We are now ready to go for the Girls Club championship view for coming out of region eight.
For the record of 29 and three, taking on the Trojans of Carrollton coming out of Region five with the record of 24 and seven.
Here's how they got here.
Brought to us by our friends at Georgia, EMC.
First Buford rolling over Heritage, beating Westover by 12, beating St Pius and a rematch of last year's championship game by four and outlasting Fayette County by 12.
To get to this point in time.
On the flip side, for Carrollton, they got here by beating Redan by 11.
Mt.
Zion by 25.
Americas Sumter They were down ten.
They came back to win by five.
And then Shawn Golden, a huge win against veterans to get to Macon.
And it was all one player as the time went down.
Again, people, it's not about style.
It's about getting the ball into the basket.
And that's exactly what North did.
She wheeled her team to a position to get themselves here to the championship, and that's what it's about getting here, John, with a chance to win it all.
Tremendous effort by Alisha North.
I am John.
This is Sean.
Thanks for accessing us.
However you are doing so, whether it's on GPB GPB talk of the GPB sports app.
Now let's talk about these two teams.
They're going to be on this floor.
And let's start with Carrollton, because, hey, we showed Alisha North in the semifinals.
It's going to be a balanced effort tonight for the Trojans.
And so Alisha North is going to be relied on again one more time.
She's the leader.
She's the fourth general up this team.
She is the engine that makes this car run.
Watch this team run through her, Jon.
Everything's going to they're going to allow her to take this team.
She's got they're going to have this team to take her to the championship.
So we'll see how good she plays against this pressure from Buford.
On the flip side, for the wolves of Buford, someone who's heading to the SCC and Camille Anderson.
Well, going to the NC State, going to the Wolfpack.
She comes in, she scores 33 points against Asia.
Durr, who's the number one player in the nation?
She's a scorer seasonally.
She's a heck of a player on and off the court.
I love the way she leads this team.
Be a great matchup for us to watch and our leader on the sidelines for this entire game is Sam Crenshaw.
Sam, what is the early word?
And I know it deals with a rather large number.
Got to tell you what, it is a number when you talk to the team Dartmouth coaching this big four team.
They've been in this situation many times before.
He says this team is built on a51 principle.
Those principles are rebounding.
Defense, communication, attitude and effort.
Play like champions and you'll be champions.
And that's what he's looking for for four quarters here tonight.
Thank you very much, Sam.
We will be relying on your eyes and ears as we have you from Carrollton, getting ready here for the quarter championship.
Now you have your starting lineup brought to us by our friends at Regions Bank.
It's time to expect more zero.
And she has definitely been a hero for Buford, Camille Anderson, Katie Biscuits, Corey Staples, Lane Crawford and Z.
Right.
Well, just go ahead and say Z, even though it is a higher on the flip side, for Carrollton, when the Trojans coming in, there's Jean Durden, the head coach, won in 2009, 2011 and 2012.
Six of the last seven years, Buford has been here in some form or fashion, playing for a championship or winning a championship 14 years at Dade County before his 12 years here at Buford.
And he has definitely built the program.
There's Carrollton, Sean, Thomaston, the head coach, the Lady Trojans starting lineup once again brought to us by our friends at Regions Bank.
There's the five that will be taking the floor for Carrollton, and it is malaria ransom number three.
Alysha North.
We talked about her in the open number five, Faith.
Swint She's going to be dishing out a lot of assists.
Jasmine Gamble number 25 and Emily Waters number 35 for Carrollton Keys to the game.
Rogers By our friends at TCU Technical College, just going to Georgia, learn more, earn more.
Sean for Buford Hey, it's about unfinished business they lost last year to Saint Pius.
John in the same building.
They want to get them put themselves back into position to win a state championship.
But you have to relax.
You can't put too much pressure on your team.
And the flip side for Carrollton, what do you see?
You've got to win a house.
The stakes, John, the infrastructure of all successful teams.
You've got to win the hustle stat and you have to limit your turnovers.
Every possession is important and as we talked about in the pre game or the post game, depending on your perspective there, Sean Thomaston, the head coach for Carrollton.
Sean is Carrollton born and bred, played football for Ben Scott the athletic director and head football coach storied football coach for a storied program Ben Scott saw in his alum, someone who could do some real work in Carrollton and he has certainly done that for the women's program here underway.
Camille Anderson receiving the tip this is the jump off the back of the rim, crashing on the boards.
Whistle inside.
It's gone the other way, as they call a whistle on the charm.
Hey, John, right off the tip.
You see it in the attack.
Move.
And that's one of the things we've got to look at how they attack on the offensive end.
No early words of wisdom from both Jean Durden and Sean Thompson.
Here's Coach Durden and yes, his wife, to pick out the tie.
As is customary for the champions, it's to the line.
Jean has been talking in him.
The we're going to see contrasting styles here.
Buford the smaller team, Carrollton, hoping to take their size advantage and work the inside.
Second pick from no good the rebound to Buford trying to work it to the inside.
They're going to pull stats.
But John size hasn't been a factor in his first few possessions on the offensive end because Buford has scored two second chance opportunities there and nothing 9 seconds in under eight just for the games.
He came from a championship game at Buford and Carrollton is what's going to be chasing after them all night long, defensively deflected out of bounds and it's going to stay with Carrollton as it went to the underside of the backboard.
They're going to give it to Buford off the touch.
Oh, look for the inside.
You know, if this is an issue, you got that right, John, because I don't see the best players touching the ball.
Nelsonville Inbound.
Walk the glass looked good.
Deflected as it went up Carrollton with another chance jumper from the outside winning No you threw tip drill Third chance now for Carrollton fast courts open but they don't take it and give it back out And it's faith slip malaria ransom in sweat playing catch 86 assists he puts up for the jumper misses the three people to come down with a little restart Good shot from outside again Clarkson has to attack the inside out actually get the ball inside to them.
Both players take advantage of their height and then you take a closer inside move that beautiful shot by Z right.
And he falls steps no work at the other way as they look one two and step down.
That's where the travel came from.
Get caught by the pistons nice bounce Pass off the diagonal for the team attack mode of ten ball.
We talked about eliminating those turnovers.
Well you can't take the press John get it in the middle and that's where you attack.
Great job in the Carrollton team.
First make all Carrollton Brian Waters with the chief of operations in the back half gone for his parents Neil Anderson out the back of the room no Buford second chance Katie Biscuits will bring it back out to Anderson Oh Staples in the drive off the elbow back to discus, thinking about driving on swing.
It kicks it back out to Z right now Anderson muscles that time by ransom couldn't get the basketball drive to the inside.
Nice bounce pass off the glass up in the middle trace Great job of being patient for the offense attack time they saw seen John they attack the middle great finish down low crosscourt pass and working for Carrollton blocked by Anderson coming back the other way passes too far and picked up by slick so it ends up as a wash double team in the corner it clears it.
What does it mean one more time off the glass?
Matt Swink With a great job of giving Buford some of their own medicine.
John Get into the penetrate in the paint.
