Tanya Cooper on the drive as time expires in the semifinals, McEachern down ten, comes back for the two point win.
5957.
The Dogpile results and magic happens and McEachern makes it to the last game of the year in six.
Welcome to Championship 14 of 15 at the Dr. Ralph Swearingen USA Basketball Championships.
McEachern.
Coming in from region four.
Well the record of 23 and six Norcross coming in at a region seven with a record of 27 and four on their own.
Here's the road to the championship drought was by our friends from Georgia EMC lining the way McEachern Douglas County by 22 South Forsyth by nine, Mountain View by six, all of them tight And you saw how the game with Archer ended so they ended up in this moment of time facing Norcross.
How did the Blue Devils get here?
Another four wins for Angie Hendry beating Shiloh by 12, Valdosta by ten, and a nail biter, West Lake by 13.
Parkview in the semifinals by 18 foot.
The pedal down early.
And they came here tonight to take on McEachern in the last game of the year.
I am John, that is Sean.
Thanks for accessing us however you are doing so for the six day title game, whether it's GPB Borg or the GPB sports app to get to the last game of the year, we know that there are no secrets and sometimes it's going to take senior leadership.
Norcross is that first step with Allison Johnson, senior leader.
Well, Norcross has been here before.
John and Allison, she understands what it takes.
She's that senior leader, she's that glue.
And in a lot of times people look for the MVP.
No, she's the MVP, the most important player on this Norcross squad.
On the flip side, you saw the magic that Tanya Cooper performed.
She has a resume that is already taking up about four pages and she's not even on the college rank yet.
One of the top five point guards in the nation going to the University of Tennessee.
She kind of reminds me of Chris Paul from the NBA the way she plays.
She's a mickey D, all American up here, baller.
She's fun to watch, 28, four and four.
So you're saying number two reminds you of number three?
Let's send it over to our eyes and ears here for championship 14 of 15, Grace Alston, who's talking about McEachern early on.
All right, thank you.
John Taylor Cooper is a name we're going to hear a lot in this six day girl's state championship game that she's a nationally ranked point guard.
But it's the McEachern roll players that have really stepped up and aided this championship run for the Indians.
If you ask head coach Phyllis Arthur and the team, they say they were not supposed to be here in this 2015 state championship game.
But that mindset was adopted only after injuries struck and they suffered setbacks to those injuries.
Starter Collier Robinson tore multiple ligaments in a home game in November against Hillgrove and was soon ruled out for the season.
And then injuries struck again as another starter.
Zero.
Andrea Bridges from the team calls.
She was actually struck in her car by a drunk driver.
She's doing all right.
Both girls will be at the game tonight, but they were both lost for the season.
So those two keys key losses release force the development of younger players.
Coach Arthur said that she's been teaching basketball and the fundamentals.
She had to basically start over from scratch.
But she said it wasn't until the South Forsyth game that it really clicked in the girls minds and she said since then they've been in a row, they've been on a roll.
So we'll see how those bowl players step up in this championship game.
John, thank you very much.
Grace, Thanks for being our eyes and ears tonight.
Let's go to our starting lineup brought to us by our friends at Regions Bank.
Regions Bank.
It's time to expect more.
There's Norcross and there's a lot of youth there being a McCoy, Taylor Mason, a sophomore, Vash Perry, a junior, mentioned Allison Johnson and freshman Janine Norm for Norcross that your starting five and we talk about great coaches here in the state of Georgia.
There's one of them right there.
Angie Hembree won at Collinsville and has won at Norcross.
She's pretty much one every single play she has coached along the way.
And she's chasing another state title tonight for Norcross.
Now on the flip side and McEachern McEachern starting lineup once again brought to us by our friends at Regions Bank.
Taya Cooper You talked about her in the open, Jayda Lewis the junior.
Shanelle Wilson.
But guard at 57a freshman will look to her as well.
Tiera Lindsay at five eight junior Alexis Burke, the five nine sophomore.
You don't see a lot of hype there, but they are incredibly athletic.
Phyllis Arthur, the head coach and you talk about Phyllis Arthur We have the most important information of the day.
She's chasing after another state title.
The outfit is Calvin Klein, The Shoes, BBC.
She's all about style.
John Styling and profile keys to the game brought to us by our friends at the Technical College System of Georgia to learn more and more former teacher Tia Cooper.
John as she goes, this team goes.
Others do have to step up.
Individuals win games, teams win championships.
Flip side for Norcross.
Norcross comes in defense has been the glue to their success.
They've held opponents under 30 points several times this season.
But tonight they've got a tougher task.
They've got to stop.
Tayo Cooper, perhaps even slow her down a little bit.
Those are our keys to the game brought to us by our friends at TCU, the technical college system of Georgia Tech to learn more, earn more.
And we also have adventures in travel one on one with McEachern, a lot of their basketballs that they wanted to use for a shootaround.
Today they're on to 85 as the basketballs were leaving the kitchen, they left the vehicle that they were in on their own and they ended up rolling all over to 85.
They were run over by one of the vehicles that had a lot of their equipment.
But because Phyllis Arthur has a niece that has a head that is one of the coaches at Northeast Macon, they got their shootaround in.
So if you have a basketball, it's a find on 25.
Would you please return it to Macklin Road in Powder Springs?
We were underway for the six eight girls title game.
These are the two teams we've won the last five.
Who gets those six one in a row?
Once again, make sure that you get the pin working.
Deflections, turnovers, free throws Song Gordon will be keeping an eye on all of that and understand the team that gets to 40 deflections throughout the course of the game.
That's primarily been our winners all weekend long.
So if you're going to look at which defense prevails here in tonight's contest, let's see how tight the officials call the game here in the first couple of minutes.
Calvin Shelby Nancy Story.
Terrelle Johnson on the offensive the first whistle of the game that a foul on Norcross and they got a whistle at the buzzer actually for a reset here and you'll hear a voice calling a lot of personal fouls and what's going on on the floor.
Your public address.
ANNOUNCER Dr. David Withrow, whose parents are watching in Chatsworth tonight as he's calling his 11 hundredth high school game.
Congrats to Dr. David.
The parents are enjoying it up in Chatsworth.
Found Paul on bass.
PERRY off the top ten in the dress blues.
It's her first first ballgame.
Tate Cooper looking to drive will kick dropping from the outside down the drive at the gate.
You talked about how this happened in the third quarter with a nice penetration pass for him for the three.
So now Wilson with the bucket, that's a dangerous almost lightning bounce at the body.
It's a 5050 position hands in chasing after the basketball and he got a foul on the other way Folsom jail Lewis her first philosophical always coaches he says she hasn't had caffeine in years he is naturally caffeinated on the sidelines dropping in for two and Norcross is on the board a minute in and I'm looking at Burton's and it's amazing they playing with so much for so much comfort is there's no help to get the activity going on with two teams and I'm looking so I'm playing hard Sam Johnson looking forward, cross coming back down pull up three off the rim doesn't get the roll crashing bodies and we got a whistle on the inside Everybody's chasing after the loose ball two of them from Norcross, one from the teacher and see where the foul is on Allison Johnson.
It'll be her first.
They don't look like the officials is going to come out a little tired.
Beginning of the contest.
We're accustomed to a lot more activity, a lot more play with the hot bears out as we go into the afternoon TV, hang up on a minute and a half gone.
Take a look at the drive she does.
Does she get the ball off the back of the rim?
Norcross Coming back in transition, almost steps through, having that foot drag, trying to find anyone to pass it through.
It ended up getting into McEachern hands to Cooper on the drive makes the pass.
This is the layup McEachern with the save doesn't happen heading to Norcross the team was hoping wisdom that they helped have come over.
She tried to stake out the defense Dunn.
As a result, she kind of put herself in position not to make that easy layup in transition.
Allison Johnson working the pass to the inside to make more Johnson gets a deep inside inside play those last two baskets John have come from missed shots the inside presence down low from Norcross is taking it early Jimmy did it Lewis Hamilton basketball gets the temperature high Jordan long shot from the outside off the rim no more cross with the rebound coming down being in the court intercepted tell Cooper one arm to take it yes you will she's one of those business players on early season transition and she has a hit great defense and stop the a great steal but she's got the advantage right there.
When she's hard to defend, she's going to take it to the rim.
