Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorshipWhy from the Georgia Dome in Atlanta as the 2009, GHSA for a State Football Championship tonight.
It's the Clark Central Gladiators at 12 and 2 out of Region 8, taking on the once beaten Sandy Creek.
Fighting Patriots, the region Champs out of region five Sandy Creek.
Their first trip to the Dome Clark Central.
The dominant program in North Georgia throughout the 70s and 80s back here in 2009 alongside my broadcast partner.
DJ Jones.
I'm Dave Here's a former Georgia, Bulldog DJ looking forward to a great matchup here tonight between two teams loaded with athletes athletes.
Absolutely these two teams.
Both are very deserving of being here.
And I'm going to be very eager to see which one wins the ring tonight.
Absolutely.
Let's talk about this Clark Central team.
Of course, the program, as we mentioned, dominant in their history, but it's been since 1992 since they've had a title appearance there, in the big game tonight.
Well, tell you what inaudible Clark Central to be successful tonight.
This guy you're looking at Marte Maddox, he transferred from Crosstown rival Cedar, Shoals.
But he is the reason why the Clark Central Gladiators are in this title game.
He can beat you with his arm and he can beat you with his legs.
Great player offensively and defensively.
You got guys that stand out like Jordan Pierce, Jordan peers.
He's the son of a coach so you know that he knows what he's doing.
He watches a lot of film but it's just a funny thing about this young man.
Here are some funny socks.
You don't see him right now but some candy striper socks.
Let me tell you something.
If you wear candy striper socks and your a linebacker, a big-time linebacker, you better be able to play, you better be ready to play and how appropriate for this.
Some of your now.
Leroy Mi is in his fourth season as a head coach at Clark Central and we caught up with Coach Roz to get his game plan tonight, and what we can expect from the Gladiators.
Offensively we will multiply team we based on the I formation but we try to move around a little bit.
We'll put a little one back.
I will go a little shotgun.
We try to do a multiple amount of things to kind of get the defense of different look here and there.
It all starts with the quarterback, I quarterback is very important and I offense far as setting the Declaration the path tations and how we're going to block things defensively.
Now we based on a three for some people may call it an under front, that We try to bring a little pressure from that 34 because we got a lot of linebacker tight kids on my team but it all starts with our deepest of iron.
You know, those three guys down I have to do a great job of a sudden the edge and I get some pressure on the quarterback when it passes and things of that nature coach Riles for years for playoff seasons has done a remarkable job.
Alright.
DJ, let's talk about Sandy Creek a team loaded with D1, commitments.
Absolutely.
You know, last year they felt they should have One this game.
So they came into this game tonight with a chip on their shoulders and they have something to prove.
Absolutely.
Of course, the team that a lot of people felt like would be in the title game last year, as you mentioned and now, here they are this year and they're led by Irish on Neal, you're looking at him.
That's the guy.
Everybody wants one of the top running backs in all of the state of Georgia over 1,500 yards, rushing and over 30 touchdowns.
That's a lot of touchdowns.
Absolutely Neil.
Of course, the guy we're going to call a lot tonight and then on the other side of the ball clinard Stokes put it on.
Stokes he's a heady player, he's going to be the difference-maker on.
Defense.
You're barely rarely.
Found this guy out of position.
He's gonna be making plays sideline to sideline.
He leads the team in tackles Sandy Creek.
Defense has been awesome throughout the entire postseason.
Will chip Walker's, a chip off the old block.
Of course he succeeded Rodney Walker his father at Sandy Creek, has done a great job.
Here's coach Walker with what we can expect tonight from the fighting Patriots offensively.
We're multiple.
I we have a real good tailback rage, I kneel.
So he'll be a focal point of our offense will do.
A lot of movement, some shifting, but the bread and butter of our offense is the power game, Power G. And then we'll also play action pass off of that.
Have several good wide outs that are committed to division one schools.
And so, we'll try to play action, pass off that, that when a little bit of 3-step defensively, we are four base everything out of the 43, and we try to cover two.
We try to get as many people to the balls.
We can run to the football is too big.
It would try to do and then just aggressive defense.
Coach Walker's team trying to claim their first State title here in 2009.
Well time now to beat the other member of our broadcast team here tonight.
Giroud Oliveri joins us on the field with more on this one.
Gerald, thanks a lot, Dave.
As you guys mentioned earlier, rejean neela's going to be a big key to this matchup.
When I talked to Coach Roz before the game.
Not only was he concerned about the running of rejean Neal, he was also concerned about the play-action pass.
So we talked to his Corners about making sure they don't get beat over top.
Now, when I talk to coach Walker, he was mainly concerned about the to space heaters.
Front number 62, Jr. Blackman and number 99 7 Wilhite.
He said, getting them block, is going to be the key to the success today.
Now, there is one official that should be here today who's not Bobby Willis from All-Stars officials had three ruptured disc in his neck.
Want to send our well wishes, I'll to you back up to you Dave.
Thanks Carolyn, our thoughts and prayers certainly with Bobby right there, we'll take a timeout and be right back.
Kick off coming up, GHSA for a State title on the line.
When we return B here inside the Georgia Dome, as we get set to her, Rock and roll with the Sandy Creek, fighting Patriots and the Clark Central Gladiators for a title game on the line here tonight.
As you see the Gladiators through their Banner, a moment ago, Dave Garner DJ Jones, Gerald, olivieri on the field tonight, along with the rest of the GPB crew, and I tell you what, DJ, this crowd is fired up.
It is.
And as you look at the Sandy Springs Sandy's Creek crowd there now is over the Gladius but the, you know, Sandy Creek travels extremely well.
Last week, they took over 3,000 fans with them on the road and they're certainly At least 3,000 here in the dome tonight.
A lot of folks have filed in here, making the trip to Atlanta as Clark Central gets set to boot it away for the opening kickoff.
And what do you want?
If you can't get fired up in an atmosphere like this, they had.
I don't know what's going to happen here.
You look at the road to the dome for Clark Central, defeating Maze and round one, a close game.
Southwest DeKalb was the big surprise DJ and round two.
And then after that, North Clayton, Rockdale County 28-nothing of binging that loss in the sea.
Me finals.
They had earlier in the year.
Certainly a great season by coach Riles, as you look at him right there.
You know, he had the distinct pleasure of working with one of the icons in the game lose, Nick Saban, we'll talk about that a little bit later.
Sandy Creek, of course, Loganville Tucker, Thomas County, Central and Griffin the road to State, for the Patriots, and the opening kickoff by Adam Erickson goes out of the back of the endzone and Sandy Creek, will have it first and 10 from the 20.
Of course, the quarterback for the Sandy Creek, team is Ronnie Bell.
And you see his numbers?
Seven of 2005 over 1700 yards 15 touchdowns just for pics and he's a junior you want real Johnson was an outstanding quarterback last year.
He's now at East Carolina, they didn't know who was going to be the quarterback this year, but whiny bail has certainly performed better than they expected.
There were a lot of question marks coming in DJ into the season about the quarterback spot for the Patriots, but Ronnie Bell has gone above and beyond the challenges this year.
We'll take a look at the rest of the off its after this play.
And rejean Neal with his first carry that I'd around the corner, watch out 35.
And leaps up to the 40.
A touchdown saving, Tackle by Ty Simmons, the free safety and Neil already making his presence felt.
Let's go ahead and take a look at the starting lineup for the Sandy Creek offense.
The center is Nolan flanked by Johnson and Whitlock, the guards simcoe's, the big tackle headed to Air Force and Adams on the offensive line and then of course in the backfield Neal and Bennett Chism Davis and Pew, excellent wide receivers and good targets for a bell.
so after a big pickup of 20 yards on the first play First and Ten from the 40, I formation this time been at the full-back will lead the way Neal with the second period.
This time going nowhere.
Clark Central defense doing a great job up front.
Let's take a look at that gladiator defense.
And you see these guys Bradshaw a year?
Be Blackman.
And we'll hide and they are big.
The linebacking corps is also solid with haricot, Maxwell and Pierce.
We talked about up top and of course, the secondary tonight for deep go Smalls and Glenn is the corners Evans and Simmons.
The safeties once again your Clark Central defense, when you talk about Clark Center of gladiator, front for, when you talk about number 99 7, will hide and Jr. Blackman those two guys are going to be a force to be reckoned with up inside.
There are kind, of course with that last tackle second down and about nine and a half right here, this time, a little bootleg Bell going to fire down.
The field has an incomplete big gain in the Gladiator territory all the way down to the 37th goes Jarrett Davis with his first reception of the night and there we go.
DJ one of those big three-headed receiving monsters per se.
Sandy Creek.
Take a look at this play action, pass, as Gerald Alvaro.
Talked about it on the pregame.
He got a good fake up inside.
We got the release had an open.
Receiver was able to hit Gary, Davis who's committed to Louisville for a nice game there, you look at Davis, has numbers on the year, the senior, with over 600 yards, receiving and five touchdowns on the year.
So Sandy Creek on the move here and their opening drive Winds near side.
One up top, and the owns the loan back, took it to carry.
He's got some real estate and out of bounds.
He goes just shy of the first down marker.
After 31, great acceleration by a great running back.
Mississippi State wants this kid and he wants to go there.
As you see him taking the handoff coming near side, a lot of speed, a lot of power of great running back.
Seen the oh, right there.
5 11, 2005 senior has the school record for touchdowns in a season.
And for career, this is a relatively young Sandy Creek program, only 18 years altogether but they've been to the playoffs 10 times in those eight.
Eighteen years second down and 2 and the give this time, Neil in the middle, all kinds of Real Estate.
Neil 10 5 touchdown, rejean Neil outstanding acceleration and of course, great job up front by the offensive line Center Jake, Nolan and offensive guard Chris Whitlock opening up the hold.
As we take a look at it right here up inside and taking the handoff right up through the two hole there between Whitlock and Nolan and he runs to the Zone, untouched.
31 yards on the run for rejean Neal.
Zach Lopez will attempt to add the p80.
The senior kicker has been superb this year and he knocks it right through there.
So, with 10:36 remaining, in this opening quarter, DJ Sandy Creek, out of the gate strong no doubt who has the early Tempo here, as The Patriots were able to march the ball right down the field.
Take another look at this hand off up inside, right through the two holes are actually, the I was the one hole great blocking up inside and when you get when you're running back and you don't have anybody to touch you even at the second level, you know what, that's the kind of day that you wish for.
Gladiators defensively.
When you look at those guys up front, as you see, the scoring drive right there, five plays 80 yards, just a minute 24 off the clock at first and deal with the Capper that 31-yard touchdown run.
This is a big Gladiator front on defense credit Sandy creaks offensive line as we take another look at it from downstairs and you can only appreciate the acceleration.
Is young, man is so smooth and you can tell I got an opportunity, this watch him on tape, doing some Thrills and he has it all.
He has speed, he has quickness, he has a chili, and he has power, Go DJ.
This is not a very big offensive line, for Sandy Creek.
They only averaged around 215 220 pounds or so, but they've got to work it out for for Shawn Watson, back deeper, Clark Central on the return, and he's going to be hit hard.
It's shy of the 20, good tackle, by number 21, Cedric bird.
The senior on special teams now, eccentric, Barrett got a kick out of that tackle because, you know, last year, he was a teammate of the Clark Central Gladiators, you know, he transferred down here, came to move.
When live, with his dad.
But he was a teammate in a very good player for the Clark Central Gladiators there.
If you look at Marseilles, Maddox numbers, we talked about him up top, over 1700 yards, passing 15 touchdowns, he really mirrors, Ronnie Bell of Sandy Creek.
Now, let's see what Madison can do.
A lot of people feel like he's probably the best athlete arguably on the field tonight.
First and 10 will take a look at the rest of the offense in the moment twins left and right.
Empty backfield set.
Now a man in motion and they'll keep it on the ground and the give is over the left side to watch.
But not much there at all.
Nice job by that Sandy Creek, defense up front, here is the Gladiator offense, Thomas the center flanked, by Chester and Harris, the guards, Bradshaw, and Posey.
With the tackles and they're big and the Back, Sir, Williams Watson receivers, our homes.
Heard and Hughes the three H's provide great targets for Marte Maddox on offense.
Marty Maddox is going to have to definitely have his a game tonight in order to stay in the game with the Patriots here because this is a very very talented football team.
Full of a lot of division, one prospects.
Clark Central just twice beating on the year.
One of those losses against Avondale.
That they were able or Rockdale that they were able to avenge that last week, there you get a look at number 23 on the carry.
That's Riggs.
The rather Appleby and there you get a look at the Sandy Creek defense and how they line up where Coleman Kaufman and rocker across the front Hilton.
Spaulding and Stokes are very good, linebacking Corps.
And in the secondary, you've got Duke Sandro at the corners Johnson and bird the safeties.
