slot for the right.
Going around the option and people turn.
It up and got a block of the corner piece out of bounds up near the 45 yard line man did.
He turn the corner.
Like he was shot out of a rocket?
Look at this.
The speed he has coming down the line, he sees an opening and looked like he wanted to turn at one corner, but he got the block, fall off, fallen to the outside.
I think he thought the block was going to take him to the inside.
16 yard run.
No need for the option pitch in that one, folks.
When you get a gap between the tackle and the defensive end like he got there, you turn it up and you go.
And he did.
This brings him up.
It's going to spread North Hall defense out and go to the California look West Coast offense look looks like somebody jumped on the right side over there the snap a little late coming in.
This is a multiple offense you'll find that most teams may run a traditional.
Offense there ball false start on the offense remains first down.
Here's how they look on the defensive side of the ball for North Hall Alford and Griffin up front along with passage and will.
But backers are Humphrey, Wolfe and Sprague and in the secondary you've got the has Duncan Wolfe and Jackson five guard penalty first down and 15 movement up front West Coast look on offense counter dove to Reginald Bryant up across the 35 of the 36.
As I was saying most teams play a traditional offense like you'll see North all play the wing tee and you've seen Cairo line up and the formation.
But nine times out of ten today most teams will have this particular wide open offensive to spread out defenses just in case somebody loads up on.
Tom and we talk about the offensive talk all in the pre in the intros, how much they averaged as far as offensive goes.
But defense is only allowed double digit scoring four times their max 22 points to a very good Gainesville team.
Cross-town rival, the very good defense lining up for the undefeated Trojans.
Good defensive surge by North Wall as you saw their second down and 11 piece brings them up.
Simms, a man in motion, rolling, looking to throw.
Got a man right down the middle.
Jonathan Bryant on the reception.
Young Mr.
Piece has been impressive running the ball and now look at this Howitzer shot that he fires down there.
Takes it the man in motion got all the time in the world, shifts a few steps to his left, look at the balance, hit him in stride, could have done any better.
59 yard pass completion down to the five.
Look at that.
Arm.
He could not have thrown that ball any better than he did.
You can run a little and you can throw a little bit if you can.
You're dangerous.
We may see some points today.
Come out, Kyra.
So first.
Caro going to take a time out here.
Both teams have shown offensive prowess in moving the ball.
Now let's see what Caro does down in the red zone.
North Wall almost made it to the red zone on their initial possession.
And I think it's going to be one of these kind of games where defenses have got to assert themselves because it's obvious both sides of the ball have great offense.
Yeah, and we talked about the difference in philosophies.
You got four wide receivers out for Caro.
You're going to have that wing bone option from North Holland.
Two different ways of getting in the end zone.
Both teams have done a fantastic job of this all season.
Long, offset on two tight.
Ends, one wide receiver piece gets to the tailback.
Somebody jumped the flag, went up in the air.
Reginald Bryant on the handoff.
We were talking as the.
Big ball goes on, the offense remains first down.
We're talking the offense.
That one goes against the offense in the open.
Tommy, two teams that get to play each other from different areas of the state.
It's such an unbelievable atmosphere here.
30 hours of football and I guarantee you, there's some folks I know back from the mid-state that probably watched all 30 hours of this thing, taking advantage of a wonderful, wonderful thing that he does every single season here in the semifinals.
All right.
Here we go first.
And goal from the ten he's going to hand to the tailback down to about that on Reginald Bryant.
You would think just looking at this sea of red on the far side away, the Cairo crowd, tremendous heritage down there in North Hall down below.
You know, it was funny.
Caught me off guard when, you know, preparing for the game.
I did not realize it had been since 2000 this team had been here.
Because you think, Carol, you think that team goes deep every year.
And it kind of took me as a shock to this is the first time, Tom, since 2000, the desert maker ballclub have made the trip.
Up here to the Georgia Dome.
Always a very good football team piece looks over the seven man front, going to fake the option.
And fall down back after 12, almost pitched but decided to wait.
Tried to go to the left, but unfortunately nowhere to run.
He got the seal block from Jonathan Bryant from the receiver.
You'll see right here.
The piece had room to go.
He had room to tossed.
See that?
Look at that block.
Would have been two on one right there and you have to commit a piece saw that safety help lurking around the five yard line trying to come back the other way and got the old carpet monster third down.
And goal at the 12 piece brings.
Him up shotgun look three wives no call and that four man front direct snap.
Piece throws.
Off the fingertips of Bramble and Anderson down at about the nine and a whole lot.
Of spread turf in front of him.
If he hauls it in.
Well, it's a good idea.
You slip your backer out there because you had two wide receiver split out to the left.
Both of them had ran away from each other into the end zone.
So you're taking some personal personnel away from the ten to the end zone.
So a good play call there just was not able to execute.
29 yard field goal attempt now by Garrett Godwin James Wilcox.
Will hold high snap, very high snap and more ball picks it up Robert Murphy Humphrey 58 yard touchdown return Robert Humphrey Take another look.
Heisman never had a chance like that.
Once it bounces young, Mr.. Humphrey picked it up and actually had an escort squad.
That's painful because that's.
A nine point turnaround right there.
Look at that.
Oh, they're excited.
Jake.
Done.
Well, attempt the point from placement Good Snap kick is up fan the kick is good Nora Paul capitalizes on the first miscue of the game North Hall seven.
Carolina thing let's take another look at it a high, high snap.
Humphrey, the sophomore picks it up and you got a split decision there.
Tommy drew a fall on it.
Or do I have enough room to go?
Because there's a lot of people that made that for taking that chance before and if fortunate, who kicked it a little bit.
And that is a sophomore.
And he will never, ever forget that.
A lot of Santa hats in the house tonight.
I will tell you this.
When Humphrey got.
It, he had an escort.
I bet he won't wipe that smile on his face for another two weeks.
Picked it up at the 40.
Two yard line.
So what would have been a 29 yard field goal attempt turns into a 58 yard touchdown for North Ball.
Jake Dunn will kick it off for North Ball.
Jonathan Bryant deep to receive for Taro Ball falls off the tee.
Gets the win Must have got it.
Yeah that's a decent.
Hard blue and they see it.
Here the double done the forward high drive and get nice kick Xavier Jordan at the five got a block up across the 31 yard line They.
Had the wedge set up pretty well there Tom.
Great return good kick by North Hall, one of those hard driving kicks.
Look at the wedge.
This initially set up at that wall.
The left side of the wedge had a little hard time staying afloat there.
By the time he hit the throw.
At the 31/1 down.
Now for care of these will bring them up.
In the formation.
Yes.
He's going to get to the tailback Ronnie Wooten and Wooten's up across the 35 near the 36 yard line.
A like Alex, passage was one of the first ones up there to make the stop.
Doing a good job of following his fullback and Mike Johnson the junior Tommy you and I talked about before the game.
And we were going over our notes and I was going to the starting lineups.
Looking at some of the articles throughout the last year to Mike Johnson, the star, I couldn't find anything on the fullback.
That's a sign of a good fullback.
When your name is not in the paper, you're doing the right thing.
You're always making those tough blocks and keeping that tailbacks name.
In your local paper face looks over a four man front fakes fires in the heavy traffic over there.
Gravel and Anderson, they intended receiver excellent fake up the middle by piece roll to his off side very difficult for a right handed quarterback to go to his left and throw with any success.
And it's funny to watch or interesting to watch Carroll go from the formation with the two backs move into that single set back, moving another person of personnel over into the slot, a team that can do multiple things on offense.
