[Music] that's a championship team right there welcome to blue devils stadium in norcross for another football friday in georgia tonight [Music] it's the 7a state playoff second round as the 7th ranked lounge vikings meet the fourth-ranked norcross blue devils a look at the bracket it will show you that lowndes a 92-61 winner over hill grove in the first round norcross a 24-10 winner over milton in the first round winner tonight's ball game advances to the quarterfinals to take on either south winnette or wesley and what a second round match-up we have between these two perennial state powers lowndes with five state championships most recently in 2007 the norcross blue devils with two state titles winning back to back in 2012 and 2013 in fact that's the only time that norcross and lounge have ever met in the 2013 quarterfinals the blue devils posting a 28-7 win in route to their state title [Music] and good evening i'm matt stewart joined by larry smith and larry this matchup between lowndes and norcross tonight again poses the ageless timeless football question what's better the great offense or the great defense and you will ask that question yet again you're right how about this lounge offense averaging almost 47 points per game they scored more than 90 last week in the win over hill grove but a tough defense in norcross only about 11 points allowed this would be a really good matchup for these two lounges led by michael barrett a year ago he was a sophomore starting linebacker this year he's the starting quarterback for the highest scoring team in 7a and one of the most dynamic players i've seen all season i think that was a good switch to put in a quarterback what do you think 40 total touchdowns 18 on the ground 22 through the air he'll get you one way or the other he is a dynamic player fun to watch tonight offensively norcross can score with the best of them but the real story this year has been their defense led by their linebacker monty montgomery yeah we've seen them before and boy he's a special player too one of many on this team 37 quarterback sacks uh 18 turnovers forced on this vikings defense i mean this blue devils defense i should say is outstanding norcross has given up more than two touchdowns in the game just one time the entire season third member of our team john nelson is planted on the sideline thank you very much matt good lounge offense let's go into a little more depth they've gotten over 500 yards in a game six times this year as a team they average over 230 yards on the ground by itself if they get another 800 yards they will have set a new record for team offense in a season and this is on an offensive line that only had one guy playing his natural position coming into the 2016 season and we talked about it in the pregame show we talked about it a little bit in the open 153 points 92 of them went to lowndes and there's your box score remember the game was 56-54 in the third quarter to outscore them 36-7 to get it to a 92-61 breaking a 144-point output with douglas a m and oscilla high back in 1922. that's what you're looking at when it comes to this lounge offense and we're going to have a look at this game we're going to have a look at all the games around the state rock mart up early 7 nothing also on the board stockbridge runs back the opening kick 16 seconds in they're up seven nothing in their complete to robert sims sims gets dropped by the safety ty moore taimir moore after a pickup of about eight on the plays we take a look at norcross on offense justin seek the quick tackle he returned after missing last season with injury that's been a big boost for this blue devils offense this year and you see jared simpkins he's got six offers including louisville cincinnati and east carolina second down and three simpkins goes in motion again handoff goes to nicholas sermons and sermons has the first down burel threw a block out there for him actually that was sims who threw the block and that's gonna be a first down at the 41 yard line as you take a look at the vikings on defense they've moved devon holmes the nose guard he leads their defensive line with 43 plus tackles jeffrey davis is the team's leading tackler with 74.5 total tackles on the season and in the secondary fred stewart with 55 tackles three interceptions a team leading 14 passes broken up first and 10 from the 41. pass is thrown short looking for michael cole that was a pass right there raclette didn't quite uh get a hold of that [Music] so second down and 10 after the pass was thrown incomplete to michael cole [Applause] blue devils averaging 37 and a half points per game 354 total yards of offense [Applause] [Music] handoff goes to clay harris the fullback and harris across the 50-yard line and down to the 45 as clay harris picks up the first down first down [Music] tackled by tommy owens in a first and ten for the blue devils at the 45 yard line clay harris 52 carries for 261 yards on the season and five touchdowns averages five yards per carry [Applause] [Music] [Applause] radcliffe gonna run changes hands picks up the first down stepping out of bounds at the 32-yard line they have not called on radcliff to run much this year but he has that ability and you saw it right there as he picks up the first down [Music] great vision by radcliffe to see the crease in the defense and take advantage of that picked up 13 on the play first and ten he's committed to play baseball at georgia tech but he does have five football offers and schools are still looking at him as a quarterback handoff goes to omar sinclair just a couple of yards on the play for sinclair as he gets tackled by devon holmes there's holmes we mentioned him a few moments ago he's the leading tackler on that defensive line and a young man that their head or their defensive coordinator david shores says is the bell cow of their defense [Applause] second down and eight with the ball at the 30-yard line and a time-out is going to be called i believe by lounge or is this an official's timeout looks like an official's timeout so second down and eight from the 30. simkin's in motion again heavy rush going deep and tamir jones got knocked down by the cornerback brent carter and that's gonna be pass interference on lounge well i like the play call right there matt that he tried to go deep with it you know coach malou talked about they wanted to kind of mix things up a little bit and you had a good point with with radcliffe and just uh you know how he again the run again kind of setting up any time he runs the way he's really grown as a passer as we talk about last year he always wanted to kind of run the ball and he's much smarter back there nice attempt to throw it deep and try to get it uh into your receiver here's one we'll look at it right here and he had a step on him right here nice toss and the interference to be first down from the blue devils on the penalty so first and ten for the blue devils from the 15-yard line handoff goes to sermon sermons made stewart miss and tackled by tommy owens at the 10-yard line and close to a five or six yard pickup right there for nicholas sermon so an impressive opening drive larry for the blue devils yeah sure is a good mix of everything you can't focus on any one player look at the number of guys already touched the ball second to carry out ready for sermons on this drive uh good job here though by the lounge defense to spread that out keep them to a minimal game so second down and five ball at the 10 yard line for the blue devils they have driven from their 70 or they have driven from their 21-yard line so approaching a 70-yard drive right now radcliffe throws incomplete trying to connect with robert sims inside the five-yard line sends that points last week as we talked in the pre-game that secondary very shaky and certainly norcross trying to exploit it right here in the opening drive third down and four with the ball just inside the yeah and roswell just gets the interception right there by lee anthony williams a pick six for lee anthony williams and roswell has taken a 12-nothing lead on peachtree ridge oh man that's another very good defense to look out for as we go deep into the playoffs at roswell d first third down situation here for norcross on this drive third down and four radcliffe wanted to run it he's going to take a loss back at the 17-yard line tackled in the backfield by elgin griffin yeah nice job right there watch big number 90 right here good penetration by this defensive line we talked about again needing to make a stop here in this norcross offense going right down the field that was a very big play on third down uh to force a fourth down now and try to hold norcross to only a field goal will tolbert in on that play as well and now this will be a 34-yard attempt cole hannah is three for five as long as the season is a 24 yarder this one's on its way and this one is going to be no good unable to hook it in there between the uprights cole hannah misses from 34 yards and we remain scoreless good distance on that but you're right matches couldn't quite hook it in it stayed straight on him but what a victory here in the opening minutes this visiting lounge vikings defense to hold norcross to take their best punch as you mentioned driving the field more than 70 yards and yet hold them without a score absolutely a huge victory for this vikings defense and now we get a chance to see this lounge offense the highest screen offense in all of 7a averaging 46.9 points per game they have scored less than 42 points just once in their last seven games and that was their 42-35 loss against caulkwood county michael barrett going up top on the very first play and looking for xavier jenkins so that answers your question would xavier jenkins be able to play tonight and yes he is he went deep on the very first play and here's a look at that offensive line for the vikings tucker williams is out with a knee injury barrett throws complete tisdale tisdale rammed out of bounds but a first down for the vikings yeah keon carter there on the tackle number 10 for norcross he's a player to watch nice play right here i like the patience here by barrett stop and see what wait for the play development a lot of young passers want to hurry to play too much he waits good speed