We welcome you back to Lakewood Stadium for game 2 of our semifinal football, Friday in Georgia, the 68 semifinal as the fourth-ranked Rome.
Wolves have come to town the take on the number one, right?
Langston Hughes answers and good evening.
I'm Matt, Stewart joined the former Auburn Tigers All-American and FL first-round draft pick and In year Pro, Wayne Gandy and Wayne Rome is back in the semifinals for the first time since 2018, they won the state championship in 2017 obliterating opponents.
I bring that up because this Langston Hughes team reminds me a lot of that Rome team.
They have averaged 55 points per game, Rome's had a great season, can they stop the man?
Something is gonna have to give tonight.
Matt, when you look at Langston Hughes, they're able to score with anybody.
And on the other side, with Rome only giving up a little Over eight points a game.
Something has to give tonight.
Indeed, let's start with Langston Hughes.
They are 13 and 0 on the season looking for their first ever.
Perfect season, their two wins away from that, they're only lost in the last 27 games in the 6A state championship game.
Last year when they're blocked when their field goal attempt to win.
It was blocked by Buford and they've been LED All Season by the young man who for my money is the offensive player of the year in the state of Georgia.
And that's their quarterback.
Back Prentiss are Nolan, are Nolan?
Remember the name he's playing special are right now.
Over 4,000 yards throwing this season 71 percent completion, rate, Forty, Nine touchdowns, that's right.
49 through the air, five Russian 54 total, he's efficient Big Arm, great decision maker look for him to light it up, 27 offers and your Auburn Tigers are in the mix for are Nolan.
Now when he's not throwing the ball, he can hand it off to this.
You Cal Middlebrook nine offers our Georgia cotton commission player of the game.
When we saw a huge five weeks ago, we're talking about a young man who has just exploded over the last five, six weeks, over 1,200 yards coming into this game, 17 touchdown, the average is over 13 yards, a carry, he's a big play, lightning in the bottle and has been lighting it up in the playoffs defensive side of the ball.
That also the offensive side of the ball is the young man, they call a unicorn.
This is the number one rated tied in in the country.
He also plays D and Jelani Thurman committed to the Ohio State 6-6, bout to 30 to 35 long lean, athletic, 50/50 ball.
He is just great at that at the tight end position.
His contribution defensively with his size and the pressure.
He can put on a quarterback is going to be key tonight for this win.
All right?
Let's talk about the Rogue wolves or 12 and 1 on the season, their only loss to Carrollton who's playing in the 7A.
Semifinals tonight.
At Colquitt County.
And since that loss, they had a narrow win over a very talented Pebblebrook team, they pretty much wiped out the competition since then, beat Marist in the quarterfinals last week and they've got a solid Junior quarterback to in Reese Fountain.
Mr. Fountain.
Very efficient throwing the ball.
Great decision maker.
When you look at his percentage, 75 percent completion, rate down the field, 28 touchdowns, only four interceptions on the season tonight.
His big thing.
Is to make some plays keep some drives alive with his feet.
Georgia Southern Sanford, and Simo have offered Fountain, and he's just a junior, they got a great two-way player and Martell height.
He's a four-star cornerback committed to Vanderbilt, but also a very dangerous weapon at wide receiver offensively 10 touchdowns defensively tight coverage three interceptions on the season.
And you've made it right right there.
Matt, he is going to have to make some big plays off pensively to give Roma chance.
Defensive side of the ball.
They have one of the top defensive lineman in the nation.
Stuff island green who's committed to the Clemson Tiger mr. Green As Good As It Gets on defense forced are headed to Clemson.
He's fast, he's strong.
He is up and down the line.
Nose, tackle, three technique, five technique his ability to shut down, half the field, trying to run the ball is why this defense only gives up eight point two points again.
So it's the Rome Wolves and the Langston Hughes Panthers.
Has winner.
This ball game advances to the 6A state championship game a week from tonight, at Georgia, State time.
Now to bring Autumn Johnson back into the picture at Lakewood Stadium autumn Well, Matt, tonight's theme has just been about adapting and adjusting considering the doubleheader for game one.
It was an early time now coming into game to Rome taken on Langston Hughes, it will be a shorter warm of time where you were used to seeing teams, get about an hour to an hour, half to warm up, get stretched and prepped and ready to go.
That was cut down to 30 minutes but no worries.
For both of these head coach them before and Langston Hughes head coach shared with us that we played multiple game twos here at Lakewood and we are also put in Situation's where we had to start at 8:45 for a kickoff.
So we are prepared for anything.
Rome's head coach Reed, told me they're used to it as well because they play in the Corky Kell classic all the time and have to deal with me and those game too.
So nothing new for these teams.
They've been there, done that.
We'll see how it comes into play tonight.
Let's go ahead and hit to Hannah in the studio.
Alright, thank you.
I'm do appreciate that little traffic mix up there but Hannah and John have done their work for now and John and we'll check in with John and Hannah coming up in just a few moments as we get ready for the opening kickoff, Langston Hughes.
One the opening tossed, they have deferred and so we will see the Rome wolves on offense to start this game.
Rome at 12 and 1 on the season, Langston Hughes at 13 and 0.
And like you said going to be an interesting matchup with the defense of Rome and the offense of Langston Hughes for those at home.
You could like to play along, go to the QR code, on your screen and pick the winner of tonight's game.
First ever meeting between these two teams.
Panthers have rolled through the competition this season.
Winning the Region 5 6, a championship seven.
And oh in region play, second consecutive region.
Title fourth in program history, 5 and 0 on the road this season 37.
And for since the start of the 2020 season with two of those four losses coming to another wolves team to Buford wolves in.
In the playoffs this parent detained just seems to have a dude at every position across the board.
So talented is all about a mindset and they come out to play they're just hard to stop wrong 12 in one region.
668 Champions, they went six and 0 in region play.
The number one seed, second straight region title, the fifth Under head coach, John Reed and the 12th in program history.
The opening kickoff is brought to you by buckle up, Georgia, buckle up Georgia seat.
Belts, save lives, just waste, the Llano has it teed up and kicks off a short kick to be taken by Martel height and Martel hiking astute to the outside be dragged down from behind at the 21 yard line.
And that's where we'll see the Rome wolves go on offense for the first time tonight.
And we talk so much about how the quarterback has the play is offensive.
Line has a challenge and has to step up.
They have to be able to block Josh Horton inside.