Now look, go to the shotgun.
Yep.
Third down on about five.
He's got a fake, got a block of the corner piece for the first down and.
Much more great block at the corner piece with a great cut right up through traffic and a good block off the point of attack.
Here.
The Hunter Wolfe had an opportunity to get him from the corner position, missed it the first time able to come back and get it the second time they're closing for 640 speed a piece showing how well and how dangerous he is running that option that spread option out of the shotgun set.
17 yard gain for peace.
And I know the kick and throw.
You've got to watch that, right?
You can't just sit there and let him go.
No.
First down and ten at the 47 man in motion, he's going to give it to Wooten.
Wooten for the block and down to the 29 yard line.
Wooten on the carry.
First down for Caro.
Well, some people wouldn't believe this, but Wooten is the backup tailback.
Backup tailback.
A change of pace.
Get first down and ten.
We played one at the Georgia Dome.
Welcome back, Tommy Farmer, along with Ryan Chambers from the Georgia Dome.
Great high school.
Activity between Pharaoh and North Hall.
First down, Tim Carro down at the 30.
He's hands to.
Reginald Bryant down to about the 23 yard line.
Tommy Farmer, along with Ryan Chambers and Gerald Oliveira down on the sidelines.
And this 888 match up, second down and about five years.
Bryant 3400 career rushing yards, his first time he touched in the playoffs against Benedictine.
75 yards later, he was in the end zone.
Quick back, very, very quick back.
Almost a perfect back for this offense.
That Carroll likes to run.
Counter works, the split line to the right base looks over a four.
Man front with a backer up there to the give is to Bryant, who cuts off cross the left side down inside the 20 yard line.
Reginald Bryant with 50 rushing touchdowns and 3400 rushing yards in his career.
He's no stranger to the football.
No, he certainly isn't.
In five, ten, £205.
We talked about the difference between he and Wooten.
Wooten is a little bit more of a change of pace.
Bank likes to hit that corner at 510, £185, a little bit heavier set.
Reginald Bryant, a little bit more, the power guy between tackles.
He could certainly hit the corner, though, with that speed as well.
Third and less than a yard.
Nos with the ball just outside the 20 feet tried to go airborne.
I'm not sure he made it.
We may need to take a look at that.
I'm not sure he made it.
I don't think he did.
It's certainly going to be close from our vantage point.
Take a look here.
That's all good quarterback sneak is he let him take a half a step back in a split second.
You have to take a look and see which hole you want to go, where your best alley.
Is to take off fourth down.
He didn't get it.
They didn't even measure.
All right.
He brings them up North Hall, jumping around on defense.
Bass gives to his tailback Wooten or rather, Bryant and Bryant got the necessary yardage for the first down.
I feel like as far as momentum is concerned, this probably is a very key drive for Carroll.
After the muffed field goal attempts and the North Hall touchdown.
But Caro has answered properly.
Day care has shown no signs of not being able to move the ball.
I mean, a 50 yard bomb and the opening series, they're able to come all the way back down the field to the 19 has got to get some points on the board, get that confidence.
Well.
He's in the shotgun and somebody on the left side jumped early across that line of scrimmage.
Flag down on the play.
Let's check with the officials.
The ball false.
Start on the offense in mind.
First things.
First and 15 red zone problems once more now for the sirup makers up at the 23 Barrow for penalties for 20.
Yards north hall no penalties wide slot for the right.
Piece rolling good protection.
Complete touchdown Dwayne Isom.
Excellent protection.
Excellent throw.
Touchdown nice route.
Sitting right there, right in the middle of that defensive secondary.
But look at the block Brian Gable from the backfield Just nice little turn around come back and the receiver shot O'Brien able to pick up that guy coming off the corner.
Garrett Godwin attempts to tie the game 23 yard touchdown strike Good snap.
And a good fit.
New ballgame at seven Caro drives the length of the field and we're tied zero seven North ball seven Great protection for piece as he hit Isom Watch this rolling looking great protection at the point and he just flips the 23 yard talk about strong.
Arm he wasn't even squared up to the line of scrimmage watch Bryant pick up this last second block right there Look at that throw.
That thing was on the line at home.
The move almost looked like he was throwing down.
Then it up off of his toes.
Nine plays, 69 yards, 4 minutes and 53 seconds.
The touchdown, a 23 yarder to Isom.
Dwayne Isom on the reception.
You and I were talking yesterday looking over this roster.
Isom runs a four or 540.
He is the third receiver on the depth chart at a45 speed that state Garrett Godwin.
Will kick it off for the sirup makers though the hosts need to receive.
At the five short.
Stubby little kick down to the 15 hunter Wolfe will take it there got a block or half across the 30 to the 35.
Jonathan Ryan on a stop.
My word this north hall team is quick.
Both teams are just terribly quick.
Football teams, they have the blazing speed, but they're very quick as well.
Caro A lot of their key guys, personnel wise on offensive teams.
They have a ton of juniors getting a lot of playing time on this ballclub.
Johnson, Wooten, Williams, Isom, he's the quarterback all genius.
That happens when you have great tradition and they do it.
CARO First down ten, they get to Epps.
Epps up across the 40 to the 43.
Just your old basic isolation option football.
Nice spin.
Move Epps out of the backfield.
Just a tough fullback.
It's so important to have a good fullback if you're going to run the option.
So much of the option goes through the fullback looking.
There you see a good block by 77, 22nd down and one up at the 43 baby.
And Jackson gets to Epps once more, enough for the first down after at about 445.
So far, Jackson has really looked to apps as the first option.
So many times you, the fullback, doesn't get a lot of the headway, doesn't get a lot of the headlines in the triple option offense.
When you have a really good athletic quarterback like Jackson, when you got a guy like Wolfe coming off the wing back.
But Epps has been the number one option.
I don't know if Jackson is seen something down on the field.
Jackson has got him thinking fullback.
We'll see the rest of that option here in just a moment.
Jackson to Epps once more.
To the left side, up to about the 48 short game there, right side of that Cairo defense.
There they are, Boston heads up there right now.
We saw a pretty tight angle on one of the helmets for the defensive logic arrow yesterday.
We saw ripped jerseys in the Triple A game on both sides of the day.
We've already got some scratches and some so dense up front.
Those big guys up there, they're up there in the trenches with so many football games, are one of the big stages like this.
Second down and eight Jackson with the bootleg and out of bounds is going to lose a yard on the floor.
Jonathan Bryant knocked him out of bounds and that was one of the options from the option was the bootleg.
But Caro didn't.
Buy it but you give credit to Bryant that is that outside linebacker out of the four four and we talked about it the first possession that's what helps about having a44 did you have those extra linebackers to kind of cover your outer, outer perimeter on defense and not fall because of going to so many times that bootleg not fooling Bryant on the outside third down and.
Eight one wide receiving Jackson looks over that four man front He's going to run the counter trap the reverse to Dillon Wolfe down inside the 50 down to about the 47 of the 48.
It's going to be fourth down.
This Caro defense can pursue what's this pursuit little reverse but look how quickly they close and north hall going to kick it away Jake done departed away and deep to receive is Jonathan Bryant back at about the 15 good snap good kick there catch Caro seven north hall seven Caro going to take it over at the 13 feet Looks over a four man front two wide receivers going to run the sprint draw two Reginald Bryant who cracks his way up across the 15 to about the 18 yard line.
Xavien Jackson, one of the first ones on the tackle.