on the outside nice pickup by lounge or out near midfield [Music] so first and ten for the vikings you see tisdale that was his 11th catch of the season he had 230 yards receiving coming in that's tyson harris on the carry on the jet sweep and harris picks up a couple of yards on the play jaylen pinckney was out there to blow it up i like what lounge is doing right now trying to get things going on the ground i haven't seen much of barry yet here in this opening drive nice sweet play right here great great defense to make that make that tackle yeah jalen pink he was able to get a hand on him and that was enough zone read barrick gonna take a loss and that's jalen pinckney again a big tackle by the vanderbilt commit to drop him for a loss he's one of these big time players on this norcross defense back to back plays there by pinkney watch him right here top of your screen number 44 comes through doesn't bite on the fake uh to the running back tisdale right there instead goes in and drops barrett for a big loss big play by this blue devils defense third down and 11 from the 45-yard line heavy rush barrett stands in there delivers downfield got a man but cannot connect jalen smith couldn't run under it and now it's gonna be fourth down well what exciting play that was in the face of the blitz i like the poise right here by barrett watch me look at all the black shirts coming at it gets good protection throws it up just a little bit long can't quite get that but norcross going after the 39th quarterback sack of the season not to wait until the next series fourth down they run a fake and tyson shaw is going to be close to the first down i think he's going to be short [Music] tyson shaw who is also their linebacker they run the fake and i think they're going to come up a yard short on a fourth and 11 fake punch that takes a lot of guts right there that sure does what a big play there by bryce calendar the senior defensive back number 22. watch this great play right here he's got the blockers but he actually kind of runs past his blockers he just kind of waited maybe one more moment turned it inside he might have where his blockers went might be able to get that last yard valiant effort like you said that's a gutsy call here early on by lounge and coach mcpherson bryce calendar came up with the big tackle for norcross on that play to keep the vikings from postponed another 15 minutes because of a bus breakdown so that's what happens sometimes when you get to these friday nights mca and lincoln county they still haven't started yet they're the last game 45-yard line first and ten [Applause] robert sims nice grab at the 43-yard line sims has really developed into a big-time wide receiver for the blue devils yeah he has coach baloof was saying you know he's so big he can just go and get a pass just throw it in the general area big ranging nice athletic watch this move right here i think you'll see a lot of passes on this drive they tried a little bit in the first series probably a lot more here nice throw right there not quite on the money doesn't matter close enough for the big six five sims to make the first down catch you know he's got a lot of mid major offers but at six six 205 pounds you got to figure somebody big time is going to get on top of this kid yep first down and 10 from the 44-yard line omar sinclair gets the handoff sinclair is going to be tackled by michael gentry after a pickup of about five on the play running a little more than i thought they would course it's early on but i thought they'd pass a lot more well you know coach malouf told us they're just going to keep running the ball they feel like if they keep running the ball they're eventually going to get there with that running game just keep wearing on it nicholas sermons and sermons going to be tackled by jeffrey davis and a first down for the blue devils well into your point and watch this here's the replay here in sermons watch the hole right there nice block to free him great job there by servants to your point i mean they're they're moving the ball i mean they they stopped late uh on that last series but really they're doing it just about really kind of whatever they want to so far here in the first quarter yeah lounge came up with one big play the quarterback sack on the third down play and then the blue devils missed a 34-yard field goal or else they would have gotten points on the board already [Music] first and ten from the 32 they run a reverse burel with a block out there burel inside the 25 inside the 15th flag is out and this one's going to come back guerrelle scores the touchdown but we have a block in the back i believe at the 15-yard line either that or a hold that but yeah either way it's going to come back you're right i like the play call though get your speedster burrell out in open space make some things happen but it's going to come back [Music] penalties have been a big issue for the blue devils this season the average 98 yards per game in penalties we were both right yeah there was a clip and a hold on and so the vikings are going to take the clip see if we can see then find it oh there it was right there there was a clip there in the uh right there by the live and then here's the hole we talked about later on the hole yeah number three that's uh bri anthony carter trying to get free and can't so you may wonder if you're at home if you don't understand that the the holding play they would have gotten some yardage and then 10 yards back from that but the clip after the light of scrimmage so it goes all the way back then and then another 10 yards behind that so that's why they picked that penalty so first and 24 now from the 47-yard line they set up the screen pass and clay harris gonna be dropped gang tackled at the 47-yard line and a flag comes out as well you have a late hit right there that lounge defense i was just going to say good aggressive tackling and they've done a really nice job of seeing on these screenplays remember a little face mask here we'll see if you find it in the replay see what happens radcliffe dropping back sets up the screen so we finale rebounded from that loss to the packers had a week off and then beat hillgrove 92-61 in the first round of the state playoffs first and eight now that can't be right first and ten at the 19-yard line robert sims already has three catches in this game yeah the biggest six-six senior watch this third down play you need something go to your sure hands man nice pitch and throw right here puts it right down there just below the numbers sims makes the catch their first down a nice third down play by norcross to keep this drive alive three catches 33 yards for sims tonight he came in with 19 catches for 342 and a team leading six touchdowns radcliffe guns for the end zone and looking for simkins incomplete about that game last week 92-61 lounge over hill grove uh producer steve graham just telling us by this time last week they're already 42 points scored in the game a little bit of a difference in the week absolutely norcross has dominated not dominated this game offensively they've held the ball most of the quarter seven first downs already for the blue devils they have yet to crack the scoreboard though second down and ten sermons comes to the near side sermons runs into tommy owens and gets stopped in his tracks at the 17-yard line and tamira moore is there too number 28 uh nice gain tackling here the lounge defense so far uh has been impressive after again giving all those points last week sermons come around your living room screen get all those red helmets just going right for the ball great play by this vikings defense down and seven they just converted on a third down and ten moments ago now facing another third and long situation as we are under two minutes to play here in the first quarter play clock down to four radcliffe fires looking again for sims this time incomplete actually not sims this time that's isaiah mccoy who was the intended target he has only four catches on the season but he's a big target two at six three 180 and it's fourth down and let's see if the blue devils try another field goal here looks like they're going to you know i'm not sure radcliffe if i've been some kind of miscommunication there you had two receivers right in the same spot two defenders as well threw the ball a little high i'm not sure that's really the way they wanted to have that play and be executed cole hannah has already missed a 34-yard attempt it was on the other side of the field now he tries another 34-yard attempt in the left hash kick is no good [Applause] that one sailed on him and so cole hannah has missed two field goals of 34 yards here in the first quarter watch this ball once again i'm not sure he got yeah make sure he got the laces turned around he just hooked it that's the hook that he needed on the left that's right exactly his last kick went straight kicking from the right hash the first time he needed to hook it kicking from the left hash he needed to kick it straight exactly so he had it backwards and therefore he's missed 234 34-yard attempts you know interesting too talking to coach malout this week matt and he was telling us that you know he really felt if one thing it's it's a strength of his team is the kicking down but it hasn't shown so far the two missed field goals so the vikings back on offense at the 20-yard line barrett throws that's complete to tyson harris and harris driven out of bounds after a pickup of about six on the play tyson harris the leading receiver on this team with xavier jenkins out that was his 37th catch of the year now watch barrett right here locks in his receiver that's the guy that he wants nice job right here this lounge off and trying to get on track after a couple of first downs in the first drive so second down now from the 26 and a half under a minute to play in the quarter second down and three michael barrett has thrown for 2307 yards on the season coming into tonight 22 touchdowns he's also rushed for over a thousand yards and he picks up the first down right there at the 31-yard line nazir tsai making the tackle for the blue devils you look at michael barrett and the poise he has for this lounge offense it's hard to believe he was a linebacker for this