Nice dish off nice finish down low for waters.
Now this has all followed Hilton's points so far 515 for the first Hilton leading for 3 minutes Patty championship here an open coliseum Staples looking to go inside and it looks like a reach.
And I'm going to discuss what John was talking about, getting into the paint and inside.
Great move by Waters.
Great finish and Waters listed at six two.
The tallest player on the floor right now for Buford five nine.
Obviously, Sam Thomas to the Trojans looking to take advantage and continue to do so.
What is hot again?
And John, she's playing with a lot of energy, a lot of focus and a bit of a lead with Anderson in front of the building blocks.
And also Drew's 14 use dish to the inside.
Come to the round they're on the floor up and in nice follow Katie discus and they call a whistle and John that's the hustle stance we're talking about whenever there's a loose ball on the floor the first person down to get the ball is the one that has the advantage.
And 429 for the first the ladies quarter championship, really rough start for Buford down three to Carrollton in from the Macon Coliseum.
Oh she may be wearing the fourth in about 3 minutes.
Got to have a good ball movement.
Watch our turnover Fake cheesy playbook.
Summer is the time for who's real action.
Jones puts it up.
Angel looking to get some space finds it drills intensity.
Family memories.
Tickets and information available at Atlanta.
Dream Dot Net.
Welcome back.
Making coliseum making cineplex for 29 for the first six five.
Carrollton leading Buford early field goal percentage is Buford only one for three, Kelton three of eight.
But Emily Waters has been hot for Carrollton.
She has all of their points, which means she's attacking the rim.
When you got a chance to attack the rim, especially in a championship mode, you want to get those high percentage shots early.
And now that opens up your accompanist.
You shoot the stroke like she did for the 15th floor to be on the wings.
And you said Carrollton is three for eight.
They are also three of their last four from the fourth Rashawn Thomas to taking advantage of the height that we thought that they were discussing numbers on the year three days out.
What is the ball movement standard press 1 to 2 who's half court into the paint hands and they call a whistle that time Chandler Hall in his game and tries to introduce a little high for hall the junior number two 511 her first foul central inbound for Carrollton to the diagonal and having to go long and we'll do some aerial Daniel number 49 in the games for terrorism so you're seeing ransom and Swint playing catch insulation or working the perimeter you folks packed it in hands trying to get the ball away from the waters.
Waters finds the open player and the drive by north is no that's her own rebound hands deflect it no good miss the second opportunity Anderson down for Buford jumper walks off the back of the rim No good here comes Carrollton in transition zone.
There's a lot of action going on between both teams offensively and defensively who can execute, who can make those easy passes and easy shots, hands always down around the waist, trying to knock the ball away, knocked out of bounds.
It will stay with Carrington really Waters having a first couple of minutes so the staples back in force the blues back out could be so dangerous already substituting possession, possession, possession and possession long for the inbound the no time will Daniel getting quality minutes as a freshman there's the ball controlling the looking at drive Daniel the rim no good and Buford will come out with it but they lost the handle It's got to go back to Carrollton.
Yeah.
Those are the possessions.
Johnson dipped and walked back.
If you Buford because of transition break going and a chance to score on the fastbreak.
Coming up on 3 minutes to go first quarter Hilton leading to 465 girls quarter championship water's got stop gets the ball back hits the jumper and she's on fire.
I love it when you see moves jump without the ball and get to the open area and once she sees that nice soft spot she takes and she drains a nice 15th little and a fist pump coming back down the floor, you can tell, Suzanne, within eight five.
Carrolton up three.
Anderson Double team Stop, Pass jumper Good in the bucket.
Montgomery Staples Here's the third in press again.
Waters finds Daniel off the glass with two straight board movement.
So many people trying to beat the press, jumping up with the dribble.
But this Carrollton team is beating it with the pass, which makes it very, very effective.
Biscuits Staples Pass three hands.
Paul gets it back head fake blocked by waters in the inside again blocked by Roberson out of bounds We thought man stays back in play Jumper Buford misses everything goes back to Carrollton Waters is a one woman wrecking person I mean she's out there she's all over the place.
She's on the boards offensively.
She's scoring, she's rebound and she's blocking shots.
She's doing it on great save by Buford to keep the possession alive, but they couldn't capitalize on it.
WATERS Four of five from the four so far from the field with a rebound and two blocked.
We've got a 32nd on the play and we talked about someone who's in rhythm.
Let's talk about three five.
Take John inside.
Inside she's attack and she's attacking.
Now, what's the defense pays off for her?
She's got a confidence now.
She's got the outside shot.
And the thing is, John, she's not dominating the basketball.
She's moving.
And then now her company is on the defensive end.
John, Look at it.
Contesting shots, blocking shots.
She's active.
She's passionate.
She knows what it takes to win a championship today.
And she's going to do it all.
Male Carrollton under Sean Thomas going one and one in championship appearances.
The first one was against Laney and they lost here in Macon.
Then they came back to win the following year against Lakeview, Fort Oglethorpe.
So this is his third appearance in the last game of the year in Florida as the Buford Press doubling in the corners, Daniel Waters in rhythm, Miss Off the rim, rebound on the inside up.
And no, we're going to have a foul call as Alisha moore tried to put it back up again.
We talked about versus just press.
Just with great passing, Carrington is able to move the ball down the court and get it into the right position to the right person, even though Waters missed your shot, it was right.
It finished it with a chance for a free throw.
Lane Crawford again, producing.
And when Johnson had a couple of minutes, she'll go back to sitting down there.
Daniel in the big post presences in that film of importance to DeRozan this season second free throw up and in 100 seconds to go here first quarter Carrollton leading 11 seven from the corner off the rim though three different players converge they'll get another opportunity Cross-court pass intercept it Angelique barge off the glass tonight Great anticipation great anticipation to advance the ball after the steal John and is focused on making that layup Great job there by bar 13 seven Carrollton and intercepted again on the defensive side Neal Anderson but they're going to call her for the reach as she was trying to get the ball back after she lost it all six Buford turnovers so far none for Carrollton, which John we talked about in the Keys if you Buford you have to relax.
They've put so much pressure on themselves to get here.
Now they're here, John, and they're the ones with the careless turnovers.
Barge doubled in the corner waters free throw line.
Got it.
So that's a sore spot, John That's the sore spot.
Pass, pass, pass.
Get it to the middle and there's open jump shot there for once under a minute to go first quarter Carrollton an eight point advantage on Buford Emily Waters with ten of Carlton's 15 Crawford looking to pass finds Katie biscuits in the corner steps and so you can watch this Houston teams they're not relaxed there's so much pressure they put on themselves Unfinished business.
I understand the mindset, understand the concept.
When you get here to this championship game, you've got to be as relaxed and you have to play aggressive.
And right now they're not doing both.
They slant from the outside.
The barge 24 gets it back, waters the hot hands with barrels.
And so far in the first 8 minutes, double teamed in the paint after the inside Daniel barge jumper back of the rim no but the height and the inside gives Carrollton another chance north on the drive pass time.
