John he said for touch down the road to the Dome is complete.
So get ready for some exciting.
High School football as the Lovejoy Wildcats take on the Norcross Blue Devils live on GPB next And then there was one as you got to look outside and we move inside the Georgia, Dome, where tonight, we frown, in the newly created, six a classification.
Will it be the Norcross Blue Devils trying to cap a perfect season over?
The guys from Clayton County.
The Lovejoy Wildcats, we say, happy holidays to you and yours dpp's live and exclusive coverage of the GS GHSA championships continued guilt, Arie, along with tree McDaniel and Trey.
I opened up my talked about the Norcross Blue Devils.
The question is, can they cap and undefeated season for the first time in their school history?
They got a lot on the plate here tonight.
Gil, they've never made it this far.
They're undefeated like you The last remaining undefeated team, the de facto number one, in the newly created, six a classification.
One of these teams tonight.
Kill is going to win their first ever state championship and we take a look at that.
Guy's Norcross, Blue Devils.
They got a good one and number six, and he makes it all go, whether it be from the Wildcat or whether it he drives in between tackles.
You're absolutely right yusei's a good and he might be the best one in the entire State.
Alvin Kamara, senior running back, being recruited by Alabama, Oregon, Alabama.
Uh, Georgia, Georgia Tech Tennessee.
If you play college football, you want this kid to play for you next season.
Over 2,000 yards.
He went over 2,000 yards against Colquitt.
Last season, right here, or last week against GPB coach.
Maloof says, he's not really concerned about the big-time recruitment right now.
He just wants to bring that first ever state championship back.
He's been the leader of this team, they're going to look to him on the defensive side of the ball.
Lorenzo card is probably one of the best defensive ends in the state.
He's just a junior.
He's getting looks from Georgia Tech, Tennessee, tons of other schools.
Look at his stats.
You're 32 tackles for loss.
He's a pass rush, extraordinary, but he's going to have to do a lot more than rush the passer tonight, because Travis custis is on the other side for Lovejoy.
And speaking of Travis Customs, he plays for they have for mention Lovejoy, Wildcats, a team that last year came, oh, so close.
But the Tucker Tigers took care of that Downing them 6:38 train McDaniels.
They move up into classifications and they want to finish what was left here on the Georgia, Dome last year.
And that was a sour taste in their mouth will kill.
We were able to call that game.
Against Tucker and we could kind of foresee that they could be a special team but no one thought that they'd make it to the state championship after jumping up two classifications.
But they've written their senior tailback up to this point and that's Travis custis that you and I just alluded to he's also over the 2,000-yard mark for the season.
He scored 35 touchdowns five of which we're in a 63 240 to win over North Cobb.
He's also hungry for that state championship Gillies.
One of those leaders that said they wanted to get back here after having that sour taste in his mouth against Tucker, on the other side of Boss.
The guy I call the stat stuff, ornate, Norwood.
We're very familiar with this guy.
Look at his stat line hundred and ten tackles.
He's also in addition to what you see on your screen blocked, nine kicks.
He's going to be a major part of that cat and mouse game tonight deal between the Norcross offense and the Lovejoy defense.
It's the seventh and final game of Championship weekend here on the great GPB.
And on paper, it shapes up to be a Donnybrook extraordinaire.
Now, let's go downstairs to join the third member of our crew here tonight.
Jon Nelson, John.
Nelson, you've been a busy busy, man.
All weekend long Gil, you are not kidding.
As we have two teams chasing after their first championship, so let's take it.
A team at a time can Norcross add another Maloof to the championship resume for Georgia, high school football, George Maloof, got the State title in 1968 for st. Pius, they came short yesterday in their Championship attempt against Buford but there's another Maloo tonight on the Norcross sideline.
Looking to do the same thing and get his first title for Norcross to get there first.
For Lovejoy, as you said, they were here last year and Al who's is a Clayton County?
Kid, born and bred.
He thinks that you can call it a slight, call it whatever you want.
That Clayton, County football isn't getting it's true.
Do this will be the forum tonight, where the Lovejoy team can really get that first championship and show that Clayton County football means a lot more to the state than what a lot of folks give it credit for back upstairs.
Let's light this candle.
Thank you.
And I'm sure coach or two since meant towards waiting.
And also, how mommy would be very happy for Al use here tonight.
If they could come away with a victory, let's take a little get the keys for the Wildcats of Lovejoy.
Trey unlock them.
Well they can't forget about their quarterback.
Benefield.
Custis gets all the play.
But benefield's, a very accomplished passer.
He's going to need to do something in the passing game to keep Norcross from keying on Travis cusses, they also have to have their linebackers tackle.
Well Alvin Kamara is nearly Unstoppable in the open field when their linebackers have him in their crosshairs, they got to bring.
Him to the ground and on the Norcross.
Look at him running out.
I love them all gray here tonight.
Hope it will leave the luck for them.
Let's unlock their keys.
Well, Gil for the Norcross Blue Devils, they've got to make Lovejoy defend the entire field.
Love Joyce, made a living in opposing.
Backfields this way.
The only way to neutralize is to spread the ball around and then they've got to move on to the next plate.
No doubt that love Joey is going to make some hay on offense, they've got to have a short term memory and bounce back after those big plays and Stewart James had comments opponents, in North Winnetka and also Colquitt County.
So you got to believe I'd love to have been a fly on the wall and somebody try to connect with Bob spire and also Rush Propst and said what do you know about these guys?
Well, Bob Spire had a prediction in the game, he said it was probably going to be 31 230, having played both teams.
He's a pretty good authority.
He's had what seven straight 10-win Seasons at North Gwinnett.
One of the best in the state.
He knows a good team when he sees it and these are two very good ones and you take a look good, keep aloof and there he is on the sidelines and Trey talked about that.
Of course, it's 14th season and, you know, he and the Maloof family have been the only three members George and then Kevin.
And also Now Keith to go to semifinals to lead teams to the semifinals.
And let's take a look at Al Hughes, we talked about him, and of course he worked under the late Wayman Sellers.
And also you mentioned that cut its teeth under how mummy, and just been a fixture in Clayton County tray and what a wonderful.
Interpol wonderful man.
Yeah, by said it last year, Gil in the championship game that they fell short and against Tucker that I haven't ran across many coaches that love their players more than Al Hughes does and more.
So than any other coach from any other region in the state, he carries the torch for Clayton County tonight.
I mean who yes Hope punches and kicks off for Lovejoy, about ready to tee it up on the 40 yard line and we're about ready to get this thing.
Started at 9:05 Eastern here in Atlanta, Lovejoy won the toss and elected to defer.
We'll pick it up in the second half they'll kick off and back deep for Norcross Autry Aikens and tomorrow and taken by one of the up men and Always that.
That was one thing that Bob Spire was concerned about Trey.
They like the pooch it early and that seemed to come to 4 and the early on Take a look get the quarterback Joseph will burn 67 percent completion rate and over close to twenty four hundred yards, 27 touchdowns five picks, kill Hayley to mount him.
And Alvin Kamara are the two most important players on the team because of their athleticism.
But they're also the two most important, guys, because of their leadership, coach Maloof attributes.
His team success this year, to the leadership of his two star players on offense.
The Blue Devils First and Ten at their own, 30 Wilbur backs up close and in its slot and has a man that's tomorrow, it gets over the 35 up to about the 32 yard line, over 37 yard line, tension say Eugene Fuller on the stop.
Take a look at it, line them up.
You know, they've gotten Alvin Kamara involved in the passing game so far in the playoffs in part because miles off, tree has been nursing a sore knee.
We will see miles off Treat this week, but look at the many offers by Alvin Kamara.
One of the best backs not just in the state of Georgia but anywhere in the country when you see organ on their Gil, you know, you're a pretty darn good back when you got teams from the West Coast, coming all the way out here, to Georgia, trying to recruit your services, and they saw that a couple weeks ago and Coach Campbell the running backs coach for the Ducks and making his way to know across the check them out.
The hot snap second and three to pinch on the edge and tomorrow over the 40 up to about 243.
Let's take a look at the offensive starters.
Brought to You by Regions Bank love.
Blake would Calum, crom Ryan Northrop on the offensive line and Horatio Walker.
A big one, and then Kamara, killing and akka, and then, Clinton Lynch, the Norcross offense brought to you.
By Regions Bank.
It's time to expect more first down for the Blue, Blue Devils at their own 42 scoreless, here, 1051 in the opening period, glad to have you with us under the big top here in Atlanta, three wide to the Inside the loan back is Kamara, puts his head down and let's take a look at the Lovejoy defense.
Zane fields on the edge nathe that Nathaniel Norwood, the one that tray spotlighted early, here's a good one.
And being Robinson on the outside, I love him.
The Marcus Gates and Eugene Fuller, and the second level.
Secondary a good one sin wanna would feel wet, white head and al-malik robeson-el Darrell Brown.
Brown and Brandon Davis.
He's a good one as well.
All seniors patrolling the secondary and they do an outstanding job, a gain of 2, s. 88.
Out of the shotgun has woven.
Loads it up and the intended receiver over on the left.
Side was Trey Smith and it falls incomplete.
Yeah.
Trey Smith and his quarterback Joseph Wilbur weren't on the same page right there.
Trey Smith rounded ran a deep out and it looked like Joseph, Wilbur thought he was gonna fade toward the sideline.
It was a miscommunication.
You see, kill trying to go to the air early.
They did that last week against Colquitt and were able to run a nice play action pass for a long.
Touchdown to Clinton Lynch this time they try Trey Smith third in 843.
Good day too wide.
To the near side and too wide to The Far Side in the spread out of the shotgun as well.
Over there bringing the pressure Lovejoy dumps it off to come are on a drop set to 41 and had clear sailing down the left side tray.
You're not kidding guilt, they had Joseph Ledford Their two-year starter left, tackle out in space, to guide Alvin Kamara down the sideline, and Kamali didn't come up with the football Gil.
You're gonna see this a lot tonight because the upfield pass rush for Lovejoy is Relentless.
They're going to take advantage of that.
By throwing underneath right there, it's poor execution by Kamara, not often that we can say that.
He wishes he had that one back for sure.
Well Jonathan Gore was in a neighborhood, kind of scared and and it was a boom.
The punch but taped will go inside the 20 down to about the 19 upon a 38 yards.
so the Wildcats will take over First and Ten their first possession of this football game here tonight we take a look at their outstanding sophomore quarterback Alejandro Benefield 61 percent completion rate, close to twenty four hundred yards And 28 touchdowns 143 4234 5 picks, empty set First and Ten throws it on its going to be a jump ball.
And right there, the intended receiver was to Michael Ramos.
Take a look at the offensive line.
Johnson Robinson Jones and Montreux Robinson.
And then take a look at the backfield.
Travis custis, a Jackson, love him Murphy and Ramos or it's good as you can get in Georgia, high school football.
Some big guys, on the offensive line starting lineup brought to you.
By Regions Bank, it's time to expect more second and 10 Centerfield Out of the shotgun to give us the Customs make 2530, First Step getting space and doing the best with it.
Kill you just saw a cross section of this Lovejoy offense on the past, two plays Benefield, goats keep the first plane.
Then he comes back to his work horse on the second, play for an 11-yard gain and Travis custis.
The young man's headed to, Georgia Tech, he is their Workforce.
They would love to turn around and hand him the ball upwards of 25 times.
Times tonight.
But Benefield as I mentioned in our key skills, very dangerous in the passing game as well.
Ready to them for yards?
We got 15 but he gets it again.
It gets over left tackle.
Let's take a look at the defensive starters for not cross.
The ends are outstanding Carter and Joan sandwich in between Connolly and March.
Oh, that's a very formidable.
Formidable front for the linebacking, through outstanding with table Han and japon Frazier, and then the secondary Aitken who's headed to the University of California Brown.
Henderson's, I love Jordan ol and Japan symptoms and outstanding secondary as well.
Starting lineup brought to you by Regions Bank, it's time to expect more benefield's, backs up, loads it up, and the pass is tipped in it for Incomplete at the 35 yard line, the intended receiver.
There was that big fall exam Michael Ramos set out of bring up third and six the only going to watch the pocket here if they can provide a pocket like this against this very talented Norcross defensive line, it could be a very very long night.
The ball just sailed you see that a lot on the first possession of a big game like this, Alejandra Benefield little pre-game Jitters.
Let that one sale a little bit but looks like he's targeting Ramos here in the early going.
A very talented guy at 64.
£15 and they also have a Jackson and Jeff Murphy.
And like I said, there's good and receiving tandem as there is all in the state of Georgia, third and six at the 38 scoreless, here in Atlanta benefiel back enough rolling, right?
Throws the intended, receiver.
Close to Midfield was to Michael Raymond Still Norcross decided to Blitz right there.
They sent both their interior linebackers Tommy Tate and Kevin Mohan.
That's what flushed Benefield out of the pocket, is normally very accurate on the run, but he just got a little jumpy right there and threw the ball down in the dirt.
To Michael rainbows did have a little bit of a step on his man.
It looks like Ramos is going to be featured in this offense all night long Gil.
Riggins also defending on the play dough, nice job.
Nunez will punt it and taking it after 25.
Is your pain symptoms?
Upon up 37 yards downstairs to Nelly.
Hello.
Thank you GT.
Spend some time with the Norcross offensive line first assessment after the initial Drive, guys, you're fine.
Bottom line was, you had a screen dropped for a first down and the only thing different from the Lovejoy.
524 is it, they switch to a four down linemen in that first series.
So they switch it up a little bit.
It just takes adjustment to adjustment to come back for the second series first intend 31, I'm a good trade elaborate on that in a few moments after this sequence, right here, the pitch down in the edge and getting close to the 40 and over the 40.
It's come our eyes back at the 42 yard line.
Just a typical toss week to the wide side of the field for Kamara and Gil.
That's what you notice from Kamara.
We mentioned in our keys that he is very much Unstoppable in the open field.
The first guy who rarely gets him down but they are doing the right thing by going low on him.
You cannot tackle a guy like that high.
They're getting him down Gil but he's picking up yards.
Five six seven yards at a time and to elaborate on your point.
Yes the John Nelson was making this is a very atypical defense nowadays.
It's a five-man front because Nathaniel Norwood Listed as a nose.
Tackle number 40 in the middle but he's really more of a linebacker he'll shift from linebacker to down lineman all night.
They line up in and I S and one that's Kimura and he pushes the pile ahead and he'll get a first down and will be a first down for no, across on the stop was Chris Christian full of joy.
They'll spot it at about the 44 and checking into the football game.
For the first time tonight is a very talented fullback number 34, for Norcross.
He's a junior, Warren, McWilliams, he's a tremendous blocker.
And he's going to line up right now as an HVAC and they're coming out.
With Kimora again, as the Deep back First and Ten.
I'm Going On The Edge as Kamara over Midfield into Lovejoy territory.
249 I don't have stopped was the markets Gates and you see McWilliams ahead with the Great Seal block.
The tremendous block on the strong safety Tyrell Brown, that allows Kamara to pick up six yards on the second down carry.