team a year ago he's got great poise this money he's been playing this position for a long time and he's just getting started his young career see his numbers what he's done right there more than 3 300 total yards this season and again the 40 touchdowns as we talked about in the pre-game that's 303 303.8 yards per game of total off wow in high school weighted his turn behind three-year starter austin dixon first and ten for the vikings complete to harris harris gets by a man harris down the 40 the 30 and harris finally run out of bounds inside the 25-yard line well that's the play that lounge was waiting for right there and a great job here by harris give barrett credit uh for threading the needle getting it right to him here's the replay for you watch this barrett he liked the matchup already you can see right then he liked that he had him on 101 coverage the defender was playing back gets in the hands of a speedster and let him do the rest he was so excited to get that ball he didn't look anywhere else in the direction of number four tyson harris the big play right there and lounge all of a sudden in business inside the 25 of norcross and you saw keon carter who's had just a great season for the blue devils he slipped when he came over to try to make the tackle he slipped and fell down and that opened the door for tyson harris to have the big run down to the 23-yard line and there is a man down and that is keon carpenter i'm probably keon carter who fell down on that play as we check in with john nelson yeah it happened right in front of me matt when he slipped on the plant it was his hamstring that gave and that's what he pointed to when the medical staff and our buddy harris patel came out they were looking at the hamstring from the absolute moment they came out on the field so it was a plant and a twist that affected keon's hamstring on the turn keon carter's had just a fabulous season for this team replaced kendrick grady who signed with georgia state here's one more look at it right there top of your screen number 10 right there watch him here as john was saying on the plant oh yeah his leg got twisted up underneath him too yeah when he slid yeah he's now on the sidelines he's not putting any weight on that we'll watch him and hopefully come back in the game here for norcross could be the final play of the first quarter first and ten for lowndes at the 23.

didn't score they didn't need two in that ball game so first and ten actually second and seven for the vikings at the 20-yard line to start the second quarter tisdale gets the handoff tisdale picks up the first down tisdale touchdown [Applause] won an effort by travis tisdale in this loudoun's uh i'm sorry lounge vikings offense i'm just about to say if you're just tuning in don't adjust your tv set yes a scoreless first quarter between lounge and norcross with all the points these two offenses are known to put up a great job there the vikings get in first in a two-point conversion paul short he tried the wildcat didn't get anywhere that is just the second time all season long they have failed on a two-point conversion they had been 10 for 11 on two-point conversion tries for the season but marcus gary gets stopped short here's the 20-yard touchdown run by tisdale tcsg touchdown replay right there just a great job good speed gets to the outside use this blocker as well you take a look and look at the guys right there in front of him out in front great play and right there gets the overrun it was number 24 daryl porter who overruns it the linebacker for by the blue devils and that's number six travis tisdell that takes advantage takes the rest and takes it in for their first score lounge drawing first blood here in norcross so after getting shut out in the first quarter the vikings go five plays 80 yards takes some 97 seconds and lowndes takes a six-nothing lead and you know you talked about the norcross kicking game well lounge doesn't have a great kicking game they've only attempted two field goals the entire year but they will go for two as they tried right here in the field yeah watch number 48 gary marcus right there lines up never really got anywhere in fact he might have even i lost the ball but it that that play went nowhere fast he did fumble the ball so the short kick is going to be taken at the 20-yard line by sinclair omar sinclair with simpkins out there blocking for him trying to turn the edge and he's going to get stopped at the 30-yard line brent carter making the tackle on special teams and so norcross will have it let's see if they spot it shy of the 30 i think the 27 i think is where they're gonna put it 27-yard line for the blue devils to begin their third possession of the game i'm gonna call you eagle eye nice job [Applause] all right norcross what have you got so far they've driven the ball they've driven the ball a lot they've had two long drives that have come up empty with missed field goals so far in this settle down just a little bit he's a really talented young man really developed this year as a passer not just a runner as you mentioned before last year when he just several passes just off today and one of its completions was one that sims had to reach out for that third down play in the first quarter so second down and 10 coming up for the blue devils norcross 11 and 0. they went 14-8 the last two seasons combined after winning those two state titles pass incomplete at the 34-yard line simpkins again the target and he's now three for 11 for 33 yards all three of his completions have been to robert sims yeah yeah he's over eight with everybody exactly gets a good call well he's just been a little off it's too high that one was too low and you made the point earlier coach malouf told us that uh you know sims was a great target for radcliffe because he didn't have to be perfect with him because he's a six six target right but he has been off the mark with everybody else third down and 10. setting up a screen pass instead they're going to crank it deep looking for simpkins simkins makes the catch inside the 35-yard line and out of bounds at the 29. actually that's tamir jones number seven not number one tamir jones with the big time catch that's the play they've been looking for right here rack left good patience just lost it up and lets his speedy receiver go underneath it and grab that tamira jones watch him here i said slow up just a little bit for it but good concentration make sure you make that catch don't get too fancy with it big play for the blue devils that's the play that norcross and coach fellow thinks is out there against the secondary because it's got to be able to find those plays and make them happy team leading 27th catch of the season for the georgia state commit first and 10 from the 28 yard line and movement on that offensive line and then [Music] some the center sam dingle was moving and so was joshua mozan now i think mozan the first guy to see the senior devin bennett grab him there by the shoulder pads just some encouragement first and 15 now from the 33.

[Applause] going for the home run streaking open and making the catch jared simkins jared simpkins with his third touchdown catch of the season baron radcliffe goes deep twice on the drive and the blue devils have tied the game well here's the secret for baron radcliffe stop at the underneath stuff just start going deep two fantastic throws right on the money that was a great play right there that you kind of had a couple of receivers in the area and simkin comes up with a big-time catch and it's the blue devils who finally get on the board here early in the second quarter no scoring in 12 minutes we've had two touchdowns in less than a minute in the second quarter exactly cole hanna on for the p-a-t 43 out of 45 this season he's perfect on that one too and norcross is taking a 7-6 lead check out the tcsg touchdown replay matt on this one watch radcliff here the nice timing on this pass he's got a couple receivers deep he's looking for right away sees throws it deep two receivers right there and you've got the defender that falls down look at this from the other angle from the other end zone radcliffe with the good arm had sims right there look at the great hands that way jared simkins make that catch one more look the iso on radcliff just a nice throw he throws a nice ball perfectly thrown touchdown and norcross takes the lead again just amazing again 12 minutes with no scoring and in 44 seconds we've had two touchdowns just like that by these two powerhouses four plays 63 yards the long touchdown catch by simkins the long catch by tamir jones set it up simpkins with six offers including louisville cincinnati and east carolina [Applause] we've got a lot of weapons on this north cross offense and you can see where the kicking game could factor in this ball game as lounge went for two and failed after their first touchdown norcross got the single p-a-t and has the lead kick will not be returned as it goes through the back of the end zone so the vikings will have the ball at the 20-yard line and now we've got a game you know it's funny one of the things coach bellew told us he said we really want to try to score quickly if we can likes his offense the balance of his offense um 35 seconds in that touchdown that was that touchdown drive that's pretty quick i think yeah that's how they've won a lot of their games this year jump out to a big lead with a quick strike offense and turn things over to their defense [Applause] barrett keeps on the zone read picks up the first down and more barrett across the 50-yard line there he goes he is pulling away michael barrett 80-yard touchdown run wow how you like me now [Applause] 41st touchdown on the season and once he had a hole you gotta look at the really great breakaway speed on this young michael barrett boy what a play i told you in our all-access pass pre-game show he is one of the most dynamic players i have seen all season you saw his skill right there and his great speed just out running everybody in the north cross secondary and you've got this secondary you've got some speedy players this is this is not just any secondary they're outstanding they're going for two again they might be doing this all night folks barrett throwing got a man oh and it's