She's going to attack great body control.
You saw what she did there.
Also with that right hand as she was turning the corner, making sure that she got the corner for the drive in the lane.
Represent.
Well, you got to realize she committed to not being the first in North Carolina, John, as a freshman.
Now she's going to the University of Tennessee with on the field and she's got a fantastic job of growing her game, educating herself and against the full time.
That's good.
By Janine Norm, the tide at six is jumper short Moore with the rebound That's Perry and look away for the pass Hands in the alley once again knocked out of bounds Last touch by being a McCoy it's going to go to McEachern Tahlia Gillespie first off the bench as customary rangy Hembree being able to sit Chanel Wilson will bring it over and upon 3 minutes gone first quarter here the Bulls six eight championship game McEachern Norcross Pop County Gwinnett County here in Macon the championship 14 of 15 this weekend after Miss Norcross coming in transition vanish Perry gives to Allison Johnson and gets around the perimeter.
Taylor Mason Johnson looking to drive right in.
Carroll got caught between two different activities inside off the glass no Taylor Mason rebound McEachern outlet Taylor Cooper three on one how are they going to work numbers here pull up for the long jumper no and out of bounds thought that was a good chance for Taylor when you had a three on one John said pass it up Probably not the shot that coach often wanted, but hey, sometimes things happen for 28.
For the first, nothing has been resolved.
Six points on the board, both sides of the scoreboard, Norcross and McEachern tied the six eight championship tip.
We'll have more from Macon in GPB in a sec.
Same folks puts Butler from Baltimore and Honda in Gainesville.
We want to wish all the teams in the state playoffs the very best of luck.
And if you think Mr. Martin Honda is a proud sponsor of Georgia high School athletics, you got that right.

But at college school, Georgia events students can get help filling out the free application for federal student aid to get money for college.

Gold Gamescom.
Welcome back Meghan Coliseum Macon Center plex for 28 for the first Norcross and McEachern tied at sixes.
We were in the locker rooms before the game.
Here's what we found out against a great team.
One point we're going to play great game.
Finish how stories go.
Okay, let's do this first.
Yeah, let me read what we read.
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Right away.
That writing, I believe Phyllis Arthur leading the charge from McEachern singing lead vocal.
Okay, I'm ready.
You're ready.
I'm ready for y'all.
But, you know, you look at two different coaching style.
Coach Kambouris, she kind of went in with a simple game plan.
This is a good team.
We've got to come out ready to play.
And then Coach Orfield, on the other hand, this team has been through a lot.
She's had to be creative with coaching.
Now she's not going to do that every game, Coach John.
But at the same time she found a creative way to get them motivated.
Whatever it happens, whatever it takes, she's found a way to get it done and when you talk to the folks at McEachern, they say everyone counted them out After those early injuries.
The lady Indians, they say, have the faith, the size of a mustard seed, talent and faith have gotten us to this point, which is playing in the last game of the year for the six eight title or cross.
We'll bring it up the floor.
They get two of their last three McEachern.
On the flip side, it's only hit one of their last seven from the field.
Allison Johnson, Bass, Perry Taylor Mason followed up driving baseline double team pick back out long attempt for a three off the rim No good then McEachern will bring it back down Tyree Gillespie with the attempt the basketball in the hands of Tate Cooper Looking good drive teardrop and down it is out at the beginning we talked about it you know the defense of lacrosse has been very good throughout the course of the year.
But one of the keys is you've got to stop here.
But just one dribble drive to the to the basket for a possible end.
One, you've got to have defensive rotation, solid pressure on the ball, but defensive rotation foul on Gillespie.
It'll be her fourth.
So Cooper with a three point play she's got six of McEachern nine sheets coming out pressing that's Perry tried to go diagonal and it was incomplete intercepted coming the teacher's way to Cooper launches from the outside and a timeout by Angie Hendrix's calling a quick time out there to try to stop the momentum of the lady.
And hey, John, give me some butter, man, because she's on a roll right now.
Hey, she's driving to the basket.
She's shooting threes when she can score the ball and she can be in attack mode offensively.
John, she's hard to defend.
Look at the mic at these all American.
I like myself also a modest regional six four player of the year AJC player of the year going to University of Tennessee.
Her teammate Dan SEALs is sitting in the corner on her the opposing team side tonight.
She's not sitting with a future teammate.
So where's your heart?
Is it with college or with high school?
And Andre Cooper as well?
Grace, what's the word going on on that sideline?
All right.
COOPER Got a little interesting nugget back story about her coach, Phyllis Arthur first learned about Taylor when she was in the fifth grade.
She's not one of those stars that recently emerged.
She's always been on the radar.
Her father really shielded her from that national attention when she was younger.
But when she was in fifth grade, she had to play up to the eighth grade level because she was so talented.
She played sixth, seventh and eighth grade at the eighth grade level guys and had to burn another time out there to avoid a five count, two time outs off a one possession, 330 to go first quarter.
Yeah, two of those neon blues are gone from the bottom of the screen.
Way too early for Angie Emery's liking.
I'm sure.
Now, Coach Henry, she's one.
She's got to get John through defense and that's their offense.
Through defense.
Now the pressure is coming from McEachern.
What can they do offensively to advance the ball versus the press and how can this score in the half court?
They've got the sides down low, but it's not scoring down low.
It's breaking the press.
Now, John, she was forced to use one of her timeouts.
Now you thought you'd think about how young Angie Hembree 18 really is?
Yeah, they pretty young.
They're pretty young.
But that's the beautiful part.
In a game like this, you can step up, you're mature.
Even if you're a freshman and sophomore, you mixed up in class of knowledge of the game.
So far this year, we're you start the year as a freshman.
Really you don't end the year as a freshman when it comes to your playing and what you've done on the floor, off the glass up and in back there.
I see that's how you do the press, John.
Now, with the dribble, you penetrate just enough, you pass over the top and then you attack because the defense now has to regroup, track and get down and hit side.
But the penetration is probably there.
Target Cooper looking to drive with that left hand hand in the alley knocks it out of bounds.
Alexis Burke leaving for McEachern and checking in to Lindsey Cooper will inbound off the baseline.
Jasmine Clements, 35 and from the teaching as well.
Cooper Taylor.
Mason Got it.
And see what happens here.
Drive with the left hand high with the left hand in.
She has tons of penetrations on the hip side's got to be there You got early hip he's got a late hip because she's too good, too quick, too fast getting to the rim.
Almost another turnover for Norcross.
They've got numbers three on two, but it's taken too long to develop fast.
Perry kicks it out long, three short.
And McEachern had numbers the other way in transition.
Intercepted it.
Tyler Gillespie and Back comes North by the Peach and supporters.
One of the crowd that didn't get it back to the jump too long but another chance for Norcross and they'll reset Keenan McCoy up high guarded by Jayden Lewis looks like the foul in the reach is probably Tiera Lindsey on Allison Johnson as she tried to drive.
And John you can see how the game called Cooper instead for her first.
Yeah John you can see how the game is going in the half court.
MacEachern is struggling with the the inside play the post play of Norcross Norcross wants to have fought game and that's me in the inside game.
That's how they're going to be effective in order to take home the championship.
Lindsay will be in the game from the teacher now five white those of you following along in your school books ball knocked out of bounds again.
And there's your look inside.
DONALDSON They call the foul.
I thought it was a clean ball.
It did come from foul On Clements.
Her first one because Tanya Cooper getting looked at behind the bench from a teacher.
So she may have taken a shot to the ribs and she was working a scrum.
There she is.
I was like, yeah, I'm all right.
So now Wilson High shot gets one, rebound, misses twice, and let's see what Norcross can do down for.
But with Cooper out of the lineup for McEachern Moore hands in the lane two on one coming back the other way behind the back defense is the big difference in those championships John but that was a great offensive play.
At the same time, I mean, coming down and Jada Lewis is doing a fantastic job.
She's been with our teammates so much, she's learning how to be creative with the passes.
Gillespie up high inside Johnson trying to find the window and she does And there's a will.
There's a way to get it inside and let Johnson find opportunity to score margin back to four under a minute to go first quarter Rule six eight Title Game.
Grace also reporting from the sidelines.
It was just a cramp here.
