It's the girls five day state championship basketball game between the last of the Trojans and the Collins Hill Eagles.

Hello, everybody, and welcome to Championship Weekend.

We have covered nine games on Georgia public television.

One more to go.

Wow.

It's been a long weekend, but it's been a great week at a basketball here on TV last.

And Collins held a five day state championship for the play by play.

Here's Charles Ward and Teresa Adams.

Thanks, Jim.

In the 10th and final game, probably promises to be the best the Lady Trojans wrote of last year.

Our high school versus the Lady Eagles of Collins High.

Charles Ward and Teresa Edwards with the play Call and Teresa, two teams vying for their first state championship.

Let's start out by talking about the lady Trojans, the last two high.

It's probably going to be a little jitters, but they have a dominant inside game.

They had queen of the paint on that team.

And I think Brown and Roach are going to prove to prove that to us.

You take a look at their road to the championship, a big test in the semifinals against Valdosta.

They wanted 41 to 38.

So they certainly have a lot of momentum coming into the night's ballgame.

And a big reason that the lady Trojans are here tonight and taking a look at it right there on the floor, Kristi Brown, 15 points and 13 rebounds average on the season.

She's a force that's going to be to have to be contend with by the lady.

Christi is a senior that's still in the championship.

Going to get a lot of help.

Also from the point guard position from Kaitlyn Wells, she's had 15 points and four rebounds per ball game.

She's the general for that Lady Trojan basketball team.

As we turn the tables now, we talk about Collins Hill.

They are ranked number eight.

And let's take a look at their road to this final basketball game of the season.

Collin Hill has had a successful season.

They've been 61, 60, 66 and 44 against Sprayberry, 52 and 39 against Redan 3533 against Wheeler, and got here through Lowndes County.

And that was a sensational game.

They shot great basketball.

Take a look at a part of the reason that they made it.

Danny Kubik, 13 points Field goal percentage of 56% so she can fill the basket and they've got to keep an eye on her as well as this person.

April Brown 42% Field Goal Percentage shooting ten points per game average for her very good confident players there.

They're going to come out and they're going to exhibit great leadership.

They're going to play very hard basketball.

Tonight, two teams vying for their first state championship.

Take a look at the starting lineup for the lady Trojans of last year.

They'll go up, Cadillac up.

One of the guards, the other guard, as well as the size, highlight her bowling at the forward and roach at the other.

And the center is Christy Brown.

But that combination of Roach and Brown, that's a tough duo and it's a post offense by Lasseter that's really close to that.

You got a 43 point average to that team Lady Trojans of last year.

The high school getting set to be introduced here in the making center flex.

And we'll turn it over to the pronouncer for those interactions.

Let's go to Raleigh Durham.

Yeah, have your attention for the starting lineup.

First for the visiting Lasseter Trojans and forward a six foot senior number 50.

Katie Rose now at forward a five for the nine senior number 25.

I'm Amanda Slowly at center a six foot two senior number 21.

Kristi Brown, high Guard, a five foot eight jaw Number 13.

Kaitlyn will guard a five foot six sophomore.

Number 11 and less.

The first coach might have lacked the starting lineup for the Lady Trojans, but it becomes a halfcourt game.

It'll certainly favor the Lady Trojans this year.

Yes, it will.

They're going to prove it.

Take a look at Collins Hill and they're starting lineup.

It'll be Booker with one of the guards but yet still at the other.

She had a big semifinal ball game.

Let's talk about her Harris Brown at the forwards and cubic in the middle.

Take a look at the starting lineup Ollison at the piano once again.

Jamal Harris for a six foot senior number, 24 April Brown at center, six foot three, Junior number 45.

Danny Cuban at Gone five foot eight.

Sophomore number 23.

Stacy Booker at guard, a five foot eight senior and number 33, Lindsay World, 62, and Carlinville coach Angie Hembree.

It's the Lady Eagles versus the Lady Trojans.

Five championship final contest of this season.

GHC playoffs from Macomb Caps up and it's going to be controlled by the Lady Eagles in the back court.

Will Jeff still runs it down and gives it over to Booker as she comes in for the fourth quarter.

It's going to be interesting to see if they're going to start out with that outside game like they did in the series two outside today.

Oh Harris down inside they take to give it on the turn eclipses tie it up Boston momentarily but back to Booker now got to keep an eye on Corbin she sprained an ankle in the quarterfinal ballgame.

We'll see if that affects her in this contest on the move or just go down at the block, too.

But she lost it.

And it's clear by the lady Trojans.

Now we go with the big girls this year.

They got in the paint tonight for us.

Well, is left side She kicks it bowling now they the right side fabulous handle across the floor slowly back up top to go wells now Brown tied up at the top whistle on the play Katie Rhodes is really working on the inside and a low block to block she's following that ball foul is called on will jets go home 33 points or so lateral inbound it this is going to be a game both teams are going to have a lot of patience tonight in the head.

They're going to find a way to win this game.

Havelock right Whiteside with a pass bowling inside they go to Roach right back up top Havelock 15 at the seven and it stays there rebounds cleared Roach on the inside whistle down low That's been history for this team all season They're going to be on the offensive boards as well with that duo down low of roach and Brown.

If it becomes a halfcourt game.

We talked about it.

It's definitely going to favor the lady Trojans.

They're going to work hard, very, very hard.

All game long.