Side and get some kind of Run game for their talented quarterback.
Reese Fountain, Reese Fountain.
Six-foot 167 jr.
He has completed 75 percent of his passes, just extraordinary close to twenty nine, hundred yards, 28 touchdowns and just four interceptions and way they have a running back by committee.
There are three sophomore running backs, the total Load With Wolves quick, pass out here to hide.
He's gonna get dropped way back in the 10-yard line.
And there you see the reaction time of this.
Langston Hughes defense has Santonio poppy Jones with the tfl poppy Jones coming off the block.
And that's what I do when you watch this team, you can just pick a spot picker position, very dominant here, trying to get the ball out on the edge Bobby Jones, it's not having it.
They don't young talented sophomore who plays like a senior.
Nice job right there.
so second down and 18 ball way back at the 14 yard line as was a spotted Is d.k., Daniel In Motion, the past thrown incomplete to Martavius Collins.
We'll talk more about him.
He's a four-star, Junior committed to Alabama's.
We take a look at the starting lineups brought to you by Regions Bank, get back in the game with Regions Bank.
Adams Parker Byington Baltimore and Williams upfront McDermott, the running back with height Daniel and Bray at wide receiver and Collins at tied in this tough sledding when you take on this, Fence and find yourself in second and third and long just to talented on that back in trying to get the ball out of fountains hands quick.
In those first two plays.
Did you play here?
Not really fischels?
No.
Indication as to what the stoppages?
There's no flag on the field.
I don't know whether it's a clock issue that they're dealing with.
See head coach, Daniel Boone, Williamson put a job.
He has done since taking over this program.
39, and 12, and that includes a 2 and 8 season in Heber.
Number one Fountain pocket scrambling gonna take a sack back at the 10-yard line, huge play by that defense.
You can't hold the ball that long.
The man in the middle.
Josh Ford number 8.
Just is not going to give you that kind of time.
You're gonna have to make some quick decisions.
Early, talented three.
Star Carolina, commit here.
Just working up.
The field.
Pushing the guard snatching double-team.
Block, working to the ball, big hit.
Maybe Paul came out right there like the ball, maybe it came out of fountains.
Hands guard, High coming for Rome's and a hit at the 39 and bounce sideways.
So Langston Hughes, after the quarterback sack, my Josh Horton, the tfl by Santonio poppy, Jones gets great field position the short field for the Panthers to work with here on their opening possession.
Big offensive line and the Panthers up from going to talk continually about the talent of Glover and big boat Hughley over there are right tackle, but just big bodies inside a lot of work for this room defense, to try to live up to tonight against this offensive, Juggernaut are Nolan.
If you haven't seen him, he is just simply a marvelous Talent 71 percent completion than a whip it out here, complete.
Eat.
And to quell Middlebrook get stonewalled right there.
The line of scrimmage Great Rally to the ball by the wolves on defense.
As we take a look at views on offense, has brought to you, by Regions Bank lover future star, Dorsey Watkins sailor and Bo Q. LY.
Number 10 rated offensive tackle committed to Georgia, Middlebrooks the running back.
Got McGee, Willoughby Thurman and Barnes the wide receivers and Thurman the tight end.
Little bro, gonna get swallowed up at the line of scrimmage by JT Tyrell.
Nice job.
Jt2 rail beating the block early day, of course, inside the job of using his hands.
This d-line, very talented.
As we talked about the All-Star inside green, they're going to have to make some plays, they're going to have to play in the back.
Back wheel of Langston Hughes, Terrell.
A 63 to 70 jr.
He's been offered by Liberty.
Third down and key Liberty going through a coaching change.
A few fries leaving for Auburn Jenny Chadwell the Coastal Carolina.
Coach's name is popped up.
There's perhaps the leading candidate third down and ten Middlebrooks first down and more to Cal Middlebrooks and this guy is you mentioned Middlebrook has just been phenomenal in the second half of the season.
It's just really started dominating here.
The vision right there to cutting ability, only listed at about 180, you can see running behind his past.
That's a big pickup right there in that set of downs.
1310 Nolan they run a scream at the 20-yard, line gonna pick up about five on the play, as the ball, goes to Jaden Barnes.
Let's take a look at Rome's.
Defense brought to you by Regions Bank.
Get back in the game, with Regions Bank, brown, green Tyrell and Adams on the defensive line Bullard, more and Smith are the linebackers and then height Winston Daniel and Wilkinson in the secondary air.
Nolan going to slide down at the 12, yard line, double team over there by DonTrell Glover and Dorsey just whacked that left side of the line.
Nice job of picking that first down up by Nolan like those heady plays by a guy like him, Take those unnecessary hits.
Go do your job and get back in there and Live to play again.
Then a starting quarterback since his freshman year he's 26.
And to as a starter and off goes the Middlebrook gonna run right into the arms of Tyson Brown.
Tyson Brown number 92, really kind of been an under-the-radar guy for this ROM deep.
It's nice job of working off the block.
You see him spinning off the block right there of DonTrell Glover, the intensity to finish, that play, nine, tackles for loss on the season.
56 and a half total tackles and ten-and-a-half quarterback sacks.
So you're defensive and it's second down and eight and see if Chrome can come up with a stop here in the red zone.
Trips it up your tops and she's been sick.
Person is outside the numbers at the top of the screen, Justice Savage gets the handoff and Savage, picks up the first down inside.
The fire formation, just to pull bodies out of the box right there.
Nice decision, getting the ball to Savage started to see this his this season as the star runner.
And now it is become his back.
Feel alone with Middlebrook Savage handle.
And he's gonna get stopped at the goal line.
You're gonna rolling down inside the one.
Yes Savage, how about that for a number two back?
He's gonna go over 1,000 yards, rushing in all probability the night and with the way that this offense is able to throw the ball out on outside, that's why these backs are feasting and short small boxes Middlebrook gonna get in touch down, Langston Hughes little book.
Takes it in from one yard out for his 18th touchdown of the season.
This physical drive here by Langston Hughes, nice and brown.
The N is able to beat us block, but as we talked about with no tobruk, just one of those guys strong for each and every yard inside easy touchdown Solano on for the, p80 will be the Long, Snapper and Middlebrook is the holder, and the kick is up and good.
And Langston Hughes has taken the early lead here and the 68 A a semifinal used, used a short field and punched it in with Middlebrook totin the ball.