And this is the territory that Norcross wants to be in Gill and second down and manageable look for them at some point in the near future to go back to that screen pass as well.
That Kimura dropped on their first possession.
Second and manageable is right about second and for tomorrow right now 5 carats 425 Dodge snap.
And tomorrow, The Edge gets away from a tackler, gets back to the line of scrimmage they know.
What was there to upend and lucky to gain one tray?
Yeah there was good.
Penetration on the defensive right side left side as well for that matter.
The initial tackle wasn't made and then Nate Norwood comes out of nowhere.
And once again goes low on Alvin Kamara.
Oh, that's the way to get him to the ground.
You gotta look at Chris Ellis.
we like to rotate those tackles and that 34 alignment, and a whole lot of assorted, multiple, looks for Lovejoy here tonight, third and three, At the 49 of the Wildcats were scoreless here in Atlanta.
The 6A state championship on the line and a delay, we await the call.
Great gah gah sa officiating crew here tonight.
Headed up by Larry cook with messrs Brock cook sham.
Well Morgan Austin and fool.
No penalty, assessed feel they're just going to let him play after they discussed it.
It'll still be third down and short.
Third in 3609 are they opening period?
The high snap Wilbur line.
Something that ball was almost picked off because Brandon Davis tried to jump the Wrath but it is complete.
It is the Clinton Lynch.
Let's take a look at the iso tray.
Yeah they've got to be very careful on the outside because Brandon Davis is picked off seven passes this year and taken five of them back for Kenny was a hair away for making an interception there but it was a nice catch by the Z receiver Clinton Lynch, it'll keep the sticks moving and norcross's now well inside Lovejoy territory for the first time tonight, their offense is moving Guild.
They're doing a good job of tackling Kamara but they're still giving up multiple yards on first down.
First down is going to be key for the Lovejoy defense, there's the antenna at the 45 546 to go.
The pitch and sweeping wide with open space and them some and getting out of Bounds at the 35 of solvent tomorrow.
Chris Christian in Hot Pursuit on.
Close to first down yardage, it'll depend on the spot.
Second time on this possession, Gil.
They've gone toss sweep to the wide side of the field and kemara just lets his speed take over from there.
He's a very talented player, in many aspects.
Speed is probably the thing that makes him the most dangerous, Darrell Brown and also Mantra custis in the neighborhood.
Well we're scoreless here in Atlanta 537 we'll be right back under the big top after this The 2012 GHSA Championship is made possible in part, by Regions Bank, it's time to expect more George's.

I'm all over Facebook.
You'll and I'm finally in the Twitter universe to as of a couple of weeks ago, even banging out some tweaks.
Second one as the 36 over to play fake gonna go along and have a receiver wide open.
Two Defenders were fighting for the football and it was broken up.
Trey Smith, the intended receiver down at the 1 and down here to bring it up with Brandon Davis.
That's Brandon Davis.
The young man I just talked about Gil having picked off seven passes this year.
Five four touchdowns he is their best corner going up against the best wide receiver for Norcross has.
Well, it's not a badly thrown Ball but it was a little under thrown Joseph Wilbur.
Gil is the king of the play -action pass.
He sells that fake.
They, that's not the last time that they'll go back to that.
They took a shot there on second short, because they felt confident picking up third and short, here on this play right here.
Mr. Than one, that's a 36 over right now, to of For 11 yards, deep it and follow left guard and it's good enough for a first down the spot was right there.
Randy, I gotta.
Who are you gonna want to stop?
So that'll make it first down at the 30 4522.
Get a look at people who look to the West Georgia Loganville.
Meadowcreek Dacula, yo sorry, excuse me, they're coming out in the wild cat here with Kimora as the QB well-kept for the first opportunity.
We see in here tomorrow and the pistol, so keep it.
And he'll will go over Rygaard, get down field, mate.
Norwood on the stop again of a couple do, when they get S NH, excuse me, when they get in this Wildcat formation, it's gonna be Nate.
Norwood the young man that we spotlighted the top of the broadcast that they use to spy the quarterback.
He's an awfully good one doing so.
Over 40, tackles for loss on the season.
He's going to be all over the place.
You're going to hear us say Nathaniel Norwood's name a lot.
He's going to line up in the egg.
After the left side this time second and eight at 4:30 to the high snap, the pitch rod and turning the corner and getting close to the 25-yard line.
It's Kamara and sin want a white head on the stuff that spotted about the 24.
Take a look at an oven come on.
His numbers.
Nine carries, for 42 yards, whole lot of family watching number six.
Tonight in the African nation of Liberia, the joining us on gpb.org worldwide streaming.
Third and three at the 27th scoreless, here in the Georgia, Dome in 68 title on the line, Lovejoy and Norcross guilt, I retraining, hang on John, Nelson, and stopped for no game, there's that man, again, Nate know what throwing it up, and making the tackle, and same Fields was there with them.
The replate ray.
Gill coach, you said, he's going to move them all over the place.
You see him on the interior there, he's one of the best best in high school football at that.
When move right there, they lined in the head up over the guard.
Normally lined up at nose tackle or even back up off the line of scrimmage is the Mike linebacker.
They've moved him all over the place tonight.
He has done that all season long who's in under sized guy killed, but he's committed to playing football at Jack State.
I believe he might get some more offers for some bigger schools if he keeps playing like that.
Yes, thank don't play overdrive coming up.
And a timeout for the Blue Devils.
Steve Maloof enjoying his crew here tonight.
We're scoreless 2:57 in the first great ballgame, seventh, and final championship point of a big weekend here at GPB.
Whether you're trading the city for the snow or vice versa.
Honda's four-wheel drive will get you there.
The redesign Honda Pilot.
All right, back here at the Georgia Dome.
You see the marker for band right now.
Trey, what are you going to do?
What you and Coach, the loose pocket?
Stupid.
Look at the resume, take a look at the resume for Norcross.
Then we're going to get some strategy from big trash strategically, first-ever finals appearance for Norcross like I mentioned before, they're in Uncharted Territory, best season ever.
They won, 12 games have already won 14 this season, their longest win streak in school history.
They've made the playoffs seven of eight years.
Of course, they're always competing.
In that region Guild with North Gwinnett and College Hill and Mill.
Creek is one of the toughest in the state five playoff appearances from 1955 to 2005, that tells you right there, how important having a good coaches and outscoring their opponents 537 2188 fourth and four.
But the question and you answer it, I can guilt.
I don't know if you'll like my answer but you're in no man's land right there.
You've got a decent field goal.
Kicker and Joseph my food but as long on the season is 32 yards so you're outside.
Is range right now so you might as well just go for it.
And that's what coach Maloof is going to do.
He's made four out of five.
The aforementioned goes with my food.
Like a Riverboat Gambler that's Mets and motion fumbled snap and he gets leveled as well--for Fields.
Was there Norwood was there and Lovejoy?
Wildcat defense flew this play a bad snap and boy you see the bad snap there Here Comes st. Fields and Nate Norwood wilberg did a great job just to get on the ball and his Had whipped awfully violent down on the turf issues after he got leveled right there on, fourth down and five.
So you thought maybe we don't get, we don't pick up the first down, we at least pin him down inside the 30 yard line, but because of the law Skillets great field position First and Ten from the 40, and a long Civil whopping, 12 yard Lovejoy takes over First and Ten at the 40, great field position and that's custis, sleeping on the left side.
Got a couple gets to about 242.
That'll bring up 2nd and 8th.
Yo, to pick your poison if you're the Norcross defense, because Alejandro Benefield is so dangerous as a passer, we've already seen him, take a couple of shots, deep.
And as I mentioned, if they have their way Coach Hughes, would like to turn around and hand the ball to custis, 25 or 30 times tonight.
But if they start relying on custis, carrying the ball, they'll play action, fake.
It just like Joseph wielder will and go down the field.
Nobody throws the default, quite like Alejandro Benefield.
And you get a false start.
He had a full started with very wide to Your side.
And Hey great shot and Nate.
Norwood really directing the troops over there.
I love that kid.
Practice snap false, start offense, five-yard penalty, second down Jill, just to your point coach.
You said, we hear about high motor, guys all the time.
He said, his motor is always running, it's a wonder.
He ever gets any sleep at night and you can see that on the field in his place.
So far tonight, the emotional leader of the defense without a doubt.
What a player?
16 and a half sacks coming into this football game here tonight.
Jack state is getting some kind of player also.
So school that outdoor our huge attended in addition to rush Propst that passes complete and close to Midfield as a Jackson on the completion from Benefield.
And I will be close to a first down.
They'll be short about about a yard tray.
Yeah just when you start with a key on Alejandro Benefield and Travis custis, you go to perhaps the best tied into the state of Georgia.
The senior a Jackson who's committed to playing football at Auburn next, season, third and short.
Second effort will get custis.
The first down.
Kind of ducked in and then the second effort and lunge forward tray and he was fighting for yards here.
Yeah, camera work for a guy to GP being Turner.
You're right.
And you were right Gil.
It was the second effort it, got clogged up inside, he had to spit off, to his left, to pick up the first down and he barely got it.
He had to get right to the 50.
And as you can see the ball just over into Norcross territory Summit.
8 among those on the stuff and of Field.
Five Steps rocks.
Throws it into the right.
And the past is complete.
That's just Murphy.
And they're into Norcross territory, they'll spot it about the blue double 49 right now, the Norcross defense doing an exceptional job of keeping lovejoy's offensive weapons in front of them and not letting anybody get into open field, both offenses tonight, Guild Shop full of players that can run after the catch.
And after the carrying this, what do we call it black run after the catch.
What's this?
What a big hole, he's at the 40, those outside, 30 25, 24, yard line, and out of bounds.
That's a first down for Lovejoy.
Still no sooner.
Did we mention that nobody's broken to open space tonight?
Travis custis answers.
The Bell, great blocking up front, and then fantastic blocking outside by a guy that'll be playing with next season at.
Georgia Tech.
And jamychal, Ramos big first down for Lovejoy, deepest penetration on offense by either team so far early in this game getting to the second level.
It can push.
Out of bounds to gain of 25 first and 10.
Under a minute, 37 seconds to the exact as we wind down the first quarter, lead a man in motion and that's Custer's, pushing his way over the 20, inside the 20 down to about the 17 yard line.
You'll take a look at this Lovejoy.
Offensive line.
They're finally starting to hit their stride here and their second possession.
Yes, they're blowing Norcross off the line.
There was penetration on that play by defensive tackle number 57 for Norcross, Michael Marshall, but he was laying on the ground and you can't lay on the ground and bring Travis custis down.
Once he gets a head of steam, he's an Unstoppable force between the tackles Kool Kidz, neuron, this stuff custis, six carries 54 yards, they get the playoffs before the end of the first and spinning around.
Was Custer's, San Lorenzo, Carter swallowed him up.
So that will Mark the end of the first quarter and what appears to be a dynamite ballgame here for the 6A State title guilt irate Ray McDaniel, John Nelson, and you will be right back after this as we start the second.
This program on GPB is made possible in part by supporters of the Georgia, High School Association including the following 75 years ago.

It's the final stage of the game and it's also time for Jane to choose a door, help her out.
What door should she pick?
All right, so Jane which door did you choose?
Think I'm going to go with door number two or number.

It looks like it says right here that you never graduated high school.
So none of these doors are available to you.
That's it for chance of a lifetime.
We'll see you next time.
Scoreless here, as we start the second Lovejoy and no across the Great War is Over and the long waiting engagement, long-awaited engagement is on, but all is not trample and Downton Abbey.
As wrenching social changes romantic, intrigues and personal crisis.
Rip the Majestic foolish country is stayed for third thrilling season.
The yellow new Downton Abbey returns to GPB Sunday, January 6th at 9 p.m. in prime time.
You're going to check out doubt.
Now, absolutely guilt.
Especially after last night you really got me intrigued with your British accent and I think you're going to be making your cameo on the next episode.
That's what do you know you got my character picked out.
I don't want to touch that with a 10-foot Pole.
Big third down here.
Till I want to keep the drive going for Lovejoy at the Red Zone.
The 20-yard line of be exact Benefield short, drop on the fade route and jockeying for position and fighting for position to get that football out to you and defending on the play was J-Kwon Simpkins Gill.
This is the second third and long, they've had both times.
They've sent the linebackers Tommy, Tate, and Kevin Mohan, straight up the middle, and they've really gotten Benefield out of his rhythm.
And if he's got time, he can pick you apart.
The problem is, he hasn't had time.
So far tonight because they are in predictable passing situations and they're sending the house.
Hey, Jackson, the intended receiver.
You get a look at Jaime Nunez heat, for 3 of 6.
And that one is no good from 38.
Yeah, that's all.
You know, moral victory for Norcross holds the fork tries to will it.
Yeah, Nunez has been pretty reliable this season into had plenty of leg.
Yes, but it was wide to the left, missed opportunity to put points on the board and be the first to break the ice in this game.
You'll, this game is exactly what we expected it to be.
It's all knotted up, 020.
And right now, the defense has have taken Center Stage.
Despite all the hoopla surrounding all the Two players on both sides of the ball on offense.
Miles.
Autry, who had that knee injury sustained last week against Colquitt County in the game for the first time here tonight?
That's warmer will keep it and get over the 25 yard line of spotted about at the 3:33 Reaper backs.
Sometimes it's not about the place that you make with the plays that you don't make that play, was designed to be a Pitch Out to Alvin Kamara on.
Offensive right side but because of the upfield pass rush by Lovejoy, he just kept it by no means was that at designed run for Wilbur but he certainly made the most of it and again Norcross finds themselves and second down and manageable because of the nice heads up play by Joseph Wilbur pickup of seven, the Blue Devils with the spread look.
At their own 27.
That's Kamara.
And Eugene Fuller at the second level on the stop.
You'll Eugene, Fuller.
Number 34, Lovejoy play second fiddle to the junior number 38 degage but he's a pretty pretty good football player in his own, right eighty seven, tackles on the season.
He's also a two-year starter.
One of the young men that we saw play against Tucker.
Last year, he did a great job closing up that hole to force a third down and long.
I gave him two and Tres.
Exactly, right, third, and one at the 29, Backs in and I bought Wilber Lovejoy faking Blitz.
They pack out of it.
Long Count by Wilbur.
And that's come our slides over the 30 up to about the 31.
Eugene Fuller, again among those gonna stop coming into this football game Fuller at eighty seven, tackles and 6-1 220-pound, senior kill.
It's not often that D Gates.
Number 38, for Lovejoy, meets a running back in the hole, and that running back, doesn't immediately go to the ground.
But Alvin Kamara is not of this world, he is one of the best backs anywhere.
And although we went down because of the contact, he was able to use his second effort to keep the sticks moving and get a first down.
Exactly right.
I'll give it to him again.
Get out on the edge.
Get close to the 35 yard line, same Fields among those pushing him out of bounds and he scoots and scoots and scoots.
Yeah, look at number 7 there.
His job as the defensive end Gil is to contain and what that means is he is not supposed to let anybody outside of them.
And that was great technique.
He kept the offensive tackle to his inside and he went straight up field.