Isaiah Johnson.
We're going to be talking a lot about that young man tonight.
Indeed, third down and five, big play right here for Clark Central early, in this ball game trailing by seven.
After Sandy Creek, took the opening driving with 80 yards and five Place and that passed by Maddux is lower than complete of the intended.
Target Dimitri homes and homes will figure into that offense tonight as well.
But right now, it's the punt team that comes on the field for Clark Central.
It was a nice play by the quarterback, Shawn Roe.
He wasn't fooled at all.
Got a little play action, the other way, but he was able to hold his ground and a good throw.
Even if you would have put it on him, he would have made him and make a game.
Adam Erickson.
You saw him handles all the kicking duties as the placekicker and punter.
For the Gladiators and he'll put it away on Fourth and five back to eat.
Bruce Dukes, High snap pull down though, good Punt, and fair catch signal by Dukes at his own 44.
So Sandy Creek, back on offense, and we'll take a timeout and be right back, 8:56 to play GHSA for a State title.
Game taking place here back to GPB in a moment.
First down and ten for the Patriots toss.
Sweep Neil trying to turn.
The corner is hit stays on his feet and we'll make something out of nothing yarn a half or so, on the gain is all second down and nine coming up on that play.
You had opportunity to see the athleticism in Neil course, he didn't really have much but he was able to spend your take a look at it now.
Great Pursuit by the Gladiator defense getting meal to the edge, but he's going to Pivot and come back inside and pick up a couple of yards there when most.
Max would have gone down for a loss.
Fart Central defense, allowing 14 points a game throughout the season and they have not dropped off here in the postseason playing tougher competition.
They've only given up 14 and a half points a game and this time Bell going to swing it out to Neal who lined up out of the backfield that time, it picked up about six or seven on the quick hitter.
Neil had an opportunity there to show you that.
He also catches the ball very well out of the backfield and that's exactly why.
He's one of the highly rated running backs not just in the state of Georgia across the country because he can run out of the backfield and you can also catch passes out of the backfield and defensively.
DJ is you talked about this Gladiator defense?
They fly to the ball real.
Well, Devante Derek got with that last tackle out there in the flat.
The 6-foot 190 pound senior with over 100 tackles this year.
So a big, third down right here, third and three, Pull that Patriot off its leading seven up in here.
In this first quarter.
And this time Bell to the air will fire a past.
He's got a man complete that's Davis down at the Gladiator.
35 and a big first down a gain of 15 yards on the play outstanding, play by running build.
It looked like he checked off to that particular play.
Look like a little skinny post to Jared Davis, but you can definitely tell that this team is in sync.
They understand their game plan and they're ready to play.
Look at built with the check off their to hit and Davis right on the numbers that ball looked like it may be a bit tipped, all the way there.
Davis, of course, 511 175-pound senior.
So First, and Ten, once again, Patriots on the move here with seven minutes left here, in this opening period and once again kneel on the ground goes right into the teeth of that gladiator defense.
But not much there there you look at Jordan Pearson, those those candy cane.
Striped socks, you talked about DJ there in the pregame, man.
You got to be tough.
You know what to go out.
Like that.
I can only imagine the teams that I played for the guys on the team.
Obviously will give us all kinds of crap.
Well you know, they talked to Coach Wiles and they said as long as he continues to make plays, he can wear the socks but now if he ever quits making, the plays are going back to the plain white.
That's okay.
Now there's a couple of guys out there, weren't some different Unis here tonight, second down, and nine, after a short gain on first down by Neil.
And this time toss sweep, pretty much been the number 25 show here, early on good, open field, tackle there.
Bye herb Evans, number 14 for Clark Central, the junior coming up there and run support and forcing Neil out of bounds.
Big Time play there because he was coming up one-on-one with a big-time running back.
Was able to get him to the ground.
Here you take another look at it.
Neil takes the sweep to the right side.
Take a look at her Bevins coming up.
To make the play.
He was not going to be a lot of Secrets, I don't think it's Gladiator defense.
A lineup, typically in a three fourth type of look, they're gonna crowd guys up the line of scrimmage so far though, they still have been able to stop Neil much.
But here's a big, third down of coming right here, third and six.
Once again, twins near side bail under Center at Center is Nolan just a sophomore.
One of the more inexperience guys along that offensive front and this one knocked away defensively intended for Davis but that was Tony blend the corner who look like got to pawn it knocked it down, forcing a fourth down, you know, Glenn.
Glenn actually saw the quarterback checking off as he did to place prior to 62 tackles on the year, two, for a loss.
Glenn's done, a great job.
You know these Corners aren't very big lens.
Only 56 £148.
Small 55 135 with a state wrestler at 103.
So not very big on the edge, but these guys are quick and they still make plays feisty feisty Corners, fourth down, Sandy frequently.
The offense on the field, the show trips up top Neil the loan back in one of the near side bail under Center, they'll snap it get a fire that would knock the way.
Big play defensively by the Vontae Derek cock.
One of those guys we talked about earlier in the broadcast DJ and I got a feeling we're going to be calling a lot of 48 tonight.
That's it.
Great play there by Jericho cut almost had an interception every championship game.
This weekend is also being streamed live on the GPB Website, login at gpb.org / football, and every game will also be archived for viewing in the next 5 days.
That site.
Once again, gpb.org/sports Ballin, I know you and I, DJ always enjoy going back and look at it, those games, you know, two years ago in the driving rain down and it lands.
And here we are now a little bit more comfortable in the dome tonight.
Yeah.
Well, I tell you what, and we have to talk about that.
Later.
So after the Miss on fourth down the ball, goes back over to Clark Central.
They'll take over just outside their own 30.
Man in Motion.
That is Watson.
Swing it out here to Dimitri homes.
And that's the first time we've called homes name tonight.
The school, receiving leader broke his own record last year, he established it as a junior coming into this season.
As a senior, he broke it around or two ago in the playoffs.
Has been remarkable defensively Alonzo Harmon with the tackle for Sandy Creek?
We'll talk a lot about Dimitri homes is really been a guy.
That's gotten it done is really the centerpiece of that Park Central offense.
In addition, of course, to Maddux, the quarterback five and a half to play here in the opening period.
7-nothing Sandy Creek.
But a big defensive stop by the Gladiators has given them the football back and pressure from the backside Maddox gets rid of it.
Complete up with the 47 to home Sue tiptoed, the sidelines and God both feet in.
Well, you had an opportunity to see the arm of marty-mart, a Maddox.
Nice play there, throwing out the out, cut two homes on the sidelines, their homes, as a record.
65 catches this year, over 1,000 yards and 9 touchdowns.
You'll see Maddux here making a great throw to the boundary and a nice catch by Dmitry homes, the homes, as a great route, Runner got some separation.
You saw a bearing down on Maddox from the backside but he was able to get rid of it.
So First and Ten for Central.
And this time chip that I formation drug down, boy, look like Watson was going to have a big gain right there and then a nice job defensively by Lacey Coleman.
The Louisville.
Commit, another guy that stands out really long that defensive line for the Patriots.
Tell you what, when you put that grab on.
And that's the Clubman.
I obviously have to have some strong hands and arms to make that play.
You look at Coleman's numbers on the year, 43 tackle, 74 a loss.
And six sacks for the senior so, second and six after the gain of four, Bark Central into Sandy Creek territory for the first time tonight.
And they're going to hand it to Watson, trying to turn the corner, trying to squeeze through a little bit of a scene, but not there.
Nice job by Jonathan Kaufman.
Number 51 who was the initial guy there and you know Watson's really materialized into quite a runner but he's gonna have his hands full tonight, trying to work his way around the Sandy Creek defense.
Absolutely.
As you mentioned John at the Kauffman as well as Jamal where and govern rocker you'll see on the handoff, The Run.
Has nothing but red jerseys around him there.
Great Pursuit.
Yes.
It's a good-looking ball polarity.
He sure is.
So a big third five coming up after a gain of one on the last play, Clark Central, trying to keep the drive alive here trailing by 7.
And they'll keep it on the ground hit and dropped immediately.
Big loss of two or three on the Play Gavin rocker.
Number 95, honorable mention in Region 5.
This year came shoot through there for a big stop.
Great play by Gavin rocker stoning, the running back on that play.
Take another look at it, was able to get penetration into the backfield, budding up the running back for a loss rockers.
One of those guys overshadowed a little bit by Coleman and we're and some of those other guys up front but he certainly holds his own at 62.
2005.
And again, just a junior.
So Adam Erickson will boot it away for the second time.
As Cedric bird is back deep.
He stands with his heels at the 10.
Erickson gets it away.
Was averaging about 39 yards, a punt this year, but that one rolls into the endzone.
So 313 left here in the opening quarter.
And Clark Central still hanging back to action right here.
Sandy creek with her, third offensive Drive of the night and boy.
Rayshawn, Neal with more Running Room over the left side.
Jordan Pierce brought him down but not before another big gain of gain of 16 on the play.
Tell you what, when you're hitting the ball, he can go at any time, you hold your breath, when he gets the ball in his hands because obviously we think finds a crease, he can hit it.
Like not many people.
Look at Neil's numbers already here.
Tonight.
Eight, rushes, 81 yards, already in a touchdown.
We still got three minutes left here in the first lot of yardage here.
The Gladiators are definitely going to have to slow him down if they expect to be competitive in this ball game.
Your thoughts about Clark Central defensively or offensively for saying the craic they've averaged 33 and a half points, a game throughout the season and they haven't dropped off, much of the playoffs.
Here's Davis little in around play right there, not much there.
Nice job by the Gladiators to stay discipline on the play.
You see, they see a little up reverse into the boundary.
But great Pursuit there by the candy striper.
Man.
Himself, Jordan Pierce all over that one.
Yeah, it appears as a good-looking athlete is a big kid and he can't get over those sock not at all.
And you know, it's no secret that he is in where he's supposed to be watching a lot of film.
I like, I mentioned before, he's the son of a coach so he knows how to prepare himself.
Mentally also has an interception to his credit as well.
I'd love to see the big big man, Rumble, what would that look like, here's Bell, little bootleg rolling right now.
Under Pressure trying to get rid of it and does so down, Feel has a man they're in and out of the outstretched arms of the intended target.
That was number five, Mike's polish.
This railing the senior no mores.
A linebacker also came in and played a little bit of receiver this year and had a chance to pull that one in, as a great effort by bail, extending that play took a nice hit in the chops as he delivered that pass.
But you know, he's he's made a living this year by moving around and giving his receivers opportunity to find Open Spaces, average yards per play here in the first quarter.
Order 8.8, for Sandy Creek Park Central, just three that kind of tells you how this first quarter is gone so far.
Third down and eight right here though.
After the incompletion.
And this time Bell work out of the gun.
He's got time now, pressure fires, and that one nearly intercepted.
Devante Dara caught.
Nearly had a pick that one in and out of his hands right there.
Quack Central's had a chance at a couple here in this first quarter, but it will be fourth down.
Dear cut obviously has a great understanding of the passing Lanes.
That's his second.
Almost interception, take a look at it again here, he's just stopping.
Right in the passing Lane there and boy I tell you what I see why he's on defense for your deer caught, very impressive athlete.
And you know, either one of these quarterbacks really they put that put a lot of are under them and they're straight line throwers.
So if you could step in that passing Lane yd rakat, did you've got a shot here?
Zach Lopez who also handles the punting duties as well as the place-kicking responsibilities and he hits this one.
Hi fair.
Catch signal at the 35.
For Clark Central, Dimitri homes, with the catch.
222 here in the opening quarter.
Now, Clark Central goes back to work trailing by 7.
Let's go ahead and go on down.
Drilled Oliveri.
What do you got?
Hey, Dave Willis, you know, is you playing High School football and you're practicing on Thanksgiving Day?
You know, you've had a good season while the Gladiators brought in coach Henderson.
Legendary Hall of Fame, coach Billy Henderson to speak to the team before the quarterfinal game on Thanksgiving day.
He's also brought in about 30, former players that played with him in the 70s 80s and 90s a Dijon War said it was a trick.
Atmosphere and they talked to him about working hard effort and determination.
And, you know, since that speech they outscored their opponents, 82 13, since that day, back up to you, Dave.
All right, thank you, Gerald Watson with that last carry Cedric bird with the tackle.
Yeah, you know, Gerald talked about Coach Henderson, the legendary coach, Billy Henderson o'clock Central, fourth won three state titles.
7770 1985.
I don't believe he's at the game tonight, but being honored tomorrow, next door at the World Congress Center as part of the Atlanta Falcons, a high school luncheon.
They're receiving the Atlanta Falcons Lifetime Achievement Award.
I'm very familiar with Coach Henderson.
Who am I from my days in Athens in the early 80s.
But I wonderful job with this program.
As we have coach from 73 to 95 at Clark Central.