dropped [Applause] [Music] that was devon holmes the nose guard that they sent out to catch the pass on the two-point conversion and he dropped it that was a well-designed play too oh my goodness and he knows it boy he'd love to have that one back [Music] let's look here at the conversion lounge trying to make it the six yard line and simpkins up to the 29-yard line before being dropped right there by kadeem bergman and that's where the blue devils will go back on offense yeah i don't see a flag there and he just grabbed the back of his collar not a face mask in case you're at home you wonder do we have time radcliffe see his numbers right now five at thirteen hundred and seven yards the one touchdown but really most of those on just the two completions they're late in that drive otherwise he really had struggled up until then so first and ten ball at the 29 yard line for norcross they go back on again and cole can't run under it fred stewart on the coverage michael cole couldn't run under it and it's going to be second down yeah the northwest fans booing and on the sidelines some of the coaches too they wanted a flag right there in fact look coach malouf he's going to talk to the referee right there and ask what happened i think that what they're saying is it wasn't a catchable ball he was not going to be able to catch the ball coach blue arguing his case but it's going to fall on deaf ears it'll be second down for the blue devils second down and ten ball is at the 29-yard line line there over on the near side he's their big wide receiver they're going his direction he makes the catch at the 45-yard line xavier jenkins is going to be run down at the 12-yard line you could tell he doesn't have full speed he's got that big brace on his left knee which he injured just three weeks ago but he makes a big catch and gets it down inside the 15-yard line this is just what gamers do veterans look at this makes the nice catch he said he's hampered didn't have the speed the agility he'd like to have but boy what a big play right here for the vikings and all of a sudden boy this offense is on the run what a huge play by xavier jenkins after making that catch and run he goes back over to the sideline you can tell he's not 100 but that was a 100 catch right there great effort jd lee on the carry for the vikings and he gets stopped after about a yard and a half game [Applause] so second down and nine i don't know what they did during the break but this lounge offense has found itself here in the second quarter [Applause] harris goes in motion handoff to tisdale and tisdale right up to the four yard line and that's going to be close to a first down for the vikings ball was just off by radcliff that was one where he had his receiver tamira jones was open if the ball is thrown deeper but he under throws it that allows stewart to come under and grab it as you think of his fourth pick and boy another momentum turn in the direction of the visiting lounge vikings so first and ten [Applause] for the vikings at the 10-yard line and they have exploded here in the cornerback but that's a nice pickup for the vikings on first down and was to talk about this lounge offense and how quickly they score this is already their fourth offensive series in this quarter another long touchdown run that's 83 yards and the vikings have a 25-7 lead unbelievable man folks if you're just joining us just walking in and sitting down this was a scoreless game at the end of the first quarter loudoun scored a touchdown on the first play the second quarter and i don't know somehow they got their juicers going just their third game they played outside of valdosta yeah all 83-yard touchdown run by lounge and i don't think a defender touched either one of them no and they outran the second beer yeah yeah and again the play gets blown dead the vikings are trying to pooch kick the ball away from jacoby burrell who had the big 60-plus kick return the last time he touched the ball you really can't blame him on that that's what i call a timeout i think we had a timeout called and not a penalty on a kick strange john nelson what you got yeah that was a time out you got to get everything squared away you get one penalty called one time you just want to make sure that second time that everything is lined up on both sides of the ball because norcross is actually having lineup problems trying to remember that they had to go back to the 45 for this particular kick a change right now it is all quiet on the norcross side what a devastating show of offense and good defense as well the lounge of that interception there right at the goal line to set up that last touchdown and kick is going to be taken at the 17-yard line by simpkins and simpkins up to the 30-yard line and that's where the blue devils will go back on offense tackle made by jamari hill on special teams for the vikings so baron radcliffe and the norcross offense have their work cut out for him i tell you what with the way lounge scores and scores so quickly you might want to get together a running game to eat up some clock and just keep the ball out of lounge hands yeah and to keep your defense on the sideline for now let him get a breather um eventually you're gonna have to come up with some stops on the lounge offense but maybe running the ball and moving the sticks that way if you can do it might be the best way to go right here nicholas sermons picks up about five this way and burel is gonna eventually go down at the 36-yard line shahari boone making the did a lot of running just to get back to the line of scrimmage well you know this lounge defense we've talked about again giving up all the points last week 61 points against hill grove the combined 153 points a new state playoff record but the strength of this vikings team is in their front line if there's any if there's any level their defense that's the strongest it is the front line and they're really kind of winning the battle up front right here in the first uh first half third down and five north cross to the air going for the home run tamir jones out there and broken up at the last moment by brent carter brent carter converted wide receiver to cornerback broke it up and now it's gonna be fourth down and carter's been uh a bright spot in this secondary here for lounge they wanted to fly this is just a great player to watch this but again radcliffe throws a bit under look at tamir jones has to slow down to wait for it that allows carter to catch up slaps the ball great job to slap it away that's not a penalty that's just a great defensive play by carter i don't know that i agree with that larry well no i i think you need to run the ball right there i think you're getting a little bit too anxious about being down there's still a lot of time to play i don't think you experimenting with allowing face guarding so if you see hands in the air blocking the receiver this is an experimentation this year that they're allowing for a face guard on defensive place so you see the left hand goes up right in the face mask that is allowed this year when it comes to the ghsa rule so something to pay attention to down the line about face guarding on these deep plays as you're seeing them all night long here thank you nelly free safety keon carter still has not come back into the ball game so right now blue devils are playing two men down two starters down in their secondary j.d lee on the carry and lee gonna be tackled by daryl porter after picking up about four or five yards on the play and matt to be fair about this north cross defense all 25 points have been scored since carter went down with that apparent hamstring injury there late in the first quarter well carter their leading tackler in the secondary number 10 he's still on the sideline and again damien williams number eight not playing tonight with a knee injury he's a three-star cornerback committed to georgia tech under five minutes now to play here in the half [Applause] j.d lee goes in offense off the field right now because your defense is gassed five touchdowns in less than nine minutes for the lounge vikings 41-yard touchdown catch for xavier jenkins he was a game time decision they made the right decision they did to go with him you know i think too that puts them up near 450 yards of total offense here in the first half that was a 68-yard drive right there wow they're gonna be close to 500 at halftime short kick going to be taken at the 19-yard line by simpkins simkins weaves through the defense gonna be tackled at the 41. brent carter making that tackle and we have a face mask perhaps coming up on the vikings [Music] john nelson what you got yeah bank on that face mass penalty moving an extra 15. let's kick tell you what's going on down in south georgia back and forth and you want to take another game that's got the over here you go second quarter caulkwith the touchdown pass 45-21 second quarter at the hog pin nine seconds left to go first half so conquer putting up some big numbers upper right in your seven a bracket guys replay that play that uh face masking penalty right there pretty obvious 15-yard penalty that'll give norcross some great starting field position here let's see if they can take advantage so that gives them the ball at the 44-yard line and you know and i said on the last possession i felt like they needed to run the ball but now they've fallen behind by four touchdowns they're almost in a situation where they got to abandon that that's true because you got to get stops on defense now you are in a shootout game yeah you may have lost the opportunity to run the ball here radcliffe throws complete the burel at the 37-yard line he gets driven out of bounds by tyson shaw at the 32 and that'll be a first down yeah i mean you now you're down 26 points four scores and you've shown no ability to stop lounge whatsoever no in the second quarter yeah now you're gonna have to score you're gonna have to score like they do as quick as possible and you're gonna have to come up with some turnovers if you're the norcross blue devils sims behind him again radcliffe was off and do it behind him as you said in this lounge offense they've already racked up 500 yards in a game six times this season and they've if they get the ball back here they might