COOPER Obviously ready to come back in the first dead ball will be dribbling up high looking to drive spin move on Johnson BLOCK joust up high second chance in difference lead back to six under 20 seconds in the first 8 minutes.
Yeah one on one isolation John key this bring it out and just attacking to the basket took a page out of my partner's playbook in attack mode they are in attack mode on attack of the McEachern induced 3.9 on the clock for the first quarter McEachern up six foul on Jada Lewis for second Lewis will sit and Cooper comes down and say Lewis is that other player John who helps Tate on the perimeter.
So going into the second quarter be interesting to see how Norcross attacks McEachern It's going to have to be something quick here with 3.9 Gillespie around the horn to get rid of it.
Gillespie for three got it.
That's the kind of boost that Norcross was looking for to end the first 8 minutes.
It's been an uphill battle for Angie Hembree and right now McEachern up three in the girls six eight championship game the last five champions squaring off as the six eight title gets decided.
More from Macon when we come back on GPB Losing my mind watching Father Time is the most important thing about race.
You got to have a good ball movement.

Welcome back.
Making the Coliseum Macon Center.
Second quarter getting ready for the girls six day championship game here.
The doctor elsewhere, PGA, USA basketball championships and this is a game where my partner had a lot of fun two years ago at the Macon Coliseum.
It was Lexie Brown and Diamond DeShields.
Oh, this was a game for the ages, Jo I mean, you got one of the two of the top players in the nation at the time and Diamond doing her thing, and here she is in transition.
I remember calling this game last one to use Eurostep.
Why Euro style?
Oh man.
Diamond to shield And she's here, John.
She's right here in the corner.
And you know, for her I'm sure she's on spring break.
Come down here to support not just our future teammates.
She is her team as well too.
And you know just when you can get a player like that to come back and support Coach Henry, because I'm telling you, Coach Hembree, she told me she was as hard on Diamond that she's ever have on one player.
And sometimes you got to push good players harder than the norm because they respond to to be in challenged.
John and Coach Hembree done a fantastic job of developing her players for them to go to the next level and she's got a few more in the kitchen to get ready for the next level.
Crazy Jump in here.
What's up?
She's got five total points and two boards so far, but Coach looked him straight in the eye.
She said, I need all of you.
I need all of you.
She's said, I can't.
You can't be out of this game.
She's like, I need to get I need you to give it your all guys.
You're right.
GILLESPIE With that three leads them after one quarter, you've got four different players who've scored four more across Gillespie leading them with five long, three short.
But once again to Cooper, is the straw in the drink But they couldn't have it happen.
So let's see what Norcross can do down three McCall working the perimeter with Vance Terry finally Gillespie leading them with five long three off the side of the rim.
No good crashing the boards in the inside up and in for two Allison Johnson twist about in an inside presence that Johnson brings to the mix John missed shots is like a pass to her go for it rebound and finish for the two Norcross down one now 1817 High off the back of the rim No good bodies in the inside out fighting for it Four different players had it McEachern will try it again three high Arthur off the back of the rim swatted out of the paint save for a third chance for McEachern.
Taya Cooper on Taylor Mason spin and the way he and I think this reminds me Chris Paul similar ads and you seen him do the NBA level now she's here doing it for a state championship gear creative flair Nice move Press is broken by Norcross off the glass doesn't fall same fighting for it for Norcross.
We got a whistle on the inside.
Alexis Berg checking back in from a teacher.
Looks like zero.
Lindsey will sit at these inbound.
We'll see what happens here.
Allison Johnson's right hand off the window in the back of the room gets the bounce.
Yeah.
You talk about a young lady that can come in and score effectively inside.
She's being creative, trying to.
Hopefully they can't stop her.
Give her the ball jumper from the corner.
No.
Hey, Gillespie and Johnson both going after it.
Gillespie to come down with it.
More basket.
Try and take their lead.
Bullet pass was too fast Now bounce.
It'll go back to the mceachern but I like the way what Allison Johnson is doing John She's a senior on this team.
She's going to willed them.
She's putting this team on her back here early in the first half and is trying to, you know you know will them to a win but looking at the turnovers Norcross seven teach one we talked about deflections John it's 8 to 3 right now with Nick McEachern up 8 to 3.
So one set of turnovers, whatever you do, everything depends on defense, defense, defense plus six leading to plus nine, five and a half and counting here.
First half McEachern leading Lacrosse 2919.
Lindsey hit proof the rim Rebound the lefty over the back looks like it's Jasmine Clements and that'll be her second.
That's it.
Norcross You can tell on their allowance they want to get people to shoot the outside shot.
She's not as effective.
But when she gets inside the paint, that's when she's creative and makes things happen.
Film is something to look forward to.
That's Carey on the far side before the rotation drive.
Try to bring it off.
The right hip ball is deflected and looks it's going to stay with Norcross because last touch by the future Lindsey will be in replacing Jasmine Clements, who will sit with two fouls and see what Norcross does here down by six at one point, down by one.
Now having to go long for the entry pass those Perry looking corner inside Johnson fighting to play player sends it up let's see him get back gets the foul call goes on to Cooper her second Well there's some coaching that needs to be done right now John what happens in the half more for coach often and does she sub out to Cooper you get an offense possession come up with the in the mix.
Well especially on defense you got to take her out Johnson has eight misses the front end there why Gillespie out Janine Knorr back in week on the is going to come back 2 to 3 zone I'm going to say the free throws Lindsay will be with the ball Cooper coming down the floor in a hurry see what she does dribble drive clear out easy two off the back to the rim Barney got missed by Alexis Brook Yeah that's a frustrating pass continue got them down the right place teammate just wasn't able to finish and free pass into the paint working it back to the outside Taylor Mason Mina McCoy 23.
You see the high post is open Johnson was right there so she to create a lot of had to give she can get the ball at the high post on Janine or looking to box out to get possession really up pass it made its destination but Johnson rebound blocked will be saved Another opportunity for McEachern to go on defense box out jumper good the jumper to Taylor Mason for two Yeah good block but you got to finish to play you have to finish to play and we call in here is a group who tried to get into the paint as he tell you better be careful now She's got two fouls.
She's trying to penetrate so deep, so aggressive and so much to pick up a third easy with a charge.
The problem was comes after the right now with supper her out just to protect her on the defense sustains the foul is on Mollie McWilliams and is her first one We got what we expected.
Gwinnett County versus Cobb County Norcross down six now leading one rest of the second the second quarter.

Hello, Mike.
Hello, Mike.
How you doing, Mike?
Are you doing Terry.
Oh, wow.
Fozzie trying that accent out.
That's that's a new one for me.
It's this is the very day like you're driving here.
You're confusing, you're confusing your vocal chords, you're trying to go Aussie and British at the same time.
Hey, Johnny, Souls are saying to me, it sounds as an Australian is Southern British.
Really, if you want to try to do it.
But certain bodies represent here and make it very, very loud and enthusiastic student body.
Great work by them.
They get down here and Johnny's support is well received by both teams.
You know, successful teams, you know, always need that extra support from from that from the schools and the community and especially from their peers and students.
It's always important when that student body comes out and supports these teams in the championship, the foul got switched to that.
We called before the break went from 34 to 24.
So it's the second foul on Allison Johnson.
So we'll keep an eye on that.
Tanya Cooper at the long back to the rim.
No good end zone that isn't going to be and so I think Ted needs to understand that that easily could have been a challenge.
Don't rush yourself.
Take your time to make the perimeter.
He's going to stay in the game.
Don't force the penetration.
Let the deepest make a mistake.
Then you take advantage of the open.
Chris Olsen What do you have?
And that's exactly what Coach Arthur was just saying on Kedron sideline.
She's telling the girls authentically, do not rush the way she was, like take the time to make your shots.
And she was telling Taya that when she shoots, she needs to drive into the paint to make your shot tonight and then stay on the outside.
Nance thank you very much.
Tied at 20.
Nurse, Take Rupal.
Right now she has 14 of McEachern 21 Wilson the next highest with five Dangerous pass incomplete heading back the other way as McEachern missed the layup.
Follow Ms. and Moore Cross comes out with it They escaped in a foul there and that's the third on target Cooper And John, I've said it since she picked up the second foul.
She needs to be careful.
She's not mentally thinking.
She's not playing smart.
She's got the points, but she's playing too reckless on the court.
Slow down, take the time.