Welcome back to the 6s.
My finals.
I want to take you all back to August 15th, we always talk about the heroics on the field but let's go off the field for a second because six Rome High School football players were able to save a life.
That day a 50 year old woman was stuck in her car jam-packed.
After a car accident, there was fluid coming from the car, smoke as well, but these six athletes were able to Rally together to save her life.
They even were able to use their strengths to pry the door open and comforter after that was a That will hold on with them forever.
And I asked, head coach read about this moment and what he thought about these guys and what that showed him, and he told me that none of them have had the easiest path.
They could easily put someone else before them, but they get, they didn't think twice to put someone else before them, and that's what makes them so special.
So Mass Caesar Parker Trayvon Adams, Antoine carry Messiah, Daniels, Tyson Brown in Alto more were all heroes that day.
That's just an amazing story Wayne and really kind of puts Into perspective or watching this game tonight.
It's a big game but something like that is just so much bigger in the grand scheme of Life kick is coming down at the 17.
I'm up to the 31-yard line, 14, yard, return, and that's where Rome goes on offense for the second time and they're down a score.
You really feel like this ROM team have success, they're going to have to keep Pace with Langston Hughes.
It can't get him.
One of those down, 14 down 17.
They don't really have that kind of system.
You should offense, they can't play from deep in and The hole in this game, they're going to have to when they get these opportunities maximizing, put some points on the board.
First and Ten ball at the 31 yard line.
Great textbook.
Tackle out there on the Edge by Ganon wethersby, the linebacker committed to Tennessee State, what a great job of slipping the block by Weathersby and making that play right there.
All right, being blocked in the back, great job.
But number 44, on that play.
They had a lot of potentially.
It looks like he was going to get out of the gate.
Illegal Block in the back offense.
Ten-yard penalty from spotted, the cloud repeat first down, Chuck Tidwell, is our referee tonight.
Working this 6, a semifinal and in wethersby 115 tackles on the season 65 solo averaging.
Just under nine tackles again the first and 29.
The various didn't experiment, 5:15 on the season, yard rushing seven touchdowns.
Here's a look at the huge defense.
All these guys have over 80 tackles.
It's amazing.
Howard, Horton.
The three-star committed to North Carolina, Glenn and Oliver.
The linebackers wethersby, bonds and Jones.
And then in the secondary, you got, Martin love who's committed to Auburn.
Brooke and Johnson.
And Justin Bond playing the middle linebacker spot Bonds in there because Jordan Thompson suffered a season-ending knee injury.
Fountain delivers downfield intercepted at the 47-yard line.
Return opportunity here across the 30 sliding down.
Terrence love, the Auburn commit, the four-star, safety third interception of the season for him and it all starts with the pressure of John's board up front.
Big number eight swimming, The Sinner, forcing Fountain who this season has been great with his Decision right there.
What he would like to have back and then Terrace love looking like a defensive end in the secondary at 63 195.
Nice job.
Just can't make those kind of the throne.
Obviously, secondary the number nine.
Safety in the country by Rivals committed to Auburn over 38.
Other offers on time that roam defense continues to Hit hard the Run by middle broken.
He gets dropped behind me line of scrimmage.
Nice job there by Alto more the middle linebacker working down the line of scrimmage.
Second down and 11 ball at the 30.
That's a tfl for Joe Wilkinson.
The free safety.
Get a box count.
Here is are Nolan.
The people in the Box, you have to run it.
Jersey dragging down at the 24-yard line lane.
Let's take a look at the Breda Pest Management keys to the game.
When the Panthers have the ball.
Langston Hughes, you just got to go out.
Executing stay balanced when they get in trouble.
In a lot of games, as when they try to throw the ball too much.
And on, for the defense of Rome, you're gonna have to come up with a couple of turnovers.
You really feel like you gotta get interception may be humble for touchdown.
A something to help you all things out, third down and five, Nolan and Barnes.
Barnes has the first down at the 17 yard line.
And when you say stay balanced they got a great offensive coordinator long time, high school, football fans, especially on the south side of Atlanta, will remember the name and Rico Hines?
Who start at Riverdale?
Went to middle Tennessee.
He's their offensive coordinator.
Michelle, for a lot of talent.
And you can see beating the pressure right there on that last re just getting the ball out quickly, the barn.
Nolan surveys, the field checks down to the running back out here and down to the 10 yard line, the catch by Middlebrook great protection, by the offensive line and broke.
You build their right tap for star of the clean pocket here, pointing to his third read there, to get the ball to Middlebrook all kinds of time to deliver the ball.
And off the Middlebrook, first down Little Brook, touchdown middle row and use on top 13 to nothing.
Nice job.
Once again, offensive line left side, pulling their door, she Glover kicking out, slow to the hole on this play to kill Middlebrook letting the blocks happen.
Big lover and Trail.
Governor left tackle on that counter play the way patients by Middlebrook ends up with the touchdown.
You just can't make mistakes and give them short Fields.
You got to try to make things as difficult as possible and it's a 14-nothing lead from Langston Hughes.
This is what they've done to pretty much everybody.
The entire season Rome's, got a lot of work to do there down.

241 to play here in the first quarter.
Langston Hughes is already bolted out to a 14 to.
Nothing lead that young man right there to kill Middlebrook already with two touchdown runs in the first quarter, as you.
Take a look at the governor's Red Ribbon campaign scoring drive.
Five plays and 29 yards came after the interception by Terrence lull.
What's interesting about jakeel Middlebrook way?
Is that about half of the team's recruiting him, think he's a running back, the other half.
Think he's a DB, he's so talented.
And as we talked about so impressive over the last five, six games, the kind of numbers, we called him the first time is running that game.
He had about 450 yards and he's had about 900 yards in the Flies.
Five games kick coming down, That's where Rome's going to take over third possession.
Their first possession ended in a puck, the didn't get across the 50 short touchdown drive for Langston Hughes.
Their second possession ended in interception, 20 yard, return, even shorter.
Touchdown drive for Langston Hughes patience.
Patience patience is what we found in his offense is going to have to show.
They cannot get themselves in a hole.
Against this defense, it's just hard to figure out where to attack this defense.
They just have they put layers the pressure that the defensive line gets.
It's just consistent.
Secondhand doll of the game, the beermen.
The second Carriage of various McDermott chance.
Arthur Jane.