do it in the first half more than 500 yards it's unbelievable what this offense is doing tonight you saw radcliffe's numbers he's seven for 20. he's 60 completion for the season he is off tonight and you can see the body language he looks extremely disappointed he's going to have to overcome that if they're going to have any chance to come back again going up top for sims jump ball broken up by brent carter again another super play by brent carter that is the second time in this quarter that brent carter has broken up a potential touchdown catch oh he's been outstanding you know they talked about this lounge secondary being maybe the achilles heel of this defense not so far tonight thanks to carter look at this this is just a great play he's given up about five or six inches to sims he's in front of him makes the great play on it it's just outstanding defense third down and 10 and our kamatsu forklifts keys to the game that was one of the keys for lounge their secondary had to step up and they have so far tonight dropping eight look at that three-man rush and dropping eight [Applause] good luck finding a wide receiver open and radcliffe can't find anybody throws intercepted at the 19-yard line that's what happens when you drop eight will tolbert with the pick his second of the season [Applause] radcliff should have taken off and run right there yeah that's one where yeah should have just nothing's there nothing's there don't force it he does and you don't lock the ball up either with all those white shirts around uh this is one he'd like to have back right there one more look at it he sees he's got two white shirts lofts it up but yeah and that's one where you go to your athleticism and you want to put the ball under your arm tuck and run because the problem is 249 yeah this off it scores so fast they may score again i was getting ready say they got time to score two touchdowns they do 49.

33-7 and now the vikings back on offense barrett throws and that's complete with xavier jenkins third catch of the game for jenkins as he's tackled by malik mayes what a gutty performance by xavier jenkins he's showing me something here yeah this is a college prospect he doesn't have to come back and play but he's come back to play and he's not 100 you can tell just by the way he runs he's got three catches for 116. impressed by that young man tonight every catch matt sorry has been been impressive the effort he's i agree with you and it's been key every every catch tyson harris on the jet sweep and he's up to the 31-yard line and he's picked up the first downer close to it and now tempers flare a little bit with 205 to play in the half [Music] this is what an just showing by lowndes norcross had given up only 118 points the entire season in 11 games they've given up 33 points here in less than two quarters to this vikings offense highest scoring team in 7a that pass behind jenkins might have been deflected and i think it's the only thing that has not gone well for lounge this entire second quarter now it's second down and 10. norcross absolutely has to keep lounge from scoring here before the half yeah second down to 10. and even at that you look at that if they can stop them before getting to the they still got to come up with four stops and score four times right in the second half right i don't know how they're going to do that barrett running going to go down nice open field tackle by terion dangerfield to keep him from getting out and rolling one more look at it here great play by dangerfield finally a good push up front they broke through that offensive line there by lowndes and a good pursuit of barrett to bring him down before you get going barrett passing tonight eight of ten for 216 yards and a touchdown oh yeah and he's had two touchdown runs including an 80 yard touchdown run on top of that [Applause] third down and eight [Applause] vikings do have two timeouts remaining and the play clock runs all the way down to zero before lowndes burns a timeout i'm not sure what this feels like this is their longest drive of the second quarter they've spent wasted no time scoring the entire way lounge vikings five state championships randy mcpherson leading them to two of them in 2004-2005-2007 they've made it to the quarterfinals or better in 10 of the last 20 years winning 193 games of the last 20 years 11 region titles and after four coaches the first eight years the school was an existence football program starting in 1966 they've had only four coaches in the last 40 years and for the last 15 years that man right there in the hoodie has been there head coach he won a state title in florida before coming north to lounge where he's won three more you know something too he was telling us as we talked to him this week randy mcpherson that he and his islam's team they know maloof and norcross himaloo says their friends have met over the years in coaching camps and uh scrubbing together the past couple years yeah this is actually the fourth meeting they've had over the last five years they met first of all in the 2013 quarterfinals norcross won that game 28-7 in route to the state titles and then they've had their pre-season scrimmages against each other each of the last two years so third down in eight tisdale on the carry and tisdale gonna be short of the first down so clock continues to run lown's not in a hurry here neither is norcross it's gonna be fourth down and about two and a half or three at the 38. so a time-out called by norcross they waited a long time to call that time out if they wanted to get the ball back they let about 16 seconds burn off the clock before they use their timeout norcross blue devils two-time state champions they won it back to back in 2012 and 2013 went 15-0 in 2012 13-2 and 20-13 winning back-to-back state titles six region titles maloof has led them to all but the 1991 region title made the playoffs 11 of the last 12 years they had only five playoff appearances before 2005 and you can see the bulk of their success has come under keith malouk in the last 18 seasons great job he has done here but he's got his work cut out for him now and he said not only just stop lounge but find a way to come up with four touchdowns of your own here in the second half talk about this lounge offense follow me here they've played six playoff quarters here in the past two weeks they've scored 28 points or more in four of those quarters not in a game in a quarter 125 total points in six quarters yeah bad kick by shaw goes out of bounds let's see where they spot it this could play a big role in what norcross does here with 29 seconds left depending upon where they spot this ball out wow they're going to spot it at the 49. so i think norcross is going to take a shot or two here yeah so that worked out well for norcross the only problem i have with it was they wasted way too much time before they called their timeout yeah yeah and you know you go back and and and they'll review this obviously here at halftime but the missed opportunities in the beginning of the game across his offense both times they had the ball the first two times drove right down the field got down around the 20 and two miss not only didn't get the in the end zone missed two field goals they dominated the game offensively the first 12 minutes yeah they held the ball of the law they had the most yardage they had the most time of possession came up empty yeah did they miss their opportunity [Applause] remains to be seen radcliffe back to pass throws kobe burrell the intended target and again radcliffe off the mark well the rest of the the game is going to be tough for this young man because now just like you saw right there they're only rushing three as they've got eight men drop back and so he's got to be he's already struggled with his accuracy in this game he's got to be even more on point the final 24 minutes here if this team has a chance to come back with all those defenders uh the guys in white shirts he's got to throw around yeah well when they rush three drop eight he's gonna have to run some here to loosen up this defense make them tighten things up a little bit radcliffe gonna take a big loss back at the 34-yard line at this point i think you just got to take a knee and get to the locker room yeah just let it run out come back and regroup looks like that's what they're gonna do someone needs to give that young man a pep talk yeah shake it off top second quarter for norcross what an incredible second quarter by the lounge vikings i don't know if i've ever seen anything quite like that 33-point explosion by the vikings in the second quarter and they take a 26 point lead to the locker room and john nelson has randy mcpherson standing by on the sideline i know in the past it used to be the mayflower moving company now it's the sons of thunder you take a great deal of pride in that offensive line that second quarter they really came to they did they're playing hard right now we just got to keep working keep playing because that's a really good football team over there defensively you rush three you rush four you drop seven and eight and you're frustrating them they're playing very well you know uh i'm proud of those guys we just got to keep it up and man of very short words that's what happens even when you know you've got a 26-point lead mark and jackie he thinks he's got a lot more work to do half-time show starts right now can we call him the bill belichick of high school football i love it one word answers gotta go 92 points last week i know zero in the first quarter then 33 in the second quarter halftime is coming at leading norcross by 26 at 33.7 here with coach malouf what was it like in that locker room at the break oh we're fine i mean there's no panic in our group we got things open we just needed to score those first two missed the field goals got us a little out of whack a little bit but and then defensively we're not used to playing and we haven't played well tackled lost our free safety early so that kind of hurt us on some time but we're okay i mean we're gonna fight to the end no matter what lion's got a great football team we've got a great football team baron just got a little off there in the second quarter but overall we got what we want we just need to execute i was