But Alvin Kamara, speed is what will dim to that for yard game, Montreux custis on this stuff?
Second and seven.
After 34 scoreless, here in the second period Lovejoy and Norcross at state fairs 6A Championship here in Georgia, Lovejoy, almost gone off sides.
And only keeper, it's Wilbur gets close to the 40 about at the 38 Gil, we mentioned on the last carry by Alvin Kamara, that it was a heads-up.
Play, did not pitch the ball this time.
This is a designed run to set up.
Work down in manageable.
Wilbur, not known for his legs.
Gil comes into the for this football game with only 199 yards on the ground, but they're very strategic when they asked him to carry the ball.
He's not a big guy, Gil.
Just six foot 173 pounds, but he is leading this offense right down doing a heck of a job.
Another big third down upcoming for Nate, Norwood in the Lovejoy defense third and manageable third, the three to be exact And pushing his way forward running off tackle was Kamara, and it depends on the spot Tre Darrell Brown on the stop coming over from a strong safety spot to make.
They hit your right on Gil is certainly is going to depend on the spot.
It looks like he might be just and Tyrell.
Brown did a fantastic job.
Number one coming up from his strong, safety position and making a really sure cackle on Kamara Gil, it's no secret tonight.
Kumar's going to get the ball often, they really brought.
The long slow this year, but right now No Holds Barred in the championship.
Look at the tray, that's how close.
But up your entrée signal the first down.
There you go first down at Home Folks.
First, and Ten for the Blue Devils, as these Drive continued, no, easy yard so far in this game.
Gill no easy yards.
These two defenses have come to play games today, ECI over the Lee County, 47, 27, Jefferson over Calhoun.
3114 T McFerrin again in the loan, each column Sandy Creek 4510 of originally First and Ten at the 41.
Rover out of the shotgun going outside and cutting inside.
Its come are Don Nelson.
Hello.
Good evening yell?
Yes, give you a mi Autry update.
Remember early in the week coach?
Maloof said that when it came to that knee of Autry's that we're going to test him out on the turf kind of do like practice.
And if it was gonna work, he'd play, I talk to Miles.
He said, he'd been cleared to go and they were just going to end up using him in the situations where he'd be needed.
You've seen him only as a decoy so far tonight.
I don't think it will go much further, than that, precautionary move.
And I applaud it because the kids future, It's take Z goes on to the next level, second and 5 and Diving forward and push back and still on his feet.
It's come on.
Come on, 19.
Fuller tomorrow is not used to this guilt on the stuff.
He's not used to facing a defense like this, the two linebackers in this 50 defense for Lovejoy.
Number 38, D Gates, in number 30, Eugene Fuller, they are among the best tandem in the state Fuller's, going to graduate this year, but D Gates will be back for his third consecutive.
Cute of year, starting in this defense next season.
These guys are special when they meet you in the hole, they mean business.
They've set up yet another third down for Norcross, certain 3, an outstanding job on that defense put together by Kevin Jones.
A good friend.
I'm Tracy McDaniel, but pitch Come on, no service.
Nowhere.
And push back.
Yes.
Who Gil Eugene?
Fuller number 30 is everywhere tonight.
He came to win a state championship and he doesn't care.
That Alvin, Kamara is getting, looks from UGA and Alabama in Oregon right now, he's got his eyes on the prize, he did a great job right there, one on one in open field with Alvin Kamara.
One of the toughest kids in the state to tackle and watch this.
He stands him up.
Trey Smith tries to put a block on him but it went wide receivers trying to block Eugene Fuller.
It's not going to work out very many times and Tate has to punt for the second.
Tonight.
Tate at his own 35.
High-end over and putt.
Taking at the 20 and driven back with Brandon Davis upon of 32 aching on the stop great coverage but a special teams of no Crossing, particularly Sean Aiken, Sean eakins was probably a little bit surprised, Gil and Jaquan Simpkins that they tried to return that kick but there's some deadly kick returners in this game.
I'm surprised that Tommy Tate, floated that up and gave him an opportunity to kick most the time tonight and kickoffs and punts, you'll see everything.
Because they don't want to give an opportunity for Miles, Audrey, Sean Atkins, and Daquan Simpkins to return it and oh, by the way, on the Lovejoy side they've got a gentleman in the name of Brandon Davis who's also returned a few on his own but now Lovejoy their defense held him.
And now their offense gets another shot first in tens of them.
At their, on 19, sleeping on the outside, turning the corner.
It's custis.
And he slides over the 20 up to about 220 to custis numbers.
He's right now.
Tray, take us through eight carries 56 yards.
We saw tomorrow with similar numbers when he put his graphic on the screen.
A few moments ago, these guys are earning every inch that they pick up tonight in the defense has Gil have done a phenomenal job of tackling the gain of four second and six at the 23 putting his head down and lowering it getting over the 25 about to the 27-yard line is custis.
Michael Marshall on a stock still, this is a very interesting down in distance, third down and a long three.
They might air it out here because it's been tough sledding inside with custis, to to the top of your screen.
And the pass is complete.
That's a Jackson to Midfield, 45 44, yard line first for the Lovejoy.
Wildcats nice.
Had a manned space to completion, a gain of 30.
Yeah and he lived Ajax and getting off the field gingerly.
He did a great job concentrating to come up with this ball.
You see, once again on third down nor crossing the line backers, it rushes Benefield.
But when you've got a guy that six-foot-six, you can afford to throw it a little bit High and Just a blitz, the linebacker there was nobody out there in space to make the tackle, that's why they got the big gain in.
Once again, lovejoy's inside Norcross territory threatening and he beated lunging, Jordan ol First and Ten at the 44 on the boot and sliding his Benefield.
And he almost got clocked.
Tommy, Tate was ready to take his hat off your, this was a broken play.
The snap wasn't great when Benefield turned around.
It was a broken play and decided to just keep it on his own.
He did.
A very smart thing and going down because number 51 is bearing down on him a guy that coach Maloof compares to Dick Butkus.
Except for Tommy tape doesn't even know who Dick Butkus was until the coach reminded him.
He said, this guy is a different cat, listen to his generation, maybe, Brian Urlacher.
There you go.
Mom, and I've been to Second and 11 at the 45, that's Benefield track enough.
Avoid the Rocks, looks long, has a receiver out there and running under it and the lunging grab doesn't Have it?
It falls incomplete.
Knowledge of Michael Ramos.
Yeah, the officials are all over that.
Three of them ran in and slap the turf saying no that ball.
Hit the turf.
That was a tremendous effort though.
By jamychal Ramos.
The defender fell down.
That's what you call laying out for the ball.
He did everything that he could possibly do.
That one's not on him whatsoever.
Benefield once again, Gil pressured by the linebackers and forced to heave it up off of his back foot.
He almost made a special play right there, just a fraction of an inch away from the first touchdown of this game and 11.
One more, look at the great effort.
Great pictures provided by our outstanding crew led by the commander Steve Graham.
3y to the top of your screen Benefield backs up over the middle hats or receiver and it falls incomplete at look like that was Brandon Davis at the 25-yard line tray.
He has clear sailing and said mama, look what I got, but it's a hot potato and he drafted kill Brandon Davis.
Only comes in on offense in what they call the Brandon offense.
Once again, third down and long, they Blitz the linebacker.
So there's nobody there to account for Brandon Davis and he just drops it.
This is a young man that scored, multiple touchdowns this season, he wishes.
He had that one back.
That was a first down in a lot.
More accent of Benefield tells the story.
Nunez.
Hi Elevator, Shaft height Parts.
It'll take a bounce on Norcross, bounce and recovered right there by Norwood at the 3 yard line.
And that's where they take over fun of 29, great ball game early on scoreless, here in Atlanta, we'll be right back on GPB.
Here's you better for a great career than the 25.

Four minutes to go until halftime scoreless here and Trey.
You said it.
It's going to be a good one.
Yeah, I did a lot of people ask me my prediction on this game and I said it's probably going to come down to some silly stuff that drop by Brandon Davis falls into that category.
They might wish they had that one back by the time, the clock hits triple zero tonight.
The blue do First, and Ten and Wilbur looking for his receiver and we have a flag on the play and it looked like it was Trey Smith at Midfield.
And it was a jump ball and it falls incomplete.
Montrell custis.
Defending on the play.
Cu the calls on terrain.
It's gonna be on Montreux custis.
Kill I thought that deal.
I thought that was just good old-fashioned football.
He turned around and made a play on the ball.
That's all you can ask your free safety to do.
I don't know if that was really worthy of a flag, there was a lot of contact there, but it was certainly within the five yard area.
He's heard the referee in high school football.
It's not a spot of the foul, it's a 15-yard penalty.
And an automatic first down nonetheless, it's a huge break for the Norcross offense.
They get a new set of downs at the 42 352 on the pi.
On custis, against lunch Wolverine, the shotgun High snap.
And Kamara got a wrapped up and push back and among those defending was Chris Ellis.
Norwood was there just a slew of Wildcat Defender?
Watch the initial contact.
They're splitting two offensive.
Lineman is Nate nor would he just has The Knack for getting into the backfield.
It's almost like he knows the snap count in the offensive line doesn't he makes the initial contact.
He can't bring Kimura down.
Rarely does one guy get him to the ground but he's got a lot of It's there including Eugene for to clean up the mess and we got another flag.
Personal foul Gill on Norcross and on Lovejoy.
So, they offset correct?
Yes, they do.
After the play personal foul against a 15-yard penalty Now, the initial signal said there was a personal foul on both sides but they're assessing the penalty on Norcross in.
Not calling a penalty on Lovejoy.
He initially signaled that ball personal foul.
Here's something from 15 yards, okay?
The second.
Now, if there's a 15-yard penalty on one team Gil, now I'm not a math.
Major, and there's 15-yard penalty on the other team.
They could just leave the ball right where it sits.
But they mark it off, just to be safe.
After all of that.
It's second and 14 at the 38.
There you go.
The blue double flip.
You ask me all the time.
Gill and my smarter apparently.
I am not.
We showed it then to receive us to the near to at the top of the screen and let's put look the high snap again well over under pressure and he gets warm under and nail.
Then he'll take a huge loss.
Holy mackerel Gil is Eugene Fuller, having the game of his life on the biggest stage of his life.
He wants to go out on top, the senior.
Coming up the middle and breaking down.
He's not going to let Wilbur get outside of them, has to navigate through a couple of offensive linemen to get there and drops him for a loss.
So after it's all said and done with the offsetting personal fouls in, the tackle for loss, its third down and about 22 yards to go for Norcross, has offense.
There's not a play in your play book for this.
I look for them.
Maybe Gil to go back to that screen pass earlier, that Kimura drop, I will keep an eye on at a loss of Apes.
All spotted smack, dab of influence scoreless here at the Georgia Dome no across and Really glad to have you with us here on GPB.
Again the high snap out of the shotgun.
They dump it off and Lovejoy it's right there to smell it out and making the tackle with Zane field coming into the game.
He had 72 and a hat tackles, we got a flag on the play, well, and what does it indicate tray from our Vantage Point, fully aggressive after they blew the whistle same Fields was tossing and Alvin Kamara around like a rag doll.
It was a screen pass.
Like, I predicted, but they're going to call a personal foul on number seven, Zane Fields.
It's going to give them a new set of downs.
You cannot do that.
You cannot hurt your team like that.
On a third down and 22.
When you make a phenomenal play, like that the plays over, you're about to get the ball back in great field position, you just let your emotions get the best of you absolutely uncalled for.
You see that shipping a plane.
And look at the hit the globe, until 15 yards.
They're gonna get Chris Ellis for a blow to the head on Wilbur to kill you.
Cannot do that.
At your defense is playing the game of their lives right now, and you were about to get Norcross off the field.
Well, they're going to mark it as a 4th down here, Gil.
Yeah, and they're going to have to punt anyway, tell me table stand at his own 25.
Not a great Pump Fuel but they'll take that all day.
They don't want.
Brandon Davis have any part of the kick return tonight, put them 30 yards, get a look inside, the Georgia Dome, what's been an outstanding two days?
So far, as we told you the winners today, you see, I Jefferson Sandy Creek.
They join Eagles.
Landing and Buford in Gainesville from yesterday, and we got one more Crown 2012 edition of the GHSA football championships here in Atlanta.
One of these two teams is about 26 minutes and 12 seconds away from taking a state championship trophy back home for the first time in school history, and this game has given us everything we expected no points as of, yet, the defenses are playing very well.
But either one of these offenses could go off at any moment.
Three wide.
And the loan back with Benefield was customers he'll take the carry get over the See up to about the 32, another late flag, and another flag will listen in on the call.
Looks like it's going to be on Lovejoy deal, illegal formation on the offense.
Not a players on the line by a lot of speed on this field tonight.
Man may be Lonesome, speed many more than any team.
Two teams that we've seen oppose each other this year we've seen Some mismatches in the speed department but these two teams are mirror images of each other from Alejandro, Benefield and Joseph Wilbur all the way to Travis custis and kemara Lorenzo.
Carter Nate Norwood.
They're very evenly matched teams.
In both teams are doing that right there, Gil?
Trying to take advantage of the other teams upfield pass, rush Benefield the screen to custis.
He got close to the first down tray.
They needed 15.
It depends on the spot.
Now we've seen Norcross try the screen pass twice tonight and neither one of them have worked out.
They go to their first screen pass of the night for the Wildcats and it works out perfectly.
They've got a convoy in front of him in custis.
Gil yards after contact Compass among the best in the state of Georgia.
Michael Marshall cheated, a little bit, got burned on that play.
Otherwise, he'll run after the catch and it was good for 15 and a well-kept, first down First and Ten at their own 40.
Benefield has a receiver in that passage complete.
That's to Michael Raymond and he's got a gun.
Gil.
This is one of the prettiest passes that you will ever see.
Most quarterbacks put too much air under this.
This is a laser down the sideline to jamychal Ramos they have tried to get him.
The ball made a concerted effort to do so here in the first half and with a minute 32 go on the clock, they finally strike first blood that young man's going to Georgia Tech and you just saw why Noni has on for the extra point, the kick is up and it is perfect.
So it is Lovejoy drawing.
First Blood to plays 70 yards, the elapsed time 42 seconds.
This is what we saw from the endzone.
A great look from our camera, man down field level and jamychal, Ramos.
And Benefield is very, very happy Alejandro Benefield.
He's happy Gil, because for one of the few times tonight, he's dropped back in the pocket and not had Kevin Mohan and Tommy Tate bearing down on him.
You know what, they did to neutralize that Gil.
Instead of taking a five to seven step drop, they just had him take a three-step drop and use his arm to get the ball down the sideline to Ramos he hit him in-stride it couldn't have been a more perfect pass and now Norcross has a minute 32 answer back before the half.
But unfilled 5 of 11, you get a look at keep Maloof five of eleven 117 yards, 60, coming on that big play to the big play.
Receiver to Michael Ramos for the touchdown.
7, nothing Lovejoy and the folks in Clayton County are Gone.
Bananas right now what this win would mean.