Was trying to establish that running game for Caro.
No, the arm that he hands back when he steps back it in the pocket does get that running game going is such a big part of Caro there about a 75 run 25% pass.
On the season second down and six now.
Offset by man in motion.
To give once more to Wooten.
Wooten cracks up near the 20 yard line.
Sam Weaver The first one with resistance.
Plays right into the scouting report, almost to a team we saw right out of the eye formation.
The main man, Reginald Bryant, right up the middle.
Then we see a change of pace right off the corner.
Third down and a short to just over the 20.
Got to get past the 23 for the first down piece, throwing just over the fingertips of Jonathan Bryan, going for the whole ball of wax.
Man Can this piece unload the football?
He has got a rocket for an arm, and Bryant had a step on him just running a simple seam one yard in and took off on the same route right down the numbers gained a step on them about the 3540 yard line.
By the time the piece uncorked, it.
Was a good choice of words, uncorked it.
He really uncorked it for down and two Godwin back at the ten to kick and Dillon Wolfe's back near the 47 to receive did snap in over kick coach Christmas told us what was special about this North Hall football team.
It's got a remarkable student body at North Hall High School.
I think it's probably in my 33 years.
Coach and the most remarkable group that I've been around the Friday night atmosphere is fantastic.
Our seniors are a unique group of young men that that I would call them overachievers.
They play with tremendous heart.
We've got some good players, but they are very unselfish, great unity, great desire to accomplish their goals.
We've got 18 of them.
And as far as leadership is concerned, I think it's the best.
In my years coaching.
Coach Bob Christmas, of course, a very successful coach, a coach of the year in Virginia and a Region seven Triple A coach of the year here in Georgia.
Fabian Jackson on the initial carry second down.
On a yard to give is to Wolf down to the 40.
Let's go.
Down to the sidelines, Gerald.
All of Jarell.
Hey, Tommy, we just heard from Coach Christmas.
Well, he actually received his 200th coaching victory with the win against McNair in the first round of the playoffs.
The team awarded him with a flag after the game and, you know, and all of his coaching stops that he's been at Virginia Bass Bridge here at North Hall.
He's never took over a winning program, Tommy, that's speaks volumes to his coaching ability.
He he's obviously a great builder, folks first down and ten at the 40 Jackson on.
The option finally fall down by Jonathan side at about the 25 that great little spurt.
By Jackson after the fake of the option watch this little spurt when he hits the corner.
The way they set that option up, it's almost like the spread option at least behind the line of scrimmage where you have the option paining off or taking off, taking that almost right out of piece and Caro's but if you're running angles Alshon and the speed he has off the corner you're doing something right.
17 yard run wide receiver the right for man front for Caro to give as the Wolfe.
Got a block of the corner Touchdown Hunter Wolfe They say speed kills What a block at the corner to when you have speed to shoot pass that block at the corner It didn't take long.
To get there watch the block at the corner right here by 77 hello.
And he's free and gone.
A great cell block coming back the other way, just like you said.
Tommy That's just perfect.
Perfect execution, TASHA Tough the corner.
Jake Dunn to attack the point from placement Pick his up.
Man That's good Great or resounding drive even better haircut by the hard ball.
They answered the Caro score 14 to 7 We've got ourselves a dandy Both teams can play.
I could probably use one of those.
Tom, I don't have enough time.
I could get the move, but I can't use the half.
Four plays, 51 yards a minute and 26 seconds for North Paul Hunter Wolfe on a 23 yard touchdown run.
Great blocking up front by the north hall line of scrimmage.
Do you think the crowd is excited here in the dome?
It's Christmas.
Talking about the student body.
They got the noisemakers, the body paint, the Christmas hats.
What a unique name, Bob.
Christmas.
Easy to make that green and red transition, I guess.
Yes, it is.
Jake Dunn will kick it off and deep to receive for care of.
Xavier Jordan and Jonathan.
Bryant back at the five high hard.
Drive and kick.
Bryant got a block right up the middle to.
The 28 yard line.
The winner of this game will meet Carver of Columbus next week for the state triple A championship.
Either team will be a formidable foe.
For no matter what.
There's going to be two great quarterbacks in that football game.
Yes, Angelo Bees, two out of five.
So far, 82 yards, one touchdown looking the throw.
Running the screen got a block at the point of attack Great defensive pressure Isom on the catch Dillon Wolfe on the tackle to come.
Back screen Blake Young right tackle from the offensive line He gets out there to make the block that he's supposed to make but you can't block seven guys his problem look young but to the back of those legs but there's only so many guys you can block and just great pursuit by.
That north hall defense Jillian.
Wolf, a lot of effort by Isom for a one yard gain.
What you think and a good throw, by the way, by piece.
Three wide to the left for man front for north Paul.
He's not going to fake going to be caught and thrown excellent pursuit again by North Robert Humphrey.
You know that comeback screen is supposed to alleviate some of that pressure from the front five of North Hall.
Maybe spread the defense out just a bit didn't work that Tom.
North Hall as bringing the heat.
As we said I mean all the talk has been about this North Hall Trojan offense.
They have allowed double digit points only four times.
And Gainesville Randolph and team that's a pretty good team to hold to only 22 in a win might I add.
I don't care who you've been playing.
If you come in 13 tomorrow and 12 and one, you've got a good football team.
Chiaro and North Hall, excellent triple-A football team face whistle and a flag illegal procedure there by slapping 23 off the maestro down third down.
Third and 15 North Hall very active on defense third down and.
19 after the penalty 95.
All right.
Piece brings him up.
Is going to run the isolation bounces outside got a block at the corner did Bryant and get.
Back gets back about.
Eight or.
Nine yards maybe eight yards and north hall is going to call timeout that's going to bring up.
Fourth and 11 now.
Obviously if you're Caro you're thinking do we punt it there's 8 seconds left in the half.
Do you pat it and North Hall's you do so they go after it.
Right now, Kyra is just trying to find something offensively that they can, you know, hang the proverbial hat on it, try to throw it deep downfield, hoping maybe that alleviate some of the pressure.
They try to go to the screen maybe rather than spread them deep, you spread them wide and nothing's working so far.
North Hall is finding ways in those front.
Five of the defense to get in the backfield for Carroll I mean you looking at the defense it takes its fuel Griffith Colin Alford off the left side tremendous speed this Trojans front five.
It's obvious that North Hall is making great in-game adjustments to what Carroll is doing on offense.
Fourth down Garrett Godwin back at the 16 to kick it away no deep receiver for north hall a driving driving kick Nice kick by Godwin.
And the half will end there.
Let's go down on the sidelines to Gerald O'Leary.
Joe am here with Coach Christmas.
It seems as though you're making good adjustments out there.
We talked about that during the broadcast.
What are you seeing from Favre over there?
Well, Carroll's got a very good football team.
And of course.
We got lucky.
They snapped it over the over the on the field goal.
Snapped it over the holders head.
And so we got a touchdown there.
We did get it going a little bit there offensively and you know, we're still trying to see things and make some adjustments.
Our kids are playing hard and that's all we can ask out of them.
Yeah.
Seems like they're playing with a lot of emotion there.
Yeah, they've done that all year.
That's the one thing I'm always cherubs.
Our kids who play hard.
All right.
Good luck in the second half.
Thank you.
Appreciate it, Tommy.
Let's go down to the field and enjoy the north.
Paul High School Marching Trojans band director is Alan Kirkland.
Drum major is Sarah Beth Jones.