going to say how is keon he's okay i think it's spring knee right now but when you're playing fast people spraying knees set you back a little bit thanks for your time all right thank you all right he's got some work to do climbing up a 26 point mountain guys here's a look back at the first half highlights and look at that travis tisdale nearly lost the ball got it back off of his back scored the 20-yard touchdown and then norcross only score on the touchdown pass from radcliffe to simkins yeah right there we thought we've got ourselves quite a game all this in the first minutes of the second quarter and then that vikings defense takes off michael barrett look at this 80 yards untouched and the floodgates are open matt and this is where you miss keon carter right there on the back end as barrett takes it 80 yards after barrett scored on a five yard touchdown run tisdale took it 83 yards yeah just again these both of these guys combined 163 yards and these two carries and they were cruising at this point three touchdowns in the first 315 scored in the second quarter and they weren't done yet look at the nice catch here by xavier jenkins hey that's a nice grab right there barrett two touchdown runs and a touchdown throw as part of that huge 33 point second quarter 270 rushing yards wow for lowndes in the first half almost 100 yards more than the total yards for norcross yeah and look at the time of possession lounge scoring so fast uh norcross actually had the ball longer in that first half but it's lounge with the huge advantage as colton luther mentioned those two missed opportunities on the first two drives they drove the ball right down the field did whatever they wanted to do but wound up with missed field goals in the end how big and what a different game this would be if they've gotten touchdowns there it might instead be a 33-21 game instead the blue devils have a long way to go and a big hole to dig out of here in these final 24 minutes and lounge will be receiving the second half kickoff you know you and i were talking about it uh during the halftime show you just do the math i mean not only does norcross have to score four touchdowns to catch up they've got to stop the vikings on four possessions which they have not shown an ability to do yet tonight no no they haven't and on top of that again stop them here they have not stopped them since the first quarter uh unless you take out again there at the end of the final play there final series of the second half the second quarter but to your point on offense baron ratchet the guy getting to get baron going uh and get him i think do some things the on the ground to break up that off that defense the third quarter kickoff is brought to you by heads up georgia don't text and drive distracted drivers take lives and camarda drills it that is a close to 70-yard kick off the foot of camarda so the 20-yard line for the vikings to start this third quarter michael barrett in the ball game 8-10 passing for 216 yards and a touchdown seven carries 96 yards and two touchdowns one of them was an 80 yard touchdown run he's impressive he really is look at what he's done everything has gone right for him slow start there in the first quarter we mentioned just their third game they played the entire season outside of the city of valdosta and maybe a little road jitters there in the first opening few minutes but the second quarter was as impressive as i've seen uh at any time anywhere man first and ten from the 20-yard line harris goes in motion though throwing the ball out there at the 15. harris gets by two men and harris still on his feet and harris all the way up to the 44 yard line harris should have been dropped for about a five yard loss instead it's a 24-yard pickup well let's count the black shirts you actually had a hand on him right here matt nice play right here the screen play count the guys around him okay there's one that misses there's two there's three four five six and then finally bring him down i mean half the team had it could have brought him could have could have dropped to the ground tyson harris wow his mom was a basketball and track coach there at lowndes high school barrett going up top and off the hands of jalen smith [Music] it was almost points another touchdown that's right boy how close that was one more look at it here matt barrett that's a nice throw as you said he's as impressive as we've seen boy that one back i don't know if michael barrett will be a quarterback at the next level but he's going to play some position and at a big time school yeah he is a phenomenal football player second down and 10. smith goes in motion handoff goes to jd lee and lee pulls his way across the 50-yard line down to the 49. here's how impressive this loudoun's offense has been we haven't called his number since the first quarter we all that scoring happened in the second quarter without jd lee yeah i think he touched the ball in the entire quarters the scores were so fast there weren't many plays from scrimmage for the vikings four carries 26 yards for lee in the game it's third down and four from the 50. keeper barrett not going to get there terry on dangerfield might have been the biggest tackle of the game right there for norcross absolutely fifth tackle of the night for terry on dangerfield and now the vikings have to punt really big play barrett right here just waits for his blocking but look at dangerfield comes out from the backside makes the play first or fourth down and uh all of a sudden now they have a couple of back-to-back stops there at the end of the first half and now i'm here let's see if the offense can get going tyson shaw averages 35 yards per punt this season it's gonna hit between the two receivers burel picked it up at the five yard line he should not have done that it looked like he was going to bounce into the end zone he covers the punt at the five and takes a big loss on the return big mistake by burel right here watch he should let that thing go all the way through and that adds a good speed to it [Music] yeah that's the kind you get away from [Music] well now let's see what norcross can do on offense nothing doing there in that uh first half except again the two long drives that wound up in missed field goals as you mentioned to start the game and then the touchdown pass from radcliffe there early in the opening minute of the second quarter otherwise it they've got nothing tonight first and ten from the five yard line for the blue devils let's see if the second half is better for radcliff than the first and a flag thrown on the blue devils [Music] so a false start half the distance to the goal [Music] first down and 12 is what they're calling it yep radcliffe was seven of 23 passing for 122 yards a couple of interceptions and the one touch yard touchdown pass to simkins of 33 yards so an inauspicious start to the third quarter for the norcross offense after a good start to the second half with the norcross defense so first and 12 now ball is spotted at the three i think the officials are going to make the lounge band stop playing they're right down there by the lounge band and so you see that you can see they're celebrating and trying to make as 33-yard touchdown catch and now camardo will kick off and he will boom this one deep and out of the back of the end zone or out of the side of the end zone so the 20-yard line for the vikings and this is where the norcross defense is really going to have to step up and come up with some three and outs really because lounge is certainly capable of ball control as well and if you're the vikings you perhaps maybe start thinking that way yeah i think so uh try to burn some clock um and that that may be hard for them to do because they've scored so quickly so so many of these touchdowns so the vikings go back on offense at the 20-yard line and up 40-14 in this fourth quarter the third quarter [Applause] barrett and barrett's still on his feet picks up about eight on the play and he had a face mask there at the end they got away with uh against barrett you know this was we talked with coach malouf matt during the week as we taking a look here at michael barrett and the power uh and you know they always tell you keep your legs moving keep your legs moving and that's what barrett does look at the guys not just the power going north south but the agility like a you know a top running back to bounce side to side and make guys miss second down and two ball is at the 28 yard line [Applause] barrett again first down flag out bear it across the 40 across the 50. and barrett finally shoved out of bounds they can't get him on the ground and there is going to be a holding call is going to come back but michael barrett i love watching this kid play [Applause] i'll tell you what guys that just they just see the game and play the game differently and and barrett's that guy mcpherson told us that he knew that barrett would be a good quarterback here in his junior season but he's even exceeded his expectations yeah credits quarterback coach jim henry doing just an outstanding job with him moving from starting linebacker last year to the quarterback of the highest scoring team in 7a going deep oh man wide open jalen smith dropped at the 25-yard line yes sir young man you've got a first down well he makes amends for that drop touchdown pass earlier this quarter that he had the ball right at his fingertips and let it slip right through that would have ended up in the end zone for six more points we'll look at this again to your point about barrett the good poise here pocket breaks down he could run instead he sees a man open he's got him back behind the defense it's a little bit under thrown but what a big play here for these lounge vikings and this offense well over 500 yards now in the night 47 yard pickup on that play jd lee on the carry and now we get that running clock back into play here because if the vikings can score a touchdown before the end of the quarter you're basically going to put a nail in the norcross coffin yeah absolutely and they may have already done that i mean you can see the score yourself but that running clock is going to be the key to any kind of a comeback attempt by nordcross and the vikings shooting for it right here tyson harris