For the great community of Clayton County, it would be huge.
You'll they haven't had a team in the state championship, I think since 1999 and that was Lovejoy, been a long time.
Coming the food s***.
Spinning his way and still on his feet and getting outside was wench one of the up men and brought down and trick, I'll tell you what, man is spinning and moving any moment, you know, you just get that feeling from Norcross, you had it for both teams until Lovejoy just scored.
But now it's Norcross has turned.
They've been just an eyelash away from executing on their big plays.
Take a look at the replay.
Lynch one of the up men in there, making a concerted effort, not to put the ball, only on receiving team.
Y'all coming from Spotify out there, trying to make a concerted effort, not to put the ball in Jaquan symptoms and Sean Aikens hands, but Clinton Lynch is a star wide receiver for this team more than capable of returning kicks.
But most the time when you have a guy reverse field like that on a kick return, you get some kind of infraction in there.
You got ahold, I remember watching film with Bob spire and mo Dixon, the great tandem up in North Gwinnett.
They were concerned about the kicking game of love joy and they said they'd like to poach it.
They have an outstanding kicking game.
The pump fake me intended, receiver up at about mid field was Trey Smith and it falls incomplete.
This is a very similar play to what Lovejoy scored on just a few moments ago except this time Wilbur pump fakes to try to Get Smith open and drop the ball over the corner and underneath the safety and he darn near did it with the ball.
Just a little too tall for Smith.
He got a pawn.
It Gilbert couldn't.
Bring it down second and ten at the 26-7.
Nothing Lovejoy.
Courtesy of this 60-yard bomb, From Benefield to jamychal Ramos, empty set, shotgun High snap Wilbur will keep it and push it Forward.
Close to the 35 yard line drug down at about the 34 it'll be it'll depend on the spot kill and passing situations for Norcross it plays right into the hands of the Lovejoy defense because they are up field type of guys Nate Norwood again in on the stop.
Not only did he not only was the author of the pressure that got Wilbur off of his spot.
He runs down field seven yards down field and makes the tackle third and short that the 3339 six to go until halftime.
Double wide at the top.
And over the middle of the intended, receiver output about the 45-yard line.
They lined up come are in space.
That it falls incomplete.
Excellent, defensive play and in the neighborhood, it look like Fuller was there.
Norcross wants to be a balanced offense but when they are a predictable passing team, it is a bad matchup for them against the front five if you will because I'll include Nate Norwood in that for the Lovejoy defense.
And now the only took a minute off the clock there, 30 seconds to go and this explosive offense for Lovejoy is going to get it back.
Great punt by Taylor, table form of high end over end and backing up and calling for the fair Catch and they'll take it right there upon of about 46 yards.
I was Brandon Davis.
Let's out.
I got 22 kicks.
22 ticks to go take a look at the crowd here.
What has been an outstanding day coming up at the half, Mark Harmon, he's done an outstanding job, all two days.

They're playing, they're playing well on defense and thank goodness.
Our kids are too so look forward to that next half and then you got the one break at the touchdown pass to get you to seven.
Nothing lead.
Well, we've been doing that all year to.
So like to have a Couple more of those Norcross is a great football team and their offense is very, very explosive.

A lot of great things going on and I'm just especially proud of those young men as we started the season, we kind of question some of the leadership, the leadership abilities, but as the season went on, they became leaders and leaders on and off the field.
Not.
So we are proud of the young men in the community is definitely behind the local hot.

I would think being A coach we know what he told us physical therapist but having he can be a coach physical therapist.
And before we let you go, I'm going to give you a couple seconds here.
You're not just the mother of a star football player.
You were also a teacher.

Thank you so much and good luck to you guys back to you, mark.
Thanks cat.
We are getting ready for the second half of this big six.
A battle between Norcross and Lovejoy.
So, Final time this season, I say Gillan tray, take it away Marky Mark's, thank you halftime festivities are wrapping up here.
The Georgia Dome Lovejoy had in front of Norcross who will take the 68 title, big tray.

So fun and games, don't you?
It's still fun and games on every job application gets in on, soon as power I hear all these jobs they're not and this power I hear all these colleges did not but I have all these papers I wish I would only got Now, go and graduate.
Back here in Atlanta, our halftime score.
The Lovejoy Wildcats out, in front of Norcross, Blue Devils by the count of seven.
Nothing guilt.
I re along with Trey McDaniel and Trey, we take a look, if this football game here tonight one players having the time of his life and he's a half away from taking the big.
Big title back to Clayton County mr. Fuller number 30, take us through.
Yeah.
Jean Fuller's had the game of his life Gill, as has the entire Lovejoy defense.
They've really come to play tonight.
We wondered how they would do matching up against Alvin Kamara, one of the best running backs in the state of Georgia.
And they've done a fantastic job.
Now he's gotten some yards but Eugene Fuller number, 30 Nate.
Norwood number 40, even sane Fields number seven and D Gates.
Number 38 have been all over the field tonight and they're going to have to throw the ball to keep the defense off of Alvin Kamara.
But right now, Joseph Wilbur.
Has no time to throw because Norwood number 40, in for number, 30 are in his face.
All the time, we take a look at the touchdown and boy, was it, exciting touchdown set it up for his big tray?
Well, custis is doing a good job, running the ball and that gets the key off of jamychal Ramos.
One of the most talented wide receivers in the state, but this play is all about the throw here by Alejandro Benefield.
Like I said, he normally puts the lot of air under the ball that time, he flatten it out a little bit, he couldn't have hit him more in stride.
Here, you see the stats time Possession hugely in favor of Norcross but no points to show for it.
The passing yards relatively EV or the rushing yards relatively even but look at the passing yards, 60 of those came on that.
So that lone touchdown by jamychal Ramos, the total yards Big Time Advantage for Lovejoy as well.
First downs, the advantages for Norcross, but as soon as they cross into Lovejoy territory, they stall out.
And a lot of penalties so far in this game 5 for 50 yards against Lovejoy, 24, 25 against Norcross.
Let's go downstairs to John Nelson who just talk moments ago with The head coach of the Norcross Blue Devils, who were trailing right now.
7-nothing Keith Maloof John and he basically said it's a four quarter game, the biggest stop that he wants to make is coming out here with this first possession third quarter.
He reminded the guys.
Hey, don't worry about everything we're doing fine.
Just pretty much, common them down.
Get on getting them, ready for the third and fourth quarter, but he highlighted, you want to talk underlying exclamation italicize?
This first stop, third quarter has to turn things our way back upstairs.
Okay, John.
Thank you.
Nice job.
Down there getting a coach of a loaf.
And the stats.
Say it all.
That's what we call.
Tracy McDaniel, the truth, your buddy called you the truth.
The truth?
Yes, no lied.
Today, they do not roof, 38.4 points per game coming in zero points tonight.
Neither offense, Gil has played a defense, the caliber that we're seeing tonight.
Norcross's defense has actually playing a great game themselves say for that.
60-yard touchdown.
This is one of those games Gil.
We thought it.
Might come down to the fourth quarter.
We always talk about when two evenly matched teams play.
We have not seen two more evenly matched teams in any broadcast.
We've done this year, that means it's going to come down to a mistake, by one of these teams, a turnover, a missed extra point, a fumble and interception, something a kick return, something along those lines is going to determine this football game and of course you got to look at Al Hughes, take a look at the banners here and all of us here at GPB when it's Holiday greeting, from our boss Telluride on down to you and yours happy holidays.
And we start this second half and Lovejoy will have the football and sliding over the 15 up to about the 17 yard line was Brandon Davis.
And the Wildcats leaving seven, nothing will take over first and 10 at their old 17, wouldn't think Brandon Davis would get many opportunities to return a kick, and he did right there.
The coverage was good for Norcross, it's time.
Now for them to tighten up exactly like coach Maloof told Jon Nelson.
This is a very key possession for both teams not until you see his numbers.
Five of eleven, 117 yards, a big touchdown to Michael Ramos that went 60 and its customers.
Ornaments Direction, gets over the 17, but he's pushed back.
A loss of possibly one.
Maybe more depends on the spot.
We got back to the line of scrimmage.
Tray is not customized numbers.
Right now, nine carries 59 yards, rushing on the ground at add one.
More 10 is in double digits in terms of carry, since 57 yards second and 11, the empty set Benefield, looking long for jamychal, Ramos again, and he'll eat for it.
And it falls incomplete.
Midfield and defending on the play.
Was Jaquan Simkins kill.
This is the play, they scored the touchdown on.
It's good coverage by Simkins.
He doesn't allow Ramos to get by him this time and he goes up and makes a nice play on the ball.
Ramos, very hard to defend us 64, but Simkins at 59 goes up times it well and knocks it down, third and 11.
They have Ramos and Murphy to the near side.
Big, quite here by the Norcross defense, Gil, Daxton at the top of your screen custis and the backfield with Benefield, be the full first time tonight.
They forced a three and out.
If they can stop them on a field in a pocket Under Pressure, the ball slapped loose and the rush was coming big time and they're still fighting for that football.
Gil.
Malcolm Jackson the left guard, jumped on the ball, but I think it squirted out from underneath number 72 because he's up off the ground now and they're going to Signal koe, no nails with Lorenzo Carter.
See, number 72 there, and it looked like it might have scored it out once again, but there was a wildcat in the area and they'll maintain possession.
But even though they weren't able to come up with the football here, Norcross, for the first time forces, a three and out, they should get tremendous field position after the punt.
Malcolm Jackson was on at noon, as will point out of his end zone, and this will be a short kick and it's gonna take a Norcross bounce.
And the Blue Devils are going to have a short field of work with.
They'll start it at their own 4141 of Lovejoy.
The 32 yard punt Trey coach Maloof could not have drawn it up, any better, your defense gets a three and out.
They stop consecutive run plays and then they have a strip of Alejandra Benefield on third down and long.
They haven't been able to do that tonight.
And now their offense is set up first down and ten inside Lovejoy territory, and they're going to come out first.
In the Wildcat Gil.
Who's team 10?
Out of the wall cap to the near side and sweep it around.
The edge is Kimora.
And he's down inside the 40 down to about 2:38 now.
Gil, we had the privilege of calling the Norcross South Gwinnett game in the playoffs a few weeks ago in Norcross, kind of toyed around with the Comets, in the first half, then they came out in the second half and decided just to run right at South Gwinnett.
They ran it down their throat, and won that game.
They're going to have a difficult time, running down the throat of this defense.
I do think they're going to have to sprinkle in the past if they want to have success, but it looks like they're going to run straight at them.
They continue to be in the Wildcat second and seven, that's it.
Some are calls his own numbers pushes forward head, down gets close to the 35 and it depends on the spot.
And on the stop Mike Davis, among those there made Norwood was there too.
Nate Norwood has been virtually unblockable this season and its continued into the championship game.
He's always the guy seemingly making first Contact, it's not often in the Wildcat that Kimura can't pick up more than two or three yards of carry, but that's the case tonight and they have to get out of the Wildcat on third down and bring Wilbur back in.
Wilbur out of the shotgun facing a 3rd and 5 at the 36 quarterback.
Keeper Straight Ahead, big holes stumbles and gets down to the 25 and it'll be a touchdown for the Blue Devils.
Chris Ellis on the stock.
Brilliant, call, on third down, we mentioned Joseph Wilbur came into this game with less than 200 yards.
Rushing on the season here, it's just your typical quarterback draw.
Again, neutralizing, the upfield pass rush and look like it was an obvious passing down.
In company blew right past Wilbur and he had a scene and picked up a big first.
Down the biggest first down of the game for Norcross gain of 10 at the 26.
Long back behind Wilbur has come, are the Man in Motion coming to the near side, that is Kamara, stumbling and bumbling, and getting down close to the 20 yard line down to about the 21, Darrell Brown on a stop and Fuller.
Also there to make the hit.
For Lovejoy.
Travis, gusterson, Alvin Kamara earning every yard tonight.
Kamara got into the second level, but it's a different story tonight because when you get into the second level against the Wildcats, it's Eugene Fuller, and D Gates, and it's been kind of a stalemate tonight when it's number six against number 30 and it was right there.
Come on, 22 carries.
69 yards to pick up a 5.
We'll set it up second and five at the 21 of Lovejoy.
7-nothing, Wildcats early third.
Out of the wok cut and they're going to do some end around some trickery open field and getting close down in a fumble a fumble at the 5-yard line and Lovejoy recovers.
It looks like they had Clinton Lynch coming around on the end around and he copped it up and put it on the carpet and Lovejoy recovered since huge kill.
They had the blocking outside here.
You see him for the first time tonight go misdirection they're keying on Kamara, they pitch it, back the other direction.
To Lynch and a big hit there by Brandon Davis in the strong safety Tyrell, Brown is in the area.
He's not able to scoop it up on the first attempt, but he is on the second from our vantage point, it looked like Lynch might be able to score right here and it's another big hit delivered by the Wildcat defense and a turnover Gil.
We talked about the little things matter.
This is the first big play of the game.
What is DJ Chef Tsai had on ball.
Causes the fumble and there it was and it was loose and it's Lovejoy.
Straight ahead.
It's custis.
And he pushes the pile close to the 10 and he's brought down at about the eight.
I was the first game changing play on defense.
We've seen we've seen tremendous defensive play, but that's a game changer right there because across forces, a three and out, their offense drives down the field.
Thanks to the Wilbur quarterback draw and just, when you think they're going to score the defense for Lovejoy steps up, just like they have all year.
They've only given up an average of nine points, a game, and so far, they're flanking, one of the most dynamic offenses in the state.
You get it.
Get brown.
The Banneker transfer going great things for our huge right now, second and seven.
Play fake Benefield up in the air, and that ball is kicked off.
And it looked like it was Jordan old, and he's still working football.
2520 open field inside the 15.
And the roller coaster continues, a huge turnover by the Norcross offense, and then a turnover on the very next play.
By the Lovejoy offense.
That looked like they were trying to get down the sideline at your Michael Ramos again.
Benefield not on the same page, he throws it up for grabs and an iced over the shoulder catch made by noil the free safety and pretty Dandy run after the catch as well, to set up Norcross about where they were when they went off the field.
After the last turnover, 26 -yard return after the int First antenna at the 14th.
Straight ahead and pushing its way inside the 10 down to the 5 is Kamara.
He'll sometimes a play on defense.
Can energize your offense, watch The Authority with which Alvin Kamara runs this football, unlike any carry, he's had so far tonight, the Blue Devils, gone Tempo, no-huddle second and goal at the 6.
What's the tennis crap?
They force the timeout by Lovejoy, Lovejoy was on their heels Gil.
After going on that roller coaster ride huge swing of emotions after getting the turnover.
Then, you turn the ball over.
And just, when you think Norcross is about to score Lovejoy, says we have to call time out here and catch our breath.
Let's take a look at this season schedule for the Blue Devils.
This is what the resume look like the body of work to get them here and you see a lot of double use their guilt.
We mentioned it at the top of the broadcast the lone undefeated team left in the 68.
Classification, the default number one because of that going up against a Lovejoy team that's just lost one game.