Here is a big second down and long and boy that's put art.
Stokes the guy we talked about in the pregame who laid the wood against Watson.
Great leverage in a great blow by clinard Stokes on the tackle.
Stokes is so explosive as a linebacker.
You see.
Maddux.
Working out the shotgun Watson.
This had a bulk of the curious, but going nowhere.
Absolutely.
Stokes 5-10, 195 pound senior over 100 tackles this year in a couple of sacks to go along with it.
So third and nine right here.
Winds up top for Maddox and that gladiator offense.
Pressure coming once again, gets rid of it has a man there under through it into double, maybe even triple coverage Sandy Creek, had it played nicely in the secondary lot of pressure on Maddox as he delivered that play.
I think Clark Central was wanting maybe a late penalty, a late hit there on the quarterback but did not get the call right there.
So forth and 9 and they'll boot away.
What?
S other look at it.
And you see him had him covered up there.
Good coverage by Spalding the linebacker who dropped back at the middle of the field there and had him covered up.
So once again, Adam Erickson will punt it away.
And he'll stand inside his own 25 with 51 seconds, left here.
Clark Central with a man on the field late.
We'll have to hurry to get this one off in time.
They do.
And this one will roll Bruce Dukes, a big playground, special teams.
That's one area.
We haven't talked a lot about here tonight, and Clark Central, obviously aware of what Sandy Creek is done in the postseason and they want to try to kick it away from those return men as best they can.
Rejean Neal back to action out of bounds there, after a gain of 2 at sambar days and his crew have done a wonderful job over the years and the longest running High School sports and academics program in the estate and it just keeps on going.
Those guys won a bunch of awards to, huh?
I think so.
I think so.
Sandy Creek cheerleaders fired up here tonight.
I'm sure got this home crowd Rockin.
36 seconds left here in the opening period.
DJ, it's been a good ballgame Santa Cruz but the loan store, but it looks like Clark Central's defense to settle down a little bit.
They made some adjustments.
Cheers Bell to throw and he's under pressure.
Go down back at the 15th big rush that time by the Gladiators off the edge and they get to bail for the first time tonight.
Take your pick Blackman on the stop along with Evans, couple of different guys in there.
Great penetration by the Gladiators as you see them converging on the quarterback running Bell.
What are your, what big number 62 RJ black when they call them Mount?
Cody is his nickname that senior stands well over 330 pounds and boy.
I tell you what.
It's a good thing that he didn't fall on bail.
Rather Bell falling on him.
Otherwise he'd been hurt.
Look at that.
Yeah, yeah.
You got black men at 3:15 and Bradshaw at 2:33.
Wow.
And that's it for quarter.
Number one, you're watching the 2009, GHSA State football championships on GPB Sandy Creek, leads it, 7-0, nothing.
Sandy Creek leaves at seven now playing as we start the second quarter, they've gone a DJ Jones with you.
Gerald, olivieri on the field.
Jordan Pierce already with six tackles here DJ making his presence felt in the early going.
Absolutely.
Again, this guy is a very intelligent football player.
He does his thing because he studies a lot, you know, it the differs in a good football player and a great football player is your film work.
You gotta go in the classroom, you got to study tendencies that you got to watch film third down a Long play right there.
Incomplete Bells.
Pass intended for Davis, and it will be fourth down.
So, Sandy Creek, will boot the football and going back to report before the break about this Gladiator defense settling down.
It looks like they have indeed done that since that opening 80-yard drive this fight area defense is force, Zach Lopez to be able to feel a little bit more than coach Walker with luck Lopez.
It first handles the punting duties, will boot it away and Barks inch or with Dimitri homes stands to gain pretty good field position.
We have some movement up front, Practice snap false start is red, fourth down there.
You look at Larry Cook the head man here tonight.
Brandon Brock John here, old Derek Willis, Richard Hammond, Bobby Savage, and Don, Brian the crew here working before a state football championship mr. Cook their, the man under the white hat here tonight, I believe that's the first penalty of the night here.
In quarter comes in quarter number two, fourth down and 40 and this is, of course, a punt out of End zone for Zach, Lopez Holmes, a very dangerous Return Man.
Will signal a fair catch at the Sandy Creek, 42.
So the best starting field position of the night for Clark's intro, DJ.
And now they got to see if that offense can get going.
Well, we need viewers like you to help support the live broadcast of these games.
You can show your support by becoming a member of Georgia public broadcasting simply call 1-866-931-6190 now.
Org is thank you very much.
Much for supporting Georgia, public broadcasting.
And in these games are always a fun thing.
It's worse, basketball and March High School football with full weekend of games of first class has one three and five tomorrow here inside the Georgia Dome live on GPB.
First and Ten as Marty Maddox goes back to work again.
Thomas is his Center.
A junior 182 pounds and backside pressure.
Oh Maddox is hit that ball is loose and it's ruled incomplete.
Jamal we're great penetration great play by the defensive end.
Getting to the quarterback because he had a man open, downfield.
You'll see him come off the edge, from the back side, no way, did Matic see him coming?
Great play that hand was going forward just in time here.
As we take another look at it and that ball may have been just about coming out right before that and went forward there.
Where, of course leads this Patriot defense and tackles for losses.
You see, he's got nine right here with six and a half sacks to go along with it.
We're showing a lot of speed there.
A lot of quickness up front.
You see Maddux.
Getting readjusted over there on the edge.
Clark Central, sideline now has the playable come back in.
Barr Central team again.
1997 was the last 10-plus win season had a little bit of a layoff after being the dominant team in North Georgia throughout the 70s and 80s their last player.
State Tile appearance was back in 92, they've won three, they've lost for all four losses came against Austin, 84 86, 89 and 92.
But here they are again, back in 2009.
We Reviving The Old tradition and there's a completion inside the 35 to Holmes, who has his second catch of the night.
Martin Maddox delivered, a strike to Dimitri homes on that play.
He was able to plant that back foot and get the extension he did it.
From taking the coming right at you.
Look at that fastball there a clock it about 89 miles an hour.
Let's say homes need to capture spit on that one.
Well that's a big play right there on second down and brings up third and short in a much more manageable, third down situation after that incompletion on the play before as it, see homes right here again, the all-time the season seat single season, receiving leader at Clark Central.
Now it's the Gladiators on the Move.
Inside the Patriot 35, here's Watson, trying to turn the corner.
Stays on his feet.
Takes a big pop over there on the sideline.
That is number 12, Bruce Dukes, the outstanding Junior, the lot of folks are talking about is one of the two Juniors on this team.
Already seat receiving, the highest offers high school students.
Watch how Corner comes up and holds contain, that's how you step up and put your head in your shoulder right into the action.
And that's why Deuces getting some looks already for some SEC.
Schools, are you look at kishan Watson's numbers?
This year?
Really picked it up towards the latter, part of the season, five touchdowns averaging over six of carry.
It just a sophomore.
So, this guy's going to be around Coach Rawls for quite some time.
A lot of good football left for watching.
So we talked about the question marks for Sandy Creek at quarterback.
Question marks really about the Run game, you know, Maddox is really the, do it all guy but Watson is really stepped up towards the latter part of the Season.
That one going to be blown dead right here.
But this Park Central offense, picking up the pace over the last two.
Playoff games, of course blanking Rockdale County 28 nothing in the first foot of 52 against North plate.
In the quarters practice cook with the fall right.
There are head man here tonight.
Little backup.
Glad he's got five yards.
Sparks it for Coach Leroy Mi and assistant under Nick, Saban at LSU back in 2004 very impressive, pedigree there.
Of course, a head coach in Florida at the age of 24, had a lot of success down in Sarasota.
Florida is a high school coach.
Joint savings staff a 2004 for one year, but took away a lot of valuable lessons and just that one year with say, but of course, is now playing for a national championship, in Alabama.
Here's Marte Maddox on the keeper and he Powers his way forward.
But back to a bow, The line of scrimmage and that's it.
Nice job defensively once again, dukes and Stokes combining for the stock, that's actually the first rushing play that.
We've seen from that.
Ex he's the leading rusher for the Gladiators.
But you see made a couple of guys, miss dropped his shoulders and picked up some good yardage.
The sidelines Cedar Creek defensively allowing just 11 points during the season, talk about the offense and how explosive they are.
But this defense has really been the heart and soul of this football team, they've only allowed 16 points throughout the postseason.
Parkcentral now with a big second down and long here, second and 10.
Maddox, once again, look at the throw.
The football now under pressure has some Running Room.
He will head for the corner.
Try to make one man, miss boot open field.
Tackle by Mike Spalding is that a couple of nice defensive plays already?
In this first half the manageable third down right here.
Maddux, with his legs.
Get it done.
Spotting me to excellent.
Play out in open, feel when you get one-on-one with a guy.
That is inclusive.
Asthmatics is and you're able to bring them down by yourself.
That's that's the And a lot.
Take a look at it here.
Can you imagine an open field with a guy as elusive as man taxes and take a look at Spalding making the stop didn't over-pursue could have very easily.
Yes Maddox makes a lot of guys.
Miss Spalding.
Those great job.
Maddox completes 58 percent of his passes.
Third down and five.
They'll keep it on the ground watching.
Straight ahead is hit and dropped.
Well, shy of the first down marker.
So decision time here for Coach Riles and that Clark central office, it's sort of in that in between land here.
Leonard, Stokes along with Jonathan Kaufman.
And Got gabbing rocker on the player.
Looks like we might see Adam Erickson right here, attempt, a field goal, Or hash right here, again Erickson today.
49 yarder earlier in the season, this percentage, not where he would like it to be.
This is going to be a 39-yard field goal attempt.
Well on extra points this year, get Adam Erickson these senior, take it over both kicking and punting duties toward a small region punter, last year.
But Erickson has come in and taken over that job as well.
And now, we've got a whistle Once again, Larry cook with the ball delaying game, it's an offense, five-yard penalty and DJ with his range, you know, being able to take a 49-yard of that, that might have been intentional right there to move him back in a little bit better angle because I'm high school football obviously got such a harsh, you know, you split the field into thirds, the hashes are little bit further further apart there.
So might be some strategy here.
That'll back it up, make it a 44, yard attempt still well within it.
Erikson's.
Reach.
High snap, they get it down.
The kick is on the way and it's blocked partially block.
Someone got a hand on it and Sandy Creek, Special team.
Stepping up, we talk about the return game and how big it's been in the postseason and the return game and everything they've done.
And then somebody gets a hand on it right here.
That Jamal where 32 maybe that came in there and got it.
Yeah, he had some big plays defensively here in the first half.
Now, a big block, let's go downstairs, Gerald, olivieri, and check in with him Gerald, what do you got for us as you see?
Number 21, Cedric bird for Sandy Creek, got in there and help to make that block, he actually was all region as safety for Clark Central last year this summer, he went to live with his dad and Fayette counties.
So he transferred from Clark Central to Sandy Ironically on the date of the left.
Clark Central, he joked with his friends, what it would be like to play against them and he knew that would have to happen in the playoffs and now here they are.
They've been talking trash back and forth all week, and as you see, he just got in and made a big play.
Back up to you day and I'm sure he's going to let those guys in a little bit about that as well.
You know, being able to get a partial block right here, you know, Birdo was all region.
All Region 8 last year, grew up in this car and Central program.
Now, at Sandy Creek, I do, it's got to be Bittersweet.
He's here in the title game but playing against his old teammates and so, something's gonna have to give here tonight, that's for sure.
So, after the old block right here than the gain of seven at second and three for Sandy Creek, who goes back on the offensive Trail here to looks like we got a timeout called by the Patriots.
But skip Walker, calling the timeout with 817 left here.
In this first half coach Walker, a chance to become the first son to win a title of a father who also did it will step aside be right back with more on that from the Georgia Dome.
When we return Sandy Creek up 7, nothing on Clark Central, 8:17 left here in the first half.
Dave Garner DJ Jones, Gerald Oliveira the field tonight.
The rest of our GPB grew Rich.
Of course, keep me straight up here on the spot tonight.
We're supposed at guys in the house here as well, a GP camera, folks, obviously doing a great job as always, and as expected there, certainly stepping up to the plate here tonight.
Meanwhile, it's a big second down right here for Sandy Creek offensively with a seven nothing lead.
Davis once again the end around the try the right side this time, but nothing doing a great job.
Defensively, Jordan, Pierce.
Once again.
Number 95 getting his number called there's a fine job of Defense there by Jordan Pierce.
Again, not Letting Jerry Davis beat him to the outside, talking about how to go about Coach Walker, DJ and howl.
lamb is Jessie?
Pierces, already eight.
Tackles here.
How Lamb Of course of Calhoun.
Had a chance earlier tonight to be the first son to win a title of a father who also mode of title, the first cow, who just falling short in a great game against Buford.
Some now coach Walker has a chance.