with the grab gets dropped by monty montgomery at the 15-yard line and harris wanted a taunting call against monty montgomery not gonna get it yeah just look at the scoreboard keep playing young man it's you know right scoreboard takes care of everything doesn't it that's right sure does montgomery clearly said something to him out of frustration uh after that but you know this was keith maloof's biggest concerns we talked to him he said you know we just we can't let them get going and boy they got going early second quarter and have not stopped ever since man third down and three harris gets the handoff and harris gets the first down jalen pinckney hit him but couldn't stop him and harris falls forward and picks up the first no and that's big as pinckney is about as good as they come when it comes to wrapping guys up one of the top uh defenders here in this uh blue devils unit but you know there's been and we've got a flag now i'm not sure if montgomery said something else yeah i tell you what tempers are flaring right here you got kids like montgomery who's a senior looking like the the end of his high school career is imminent as they are down by 26 points late in the third quarter and i think they're losing their cool yeah yeah we got a lot of drawing going on right now we got some peacemakers and we got some guys that are instigating [Music] [Applause] [Music] the officials are trying to regain control here coach malouf is out he's out past the [Applause] the 20 out past the numbers he's so far out in the field monty montgomery is clearly agitated about something i don't know if he's i think he's saying that he got poked in the eye i'd be upset too if i got poked in the eye but i think you could tell by the way he's signaling and you see you see he just showed one of his teammates look they poked me in the eye yeah no he's been injected now somebody's been ejected but that's for lounge yeah we'll see if john nelson can find out who's been ejected one of the lounge vikings has been ejected from the ball game and you can see mcpherson he totally disagrees with the call from our referee willie crosby and he's saying my guy was getting choked [Applause] clayson i'm trying to see if we can find this on a replay for you uh usually call a timeout here looks like and maybe talk it over as they try to sort this thing out right now a good call by the referees to try to get a hold of this thing coach believe talking to his what do you got okay let's kind of recap this and do an abridged version real quick yes monty montgomery did go to his team and to his teammates and say yeah i got poked in the eye then coach malouf called his team over and said that if there's a situation where you think you're getting pushed prodded provoked whatever back away from it because from this moment forward it's on you if there's a penalty that happens that could cost us the rest of the game so he's trying to preach patience with his guys the rest of the way i'm gonna head over to the lounge side and see if i can get that side right now but right now coach malouf is trying to preach patience with his guys and not to get pushed or provoked any further there you go we'll find out who got ejected over there and if indeed that was the call because that was the indication from the official was that a lounge player had been ejected but on our replay all that we could see was that monty montgomery uh shoved somebody yeah it was not uh palmer henderson 51 just then he was back out on the field uh as nelly was giving that report right then so he was not kicked out it was not him but i'm not sure who it was it's uh it's out one right there again just a three-man rush i would have loved to see him just pull that ball down and run easy five six yard pickup and keep this defense honest we've only seen him tuck and run just once in this entire game the most points that norcross gave up in a game this season prior to tonight 24 in their 38-24 victory against against north gwinnett [Applause] and that was way back on september 9th sinclair on the carry tackled by jeffrey davis [Applause] well as we took down here in the final minute i said earlier i we knew we were getting the lounge offense um if there's a surprise to me it's in the lounge defense and and and what they've done the three-man rush they've got radcliffe who is a division one prospect at a quarterback and one of the top athletes in the state regardless what you play he's off his game um great coaching plan great execution by the players this defense has been really impressive tonight third down and seven radcliffe gonna run they got him by the jersey and he throws incomplete and it's gonna be fourth down a lot of credit goes to viking's defensive coordinator david shores once a member of nick saban staff at lsu in just his second season at lounge after coaching on the staff at peach county in 13 years in the state of alabama before that in fact he was actually on rush probe staff at one time at hoover high school that was a line by tyson harris and that might just do it a back-breaking catch right there by tyson harris who hasn't put on a show for the vikings tonight tell you what it's a lot like you said earlier matt need a lot of game balls for this night perfect throw again for barrett he's just got a nice touch of the ball puts it out there either it's caught or it's incomplete not intercepted right on the money and their first goal with the one well that might just do it i don't know whether norcross had any chance of coming back in this game but a score right here by the vikings should just about close it out 41-yard pass play down to the one and barrett runs it in for his third touchdown of the night how about michael barrett five total touchdowns that's now 45 on the season you mentioned giving up only 10.7 points per game only 118 points total in 11 games and 49 and a waiting point number 50 here tonight and to remember on lounge first two touchdowns they failed in two-point coach malouf says programs still come in here all the time and ask him if he's sure about his baseball decision radcliffe has to get on top of that low snap in fact southern cowl in here recently checking to see how solid he was on that baseball commitment to georgia tech well tough night for him tonight but you can see why uh every division one program that uh likes a pro-style quarterback in the new age the guy who can also run good speed good athlete would want to take a look at him you can't teach that kind of size really developed as a passer this year wanted to run a lot more last year we've talked tonight let's see him a little bit more uh tonight this three-man rush but uh wish him well in this baseball career if he stays with that fumbled snap this time that's on radcliffe and he's gonna go down at the four-yard line michael gentry with the big drop for a loss quarterback sag for gentry that's the fourth a bad snap the trouble with the snap exchange that they've had on this shotgun here for norcross yeah but radcliffe should have had he should have had that one i agree fourth down punting situation for norcross and kamarta is going to have to kick out of his own end people talk about lounge and their chances to win the state championship but they're going to be 10-2 after tonight they score 47 points per game and they just put 50 on the board against a pretty salty defense if you're not taking note of lounge and their chances of winning a state title yet perhaps you might want to reconsider the team in the maroon you know what this is as impressive a two-week stretch when you can score 142 points in two playoff games and to do what you've done tonight against the defense like like we know norcross has you've got to consider them a serious contender well this is the 11th consecutive game they've scored at least 35 points in a game [Music] as you take a look at the 7a bracket you'll see that lounge will advance in all likelihood and they will play westlake the lions have already knocked off south gwinnett by a final score of 41-7 and in the semi-finals whoever wins that west lake and lowndes matchup would be playing the team in the top half and of course certainly you'd have to consider that roswell ranked number two in the state and undefeated would be the favorite in that bracket up there oh what a fun game that would be that roswell defense against this lounge offense if that does come to pass you're also looking at grayson and caulkwood county in the quarterfinals next week that's another one the two-time defending state champions against the team that's currently ranked number one in the state that's grayson jd lee right up the middle [Applause] john nelson all right time to go back into the red zone and show you parkview 40 to 24. that is in the fourth quarter and mill creek has defeated cherokee 56-21 tonight so mill creek and mckeicher will meet it looks like in the quarterfinals we know mill creek is there and it looks like mckitren's going to get there too barrett loading up and going deep got a man inside the 10. flag is out tyson harris with the touchdown catch will check the flag but harris with the long touchdown catch to make it 56-21 pending the outcome of this penalty call you see the ineligible to step out of bounds possibly usually you see an official with his hat off he's thrown down the four of the eight left alive are in that region one or gwinnett county category so a good chance now 50 percent chance especially those four teams have been are playing right now or better than 50 chance yeah yeah i think that's a good chance that they all could advance next week and lock that down and keep that streak going yeah the only match-up that we have next week in the quarterfinals in two state championships but uh season gonna end tonight in disappointing fashion against this lounge team coached by randy mcpherson two guys that have become pretty good friends over the years just talking to coaching conventions friends enough to schedule preseason scrimmages against each other the last couple of years yeah and disappointing finish for coach malou from the blue devils of course you never want to lose you know and lose in this fashion on your home field and he said you know he really felt he felt better about this team going into