Neither sober out of the game, but she picks up four.
That could be no, he could be in trouble.
John Phillips, Arthur giving the officials an earful because she thought the contact was clean.
It was free throw good.
But there shouldn't be any contact.
They shouldn't have been any contact.
That's what I'm saying.
John Cooper, They should not have been in contact.
You're the most important player, the most valuable player on this McEachern team.
They should not be in contact 1215 minutes to go to halftime.
Gillespie And the foul and see right now the team feeds off of her she's been she's been less passionate off the free throw lethargic and as a result her team is playing that way fouling Lindsay will be her first in the paint they missed the free throw will be comes down with the rebound so they only escape with three on those possession in a half more class now leading 2431 coming up on 315 and counting in the first half jumper off the rim no good war cross is going to come out with it.
They had numbers, but it looks like they're going to pull it back from back period the accelerator one more time to bring it into the frontcourt.
Keenan McCoy, 23, Guarded by Elizabeth Allen, 21.
John Unskilled players don't pick up a fourth foul.
She's too involved defensively around ball.
She needs to be more stationary and play the space in the air instead of trying to be aggressive.
Go for the steal to her balls.
Create a third opportunity.
Gillespie with the deuce and in the leader John is not playing aggressive the team stop playing aggressive maybe a timeout so they can get back to playing more aggressive team basketball.
McEachern run for nine from the floor this quarter Bodies on the floor three different still scramble for target Cooper's got it now we get out from the possession and it's going to stay for this go around goes off and has to get her out of the game.
She almost picked up another foul there, John Going over for the loose ball in the slam.
She has to come out of this game.
There you go.
There's your scrum.
It's right there.
That's a foul.
That's a foul.
That's a foul.
That's a foul.
The fish has saved her, but she's got to get ahead, right?
She's got to understand, get her head right time and score and time in possession.
Chanel Wilson, 11 in for McEachern replacing K with Cooper.
So this is going to be one of the more interesting tests McEachern has handled.
Well, you know, this is good because now they can stand the pressure, they can press a little bit more.
Now you don't have to you don't have to protect their this game, the pressure that's try to score and defend with our defense cross-court passes leads them to the front court.
Coming up on 2 minutes to go first and Norcross up by this the runner up the right hip second chance no third chance Lindsay will be guarding and they're calling alternate possession.
It'll stay with Norcross and John.
It's okay.
You know, Taylor's up the game.
Good.
Now the team can get back into a defensive rhythm.
A defensive mindset.
You can be more aggressive now.
You could be aggressive because Taylor was the one.
He was the weak link on the court.
Simon Oliver in the game.
Norcross Eight turnovers in the game.
Only one for McEachern, but they have a five point advantage.
Foul away from the ball What we want right now in the size advantage for Norcross John just took an advantage there on the inside underneath out of bounds and Moore just did a good job of posting the ball down to Miami fierce in the game the 510 freshman 22 the first free throws up and in a nice spot for Johnny North and nice go for the freshman look good Nice post up.
Well playing in the state championship game, I'm sure she's got a few nerves, but that stroke looked pretty good and shows and she didn't have any luck.
Also, 701 game was tied at 21.
Now it's Norcross 28 MacEachern 21 or under 2 minutes to go.
First half.
GIPSON Looking for two off the back of the run.
No, no.
Call a foul.
Pierson tried to go to the basket as he tried.
If you had J. Lewis still active in the game, it would be okay.
But the starting backcourt has £5.
Well, JD and his record like this and saying, you know, Jayden's in the game now, so she's got to take care of a little bit more from Teo Tell us more important but Jada is now is going to have to be more aggressive from the teacher in case you missed her first, it's the second half margin back to six at 150 she Hembree does more pass the offensive set just needs more crossing state cross after this one two two half to accept Mason freedom of McCoy and that's okay because she got the ball off the tank they keep the ball contained outside of the paint.
That's pretty good defense Intercepted the teacher coming back the other way.
They had numbers, but once again, hands in the alley.
Create the easy to reflexes defense as defense is down.
We'll talking about it until the end of the contest.
Deflection that was a key deflection turn to the steal turn to Aliyah Gillespie with the basket she's got 11 and four Norcross in the margin is eight coming up on a minute to go in the first half and the long jumper rattles in for three and that's big concern tonight was Chanel Wilson stepped up knocks down the three it's going to take the team effort tonight from Gillespie again drive into the basket for two she's got 13 but someone's got to step up the leadership just because McEachin makes his shot on the offensive end.
You've got to step up with leadership.
They've got to get back just to protect the defensive basket.
Coming up on 30 seconds for the first half, Elizabeth Allen is playing catch with Chanel Wilson, who's up high known all over trying to set a pick, Jada Lewis, right by Taylor Mason.
Coming up on 20 seconds.
And Jada Lewis playing catch.
You play for one.
But let's see when they start.
Corner Jumper open short.
But from the inside, Gillespie comes up with it looks like more force probably just going to sit.
Last chance he hit the rim Taylor made one more read it this morning Giannis he would have made it great It's a great job in the first half by both teams.
Great job.
McEachern had the early lead to Cooper Foul Trouble.
Norcross is now leading by seven at 32 to 25.
And now how much of a surprise is this for you?
It's no surprise, especially that you got your best player on the court, the team to attack Cooper.
She goes in the foul trouble.
This definitely is exactly what Coach Hembree want to get to, Cooper in foul trouble.
And this attack being the best player on the bench.
Okay.
Grace finally has Coach Angie Hembree.
What's up, GRACE?
All right.
Coach Embry helping firsthand some tough spots there.
She's already got three personal fouls.
How's that going to contribute to your game?
I don't think it makes any difference.
Ty knows how to play with foul trouble.
That's not going to be a factor.
She's still going to be out there and she's still going to be creating.
We've got to do a better job of breaking the press and converting or pulling it out, running some sets.
We're letting we're letting Taylor do too much with the ball, create too much.
But my kids are playing their hearts out, so I'm proud of them.
You built some momentum despite the turnovers.
How do you limit those turnovers?
Oh, it's going to take more than that.
There's no doubt it.
It's going to take more points than that.
I best look second half.
Thank you, Coach.
Let's send it back to Mark on the set.
Thanks, Grace.
Angie Henry has won six state titles and a couple of different schools.

What's going on in the Twitter Twittersphere, that's that's Twitter sphere, that's McEachern and Norcross we've got here and we're very familiar with them from the football season.
So I'm also very familiar with them when it comes to that Twittersphere and social media.
We have a lot of tweeters out there and a lot of people on Facebook tonight.
So I'm going to share some of that with you.
First, we've got Eden Jimenez who says, let's go, Lady Blue Devils, bring home the bacon hashtag.
NORCROSS Whoop.
And this is a Chick-Fil-A little sign thing, if you can recognize that right there.
It says, looks like a little kid wrote it.
If you're playing Norcross, it's to late.
She says, Very cute.
Now, James Gibson says, let's go, Norcross Blue Devils, bring that ship home.
We have state championships run through Gwinnett counties, blood from Matt Wright.

Our guys have to include it in the game broadcast somehow.
Our winner gets a mellow mushroom gift card.
If we choose to include your word in the broadcast, I'm going to send it back over to Nikki and Mark.
All right, Great.
Thanks so much.
Coming now, we check in with the Georgia EMC scoreboard.
We've crowned four state champions so far today.
Two more to go.

Saint Francis a winner there and a buzzer beater.
The Saint Francis boys also a winner over Green Forest Christian, 96 to 81 to pull off that boy girl daily double.
Yeah.
Then we move on to the girls Class three a lady Wildcats all over the beach Bulldogs 7255 in the boys Classic three eight Morgan County over or Jenkins I'm sorry over Morton County.
Mark you remember I mean that was a buzzer beater came down to the very last second What an entertaining game And now.
Well right now we're in the girls six a half Norcross McEachern And as you see, like we said, Coach Amber Hembree getting it done 32 to 25.
We have one more game to go tonight.
And that's the granddaddy of them all the boys, Class six, eight, Pebble Brooke and Wheeler.

Norcross Leading McEachern 32 to 25.
Heading into the second half of the girls six state title game Coach Arthur with us here Coach McEachern hurt Norcross with the 30 I'm sorry 29 to 12 advantage on the boards right now.