Performance Cattle is Spanish Fiesta.
Let's enjoy.
All right.
Let's go down to the field where Gerald Olavarria is with Alan Kirkland.
That's right.
I'm here with Alan Kirkland.
Let me ask you, you've been at the school for about four years, decorated.
Have you seen the band grow over.
That time since?
I Got to North Hall, the band's about doubled in size.
I've had a lot of support from the community with the football team's success, and it's just that Friday nights are a big community activity and you know, that's really brought the kids back into the program with a lot of excitement.
Let's talk about those kids for a second.
How excited were they to come here and play today?
Oh, they were just as excited the football team was.
They're really excited.
Now.
Right now they're playing Spanish Fiesta.
Tell me, what was the inspiration for that time?
I was actually a piano major in college, and this was a piece of music I was familiar with, written for a piano.
And I found somebody that set it for a marching band, and they've done a really good job with it.
Oh.
Okay.
So tell me more about community support.
You mentioned that you get a lot of support there.
Talk about the support as they came down here to play in the dome today.
Well, the community's gotten behind everything, behind the band, behind the cheerleaders, behind the football team.
It's just an exciting thing for all of the North Shore community.
Pep rallies and just been really excited.
I notice you have a lot of instruments, a lot of equipment.
It was a major production getting all this stuff together.
Always just brought a huge trailer full of stuff and I got a great parent support group and they do a lot for us.
Talk about their peer support group for second.
Well with the the job that band renders have to do it without a great parent support group good leadership from the parents willing to move the equipment to support the students.
This would never happen.
Well, thanks a lot for spending some time with this.
Let's get ready for the second half.
Back up to you, Tommy.
Thank you, Gerald.
Let's take a look at those first half highlights and what a great first half it was.
Ryan Chambers Yeah, it did.
And we got off with a bang here.
You see the snap going right over the his head in the sophomore coming out into your screen.
He makes a decision, right?
You go take that or I go take off.
I take off.
He has a whole wall.
They nobody get to there.
Humphrey all the way the house with 58 yards on that and you see the second just nothing to do with it.
And that ended up being a ten point swing.
Does he have probably a makeable field goal?
Three points for camera to open the scoring instead North Hall able to get that crowd juiced up fired up Lou early as they go up early seven up after.
Caro did answer and run right back down the field and what a strike to the way in ISO.
Yeah I saw him just sitting right down there in the back end zone coverage good protection giving PS all the time he needed.
Great throw by Angelo BS then north hall answered with a 23 touchdown run by Wolff.
Here's another look at that.
It's a stretch play stretch that play out and you see where the avenue opens up.
And he found that avenue to cut back.
You got to have that good wall and seal block.
And he picked it up right there in the corner.
Here's the way this dance look at the halftime chorus 14 to 7 score.
Caro 84 yards passing North Hall, five rushing yardage North Hall with the advantage 120 to 50 total yardage.
Look how close Ryan won 34 to 125.
Key three stats for me as your bottom left corner folks.
Five penalties, 24 yards, one turnover in the bottom.
Caro Three more minutes and time of possession for the two numbers above that are really been the problem so far for this perfect storm.
Great first half of football wait for the second half.
Coming up next, it's 14 to 7 north.
Paul over Caro at the half.
Let's go back down to the field to Gerald Olivieri.
Gerald coached the yardage and the time of possession was pretty much the same.
The only difference, really was that that turnover there.
Oh, yeah, you know, mistakes in a game like this will hurt you.
And, you know, we made a couple of mistakes early, but, you know, we'll see how to recover from in the second half.
All right.
Well, good luck in the second half.
I got the timing.
All right, Gerald Coach Tom Fillmore of Caro, they did respond to that errant snap with a good drive, but North Wall countered with another drive, 14 to 7 here at the half.
RYAN Yeah, they've been able to move the ball.
Caro has.
It's just the mistake that really is the difference in this ballgame.
One possession ballgame, they probably could have been looking at a similar fate or different fate.
The running attack for the Trojans in North Hall has really helped them grind clock out.
It's helped them keep that Caro offense off the field.
They've done a good job, no penalties, no turnovers.
And for a team that has never been here in 51 years of existence, that's pretty impressive.
Let's run down what's happened at the Dome in the opener yesterday, Wilcox County defeated Athens Academy 32 to 14 in a great opener at the 9:00 game.
And they advance to the state championship game against the FCI, Emmanuel County, against the two Bulldogs who took care of Clinch County by a score of 35 to 48.
In the noon game yesterday, Carver Tigers came from behind to beat Chamblee 26 to 24 to advance to the title game against the winner of this game.
Then in the 6:00 game, Northside came from behind to beat the Tucker Tigers 31 to 28.
It was a dandy North Side advances to the four eight championship game where they will play the wear county gators in Waycross next Friday night 10 to 7 that final score where county over Thomas County central and that's what happened yesterday in the dome and today the Buford Wolves beat the Dublin Fighting Irish 48 to nothing in the early game.
And then at noon today, the Leavitt Lions defeated the Cook Hornets to advance to the Double-A finals against Buford.
Coming up after our game today, you'll want to stay tuned and watch another one you're enjoying, Caro and Norah Paul right now.
Coming up next, you've got wall to wall in one north Gwinnett.
Well, and one those are neighborhood rivals.
That's going to be a dandy.
The winner will take on the winner of tonight's game between Lamb's County and Camden County.
Also, south Georgia neighborhood rivals and that's what's happening in this two day period at the Dome, Fast and Furious.
What a great atmosphere for football.
We're gonna have some folks back there in the truck taking some vacation time, I guess, after this weekend.
Oh, I've seen the same faces here for 32 hours, I guess.
30 hours.
I got cots in under here, under the seats are.
130 hours of fun at the dome.
It's it's a great two day atmosphere.
And now let's get set for the second half.
Kick off with Caro and North Hall.
I tell you, based on what we saw yesterday in the Carver and Chamblee game, we can't take anything for granted because Carver really came back from a 24 to 6 deficit to win it.
We were only 6 to 24.
We walked out of here and said, you know, that may be the best game in the dome.
And then about 3 hours later, Mr. Marquese returned another performance.
Second half a 28 point comeback from Northside.
What a win for Conrad.
And it was a great way Jake Dunn will kick it off.
Jordan and Bryant, big thirsty for the sirup makers.
Dunn high drive and kick.
Into the end zone.
Jordan that's a fair catch Kick off their first half tenser makers now up at the 20 Angelo pace to run the offense He's three out of 684 yards one touchdown the good news for Caro fans, he's a junior.
Rocket for arm good mobility very patient in the pocket.
Reminds me of a Heisman winning the war number 17 down to south Georgia some time ago I formation slot arrived tied inside of the field now to the right.
Piece gives to the tailback got a block.
At the point of attack Bryan Bryant Bryant touchdown Caro 80 yards Well not the first time he's done it except the last time he.
Did it with 75, it was on the first possession of the first half of the playoffs.
This time, Bryant First possession the second half one tackle miss coming up in your screen there you see him 32 step arms one at about the 50 yard line as he heads upfield both right by him a third tackle missed and just breakaway speed.
Garrett Godwin to attempt the point from placement what a block at the point of attack.
However by that Caro line of scrimmage Godwin good snap.
The kick is up.
And the kick is good Let's take another look at the block.
Certainly right there.
As good as it gets right up the fall off tackle.