tonight that he did even their back-to-back championship teams he felt in some ways they were better the kicking game and um loved the offense multi-fastly with wave radcliffe had come on and the running game they had but this was a night tonight that as we talked about on momentum shifts and you can always say well what if this and what if that we talk about again what if they'd gotten six or 10 or 14 points off those two long drives that came up empty in the first quarter how would this game have been different at that point the rest of the way well i can tell you one thing for sure i am anxious to see who can stop this lounge offense yeah i am too i mean this team is for real 57 points tonight 92 points last week new quarterback in there now caleb burns in there for the vikings 92 points last week against hillgrove the only game out of the last eight in which they have scored less than 42 was their 42-35 loss at caulkwood county and cockwood's a team that has after a very slow start look at the way they're playing right now and they're they're ahead of schedule you know talked to coach props he was saying that you know maybe this may not be there a year next year and then years to follow he felt to be back up but i tell you what that coin toss is gonna be watched very carefully that grayson and caulkwood county coin toss because you know grayson's probably going to be considered the favorite in that game wherever the game is played but the odds tilt uh dramatically the other way i think if that game's down in moultrie and not at grayson i don't know that caulkwood county i don't know that anybody can be grayson i mean they are a college talented football team they had a personal foul there called on norcross and the mark off going in favor of lounge but i you know i just wouldn't count out this lounge team against anybody at this point because i haven't seen anybody able to stop their offense yet well we said kind of what we said about last year and conquered doing so many of their games that the way that things align as the playoffs went on their offense last year was so potent same thing who who's going to stop him turned out nobody did [Music] clock continues to run play clock at 10 so the vikings milking it down as far as they can go here [Applause] that's jalen bell getting the carry for the vikings getting run over by some frustrated blue devils [Music] lounge now going to be 10-2 on the season to be their first 10-win season since 2010. coach mcpherson said this team very similar to that 2010 team as far as talent level and uh record wise they're going to be close to that as well it got five championships to their credit won their first one back in 1980 when they defeated griffin in 1999 it was a shutout over brunswick and then the three that have come under randy mcpherson against parkview against brookwood and against north gwinnett continuing our theme of region one or gwinnett for that highest level state championship great event here by my lounge we've talked about just their third game this year they played outside the city of valdosta and they'll make it four next week at westlake this will be overall their 12th trip ever to the quarterfinals play clock at 13. so the instructions to the sideline and caleb burns is to take as much time as you can handoff goes to deontay moore that might have been the final play right there let's see if they got to snap it one more time it is fourth down i don't think the vikings are going to punt here well they're holding that play clock that ball was set up 15 seconds the play clock is going there's a difference of eight seconds i think i don't think the vikings i think the vikings might just take a penalty here and then i know they don't want to give the ball back to norcross but they also don't come man as you and i were talking about and you you said this week you know watch this kitty something special only a junior as we said played linebacker last week first year as a quarterback and setting a records and top scoring team in the state and what a consecutive weeks they've had here in the playoffs just unbelievable what they've done tyson shaw will punt it from the 41 jake jacoby burrell burel and the game has come to an end michael barrett and the lounge vikings head into the quarterfinals barrett 17 of 21 passing for 414 yards three touchdowns 15 carries for 112 yards and three touchdowns and the lounge vikings wall of norcross tonight by a final score of 57-21 well defense may win championships we may have an offense it's going to really make it tough for the teams like that this is as outstanding offensive performance as we've talked about we've ever seen not just tonight but in back-to-back weeks if you thought last week was a fluke well look at this 57 points against a very good norcross defense in which they dominated the entire game and scoring all those points in only three quarters matt so lowndes will play at westlake in the quarterfinals next friday heading into the second quarter and then lounge took over all of a sudden it became a shootout completely and you know no surprise both those quarterbacks baron radcliffe not his greatest game but michael barrett certainly uh put on a show for us tonight how can he not be the player of the game 57 points a night and over like 800 yards of total offense right it seemed like it just started immediately it was like the once they kind of decided who was going to set the bar it just was back and forth all night long it was definitely a good game all right let's check out some highlights from earlier on in this football game as i mentioned no score going into the second quarter and then it's travis tisdale he takes the handoff and number six with the quick six he goes 20 yards to make the score six nothing blounds on top then baron radcliffe he finds jared simskins open nice pass nice touchdown and norcross has their only lead of the game at 7-6 because from that point on it was all lounge michael barrett makes it 19-7 then it's travis tisdale takes the handoff and number six is on his way for an 83-yard journey to touchdown land this would make the score 26-7 with clowns on top and a little bit later it's michael barrett to xavier jenkins great catch touchdown makes it 33-7 and lowndes goes on to win their 10th game of the year by a final score of 57-21 a dominating performance by the vikings there were a lot of plays to choose from so we're going to pick just one play of the game i know it's hard to do but as i said earlier this one has to go to michael barrett how can it not be this was his 80-yard scoring drive the first of the two back to back he just finds some serious holes there able to manipulate the defense and go untouched as he sails into the end zone there that would put lounge up 12-7 so incredible quarterback incredible offense great game for allowance tonight all right i tell you it was very uh important game for both these teams obviously coming in lounge takes charge but the quarterback for norocross he really and you know he's just because of tonight's performance i mean that shouldn't reflect on the kind of player that he really is he's an incredible athlete we've been talking about him all night long and even though he does not plan to play college football he has committed to georgia tech on a baseball scholarship so here's a story that we ran on him earlier this season radcliffe is a unique quarterback he's certainly not your traditional pocket passer at six foot four and 200 pounds he is one strong bursted power on the field when colleges see what i can do they see a whole another aspect there's a lot of pocket passes around here and i think that when they see that i can throw and run it's a whole other level that they like about me okay so he's a dual threat quarterback but he's also a dual athlete with an opportunity to play either baseball or football in college but it's baseball that's won his heart radcliffe has committed to georgia tech on a baseball scholarship which has taken some of the pressure off of him as he started the football season i made a decision with my parents a while ago deciding all right well in college i'm going to only play baseball so when i took that visit to georgia tech it was just like all right well i really love this and i really think that this is a place i can play now that i have decided that i'll only be playing baseball it's kind of like a stress relief because now i can just go out and relax and just play my game sports have always been part of the foundation in his family he's the son of two incredible athletes his mother nikki played basketball at ohio state and his father vic was drafted by the kansas city royals and it's vic who has inspired baron's baseball career well he's done both so he knows how to get to the next level in both he knows his hard work he always tells me how to get where i need to go and that hard work is always going to be how you get there i really think that him having experience in both of those is what let me be able to reach the next level this is an exciting time for someone like barron but he hasn't let the excitement distract him from his main responsibilities on the football field during his senior year the norcross blue devils have high expectations to get into the postseason and he's still their quarterback he's learned rather quickly how to balance football a soon to be baseball career and simply enjoying his senior year i know that even though i'm not going to be playing football it's my senior season so i'm going to give it everything i have so that's how i look at it balancing both is really just a matter of knowing that after this year i'm not going to have to do it anymore but i really think that this year is a year that i really need to focus on you always hate to see a season end early for a quarterback as great as baron radcliffe but when i talked to him earlier before this season started you know he just was very humble and just very excited about this season and frankly he seemed kind of relieved to just be able to have the decision about college already done to come out here just play football have that brotherhood with his teammates and have a good season and he led them to a pretty good season all right you ready for some brackets i'm ready