Harman this three-man sophomore running back by committee has just gotten better as the seasons going on the challenge for them tonight.
Not necessarily for the running backs, the John Reed's, offensive line, they got a block that college-ready defensive line for line.
To you.
Second down and nine going to swing the ball out here, Kima kima's.
He's got a first down and then thrown after the play thought, there might have been a flag Wayne.
Let's check out the Breda Pest Management keys to the game of Rome.
Has the ball.
No - plays.
And we've seen already.
That's what's been holding this offense back.
And we're not just talking about penalties.
We're talking about tackles for losses, and they can't get behind the sticks against Hughes and Hughes with the The talent they have.
It's all about focus and tackling.
Don't let those little two or three yard plays broken.
Tackles end up being big plays and give Rome any life.
So that was a 12 yard pickup for McDermott First first down for John Reed's offense tonight.
Veteran coach John Reed, he's pulling the battles, LED roam, the state championships in 2016, 2017, see the frustration etched on his face right now the start in this game.
We completely understands that he's already at that Tipping Point.
He's only on his third Drive of the game, but he can't give Langston Hughes the ball back that quick again, they didn't he has been able to lend his defense rests.
They got to push him plays together and it starts.
It's even its doors the first quarter when you playing a team so high-powered, you have to start rolling the dice and that's what he called the function for that time out.
Let's take a live look in here.
It's brought to you by Breda Pest Management official pest control of high school football and they're hidden commercial.
We were going to show you a live look in the Carrollton and Colquitt County game there in the second quarter and Moultrie in Carrollton has the lead, but we will give you some live look-ins on Game throughout the course of the night.
Of course, the winner of that game, we already know will play Mill Creek in the 7A state championship.
Ahac big winners of a Milton in our first game time.
Big hole for McDermott across the 50 and down to the 43.
So Rome getting something going on off at nice job.
Putting the whole quick, good, execution up front, by the offensive line.
You got to attack this.
Defense you can't be stutter stepping in the hole.
As you can see one cut and get to running nice.
Kick out block there by Ellard.
You got to go right at this defense to town and to them too fast, run the screen for Martavius Collins and he gets dropped.
He's one of those guys known for 40 to do on defense, definitely in a game like this, he has to be able to use that big body and make some plays in the middle of this defense at tight end position.
Six 3241 Junior committed to Alabama, over 17 other offers including Auburn took an unofficial are second down and nine Throws to Collins again three, guys to get him on the grounds that they do, get Austin, bonds, the middle linebacker.
The junior in on that tackle, two of his buddies on rather be rallying to the ball.
Oliver.
That's the thing about this.
Langston Hughes teams that has impressed me this season watching them.
This Talent hustles.
It's not The five-star let him make the play.
It's that all of us are going to get in on the action.
Well, their best on best in practice might be the best on best game ever mistake.
And that's gonna be the end of the first quarter.
And all Langston Hughes so far, but Rome finally showing some signs of life here at the end of the quarter.
A couple of touchdown runs by Jack L Middlebrook, have the number one ranked Panthers on top as we head to the second, this program on GPB is made possible in part by supporters of the Georgia High School Association including the following.
Way.
Record-breaking yarmulkes.

Well, I got a quick break in the action.
Did you know that the same area of just one football field can contain up to 95 termite Colony?
That's why you need bread, A Pest Management to defend your home right after the official pest control of high school football, Start of the second quarter buckle up Georgia, Langston Hughes on top of Rome.
14 to nothing in this six, a semifinal quick update on that seven.
A semifinal in Moultrie, they are at halftime and Carolton led by freshman quarterback choo choo Louis on top of Colquitt County, 2117 Juju muos.
Her brilliant player he is.
Yeah, it's fun to watch.
Rome starting to show some signs of Life.
Here's, we wrapped up the first quarter, but now it's third and 11.
As we start the second Fountain running throwing across his body.
You gotta make Langston Hughes at least take a drive and makes this.
See if you can make them make a mistake if they have to go 80.
90 yards make pressure once again Josh Horton on those Sprint out.
Those rollouts a lot of times with offensive line you take a break and think it's a playoff.
We're really, really guy like him.
You just got to step into that hole, that that hole to the left and then get back on him.
He has that kind of talent and speed to run down a guy like a responsible for.
He's got high guard High.
Pardon me is.
Well, he was supposed to be plugging.
I don't think that was him.
Coming down inside the 10 and rolled dead at the 7-yard line.
Let's take a look at the Langston Hughes resume the Panthers 2021 State finalist.
They came within a blocked field goal of winning.
The state championship last year, 2020.
They were in the quarterfinals.
They're gunning for their first-ever undefeated season.
They've already had their first undefeated regular season and they are 87 and four of the last three seasons for time region Champions, including back-to-back here in 2021 2022.
Is this room defense?
They have to make some plays.
They got to get their hands on the body, got to get the offense, the short field.
These are those moments in the game where your defense has a step up and try to get a three and out.
This is Savage on the caring gets down in the open field.
Nice Tackle by By Joe Wilkinson their free safety.
Who really has been big time for them on that back line.
This year great job here by way of working.
Through all the bodies here six or seven Bobby's just nice ting ting, the defense to come up with that.
Tackle 48, tackles on the season to tfl for picks this year.
You had a sideline warning on that place, so no penalty flag.
Joe Wilkinson been a big factor for that, Rome defensive season.
2nd down and 10.
Short run right there, big old JT Tyrell.
Got him in his grasp and wouldn't let him go any further.
So it's 327 delivered the offer on the board.
Talent is a great size inside with his buddy grain.
Nice job using his hands, getting off the block.
You know, what's interesting is the recruiting Services label him as a edge.
Rusher Rome has him playing on the nose and we'll be going to pick up the first down driven out across the 20, Willoughby with this.
First, Catch of the game.
Nice blocking their by this is all about the blocking of the other receivers to be able to free him right there.
13, Jovani McGee, just so much talent.
These guys once they get like, Willoughby get the ball in their hands.
So explosive first thing 10, go, too far.
Close to the 40.
How about the big bright?
A career goal, keeping this blocking scheme here, sucking down trying to get the defense to bind and getting that big body 672 9300 out on the edge.
Go back to the other side this time Wilkinson after the catch by McGee.
Just starting out of the second gear here is number 22, Joe Wilkinson.
He's had enough of these receivers screens physical, right?
Long-distance he covered you make that we got this.