Gil, they got beat by Colquitt, County 6:46 early, in the season.
And then look at this, you can see one thing by this schedule.
Gill, and that's their defense.
Look at the shutouts here.
One, two, three, four and five games right there in the middle of the season.
They went into the playoffs on a hot streak of never looked back including scoring.
63 against North Cobb last week in the semis.
And those two doc had said, two common opponents and Colquitt County and North Gwinnett.
Suck it into before the timeout.
They had come out in an I formation Gill and they're going to do the same thing.
Right here, big boy football, inside the 10.
You like it that way.
7 nothing Lovejoy but threatening isn't Blue Devils and they swallow up tomorrow a loss of a couple.
Chris Christian, all the tackle Chris Christian and defensive tackle a junior number.
55 watch him penetration here and he just like a heat-seeking missile targets.
Kamara.
Kamara gets off the turf and Taps him on the hell, but it says, good job.
I'll get you next time.
A loss of two, making it making it.
Third and four at the eight come are right now.
22 carries 75 yards, outstanding numbers, crunched by our great statistician, Kevin Barnes.
This will be the most interesting play Call of the night on Third and five in the Red Zone.
Full House backfield in the red zone at the 8th and we have a stoppage of play.
And the referees is stepping in tray.
The Lion King gets our offense boy.
That one hurts.
You got the third down and five at the 9 yard line, call it the 8 yard line.
Now this will back them all the way up near the 15-yard line and now you almost have to pass the ball or maybe even go something else misdirection Wilbur hasn't had a lot of time tonight to throw the ball.
He has had Alvin Kamara wide open on.
One of two screen, passes and Kamara, dropped at the other one was sniffed out by Lovejoy.
Let's see, if they try to catch him.
Guard the best way to go up against this defense.
Kill is to let their upfield pass rush.
Run them right out of the play.
The ball smack dab over 13.
They need to get to for for a first and goal liver launch that and it falls incomplete at about the 5-yard line and Wilbur got mailed somewhere in the groin area and went down in pain.
That's a tough kid right there.
Guilt.
He got riled right back up off the turf.
No flag.
It was a legal hit.
This will be a good shot of it right here.
If he got absolutely nailed and driven into the turf and incomplete pass and they're going to try to get on the scoreboard here.
Gil with a field goal attempt.
Second big hit on him tonight.
We saw in earlier where he's hit smack the ground.
I kick up 31 from a food, the kick is up and it is book.
So it's the Blue Devils are get on the board.
They come with it, 45 47 and a third 73, Lovejoy, over Norcross, we got a good here in Atlanta will be right back.
They don't give out participation trophies, not in this league.
Nobody throws ticker-tape.
Thanks for trying, parades locker, rooms are not draped in plastic and champagne.
Bottles are not Uncorked for having winning seasons.
Even four of them in a row and you know what?
That's just the way we like it.
Back here in the Georgia Dome, my food with the field goal of 31 yards, to make it 7-3 Lovejoy.
Now with a four-point lead for plays a yard the elapsed time a minute 21.
You know, did you know GPB has a Facebook page and check us out.
Like us be part of the GPB Sports Nation see behind the scenes of today's games.
Grace Olson has been very active here tonight and we'll be interviewing the fans parents cheerleaders and who knows you may be the lucky ones like us and you know you will be in the know about everything High School sports and more and we're on a campaign right now to get a whole lot of likes.
How many trips?
Yeah, we needed 700 during halftime, we were Hundred shy of the 3000 like Mark Grace Olson, efforting to get that 3000 Mark before the end of this game.
Bingham kicks.
It high at taking it at his own 10 and hurdling and still on his feet.
But he got crushed at the 30 -yard line was Davis.
Brandon Davis took a hit for the team, didn't he?
He sure could five nine hundred and seventy pounds.
It took all 170 of those pounds.
Take a look at his feet after the initial hit, and then there was a second third and fourth wave.
Look at the wedge.
Foreman tries to get in between it.
Nice hurdle job, but he's going to get spec, Great Dane.
I mean, it's not met your the collective from the crowd after that.
That's what kind of game.
It's been Lovejoy First and Ten at the 31, sweeping around and found sit on the outside, but it gets swallowed up.
Lorenzo cutter there to get customers than it.
Took him back a loss of Man, Lorenzo Carter.
We've only called his name, one other time tonight.
You see his counterpart right there?
Number 48, Kevin Mohan.
Those two guys have played.
Excellent tonight.
One of the best upfield pass rushers in the state.
He's just a junior ton of offers from this young man that list right there tells you what kind of player he is and he'll be one of those guys that we see on GPB next season.
Yes, met his mama after the game, she's proud of her son.
Sun.
And they believe their whole family believes in academics Butterfield loads up and has a receiver at the 40 -yard line but it falls incomplete that look like it was Ramos.
It was Ramos Guild.
That was very reminiscent of the first quarter.
When Alejandro Benefield had no time to throw, they were able to get a conventional pass rush without polluting.
It was Jamarcus Conley number, 61 the senior, They don't just rated the pass rush there to set up a third down, and long now, for Benefield and obvious, passing situation for him.
And so far tonight on third down and long of number 51.
And number 48 for Norcross of Blitz.
Every time on Third and long.
Let's see if they do that and leave the middle of the field.
Open again, the empty package to to the near side.
32 top of your screen benefits going to roll and a sliding catch at the 40-yard line made by Davis.
That's the Davis package.
And the referee is signaling that preliminary indications.
He caught it, they're going to give Jeff Murphy the catch here, Gil, he slid down.
It looked like he might have been assisted by the turf but the line judge came in and gave him the catch.
And it's going to be fourth down in one.
The yard marker says first down, but it's 4th down in one right here and they're going to go ahead and Punt and stay conservative.
I don't disagree with this at all huh?
Nunez?
Who handles the kicking tutors but punny and place-kicking.
Booms to punt backtracking and taking it right there at about the 23-yard line was Aikens.
John Nelson.
Hello?
You see Joseph gelber checking back into the game guys.
This is one of the most odd treatments on the sidelines that I've ever heard of on that last series when he got the pressure and got hit in the back and ended up falling.
Shoelaces grown.
So what they had to do is basically take that ankle on the right hand side to cover up.
The fact that he doesn't have shoelaces on there.
Any more to prevent any kind of flat tires, it'll be interesting to see how it affects that Mobility.
You know, you got this to knocked out of you.
When your shoelaces break the could have got creative, right?
John little, NASCAR reference.
Well, the edge and moving, close to the 30 yard line was Kimura.
Look at that, huh?
Did you ever get your Your cleats tape like that when you had a sham out points around them to hold them together but my shoelaces never broke the Blue Devils with their hurry up facing second and four backs in and I enough of out.
It's loose and Lovejoy is indicating.
They have it, do they?
Yes.
Guilt was Mom, Trail custis was just hanging out in the defensive backfield and he looked down in the ball.
Was there?
Alvin Kamara, got a hat on the ball and more scary.
Right now for Lovejoy Gil, is that number 14?
8 Norwood, is coming off the field but take a look at the replay here, like you just mentioned it Gil hat on ball, Montreux custis.
The free safeties been playing well tonight.
Cousin of Travis custis in the right place at the right time and look like just a bad exchange boy.
Oh boy, oh boy man.
That's costly Guild.
Because you just drove down the field and got a field goal, right?
Which was set up by the Jordan oil interception.
They exchanged turnovers on the previous two possessions.
And now, Lovejoy has great field position III, great field position and we're going to get a pi.
Cuz there was contact it look like from the back judge sort of contact between Jackson.
They're going to discuss guilt.
They could almost call Jackson for offensive pass interference but they don't they get the defense here that one could have gone either way.
Okay, Jackson was scrapping down the sideline but the defender wasn't really making a play on the ball and that's probably what drew the flag.
Watch him pawing at each other down the sideline here, 15-yard penalty.
Yeah, that's a very good call Gil.
That was number four, Jaquan Simpkins who's played pretty well tonight.
The Jackson was it?
Distinct size advantage and benefit taking advantage of it.
That's a great point.
And Gil what happened was he just kind of pushed him off of his Mark out of bounds and impeded his ability to go get the ball.
And his head was not around looking for the ball and so he drew the flag, it's legit call.
Jeff Murphy is why top of your screen and up the bottom of your screen is Ramos.
Benefield.
It's gonna give to customers and he gets no game.
They swallow them up and he met lost may have lost one.
Mohan was over there on the stop.
And Cole Kisner was in the neighborhood as well, that kids are does a great job here, good leverage on custis.
Again, the only way to bring these two talented backs down tonight, is to go down below the waist and kissed.
Her did a great job right there and you were right.
You'll it's a loss of about one and a half two yards on the play and that's what they need right here.
The momentum squarely in favor of the Wildcats Norcross need something good to happen.
While cats in the Red Zone.
Placing a second and 12 penafiel pass and less slant route and inside the 5 down to the For the past was complete that look like it was Ramos, it was in.
What a beautiful throw by Benefield having to go down to take a low snap.
You've got a Georgia Tech commit and Michael Ramos and the cow convince Shawn Hankins going mono e mono.
The past could not have been to been delivered more perfect and now it looks like Lovejoy is going to line up and play.
Big Boy football first and goal at the 5.
Single receiver.
You don't see that often from the Wildcats?
That's beneficial to give and stood up and spun around and going nowhere was custis and that's great.
Penetration by the Blue Devil defense, the line Surge and everybody.
They had a meet him at the summit.
Yeah.
That was Jamarcus Conley again.
He called his name just a few moments ago.
A loss of one, that'll make it second and six under two minutes to go in the third.
And we have a Dandy here in the Georgia Dome here tonight at stake, the 6A state championship, Benefield Murphy and motion lines up.
He's going to roll and a little can have a receiver.
That was fields in the back of the end zone at Falls incomplete.
Great play by the Norcross, secondary, Gil, we keep talking about About Zane Fields tonight but we keep talking about him as a defensive end as a tide in this year.
Gilly only has one catch for 34 yards, but it was a 34-yard touchdown.
They try to find him dragging across the back line of the end zone.
Benefield, throws it up and Fields tries to go up and get it.
But it's a nice pass break up there by the Northcross Defender.
That looks like Brandon Garner who returned a fumble for a touchdown last week on GPB makes a nice play right there as well.
There you go.
And then whenever Colquitt County and that was a big play they'll call it time.
I put the X Like pictures by our guys from GPB and Turner.
Having a Lovejoy resume, the pride of Clayton County tray and outstanding resume, yes.
Last year, the tough loss to the Tucker tigers and Frankie Stevens, and that Bunch the cap, their perfect season 6:38 adamantly.
Now the running up against a bus on Norcross and trying to ruin their perfect season and so far.
So good through almost three quarters they won the last three to six a region titles.
Gil.
That's not a tough region.
So a lot of people sleep on this team.
They are deserving of being here tonight through 2010 to 2012, 37 and three before that 19 and 32.
They've got a couple guys that have come through this program, including tashard choice.
But as of right now, Travis, custis, is the all-time leading rusher for this school.
Headed to Georgia, Tech as well.
Just like his buddy choice and Kevin Barnes handed me a very important stat right now, want you pass it on to our viewers, only one timeout now, that was the second time out.
I've taken here in the second half by Lovejoy, they're trying to regroup because they know how important to touch down here is Gil.
It's only a four point game that they managed to score a touchdown.
They're back up, third down and six.
It's a two possession game at that point.
Yes it is better yet third and goal empty set benefits but a lot of jump ball in the end zone has a receiver.
That is a touchdown and that is Davis.
The Brandon Davis package on the fade Route.
6 yards a touchdown Lovejoy, no Flags.
For a that was huge.
They cough it up and I made quick work of it.
They sure do Guild.
Brandon Davis caught what could have been an easy touchdown pass in the first quarter.
He makes up for it there on for the extra tribe will be Nunez.
The kick is up and it is good.
Look with a minute 34.
In the third, they can look at Alejandra Benefield.
Bob plays 33 yard Elapsed time I'm in at 57 brought to you by our good friends from tcsg, learn more and more.
He's a touchdown replay tray.
Brandon Davis when he comes in on offense, it's called the Brandon Davis package because they use them sparingly, because he gets so much work as a cornerback.
That's his fifth receiving touchdown of the year to go along Guild with five interception returns for a touchdown in to kick returns for a touchdown.
One of the most versatile players that this team in an unsung hero, just got a championship touchdown to go with his resume.
And it's his first catch of the game and can you say Multi-purpose.
That's right.
That fits into a t. Take a look at the scoring drive, five plays, we said it earlier 33 yards.
He elapsed time, time of possession, a minute 57 at Courtesy that fumble that set up a short field and the Wildcats were able to do a little something something with it.
You know, when you have two evenly matched teams like this, we keep talking about it, turnovers Loom.
So large in this football game, the only three points that Norcross has compliments of a Jordan oil interception.
That led to that field goal.
And now half the points that Lovejoy has are complements of an album Kamara fumbled turnovers, tell the story and most football games.
And tonight they're telling the story of this one, but keep in mind, Norcross had that great game down in Camden County.
They did, they were on the ropes.
Find themselves on the ropes.
Right now, the question is tree McDaniel, will they respond unions will Pooch it taken by one of the up man at the 30 and working his way and he is drug down close to the 35 yard line.
If on the coaching staff for Norcross, I tell my offense before they take the field guys, let's just calm down and do what we've done all year.
We've averaged 38 points a game, we've run through, one of the toughest regions in the state, we've had a pretty tough.
Schedule through the playoffs as well.
We're here for a reason let's do what we do and score some points and number 6.
And number 7 are going to be the two guys to lead the way.
They'll spot it at the 34 three wide, top of your screen 13-3 Lovejoy the pitch and bouncing on the outside and her doing a man and gets over the 40 up to the 41 and that's Alvin Kamara.
You think he wants to kill?
Yes my goodness very much Darrell Brown the last two inputs.
Sessions Alvin Kamara has been running with purpose, not that you didn't run with purpose in the first two quarters but man he wants that state championship, watch him go up and over Brandon Davis.
The guy that just scored the touchdown for the Wildcats a gain of six second and four under a minute.
Up Up and Away Steve Brant, a man for this team.
So cool this season.
It's very fitting that he makes that move out of the shotgun.
And that was the Eugene Fuller on this stop.
And that was Wilbur on the keeper.
Yeah, you don't say that.
Six seconds to go try a beautiful option.
By Joseph Wilbur.
Very often we talked about him, not having the best size in the world at 6-foot 173 pounds.
He's done a lot more with his legs tonight than I expected him to.
But he's been a nice change of pace and Gil.
How much do they miss Mi?
Audrey, not being on the field like that added Dynamic that underneath passing game that he is.
So, Famous for not having that right now allows the Wildcats to really key on number 6, and it's hurting them right now.
Give out of the eye, McWilliams the up back, but to give us the Kamara and he goes nowhere and Chris Ellis, I mean we've talked about Fuller, but Chris Ellis has had a big night to.
We've come to the end of the third quarter.
And as we've done all season long, tray McDaniel, said flash.