Have you did you talk to the girls at halftime about the main thing we talked about in the locker room?
Because they are killing us on the board.
They're playing more aggressive and more physical than us.
And so I told them we got to come out here and play more physical and go and box them out on boards.
And your key player, Taggart Hooper, point guard, obviously in foul trouble right now.
What are you going to do to limit the aggression?
Well, we're going to have to make some changes with what we put on defense.
And hopefully, you know, the referees see that, you know, that last time the tipped up the fouls, let them go, but they can't be able to tick down on her.
So maybe they'll let that and, you know, call it that The foul can was a little bit different for us than them.
So we just hope that they can cut it both ways.
All right.
Well, best of luck in the second half.
Thank you so much, Coach.
Let's send it over to Sean and Jonathan.
Thank you very much, Grace.
First half, really, it was a tale of two quarters.
At one point, you had the largest lead for McEachern was six.
And then Terry Cooper gets in foul trouble and it all goes from there.
Yeah.
McEachern came out playing great press defense, especially on the perimeter.
But once Norcross Jump was able to control the tempo, get the ball inside.
That's what the bigs took advantage of their size and their strength in the paint.
Till I tell you.
Gillespie with Norcross leading them with 13, take Cooper with 14.
And here's the action from the first half.
Yeah.
Inside.
Inside basketball, No, across this dominating the boards and finishes inside the paint.
22 to 12, inside the paint scoring zone.
And it's hard to beat a team when it's plus ten when when the ball is being scored inside.
The one way that McEachern can win the game is extend their pressure and score in transition and tell Cooper has to be effective.
But to be effective, John, she's got to be in the game.
She's got to control her emotions on the court, keep playing good basketball, but you can't force the play.
And the stat that stands out to me, John, is the rebounds.
29 Norcross MacEachern 12 Some people may think it's a score, but actually it's the stat with rebounding and when you control in the paint like that, offensively and defensively offers a second chance points.
John Norcross 18 McEachern Four stats courtesy of our friends at West Georgia Technical College and also brought to us by our Friends of Farm Bureau, Georgia, as we get ready for the next 16 minutes.
Angie Hendry six titles to Collinsville and Norcross.
Phyllis Arthur titles 2012 and 20 1433 and in 2012, number one in the state, number two in the nation, 29 and last year, 23 and six.
Coming into the game tonight.
Norcross on the drive off the rim, no good.
Norcross will be going from left to right here in the second half has been true from right to left and the coach who came out, John, playing with that aggressive trapping defense in the half, let's see what they can do here on offensive end one and done back comes Norcross and Gillespie walking a high long jumper off the rim.
No good, no one crashing for Norcross.
McEachern ends up with it.
Taya Cooper Easy to transition.
John She's one of the best I've ever seen.
She's got a great body control, great idea of how to handle the ball.
There's a three on one to everyone else is just got to be careful in the half court because you're looking to draw charges only to pick up a four margin back to five 3227.
Well, more than a minute gone here.
Third quarter by Taylor Mason looking inside kicks it back outside Nice Perry inside Alison Johnson off the window.
No and the teaching will come down with it again.
Tate Cooper dribbling into the paint through three Norcross players and they're going to call a foul and stay on the drive.
And don't you see it?
She's got a head up.
She's going to hit on the swivel and be able to finish in transition like that.
John That's a rarity.
You don't find too many kids being able to do that space at the high school level.
That's why she's one of the top in the nation.
Taylor Mason with the foul.
It's her first pupil with 16 future 27, Wilson with eight.
McPherson has the other point and will be with two rimmed out.
Missed them both but it's picked back into play tackle square and miss again more closely Work with it now Feeney McCoy Taylor Mason from three and the margin is eight kick to the corner rim Norcross in transition Mason two on three pulls it back goes around and Alison Jensen screen wants to do something when he gets it to the outside off the front of him.
No second chance Johnson scrambles for it, gets it back inside, all alone and collapses.
He gets his players on the floor.
30 for fans out one on three.
So take it right here and off the glass.
No But McCollum a cha a block sorry she'll go to the line and John does a couple of things I need to dissect about two yes games does a great job of getting in transition here she is getting to the rim but you had such space there.
She needs to pull up for a jump shot because that easily could have been called a charge.
It could have been her four and she has to understand that everything does not have to be put your head down.
Drop, drop, drop the inside game, the midfield game.
She can develop that, John.
That's how she's going to be more effective, especially at the next level instead of it being the fourth for Tate Cooper, it's the third for Allison Johnson.
MGM re swaps out Danny McCoy will bring it up.
McCoy, Gillespie, Mason Fast.
Perry and a lot of active hands for McEachern but they're going to call a foul This a catches joint they're trying to trap and steal the ball Well, the offensive player has possession of the ball and being active with it.
Just set the ball, control it, and then the rotation is where the steal is going to come.
Don't try to steal it out of the offensive hands.
That's where the fouls accumulated.
Third foul on Jada Lewis.
We'll keep an eye on that bounce to the inside spins short McEachern looks like they're going to come out with it Let's that also might be a foul on Janine on that'll be her second Lindsay will be checking in from a feature Chanel Wilson from the perimeter does a Cooper Cooper looking to drive on three and kick with the miss but we got a whistle and a block and suck the calls on and call Bash Perry It'll be her second super Chanel Wilson Lindsey will be three off the rim.
Now on the floor is Jasmine Clements alternate possession will stay with McEachern and John I'm sitting here I'm thinking as a coach here Cooper gets the ball.
I'm okay with that.
But when she starts slicing and driving, especially when there's congestion inside the paint, if I'm Philo's Cooper, I mean, I hold my breath every time.
Hopefully she doesn't pick up that early fourth foul here in the mid part of the third quarter, drive off the window, short rebounds and a norm for Norcross Mickey terms now two of the last 16 from the floor that's Terry looking for some rotation offensively guarded by Chanel Wilson Taylor Mason that got by will be up high now back to Perry Cooper put a hand in there for a slot halfway home here in the third which puts him down six to North Boston 3529 open in the corner fakes the jumper then pulls up for three rims out.
No second chance knocked up into the air.
McEachern will come down with it.
Gillespie and Knorr both missed their opportunities and a block on Bynum, a McCaw and that'll be her second.
With that whistle we will take a break 345 to go third quarter Norcross holding their advantage over McEachern as we come back to the Macon Coliseum on the great GPB Stay with us and take the fourth in about 3 minutes Got to have a good ball movement.
Watch our turnover of an easy play look, summer is the time for who's looking great Action.
So what's it up, Angel?
Looking to get some space finds it throws intensity family memories, tickets and information available at Atlanta Dream dot net Welcome back Macon Coliseum Macon center plex 345 for the third quarter McEachern down six to Norcross in a battle of Cobb County versus Gwinnett County for the girls six eight championship had a lot of lean back and on the bench in street clothes being a part of the roster Collier Robinson a UGA signee a big part of their winning the championship last year averaging a triple double 16, 12 and ten monster to a meniscus MCL and ACL tear back on December six.
But she is there part of the team in this last game of the year.
Yeah she's got to get healthy.
She's going to Athens, man.
We need her very badly.
And she you know, and she's looking very bedazzled, by the way, on the sideline.
Yeah.
Yes.
Exact word for the win.
Well, she's getting it from a coach as well to o'clock.
Coach also has the same look in style.
Bedazzled is something that they all focus on, John, before they come out on the court.
There's Collier Robinson losing Collier, Robinson and Z Bridges early in the year.
They've had to rework things for McEachern, and they have made it to the last game of the year.
But don't you think about Taya Cooper, what she's done since she was a freshman?
This school?
I've been a part of this program.
She hasn't had to score as much, just kind of facilitate me the pure point guard whenever one gets injured.
Now she had to up her ability to score the ball and has actually made help at the next level because she's trying to learn some things.
And that's exactly what she did there.
Nice groove, nice drive to the basket points 19 and 24.
Yeah.
Cooper Cooper of 20 of the key turns, 31.
They're down four now coming back on track to time trap trap.
I didn't like that truck jumper.
I love that rotation.
That's exactly what the class is made up.
If asking themselves what is the rotation, great rotation.