Make sure that received the pain second down and six nice play by Trey Adams the other defensive end.
Work down the line of scrimmage nearby atoms when their defensive linemen are really active, really good.
Third down and six.
Then I like a lot and they don't stay blocked.
That's gonna just sit here and one can see that you have me.
Blobs of clapping hands swimming moving.
Continue her down.
Six Dominique always had a long lines.
Great defensive lineman Nolan to the air was an open Catch to be made by Jaden Barnes that might stymie the drive right there.
No.
For Speed.
The right here.
Got to come up with this.
Catch for your quarterback.
Jake.
Barnes my spine here by Nolan.
Anticipate maybe that he was going to get hit but no one in the vicinity for Barnes to come.
Now he could have came out that catch had a lot of them even make them moving with his ability to run, make even bigger play.
That's the first incompletion for are Nolan in that one wasn't his fault.
Take a big balance for the Panthers and rolled dead at the 18-yard line.
That's where the gold wolves.
Go back on offense.
After a 41-yard punt.

commute with confidence, Express can take you to and from work, just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride, more information at Express G, a.com a proud supporter of High School athletics, John Reed is the guy that finally was able to pool.
All that great talent in Rome high school and turned them into a state championship.
Contender won state championships in 2016 and 17 stopped in the 28, semifinals 2018, semifinals 12 region titles, of course, West Rome 15 state titles East, Rome won two state titles.
And everybody thought, when you Consolidated, those two stools together, they were going to be a dominating state championship.
Team, didn't happen until John Reid.
Came on board back there eight seasons ago, and he's gone 86 in 18 during his time.
There Rome First Carry of the game right there.
That was Number 24, Rome chance.
Our third iced out there that I could Marcus Brown 57 from that defensive end position beating the block their Jarvis Adams, probably Rome's, best offensive, lineman up front.
See the Domination by Hugh so far in this game.
ROM, got 26 yards on their last drive.
That shows you they had negative 8 on their first to combine.
This is complete.
Martel height and the ball comes out after contact with the ground.
So that's a first down to the Wolves.
We talked about his ability to affect the game on both sides of the ball.
Nice job.
Of settling in that soft Zone and catching the ball and getting up.
Feel he is going to consistently need to make some plays for this offense.
John Reed told us he would be a Difference Maker for them tonight on both sides of the ball and in special teams, drop him back and setting up the screen.
Ball goes to Arthur Arthur.
Gets a first down runs into his receiver DK.
Daniel block, inform downfield.
Or the bigger bag of the three is Chance.
Arthur my screen, good job by the center and the guards, they're getting out getting a helmet on a helmet and just physicality right there.
The Internet run by Arthur very seldom.
Have I've ever seen a running back room?
Where all, three writing exercise off more than other, that's typically not how it actually, the running back tree goes 14.
It was a 15 yard pickup for Arthur near Midfield now for the wolf.
Bozeman dearman in there, running a ball, and a short game for him off the right side of that offensive line Charles Daniels 15 Steve fans.
We talked about Horton and talk about Durham and these guys have rotate in for Langston Hughes like brown and Daniel's pics and make a big impact of his team.
They certainly had the deepest defensive line in my opinion, in the state of Georgia.
Six of their eight in the rotation at 80.
Plus tackles that doesn't even include Jelani Thurman piece before star.
He spots over there on the defensive end position.
Then you got three pitches of softeners, really good team, fountain on the Run.
Now, here's a dimension of fountain that we might see tonight doesn't really have the numbers to support that.
He's a dual threat quarterback but coach.
John Reed says he certainly as much a dual threat quarterback as the quarterback who led him to those state championships knocks kadem back in 2016 and 17.
Nice job for making that decision to pull the ball.
There's a those loose plays that he's gonna have to make tonight to create third and short score himself.
Like he has right here, third and fourth.
Fountain in trouble scrambles away from it and will pick up the first down to slide at the 40.
Great job getting out of trouble right there.
It's about his Fountain.
Big-time pressure off the edge, they're able to escape showing you a little speed there to get out.
Charles Daniel.
Excuse me.
A mod Howard.
They're just not able to bring him down.
Talked about one of the keys for Langston Hughes was tackling in those situations.
Got to be able to bring and get that sack of your Howard.
Mr. On the route run their DK.
Daniel turned in and Fountain throughout the impressed by what we've seen from Rome here in the second quarter way.
It was kind of like they got backed into the corner of the ropes in that first quarter and they were taking massive body blows, but they've absorbed that and they kind of rally Lead and they got there throwing some counter punches.
Now definitely as back into this game you can see all different than the energy shift.
Playing with a lot more confidence.
Offensive ly eighth play of the drive right here, for Rome.
For the Panthers is he gets stopped behind the line of scrimmage?
That's Daniel again.
Who's the first guy there in five listed five nine to Thirty but very explosive off the ball.
Can you watch him?
Play got great.
Leverage at that height.
Maybe the shortest defensive tackle, you can see standing next to the other big bodies out there.
The way I think you're in four down territory here if you cut it in half, if you get it down to third and four I think you got you got to go for a rather fourth and four gotta go for it to that girl just made their third down a lot tougher.
A third day with the heart count, there was wreathed Fountain, right cards in Baltimore reacting, still in that same situation that as you discuss based on how much of this party joint it back changing, it definitely could make it a fourth down.
If you get into that fourth and four or less.
A situation.
I think even if you get the fourth and six year, you're inside the 40, the certainly not kicking a field goal at that point.
I think he'd go for it.
If you can cut this thing in half or a little bit more than that Fountain, heavy Rush.
She's in trouble quarterback sack back at the 49 yard line.
Now, you do have to pawn, the Marcus Brown, nursing the shoulder this time working underneath the left top of their group, should darts your Dodgers atoms to make them.
It's one of those Relentless physical type D and B.
Doing the punting flag comes out as the ball is fielded at the 20-yard line, 31 yard kick by Martel height.
I think is playing every snap offense defense, special teams.
Really early flag.
All hadn't returned, man.
Hadn't got to the ball yet.
That was on the ground.
He too many me and defensively.
Legal participation, defense 15-yard penalty, fourth down.
So now that puts you in a place where you can go for it, many men on the field.
Now, what let's see.
Exactly the scoreboard clock said, it was fourth and 16, that would make it for thin one.
You're definitely going forward here.
I don't know that it's going to be fourth in one.