They're going to call her for a clear out and then bring it back the other way and call Anderson for the foul correction.
That'll be her second nursing arm right there.
So it's Camille Anderson with two fouls for Buford in the early going.
And John, that's a blow.
You look at it right now, she's not playing 100% healthy right now.
I talked to the coach before the game, just concerned her health is probably at 75% in tonight's game.
But a knee injury against Fayette County played through it.
Waters missed the three and that will not count as the only missed for them.
What we seem to have in that first quarter first quarter here in Macon for the girls what a championship was.
All Carrollton, Emily Waters with ten of Carlton's 15.
They have an eight point advantage as we head to the second quarter championship in the balance here on the great GPB folks puts Butler for Mr. Martin Honda in Gainesville.

That's medium well.
What are you calling me?
A liar?
This thing is practically brown.
That's it.
You're not going to come to my house and tell me how to cook a hamburger?
You wouldn't do it.
They're crazy, so don't do it here.
Sportsmanship.
It's up to you.
Welcome back.
Making Coliseum Macon center clock, start of the second 8 minutes here as Carrollton has a 15 to 7 lead against Buford.
And did you know that there are tons of exciting science and technology developments going on right here in the state of Georgia?
The new show SciTech now gets the scoop on everything from start ups to Star Wars, plus stories with national interest to Wednesday nights at 730.
But the News of the Future first went in San Miguel right here on the great GPB.
And we talk about seems like the first 8 minutes and the second 8 minutes were brought to us by the number eight.
What did you see?
Well, if it wins that one 8 to 0, John, what I mean by winning, they're the one that's leading with the turnovers.
They have eight turnovers, took Carrington zero.
So it shows you the pressure they're trying to add to carrots and actually adding the pressure to themselves.
You've got to relax a little bit here in the second quarter and start making better decisions and they start making shots.
So the second quarter here goes quarter championship.
And at that amount of time you talk about turnovers, Johnny Zero and carrots, it comes out and they try to attack too early.
They've been doing a great job of moving the ball side side, making the defense move that way.
They tried to attack off the first pass, which resulted in a turnover, the first turnover of the game.
Carrollton, elbow jumper, staples back of the rim, no rebound on the floor, changed possession a couple of different times.
The call steps and taking the other great effort that time by Pamela Johnson goes the jumper by Staples off the back rim ball hits the floor and a lot of folks chasing after a hunger for championship John Hunger for championship.
There's waters at ten in the first errant pass They run back waters five of eight from the floor in the first quarter and ten of Carrington's 1537 and 18 Felton from the floor in the first half alone in three of ten, Staples thought about shooting past.
Instead bring it back out for the reset.
High pressure out on the perimeter by Carrington right now looks down something for 5 seconds so great defensive pressure there by Carrollton Just doing a great job extending the defense, getting out there, keep them the 5 seconds, the distance for the five second count.
But are teammates being in great position and playing great team defense?
John Gaskin calls it turning 10th turnover for Buford in a game we've only played 9 minutes and 15 seconds.
Was thought about the jumper guarded by Staples.
But pulled back, jumped the rim.
No, he's good.
Comes down with it.
Let's see what they can do in transition to Neal Anderson Jumper thought about for free Pulled it back then missed it missed everything penalty nice for the save and stepped out of bounds trying to save it so it stays in Buford John from a coach's mindset the first two possessions of the game here in the second quarter for Carrollton it's been three turnovers on the hook.
It's two.
Well, I say three because a bad shot is equivalent to a turnover that wasn't a good shot by ward as a shot.
Early possession.
We've got to go back, Move the ball, move the ball, move the ball and then attack once the defense is out of place.
Also, Bruce still team has the basketball off the glass and in great execution underneath out of bounds.
A lot of times people don't score from those but that was a great job from Buford getting on the boards up to nine points, 15 nine margin now six 6 minutes to go.
First half, Nelson wants to penetrate the defense pocket.
So we'll see shots from the outside like that.
One rimmed out, Daniel, with the rebound off the glass off the back rim waters what are they going to do here?
All the possession go back the other way with Buford?
Well, that's competing now, John.
They've come out with a sense of urgency here in the second quarter and they're competing.
They're in the defense glass.
Great shot from the outside trying to finish it down low there.
Everybody just fighting for that ball by 41st half minute baby Chandler, help for the long jumper rimmed out No loose with the rebound off the glass.
No good fighting on the inside.
Let's see what the call is here.
Looks like the ball is going to go on.
Fade switched on the jazz for the rebound that leader finds.
Now, like the movie that Buford has come out with a giant but they're doing their second forward to center screen taking the bigs away.
They're just not making that shot loose ball about the jumper.
Pull it back down.
Yeah Anderson has it back around the perimeter now he's open on the by the problem blocked by waters and his whole third block of the game And back comes Carrollton inside block.
Oh no retirement time Tony Nelson tried to go out with it whistle on the inside and the foul is on Chandler Hall inside that basketball John that's the ABCs of getting the ball inside.
Great block by Waters doing a fantastic job on the defensive end and he's doing it also John on the offensive end what she's doing now, John, she's being the leader.
She's she's a senior junior in high school, but she's been a leader.
She's taken that role.
And as she continues to play this way, she's going to be even better next year.
But right now she's the one that's putting this team on her back for a chance to win a championship.
Junior has called another 32nd time out.
Look, what do you think he's talking about right now?
Let's get the margin to six.
So we got to get back to get the ball inside, which now results in a foul on Buford, a chance to go to the free throw line be patient off his we don't see early to an attack early in the possession move the ball defensively we've got to eliminate their second chance opportunities secure the rebound box board and then let's run in transition the opportunities that Kevin Barnes instead of getting so far, Felton has missed the last six shots on the floor.
We can never second think about Nelson off the rim.
No, you could escape most of the rebounds.
Well, Anderson brings it up 5 minutes to go.
First half, Anderson picks to the corner jumper in the paint.
Peterson going to take that deep to the paint and force him to be able to force the hip brings up the three from the win lane Crawford with the three what's the lead in hand Carrollton working the perimeter because of that pack in its own slant Barnes Long jumper off the back of the rim.
No running inside.
Looks like the foul is going to be on Bruce in the reaching range from showing her athletic ability of getting up there and getting an offensive rebound.
Great movement back territory, John Maybe not the right shot they wanted at the time 429 to go first half Buford down early.
They cut the margin to three the three by lane Crawford makes it 1512 for 29 for the first half here in Macon.
Hey, she was looking too good not to go somewhere.
Said, Would you want to do today?

Welcome back Macon Coliseum Macon Soapbox Ball 29 for the first half for the girls court a championship for the doctor elsewhere in GHC basketball championships with Macon Madness and the great GPB Felton leading 15 to 12, Carrollton finished the first quarter with a70 run, but this statistic brought to you by the number seven as they've missed their last seven shots, well, they're going to hit free throws zone.
They've got to hit free throws.
They went to the charity stripe a couple of times here in a row.
They have not capitalized at the free throw line.