BRYANT And that defense crowded in the box when you got the speed to Bryant hands if you can find your way to the corner and he did look out he was going to a speed a lot of athletes on this pair of serve maker ball club they knew they weren't out.
I guarantee you I guarantee you when they were back in the locker room, they knew this game was nowhere close to being over with.
And now they take the momentum, the old mode right back away from no at home.
All right.
80 touchdown run.
I tell you, the block of the corner set him free.
But he made the first leap over that linebacker.
It was Crowder River, as we say.
Godwin will kick it off.
Baker is safe, though.
The hot back of a five.
Nice pick.
What's going to let it hit and.
Pick it up at the five and is knocked down at the fifth game hunter.
Wolfe on the return German Bottesford on the stop for Carro.
Now let's see if Nora Paul can answer this is sort of what when we talked about in our pre get together Ryan we thought was going to happen where one team would score and the other would answer.
I didn't realize the the answer would be long distance, right?
On day one of the second half, Fabian Jackson looks.
Over a six man front flag goes down up.
But about the 19.
Looks like I was going against North Hall.
They were key and run.
Caro was the entire time as you saw Bonhoeffer from the safety responsible for this first offense on the offense Mike first down Biddeford was responsible for that slot receiver line up to the right side as he crept in slowly.
But I had a man streaking wide open the crash in the box, his career.
First down and 15.
And only one throwing attempt from Jackson.
In the first half.
You're going to have to force Jackson to throw from the 12 got a block at the corner did roll up across the 15 to the 17 early 18.
That's the play that they scored on earlier on the 23 yard run.
Jackson threw for 33 yards, 13 touchdowns.
The one interception they've stuck with the running game this time to the wolf.
The other wolves.
Out of UPS picks it up in there tough.
That's running back.
Opposed to twin brother Dillon Wolf.
Gain of six on the play second down.
And nine for Jackson throwing six.
Intended for Dillon Wolf tipped by Jeremiah Botsford.
And Bonhoeffer had double coverage on Wolf down the field now throwing from a lack of arm strength that's for sure.
Jackson rolling mobile pocket takes off Slings one down You see Bonhoeffer creeping into your corner from the safety just rolls over the top providing a little help to Jonathan Shon.
Excellent coverage by the Caro secondary.
Yes Shawn Hannam step for step.
Never a bad thing to get a little help from the safety.
Up at the 18 they've got to get up to the 28 and a half for a first down third and nine Jackson looks over four man front runs the boot leg lost back to the 11.
Logan Bennett on that right side of the Caro defense came after he had some help for man Tobias Williams.
Two good defensive tackles.
Latavius Williams, applying the pressure up front, said nowhere to go fourth down.
Jake Dunn will kick it from the end zone, standing about two yards deep, fourth and 18.
Dunn with an end over in kick to Bryant.
Bryant will let it hit and bounce and roll dead at the 49 at Barrow Territory.
Carroll answered with a good defensive surge after their touchdown tied it at 14.
Let's see what the serve makers could do with it here.
Tom Fallon told us what was special about this edition of the Sarah Baker.
Yes, I don't know.
You know, Cairo has a long tradition of winning.
You know, at 12 one years, you kind of expected down there at I don't know if it's you know, if it's if it's special yet, if we can kind of, you know, maybe win this one or win the next one, then you'll have a special year.
But, you know, winning is expected in south Georgia.
So, you know, right now we're just going to our focus on the next game and will move from there.
Coach Tom Palmore having excellent success at CARE of leading this group of makers to a 12 one record.
He's exactly right, Tom, but there's a lot of expectations of winning down in Caro and South Georgia, as you said.
And as we said, very surprising that this team has been since 2000, all the tradition and all the winning.
But Caro, the makers that program has and it's funny, it's hard to enjoy it sometimes until you see you get that state title ball back to South Georgia.
He's on a short carry and makes it second down and nine going to sit the man.
In motion Ronnie Ronnie Wooten Touchdown Sirup makers again plays right into.
The old scouting report.
Sometimes it's right on the money.
Wooten is the the difference maker on the corner, the speed man coming right in the end around it lined up in the slot you see him go into motion.
They had faked that a couple of times earlier, Tommy, to set that play up.
Exactly.
They got the blocking in the avenue, then was one on one down the corner and just too much speed.
Into the end zone.
Garrett Godwin where the point after attempt.
Kick is up and the kick is good.
He was touched once.
Look at the blocking at the corner.
What if we get a look at it?
It was amazing on the corner.
Watch.
Watch the gap turns on the boosters touched once down at the five or six yard line.
He hit the sidelines and he was gone.
Yes, he did.
Not it guys, you can arm tacklers.
You see here went right into motion.
You saw that cell block picked up.
And we've been talking number ten all day of blocking Jonathan Bryant offensively, defensively.
And he has done a tremendous job of blocking out on the perimeter.
Garrett Godwin will kick it off.
Caro leads it 21 to 14.
Ronnie Wooten hit the corner and turned on the afterburners.
Godwin will kick it off.
Botha hops back at the five Hunter Wolfe at the ten backed up.
Just across the 20.
Hunter Wolfe first down and ten now for the Trojans.
Momentum swings like a pendulum just seemed like just a few minutes ago North Hall felt like it felt like you had this game runner in control.
But right now, oh, Mr.
Momentum has settled in on the other sideline and.
Two possessions for Caro two touchdowns.
And a seven point lead first down ten north whole Trojans at the 21 and we got an illegal substitution flagged down.
On the play.
Ball.
Well, let's go.
Down to the sidelines, Gerald OLIVIERI.
Gerald, you know, this time and this is not the first time that they've been down at halftime, second game of the season, they were down 14 to 0 against Thomasville and they battled back to score 20 unanswered points.
Talk to coach about that before the game and he kind of walked him up going into halftime like that and it seems like that same momentum has happened.
Swish at this game today first and fifth game from the fifth team.
Bobby Epps on the carry up to the 20.
That's a good point.
Gerald makes it.
Caro has played a lot closer ballgames this year, 2014 win over Thomasville 2019 over Bainbridge 1017 Thomas County Central 2114.
That emotional win over shore very heated heated ballgame with sharp.
The second round the play those first three games you mention all.
Rivalry games second down and 11.
Jackson going to run the option fake to the first man threw up across the 20 to the 23 man Tobias Williams on the stop for the sirup makers third down up at the 23.
Jackson short slot to set by Gibbs to Epps the full back up across the 25.
And that Jarreau defense there by Johnson Jake Elkins man Tobias Williams fourth down down and five the game was about three.
Outside five carries for 43 yards in the first half you can't take him down with the first shot.
It takes multiple tacklers for a tough Bobby Epps, a tough fullback this north fall offense.
Jake Dunn back the 12.
How could Jonathan Byrd.
Send that second bounces at about the 48 yard line.
First down ten Caro from their 49 he's fakes to open a nice gain into Mark Hall territory.
Highlands defense had several guys take a shot at the you slow him down just enough and wait for the Calvary Calvary that time in the form Collin Alford high energy guy who likes to play right off the corner gassed.
61 tackles this year 600 200 and mean excuse.
Me six oh.
£35 senior has ten tackles for loss the backfield this season second down and about three from the 44 Williams moves to the right side yeah there's still the tailback Bryant cracks inside the.
40 down to the 37 yard line and goes right to old O'Brien first down Caro.
Playing phony exactly like it was designed to see the same block out the corner.
The other one just builds that wall right there.
And everything else Mr. Bryant does on his own picks up an extra set of numbers, just sheer power coming across the middle.