I think it's going to be see where they put the ball down, okay?
It's going to be about fourth and five at the 36, you're definitely going 40.
All foods, coming back on the field.
Way they seem to be able to move the ball.
The last contrived, definitely worth the gamble, Langston Hughes that was also the first penalty on Langston Hughes and potentially a costly one.
So with this big fourth down coming up and Langston Hughes calling the timeout will step aside got a big play coming up on the other side of the break.

Welcome back less than four minutes to go in Rome versus Hughes 6, a semi-final match up.
Panthers up 14.
Nothing coming up in just a few minutes on the halftime show, John and I will break down every single bracket and preview.
What's to come on?
The GHSA championships next week at Center Park, Stadium at, that's all coming up in just a few looking forward to, and Hannah.
Yeah, we're closing in on the eighth state championship game, starting next Thursday night, plus all the flag football championships to will have complete coverage of all of it.
Starting on Thursday, here on GPB.
This is a big fourth down play when this is a potentially game-changing fourth down below.
It's one of those plays that you marked down, waited, the game swing back to, even in Rome can come up with this first down to keep this drive going Fountain working to try to run for.
He's got let's see where they spot.
It, it looks like he's gonna pick up the first down.
I thought for a moment, his behind him down too early and you saw the out, you saw the outside of cashews, initially College short.
Yeah.
Look where there's smog neither spotting it at the 31.
So is that going to be enough?
It looks like it is a first down.
I thought he came very close to Sliding too early.
At works out for Rome and we'll see if indeed, this is kind of a game changing event right there, picking up the first down on Fourth, talked about in the open Fountain, having to make a couple of plays with his feet to keep these drives.
Going his defense, he's very aggressively the middle of the field open.
Five-yard penalty, first down, John Reed's at last year, after they got knocked out in the first round against Johns Creek.
First time they've ever in his career, got knocked out that early.
In the playoffs said, they went back including himself, re-evaluate everything that they did from offseason workouts to practice has changed it all.
Here they are back in the semifinals for the first time since 2018, this is a 6 Plus minute drive already.
To get points out of it though.
It's a lot of it back after that penalty.
Nice job between the right card Baltimore and the sooner.
Byington Josh Gordon, right there in the middle, good movement to create that.
Seemed to the young man mcdermid to get the big pickup right there.
Nice execution up front second down and Six coming up.
You see his numbers for the season, over 500 and right at five hundred fifteen yards.
Seven touchdowns.
He's over that.
Now with this totals tonight, going to run it again.
Mcdeere, running the ball against this.
Langston Hughes defense has no easy task the wrong doing a good job of trying to establish that they keep they keep hitting that rock.
They haven't given up on that thing.
It kept the score close to enough to where they can continue to chip away.
You gotta keep this defense off balance.
You can't find yourself and just passing situation and the key.
As you just mentioned, Matt the got to come up with some points.
You can't just go on these long drives in the end up with a field goal.
Try 13th, play of the drive, right here, dangerous pass as Fountain, LED Cromer too much actually that was brain tumor Love and not 13 letting too much in.
Nearly deflected it in the hands of the defender.
We're going to put this ball on prey.
They are out to get him outside of the traffic.
No one really in the vicinity.
You put that ball right in his hands and let him go to work.
Here you go.
Another big fourth down play, they convert it on Fourth and five.
Now it's Fourth and four.
Can they do it twice in the same Drive?
Fountainhead, he rushed out of the pocket.
Looking looking firing great, catch them going to speak out.
And that is a first down, Fountain, smoked a bullet to height.
Nice job of Fountain.
Keeping this play a lot.
Nice job of height.
Coming back to the ball right here.
You can see him making his, he's open throwing his hand up.
A nice fine.
Nice concentration.
We said he had to have an effect on this game that Iran's quarterback sack back at the 30 yard line as the Marcus Brown shot through untouched second quarterback sack of the night for him.
He's had a great first half past year this time.
Working off of the right tackle coming underneath just no time to sit up to do anything with the ball.
Right there is res.
Five tackles in the first half of the Marcus Brown, this is the 16th play of the Drive Fountain.
Loads up goes to the endzone, jump ball, incomplete, just ran.
Out of real estate out there for DK.
Daniel tight coverage from Jakari.
Martin kind of their dude at cornerback definitely taking on the role of taking the best.
Receiver is Martin right there, tight coverage, by him and goats blue, guys.
Yeah, they make you make the play with them right up next to you.
Nice job.
My giving the receiver any room to come up with that catch Jakari, Martin offered by Middleton.
Tennessee, Harvard and Tennessee Tech on an Eclectic recruiting list right there.
Third and 17.
Now, Leave it out here to the Jeremy, got one man to beat.
He's going to get run out of bounds by Jones at the 22 yard line.
Clock continues to move.
I thought he got out of that.
Locked it and stopped live.
Look in brought to you by Breda Pest Management and Carrollton.
trying to score again, up 2117 That's Juju Lewis, price Hicks and they're going to try a field goal here.
Diego cord own gonna line up and try to get a field goal and by Langston Hughes so Hicks.
Got stopped on that run right there that we just showed you a moment ago.
You get stopped at the 8-yard line.
So looks like Carrollton going to burn a timeout here, inside the 10-yard line.
So do you agree with this lining up for the field goal right here?
The 39 yard attempt you do get points but it's three enough for you.
Right here.
It's one of those mental kind of challenges where you trying to make sure that your team feel like got some on the board.
It's different, you know, you go for it on fourth down, you end up with no points and then you go in as a coach you Trying to talk your team up even more.
Here is just at the long drive putting something on that board.
Creates that energy years.
Diego Court, dong gonna try a 39-yard kick Cromer's, the holder.
Ellard is the Long Snapper.
Looks like everything's working right?
And the kick was way off, but we're gonna have a penalty on Langston Hughes.
I First Defense five-yard penalty for that.
So now it's Fourth and seven.
I think, do you keep the field goal unit on the Field.
And this point you got to be aggressive game clock.
You have two timeouts which doesn't come into play unless you pick up the first down.
I think it's with your offense back out here and then try to put a touchdown on the board.
See, my argument for going for it is even if you get the field goal, you're still down two scores.
Really three because you got to get a touchdown, a two-point conversion and a field goal to tie.
I understand the line of thinking that you want to get points after a long drive, this is 17th.
Play of the drive.
See if it works out for him here, 34 yard kick.