Once they hit free throws, now they can advance absolutely no answer with the three at the free.
Throw those in each of the six games, one one of them no good whistle on the inside and we call them who to the boundary clock when the free throw line up.
Well you can box out and you can initiate contact.
And that's exactly what she did.
She got into the lane A fundamentals was correct, but she didn't get her box out and not miss.
She kept the swap up that one more time.
And the tournament in southern Louisiana back up to five.
That's exactly that's another foul for the foul.
So it's two or three players that it could have been a four point play.
That's the pivot.
That's the first.
And it could have been the fourth place at point.
The other four players back off of the free throw.
So the foul off the foul with three out of four and back up to six and 18 1203.
It's all about driving up the lead the three before on recent shots off the bench something on crazy right plays he right there Great job of getting the ball inside and finishing it down low against waters not afraid of getting her shot blocked a lot of times good it's good to attack the shot blockers John and get them a foul to go by Crawford looking to the inside to high four waters and that comes Anderson for Buford looking to drive picks it back Bruce bounce to the corner to Crawford Nice to get around Anderson And so reset you have to go here first half Anderson on the kat goes baseline and hits the underside of the glass can also hit waters and goes out of bounds here John.
I'm looking at Anderson right now and she's not moving.
Well, I think that race mentally, she's thinking about that man.
She's not 100%.
And one of the things, the analogy, I would ask her to take the ball out of our hands initially and it went off screens late in the possession.
This goes early in the possession that they should go west and move and score more effective.
And you see that big play.
Someone like me was injured in the Fayette County game and there was a time that Craig Sturgeon thought that he wasn't going to have her for the remainder of the game as he tapped him on the shoulder when he wasn't looking.
She says, okay, I'm good to go.
And so she went back in.
They went back to the heart.
The mindset of a champion three pointer misses everything saved by Buford.
And they get another shot.
Anderson, another three rimmed out.
No worries.
Rebound.
Yes the Anderson limping back on defense big no shot zone They're concerned about as this game continues to go on in the second quarter.
Inside game one McCall steps go back the other way with Carrollton leading by four Ariel Daniel a 511 freshman.
Here's the look Ashley Josh she kept a pivot foot.
I'm looking at foot.
She didn't chop the loose woman, but she kept a pivot foot.
It looked like a walk.
And I don't understand the walk call by the official.
She's got to do it with the ball quicker so she can score.
Johnson looked at to and all of a sudden 218 and counting first half Carrollton is only up to now Langford fighting scratching call on the way back in three runs out one and done for Carrollton back comes Buford and let Johnson bounce pass biscuits in A to Z right No good rebound coming back out for Carrollton Long Apple pass They had numbers Waters with the fake off the rim No right through the touch lands to me so you look at Gene Darden he's saying it hit Carrollton last Sean Thomas and he's like now hit them last there's Gene wants to talk to the ref Carrollton gets it now get the inbound dangerously close to find the end down to ransom all the way back And so start it up an excellent excellent playing catch crossover releasing it You know it's a game all right now kill to him He just walked the perimeter.
Try and find the diagonal slant.
Puts the feet on the ground.
Yeah.
Now times times you want to pass and pass and pass.
When they see opens up, it's good to penetrate into the paint.
That was a great drive.
There by Smith.
Great drive to Match by Pamela Johnson, the sophomore 65 seconds for the first half Carrollton up by as many as eight.
WATTERS wasn't looking for the basketball gets it in the corner guarded by Staples.
Daniel from the free throw line back to the rim.
No.
Buford now has a chance to tie Pamela Johnson.
Driving goes on, Waterson blocked for you all.
Look at the Carrollton team now, John.
They're not playing to the strengths that put them in a position to have an eight point lead early in the first quarter and be successful here sometimes in the second.
They're trying to do things to quick.
They've got to slow down and take their time going into halftime.
They got to do something good.
Second half confident.
Sean Thomaston now takes a throw at 47 plus left here in the first half and Carrollton no turnovers the first quarter, four turnovers in the second quarter.
And here's the pedigree for the Trojans in Sean Thomaston remember Thomaston the graduate of Carrollton region five champs that come in on a ten game winning streak.
The third time appearance, losing to Laney, coming back the following year, beating Lakeview, Florida, will play So John Thomaston one and one coming into tonight when it comes to playing in the last game of the year.
Yeah he wants to get this second trophy before the case is so he can actually have some bragging rights there in Carrollton.
But when he talks to his teammates on, they have to calm down and get back to the basics, start the game in the second half, how they did on the drive.
And this is the ultimate possession.
They'll send it the other way.
Great defense at times like Carrollton in the paint.
Yeah just a great possession defense is key right now.
Look for a last second shot and it was one day Hilton from the floor two of their last 12 quarter started four times He's one of them last find out about the three to swim playing kicks on the far side down to 25 seconds First half three pointer off the top of the backboard missed everything.
Camille Anderson looks at the clock 20 seconds the cutter off the glass and gets all three staples 10 seconds first half north 40 by Anderson and I think that's her third three for Camille Anderson.
8 seconds to go here.
First half, and here's how Buford tied it.
Hey, in transition, John is feet whenever you can beat the defense down the court.
Yeah.
And good shot blocker transition is the way to get easy baskets, especially in the paint.
One and one first free throw was good and pulls everyone back for defense for the last 8 seconds.
Free throw long effort wasting it up the floor.
Pamela Johnson looking to drive.
She does get frozen high off the glass and that'll do it.
Buford was down eight at the end of the first 8 minutes.
Emily Waters had a tremendous first 8 minutes for Carrollton, but Buford clawed their way back 21 to 20, Carrollton only leading by the slimmest of margins.
As we head to the half, send it to Sam Crenshaw with Coach Thomaston, Sam here with Coach John Thompson, both in the first half, this basketball game.
What did you see you like and what concerns you What I what I don't like is that we let them off the hook.
I mean, we had them down.
We had them where we wanted them.
We had the momentum and this 5050 ball that we didn't pick up some missed box out assignments and we gave up a basket on a second chance.
Some things that we talked about at beginning of the ball that we could not let happen with a team like this.
You know, we got to play for four quarters and we got to play throughout the entire ballgame.
I just felt like, you know, we didn't give our maximum effort right there in that first half.
It's good to know that we can be up one without playing the way I want us to play.
But we got to figure out how to play a complete ball game.
We want to put this new team away.
Now comes the chess match.
You know what Gene Darden's going to probably do at halftime?
What are you going to work on coming up in the second half?
Well, number one, I shot selection.
We need to get the ball in the paint.
We had gotten into some foul trouble early and we didn't take advantage of that.
I mean, when you got him in the bonus, you got to figure out how to get to beat girls to the foul line.
We got two or three three pointer that we're ill advised and we're going to talk about our shot selection here at halftime, make sure we do things the right way, give ourselves a chance to win this game.
Thanks so much Coach comes to thank you, sir.
It's halftime.
Carrollton is up 2120.
Let's go to Mark Harmon.
All right, Sam Crenshaw, thanks very much.