And now they've got a chance that could lead them to three faster to make it these two free throws foul on Taylor Mason off the turnovers see here's the trap that's is what I'm talking about a little too tight the Cooper that three fouls done she can't pick up the fourth but the second trap the rotation is the key to a successful Chris Baker opening night Jasmine Crunch her first point of the game Alison Johnson back in Reminder Johnson has three fouls.
Tahlia Gillespie will sit a second free throw off the rim, no McEachern fast on the boards.
Johnson with the rebound across in their front court Lena McCoy looking to drive off the glass No and a foul on the inside.
Let's see who they call on by Bash Perry on the drive Yeah nice drive defensively the rotation was there time but she turned her body and the offense came in That's what they call the defensive block volunteer Lindsey her first free throw good one advantage back to five with the two free throws is one for three here for the third they're Cooper high dribble pulls back for three rim no rebound Janine or one and done again for the peach Wells five point game John and two of didn't have to come down to West coast take your time with so much basketball to play you don't want to hit home runs and make singles a couple of doubles here and there, but you don't beat home runs with 239 left in the third and a full fourth quarter play.
Dash Perry with the incompletion over to the Norcross bench.
Two and a half and counting for the third, almost a swipe from behind, got up and walked it for Chanel Wilson margin The three fast Perry guarded by Lindsay will be the McCoy Chanel Wilson activity on the inside of Jimmy Fallon's here Lindsay away from the ball it'll be her second across all inbound on the side with McCaw Taylor Mason Allison Johnson big pick up high corner all alone is baskets she didn't want to take the shot brings it back out Taylor resets under 2 minutes to go third quarter drive high off the window to high who touched it last The teacher at John Norcross is doing a good job.
They keep the ball active, especially here on their side of the court.
Second chance thorn.
Second chance opportunities call.
McEachern has to do a better job of securing that defensive rebound Perry and Mason to put it McCoy up high.
Allison Johnson looking on the inside, off the glass, no fighting for the rebound.
Wilby wins gives to Taya Kirkwood drives kicks it to the kitchen back out on the perimeter will be misses the three they're going to try it again Plymouth with the pass and the foul and to personnel Wilson should go to the line as he plays like that really motivates that the future teams on he can look at the bench and look at the coaching staff that shows the heart.
This is a grind.
There's a lot of hustle and a chance for a nice old fashioned three point play.
Following Janine on this, the free throw Allison Johnson skies for the board being a McCoy to bass Carey having to dribble through three McEachern players fly off the glass No one and done McEachern with the rebound they have a chance to take the lead Wilby by dribble kicks it back three Coleman's got to go Oh man soft touch oversight stepping into a three.
That's exactly what McEachern needs now with a two point lead.
So let's see what Norcross does to respond down to those on the foul line.
Lindsey will be on the reaching who will be second fouled and his last points on the board.
Yeah Tennessee steps in nice rotation nice soft take the three how you can get it Allison Johnson looking to drive into the paint on Clemmons off the window No and a joust don't call possession and that will stay with Norcross McEachern on a 12 two run John coaching right now I'm taking Ted Cooper out the game defensive possession 37 seconds left in the third take her completely out of the game We got a two point lead Eagles four to go down by one but good steal on the inbounds pass wasn't high enough for Allison Johnson to grab so it's a turnover and Tanya Cooper will try to activate for the last 27.
But if she's smart John don't go to the rim.
Don't drive to the rim.
I'm telling her right now, pass over, pull up, pass it and stay outside of the paint because you don't want to pick up that fourth and Spencer with a charge Dina McCoy on the guard crossover left hand right trip through the third on being McCoy And a lot of times don't you just got to think worst case scenario nice trip to solve that Now you got the free throw line for two free throws, but she had gotten past there.
She's trying to do too much and be too creative.
John For me right now, you've got to be more passive and go into the fourth quarter.
Now you can play more aggressive again.
Missed the free throw, more pass with possession, but they step on the sideline with 1.3, McEachern gets another chance if they'll call the quarter instead.
I think it was 1.2 in the closing buzzer.
Never go.
There's a reset at 1.3.
We'll see what McEachern does here.
Quick will be three missed it.
They got the inbounds pass and she got the three off but it didn't go nor crosses missed their last eight shots.
Taya Cooper has 20 points to pace McEachern Norcross is on a three to a 13 two disadvantage.
It comes to turnovers McEachern up two as we chase the six eight title.
I have our answer.

That's medium well.
What are you calling me?
A liar?
This thing is practically brown.
That's it.
You're not going to come to my house and tell me how to cook a brown?
You wouldn't do it.
They're crazy, so don't do it here.
Sportsmanship.
It's up to you.
Welcome back to the Making Center Plexus Featured leading Norcross nine, 1937, heading into the final six a girls state title match.
Coach Arthur there you see her in the huddle.
Currently talking to her girls.
She emphasized the 1 to 1 set.
She's going to put them in when they get back on the court.
Also, we saw Taylor Cooper come down hard on a couple of minutes ago before the court.
All she did was fall.
So she is fine.
She's ready to go.
In terms of the rebounds, we've talked about those.
She said when you box them out, box them way out.
And then like I said, we're in the final quarter of the state title game.
She said, Girls, we told you this is going to be a hang around game.
She says, 8 minutes to go.
Giving your heart, give it your all for those final 8 minutes.
She says, Girls, we can do this.
We can pull it off.
Guys, thank you very much.
Grace rebounding 42 to 21 for Norcross.
Yes, a football score.
Well, that's a football score.
The thing that has to be done is the turnovers.
Norcross has 14 and McEachern has two.
So McEachern doing a fantastic job of controlling the tempo of the game and that's how they got back in here, cut back on their turnovers and now they've a two point lead.
Two of the great minds in Georgia high school basketball, Angie, Henry Phillips, Arthur going at it for the six eight title game, The kitchen up to 3937 Ted Cooper with 20 leading the Indians Nancy Taylor to Jones is she's been too aggressive early in the possession move move without the basketball pass could be one of the keys we talked about others have to step up in order for them to win.
It's not about the individual winning game.
It's about the team winning the championship.
And she has to move without the ball and trusted to make it work.
It more foul.
On Taylor Mason.
Her third free throw is no good, nor cross three of their last 18 from the floor, and they have two field goals in pretty much the last nine and a half minutes.
One of 12 from the floor in the third quarter.
McEachern is being aggressive on protecting the paint more now, John, enforcing no calls to play on the perimeter, and I think that's one of the reasons why a field goal pursuit percentage is definitely shot down.
And don't look past Perry from across to Tyler Gillespie, Nina McCoy, It's not about flashing into the paint.
Pulled it back to bash Perry, guarded by Shanelle Wilson.
Cooper flashed on defense inside to Gillespie.
Off Gillespie.
We're heading the other way.
Angie Hembree with a very young starting five, only the one senior in Johnson, a cooper left hand up and in she now has 22 in the margin is for the transition, John, as well.
She's had a basket, a fantastic job on the board in the jump, the charge finishing with the layup, Taylor Mason playing with three and the foul by Terrell Lindsey reaching in over the top That's her third set That's a hero foul a foul John I don't like those fouls players got to understand you're about four points you want to go for the steal every time just play solid defense Don't be a hero play solid defense before looking to inbound finds Taylor Mason minute and a half gone here fourth quarter McEachern up four in the girls six eight title game kicks it back out looking for the three is McCoy decided against it Don't worry don't reach He's getting close John in the backdoor pass gets the roll and the two for bass carry it out every time he gets around the ball and tries to be aggressive with the gamble on the steal.
I just think he's going to pick that fourth foul inside to the dish was Lewis in giving it to Lindsay for her first two of the game.
Yeah that's everyone getting involved John again it takes a team to win a championship and if Taylor's teammates pick it up and keep playing the way they are.
Yeah, go home and put down this McCoy Gillespie playing catch and off the window.
That's Kerry had to alter her shot with Dixon coming down with it with a four point lead it 4339 big bounce and that's what she does best, John.
She's a facilitator.
She's a playmaker.
She gets others involved.
She doesn't have the players he's used to.
And it does come to John.
But her teammates are starting to step up big here in the fourth.
Allison Johnson double team.
One of them was Cooper shot up one and done for Norcross coming back in transition.