Now from the left half and the kick is on its way, and for dawn has put it through and put roam on the board.
Diego Cordon what a story.
He was their kicker got hurt at the end of last season, tore his ACL and John Reed.
Recruited him out of the weight room.
Taught him, how to kick.
The execution, nice follow-through leg right there at the Distance.
By 10 yards, you can see the excitement in him first real season this year, kicking a soccer player, great soccer player, just didn't know anything about American football, learned, it fast, learned it.
Well, parents became fans too.
Let's roam on the board, they're down eleven after the field goal by for Dawn.
What that tells me, though, that Phil go, right, there tells me that John Reed, believes his defense, his kind of figured something out with Langston Hughes driveway in those last couple of drives.
And don't break kind of mentality making huge make mistakes, get dropped by Barnes that's tall.
One of the drives for Hughes me to believe they feel like they can kind of contain Keep them from rolling up a big score here and so we can take the three right now, because we're in the game.
And how this game Switz, it started off.
And you feel like a helpful answer is about to happen to Rome with the way that Langston Hughes came out.
They were able to weather that little bit of storm, get their bearings about them, John rietz, great coach, and I felt like, you know, you got John Reed on your side line, you got a chance, He's he's he's going to figure things out.
He's gonna make adjustments, 28:17, by the way, in Moultrie Carrollton did score from inside the Red Zone and Hannah and John going to have more on that coming up here at halftime.
But here at Lakewood Stadium A6, a semifinal Langston Hughes on top.
They jumped out big early.
Like Wayne said, look like they were going to start rolling the wrong started to figure.
Things out, started running the football and they're in the game.
It's 2:46.
Here is the teams are headed to the locker room and let's send it to Autumn now, coach Williams, impressive, Stellar defensive performance by this, Langston Hughes team highlighted.
By the interception that we saw.
What do you tell your guys in the locker room to keep that energy going?
We gotta keep playing.
We just got to keep playing like to use football so we can come out and visit the second half Rome is a good thing.
Then come out firing on to take a half an awesome.
So we got a mess.
They're in jail Middlebrooks, he had the first two touchdowns for this team.
I'm going in the second half as well, we just got to keep on doing our job up front, you know, the old line of doing a good job.
We identify the guys we want to try to go with and they're doing a great job with this.
Thank you coach.
Hanna, let's head back to you in the studio.
Thanks Autumn.
Great job today.
Coming up on the regions halftime show John and I will take you through who could be in and who could be out of the GHSA Championship with some Bracketology, it's all next right here on GPB.

Welcome to football, Fridays and Georgia halftime show presented by regions.
Get back in the game.
With Regions Bank, I'm in a good and we're live from the GPB Sports studios in Atlanta.
It's halftime of the six, a semi final game between Rome and Langston Hughes.
This is the team's first ever meeting its GHSA semi-final night.
All around the state were 32 teams are in action and will be narrowing that down to the final 16 tonight, let's see, who could be punching their ticket to the 2022.
GHSA championships at Center Park Stadium next week on George's.
EMC, scoreboard.
The MCS, it's so much more than electricity our halftime score of Rome versus Hughes the Panthers are up 2:46.
The winner of that game will face either Gainesville or Roswell.
Red, elephants are leading right now.
6:32 in 7A, our first game of our doubleheader coverage was Mill Creek versus Milton.
The Hawks 148 214 earlier today to punch their ticket.
They will face either Carrollton or Colquitt County.
And right now, the Trojans are leaving 28 to 17 at the the half will bring in John Nelson now and John, I'd love to talk about that game.
I just mentioned what's going on there in Moultrie?
Well, it right now in the third quarter times winding down and you got the chance to kind of see the drive-by Carrollton.
They were up 21:17, they would end up closing that drive out with a score.
Game was back and forth in the first half as well.
But Carrollton, scored to take the lead with under 30 seconds to go in the first half.
Let's take a peek at what's going on right now at the Hog Pen still.
Time winding down in the third and you see once again Carrollton on offense a couple of familiar faces Juju Lewis and Bryce Hicks right there.
Thanks to our friends at the nfhs network, for letting us kind of take a peek at what's going on at the Hog Pen.
But last week both of these teams Hannah put 52 on the board.
They're kind of on that same kind of pace maybe just a little bit less but Carrollton down early in a very tough environment at Colquitt County showing that they are very very Stout with a Young quarterback at the helm.
John, we promised Bracketology.
So let's pull that 78, bracket follin, see what happened?
All right, so let's figure out how we got to this particular, final, four, and with Mill Creek and Milton.
Once again, we saw what was going on there.
We talked about that Westlake working your way.
Backward, you end up with Mill, Creek, beating West Lake, North Cobb and Meadow Creek.
They have made all their way through Conquest County knocking off, North Gwinnett, then they knocked off Harrison and round 2 round one, they beat the brook Carrollton, working their way back.
They had louns In the first round, then they beat Marietta and they beat Walton in round 3.
So, you're looking at a team in Walton that beat Buford sent a top, five team, nationally home and Carrollton, and Colquitt County in a big back and forth.
Right now, late, third quarter.
We've got a lot more Bracketology to come.
We're going to take you through every single one.
So stick with us right here on GPB.
Buckle up Georgia is back on the road.
In this week, we went to North Gwinnett, High School, to show our VR crash to football fans of all ages.
What I saw in the video was we had some Crash Test Dummies and they weren't buckled up in the sea and it was basically kind of veering off the road to where the control of the car was lost and then it rolled a few times.
And you can see the dummy at the end of the video.
It's, you know, it's odd, it's not in the right position, it's obviously messed up.
In the impact, of our crash, seemed to strike a nerve for safe driving.
My son has learner's permit.
So of course he's getting some experience behind the wheel although he always wears his seatbelt, I do have anxiety just because he's a teenage boy, it's a little bit nerve-racking.
As I have a 15 year old that's learning how to drive.
So we're constantly trying to warn them about safety and being defensive drivers and cautious wearing their seatbelt.
But one high school student already learned the importance of wearing his seatbelt.
I was in a car accident and luckily thing God, I have my seatbelt on but if I did it I don't even know.
I could have ejected out of the car or anything like that.
I think that's a my life and be safe drivers agreed that our VR crash is worth checking out the be able to see what could possibly happen if you're not paying attention.
I think can be a great deterrent without a doubt.
Everybody needs to watch it period.