I love how passionate these coaches have been today.
I know it's a lot of fun to see how much they put into their work and that they actually care about their program.
It really is.
All right.

We are live from the Macon Coliseum where tonight two teams have won state championships and two more will be crowned before the final buzzer.
But tonight, we're at the half of the ladies class for a state title game.
It's the Lady Wolves up before taking on the Lady Trojans of Carrollton.
It's all tied up 2020.
A fantastic matchup.
With that being said, Mark, it's time to see what's poppin in social media.
Great.
What's going on over there, girl?
We love being here, surrounded by all the excitement and the great game like this with the players and the fans in the stands, but we wouldn't really be on TV right now if it weren't for all of you viewers watching at home.
So we want to involve you in our conversation in more ways than one.
And that's how social media comes into the picture.
Should we be sports on Twitter?
We're on Facebook and we're on Instagram to bring you everything here from the Macon Center platform.
Right now, I'm going to share with you some things that some of our fans, some of you guys at home are saying we have to correct to Kyra Simpson.
Say malaria.
That's right.
Take the ball.
Sound number zero out of the game, number one.
And I talked about that earlier on.
We saw malaria say that herself in my package story that aired before the game.
So it looks like we've got a lot of Carrollton fans wanting to see that happen.
We also have coach Sean Thomaston, the head coach of Carrollton.
His cousin is watching tweets with the hashtag Lady Trojans and then somebody hoping for the Carrollton sweep tonight.
So those that's some of the chatter on Facebook and Twitter right now.
Let's let's get some more from you.
Come in and we'll share maybe in a post-game show.
MARTIN All right.
Great to see all those tweeters out there tweeting that up.
Let's check in now with our Georgia EMC scoreboard.
We got two in the back box already.
First game up today, the girls single-A public school championship.
And it was Taylor County winning it 6754 to win the 11th championship in school history.
And the single-A public boys championship went right down to the wire.
Calhoun County, two points better than Greenville in an old fashioned barnburner, 8482.
This one, Carrollton leads at 21, 20 at the half.
And coming up tonight, about 845, defending champion Jonesboro will take on the Carrollton Boys team.
And that one should tip right around 845.

He said he was pleased when his team didn't panic.
We're just having to continue to do the things that he likes to do.
Rebounding and defense, that's what got them back into this game.
Gave him the chance to have a lead at halftime, down by one.
Now let's see what they do as we start the second half.
Jack.
Thank you very much.
Sam, Be our eyes and ears for us on the sidelines as we move forward.
Let's take a look at what happened in the first half.
And I guess if you want to say it was a tale of two quarters is a tale of two quarters.
Yeah, not a perfect game.
Both teams shoot under 33% from the field.
Free throws and turnovers are the key.
Buford just not playing well offensively, protecting the basketball.
They got to do a better job here in the second half.
First quarter was all Carrolton and Emily Waters was hot.
Now this young girl does a great job, great hands movement without the basketball, but inside out.
That's the way that she likes to play in attack Mo In attack.
Well, outside shot here, 15 feet showing how she can score inside it out.
Great touch from the field.
The one thing I do love about a John, she plays on both the end of the floor and that's defense Everything starts with defense and she defends well and does a good job on the defensive end.
Offensively everything is stand out.
So right now, looking at the stats, the one that does stand out to me is again, turnovers, turnovers, Buford 11, Carrollton For whoever wins a turnover margin here in the second half, John is going to win the game.
Stats courtesy of our friends at West Georgia Technical College brought to us by Farm Bureau of Georgia, 17 of 54 from the field teams added them up in the first half and Sean Thomas to looking for his second time.
Buford winning in 2000, nine, ten and 11 six in the last seven you've been playing in the last game of the year, the Elite eight one from a passing lane.
Crawford Now a three point policy is driving by as an additional target in the second half.
I know that Anderson is on the bench and it could be her knee and it could be the foul situation, but she's got to keep that knee warmer.
She's going to come back.
You're going to be effective.
Three first half fouls for Camille Anderson, Staples off the glass.
And in.
But they were pacing on offense that time before and then was able to attack on the Portland in the top of what just not in the position to contest the same snap in the perimeter shot short pick on the inside for the two goes to Jasmine Gamble Yeah Gamble doing a great job in position so the shot was ticked off the ground offensive rebound and finishing the two one minute go on third quarter Both teams have traded buckets from leading 2322 Lane Crawford stumbles on the floor for three staples counter steps.
It's great hustle by both teams is a loose ball opportunities with both teams now to open the floor for the loose ball and we've seen that a lot and there are plenty of folks who are hitting the floor when the ball is in question.
Yes, yes, yes.
And when you play in the championship, it's not about pretty steep, pretty hostile points.
It's about getting the hustle.
No ransom and swing, one, three and five, playing catch along the perimeter.
Most of the time Waters pulls up short with the jumper, misses everything coming back the other ways Buford Can Staples catch up to it now and at the borders?
She's trying to do too much, John.
She's trying to do too much.
Settle down, move the ball.
The ball is your friend when it's move, not when it's one passed and it's in a shot.
That was being all official in the first half, calling her teammates, just folks, a view from a snooty Jackson.
So she's back in the game and going on the defense slant for example by hook long range lane is set the block the block screen, move the big screens in the down screen for the shooter.
Nice three and that's good ball movement those up, that's the type of action that leads to open shot and Sean Thomaston calls a quick throw after the jumper.
Yeah just this the screen down for the shooter this he's giving her that space before for a beautiful three.
Now there are no secrets with these two teams dating back almost two decades John Thomaston has gone to Jean Gardens camps for John that's coaching yeah and you look at coaches that some of the new coaches the air the 2000 they don't have existing relationships with old coaches and I think coaching is about fraternity It's there's not a lot about secrets it's about being together, being unified, working together, helping each other.
And these two guys.
Do you have a history Thomas didn't coach, actually.
His first gig was in Carlton's middle school before moving to the high school and then Jean Burgos at Dade County.
All the same level is subdivided and burdens.
Dade County folks got the best of Carrollton and Thomas, and there's an early coach shop nearby.
Do you think coming back the other way now the leap forward once again the early odd numbers walking the perimeter and a foul on the inside alum Chandler Hall that's her that's her third foul now so we have to keep an eye on foul and on Chandler Hall's foul trouble Z right looking to come back and Camille Anderson looking to come back home free throw up but no good ball from the dunk.
You've got to hit free throws.
You got a chance to go by six points.
And these two free throws here puts you in a great position, especially with Anderson being on the bench now for a little over 3 minutes.
Chandler Hall checks out soon and Johnson checks out second free throw up and in.
Anderson is back in and still run the ball up the floor Anderson looking discus that's near point he's thought about it spin move off the glass rimmed out No five bodies down there biscuits blocked by waters gets it on rebound missed again and Waters comes up with it Beast mode in effect the water is just doing a great job protecting that basket playing on both ends of the court.
We'll see bullet missed everything that Carrington came back up with it.
Give her a chance.
One more time.