Rowdy, of course, his father winning a title with West Rome back in 84.
Here is third down in boy, going nowhere, that time tears.
Bradshaw can't shoot through there for class Central.
Big stop defensively for the Gladiators and they look to get the football back here.
With eight minutes, left in the half and a chance to possibly, get back in this thing.
And tied up, you know, you have to be impressed with the adjustments that were made by the clerk Central's defensive unit.
You know, that opening drive there, the Patriots were able to march the ball right down the field.
Of course the 31-yard touchdown run by rejean Neil, but no nothing has been able to happen for him.
It's that particular.
Drive and they've definitely settled into a Groove here.
Zach Lopez to punt it away High snap.
It's a download a bit of pressure right here, Dimitri homes back deep.
Once again parent catch signal hasn't had a lot of room here tonight.
See homes of course fair catch at the 42.
Well we asked coach Leroy Mi, what has been special about this year's team and this run to the championship.
I tell you what, it's been a long journey and we started back in January with 147 kids coming out now, we're down to 70 72, Maybe.
Kids out and we've had a lot of adversity.
A lot of injuries have hit this team and they've almost come a lot of this stuff together through thick and thin, and they've come together, the family and the chief each other, and they really like each other as a group.
So, it's a fun good coach.
3312 in one.
You saw the numbers right there.
Coach Roz has done an excellent job for playoff appearances, in four years coaching at Clark Central as the head man.
Marquez Williams on that last play right there.
I see coach Wiles.
Of course, as I mentioned, LSU assistant under Nick, Saban 2008 coached in the north south Georgia, All-Star game also coaching the Georgia, Florida game, all the Florida side and the past so it's had a lot of success and it's had a winning season in each of his first.
Four Seasons at Clark Central, very impressive Coach.
And he's off to a very rich start and a tradition Rich Clark Central football program And the tradition, of course, returning this year.
So second down and nine after a gain of 11 trips to the near side of the stack of up, aren't they?
Maddux out of shotgun.
And if you do keep it on the ground Watson, big hole across Midfield in right at the first down marker and I believe he's going to have enough for a first down, Isaiah Johnson.
The free safety came up to make the stop, not for heat of 10 for Watson.
Take a look at the run up inside.
My Watson for the biggest gain of the day for the Gladiators office.
And you know that offensive line is, we talked about, DJ, not very big 182, 183 pounds and then you got Chester and Posey, well, over 300.
So, so big in certain areas, not big all the way across, but they more than make up for it right there with those big taxes, right?
See Pig Posey.
There's 66 325 not big at all, or are they?
First and Ten from the Sandy Creek, 47.
Man in Motion Maddox will keep it.
He's got a little bit of room squeezes through there and going to turn a what look like a short gain into a gain of about eight or nine yards, nice execution on that play by Maddux course faking the counter and keeping the ball up inside for a nice game.
Maddox is really the leading rusher on this team additional thrown for over 1,600 yards this year as a passer.
He's literally picked the team up on his back this year and and carried him up for the For the season until Watson started to crank it up a little bit and take a little bit of the Russia load off.
Second down and short second and two after a gain of 85 addicts on first down.
Sandy Creek stack of the box right here, and it looks like it will be a first down.
That was Marcus Williams number 27, the ball carrier, and he'll carry the ball.
A few times here tonight.
Watson gets the bulk of the work with Maddox hands it off, but you will see Williams number 27, get a few tote as well.
Very impressive.
Push up front led by Center trait, Thomas left guard.
Maurice Chester.
And left office of tackle Terrace.
Bradshaw Bradshaw is a good-looking athlete.
6-foot 233 pounds seniors.
We take a look at that last one there inside good push off the ball for a first down.
Five minutes left here before the half Sandy Creek.
Leading it 7 nothing.
But once again the Gladiators in Patriot territory moving the football and this time managed to throw has a man that won nearly knocked away for a great job right here.
Dimitri via Sandy Creek there by number three.
Shawn Roe had a chance to pick that ball off great coverage by Sean robe.
Great ball skills, of course, right there could have very easily intercepted.
This pass play action.
Fake inside Maddox is going to try to hit his receiver, will curl back under, but a great break on the ball.
Great break absolutely row a first year starter for Sandy Creek with 18, tackles and two picks this year as a senior 59 180 pounds.
Um, it's Dukes on the other side of the field real well, Duke's, and Johnson, of course, get a lot of the attention along with bird.
The row is also made a name for herself this year in that Sandy Creek, Secondary, second and ten Watson on the ground wrapped up big number 95.
Gavin rocker who patrols the middle pretty well.
And keep that to a minimum gain.
Gavin rocker is having himself one, heck of a first half here.
He's been in on at least several tackles here.
Already here in the first half.
Santa Cricket Force.
The first of the five Fayette County Schools to reach the finals.
Of course won 13 games this year so far that ties a County record Stars.
Bill, back in 2001 13 so Sandy Creek.
More importantly, the first trying to win a state championship here tonight, but they've also got a little bit of County bragging rights on the line here as well.
Here's third down and eight Maddox.
Look at the throw.
The football gets rid of it has a man complete inside the 20.
And that's a big first down reception.
For number eight Tori, gartrell.
Barks, raildi sophomore, but he's behind some of those bigger upperclassmen, but get some playing time as provided some valuable players for Coach Rouse this year off.
Offensively boy.
That's a huge catch.
Great, Patience by Martin medic.
The quarterback of course buying time with his feet to give us a receivers an opportunity to find those holes in the defense.
Got Trail was able to settle down and find a hole in that zone.
We take nothing away from gartrell, but I don't think he was the first option on that play credit to Maddox for being able to look, The second option right here on the field.
So that keeps the drive alive here for Clark Central, Watson and motion.
And they'll hand it to him.
Trying to turn the corner right here.
But won't get there.
Great job.
And then a penalty marker comes flying in there.
Shawn Roe may have got a piece of that face mask.
Let's see what the call is.
That's the call against the Patriots.
Take another look at it.
Now, this is a great display of Team Speed by the Patriots.
Although There it is.
Yeah, there it is.
Right there Johnson, coming up to finish him off, but those red jerseys in person.
Now face mask, half the distance to the goal.
Repeat first down, you have to love the pursuit by the Sandy Creek Patriots.
That's a big one right there though.
The puts the ball inside the 10.
For the Gladiators again, Clark Central on the move.
Trying to tie this football game up here before the half.
This is a huge drive for Clark Central.
The still got plenty of time here, over three minutes to work with power back field of those big Wyman up there and this time pressure from the backside Maddox, Let's rub down behind the line.
Great Pursuit all the way across the field.
Sean row, number 3, and also number 21, there is well, Cedric bird had to run a mile to get there.
Take a look at the coming from the backside, Shawn Roe the corner, back on with a backside Blitz.
Finally, making the play on the big quarterback Road, never gave up on the play.
Well, I'll tell you what, had a chasing from the other Corner.
That's exactly what he did row showing, some good speed right here against Maddux as we mentioned arguably.
Best athlete on the field here.
Tonight were able to chase him down.
so, second down, And a few yards here again, the current Drive, nine plays, 49 yards, four and a half off the clock.
It started back at their own 42 Maddux out of the gun.
Little misdirection play Watson hit and stop going nowhere at the 15 and that would cover it up.
Nicely by Mike Hilton, the linebacker Jamal.
We're number 32 also in the area as well as third down.
Check a look at Mike Hilton here Stuntin on this play.
Great hit.
Stone him in the backfield right there, but a great call hit.
Hilton.
Excuse me, and we're on the stop.
Third, down here for the Gladiator, offense first semi-final since 1996 /.
Clark Central, the first quarterfinal appearance since 97, looks like we got a time out of the field with 146 left here, before the break up until this year parkcentral had not won a playoff game since 97.
So it's been 12 years of oil when they got back here.
They certainly poured it on.
If we're still feeding, maze, 3128 Ballgame right there.
And of course the big one against Southwest to cab.
Well, we had a chance to catch up with Coach chip Walker and we asked him, what's been special about this year's team in this run for this title game?
Well, this year's team up for us.
It's the first time that we've been past the second round in school history.
So that's a big moment for our school and our community.
This group is Ben, there's a lot of the places they were in the tenth grade.
So it's been a tight-knit group that played a lot of football for For us and it was just been a group that believes in themselves believes in what we're doing.
You know we played some pretty good football teams on the road to the Dome and so they've always just kind of believed in what they did and what we do and and going out and taking care of business Walker's team, just once beaten this year, that one loss in week.
1 against each cow, we do one point loss 2847.
The only team to score over 19 points on the Sandy Creek defense, all year long and that goes for the playoffs as well tonight.
Two of six on third down, for Clark Central, they've got a big one right here.
Maddox looking to throw throwing back of the end zone.
Throws it up, nearly, intercepted, by bird pass, was intended for number 25, Amir Williams.
It look like another 35, scuse me, that's Jeremy Hughes the junior wideout.
You can tell that aren't a Maddux.
Threw the ball up.
He wasn't open, but he was hoping that his receiver can make a play at American with a 30-yard field goal.
Try right here from the near.
Ash, we can 141 left here before the break.
Erikson's, first attempt was blocked.
There, you look at Erickson's numbers on the season, 7 of 16 by the long of 49, and we've got a Timeout on the field.
This one called by Clark Central.
It's very important for Clark structure to come away from this particular drive with some points.
They've had to opportunity, this is a second opportunity.
And realistically, we know what the back of the caliber of rajion Neal they need Put some points on the board to keep this thing under control parkcentral.
Only had 10 men on the field that's why they called the timeout right there.
Good more games coming up tomorrow Class, A starting things at 1:00 Savannah, Christian, at 14 and 0 taking on Wilcox County at 12 and 2 horse.
That won the class, a game at 1:00.
And then the first coming up after that, you've got the three a contest at 4:30 between to undefeateds in Gainesville and Peach County.
That ought to be a heck of a matchup right there.
And, of course, tomorrow night the, a nightcap, Camden County at 12 and to taking on the Northside Warner Robins egos of 13.
And one, that one's more night at 8:00 to 5:00 a matchup here inside the Georgia Dome.
A full weekend of high school football on tap live right here on GPB we hope you'll join us.
So, after the timeout again, Clark Central have one timeout left sandy creek.
With all three here is Erickson from 30 yards out and this kick is right through there.
So Erickson gets Park Central on the board with 1:38 left to play here in quarter number two and like you said, DJ Big momentum.
Swing in this ballgame, Sandy creep, at the opening drive, touchdown since then.
Clark Central is grab some of that momentum for our that kick though, they just weren't able to convert it at any points but here they do and it's a good thing to after of course, having the ball for so long and and getting in position to score, you get at least three points on the board here, right before the half big points there, indeed to Come Away with something.
Particularly after getting First field goal attempt block earlier in the Ballgame.
Well here's where Sandy Creek is Excel special teams they've gotten it done all year long at first.
Both these teams seems pretty content to kind of pooch kick the football here a little bit, but a force, rejean Neil had a 71 yard kickoff, return in round one against Loganville Lopez a force with a game-winning field goal against Tucker and round to some big returns, Isaiah Johnson.
As you see the scoring Drive, therefore quite Central, 12 plays 45, Words.
547, of course, the Erickson field will write here and maybe Clark set goals best defense is their officer tonight.
Keeping Sandy freaks offense off the field and that's a good thing because already Rashon Neal has almost 90 yards rushing Here is Neil, they'll kick it to him, and he'll have a chance that one around here.
Oh, loses the handle on the football still rolling around in the Gladiators.
Have it big turnover right here before the break with a minute and a half left.
That gets the Gladiator.
Faithful on their feet are covered by Jordan Pierce.
This time, he'll bury uncharacteristically loses the football.
As you see Pierce just came in here and strippers you said DJ Big play, Henry play again.
This is a very very talented football player.
A very heavy football player, he went for the ball, if I'm not mistaken, he made the recovery.
Yeah, he sure did on the tail end of the play, the ball kind of kick back to him there a little bit.
How about that of big first after that young men.
So all of a sudden the momentum in this game is changed drastically and Sparks it with a chance to possibly take the lead here, right before the half that got the ball, just outside the Sandy Creek, 20 double pass, throws it towards the end zone.
Had a man, there he was open, but unable to pull that one in the past from homes a little bit too low.
Right here.
You have to like the imagination of the play.
Calling from the Clark Central sideline going for the jugular right off the bat, the double pants.
Take a look here Maddux.
Fakes the counter gets the ball outside to homes.
Just didn't have enough air up under.
It'll be second down and 10 clock stops with 126 left.
Little bit of trickeration Right There by coach Raul's and that offensive staff.
It's a good problem to sign.
Look at in a lot of trips of top two sides.
Watch homes here in the slot.
Now he comes with motion your side, and I'll keep it on the ground.