Tanya Cooper get it poked from behind by Bash Perry coming back the other way wide open is Gillespie missed the shot she wanted that to it's like the fouls on Jasmine Clements watch this thumper coming down the floor right This is when she's at her best John play.
Make sure she's one of the best in the nation.
And then on the other side, coming down for the next chance.
Well, you know, you still got to have a sense of urgency about yourself.
She's made two solid plays on the offensive end zone.
She thought she had two open floor.
You got to have a sense of awareness.
What's around the back tip came.
She lost the ball turnover.
Fearless Arthur calls time out That's her first neon blue Mark laid bottom of the screen and she Hembree has three so McEachern has four timeouts and you want pedigree.
The last five have come here.
Now here's the 2013.
Well, I just like to hear you say Eurostep.
There's diamond for three.
Now here's your here's here's my favorite Sean Golden ball of all time Go for it one more time There's your spin around Oh oh, yes.
Die of the shield.
Hey, John.
We've seen this so many times.
That is love.
Watch your step arrow style Diamonds Year 2012, The first championship for McEachern 33.
You know, they beat their region rival just down the street rival Hillgrove number one in the state number two in the nation and Tanya Cooper she was a young and you could see it then that she could did yeah she was and John just giving it out like giving buckets away and that's what she's going to do in the next live.
I know she's looking to score a lot of points now, but man, when you get the ball in her hands and she's got this way around, she's going to be special.
The first free throw got by Gillespie as good as is the second.
Norcross was up 3527 611 left in the third.
Since then, it hasn't been an 18 to 6 run for McEachern since Hooper looking to originate facilitator up high on the drive past Taylor Mason one and one and done that who gets to keep it looks like McEachern does because they couldn't handle the handle Well that was a okay job there by Taylor.
There was no way up there, so she just missed the layup zone for 40 left in the game, up by four points to take the ball.
We're going to start singing that song here, John.
I take it a little bit free throws and turnovers and people you haven't heard of sing the song.
You're going to hear it for the last time of the week in free throws And Tony they Lewis with the Miss Gillespie with the rebound Terrell Lindsay with the foul that's for on Lindsay to keep an eye on that 8.6 boards on average for Lindsay looks like Lindsay will be will come in replacing Tiera Lindsay come back down to the other end Gillespie back to the line she gives them the 15 she now has 16 and John she's a sophomore and she's got a nice future for her.
Nice three five of seven from the line but got the rebound they couldn't hang on to a foot on the baseline creates the turnover gives it to McEachern off the miss there Allison Johnson So John she's coming out with a sense of urgency now she's all over the place.
She's laying it on the line.
She wants to go back to go back to Terry Cooper, hit the ground hard with that left hand.
Miss Gillespie had the drive, pulled it back out, thought about the long distance three in the last one up the floor is called Cooper Jumper From the corner.
It was too much.
Lindsay two for the last three in the final and the foul is on the last person up the floor.
Take a look.
And John is thrilled on the screen.
I've talked about it all contest long all second half.
I don't understand if you're up by three points.
The big question is why?
Why you up five?
It's a tight game now.
So now four take the ball and play some more.
But she can't do it by herself.
Third tie at 45 didn't last very long.
She now has 24 and keeps them back up too.
Yeah, you've got to keep in the game, John, but she's got to play a lot more smart.
And now Gordon hitting in here to the stretch, Johnson picks to the corner.
Gillespie Hot hand off the rim no Johnson looking for the rebound Ultimate possession stays with Norcross the her Elizabeth Allen coming in from a future so now Wilson finally vacates unless we will inbound all the way back out to bash parent McCoy Gillespie looking to drive she does Clemens didn't let her progress as far as she wanted to so it goes out of bounds.
They'll try it again.
So now we'll back in quickly.
Lindsay will be out 332 in regulation McEachern leading by two 4745 long in free pass Lewis just missed the interception Nelson Johnson right hand to hard Clements hits the floor on the alternate possession with Gillespie sends it the teachers Well now John McEachern has four timeouts left from coach answer I might take the time out here.
Just calm them down, coach him a little bit more.
You do want the clock the run, but you don't want it to be such an armed force.
Turnovers in future With only three turnovers in the game.
None in the third quarter.
Norcross with 16, but with a young team that happens to a keeper under three to go crossover left and right Johnson passes it forward with is fair shot goes up but it doesn't fall Taylor Mason the line as time that's what I talking about There was no defense on tell you to make the drive to the basket you're up by two points why drive you trying to make something that's there that's not there.
You know, you're trying to go into a basket of trees down low.
And that's what Norcross has to have a great defensive presence in the paint.
Now we got a chance to tie the game, a bad size equipment to follow Elizabeth Allen, her first, you saw the free throw numbers anticipate the next 246.
There's going to be more added to that as we go and we'll sit after the foul second free throws.
Good.
So the five seven sophomore tied at 47 Cooper kick Lewis with the runner no inside second chance missed call her presence Allison Johnson coming down on the rebound for Northrop.
Hey coach coach and coach and 227 to go tie game.
Let's see what the team has up for Lee Johnson spin with the right hand to miss the shot here Cooper comes out with it bullet Paul Callan here with the two bombers one too many passes in transition but McEachern the two point lead under 2 minutes to go regulation.
Yeah that's a great pass and great players get to work They're going to keep moving McCoy past Perry as he picks.
I said defensively, John, you don't have to get you to stay in position.
Pressure containment.
I don't mind a contested three, but you don't want to drop in a possible foul at the rim more cross is that two of the last 16 from the floor Gillespie two of 17 McEachern with the rebound Jayden Lewis looking to drive dish off the side of the window No good but a foul and if that's on Johnson that's more Angie Hembree wants a timeout to talk about it so let's take a call that will leave it with two with a minute 24 John I think both coaches wanted that time out there.
I think that chalk was going to take a timeout on the way you call it.
No, you call it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
So, hey, you know, Coach Embry takes the time out.
You know, you got to historic coaches here and make it special.
There's the bio blast on Angie Hembree, the career record for 46 and one 4921 years as a head coach.
Titles at Collinsville and Norcross six time coach of the year in the GHC said one thing about her she does not like losing she's a winner She's won everywhere she's gone.
She's got a young team.
But the fact that they're here with basically two seniors and one senior, this actually strongly contributed, that's a credit to her ability to coach and get these girls into a position to win a championship.
And once you talk about it, well, first of all, the timeout was too slow.
Get the place under control.
Second of all, the time out is to make the young lady at the free throw line, make her think about it.
You want her to miss.
You know, the time makes them think about the free throw.
Within seconds, all of this will be shot, this liberated this.
You know what they're going to do?
They do have timeouts at the basket.
So we're okay with that?
This attack of a miss or make a shot this get to real get to the free throw line for the charge the first five more across rebounding edge, 51 to 29 Allison Johnson with 15 boards Gillespie the leading scorer with 19 four others in the book.
To Cooper, no surprise, there's a rebounding team.
Cooper with 24 points and a lot of that's on the offensive end, 23 to 11 On the offensive game rare cross with the advantage.
There's a second chance points at a plus 15 for three straight up and some awesome has 13 kitchens leaders three straight three rebounds Skye Gillespie saves it don't you don't need a three here John you just had a nice drive to the basket get the to use the timeout if you want to just set up the defense you do not need it to move as recklessly.
There's Perry Mason Johnson the seniors looking good drive right hand kick wide three everybody taking over the Green Zone so they get seven by three.
This time the job to the rim, the roughing, the kick, the three Tucker Taylor Mason gets the three.
She now has 11 Angie Hembree calls timeout again.
You know this time John is how you going to in ten people knows about the three in this group it was about the drop they help take the was that the three was a second half and John he started the first option and that's good solid basketball by the senior good decision good pass nice shot fifth tie the game 50.
There's the kick and the presence of mind.
You had three players collapse that left somebody open.
Grace Olsen, what's going on?
It's observed Coach are in the huddle when they came out of that last into that last time out, she looked at her board when she was drawing something up and she just stared at it for like a minute.
And then she came up with her per game plan, which was either give the ball to Ty Leah, or give the to Taylor Mason.
Taylor took the shot, obviously made it somebody's question, giving the ball to Gillespie.
And she said, well, she's missed her shot, but she hasn't been open when she's taken them.
So they executed the game plan properly.
It looks like they had it under the team.
They can do next, guys.