Driving into the paint, Renaud looks like she touched it last.
What are they going to call heading the other way.
But you know what, John?
Now, that's not a bad shot.
The reason why it's not a bad shot.
You have so much energy with defending the basket or a defensive.
And sometimes it's good to reward yourself with a nice shot when it comes down to offense.
Mary Crosby jumping at and some only three officials two of the three them will convince them over that way that ball looks like it is heading out of bounds to Carrollton to Emily Waters after her start is now one for her last eight from the floor.
Here's Jean Durden talking to Marissa Bruce.
And with 445 to go in the third back and forth, Carrollton was up one.
Now they're back up to five as they fight for the quarter championship here on JGB last night.
We're just hanging around Martindale High School students and parents going to colleges expense.

Welcome back, Meghan.
Coliseum King Center place, 445 for the third Carrollton, leading 2722 and have you ever wondered why basketballs bounce and what animal can jump the highest for questions like these and many more don't miss why Wednesday's for a full night of science and nature shows to explore all of life's toughest mysteries.
Why Wednesday, starting at 730 only here in the great GPB Carrollton represent.
And I think that's what the kids say these days.
Right.
Represent represent you represent apostrophe in.
Is that how that is?
I believe so.
Okay.
Representing Carrollton in the house.
Buford in the house.
It is.
It is green and gold.
And it is black and gold right now.
Carrollton up five, four, three to go home.
Colors were trying to determine the girls quality champion in the third and 15 championships as soon as we can here on Georgia public broadcasting shot up no good back comes Buford Camille Anderson looking for a cross-court pass, decides to bring it up to the top himself and said, Dial it back out.
Driving off the glass for two.
Count it and it looks like the fouls on Jasmine Campbell on the block.
So chance for a three point play.
Camille Henderson just reeling her way, putting herself in a position, avoiding the chance.
Coming up with a three point play opportunity is taking her a bill to there John to NC State from a great player for the Wolfpack in the SCC the first place to win a championship here and seasons here you can see the game for Camille Anderson is perfect touch the penalty for two to the halfway point here in the third all the upcoming while this comes up now she's going to try to find somebody who's opening she goes but it's in a wrong color Jersey fiscus ends up with it gives it to Camille Anderson Anderson will bring it up past half court.
Now I'm malaria.
Nancy and see what zoomed in runs offensively Lane Crawford discus Anderson launches the three off the rim now inside Crawford low amongst all the top ten She gets the rebound puts it up and they're going to call a foul And Johnson here of course gets this great handsome going on the court which is good but I'm looking at Anderson and John.
She's not looking good.
I'm really concerned about her because she's limping.
And every movement, every action, just not 100%.
How long can she sustain Crazy off here with 3 minutes and 28 seconds in the third quarter with a four and tie, fourth quarter to go.
And I think if you ask her to be 11 minutes and 28 seconds of regulation plus any free hoops, if we get past that point Lane Crawford at the line on and she does snooty Johnson in her lane Crawford out of material two leaders going at 328 and ten Smith relation or LA Dame will make an appearance here in the third Branson gets to the corner Waters thought about it back outside Swint off the rim no more Buford bodies in the paint and Carrington Barnes and Buford actually has a chance to take the lead again off the back of the run.
The answer to see Ryan Gifford gets their second lead here in the third quarter with John Hughes has been patient all along.
Even though they got down early, they've been chipping away bit by bit, bit by bit.
Now they've got a one point lead here in the third set.
So one for Buford to get that point advantage as they get to two and a half to go in the third quarter them in the second and so far in the third after her hot start, she had ten in the first half inside the game, a double team off the glass and in you got to give back to your great player who's done the best inside the paint whether it's Waters or or Daniel getting the ball inside go to go straight with you which is your height and your sounds.
Before that shot was made by Daniel Hilton, it missed their last five jumper made good by Cary Staples and back comes Carrollton with it up 2928 north off the glass and the teammates back on Newbury in the last two possessions John they've been two points in the paint for Carrollton.
That's exactly where you need to go every time inside the basket.
STEENBURGEN is going to call a timeout to talk about this.
Carrollton scored four points in a row and Buford had the 2827 lead.
And here's the pedigree last ten seasons under Jean Durden, averaging 26 wins a year and they've won three of the last seven state titles, losing last year to Saint Pius in the championship game with four straight region titles.
They've won 8181 straight region contest.
We talked about Camille Anderson in the open signing with NC State and Jean Garden, once again, 14 years at Dade County.
Remember Ashley House?
So she went to the University of Georgia.
See, I mentioned the University of Georgia players, the University of Miami still struggling come Tuesday night.
Don't talk to them about my Bulldogs.
They let me downtown, they let me down.
I'm still struggling.
I'm still struggling.
Sean Thomaston coaching it up for Carroll to be down 1 to 2827.
They've scored four in a row to take the three point number, 2 minutes to go here in the fifth it's up.
You watch what he was saying there today and also the warriors be aggressive inside.
Be aggressive inside.
They've got attack.
They've got the size difference.
Not pressing you right now because you were beating the press very effectively.
They've got to defend here in the half court.
And then on the offensive end, John Carrington, get the ball inside and you can get the inside to Ariel.
Daniel, who at six feet tall, they call her big baby.
And her production, according to Sean Thompson, is vital for their success in this game.
And we've seen it here in the third quarter, walking the perimeter Stephen Johnson the biscuits for the three now waters with the rebound back comes swim score under 9 seconds Maurice off the glass warmed up missed it and see right comes down with it for Buford back quickly Student Johnson lookie there she does to Crawford back to Staples and Buford reaching Johnson trying to direct high traffic business lost slip momentarily just enough to get the basketball staples bounce pass him Johnson baseline drive and a whistle Hey John Coast Durden now resting Anderson with that knee giving her a chance to get her knee a little bit stronger give it a rest.
But they're on the offensive In same time, Buford is doing a good job of being patient.
They're not rushing the shot, John, you're looking for the right shot at the right time.
Lisa North, with her third foul, will sit Nancy Barge 24 in proportion.
Fiscus wanted to pass it into the park.
Was it the staples in said 40 seconds to go?
Third quarter staples looking to drive Stevie Johnson will kicks it back out Crawford for three off the rim No biscuits with the rebound you forgets another chance at 30 seconds Staples snooty jumper rim no and Carrollton comes out with it last 20 seconds in the third Swift with cross guarded by Johnson Let's see what they do barge in Swint coming up on 10 seconds and Wensley barge goes cross-court instead jumper rimmed out and that should do it.
You got 1/10 of a second as the ball goes out of bounds.
So we do something here.
It's probably just going to be a touch and shoot if there's even enough time for that 1/10 touch and that's the quarter.
Buford and Carrollton are now officially back and forth after three quarters, 24 minutes in the books.
Carrollton has a three point lead and they are 8 minutes away from getting Sean Thomaston his second title in three appearances.
The title Does it go to the Trojans or does it go to the Wolves?
We'll have the answers.
And they come back two for the fourth on the great GPB and the fourth in about three.