Great run.
It's called down CARO.
280 total yards.
Nora Paul 134.
Carroll on the prowl again down at the 37 fake to Wooten touchdown.
John Terry, a sprawling.
36 yard.
Scoring.
Strike from Angelo Pace and around.
It worked so well earlier Tommy kind of froze the defense at second level.
The defense secondary with the linebacking corps faking the end around just give him just enough time to hit that route.
Garrett Godwin to attempt the point from placement.
Good snap and a good kick.
Pharaoh now 28 North Haul 14.
Three plays 52 yards.
One minute, 4 seconds.
It didn't take long.
36 yard touchdown pass from Angelo Base The shot tearing up Brown Here's another look.
I wasn't saying he was wide open.
Yep.
Is that a look that went in and take it to the house?
Impressive.
This offensive line, the care of the how impressed and got to be with Gainer Palmer to center young right tackle right guards keep your foul.
This has been on the mark here in the second half it's been a run and throw running five to serve Baker so far.
What's not like.
They you know they hit his hands and things go there they're not to go their way in the first half felt like they weren't able to move the ball.
We talked about it at the half.
The difference in that.
Ballgame so far have been penalties in the big turn.
So the odds date to receive the game from Garrett Godwin to us that the third back.
Up to the 25.
I don't Dwayne Isom who.
He had loaded on £170 and had it.
But when you get £170 bullet headed down feel it's deadly.
Therefore five speed certainly helps out in the special teams.
North hall first down now at the 25 Fabian Jackson brings them up.
Zero in that four man front with a linebacker rolled up Jackson.
Throwing the screen to Epps just a little overthrown up at about the 26 or the 27.
Just had no shot in.
That one yet.
BENNETT Coming off the corner along with Bottesford and they had faked the play action in the back.
Coming out of the backfield was really the only guy there to pick up the block.
One guy not hitting two blocks north ball.
125 yards in the first half, nine in the second half.
Look at Caro 134 in the first half, 183 in the second half.
Total dominance by Caro thus far offensively in the second half, Brady and Jackson.
Brings them up.
Short slot Connor Wolfe on the carry up to about.
The 26.
And he's partially out of a change of philosophy they've gone away for Bobby Epps pounding away the fullback now for the single set stuff, trying to cut that corner.
But just two too much speed in the Caro defense.
And Jake Elkins out of the linebacker.
For Caro, really asserting itself as well as the offense of the serve.
Makers here in the third quarter short slot, once more and again is to Epps right.
Up the middle.
Nothing there on the cook trap up to about the 26 man looks at the Caro defense.
Well, that.
Time they go to apps but nobody fooled their defensive line from Caro just doing a fantastic of pulling off the ball, pushing that offensive line into the backfield and blowing that play up.
Jake Dunn Well, stand back on the 15 to kick it way once more and Jonathan Bryan back to receive at the 39 time high kick again fair catch Brian brings it in at the 38 yard.
Line and the serve makers will take it over again.
ANGELO Peace brings them up wing right formation together to the tailback.
WOOTEN Wooten got a block and another Wooten touchdown SURRATT Makers 62 yards by my man in the.
Corner and he was calling for his own block as you'll see here, Brad Lynn Anderson running out in front of him just pushes one block away, blows right around the corner like that once you pick that block up right there.
And he he did high stepping right into the paint.
What Caro has done in this short seven minute period of time is absolutely amazing.
Flag goes down as Garrett Godwin gets ready to attempt the point for placement.
Football quick substitution.
Wasn't hurt great try.
And it's against Caro.
Cleaned up the penalties outside of that here the second half turnovers have gone in Neil and now you see that Caro offense hitting on all cylinders.
I would say that's an understatement, wouldn't you?
And it's going to take it's really going to take maybe having to go through the air here.
Firing back into it.
Because up and the kick is good Caro leads it 35 to 14.
Ronnie Wood, a 62 yard touchdown run.
That's his second touchdown run this quarter.
Caro, 28, unanswered points in the third quarter.
Very impressive.
Ryan.
I'm seeing a transcript of that halftime speech.
Rodney Wooten has been a big part of that rushing attack.
For a soft spoken man.
I wonder what Coach Fuller had to say at obviously it hit home.
Now, Coach Christmas going to have to talk to his football team to get them motivated yet again.
I'll tell you what, the speed Ronnie Wooten has playmaking ability not all that bad for backup running back.
So I would say that's pretty accurate work for too many to do more a little bit more than a.
Change of pace back.
Good a delightful alternative which is.
Maybe a better.
Way Gareth Godwin will stick it away Graham.
Duncan.
Needs to receive for the long ball Duncan cross on that side and knock down.
A bit of an effort 43 or 24 yard line by Logan Bennett.
And it's not just one side of the ball here for the Sir Mike now they've really set him up with really good field position at the 42 and the 48 and the 49.
But when you make those one and two and three play drives, that makes it very easy on your defense as well.
CARO 378 yards and North Hall 181 total yards.
First and ten.
Jackson rolling to throw in trouble pass pass intended for number 21 up at the 28 yard line Ethan Champion the intended receiver Jackson was throwing falling down.
That was a ill advised pass again the defense Johnson Bryant splits tackles applying the pressures we see here on the replay Jackson trying to get out by himself some time because he has not had that time to sit in the pocket and throw.
Sometimes you move the pocket a little bit tonight.
Roll that quarterback out coaches Bryant sorry Tommy does not allowing for the time.
Not feeling more Paul's sympathy I guess Jackson after the 23 going around the counter fumble.
On the play Norris Hall there Hunter Wolfe recovered the fumble going to run the reverse there.
Tight space to try to run that reverse a saw them try that in the first half you have that wingback just the counter to the tailback wingback coming across the middle.
That is an awful, awful tight spot that takes it absolutely perfect handoff.
In fact two perfect handoffs and execute that play.
Every pull that the tight end or the guards do the Caro defense shoots through the gap and that's messing up traffic for North Hall right now up to the 23 Hunter Wolfe on the carrying but good man Tobias Williams in there along with Jake Elkins.
Lester Harrell also helping out which you would think is odd.
He's playing the right defensive end.
They ran it to the left side.
Harrell came all the way across from his corner.
And as you see there, look at that perfect three play, hail blowing right down the line of scrimmage.
Tremendous pursuit by that Caro defense.
Jake Dunn will kick yet again, this time from the ten low snap Good kick Jonathan Bryant takes it at the 45 field position works again in K Rowe's favor Caro with a 28 point explosion here in the third quarter.
Coach Football still looks concerned on the sideline.
And coaches are always concerned.
Especially if you stuck around to watching the action we had yesterday.
Yeah, no late.
Seems this weekend.
But it's all good for good football teams and you don't just lock up and show up to the Georgia Dome.
Here in the semi face brings them up by four.
Mason gives to the tailback Reginald Bryant.
Who cracks across midfield down to about the 47 yard line.
Fabian Jackson made the stop.
And again, I have been so impressed not only with the blocking up front from the front five, but watching when they split those two receivers out.
Both sides picking up extra blocks out on the perimeter.
Second down and about two.
So much easier to.
Operate when you have the second and shorts live slot fill arrive here so the tailback got a block and another Bryant knocked out of bounds at the seven Robert Humphrey a. Touchdown saving tackle down at about the six yard line broke through the.
Defensive line the linebacker had a shot at Bryant just got a little bit lower there to get those pants low that's a low pass.
41 yard run by Redmond.