Gillespie, one of nine from three so far in the game.
She's five of seven if she's shooting for two Mason one of two from three before the one that she made two of nine field goals in Jimmy everyone watching this game everyone knew this was going no there's one person is going to dominate at the ball right here.
Let's take it to what the game plan is.
What can you do?
The double team how do you help it this for someone else to beat you Let's what's going to happen?
Looks like Mason will be on that point.
See if they can get Tad Cooper out of the corner looking the drive work left hand crossover one to the paint call foul.
Three more cross players converge and see who they call Looks like it's Mason and that's for the jump tested 50% from the free throw line tonight five for ten.
Let's see what she could do here with a pressure in the corner with 43 seconds left with 42 seconds to go in the game.
Now, in case you missed how McEachern got here, 6.3 left.
Everyone in the building knew it was going to go two to blue and off the left, hip off the window and in as time expired, McEachern down ten late third, early, fourth came back for the two point win to get them here.
Cooper has 24 of McEachern 50 McDonald's All-Americans USA under 17 Metro Player of the Year, Region four, Player of the Year 2014 Naismith Atlanta Metro Player of the Year.
Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Player of the Year.
Marietta Daily Journal.
Player of the Year over 2200 points in her career Game high this year is 46, and only one thing missing, John on that list, 2015 six, a state champions.
And she's at the free throw line tie game with 43 seconds to go.
She can knock down these free throws up by two.
Just play solid defense, disappear the ball.
But this 43 seconds, John, is going to be extended just a little bit because both teams, you know, they're going to foul, things are going to happen.
It's not about the different about free throws.
You got to get ball hands on both teams.
I think both teams handled the ball well.
Well, who can capitalize, who can make these free throws, who can make late shots here in the game?
It's the fact that Norcross doesn't have any blue dashes at the bottom of the screen.
Where are you?
The.
Yes.
And offensively, coach, he has a team right in front of her.
She's always giving them the game plan.
The first goal was to make you think about the free throws.
Now it's about to turn.
This is the maximum.
It's going to be a one point game.
Don't go down the court.
Take your time and take the best shot that you can get.
No timeouts left for no place for soccer in the kitchen, for miss.
The second infusion of rain but sticks with Norcross and Cooper almost went over the back and that would have been her fifth game.
30 seconds regulation tied at 50 Andrews Green Space and Gillespie in the corner and she dances already right up She's got to play she's out is already out there They know what's going to happen now ball screen it's up 10 seconds and you start to move fast.
Perry Griffin with the left with the screen.
Taylor Mason has a three to with credit drive safely signed by Grant 32 minutes does not decide it and justifiably so John you got two historic programs you got two awesome coaches.
It's only fitting that they take this game in overtime when his head to head against the two Giants basketball here in the state of Georgia got her hands up to disrupt the shot as Taylor Mason tried to drive and get it off the window.
Here's Angie Henry in the huddle.
I and you're just like that with you.
You've got to bring it back.
And it's philosophical art.
No, no, no, no, no.
Wait, wait, No.
Give me that.
John.
Here's the coach right here.
Here's the coach.
Here's the coach.
Four fouls right here for you to know quickly.
Has four fouls.
So you can't get caught in the emotion of going in all the time.
You cannot do it.
You can't be aggressive.
You got to be very patient.
You have to be decisive and very understanding.
Time to score in situations because it's here, picks it.
That's good foul John Norcross thing.
They're going to smell blue Nelson's all right Gray Folsom what do you have in listening to coach answering her final she invigorated she is fired up she's she repeated the drills four times We are still alive.
We are still alive.
She told them they're going to tip the ball.
She said it's going to be a defense of tip.
And she said, keep those hands up.
Keep those hands up.
She said, All that running we did all season long was not in vain.
Keep your energy level up.
We're still alive, guys.
Thank you, Grace.
And since we now have another 4 minutes up on the clock, Norcross gets a timeout back.
So they have one.
And it's like it's Jazz.
Clements and Allison Johnson won by McEachern.
Taya Cooper looking to drive left hand Scoop gets the roll.
Nice early job of avoiding the charge inside and Taylor with a nice game.
So John to start off the overtime Cooper has half McEachern points.
He has 20 of their 52 kick to the corner for three off the rim no Allison Johnson the rebound looking to put the rebound back now looking for help Mason looking to drive in the paint off the back of the rim No Johnson missed the rebound that time picked up by James Plymouth Jazz coming in Great job of box now securing the rebound zone This is going to happen You're up by two McEachern do you hold the ball to do your attack Is there early answer here Cooper Looking drive left hand leaves it for Tiera Lindsey three pointer from the top rim down Clement fighting for the rebound off the possession goes the other way Yeah definitely not the shot that coach author want he had started off the all the time play with 3 minutes to go up by two Yes you were open but did they need the three.
No John position no across.
One minute gone in the fifth period McEachern up two as we chase the six eight title on the girls side.
Coming up after this terrible broken wheeler for the six eight boys titles in the making coliseum right here on GPB being in the Macau Derby by Chanel Wilson That's Perry guarded by Taylor Cooper and that's the double team Flash there with Jada Lewis.
Lewis We go out for the wall offensively the pass was to a cutter instead more cross able to keep it being a McCaw 45 seconds and gone Johnson at the elbow looking to drive kick three pointer too much rebound by McEachern hands once again bounce Perry has it looking to drive now looking for help and she needs it under the bucket.
Gillespie missed Wow This is two good teams going at it trying to get teams going at it.
Definitely got a security rebound and bring it 100% in.
But the deflection, the tip there from kitchen was able to secure it again, nice swing step and no chance to tie the game the last game wanted that one and it's for a jazz Clemons goes three from West make a miss Johns look for some pressure coming from no calls trying to speed the game up trying to force a turnover to keep the ball out of people's hands.
Second free throw by Gillespie is good.
That gives her 21 more passes.
51 a minute, one went from the time that McEachern scored two more Cross got that point on the board runner up and in put Zeta Louis in the lead factor three Giannis said that tip of it's got to step up others got to step up individuals win games teams win championships everyone else is starting to step up here for the Indians in overtime.
How do you care for 410 seconds down three Nelson Johnson came forward to get into the front court That's Perry ten to be McCoy 23 guarded by Louis Louis with three to Cooper with four, James Clements with four drives Baseline Miss to Mrs. Johnson Johnson couldn't find a handle for Cooper hands in comes out with it 70 seconds to go McEachern up three and now back it out Passers almost too slow to tear Cooper ends up with it Reach in doesn't change anything.
Nice dance and a foul account.
Now that was terrific.
Great.
John at her best.
All night long, she didn't force it.
She let the defense make a mistake.
A teammate picked to the basket.
Nice finish.
I mean, that's what she does, John.
She's a playmaker.
She's a facilitator when she dominates the scoring books.
Yes, that's because that's what they need her to do.
The wishes that are best.
John, she finds that open player free throw is missed, but MacEachern comes up with the rebound Jazz Clements and they'll take back out Lindsay with six even though she missed the free throw And when this Norcross foul Cooper out of control Clements Lewis double team back in the hands of Taya Cooper and she stumbles Gillespie missed it three Joe Louis back the other way Clements crossed the target.
Cooper under 30 seconds, wins the foul.
Oh, when does the foul come?
No whistles.
We're down on the 20 seconds for scoring five point advantage.
Now, the foul comes at 11 inches.
I can't believe what I just saw.
But at the same time, John, I can understand Norcross as a young team.
They've got one scene this actively on the court.
So coach here, he has a young team.
And for a young team to understand that they've never been in situations like they have just John.
So, yes, that's expected from a young team.
That's not bad.
That's okay.
You're down by five with 11.6 to go.
She's got to make these free throws to make it the seven point game.
We'll see fouls on Keenan McCoy.
She fouls out with 11.6 and Jada Lewis averages 16, five and six assists.
Can I sit for MacEachern stirred every state type to possession game John you always got to think worst case scenario a lot of emotions coming from the Indians but they've got to think about the next play three possession game with 11.6.
Something has to happen quickly.
You've got to launch it hands in under three.
It's not going to happen.
Shoddy sort short MacEachern survives it over time for their third state title and round out pick maybe be.
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey.
What a weekend, man.
Wow, That's an honor word.
Wow.
I'm exhausted.