Those four fingers in front of your TV set.
We're going to the fourth Lovejoy on their way to bringing a title.
Back to cling County, will be Right back from the Georgia Dome after this.

Now Nationwide about 7,000 students drop out of high school every day about one -third of Georgia, high school students drop out a high school.
Dropout earns two hundred and sixty thousand dollars less than a high school.
Graduate dropouts.
Make up nearly half the heads of households on welfare.
Dropouts command, about 75 percent of crimes, in America, out of 50 states, Georgia ranks, number 41, and Graduation rates with only 67 percent, completing High School, stop the job.
Coming this march to GPB are the GHSA Basketball Championships is live from the Macon Coliseum.
And the Macon centerplex read full days of high school Hoops.
Showcasing the best girls.
And boys high school teams from the great state of Georgia.
All day coverage, March 7th, through the 9th on Georgia, public broadcasting ghs, a state football championship weekend, own GPB Start of the fourth under the big top, the Georgia Dome 14-3 love Juliet in front of Norcross has split screen.
You see on the left I'll Hughes and all the right Keith Maloof both of these men in search of that elusive First State title.
And right now, I'll Hughes has a beat on it.
Take a look at the last five playoff appearances tray.
Yeah, Norcross has had an awful.
Hard time getting past the second round Lovejoy.
Made it all the way to the finals.
Last Here in the, for a classification.
And lost to Tucker and Gil.
I think that's what's provided the Boost tonight because coach, who's told us on the phone, that they were a little, in all the Georgia Dome in this venue last year, and the good news is, he had so many young players, they're all back this year, so he gets to go through this experience of second time.
They're not in all of the moment at all tonight and they're shown it Tommy tape booms.
It'll take a Norcross rolling settle inside the 10.
In down to about the eighth upon of 48 yards.
Sure your thoughts as we go into the fourth.
I don't think this game is over at all, but I think norcross's defense needs to do what they did to start the third quarter and they need to force a three and out or at least get off the field relatively quickly and give the ball back to their offense.
Joseph, Wilbur not being able to pass the ball when he's needed to not his fault because of the upfield pass rush by the Wildcats has been the story in this football game and I keep going back to it.
Miss miles Audrey.
Guilt on the young man on those underneath routes and those screen passes to take the heat off, a Kimura is so important and right now they don't have that.
Benefield to custis.
Pushes this way close to the 15.
They brought him down at about the 13.
A gain of three, that'll make it second and seven 11:33.
You'll I believe that coach uses going to try to run the ball here and keep the clock running.
It's a question of whether he can do that because the front for and I'll include the front six.
If you put Mohan and Tate in the mix for Norcross has defense are very very talented in their own, right?
They're going to do everything they can to prevent that you sell customers, his numbers have 15 cars, approaching the 60 yard Mark gets it again, stumbles and faxes.
Way over the 15 to about the 17.
Dre.
I got that cutback in just a few years ago bro.
That's right.
All we need is to pick.
Yeah there you go.
Humming you don't huge, third down here.
This is reminiscent of the first possession of the third quarter for not only the Wildcat offense, but the Norcross defense.
They got to tighten up right here.
You have no idea what's coming because of all the weapons, they could throw it to me.
Ramos, they could throw it to a Jackson to split out wide to the left and of course you got custis back there in the pistol formation Benefield.
Have stocked up for no gain and a loss of a couple.
Was custis.
They had Jonathan Griffin is the lead back, but the line just blew it up and nowhere to go.
Nowhere to hide Kyrie lie.
Number 90 he gets off of his locker and makes a tremendous hit on custis.
I'm a little surprised that Hughes decided to go conservative right there but I understand why he did and the defense for Norcross steps up they should get the ball back in.
Good field position last time they had good field position.
Gil.
They turned it over.
Nunez will stand.
It is only one.
Gets it off and the backtracking and taking the football at his own 45 and going down close to the 40 yard line was aching and upon of 34.
That's not a good sign Aikens.
They need him as a cornerback and he went down and grabbed his knee.
They're going to call Jordan oil.
Gill with a block in the back here on what was a good return by Aikens?
Well, stuff like that.
A killer it does it kills you you're going to have decent field position, anyway, but you were about to start inside.
Cat territory but number 13, can't hold up.
Right here.
You got a great shot on the left side of your screen right there.
That is a legit Block in the back.
That will nullify a decent return.
All of your goals are still in front of you, though, if you're the Norcross offense, they have been unable to really establish, any run or pass game.
Guild their deadly with the play-action pass if the Run game is working.
But the Run game.
Although they've had success in spurts, hasn't been successful enough of them to go to the well there and run those plates.
A action passes down to Trey Smith and Clinton Lynch under 10 to go 9:39 to be exact the Blue Devils taking over First and Ten at their own 40.
They Trail 2:46 surpass razzle-dazzle come, are lining up looking for his man and that is when she stumbles his way forward inside the 25 down to about 220 for first down now, Guild Alvin Kamara of y'all can throw the ball a little bit.
He lined up and threw a touchdown pass against Camden County to Trey Smith this time.
He goes down deep in a wonderful move to the just your body in the air for Clinton Lynch and come down with what is now, the biggest play of the game so far for Norcross, first down and 10 at the 26 again of 30.
Hey Lionel inch to The Far Side.
And Trey Smith, bottom of your screen.
That's Kamara.
Bouncing off the edge 2520, push that close to about the 19 yard line.
And among those over there were white head.
Darrell Brown was in the neighborhood as well and Elmo Lee crew Personnel.
So that tells you he got to the second level.
Watch number 21, Montreal custis, had a good game.
Normally he's making the tackle for loss right there but not so when you're going up against Alvin Kamara, there's a reason why Bama UGA are fighting for his Services.
Next year, his speed is what picked up those three yards right there because he was dead to rights in the backfield and We're going to the mix to that's the second back through.
That's come on, he's spinning his way, but he gets stood up and push back.
I'd look like gates, the gates on the stuff.
Keep an eye on your clock and keep an eye on the fact that trade just told you.
As we went into the fourth period that Lovejoy only has one timeout, timeout.
This was a big play in the game right here, third down and a long six yards, they do not want another field goal.
They cannot win this game, kicking field goals.
If they do not pick up the first down this play I look for him to go for it on Fourth, third and six at the 20 1832 to go forth.
Three Lovejoy, Lovejoy leading, but the Blue Devils have threatening the Man in Motion is Lynch were backing up as a man in space, and he caught it after the tip, and that was Trey Smith.
Trey Smith.
They had it look like Trey Frances in the neighborhood to and they kind of played ping-pong with it, just like you drew it up.
Mistake, Francis tips it up in the air and Trey Smith catches, it need are near scored.
If the ref hadn't gotten in his way, he gets the assist on the tackle.
That's a first down the side and Francis 13 mr. Gray-smith, big play, Big first down high snap, fade route In The End Zone.
It is a touchdown know they had Trey Smith one-on- one.
What the defender beat in Whitehead.
Incomplete, they'll try again.
Whitehead did a great job from his cornerback position but it looked like Trey Smith went up and got the ball at his highest point.
This jump ball inside the red zone is become a very in Vogue thing, not only in the pros, but in high school football and among the best in the state is Trey Smith at 511 175 pounds.
He's got 10 touchdown catches on the year and he almost had 11 great camera work by our guys, who are doing an outstanding job here tonight, three wide To the near.
Second and ten at the 13 High snap clear sailing is Wilbur.
He gets down to about the 10 -yard line, but a great play by Eugene, Fuller, Gil.
Remember earlier in the game, they had a big third down right before they turned it over.
And Joseph Wilbur, ran the quarterback draw.
They run it again here and Wilbur says, no sir as he closes in and brings him down, he had his eyes on the first down, marker and Fuller, just closing speed has been tremendous to And the tackling by the Lovejoy of Wildcat defense has been spectacular as well.
Third in ate half the 11, Snap Wilbur stands in the pocket.
Has a receiver on the slant, that's gonna be up to 11 yards for the score.
It's altering, not Smiles, Autry touchdown, Norcross kill Jon Nelson.
Said, he didn't think he was coming back in the game and I didn't think he was either, but they needed him and he stepped up when they needed him and hopefully miles.
Audrey can make that move.
That's why they missed him.
And boy, they're glad to have that young man back.
They line them up in the slot and he kind of got lost in the middle, but Wilbur found them.
Demos at all eyes for the End Zone.
In a touchdown, the most deadly player in the open field.
Wearing gray tonight has been on the bench for the majority of the night when his team needed him in the championship game.
A big third down, watch him sidestep the defender.
Like he's normally does on punt returns Gil and look at Wilbur for the first time tonight.
He delivers a pass.
He doesn't have to get up off his rear end to celebrate.
This is why this Junior's going to be at the head of the class for 2014.
Look at that.
Who's who Jason number?
Five, get and greater ease and wide Jon Nelson.
You know what why didn't you tell us before he was coming in?
Huh?
Well, once again, we talked about how things are he's cleared, and they're going to hold him back.
Those were miles Autry's words to me, they're holding me back.
And they're going for 2 to Derek 23 and he just got a fist pump from his doctor as well on the sidelines there.
14:9.
The toss coming back will be on their way to go over and it falls incomplete.
So the two-point conversion, fails, it remains 14:9.
But Keith Malone said hanging in there with 767 17 ago in the fourth period.
14 and 9 are scoring folks.
We got a Dandy here tonight as we approach.

Back here in the Georgia Dome.
This 6A State title on the line.
Lovejoy's lead has been cut to five at fourteen nine, seven, plays 40 yards, the elapsed time, 2 minutes and 22 seconds.
You get a look at the Lovejoy sideline, across the way.
The Norcross, Blue Devils.
Tcsg learn more and more.
The scoring drive again seven.
Plays 40 yards, time of possession, two minutes and twenty-two tray kill.
We had just said, just a few minutes ago, how costly it was not to have number 5 in the lineup for Norcross that added dimension of an open field.
Runner a guy that can break tackles in space and no sooner.
Did we say that the biggest third down of the game he comes in and scores.
The biggest touchdown of the game so far, but they're still down by five because of the two-point conversion.
So now once again, as they have all night, On Norcross looks to their defense.
To try to hem in a very, very talented.
Wildcat offense that kept it very conservative on their last possession, I look for him to open it up a bit more here.
All right.
And keep far the viewing audience apprised of the timeout situation.
Right now, Norcross has to Lovejoy, just the single time out.
If we get down in a one -possession game and it's a few minutes to go in the game.
Lovejoy is going to wish they had those couple timeouts back.
But right now, they're not worried about the timeout situation.
They're worried about their offense getting on the field and doing something, preferably for Coach who's ending in points.
Blake Bingham or kickoff.
That is on 40.
Auntie bones a deep and taking it at his own to that looks like it's Davis lipslides and Spins his way close to the 20 yard line L Market at about the 18.
So Benefield take a look at Alejandro and his lovely mom, joined us at halftime knows her son to a tee Dungey trashy, sure numbers right now.
8 of 18.
I like the one where she said he doesn't.
Like to do dishes anyway now who does like a few dishes?
I support that 149 yards to TD's the int trade.
What do they do?
Let's take the end of mine a values.
Well if I'm out Hughes, I came out on my last possession and did three straight runs and punted.
So here I wouldn't be surprised.
You want to get the ball in number 22 his hand but I wouldn't be surprised to see him maybe throw it on first or second down either.
All right and then you see movement and of course the offensive coordinator for the Wildcats Craig.
Patton.
Yeah, Montel Robinson, the right tackle, jumped offsides there.
Don't like that because he coaches the offensive line.
There he is.
And after the good kit coverage by Norcross, they were already pinned down deep and now that certainly doesn't help the cause and that makes their offense a little bit more predictable.
Now they'll almost certainly have to pass the ball at some point.
And the next couple of downs and that favors the Norcross defense Griffin in motion.
That's beneficial to Custer.
Bounce along the outside gets maybe one up to about 215 Fraser on the stop.
For no across.
Take a look at these numbers.
And again, the truth, your nickname, the truth.
Thank you, buddy on Facebook.
Look at that second half brushing Arch Lovejoy, 50 Norcross 110.
That's a little bit more like at the stat.
We showed earlier was that they were being goose egg after having average 35 or scuse me 38.5 points per game.
Now the stats starting to favor Norcross a little bit more in their defense.
The last two possessions is playing out of their mind.
A great Tackle by Frazier on the last play.
Benefield backs up loads up and has Remo.
Close to the 20 Tommy tape pushed him out of bounds and you don't have to be a rocket scientist to realize.
It Ramos is going to be looming, large big because they have that size advantage and that's why you saw tape dropping back to take them because he is owned, no, across secondary and give him a whole lot of problems here tonight.
Yeah, they featured him in this offense and it's rare to see a middle linebacker like Tommy take making a play out there in space, but that was a big one.
This is an even bigger play right here, third down and long.
Along with right 39 at these specific.
It's might be at the top of your screen, 6 2249.
Lovejoy might be a Jackson territory.
It look like that little Murphy or correct me.
That was Davis.
That was Davis and you got upended about at the 25-yard line of spotted about at the 25 closer to the 26, Frazier on the stop.
So they're going to have to punt it.
Yeah.
Number lock, at number 45, Jaquan Fraser, the linebacker for Norcross had a great Series right there, a tackle for loss, and then he just saved the first down, and they forced a punt on back-to-back possessions, and their offense will get the ball.
Back and what looks to be pretty decent field position.
I mean Nunez at the 11th booming it back and Aikens will take it at his 35 year old bumps into his own man, and he's going to get swallowed up.
A 41-yard punt by Nunez.
Tre that man.
You see right there Keith Maloof has talked about this moment, tell our viewers out there exactly what that moment is.
Well Gil, he's been coaching for 28 years and we asked him a couple weeks ago, how it was to make it to your first championship and he said, you know what, I've been to the championship game in my mind for 28 years and now I finally get to live it out.
We talked to the top of our broadcast about why it's so special to coach Maloof to not just get here but to perhaps win a title, his dad 11 and 9 Team 68 with st. Pius, right.
It's a coaching family, his brother coach for Everett tequila and now he has a chance to be in the same company as his dad, he passed away a few years ago, it'd be quite an honor.
If he could do it in his two classmates that same class of already fed and standard and Dudley.
The pass is complete to that man again Miles, Autry, and it's close to Midfield and it's a first down no across in the Blue Devils.
Have a drive in them.
I can't say it.
Enough Gil, this offense is completely different with Miles, Autry, They can come out then Gil and throw the ball on first down.
They do not normally throw the ball on first down because Kamara such a talented back and he picks up yards 562 the time, but they go two miles on tree right there.
If he remains in this game and is healthy enough to go for the last 5 minutes of this game, that could change everything for the Norcross Blue Devils very wide.
At your top of your screen, 49 Lovejoy holding on to a five-point lead.
They have a man in motion and Wilbur is snowing.
And looking for man, but he gets nobody.
Being Robinson, 64 to 220 pounds of senior, with swallowing up, that's a very aggressive tackle.
He led with the forearm, we talked about Dick, Butkus earlier, that looked a little bit like Dick Butkus.