It's got to have a good ball movement.
Watch our turnover to make easy plays.

Welcome back.
Making policy.
Making cineplex.
The final eight moves to the side.
The boys Karate championship, the ultimate three.
And you're focused on zero.
Yeah, Camille Anderson's on just concerned about her height.
33 points versus Saint Pius number one player in the nation with Asia Durr 16 points versus county where she got hurt.
Three fouls three points here at third quarters in the state championship game.
I am concerned how effective can she be here in the fourth quarter?
Third quarter numbers, Buford three at ten from the field first and 14 for the game teams of practically identical.
Buford 12 of 40 from the court quarter even 30% Felton has taken one less shot there 12 of 39 time working the perimeter.
This is nothing new trying to find the holes in the Buford Zone.
Daniel Waters The hype from Carrollton that has worked for them this year, starting in the fourth quarter, it's Ainslie's Barge 20 banking all year, Ransom one and Faith Smith five because Alisha North one of the key players for and is sitting right now with £3 waters bloop pass inside Daniel Barnes Barnes driving on Anderson so bring it back out they'll reset and played a minute passes Good defense little John Derbyshire is the second man to man Carrington noticed that so he's got a ton of top off the drive early in possession.
Be patient with time up to make the defense make a mistake.
And that way you can get the shot that you want.
Excellent.
Going all the way in closely guarded by Lane Crawford.
And that's why you ain't seen a five second call because there wasn't any chance into the basketball jumper.
No good good shot defensively that time by Camille Anderson to box out to make sure the ball went out of bounds Yeah great box out there by Buford but they didn't need the shot by Daniel Ness a freshman mistake.
She was open, but not the shot they wanted, especially at the time.
The score being up by 391 seconds by the wayside before Carlton had that.
Do you see how we come up with almost 2 minutes going here in the fourth quarter and the score hasn't budged, Anderson being guarded by ransom jumper, partially blocked.
Daniel comes away with it and failed to bring it back down the floor with fake here for West Cairns and take their time again John not going to rush and they rushed in and they was and they've got the same result as a turnover Anderson thought about it.
Tries to drive past as Chandler looks like makes his call and you can see the frustration with Coach Thomaston and his team.
He wants them to be patient, but here we go with Anderson.
She didn't slow down that right now, Johnson says, okay, again, that's a major concern, finishing out this quarter in this game with 5 minutes and 43 to go timeout called and I think there's going to be a lot of thought here in the fourth quarter.
Sean Thomas then calls the time out.
So he's down two to June 3rd.
He's down to right now.
The biggest question to Sean Thompson's asking his team, John, is why, why, why the big shots?
Why the ill advised turnovers while we rush and we do have the league up by three?
Why relax, Stop trying to force the shot.
Let the defense make the mistake.
Don't make a mistake.
Just set a bad shot up to a turnover.
We'll see that tonight.
We'll see that Friday night.
We'll see that Saturday night.
A bad shot, John, is equivalent.
Ten of these two teams have made four of their last 24 shots from the floor.
You talked about parity and there's no reason why they slide to overtake Patty and Whitewater, Woodward Troop and Sandy for 25 and seven overall.
So the Trojans abuse it with the basketball downfield.
Anderson Running point restatements it to biscuits and stops and coming the other way.
That's great defense.
Great defense, great, great job of getting his body into position to absorb the contact that the charge.
But here's the key, John.
What his parents are going to do offensive is can they be smart enough to take the ball and control the tempo of the game size biscuit Second usage only Gifford's second stop there open has come up on 5 minutes to go.
Regulation and some waters Lisa North is now back in the game attention to that as we go swim lay on high guarded by lane Crawford more Nancy Waters about 40 staples This is great basketball town great basketball by Carlton.
Now they're playing smart.
You don't have to use the pads himself.
You don't need to take the ill advised three out laptop, take your time making the mistake at these low numbers to build can handle the basket.
And some one more three stroke, five double in the corner ransom and the open man slipping more by Lisa North creates a turnover and see but that's what you wanted John the defense did make a mistake They missed the weak side open just wasn't able to capitalize and make the right pass for the two points.
Now that's turnover.
Going back to you, sweetie.
Johnson in and you try to figure out some games electrical good the Anderson elbow jumper and no rebound up the halfway point the fourth quarter so long feels a little hang on to the basketball for this possession obviously starting the contest with the finger roll it doesn't in the same league so it's going to go back to Buford maybe 15 seconds off the clock, which is fun because he came out a trap on the ball net.
You got to do a move, attack, move, but you got to have the free outlet down the sideline, got to have a mills, you got to have the reverse.
And care had neither one of the three ends in the passing game out of bounds.
We claim a malaria ransom.
That time Stanley Johnson will inbound the 341 all the way back down high to Cory Staples.
Jamal Anderson I think you realize that Sidney Johnson is behind her.
Initially, we're handing off outside the three point on Anderson watch and three drills off to the right of Houston.
And Johnson's just now helping get shot and he's smart in to eliminate the jam back, open off of her and let her shoot the outside shot because it's challenging for her.
The power to lift hands in the passing lane one more time.
But it's up by Beasley Samuel Hall number two and for this possession he just missed the last seven shots from the floor.
Not much better Mr. Last five if we come up on 3 minutes Anderson brought it by ransom discuss Stevie Johnson and by swing in the drive fouled as he was putting up the shot on Swin and it's her third Let's take a look at Buford and how they were at the top of the ladder running through their reach and 2083 overall eight quarter.
North hallway county chastity your two three and four miss the other teams in the region eight zone What's up?
I want a full court press in here.
But.
Buford, they haven't used it since the first quarter.
We'll see the it's game.
The pressure of trying to create a turnover controlled the deep the tempo of the game with their defense mostly held by Johnson is good second hand is also great It's back down to a one point game.
Those are the first points that either team has scored in this quarter with those two free flowing waters elbow too much Smitty Johnson the rebound she's got to get out of traffic didn't have the numbers but takes it to Anderson for three reasons That's the whole thing he's going up things in a while something's going to stick.
She's been going and going at it and going and still pushing her strip right now with that knee.
But she's averaging steak with she stayed with it.
Great position Transition by Johnson finds the wing contested but Johnson stayed with it again we talked about you can shoot the ball you're going to shoot it in the head at least one or two times.
And she does a great job with this thing and confidence in the game.
Let's talk about what else is going on here on GPB.
This April, GPB will premiere American Experience Last days in Vietnam, this multi award nominated production, riveting, wrenching and leaves you wondering why did I not know more about this key point in American history?
Don't miss Experience on Stays in Vietnam.
Tuesday, April 28 on GPB.
You have a student body getting into it.
Jean Durkin did what Sean Thomaston did after knocking down the three earlier in the ballgame.
Call the time out he has two left.
He's up two with 236 to go regulation.
Sam Crenshaw, what's the word on the sidelines watching Coach Jean Dart and we talked with him before this game, I asked him, how would you compare this team to other teams he coached and he said this is the team that he would describe as the one that finds a way to get it done.