Watson, trying to find some room in the middle.
There picks up about five or six yards.
Nice job Bruce Dukes came up from the secondary to make the tackle.
I'm very impressed with the execution in the bulb faking of the quarterback apart Central.
I mean, he's doing a great job.
These you can tell he's freezing the linebackers because they can't be as aggressive as they normally are because they don't know where the ball is.
Bak rolling under a minute, Sandy Creek has all three timeouts corsetry with just one Third and five double tight this time one back and Maddox.
Now looking to run the football has a little bit of room stays on his feet inside the 10 and down to the eighth.
Clock will stop momentarily while the market for the first down, but just 32 ticks on the clock, here's an opportunity to look at the broken-field running of Marte Medics pulls the ball down and that's when he's at his best folks, when he pulled the ball down and just on his own making things happen freelancer, you have it rocker, came back to the played defensively.
Rockers had a pretty good first half year for Sandy Creek along the front.
The clock rolling.
25 seconds left here, Maddux.
Now, out of the shotgun, they don't have a whole lot of time to work with.
Sandy Creek, defense trying to dig and make a big stop right here.
And if anything maybe force another field goal, Watson is hit him dup and drop and that will force the Gladiators to burn their final timeout.
They will do so with 10 seconds left Leonard Stokes, let that play.
That is the final Gladiator timeout.
So again, a big play coming up right here.
10 seconds left.
We'll see what Clark Central decides to do.
They know they've got a field goal try probably in their back pocket here mr. Clark Central team though, this one a lot of close games this year.
DJ seven games decided by a touchdown or less.
So they've been in some dogfights this year and certainly a 73 game like this is nothing new for this Park Central team when you was the third time out for called Central, that was a final timeout when you find a team that wins a lot of close games.
It tells me a couple of things but they're very well coached, they have a lot of discipline and they have a lot of fight in them because that's the only way that you're going to, you know, you win more than you lose.
Then when they're really close, you have to dig real deep down in that.
So yeah.
And you know what?
When you talk about Coach Riles, he's very he's a knockoff of Billy Henderson.
He runs these guys like you wouldn't believe Nat drills in the offseason and the spring these guys run stadium steps.
It's unbelievable.
The conditioning that they go through in the offseason.
Park Central first season, Back in 1970.
They've only had six losing seasons and 40 years and it looks like they will bring on Erickson right here for a 25-yard field goal attempt.
once again, from the year hash Sandy Creek Walk the first one that Erickson hit a 30-yard are just a couple of minutes ago and this one is right through there.
So about enough, time for a kickoff right here, seven seconds left on the clock here in quarter number two and Clark Central Pools, within one of Sandy Creek.
It's 76.
Now, Erickson, two of three on field goals for the night.
Big drive right through to get some points.
Of course.
All that set up by the fumble on the kickoff.
The word Pierce, of course, stripping rejean Neil.
There you look at coach Walker.
Say if you get a chance, come on now, we need a big return.
Are you seeing a very, very good football game here again, you know, the kicking game is so important in high school and not everybody has a kicker.
You know, I've been on down around my parts, Middle East, Alabama, West Central Georgia, you don't see a lot of good kickers in these kickers, can be the difference makers in these tight ball games.
Absolutely, we saw that throughout the postseason, you saw that last Drive Right There by Clark Central.
We're saracen handle, the a kickoffs right here.
Holmes has not had a lot of touches here tonight.
For Clark.
Central offensive Lee has had pretty much a touchdown about every game this year.
It seems like been relatively quiet here tonight.
Rejean deal once again, back deep for Sandy Creek.
parkcentral still been able to put together a couple of nice little drives here in the second quarter and Pull within one and Neil will have another opportunity from inside the five.
Let's see what he does with this when trying to get to the outside.
Good coverage by Clark Central and time.
For one more play with three seconds on the clock, Sandy Creek, 13, straight wins, 10 playoff, seasons, 3 region, titles.
Three guys, in the NFL where's Calvin Johnson, obviously, one of the guys there, Kendrick gholston.
One of the most recent NFL players that has come out of this program.
Isaiah Johnson, three safety, not related to Calvin Johnson but He's one guy with a lot of folks feel like could be the next one.
I mean, he is, certainly a guy that stands out, but we haven't talked a lot about him here, defensively tonight.
We're starting a lot of talent out of that small town.
Tyrone Georgia population about 7,000.
They say, it's only 03 stoplights, but you're not a lot of good football players to come out of that for some reason.
And the final play of the first half right here, Neal has some room up to the 40, and that'll do it.
And that's how the first half is well, coming up in marching bands, principal interviews.
And first half highlights brought to you by the Georgia EMC.
All that more coming up again, you're watching the 4A state championship game right here on GPB.
Let's go ahead.
Go downstairs to Giroud olivieri.
Santa by Gerald have a coach Locker.
You got your wish.
I'm talking to you at halftime you meeting right now, man.
Do that first drive in the beginning of the game.
But since then they've kind of field, you and check.
What do you think it's going to take to get going in the second half and we got to cut my garden.
Start executing, little bit off pensively.
You know, we did a good job on that first drive and executed pretty good and then I hadn't done quite as good, since then defense has played really hard and done a good job.
We got to keep them off the field.
A bit more.
I have a little more offense.
All right, well, good luck in the second half coach back up to you Dave.
All right.
Thank you.
Gerald, against 76, our score at halftime.
We'll take a timeout.
Be right back with halftime festivities from the Georgia Dome in Atlanta when we Turn 76, the halftime score here inside the Georgia Dome, sandy creek with a one-point lead on Clark Central.
As we turn our attention now, to halftime festivities, and on the field, is the Clark Central High School marching band.
The band director is dr. Robert Lawrence, 60-member, Strong, the performance title, Stevie Wonder's part-time, a tribute to A Soulful musician that inspired Michael Jackson to his greatness.
Let's listen in They're gonna look at the Clark Central, High School Marching Band.
Our very own Jared Oliveri is standing by on the sidelines with a special guest Gerald who do you have?
I have principal dr. Robbie hooker and he's here from Clark Central High School.
Now you've been here for two years.
What's that transition process been like for you.
So it's been a great transition.
I was a middle school principal and students that attend clock since were fed.
I meant fat into Clark Central from burning hair and so it's been a great Informing not talk about culture allows for a second in the tremendous job that he's done oh he's a great motivator, great disciplinarian and he's brought back the tradition to Clark Central High School that Billy Henderson lay their fourth and we're very proud of him and his coaching staff.
Now you mentioned legendary Hall of Fame coach Billy Henderson hunvald his he with the program I can tell you this year.
We did a dedication to coach Henderson September 11th.
It was so great.
We had over 300, former players to come back and to do a tribute to him.
It was an excellent true.
Being so I'm very proud of him.
And the foundation is laid at Clark Central.
Let's talk about academics for a second.
I understand you were recognized in Newsweek magazine.
Tell me about that.
Yes, we was right.
We were recognized this year, as a simple metal one of only 10 of Georgia, high schools to be recognized.
So I'm very proud of our staff and our parents and the community.
Also you talked a lot about the youth assembly and their trip of the DC.
Tell me more about that as well.
Youth assembly here in the state of Georgia.
They've done a great job, our condition communicating, I just That you delegate, you moron, first, second, and third place, we have several of them who were top candidates there as our chief test and send others.
So they did a great job and I'm very proud of our teacher mrs. Harriet Cooper for doing that working with.
Are you, I know you're very proud of this kids out there today.
What was the send-off like today to get the team out there?
Oh great send-off.
All fifteen hundred a hundred of us lined up in the front of our school and way to our players as they left, we're very proud.
It has brought the at this community together.
So we're very proud of what coach Roz And his staff has done so far.
Now I see you've been running around, just like me.
Have you got a chance to watch the game much very little.
But what I've seen, I'm very impressed.
I defense as far as a tremendous job, if we can just get it together, offensively.
Hopefully, we can pull this out tonight.
All right, well, good luck in the second half, I appreciate you spending time with us, back up to you, Dave, all right, thank you, Gerald.
Good job, right?
There will steps.
I'd be right back.
More halftime coming to get from the Georgia Dome.
You're watching the 2009, GHSA State football championships on GPB.
Back here at the Georgia Dome, 76 at the half, as we flipped sides now and take a look at the Sandy Creek, High School, Marching Patriots, the band directors, Brian Gunter, and John Kelly 72 members strong with their performance title.
Let's get crazy.
It's good.
Send it on down to the field and listen in We're going to look at the marching band right there from Sandy Creek.
Let's go ahead and go on down to the field.
Jared Oliveri standing by with another special, guest Gerald hoodie have this time.
Dave, I'm down here with principal Roy, a bolt, and we're here talking about Sandy Creek.
Now, we About Newsweek magazine, when we mentioned Clark Central, but you guys have also been honored as well.
Tell me about that.
Yeah, we've been a Georgia school of excellence and we've also been on the governor's on a roll with the Gold Award.
So we stress academics and Athletics and Sandy Creek.
Tell me more about the governor's, go to war.
What exactly is that?
That's based on test scores and how, well our students do on Statewide testing.
Now, you are excellent out here, you're in the state championship, but you also have other couple of steaks.
Champions back at home volleyball and track.
Tell me about those last year.
We were the girls volleyball, state champions two years ago for two consecutive years.
We were the boys state track Champions and our cheerleaders were state champions about five years ago.
So, we have a couple of state champions in our in our school.
What would it mean for the community and the school to actually bring home?
The championship will be tremendous.
This has been a tremendous thing for our community, the morale.
And the communities never experienced anything like this before, of course, state champion.
It's in the other sports are good, but you can see from the crowd, how football really turns out people.
I'm not sure how much you got a chance to watch the game.
You know what, have you seen out there today?
It looks good.
I mean, we knew Clark Central was going to be tough.
I think a lot of people didn't didn't build up Clark Central to be as good as they are.
And our kids are fighting hard.
Hopefully, we'll come back, run the ball, a little better and throw a couple passes and hold on, for this win, I will see that in the second half.
Thanks a lot for spending time with us, back up to your day.
Artie.
Thank you.
Gerald right here again, halftime festivities continue on and they've grown our DJ Jones back here with you.
DJ looking back in that first half, rejean Neal was getting crazy.
A couple of big runs here early on in these see Ronnie Bell, of course, get in the passing game working right there, Davis for the big gain, their off, the, a completion, and course.
All this leading to the first score, the ball game, rejean Neal with a big touchdown, a 31-yard run and of course, that's not good.
You got he has 113 yards already and this ball game.
But again, Clark Central stayed in the game, they stayed in the game.
Slow the game down a little bit, not a whole lot coming.
From running Bill their big Mount.
Cody up inside getting the sack and you know what, it's been a very competitive.
First half defense, of course playing into things here, you get a look at one of two of Erikson's field goals that were from 30 yards out and looked like it was going to be 73 at halftime.
But then, on the ensuing kickoff, rejean Neil going to be stripped of the football, by Jordan Pierce, who would also recover it as a see right here.
And of course, that would end up leading to the second Clark Central field goal of the half.
But not before big play right here in near Touchdown off the double pass Dimitri homes, though.
Just couldn't quite get in there.
And of course, that Force the 25 yard, it's in from Erickson as well.
76 is where we stand.
Well, now let's take a look at the Georgia.
EMC.
First half stats want to thank Georgia, EMC, for being part of a broadcast here tonight against 61 rushing yards for Clark, Central 110 though, for Sandy Creek passing yards 40.
It's even across the board.
Total yards 152 101 in favor of the Patriots.
That one turnover though.
Costly leading to those three Park Central points.
Right there.
Penalties to of 10 2013.
2013 respectively time of possession though.
Glaring in favor of the Gladiators right here.
And of course you see Neil Philip, Russia's, 113 yards.
But we'll go ahead steps.
I'd be right back and bring you back for the second half.
Kickoff, again, the for a title.
game Sanic creaking Clark Central when we return, Welcome back to the 2009.
GHSA State football championships live on GPB.
Let's go downstairs, Gerald, olivieri standing by with Coach Riles Gerald.
Thanks a lot.
Dave, I'm here with Coach Riles.
You were able to slow them down after that first drive.
What do you think is going to take to get going with offensively in the second half?
Well we got forgot about it blocking we right now we embark on black and red well up front and they're doing a good job of just beating us up front man.
And man they're very quick on defense and we got to try to throw the ball a little more to come on.
All right, what else do you think is going to?
You had to do on the defensive end to slow down?
New would you think how to get ready for play action?
Because going to happen, they're gonna throw a deep snow later on.
I defense and doing pretty good job right now but we got no one's coming.
So I think we told him good enough in the had half time and hopefully we can keep everything in front of us.
All right thanks a lot coach, good luck in the second half back up to you Dave.
All right, thank you Gerald and you know, DJ looking back at that first half sandy creek, with success, on that opening drive.