And Beyond Robinson, has to be careful because he gave Wilbur a little shove after the whistle.
He doesn't want to get a 15 -yard penalty, would be very costly here down within five minutes of a state championship game in the fourth quarter.
Whole also for second and 14 3, W top of your screen.
The Man in Motion coming to the knee.
Side, Rober under pressure, and loads up in a ball in the right flat.
They had somebody over there and it looked like it was either kymaro, a tree and it falls incomplete.
And the pressure coming off the edge, that's Robinson again, side.
And I made little, is Norwood, and they're trying to get it to Autry outside.
It was good coverage in the ball fall.
Well, fell well short because Wilbur had to backpedal before releasing The football 6 of 14, 33 yards, a touchdown for Wilbur, Autry to catches 21 yards and of course a touchdown.
He's had an immediate impact for 36 and counting down.
That's a fast movement fall.
Start, you saw it at the bottom of your screen and it looked like that was Trent Jenkins.
It was the culprit.
Well obviously on Third and long Gill they're going to pass and he was Practice, get a two points, Nat stance of your family.
He just rocked back before the snap Gil.
Something to can't have in this situation.
It was already going to be an uphill battle third down and long announced third down and even longer Trent Jenkins.
One of the 60 Juniors on this football team.
120 total, you see the penalties right now?
120 players, 60 Juniors, 40 sophomores 120.
You do the math.
This team Norcross is going to be back for quite a long time, third and long, 19 to be exact for 35 to go go across with two timeouts Lovejoy with one.
They dial up Kamara, any Hatchet?
He's at the 25 2015, a footrace.
He's a text.
He'll take a look at our tcsg replay.
Learn more earn more.
Finally.
Wilbur has time.
He delivers a perfect pass.
I cannot overstate what a great catch that was because there were a lot of hands up in the air blocking his View.
And he beats Beyond Robertson down the sideline.
When you're behind Alvin Kamara, you stay behind Alvin Kamara.
His speed did the rest of the work and His Hands.
Started it off the best pass of the night from Wilbert and all of the sudden Norcross has the lead just like that.
The big play.
Wilbur to Kamara.
The ball came out of nowhere trans.
He went streaking down the sidelines.
Take a look at this again, Watch Wilbur, he's got time and what a perfect pass.
You have the safety come up and go for the ball.
That was a mistake.
I think tomorrow would have caught it anyway but you would have had a chance to cut off his angle and prevent him from getting in the end zone and watch Wilbur.
He fought in battled and scratched and clawed for three quarters and he comes out.
The fourth quarter and shows you why he's the leader of this team and he's thrown two touchdown passes.
Do you think that come our family Liberia's watching us now on the world wide web and Gone?
Bananas are no uncas.
They're on their phone bill just like we are Gil.
What a nice death.
And they're going to line up and go for two.
1514 right now trying to go up by three Gil.
Snap the pitch and Diving for the End Zone.
We have a flag on the play.
Let's check it out.
They had come Orion Space.
Yeah, Caleb crumb.
The center for Norcross was up against Nate Norwood in the flag.
Got thrown right at those two guys feet.
Can't tell yet who the penalty was on and whether or not they'll have a second opportunity of the two-point.
Conversions that penalties a climb.
The point is no good.
So the two-point conversion fails Wilbur right now.
7 of 14, 91 yards, two touchdowns and one Autry.
And that gentlemen Alvin Kamara, we got a good.
And folks here fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a wild ride to the Finish, will be right back after this.

It sounds on grab that diploma season 3 of Downton Abbey premieres January, 6th only on GPB.
What a ballgame John Nelson.
Let's talk about momentum in the last two weeks of the Season.
You see Alvin Kamara right there.
Remember Norcross was in this back and forth before they put the pedal down to beat Camden.
So they've been in this situation before last week.
The same happened with Lovejoy before they put the pedal down to beat North Cobb.
So it's going to be interesting to see how Lovejoy responds now having to do this in a larger venue in something far more important than they were in last week.
Just Just to get here.
Let's see how the last 426 unfold.
It's a heavyweight brawl Bingham, taking it at the 11 is Davis.
Sweeping outside still on his feet and he falls forward at the 25 to about the 26.
How about that?
Timeout situation tray?
This is critical right now, they burned them early and it may come to bite him late.
Well, right now they don't have to worry about the time outs with 422, go Gil.
But if we get down inside a minute to go, that one timeout is going to have to be used in a very strategic manner maybe to set up a game -winning field goal.
So you got to make sure you don't do anything silly between now and then to burn that last remaining.
Time out the empty set Benefield running for his life and he throws it and a tightrope back.
That's Ramos he's plowing first down yardage and he stayed in bounds and did a tightrope act to keep that drive alive.
Benefield really bought him some time Gil.
It was Lorenzo Carter.
The junior defensive end that we Spotlight at number 25 providing inside pressure but since he takes an inside Russia Lane, he loses contain the balls almost picked off great Concentration there.
Take hits the ball and then Ramos gets one foot in bounds.
That's all you got to get in high school, pretty close.
But I think you did it.
The ref seem to agree big play by Ramos, a gain of Eight Second and eight benefit backing up looking long and have a streaking receiver that's Ramos.
And two Defenders double coverage and the ball Falls incomplete at about, the 25 yard line boy guilt.
They closed on him real quick.
Well Benefield didn't put quite enough air into the ball.
He's got Enough arm strength to really, let rainbows run under that, you see to Norcross Defenders.
Neither of them have their head around.
They could have called pass interference, but I love the fact that the officials are letting them play inside.
Five minutes in this game.
Brendan gaughan are among those two of their with help.
What are you doing tray Gil?
What you need two yards and you got Travis custis.
I give it to number 22, all day and twice on Sunday, third and short after 33, that's who they give.
He goes around the edge, don't think?
He got second effort, will not give get them there, but it will be in it appears.
It's going to be a measurement.
Boy, he was close to that stick.
Very close.
No, not even a measurement, Gil.
They're going to go ahead and call him a yard short.
Great job again.
Third consecutive defensive possession that the Blue Devils have shown up to play.
I still give it to customs here.
If I'm huge.
Well, if in a long yard 333 top of your screen, and the clock continues to tick down, this could change the game Gil.
This play could change the football game.
Benefield penetration and cussed it stopped.
Michael Marshall.
Kessler was there to look like it was a party.
53 Cole kissed her with the instant penetration.
That makes custis have to get off of his spot.
He wants to go off tackle there, then he has to break it outside and it goes right into the waiting arms of Lorenzo Carter, and it was all over then.
And now because you go for it on fourth down, which I agree with that call.
By the way.
Now a very, very high Norcross.
Offense has a one-point lead and Fantastic Field position and we're almost down inside three minutes in this game momentum for the first time tonight.
Squarely in favor of the Wildcat France to me the top of your screen.
Trey Smith at the bottom.
And they give was to that man.
Again mr. Kimura you got to get it in the hands of number 6.
Yep.
Now's the Time.
Big-time players like Alvin Kamara are such a luxury to have for a coaching staff when you have a lead late in a football game and it doesn't hurt to have phenomenal field position either.
Because Joseph, my food is a pretty decent field goal.
Kicker, if you're able to pick up a few more yards, you can go up by four points, the wrong faces of Lovejoy, tell.
Get.
All right.
Now, some concern as we approach the two-minute Mark 236 to be exact High snap.
And getting to the near hash what's Clinton Lynch Lovejoy?
That's a final timeout.
Take a look at the state championship Mantle when met County very much in the thick of it.
Yeah, Brookwood and Grayson, if won back-to-back titles Norcross trying to bring the third consecutive state championship at the highest classification fact of Gwinnett County, Buford already successful earlier this weekend.
In bringing one back on their own.
We've got an entire column devoted to the Wolves.
They have quite a program over there, but it's been a long lineage of state championships for Gwinnett County and teams currently.
Constituting region, 1.
How big would this be for the Maloof family here?
Tonight?
This would be absolutely huge if they win this game.
I expect coach Maloof to be very emotional, because you'll put himself in the same category with his dad, George.
And I think that means more to him than anything.
But that's the scene we have 2 minutes and 30 seconds to go in this game.
A big third down play Gil, where they're at?
On the field right now would be about a 45 to 46 yard field goal.
That's a little bit outside of Joseph Mobutu range.
So they need to pick up a few more yards.
If not a first down to try to pick up some more points in this game, I'd be very interested to see if they go for it on fourth down, if they don't make it right here, Tom out Norcross, Norcross burn said final timeout, They realized the magnitude of the next couple of plays Gill because if you don't make it right here but you pick up five or six yards.
You've got a decision to make.
Do you let Joseph my food come in and attempt a 40-yard ish field goal and try to go up by four points and force Lovejoy to have to have a touchdown with two minutes and 30 seconds to go in the football game or do you go for it on fourth down?
If you don't make it, you're really not giving up much in the way of field position, and you're still asking Lovejoy to drive the length of the field, Field and attempt.
What could be a game-winning field goal or a game-winning touchdown?
Let's set the same 15:14.
You take a look at Joseph, my food.
Four of five during the season.
During this run, I'm 63 and 78 Grampy 80s and he's improved that Mark here tonight.
Yeah, coach Maloof said he'd feel most comfortable with no food inside.
The 20-yard line, if they get inside the 20-yard line here, he'll do have a first down third, and eight, and they're going to run that weíll catch right out of the pistol and only edges.
Come on sweeping 25.
2015, push down a bath.
And that's a first down Norcross.
They've run that pistol all critical times this year and been able to successfully.
Get it done.
And you see it right there.
Kill James Keeling made a nice block on the edge and then Kamara, with the Fantastic body control to be able to tightrope down the sidelines for long enough to pick up the first down and move the sticks and now 2 minutes and 20 seconds to go in this football game Lovejoy.
Got no time outs, Gil, they can't stop the clock.
Come on 31, carats 108 yards right now, this pledge just drive for plays 62 yards and Tack on a couple more.
It'll make it 64.
The elapsed time of a minute to the sidelines of Lovejoy, tells the story, there's still time enough still time.
That's not quite the agony of defeat shot.
Gil, but for 3/4 Coach Hughes.
In the Wildcats controlled the pace of this game.
They made all of the big plays in this game and then all the sudden Miles, Autry comes in Off the Bench, we didn't think we'd see him with the knee injuries for as a big touchdown and all the sudden things turned up Aces for Norcross.
From that point we told you earlier, he was over.
100 yards, mr. Kumar, 32 and 111 and that big touchdown second and seven at the 10 facts in a tie.
Come on a downhill, straight ahead.
Pushes his way in the end zone and almost knocked over the rough and that may do it.
Do it pops down or across Alvin come on kill you get some excessive celebration penalty.
I normally fuss about that.
But you know what I would have drawn a penalty right there to D Gates couldn't stop him the official couldn't stop him.
Nobody can stop number six.
He had a 70 yard touchdown to give them the lead.
It's fitting that he seals the deal with a rushing touchdown, one of the best players Layers in the state might have just LED his team to their first ever state championship 11 yards the distance for that gentleman right now.
33 carries 122 yards and two touchdowns.
And he is a minute 33 from making history with this Norcross, Blue Devil football team.
And Kumar's football will not conclude here tonight.
He's headed down to the underarm herbal down in Florida and he'll play in that All-Star Game down there.
The exhaustion on number six right now being helped to the sidelines.
The scoring drive with tcsg learn more earn more 5 Plays 31 yards, time of possession and minute 43 tray.
Kill this young man is the best player on his football team.
Many consider to be the best running back in the state top.
Running back in the country.
His recruitment has taken on a life of its own but you can see the emotion right there.
Coach Maloof told us, he cares about one thing right now and that's win a state championship.
He told his teammate.
Joseph Wilbur, I'll worry about my recruitment after I win the title, the futon for the long.
Extra point at a mr. Tray, take us through the touchdown are great producer, Steve grammar, rack it up, and here's what we watch doing.
Our tcsg replay earn more learn more earn more.
He was not to be denied Gil.
He has not had a lot of easy yards tonight.
That was probably the easiest 11 yards.
He's had all night.
D Gates, couldn't bring him down.
You've officially couldn't bring him.
I'm not gonna give you the excessive celebration penalty, but Guild the missed extra point was big right there because it keeps it a seven-point game.
Now, if he would have made it, it still would have been a one possession game, but Lovejoy would have had to score a two-point conversion.
Have they scored a touchdown here?
If they're able to drive down the field with the minute 33, with no timeouts, all they would need is a touchdown in an extra point to send this game into overtime.
Wouldn't that be apropos, huh?
What we've seen tonight, we've had some everything.
We have six, a State title.
A game here in Georgia.
Wouldn't that be something that slipped up to the building?
We've had some blowouts this weekend.
Gil.
We thought this would be a heavyweight battle between two evenly matched teams and it certainly turned out to be that the seventh has taken us to seven heaven, huh.
It's about to take us into Sunday morning and most definitely back to 17 minutes away from striking midnight and a quick turnaround for the Georgia Dome has of work Crews got to get this thing ready for the Giants, the G-Man and the Falcons here tomorrow.
It's David, he has an open, he's on the outside.
He's at the 35, he's still gone.
Wait for his blockers.
Sheds them and he is brought down at about the North Cross.
47 yard line and Trey 46 yard return.
And what do you say?
Wait a minute, not so fast.
My friend is what Brandon Davis said?
He scored a pretty big touchdown of his own in the passing game earlier.
That we thought might have been the Difference Maker for Lovejoy and now he shows you, why he's such a deadly kick returner, he's returned to kicks for touchdowns already this year and darn near broke that one.
And now, with a minute 18 to go on the clock, they're set up and nobody throws.
The default like Benefield in the empty.
Set Benefield Under Pressure throws looking long, had a receiver down at about the 20 yard line and it falls incomplete.
Davis, was In the neighborhood.
Also, down there was Terry Henderson and it falls incomplete, Terry.
Henderson getting his first.
Look at the game, he tries to turn it into a jump ball.
Brandon Davis in the area, great play made there by strong safety, Brandon, Garner second time.
We've said he's made a nice play in pass coverage.
He's been hurt most of the year but has come on strong, the last two weeks and a fumble return for a touchdown last week against Colquitt is broke up two passes tonight.
Second and ten a minute, 12 to go 2114.
Norcross love Joyce, with sometime benefit loads up, and has a receiver.
That is Henderson, and he got neck and push back.
And Michael Marshall on the stick.
It's a first down to Gil.
So they'll stop the clock momentarily to move the chains.
Eleven yards the distance.
That's the first down for the Wildcats, we're under a minute here in Atlanta and what a great ballgame.
This has been the empty set Benefield lines up and he looks.
And that pass was almost picked off bar buddy.
It was intended for Jeff Murphy, but Mohan was in the neighborhood.
And when Kevin gets the football on a big, he takes it to the well.
Kevin Monkey loves to play on GPB.
Return to touchdown against North Gwinnett on defense, had a big return a week ago.
Darn near scored on that one too.
And Benefield didn't make an accurate.