That's power and speed.
You get the power to get through the linebacker and you see Blose right in the middle boot and he hits the sidelines and he's free.
Humphrey saved the touchdown there at the 6/1 down Touchdown Brentano Brian six yard touchdown run And Caro's serve makers are putting on an offensive clinic here in the second half starting.
To pull for that serve on.
Garrett Godwin to attempt the point from placement.
Can never have too many good running backs like this.
Obviously officials time out.
You and I talked about it yesterday.
It just seems like in the.
Last football suspension, 12 and a half, three.
Three or four years, the crop of running backs have come out of the state of Georgia.
And you look ahead at, some of these guys, you've got juniors out on the field yesterday today amazing talent.
Bryan and mood are kind of special what are you say Godwin Good.
Caro 42 North Pole 1435 unanswered points.
Why an explosion five zero.
Here in the third quarter.
Here's the latest one.
Brendan O'Brien great blocking up front.
Thanks same play out of a different formation time again.
You have to give kudos to the right side of the Cairo offensive line.
Yes, he did.
They have slashed it up pretty good over there.
What do you think?
Yeah, they had they certainly had.
Three plays, 55 yards.
Time of possession, the one for Ryan, six yard touchdown.
Blake Young to center.
Chris Powell, the right guard, right tackle Palmer, the center Graham ducking deeper He sees.
Godwin's kick drive and kick Duncan takes it at the 15 back up the middle to lose it up at the 28 Lester Harrell on a stop for Kyra here's the hit Duncan.
And it really plays into the defensive philosophy they've had here the second half of Tommy.
They have been flying to the ball.
We talked about it, the defensive end, Lester Harrell on their third down play coming all the way across from his defensive end position, almost running parallel to line of scrimmage.
Flying to the ball, 11 guys all ball hunting in the field first and ten.
Your call again is done.
Hunter Wolfe crossed the 30 to.
The 32 yard line.
That's the play they on earlier with Hunter Wolfe.
This Caro 42 North Haul 14.
Obviously old momentum likes the taste of sirup yeah.
I tell you serve maker it's a great that's a great mascot.
Great team name.
Gyro sirup makers trying to stave off Nora Paul as we head into the fourth quarter here 42 to 14 what a performance by.
Carroll in the third quarter 35 unanswered points.
Fabian Jackson brings the Trojans up to give.
This to FS up to the 35 yard line.
They go back trying to pound the ball to Bobby amps.
It worked pretty well the first five or 6 minutes in this ballgame, but really Caro's defensive line somewhere in the middle of that second quarter, really started establishing itself, applying the pressure at fourth for walking that fourth guy, making him five down linemen.
They brought the blitz.
And when they pull out of that wing to set, they shoot the gap third down and three.
Now the.
West Coast said.
The pass is to Hunter Wolfe.
Knocked down at the corner by Logan Bennett.
The Caro defense is just three points dancing and going.
Yeah, that time it wasn't even the Blitz made him a quarterback.
The linebackers won't walk up and it won't back.
That's just for down linemen.
Getting after the ball quarterback, coming off the pursuit, playing the option perfectly, taking the angle.
Jonathan Bryant.
Jake Dunn will kick it away.
For Noa Paul from the 21 Jonathan Bryan back at the 32.
Good snap good kick I get fair catch taken at the throw outs down there on the cover and here comes the serve maker offense once more.
Tell you one at some point Carson Baker offense is going to wear itself out.
Five possessions, five touchdowns for the serve makers in the third quarter.
An amazing performance.
First down, ten makers up half the 31 Palmer of Columbus waiting to meet the winner of this one for the state triple championship next week.
Again, off.
The left side to red zone.
O'Brien, Bryant and Wooten have put on a running back clinic today.
That time, it was just good execution on the right side of the defense, being able to grab Bryant by the ankles as he tried to go by.
That's really been the problem so far.
They've not been able to make that initial hit as he went through, as both of these banks have gone through the line of scrimmage.
Up to the 36 gain of 5/2 down.
And five Angelo piece on a counter.
Isolation.
Red zone.
O'BRIEN Up to about the 30.
Nine yard line.
See, Dillon Wolfe makes a very good hit shifting to his left from the linebacker spot steps Ryan the hole makes a very good initial hit tackle slows Bryan up just enough look at that 15 carries 183 yards two scores.
He's a junior He is a junior.
At the team Seems like a junior.
Williams is a junior.
Eisen's a junior.
Wooten's a junior.
For Bishop Third and one piece gives to Bryant.
I don't think he got the first down up to about the 39.
As far as the battle of the trenches goes, Tommy, that's probably the best we've seen out of North Ball here in the second half right side of the line, holding up the blocking long enough for Austin Wilson to come over the top.
Garrett Godwin will kick it away for Caro back at the 28 yard line.
Looks like Dylan Wolfe is going back and single safety position back at about the 3130 two fourth and a yard good snap Joplin a little pressure.
Off the side of this good but nonetheless a good kid got a bounce down.
Inside the 30 coach Tom Fuller's enjoying today.
But here is what he likes about coaching.
I think it's the experiences that you have with the kids.
You know, a lot of people say it's the wins and losses.
You know, it's not it's the fact that every day you wake up and you go to school, you're always going to run into a kid that's going need need your help in something, whether it be sports, athletics, academics, whatever it is, and find ways to meet those challenges, you know, and that's that's always something that you get up every day and kind of wonder what's going to come at your net.
Coach Tom Football Vaccaro, Sir Michael Jackson rolling looking to throw not to be pulled down by Jake Elkins up out of bounds the 34 yard line he's got to have enjoyed today coach for long yeah.
He's got to enjoy the performance he's had a lot of guys like his linebacker Elkins just saw 45 and 15 at Cairo in his fifth season.
And when you get above 700 as a winning percentage, as a high school football coach, you're doing a lot right.
Gain was 6 seconds and.
Four Baby and Jackson stumbles set back thanks to Epps down a block on the quarter.
Up to the 43/1 down yardage.
Fabian Jackson A nice move on the corner.
Jonathan Bryant on the start.
Lester Harrell also helping out there from the corner and again watch Harrell He's on the right side, he's in the backfield.
Watch him come back into your screen.
That's just trying to get to the ball.
It's putting helmets on the ball that's just pure.
Just out will.
That's just Will from the defensive side.
A very active road defense for him.
It's trying to throw the ball a whole lot.
They tried the previous play there you see Jackson one for four on the day.
Jackson man in Motion got a block on the corner.
Wolfe Trying to get around the corner and got to be caught and thrown.
Dillon Wolfe on the carry.
Jonathan Bryant on a stop.
Problem you have with those into rounds and guys receivers on the end around is if you do not immediately take that angle, you're running parallel to the line of scrimmage.
Yet the defenders are all running upfield.
They're catching that angle.
They're breaking that angle down.
Excellent point.
You're running east and west and they're going north and south.
At some point, that angle meets in the middle there.
The second down loss of one.
Second and 12.
Jackson throwing incomplete.
Pass was intended for Andrew thing good coverage out there again by the crowd defense as outstanding as the offense has been the defense has been just that good in the second half.
Here's another look.
That short route I don't think was his first read.
I think he wanted to go deep, but Bottesford had the deep man covered pretty well, and even if that had been completed, probably wouldn't have gotten a whole lot out of it because of James Wilcox was right there.
Good coverage.
There's so many playing words you can make it assert makers.
That's got to be great for those out there.
They love to make the signs.
For the games.