Since then, the going has been a little bit tough.
Suffer for that to Patriot offense.
Credit card, Central defensive with Adam the job, but they still found themselves trailing by one.
Absolutely.
But they had to make some adjustments because, again, that first drive then they came out with.
I would have thought that it would have been much more out of control than it really is, but you know what, they're right here in this ballgame.
Regardless only one point down was still a lot of football left to play.
Absolutely 24 minutes to be exact between these two teams.
As you see, of course, the Gladiators coming on the field right here for You freak last year.
11 and one of their low loss was in round two against Rome 1913 of course are expected by many to make it to the state championship game in 2008 but are back here in 2009 Clark Central Force last year nine and two first-round playoff loss to Sequoia 3413.
So both teams have really turned it around here made a deep into the playoffs and now here in this championship game, Sandy Creek will booted away to start the second half, Zach Lopez puts his foot into it and that's Derek Smalls back deep.
Just outside his own goal line takes it up across the 15 and a late penalty.
Marker comes flying in as well.
We're going to look at Larry Cook, our official here tonight and that's going to back the Gladiators up a little bit deeper to start this open and drive.
We're going to look at Marte Maddox had a solid, a first half their DJ.
See his numbers right there for of nine, forty yards, five rushes for 26.
As we mentioned, just a junior done, a great job came over from Cedar Shoals is really taking this team on his back, as you mentioned and as I've done a great job in leading the way this year for the Gladiators and Marte Maddox has had his best win when he pulls the Down and gets it out in his face and he makes people Miss very powerful kid, but he also is very quick.
The park says, what was started sign their own tend to open the second half, see the Patriots defense out of 43 right here and manage looking to fill the football, has a man complete that's homes across the 15 on the quick hitter to meet your homes, with a couple of catches there in that first half and look for Clark Center to get him more involved here in the second half to get that offense.
Kickstarter's, the music homes is a very explosive football player had a 92 yard kickoff, return in the semi-finals.
So we know that he can take it to Bill Monroe combining for that last stop right there will be second down and short coming up for Clark Central in homes with a School record season.
Receptions have 63 is a junior well over that this year in his senior season eight straight wins for this Clark Central team and watching this time on the Kari takes it straight ahead.
He's going to be awfully close to that first down marker and I believe with the spot he'll have it in my Kilt with another tackle, their Sensibly Sandy Creek had a good first half defensively.
Although, Clark Central picked up, the pace took advantage of course of that turnover on special teams.
To see big number 28 right there.
My Kilt, Leah, sophomore linebacker.
And, you know, you got a lot of upperclassmen DJ playing this game here tonight.
So, for a sophomore, like Hill to be able to step up and start certainly says a lot about his ability, indeed, and I know you have to pay attention to what Clark Central head coach has Leroy Mi said they flat out, just can't hit Nick couldn't block the defensive front of Sandy Creek in the first half but they got to make some adjustments.
Winds near side, last play was good enough for a first down.
So First and Ten driving out of the shout out of their own End Zone.
Here's Watson with some pretty good.
Yardage up to the 28th and is going to be about a yard shy of a first down of self and clinard.
Stokes 42 was able to drag them down, but not before a big game.
Tell you what, you know, the adjustment that had to be made, we're certainly made course, looking at that run their something happened because that defensive front didn't look as impressive as they did in the first half.
That offensive line of Clark Central did looking present.
They're gonna look at Maddox again defensively, the Patriots, cross the front 2005, 235 240, 205.
Certainly not oversized by any means, but they are quick and do a great job of getting the football.
Here's first in 10 and Maddox Under Pressure scrambles, out of Harm's Way, that one a little bit low right there and they're going to give them the catch.
That's Hughes on the reception, Jeremy Hughes who also had a grab in the first half there as well.
Again Maddox has some pretty good targets there when you look at Hughes and of course homes Also heard the five eight hundred fifty, Pounders.
Just a junior.
Also pretty good Target as well.
This time, he used number 35, got his hands on the ball and kept it off the turf.
That's a tremendous throw.
I tell you don't know how hard it is to roll to your left when you're right-handed quarterback.
But again he was able to get enough velocity on it and a kill us.
The receiver made an excellent catch.
Actually World Riles looking on right here is team driving out.
Remember this drive started inside their own Tim Already played a couple minutes here.
This third quarter.
First and Ten after the grab by Hughes.
This one, go into Watson, they keep it on the ground.
The alone back out of that formation.
Clinard Stokes was the first to get to the ball carrier.
My Kilt number 28, also in the area as well.
You know, we've been watching Stokes fly around all the first half and of course, these come started here in the second half and you know we talked about him during the priest free pregame and of how important he was on the defensive side of the ball for the Sandy Creek defense.
And you know, he's flies around and he, you know, very, very seldom out of position.
Absolutely.
Over 100 tackles this year's done, a great job defensively all year long for this Patriots defense.
Which as we mentioned, just allowed 11 points.
During the regular season, only one shutout though but Noah.
It over 19 years Watson, with some big room on the ground.
Here goes inside the Sandy Creek, 40 at the 30 90.
That's a big gain right there of about 18 yards, my Kilt.
And once again the linebacker with a stop at that time.
Watson had all kinds of turf in front, tell you what is a big hole that was opened up by Alex Harris?
And Trey, Thomas on that, right side to free Watson up for the nice game.
Now, Watson hasn't had a lot of running room here tonight, that's for sure, that Sandy Creek defense has been tough, but it was a big gain right there.
And it, as we mentioned, you know, his game has really come on for the latter part of the Season, particularly in the playoffs, he has certainly stepped it up.
The first content Clark Central on the move.
And here's Maddox looking deep down.
The field has a man there just beyond the grab of the intended, target Jeremy Hughes in the back of the end zone.
You know, Hughes was able to get behind Bruce Dukes, which is very unusual.
Dukes usually is always in great position but apparently, Speed was a factor there but you know, Dukes runs of 44.
That's why he's getting a lot of looks, you know, already as a junior, but that time used had a step on it.
Fast was just a little bit too long there and also, the fact about, obviously, they get great at Great play action by the quarterback.
He might have been peeking in the backfield, right?
Right.
So here's second down and 10 after the incompletion receivers left and right.
This time and Maddox will work out of the shotgun.
And Thomas is center six foot 180 to pound junior, fire it back there and quarterback draw all the way boy, bouncing out of trouble.
Finally stacked up there.
After a gain of about two, it looked like he was going to be brought down on the first hit.
Well, he sure is slippery, you know, what, not only is he elusive?
He's a big strong young man.
I mean, you know, it takes a lot.
He had a lot of people coming after him, but he was able to stay up breaks, some tackles and give a few extra yards.
Go trowels with your play here, offensive ly, this drive started back, inside the tent, for Clark Central, and now 814 left here in this third period.
But a big third and nine right here.
That's kind of been the problem.
All night, long DJ's, these carts a rise.
They've been able to move out of their own territory, just fine.
But once they get down around that Red Zone, they start to stall out a little bit.
But here is Maddox, third and nine, under pressure, and I will step up and run it.
He's got some room and he's got the first down inside the 25.
It all the way down to the 22 goes.
Marte Mattox Shawn Roe, the corner, finally brought him down, but a huge play on Third and long, a really tough, it's really tough.
When you can throw the way, he can throw the ball and also use the legs.
The way he can use them when there's nothing open.
Maddox as we talked about a great athlete hard to bring down very elusive, is DJ just mentioned and he showed a little bit more of it right there.
He's been known to break ankles.
I tell ya.
Take a look at Maddox, is number 6 of 12.
Now, 467 rushes and 42 yards.
Again, the leading rusher on the team as well for the Gladiators this year.
So, First and Ten just outside the 22 years.
Watson, you will take it to the 20 and pick up a couple of call the second down and seven upcoming.
Clark Central Force, last year, Allstate quarterback, John Wilson.
Dimitri Holmes was Allstate as a junior of course, back for his senior season.
So you got this quarterback here and Marte Maddox, of course, stepped into this role as a transfer, join the program earlier in the year.
And it's certainly hope to lead this team to this title game.
Also got some pretty good support from guys.
Like the Shah of Watson who is handle the bulk of the work tonight, offensive lie.
Here is second and six that's Williams and motion and they'll handle Watson trying to break free.
You'll have a couple yards over the right side.
Still going good.
Second effort right there before.
He's finally drug.
Down Spaulding was not going to let him out of his grasp and neither was over there on the far side.
Takes a lot of Will and determination for a running back to to continue to keep his balance after getting hit the first second.
And third time.
But you got to love that in Watson because he is a back does not going to go down with the after the first lick, he's going to continually try to fight for extra yardage.
You see him on the night, 65 yards on 19, carries a lot of trouble yards up inside that again, just a sophomore as well.
Another point to be made, here going to be around for a couple of years for Coach Rollins.
Here is another third down right here though.
Mattox patient fires has a man complete.
No incomplete juggled it over there and out of bounds is home.
Dimitri homes denied right here, and it looks like Erickson will come on and attempt.
His fourth field goal of the night.
this one right here would give Clark Central their first lead and once again it's from a from a far hash in a very harsh angle Put it down right at the 26.
So a 36-yard field goal attempt upcoming for an American who's two of three on the night.
Before I Gladiator lead, the kick is away and it is good.
5:45 to play the third quarter, 97 Park Central, you're watching the 2009, GHSA State football championships on GPB.
Erickson boots.
It away after connecting on his third field goal of the night.
The third, when giving Clark Central on 97 lead, this one booted into the end zone and rejean Neil unable to return.
It, he has been a little bit quiet, so far, but obviously, they haven't had the ball in the second half as Sandy Creek.
So we haven't heard his name since the first half there.
Well, all of the GHSA football championship games will are again.
Next week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 on GPB knowledge, that's a nice class.
4A action will air on Thursday, December 17th at 8 p.m. check, your local listings for the knowledge candle in your area or in metro Atlanta.
On Comcast channel, 246, High School football and the knowledge Channel.
New addition to the G PP family, here is Herb Evans makes the Stop for Clark Central.
Nice job there again, but a good pick up on first down by that Sandy Creek offense, who is finally on the field right here.
And, you know, DJ, we talked a little bit about it.
Going into the half, Howard, Clark, Central's.
Best best defense has been their offense here tonight and boy the aid of a lot of the clock in the third quarter with that last truck.
Absolutely down know that he's having a few issues here lately but you got a swarm of back like meal because he can take it the distance from anywhere on the football field.
Second and 5 right here, Ronnie bail under Center The wing t look right here.
Belle gonna swing it out.
Has a man beyond the outstretched arms of the intended target.
Alex Chisholm, we haven't talked a lot about Chisholm here tonight, as one of the excellent, two receivers on this Sandy Creek offense Chism.
Of course, say six 285 pound Junior for touchdowns this year.
Annabelle.
Just let him a little bit too much on that one.
Absolutely.
You talk about that Trio of receivers, in the Chisholm Davis and Hughes, Hughes has already committed to go to Buffalo and Davis, has committed to Louisville.
We gotta figure.
Chisholm might, uh, might be the next one to go next year as a senior right there.
I'll tell you what he figures into this office a lot.
Here's a big third and five though, Bell once again, to the are fires and someone may have got a hand on that one.
It's incomplete ball tipped at the line of scrimmage and Boyd big number 99 all.
Tevin, Wilhite, the senior.
So forth, down Sandy Creek, three and out on their opening drive here of this second half.
And we're already inside, five minutes of this third quarter, very impressive display on defense here by Clark Central.
Holding the fighting Patriots, 23 downs and out.
Zach Lopez will booted away, Dimitri home, stands at his own 40.
Homes has not been able to get a lot of return yardage here tonight.
In fact, he's Fair caught all of them, you'll fear catch this one under a heavy Rush.
He's able to get it out of there and fair catch at the 34.
We had a chance to talk with Coach Lee Road Rouse earlier in the week and asked him what he likes best about coaching, I like the feather you able Mentor, young men fact their lives and indirect way being analyzed every day, both on and off the field, some of these young men go through a lot and home have a lot of adversity and their lives.
So just to be there for them and teach them life lessons through football.
Is this what I really appreciate about the game Coach Rouse a class guy.
DJ you played this game for a very long time at all levels.
And it really is a game where coach has the opportunity in high school to really mold young men and change lives.
It takes a special guy to coach and I tell you, I was fortunate to have several very, very good coaching.
Back to action here at parkcentral with the football.
After forcing a three and out defensively big Wilhite.
You know, we haven't called his name a lot here tonight, but he is a another one of those big guys, 510 270 senior and now the offense back on the field, you see Watson?
Right there.
Grabbing the hand, me, their lipid off the field a little bit.
Get back to those coaches.
I, that I was fortunate enough to play for even at the Youth Level.