You can believe it.

Take a look at Rose's numbers on the season 13 points per ballgame.

She gets the first two of the contest from the line for her and J.D.

it's going to be a long night for Collins here.

Roach had 14 in the semifinal game against Charlotte after she missed on the second Radames clear by cutting Lady Eagles looking at the floor.

They're just now inside the paint, proving hard for the glass to lift on the shot that stops there by Brown.

He's trying to take it to him as soon as they take it to her left block.

Roach back up top only now.

Brown across the floor, a wide open bowl on the penetration shot and she missed but that's the backside of lay down and put back inside by 50 down his ground So you will be there.

That's the strength of their team early three nothing lead for Lassiter.

So the Lady Eagles coming back the other way with a chance to take the lead.

240 remains in this first quarter five championship up top handling at this Harris looking at right side at the block whistle on the play nice aggressively by Harris shot fell off but she drew the foul I think Harris is still in someone needs to step up here and that was a really smart move between three to the basket to try to draw some contact or to try to get that basket so that they could pick up the momentum there.

So look at her point production on the season of 7.5 and 40% field goal shooting.

I mean that will probably be following for the next several years and she's a world well round ball player too.

She can do a lot of things.

Well jets Cole kicks it right side to the glass for the banks but it was closed to Booker Great hustle great household Brown's court she was running the floor Booker was taking it to the basket trying to get make something happen as she usually does.

It's great to have the rebound near the basket.

Michael Brown coming out foul for the Lady Eagles.

She'll go to the line, Napier, Brown scored 18 points last game get 13 64% free throw shooter on the regular season She messes on the first round so the second she pulls us back even at eight apiece wells into the fourth court crossing right side bonus at the block instead of getting inside it stolen away this offensive work by Ashley Williams.

I'm back with Booker You see the time in the first period where 30 seconds up top Harris got a screen right side stops with the jump up and 50 up across But there's a rebound by Brown in the paint parts of the glass She left it on the slide at all Nice move She just couldn't finish quite good Golden roach clear the air on shot final shot perhaps to the lady Trojans early across the floor to well wells back the ball really well is going to take the three pointer fires and she miss rebound to Harris and it's an 1110 lead for the Lady Eagles after one we'll get set for the second period after this time out to the DHS.

Let's take a look at the cheerleaders from last night as we get set to start the second video.

Collins Hill with an 1110 lead over Lassiter, there's no surprise that they're all going to distribute the ball equally on that team tonight and no telling who's going to score what by the end of the game, but it's going to be equally distributed.

Nice giving last she miss but she's five coming up with something here regardless of the ball's going in the hole and they're getting to the free throw line or they're draining there they're making sure they get a bucket on this.

In the third on the replay, you see that?

Give it a great nice pass and I'll just go.

And the 10th grader Harris foul she'll go to the line as a great awareness to give that ball right back to three points one rebound thus far that she missed on the football.

She's having some problems from the free throw line early on here a timeout taken She's the lady Trojans she seems to last her 30 seconds.

WILLIAMS up top for the Lady Eagles outside to Harris Brooks handles up front for Harris Whiteside will just go from there just proving to be patient in there all something Graham has pulled it up top He got the basket on the jumper a nice free throw line on stop right there you called it right there wait a very patiently called it finally broke free and he is free for the jumper blasted all by one up top Wow Back to bowling Hillsboro with a jumper error ball back side Williams runs down the outside.

Ashley Williams with a ton of rebounds thus far.

In this first half, she's going to be all over the floor.

Lady Eagles can take the lead here with the basket woods up top lost to dribble out the block to the clinic to the last night Nice finish She's really focused tonight.

I'm liking her game tonight.

You staying focused and taking the ball as hard as she can to the basket.

And she's delivering.

No ill effects of a sprained ankle thus far.

Walking hard on the inside.

Lady Eagles by one that goes in there and then floor pulling away.

Well, just go.

There she comes.

One on one on Pablo.

Right side to the glass with the jumper.

Yes, I like that said you're not going to let me get it in.

I'll take the soft jumper, the woman on the woman down the floor, and we'll just go.

What does that do out of Booker?

Back into the lineup for the Lady Eagles.

They take the three point lead and look at the turnover situation.

Lassiter with ten, Lady Eagles with six.

That's not making a big difference at the moment, but it will in the end of the game if they don't clean that up.

Cadillac left side Cavaliers inside the paint a collapsing inside out of it Nice finish from a play as the world's largest on the basket to go to the line those just starting to feel good down there she's getting herself on her feet certain she's just putting her body on whomever and turn around and deliver in that shot.

The adjustment by the Lady Eagles as we look at the replay, Roach with two or three players on her, still got it to the ceiling.

A tough, hard work by Roach the senior going to the line I felt their leadership watching earlier in the series and she's just picking up where she left off tonight.

Ten points, six rebounds thus far.

Rose season out of the 13, she gets her 11 from the line.

The Lady Eagles made the adjustment on defense to collapse on the inside, giving the lady Trojans to jump shot.

And it worked pretty well there for a while.

But now they're the lady Trojans are starting to go back to the inside.

Yes they are in is spinning out that outside shooting would definitely bring you back out.

Now you got to focus on the inside game.

As coach Steve Allen goes to the line, he converts on the first two because really an emotional players he wants to win.

She's still a nurse and she's a great player that's given all year long, no question about it.