That's what it looks like they're doing.
They got 235 to go and see what they can do here.
And it's two and a half minutes to go back and forth game in the second half.
Backdoor cut by more lost control of it.
It goes over to Buford Dip and not repeat the run.
But from a touch and point of view, John Carrington, if I'm counting, I'm going extend my pressure and I'm going to make fireworks word, not 100%.
So I'm going to make her work with the basketball to wear her out with the team.
And she has the basket moment coming up on 315 to go regulation by ransom Rice driving the paint dish off the glass because it was good.
And you see the buckets the leads.
Now for 701 for Buford to take the four point lead under 2 minutes to go to decide the girls party championship North throws it up like she tried to do in the game winner against veterans They the whistle that time Well nice to get what you think Wilkinson's able to get to the end now because the free throw line is going to become a no contest.
Who can make the free throws and who missed the great drive?
Now she's got to capitalize and let's just run and call it on three Staples.
That's her first.
First free throw is good.
At least one of the very good back and forth.
Both teams are going to battle and forth throws and stops.
Watch the question here from Carrington.
Extend it, because now they will control the tempo once again.
I think Rosemary lead down to 15 for Johnson looking to bring it up almost an over and got it Buford gets it into the Carrollton offense and Creighton defense is going to come up on 90 seconds to go regulation Camille Anderson and you figure out where to drive.
She is trying to call something offensively.
Anderson threw it to her.
She wasn't looking big turnover with Jonathan Carroll to the might want to call a timeout you've got a young team controlled them.
I'm coach Sean I'm calling a timeout backing it out three point game one possession and we're down to the final minute of regulation Mario Daniel Waters inside triple team intercepted Katie Fiscus back in the hands of Camille Anderson and a timeout on the floor Jean Durden calls timeout it's a fall so we're at 49 and change with a two point lead.
Let's recap where we are to get to this point in time.
Taylor County adding to their pedigree winning by 13 over Turner County in the girls single-A public and then a last second bucket by Calhoun County gives them the two point win over.
Those are your public terms right here it's 49 and change to go regulation Buford with a two point lead and the basketball but they're down to their final time out each team with one left.
What's going on with you on this offense A defensive struggle right now.
You talking about a balance between both teams.
If you Carrollton you've got to get a steal.
You've got to create some havoc on the defensive end.
If you.
Buford just made some substitutions coming in you got to protect ball you have great football shooters on the court so that he can finish with free throws.
You've got to have people who can make big deals and and can protect the ball.
Carrollton has missed their last six on the floor and they are also, for this quarter going home at the wrong time.
Cody Staples, two inbound to Chandler Hall, introducing a little more height into the Buford lineup.
The ball handler gets to Katy Biscuit as gets guarded by Swint and has to get rid of it gives to Chandler Hall and a foul on the inside.
Looks like they're going to call Swint for the reads and that would be a fourth zone.
I know we got 35 six left in the game but I would have to would at that type of pressure early because this is nothing much the percent you've been playing in a comfort zone I'll make a pick out of their comfort zone and force the tempo and no and comes out with it.
Lance and down the floor.
Old biscuits they call a or Washington they call the good block on that.
I think they call it a block with the drive his the job his ransom trying to split the defense the nick on the elbow and see what he can do.
Hit the free throwing that's third on biscuits.
There's free throw.
Good.
So now he's called that 30.1 since this one for the time on the back giving him the rebound Buford may not challenging Camille Anderson in the back for ransom but you're going to make finally does and fouls it 21 and change Robinson's first foul that sends Anderson to the line after this one Carlton was in one of those rare opportunities of going for a Boys Girls sweep.
They get the defending champs and James going after this game is done One end no good battled for and Carrollton is coming out with it Time out Alshon Thomas then with eight to flap that's his last time out called with 18 seconds go in regulation down one with John down 1.18 seconds to go Carrollton you definitely want to take that You don't want to take the last shot.
Let's change that right now.
You don't want to take the last shot because you down.
You Want to attack as early as you can, get the best shot that you can get, right?
Second of all, of defense, you Buford, you want to have a sagging defense, sagging man to man.
You want to force the outside shot.
Don't let Carrollton play to their strength, which is inside.
So it's a cat and mouse going on right now.
Which one can prevail?
The inside play of Carrollton.
Well, it's second chance shot for the second defense, contesting this shot, eliminating the second chance scoring opportunities there.
Alton has been called from the floor in the third in the fourth quarter.
And as an employee, if you're looking at Emily Waters, who averages 12 points a game one for her last nine after starting out of the blocks for for her first five.
What does Carrollton do here North looking inside Swint double team kicks it back out We're down to 5 seconds What's Carrollton to do?
Drive off the glass?
No and block what what we call whistle with 6/10 of a second and the freshman to the line she drives I'm going to people talking about last second shot we get down that one you got to have an opportunity to go for the offensive rebound and that's exactly what happened before getting bounced out.
You got the freshman for a chance to win one championship, Miss the first, and Jean Durden spins his last time out at 6/10.
Yeah that's that great time out, John.
Does that make you think about it just a little bit more.
You got point six, the clock make or think about it.
Here's what happened.
Dribble drive by Swint high off the glass a bunch of bodies and they call the foul on Z right to send Ariel Daniel to the line is it just because she didn't make the first move down with a chance to make both and maybe win the game just make one he can still win the game.
You don't have to be the hero.
Just make one.
We're going to overtime.
They got a chance to win here.
Now, what do you want to bet Sean Thomas spins talk was with Ariel when Ariel the second free throw.
We have 6/10 of a second back up.
Don't foul back up.
Do not foul heat talk pump an incentive to the team.
It wants her to feel confident that she's going to make this trip look and see who's talking.
She's talking to a starting five face of a miss off the glass now and that doesn't get you six of the last seven years.
Team third quarter lead here.
Better won three in a row.
Oh 920 1020 11 And Buford gets the girls want a championship and Jordan is shaking his head.
He can't believe What just happened Jump.

That's a two decade relationship between these two coaches.

The call back came back.

It went back and forth, back and forth.
I mean, you can't have any nails left.
It was a nail biter.
It was definitely a nail biter.
First of all, Carrollton and Sean Thompson have great class.
I just congratulations to them both for being here also.
But this group has found a way to win and they did it tonight.
And I'm as proud of them as I can be.
Well, let's talk to Camille Anderson.
Where'd you go?
Tell me the numbers are coming Right this way.
You've got the trophy.
Strange how that works.
Talk a little about winning this one your senior year.
It have been not might not have been the prettiest thing, but you know what?
A win is A win.
And we were the best team on the floor that night.
And I just I'm just it's just a undescribable feeling.
You know, you're a very emotional right now, but you hit a couple of very big baskets there.
What is the Buford community meant to you?
Three or four years.
They're at school.
They've had the most support I've ever had in my community that I've ever been in.
And I really appreciate it now all four years, and I'm really going to miss it.
You're emotional.
It's understood.
Hoist that trophy high for all the folks up there wearing green and Buford.