Third and 12.
Jackson's going to.
Run the draw and be very close to a first down.
Jonathan Bryant makes the stop.
Excellent foot speed from Fabian Jackson.
A play designed to go to the right.
Tommy I think Jackson, if he was going to keep play, was supposed to go to the right defense, had pursued to the right Jackson enough speed to make something happen.
Now get out on the perimeter to the left now they've got to close the first time.
No, the ball, I believe, has been in Caro.
Territory in the second.
Half, fourth and two.
Jackson gives the wolves.
First down and more down at the 39.
Hunter Wolfe.
With an excellent run down there.
Bobby Epps comes out and he picks up the quarterback right off the end.
Just enough James Wilcox on the staff for Caro.
And this is the running attack Tommy that North Ball wanted to come out and establish did so in the first quarter.
You saw it fall off a little bit for the in the second quarter and it was just nonexistent.
The third.
First down ten now.
For the Trojans Wolfe, Dillon Wolfe across the right side.
Got a good initial block at the corner, but it kind of broke down when the secondary came flying up there to help.
He had Epps delivering the block from the fullback position.
It's just the right side of this defensive line, left side, the offensive line versus the right side of the offensive line.
Carroll was just winning that battle right now.
That's really all there is to it.
Nothing more complicated than that.
It's just a lot of pressure from these defensive tackles out there on the field.
Second down and eight for the Trojans now down at the Caro 37, Jackson going to run the option, going to pitch it to Epps at the corner.
Good stiff arm down there down to about the 31 or the 32 Xavier Jordan on the stop but Epps with some kind of stiff arm here on the option.
Quarterback just comes right down the line designed pitch but nowhere to go with the short side of the field.
Epps has had a good game for North.
Yes, he's an impressive kid.
He's a very impressive kid in a lot, like Jonathan Bryant we talked about from Cairo.
He goes out and he picks up this tough loss.
Third down.
Three, Jackson counter trap Wolfe, Dylan Wolfe down.
To the 25/1, down once more for Norm Paul.
This is an impressive drive by north wall here.
Good blocking up front.
Yeah it is.
Tommy Bryce Gordon I believe your linebacker.
Nope.
Was that body, Phil?
Jerry Butterfield just catching about a foot as he went by.
Could have gone the distance.
Down at the 25.
Now first down and ten Fabian Jackson brings about traditional wing with one wide good block Wolfe at the corner broke a tackle Wolfe down inside the 15 down to the 14 Hunter Wolfe on the carrying good leg strength by Hunter Wolfe when he hit the hole if you'll watch.
Believe you and I could have ran through that hole, Tommy.
I don't think so.
Good job at the offensive line.
Open it up.
That tunnel high.
You could have made it through.
I've seen you move.
I said I've seen you move out there looking for that car.
It's turned to pass lost and look at that it first it dead at the 14 yard line Jackson gets it once more to Wolfe Down inside the ten Down to the nine Hunter Wolfe once more honorable to the left Dillon Wolves to the right.
Matt Heinz the guard pulling along with patience.
Get out there, pick up some of those blockers.
Does exactly what it's designed to do.
On second and five this has been an impressive.
Brass and long ball.
They've executed very well.
This has been the last two possessions defensively for North Hall execution wise and offensively it's been the best we've seen here.
Midway through the fourth quarter.
Swing set one wide out to give this to.
Wolfe Touchdown North Pole that's a reflection of your coach when you're down as much as they are 2 minutes ago.
That's a reflection of your coaching staff.
And now extra point to put it three way but it's been home of Dillon Wolfe for the running game.
Kick starts it closed by two missed tackles going into the end zone nine yard.
Touchdown run by Hunter Wolfe and the Trojans work hard for that one Jake Dunn will attempt to add the point from placement.
Good snap and the kick is up and the kick is good.
Caro 42 Goal Ball Answers 21.
Here's another look at the touchdown.
You see it from that angle.
He just cuts back inside to his right as he found the angle.
And a good comeback.
Look at his feet changing direction a couple of times.
Very agile, running back.
I'll tell you again, even more impressive haircut.
11 plays, 63 yards, 601 time of possession.
Hunter Wolfe with a nine yard touchdown run very impressive by north.
All thing my wife would do if I showed up for that kind of haircut.
She would probably send you packing, man Caro 42, North Haul 21.
A very impressive drive by Bob Christmas.
This football team, all of us at GPB, want to express our thanks to.
Jay Rosenberg and his staff and score Atlanta for their excellent three though coverage of all our games this weekend at the Georgia Dome.
I got a chance to pick up.
They had a nice spread of them out here in the press area.
Blast.
Very good coverage.
North Hall with an onside kick.
I don't think it traveled ten yards.
Jonathan Bryant covers at the 4949.
Responded in the fourth down let's say it went to got the angle.
Yeah she was well let's see now.
Depending on where their what the ruling is is feet were fine the 50.
First down zero at the 49/1 and ten to give is to red zone O'Brien and Bryant cracks off the left side.
The big plays have been off the right side.
Hey, they have a lot of speed.
This care serve maker all six enjoyable nine in Atlanta for those who've made the trip of 75, I guess it's up 75, maybe 75 more or isn't even close down there to south Georgia.
Because I need an outlet for that.
I'll let you handle travel arrangements.
Second and eight Bryant on the carry down inside the 45.
It's been an impressive showing, especially in the second half for Carroll.
Next week, crosser makers Barber of Columbus Tigers for the state triple A championship next weekend.
If you athletes in that game just a few.
And based on what we've seen over the past two days of the triple A semifinals should be a dandy.
No shortage of athletes or speed on the field, but those two teams meet.
Angelo face on third and.
Five going to get for Reginald Bryant.
He broke another tackle and goes down.
But the four yard line.
Where Graham Duncan brings it down, Mr. Bryant.
Has put on.
A show 41 yards on a play that he was stopped at the line of scrimmage.
Never moves, never stop moving those feet.
That will be the one that does it.
That's the ballgame.
A very impressive performance by the.
Caro sirup makers.
35 unanswered points.
In the third quarter was 14 to 7 at the half.
Unbelievable great performances that we've seen here in the triple night games.
Next week, Ro Carver of Columbus, the Sirup Makers and the Tigers for the triple-A Championship.
Let's go down to the sidelines.
Gerald Olivieri.
Gerald.
Hey, Tommy, I'm here with Coach for The Great Win for your program.
Talk about what this means for the school and the community.
Oh, anytime you can get the state championship game, especially in the South Georgia community, it means a lot.
You know, we're going to find out here in about 20 minutes whether or not it's going to be at home.
It would be big time if we could bring it to K Road.
But if we don't, you know, we're in the final game and I'm sure we'll take a big crowd up there.
Now, tell me, what did you say to your team at halftime?
They came out with the sense of urgency.
What did you say?
The same thing we told them back in week two.
We were down Thomasville, 14, nothing.
And coming off the field, the kids just kind of kicking around a little bit and complained and we told them, you know, man, we're going to state we're gonna stay on our backs against the wall together and we're going to go out there and we're going to we're going to fight with each other and whoever wins, wins.
We're not going to sit here and complain about it.
We're going to play football the way we know how to play it.
And 35 points later, I think we showed it.
Well, I'll tell you, you need to put that in the bottle and sell it.
Good luck next week.
Back up to you, Tommy.
All right, final score, 40 to 21.
Caro, a winner for Ryan Chambers and Darryl Oliveri.
That's Tommy Palmer.