Throw their, we haven't said that very many times tonight.
50 takes to go.
Don't fear?
That is 36 lives up and the ball is picked.
After 30 yard line.
Here's, what am I looking for?
Ramos, he's been spotlighted all night.
Jaquan Fraser steps in front of them, they had and bracket in.
They had high low coverage on Ramos.
They know he's the most deadly weapon in their passing game and they picked the right time to double cover ingame.
Guild that concealed, the state championship for the Blue Devils, Ian Frazer, what the great pick dropping back in coverage.
H 45.
And the Blue Devils are going into the victory formation and let the celebration begin.
21 to 14.
Looks like she a new might be over there in the sidelines for Lovejoy, is they try to jump the snap and call some kind of turnover?
Take a look at it, you look at him, jump, the snap, snap cap, But the referees are going to get in the middle of this because this is definitely.
It's when people get hurt.
Yes.
Again, the victory formation, that'll do it.
Guilt.
Yes, it whatever consecutive State title, Keith Moon, you are a man and your late father, George is looking down and you are the first of three from that st. Pius, team who had an opportunity to win a state championship coach standard, didn't do it for st. Pius at Dudley didn't do it for Ware County but Keith Maloof does it for no across there first.
State championship class.
6A goes to the Norcross Blue Devils 21 to 14 in a great football game here on GPB tonight.
Starts Miles, Autry, late Alvin Kamara.
Downstairs to John Nelson standing by, with Anna static.
Keep aloof Nelly.
It's all yours.
He's directing traffic.
We'll see what we can do here.
Hang on, just a second.
You're still directing traffic.
You said you'd live this day a thousand times.
Now you finally lived it to its conclusion, how does it feel?
Feels awesome.
I just can't tell you how proud I am for way.
Our kids fought being down 7 to nothing things.
Not going our way in the first half.
Battle battle, we found some things.
I got a heck of a football team, we had problems.
Blocking number 14, on 55 their d-ends, but we found a way defense, stepped it up in the second half.
You got to put it, give it to the defense Bay because they kept giving a shot after shot.
And overall, our fans are just can't tell you, you know, my brother at home.
I love my wife, my family, my team, what an awesome feeling I was going to ask you.
This is the next question.
Another Maloof gets to add his name to a State title, you know, Dad's looking over it.
I hate Paul and Ted didn't get theirs, but by God, I hope they're living with me because I know I can't tell you how much it means to my family and everybody we can see it, right?
Right now, congratulations.
Go, celebrate.
Thank you.
Send it upstairs, last championships in the books.
John, thank you very emotional.
Keep aloof.
And, you know, we felt it all the way up here.
You're welling up.
I'm well enough, what an outstanding game here tonight Ray?
Gill, we said that he was going to be emotional if he won this football game and for 3/4, it didn't look like he was going to do it.
His offense came alive in the fourth quarter.
Thanks to a big contribution by Mi all three in a huge contribution by the guy that's brought him here.
Alvin Kamara, he got it done, touchdown, catch touchdown run.
He threw a long, 35 yard, pass as well.
He did everything for them tonight.
I'm so happy for Coach Maloof.
I've covered him for years and I could not be more happy for him.
He's a Class Act and he deserves everything that he learns a night.
You took the words out of my mouth.
He's been accessible.
We've had an opportunity to spend some time with them, and of course, it gives, you know, across the hits tour first championship.
And in football, they've done it in basketball but now they're able to do it in football and for the Maloof family of very special moment, it was one of the storylines.
You heard him talk about it.
The fact that is st. Pius teammates at Dudley and Coach standard, it's st. Pies didn't have the opportunity, all were here on Championship weekend, but it was Keith Maloof who goes home with the hardware and a very emotional time and you got us a, look at him.
Look at him going crazy and he is taken in.
It's not it.
Listening, all of us right now.
Look at that emotion Blue Devil Nation ready to rock the house here in the Georgia Dome in a wee hours, are going to have to clear them out because they got to get it ready for the Johnson and Falcon they're just thinking of somewhere else.
I'll take it up 85 and get off and get ready to go up to Norcross and continue the celebration here tonight.
Guilt.
I really long with train McDaniel.
I want to say thank you for all the GPB family for watching us here this year of football Fridays in Georgia.
Georgia, happy holidays to you and yours and I want to say a special, thank you to big fellow perfect season for the Norcross Blue Devils in.
You take a look at the docket and there it is.
Not a blemish on it's not 15 and O'Gill their best season in school.
History was 12 wins.
They annihilated that they had an awful tough time getting past the second round most seasons.
And now they've got a 15 win season and Lovejoy has a lot to be proud of Guild.
I know they feel like they let it slip away in the fourth quarter.
Back-to-back runner-up.
Last year to Tucker this year to Norcross.
I know that's not a consolation prize that they want, but Hughes has gotten cooking in Clayton County and Clayton County should be Mighty proud of what coach uses done for the second year in a row.
He's got a ton of talent but they got a, heck of a coaching staff to Zane fields and Travis custis among those accepting the runner-up trophy there is out huge.
I'm or Mark Harmon and the GHSA executive director Ralph Swearingen down there.
And you know, they were trying to accomplish Something for Clayton County, they were carrying a banner for Great County and it was all about positive stuff when they represented themselves.
Well, here tonight Ryan Gill, we said it last year and they're lost to Tucker to expect to see them doing good things.
That goal is not dead Gil.
They have got a lot of Talent on this football team, and as long as coach uses their, the future is bright for.
Not just Clayton County, but specifically for the Lovejoy Wildcats.
But it's a perfect season for the Maloofs and Norcross and like I said earlier, ER 120 players on this football team.
60 are Juniors 40 or sophomores.
So just about everybody comes back but it's kind of like a Jim Valvano.
The late Jim Valvano you remember when he won the national championship for NC State and of course so much has been talked about that.
Keith Maloof mirror that here tonight he did.
He's so what's I get everybody?
Downstairs to great colleague, who's worked hard all this week?
Mark Harmon for the championship trophy presentation Marky Mark.
It's all yours and thank you for all you do.
Thank you very much guilt.
I read as Tau time to reward and to present the 6A state championship trophy and for that, I turn it over to the executive director of the GHSA dr. Ralph swearengen.
Thank you Mark.
What a fitting climax to a great weekend.
Lead changes a hard-fought Fought contest going to have our friends from Georgia Farm Bureau come to make the presentation for the state championship trophy on behalf of Georgia Farm Bureau.
I want to say congratulations to you.
Raise that, hi, it's dr. Alvin Kamara, Alvin talk about this game, you're down.
2:46 in the fourth quarter and you battle all the way back.
I mean, it was a team effort, really the whole Community?
Everybody came out to support and I mean, we made it happen, team effort.
All the way I know your fans want to hear about that.
Long touchdown pass and put you in the lead.
Tell us about offensive line had great protection.
Whoever put the ball in the right.
Space and I just I just caught the ball and ran did what?
I know what they what I do best and that's where and I score.
And you do it, you do it Beth.
Let's talk to Joseph Wilbur the quarterback talk a little bit about what this means to.
You means everything to me and the community means a lot of to these coaches.
They put a lot of hard work into it and it means a lot to us seniors like Alvin Kamara.
How about that, man?
It's special group of guys, very special.
All right, we're going to talk to the coach.
Now, coach Keith Maloof.
You join the Walkers of sandy creek, with your dad as the only.
Father, son combinations to win state championships.
What does this mean to win it?
With this group of guys?
You see and I can't tell you much how much it means to me this community.
These guys went in at half they kept their heads up, said coach we got it, we got it.
And by gosh they got it and it's all on them.
They're the ones that did it.
Every ounce of the way I'm proud of them.
There was never a quit in them.
They always I believe we just been a great football team and love joy.
And by gosh, those people up there, baby is there for them.
The Blue Devil nation is obviously fired up on that one.
You guys are trailing 2:46.
You had to Rally, you did it against Camden County.
You did it again here in the Georgia, Dome in the final, well, this team never quits.
It's hadn't done.
It all year.
You don't get to be 14 and 0 by quitting just being War One score down.
And they proved that they are champions.
They deserve to be 15 to know they deserve this Trophy.
And by gosh, I'm so proud of this whole place right now, right?
This Trophy up high, Raise it up High, guys.
Congratulations.
Lot of hard work and you deserve to congratulations to the Norcross Blue Devils, the class 6A state champions.
And let's with that, send it over to my colleague, John Nelson for our postgame wrap -up show.
That was the look right there with Keith Maloof trophy held high looking for somebody, anybody the entire Norcross Community to hug John Nelson, CAD Carney alongside And come up with a better bow for the show.
Oh my goodness.

Lucky six, Alvin Kamara, very lucky guess, Alvin Kamara.
Thanks for coming on with us.
Number six, you scored the crucial six talk about coming back in the fourth quarter.
You guys are down 14 to 3, no problem.
I mean 4/4, what we, what we pride ourselves in a Norcross in closed loop recent.
When we went into halftime to that, we are fourth quarter team.
And I mean, Lovejoy, we knew Lovejoy, I couldn't couldn't match up with us.
If we kept playing our game and kept pressing on, and that's what we did.
And we came out with the win.
And I was standing on the sidelines here.
You went zipping past me and here came the football from Joseph Wilbur.
You caught it and took it right in there.
It's amazing.
I went up and gave over the biggest hug because I mean he put it in the right spot.
So I was really thankful for that and then you got one more late just to ice things up, just to just to shut it down.
I mean, that's what we do for quarter.
We pound it pound it, pound it, and close the do.
Now you're a senior at your last football.
Game is a high school, football player, 15 and 0 you win the state championship.
I mean, you got to be feeling pretty good right now.
If you, it feels like a I mean, you say it, you say it so much like state champion state champions and when it actually happens is crazy.
I feel I'm lightheaded them.
We talk about Keith Maloof, your coach.
And what it meant to him to win one, as we take a look at your touchdown run, really?
I wanted it more for kozma Louvre and I want it for myself.
I mean, that's what I kept in my head.
I mean, even we were down, like, dang, I want to see these coaches, see these coaches take this law, something 14, and 114, and one is, I guess a good season but 15 to know That's Perfection exactly Perfection and that's what we aim for and that's what we did.
You know, you've got all these guys recruiting it.
What's next for you?
I've been saying it that I'm going to get this state championship and then focus on my crew and I got the state championship.
So I mean, now we move on and get this decision over with.
So, uh, I'm not about to commit right now but we'll do it on GPB.
If you want to listen, Alvin congratulations.
Fantastic season.
Fantastic final game and good luck to you and your You to thank you.
All right.
Thanks very much Alvin Kamara.
Tonight's hero, obviously.
Now we're going to bring in John Nelson.
Going to talk about the highlights of this game and they were great.
Let's pick things up early on in the first quarter John, we're going to pick it up and of course it was.
Alejandro Benefield getting things going jamychal Ramos gets you know the seven nothing lead.
Joseph Wilbur's catching his breath just off camera will catch up with him in just a second but Lovejoy gets out to the lead and you talk about Lovejoy.
They're used to playing out in front, they end up getting that particularly Nares.
Your highlight Right there, jamychal Ramos, 60 yards, picking them up and putting them down at 7-nothing Lovejoy, second quarter.
Now, this is the Farm Bureau, of course, in plays of the day highlights of the day.
There's the big in interception by Jordan oil in the third quarter and this would set up norcross's first points field goal up on the board 73, third quarter, but that comes Lovejoy Alejandro Benefield to Brandon Davis in the Brandon package.
Darrell Miller.
Look at that shot right into your living room 2:46.
But then the guy sitting to my left who will catch up here in a The past two Miles.
Autry, catching a pass at the key moment.
Being involved in the key moment and here's the big play right there, 61 yards to Alvin Kamara 7 of 14 on the day, 91 yards, the two scores and I'm going to just kind of talked off-camera little bit.
You see the reactions here, Joseph Wilbur analyze that for a second we'll get back to you and here's the money shot right here, the dagger Alvin Kamara clouds for the back, judge 11 yards, 2114 your final and now that we've had the quarterback catches breath a little bit.
Joseph, how does it feel feels great?
You know, is what we've been working for All Season since the beginning of January?
And I don't know this, it's kind of surreal to me and the rest of the guys has it sunk in yet really no, sir.
Not at all.
Not yet.
You know what I want to ask is Miles.
Autry was injured in the last game.
He comes in late in the game and really was a game changer for you.
Yes, sir, we were trying to use them sparingly.
We didn't want him to get hurt early in the game.
We're going to use them later in the game, and he came up big for us.
We talked about what it means for your coach to win one and for the Norcross Community to win them on, you know, his dad won back in 68 for him to get one.
How does it?
What does it mean to you guys?
Means the world to us the cousin of been preaching all year.
It's a 15 game season and we bought in since day one, and it's a big deal for us in the community and they've really backed us up.
And the whole Administration, The Faculty, everybody is really jumped on board.
You know what, I got to ask is what did you think when you saw coach Maloof up there on the bed, getting the fans?
He's all riled up.
That was pretty cool.
I didn't know he had it in him.
I didn't know he had those hops.
No sir.
You go on the road your knockoff Canden you, come back home, you beat Colquitt, you take it pretty much region.
16a then you come back here what was the week of preparation?
Like, from all indications it was pretty much just business as usual for you guys.
Yes sir, it was an another week for us just with a state championship on the line.
You know, we preached all week.
It's just another week and we're going to come out here and do what we do for this group of seniors.
Was it mean to you guys, we've worked hard.
All four years, the seniors started in the dome in the first game and then to end the game to end the season in the dome with a win is is pretty special Joseph.
What's it been like to play with a guy?
Like number six, Alvin Kamara guy who's going to go on to play big-time college football and, you know, probably on Sundays, I'll be able to tell my grandkids, I played with number six, what sticks for you, just his leadership, you know, every now and then when people get their head down, he'd be right there to pick him back up and when you know, my head would go down her head.
His head would go down.
We pick each other right back up.
And we always knew we had each other's backs.
So here, so then what happens to you after you graduate?
I look forward to playing baseball.
All right, well, Joseph sit right there because the game is coming up which might be a little familiar with might let you just talk right?
Okay.
Let's check out our GPB play of this game and it had to go from Joseph Wilbur the Alvin Kamara and we'll have Joseph Wilbur, talk about it.
What was called in the Huddle was a Florida backside, full back wheel and I kind of saw the safety plan in the middle of field and I was hoping he wouldn't get over there in time and I tried he's Alvin told me to, you know, throw it out there and I'll go get it and man.
Did he go get it?
How wide open?
Was he from your perspective?
I thought it was more wide open than I thought here on TV.
But I guess it wasn't as wide open.
As I thought it was a pretty nice pad.
You put a great place.
That is the play of the game here for the 6A Championship.
Gotta congratulate, you once again man.
Thank you sir.
Thanks again.
We're going to go through the final scores of the weekend.
You can sit here and hang out with us so you can go catch up with your Norcross folks.
I'll leave it to you.
You might want to party a little, thank you, thank you, good work.
Thanks very much, thanks Joseph.
Thank you.