Tommy Drew down in Columbus, Georgia Wallace Davis.
My high school coach and then going on to play for the legendary Vince Dooley at the University of Georgia.
So I've had some The coaches and I know exactly what coach Roz are saying.
He enjoys it special profession takes a special kind of person to be successful at it indeed.
So Watson at a lot of after a gain of 2 on that last play second and 8 and here is the pitch to number 23, but not a lot of room right there.
Mike Hilton coming up, making the tackle on Devonte, Appleby the sophomore, in for Watson, on that last play, Hilton is basement, very impressive, place at night.
That's one of several.
Of course, reading this keys and beating the offense of lineman up inside to make the stop.
And remember Hilton.
Just a sophomore, you know, as we talked about a guy that is really come in here and caught the attention of this coaching staff throughout the season.
And he is been big here tonight.
We've got a lot of number 28 already, right?
So third and eight upcoming long.
Yardage situation.
Clark Center has been pretty good on third down thickly on that last Drive coming away with those three points, had a couple of third down conversions here.
They're trying to set up a little middle screen that one nearly intercepted Kaufman, big.
Jonathan Kaufman got a paw on it and boy that would have been disastrous for the Gladiators but it will force a fourth down in Kaufman doing a great job up front.
It's a good thing that they did get their hands on that ball because it looked like a lot of space at that ball would have been able to get into the hands of the receiver look like a lot of Running Room would have been their coffin.
511 to 35 senior knocking that one down.
So, Bruce dukes back deep for Sandy Creek and Adam Erickson to punt it away for Clark Central Gladiators running.
A man on Lake Duke stands back at his own 25, and this one will take a good Gladiator.
Roll inside the 15 and rolling down close to the 10.
It will go.
Wow, what a job.
They're doing a great job but we had a chance to talk with Coach chip Walker early in the week as well.
And asked him what he likes, best about coaching, just to see the young men grow and develop and mature over time, you know have success and fight through adversity.
Because you know, we kind of tell our guys, every Friday night, nothing is always going to go our way.
There's not going to be a game where we don't face a little bit of adversity and that's kind of the same way.
It's going to be in life.
There are always going to have a little adversity so hopefully we're And I'm a little bit for that.
And this, you know, grow it, let them grow and develop and mature.
And just seeing that out of those young men and the camaraderie with the coaching staff for myself and and the team, it's just, you know, a lot of fun.
Coach Walker from a good bloodline right there for rustad Rodney.
Want to State title in 84 false start.
Last play blown dead right there.
Rejean Neal back on the field for Sandy Creek.
They're going to look the first drive 80 yards and a touchdown, but since then, 75 yards, DJ is it throughout the rest of the ball game?
Well, that's that's called making adjustments.
I mean, when you talk about a clock signal defense to it and I'll pretty much shut it down.
Still just two points behind the right ear.
Still plenty of football left to play as well.
The whole another quarter, plus 3 minutes.
As Sandy Creek, open up the drive on the ground and about a yard or two shy of the original line of scrimmage.
They're going to look at Jordan Pierce who also has.
I just now noticed the little candy cane towel there as well hanging down.
So it's added some accessories to the, to the whole look back.
And tell you right now, we made fun of those socks and pregame, but I guarantee you everybody on that.
Feel has respect for him.
He's probably one of the few guys that can get away with that.
Second down and 12. now this time Bell looking to throw the football gets rid of it has a man deep wide open complete to Davis up with the for Fourth.
Wow I'm not sure how David's got that wide open the 5-11 175-pound.
Senior with a big grab and boy that gets the Patriots out of a hole.
Take a look at this Play.
What a tremendous arm, he didn't get.
Even get his body into throw, was able to get it out to the receiver Jarrett, Davis for wonderful completion and some excellent.
Yardage look like, he just got Smalls turned around a little bit there, he had a lot of separations Falls, had to come back over and get him and I think he just got him turned around.
Well, that's a big catch right there by Davis.
Three receptions, 72 yards tonight for the senior And now the Patriots on the move at their 46 2 minutes left here, third period, This Time Neil on the carry trying to turn the corner bricks off of one Sackler just across the Midfield, stripe, and into Gladiator territory, after a gain of five yards, that's a good-looking running back with a lot of speed there.
Able to break, tackles able to run inside able to run out.
That make people miss, catch the ball out of the backfield total package Smalls and Simmons combining for the hit.
Their you look at Neil's numbers, 14, Russia's now 123 yards and a touchdown first.
A lot of that coming on that opening drive, it's starting to pick up the pace right here.
I think the only thing that we hadn't been able to see tonight is to see if you could block and I'm sure that he can.
Yeah, he's a do-it-all.
Kind of guy.
Yeah, would surprise me at all.
There's a second down and five and I'm going to be blown dead.
Larry.
Cook our head man here tonight.
Look like we had some movement.
Prior to the snap false, start 5-yard, penalty, repeat second down.
So a couple of penalties here on this drive for Sandy Creek, first one wrist, backed him up inside the 10.
They were able to break out of that hole.
Now this second and manageable situation becomes second and long right here.
Clark Central Cheerleaders in the house tonight.
Firing up the visiting bleachers here.
We've got cameras on both sides.
Covered, all the action for you.
instead of second and five at second and ten after the five yard penalty, This time Neil trying to cut, he's got some room watch out rejean, Neal, 35 30, and finally shoved out of bounds inside the 25.
Gain of about 30 yards on the play.
The Patriots are in business.
Take a look at this impressive run and it display of speed.
Not many can change gears like that and make it to the corner.
As Neil has last week, he rushed for 159 yards against Thomas, County Central, and the 31-17 victory at three touchdowns and tonight, he's well on his way to exceeding.
That number 31, officially on the carry for Neil.
Inside a minute here in this third quarter, Sandy Creek down to is you see the current drive, five Place, 67 yards and deal still not down yet as he's knocked down back at the 30.
And that's a loss of about six or seven yards.
Devonte Derek cot was one of the guys who tripped him up.
Derek caught with a big first half, you know, when you got that for 4-speed, like Neil does you better hope you've got a bunch of shirts around him to be able to kind of him in a little bit?
Not only, is he full four straight ahead?
This guy can he can change direction.
See Terence Bradshaw all the Georgia Dome Turf here at the 25.
It kind of went down late on the play here.
You know, Dave, one thing about football is that it's one thing to be fast but it's another thing to be fast and quick and agile.
Absolutely.
Probably a few of them here, you know, they've turned out their share of professional football players as well.
Seven NFL players believe 14 region titles of program steeped in Tradition.
Finally, back here in the State title game.
Here's a pass, that one intercepted picked off at the 25, by Ty Simmons, the safety stepped up in front of that, one for his fourth interception of the year, the five 1167 pound Junior with a huge play.
It takes a special kind of person to perfect intercepting passes.
As you see in a several of them dropped already, but tie Sims knows him.
As it knows exactly what to do.
When it's thrown his direction of the pass was intended.
For Chisholm that ball action, little bit behind them is a tough pick to make right there.
It's kind of behind his back shoulder for tackles interceptions tonight for Ty Simmons.
The junior.
That's a huge voice.
Sandy Creek, was looking at a possible lead here trailing by two, but now the ball goes over to Clark Central.
12 seconds left here in Period number three.
Dave Garner DJ Jones with the Giroud olivieri on the sidelines tonight, along with the rest of the GPB crew, and we've got flags down.
This might be a delay of game on the Gladiators came out of the secondary, the Laker game.
Repeat first down.
Two impressive schools here tonight.
Athletically and academically, as we heard from Gerald, of course, at half time, talking with both principals, Sandy Creek.
Of course, a Governor's Gould School award.
We learn what that was about Bridge Park Central.
Also a school of excellence, and then these two schools, turn out.
Great student athletes, the epitome of the word student athletes.
That's what it's all about.
First and 15 after the five yard penalty.
Possibly the final play of the quarter, little throwback right here in and out of the hands of homes who couldn't quite glove.
It And he had Bruce Dukes tearing down Adam if he's able to make that crab.
But as it is, it will be second and 15.
Well, you certainly won't see Dimitri homes making drops like that too often because he is the school record holder as far as receptions in a single season, but 65 over 1,000 yards.
In nine touchdown.
Both teams, of course, playing Loganville this year as a common opponent.
Both teams with similar results.
First meeting of course all-time between these two and it comes here on December 11.
2009 inside the Georgia Dome for the for a state Title Here.
Second and 15 And again the give there is to Appleby the sophomore with his second carry of the night.
We saw him come in for Watson who limped off on that last series.
And that's it for the third quarter.
Again, the score 97 Park Central leads it over Sandy Creek, you're watching the 2009 GHSA State football championships live on GPB 97, Clark Central leads it.
Over Sandy Creek.
As we get set for the final 12 minutes here from inside the Georgia Dome.
Dave Garner, DJ Jones.
Gerald, olivieri with you along with the rest of the GPB prove Park Central with the football and a two-point lead to open the fourth quarter.
But facing a third and 11 Marte Maddox will Out of the shotgun with trips near side and Maddox.
Now, Under Pressure trying to get rid of it steps up and we'll go down at the 30 gain of only one back to the original line of scrimmage.
It'll be forced down.
Nice play by Jamal, we're taking Marte Medics to the ground there.
But you know what you mentioned in statistic earlier, in the game said, the all, the close games, Clark, Central head, proven that they really were really good against these these teams in these tight game.
They've, I think they was like, Seven games.
Yep.
Seven games decided by a touchdown or less so they know a thing or two about playing in these type of ball games right here.
Sandy Creek.
Meanwhile their very first title game for semi-final.
Of course, was last week against Griffin Griffin.
Of course, was number one, we have Patriots shocked at 22 to 15 and here is a punt return.
One of the few returnable punts here tonight.
Bruce Dukes is hemmed in and going, nowhere 11:05 here in the fourth quarter.
Sandy Creek.
Now with the football.
Just one of a couple possessions all together in this second.
Half Bell throwing down the field long.
He's got a man wide open at the 35.
That's Davis.
Trying to outrun The Defenders to the end zone and he will do so touchdown Patriots.
72 yards.
Second big grab of the second half.
Remember 88?
We senior receiver.
Jarrett Davis, where we know it was just gonna be a matter of time.
Running Bill already throwing for 1808.
Had 1,800 yards on the season, was able to find Davis down, the field was able to hit him, Davis made the move after you got the catch and outran, the defense to the end zone.
Four, receptions, 144 yards, 292, TouchDown for Jared Davis and boy, that's quite a night right there.
And it looks like it'll go for two.
Real Sandy Creek.
I formation.
And this time Bill rolling, right?
Looking firing in zone.
2 point conversion is good, the reception by Chism the six, 285 pound Junior, and that'll make it a 15-9 ball game.
Sandy Creek widens the margin with the two-point play, and with 10:52 left in the Ballgame, still plenty of time here, but boy, the momentum has turned.
It has indeed Davis.
A force making the grab had all kinds of room, that's the second time.
This half TJ where he's been wide open.
This time, he's able to take it to distance it, take a look at that toss their down to be letting you know.
I don't know if it was a busted coverage or Some no one.
Just lined up a bit.
Look like a guy was back there.
Obviously, he just went in the right in the right coverage, they'll just fire this one up on the run.
It run it over there late.
Yeah, look like he was wide open.
Davis able to outrace the defender.
Brian trail to the end zone, Dimitri, Holmes and Watson back, deep for Clark Central.
Zach, Lopez boots, it away, and this one will be returnable for Watson across the 10 is hit hard and dropped at the 13, boy.
Big time hit right there by Cedric, bird.
The senior on special teams, that's why I love this game collisions like that.
Well, I'll tell you what, Watson's fortunate to hang onto the football right there.
Yes, he is.
Take another.
Look at this pop.
Boom, ha ha ha the crowd and you just love it.
Well, Isaiah Johnson number 37, was also part of that as well.
And you know, this is you start deep, it's going down on special teams certainly it takes a special person to play this game.
It does got the Headhunters right here.
So First and Ten parkcentral now finds themselves trailing by six and here is watching, dropped immediately.
A loss of a few yards on the play.
Mike Hilton came shooting through there for that Patriots, defense made a big stop.
Now, Hilton is In about a half.
Dozen plays like this, man.
It's guys, he's on fire.
He's reading his keys is getting penetration.
It getting on the other side of the line of scrimmage and he's getting tackles for loss.
Big loss.
Right here, should be second and long total yards, Clark Central 182, Sandy freak up the 299.
First, semi-final since 1996, for Park Central, the first title game since 1992 Maddox Under Pressure firing at out of his own End Zone, has a man complete.
That's Jeremy Hughes who makes another grab.
He's had a few here tonight and that will set up a very manageable third down situation with second and 16.
So this third down a little bit more makeable right now, we're the Gladiators.
Longest winning streak in Clark Central, history was 29 games back in 85, and 86 the longest losing streak they've ever endured is just five games left back in 2000-2001.
So, that tells you the kind of program that Clark Central has been over the years even though they've struggled in the postseason.
Big towel, 4:00 Central here, third down, and about five yards to go.
Maddox looking good, a step-up, get a run for it and he'll have the first down up across the 25 to the 27 could see.
Run, right there.
Everyone covered up downfield.
Nice job by the Sandy Creek, second area that forced Maddox into the pocket, he was able to get the yardage he needed and take a look at Maddox as he rolls to his right wants to go down, filled with it, but tucks it under and gets the first down.
That keeps the chains moving rocker and Stokes combining for the hitters, you saw Stokes right.
There number 42, it is first down and ten.
First title, game for Sandy Creek.
We're still dropping back to 3A next year in 2010, so their last chance of a for a title.
Our Central looks to be staying, put in for a and here is the give and that is Watson.
Who's back in the Ballgame Rocker with the attacker rice beer, of course, Watson went out a few series ago but it's back on the field right here.
24 there you get a look at rocker up front who we call here a lot tonight.
We talked about rocker sometimes being overshadowed by Kaufman and Coleman the alluvial commit but of course we're who's played a great game here tonight by Rocker is certainly stepped up.
Really anchored that middle tonight.
Absolutely.
You look at rocker seven tackles here tonight, of course, sandy creek with region.
Champs out of region.
Five.
Clark Central, the to seat behind Apalachee to force went out round 3 against Griffin Rock Hill, of course.
Coming in third and Maddox.
May have gotten Stefan there.
Pull him out of his a sinner.
Either that or he got his heel caught tutor.
If one of the two looks like he may have gotten stepped on perhaps by his a center Thomas.
So now a big third down is coming, right?
Here is the clock rolls down near the 8-minute.
Mark coach Leroy Mi looking on intently to see what his office.
Could do a third down conversions tonight.
Five and thirteen for the Gladiators one of six, for the Patriots but they maintain a six-point lead here at 59.
Snap right there, almost off the mark and Maddux making some guys miss 36 and he's going to be shy of the first down marker.
It appears by a yard Bruce Dukes, came up and made the Stop.
And so now it's 4th and short, but you're at your own 36.
So let's see what happens.
I know he was short on that particular Run play.
But man, I tell you, look at the effort, look at the strength.
Breaking tackles two, three tackles area.
Fourth down and it looks like a gladiator.
Offense will stay on the field right here.
They don't want to give the ball back to Sandy Creek, with just seven minutes left in the game.
Watch for the threes play.
They do have twins left and right.
Maddox will sneak it forward and boy that's going to be closest.
Stack them up right at the line?
And we may have to bring the chains across for this one.
Well, that's going to be close.
Maddox thinks he's got the first down.
Referee.
Larry Cook is taking a real good.
Look at it here, though.
Sandy Creek thinks they've made a stop defensively and we are going to have to bring the chains across here.
It does look like A gutsy called by Leroy MI.
But you got to do what you got to do.
Yep.
Looks like you may be a little bit shocked.
And the Patriots defense has indeed made a stop on fourth down.
What a big play fourth down.
You know, I like to call those Sandy craved, obviously, pick it up.
The pace rejean Neal that offense, getting back going to passing games, come around, you know, Fun Park Central.
I don't want to give the football back either trailing in this football game, but now that defense has got to come up with a big stop right here, right?
Otherwise, Sandy Creek can just about deliver the knockout punch, especially 43 able to take time off the clock.
So here we go.
First in 10 and Bell would go to the air d. Fall down.
The field has a man there touchdown Guess who Jarrett Davis first play from scrimmage?
36 yards and a touchdown putting on a clinic now that was too easy.
Great pass.
Great, bro.
Great catch.
Excellent execution, run a bell.
Jared Davis.
Here's Zach Lopez to attempt, the p80, trying to make it a 22-9 ballgame and does so.
So a 658 left in the Ballgame Sandy Creek makes it a two possession game, Jared Davis with his second touchdown of the night.
8:38, the score here.
Well, I'll tell you what, Ronnie, Bell wasting no time and hooking up with his big play receiver.
One play is all they needed.
Stretch that lead out.
Now, the Gladiators have their backs against the wall, but they still have time here with almost seven minutes on the clock.
But I'll tell you what the Sandy Creek team is feeling at their first title game.
You never know how you're going to react to this environment.
Your first trip inside, the Georgia, Dome for that matter.
But 24 and two over the last two seasons.
I'm not sure if it would matter where they played well, they certainly came into this ball game with a chip on their shoulder.
Like, we've mentioned before, they had something to prove, they felt, they should have got to this game last year, but lost in the Simmons.
Now, with a very good chance of taking home a state championship back to Tyrone Georgia.
Zach Lopez will put it away again, a big win.
Last week, an emotional win over number one Griffin for Sandy Creek.
Meanwhile, Clark Central, of course, blanking Rockdale County a team, they lost to earlier in the year.
And over time, that was their only shutout of the Season.
Here is Dimitri homes.
Boil boy, possibly a touchdown saving, Tackle by the kicker.
And you gotta like a kicker little go down and make a special teams tackle.
That's right.
Well, Holmes is fired up to meet your wholeness.
Nearly took one of the house right there.
As it is, the Gladiators will start from their own 28 as Marty Maddox comes back onto the field behind his offensive line, incurred by Thomas the center Paris, of course, and Chester the guards Posey and Bradshaw or big posies 66 325 Junior.
Right now, these guys might be past blocking the rest of the game, because the Gladiators need a fairly quick strike right here.
They're still got seven minutes to work with.
They can stay in their offense but they've got to move the football efficiently.
Oh bad snap right here and Maddox going to pick that one up and go out back with a 15 where number 32 was all over that play, making sure that Mannix wasn't able to make anything happen.
Well when you're a defensive back, this is the kind of game you love to play income.
How you could just you know you can hear you.
Pull your ears back, you can just play, I mean obviously we don't have to stay the whole lot about Isaiah Johnson, the outstanding defensive back for the Patriots, but you know what I'm looking for him to come up with the pick because the Gladiators are in a must-pass situations where we had a 95-yard touchdown return last week at 200 sections against drifted in the semi-finals did Isaiah Johnson.
Smalls for Clark Central had an interception return of his own defensively, but right now, it's the Gladiator offense, trying to get something working.
Here's Watson with some tough.
Yardage up to the 20, But still, well, shy of the original line of scrimmage Bernard.
Stokes one of the guys there, we've called Stokes name a lot.
We've seen number 42.
It seems like it on, just about every tackle.
Two big touchdowns here in the fourth quarter Vale to Davis on a 72 yarder and you just saw the second touchdown pass.
14 tackles tonight for Stokes Here is third and 18.
Pressure gets rid of it short passing complete.
Trying to feed it back inside there.
Hudson.
It look like out of the backfield.
But incomplete.
So fourth down and just 5:13 left in the Ballgame.
For that 18 right here for Coach Leroy mi in the Park Central Gladiators just twice beaten all the year and a timeout going to be called right here with 513 will step aside as well.
You're watching the 2009, GHSA for a state football championship on GPB.
5:13 left of the Ballgame after a timeout Park, Central going for it on 4th and 18 from inside their own 20, long pass down the field in and out of the hands and that would have been a first down.
If Braxton Hudson, is able to glove that one, but it falls in.
Completed the ball will go over to Sandy Creek with 507 left in the contest.
Well, they have the plague, they just didn't execute Braxton could come up with the catch.
Braxton Hudson.
That's a tough one, right.
There is a now.
Sandy Creek is thinking ball control.
Wrap the football up, run a few minutes off the clock and just don't turn it over.
If you put a score together, right here, then go for it, but it's got to try to take care of it here in this situation, meatball Clark, Central Force needs a big stop defensively that get one right here.
Neil the shove down hard on the play loss of four yards second and 14 upcoming Chad.
Heck me number for one of the guys, there you go.
Look at Belle's numbers here tonight, 6214, 186 yards.
Lot of that.
Of course, to Davis, two touchdowns and just the one interception there for the junior.
So a great night for Ronnie Bell who first took over for the graduated Rio Johnson, who owns, most of all passing record to Sandy Creek, and what a job tonight, 40 yards at halftime.
186 yards, it's been all.
Yeah, it has been indeed Neil's.
Been somewhat quiet in the second half, but it's been the of passing attack that has been there for the fighting Patriots, this time, Neil, straight ahead.
And I got a feeling right here.
We'll see you a heavy dose of number 25.
Clark Central is up to the challenge though, back-to-back plays able to stop Neil.
It's going to be third down and 11 up coming here, but the clock is running now.
Inside four minutes, Sandy Creek.
Tinted 03 times only to lose him rounds.
One and two of the postseason.
But here they are at 13 and one in the title game.
Offensively defensively.
They've been superb throughout this postseason.
Bring 37 in round one against Logan filming.
Of course, the big win against Tucker and round to Lopez kick.
The game-winning field goal in that one.
Where's the big win over?
Thomas County Central.
Here's the old breaking into the open field touchdown.
Wow!
Big third, and 11.
Sandy Creek keeps the football on the ground and Neal right through the Middle.
Look like the same place for that first.
Touchdown, on back at the first quarter, 21 yards on the Run.
Once again, we'll take a look at meal ticket to that simple handoff up inside.
He has a crease And never touched.
Lopez will look to add the p80 right here.
And so 329 left in the ballgame at senior Creek.
Now I had 8:31 they've made it a 20 point ballgame And the Patriots may very well be on their way to their first ever state championship.
Watch The Blocking up front for just a great job in there Whitlock.
The 58 200-pound sophomore.
Nice little seal block there, the guard.
Adams, of course, it's 66 240 opening up the way there along with Nolan and Johnson across the front.
Of course, we haven't talked a lot about zenko.
You see the scoring drive there?
Three plays, 20 yards in a minute.
38 heels, of course, his second touchdown run of the night.
Simcoe 64, 245 senior tackle headed to Air Force.
Here's another one of those division, one commitments on the Sandy Creek roster.
Well, one thing, one thing is for sure, Tyrone Georgia won't be the same tonight.
If Sandy Creek, gets to take the state championship trophy back home, 7,000 is the population, probably about 3,000 of those of us who are here tonight, right here.
Yeah, the population is a lot lower tonight and Tyrone, that's for sure.
This one goes out of bounds.
So far, Accenture was some good field.
Position sandwich theory, of course, Tyrone is between noon and Peachtree City, we're spark Central in Athens formed out of Athens High that won two titles back in 55 at 69, kick out of take the ball.
Athens High of course, is open from 48 to 69 and then Forest Park Central High opened in 1970.
I've had a lot of seafood playoff tradition, three state titles and seventy seven, seventy nine and eighty five, all under the legendary coach, Billy Henderson.
We've all sandy creek with a little bit more youthful history.
Their first season back in 92, just 18 years, but this was by far their best season.
Here's Maddox throwing that one in and out of the hands of homes who had it?
Kathy Sandy Creek, 49, but couldn't hang on to.
It took a little bit of a hit, Isaiah Johnson right there here.
Rip it away.
Second, and tune.
This is the time of the ball game when you're a defensive back your deepest it back for Sandy Creek and you know, they have to throw the ball.
So you get to obviously you know you got to stay deep as the deepest but you get to anticipate in break on the ball and get it, you know, possibly get a freebie Maddox second and ten once again, firing down.
Field has a man complete this time, down the Patriot 35, that's Jeremy Hughes.
Has led the Park Central receiving Corps here tonight.
Picks up another.
Grab.
That's a big one into Patriot.
Territory, keeps it going and press it.
Throw by the quarterback Maddox right down into the heart of the Patriots defense.
He was 510 180 to pound.
Junior.
Good Target for Maddox.
First attend, Clark Central, on the booth here, with three minutes left in the ball game.
Paul at the Patriot 35 once again Maddox looking this one wide of homs homs has been very consistent in the postseason.
Had a have five receptions in round 14, 74 yards had a TD catch against Southwest of Cabbie was ranked number two at the time in round two and that was really the game that really grabbed attention around the state that this Park Central team was for real.
When they knocked off samples to cab 1917, and forcing around three homes with four catches for the Three yards Watson with 100 yards rushing in that game as well.
And of course, Rockdale County homes with a 92 yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
Maddox was 7 of 12 for 113 yards and two touchdowns and I'm going to swing it over to homes around here who makes the grab, and wrestles is way just inside the 30. it'll be third down and about for upcoming, Isaiah Johnson, the free safety.
One of the guys up to make the stop.
Now, Clark Central needing a quick score right here and then an onside kick.
I want to thank all our viewers for tuning in and force a lot of high school football over the next couple of nights.
We hope you'll join us for the live right here on GPB.