Point blank in the discussion.
You can also check out our VR rollover crash by going to gpb.org/sports Cal up Georgia.

He hadn't 5060 offers.
Definitely just being around my dad.
I'll hoist Vision to myself for being better than him.
I hope you've enjoyed watching.

Welcome back to the Region's halftime show.
I'm Hannah good and alongside Jon Nelson.
It's halftime of Rome versus Hughes at Lakewood Stadium.
Panthers, on top 2:46.
And John the Wolves.
Finally got on the board there, right before the end of the half, what are your overall thoughts so far?
Well, with shoes, we've seen them, just incredible offensive output all season long, but we've also known that John Reed in the ROM wolves.
Very, very stingy defensively.
So the fact that this game is not Not having a lot of points on the board, not necessarily a surprise, John Reed, has his team's ready on the defensive side of the ball.
I think getting that three, at the end of the half, key for momentum sake, to sit there and say, okay, it's almost like Rocky for when you finally draw blood on Yvonne Drago and your Rocky.
It's like, okay, he's not a machine, he's a man, it's almost proving that mortality is there for Hughes you've got points on the board.
Now, what do you do with it?
In the third and fourth quarter?
We've already shown you the seven a bracket.
So let's start breaking.
Khatallah g off with six age on our game plays, the winner of Gainesville versus Roswell Gainesville and Roswell that one is now 2817 as we're looking forward to that one.
So Gainesville had a 28-7 lead.
Roswell has been getting back and getting back and getting closer.
But Gainesville, they had a big lead roswell's been closing the distance, so the winner of that one, on the left hand side gets the winner of ours, on the right hand side and five, a Dutch town is plain where County in the Bulldogs are in the semi-finals.
The first time ever.
Yeah.
And we're county has been putting up big numbers in this one.
They got out to a big lead against the Dutch town, Bulldogs Warner Robins is leading Cartersville at the Mac.
3210, that one's heading to the fourth quarter and for a North, Oconee is playing Cedartown at Doc.
Ayres field.
These are the top two teams in the class.
Troop is also facing.
Benedictine looks like the cadets are running away with a John.
Yeah Benedictine had a thirty five, nothing lead.
Look Chrome and Hawkins a quandary.
Through the names that you need to know for Benedictine, they had a big lead against troop right now.
It is 42 7.
We can update that one.
That one is 42 7 now that one heading to the fourth quarter.
So anticipate a running clock on the right-hand side of the bracket at Savannah Memorial Stadium.
Benedictine should be making a return trip to Center Park Cedartown in North Dakota, this one's Tai, dit, da cares, but Cedartown with the lead 2113.
That one is in the third quarter and AAA the theme is Region 5, + 0 code.
The county.
Yeah, on the left hand side, Carver Atlanta, by the way, Carver Atlanta had an eight nothing lead on Sandy Creek.
Wow, Sandy Creek has now, run off, thirty five straight points.
35 8 on the left-hand side of the bracket Cedar, Grove was up, nine nothing at the half.
They are now up, 23 nothing in the fourth quarter, in that one at, but Godfrey stadium.
So you have Sandy Creek and it looks like Cedar Grove out of region five.
So Region, 5 in Region 5 at Center Park.
Looks like and a a it's the first ever meeting between Fellowship, Christian and fish.
Gerald.
And then Thompson is taking on Appling who's chasing its first-ever final appearance John and it's 76 year history.
Yep.
Fitzgerald was up 19:9 and that one was late in the fourth quarter Appling and Thompson.
Thompson was up 13, nothing that one was at the half and Thompson, still leading that 113.
Nothing as they chase after the legacy of Luther Welsh and single a division.
One, we've got some Heavy Hitters like Irwin County playing Swainsboro and P AC taking on Saint.
Francis the nights.
Our a semi-final newbie.
Yep.
Frank Martin.
The head coach of former head coach of the Cartersville purple hurricanes is now the head.
The head coach at st. Francis, they're Hangin Tough.
Fourth quarter P. AC is leading by the score of 2114 Swainsboro and Irwin County Swainsboro had an early lead in this one.
It was 1988 or when county has come all the way back at buddy, Nobles.
And that one fourth quarter Irwin County with a two-point lead 2119, and in single a division 2.
We have another semi newbie in slide County, the Wildcats are facing Johnson County and running back germ, IV Tucker and they have clamped down on Johnson County.
It looks like Sly county, is this close to making their first ever appearance in the last game of the year.
The name to know for Sly County, junior quarterback.
Jay kanazawa Sly County and Elavil this close to representing coming out of the right hand side, Bowden and Lincoln County Bowden got out to a big lead, Lincoln County recover, the onside kick to start the third quarter but Bowden has scored twice 30.
3821, Bowden leading in the fourth quarter so we could have some newbies It Center Park as well especially in single a Hannah.
Okay.
John are we ringing any upset alerts this time of year?
I don't know if there is necessarily upset alert, she got some close ones.
I know that a lot of folks were looking at Prince Avenue, perhaps and st. Francis.
But as you kind of thumb your way through these, maybe it's the margins.
I know a lot of folks looking at Warner Robins, but Warner Robins playing at home against a very tough Cartersville team.
You look at that, when lat This record for Warner Robins and non-region, play a lot of folks wrote them off.
Never write off Warner Robins.
Thanks John.
That's how you do a quick bracket stay with us halftime isn't over just yet.
Alcohol.
Abuse claims the lives of too many of our friends and family here in Georgia Kirk Erickson Cigna.
General manager for Georgia and Alabama is here with tips on how to get help for yourself, and your loved ones Kirk.
Why is it so important to talk about alcohol abuse here in Georgia?
Well, alcohol is the primary drug of choice for more than half of Georgians who seek treatment for abuse.
So it's drunk driving impacts more than one in five of traffic fatalities.
And it is Absolutely an issue that impacts all of us, impacts our community as it impacts.
Our families, that impacts our job sites.
Should we be concerned about teenagers and alcohol?
Most certainly most recent statistics show that 25% of Georgia teams have had at least one drink in the past month.
Ten percent of a Georgia teens are currently binge drinking and I think it's safe to say that 100% of Georgia, teens experience, peer pressure regarding drinking.
We need to talk to them.
Because if we aren't somebody else's, we need to Model, good behavior, because if we don't, no one else will.
Wow.
Those statistics are alarming.
How do I get help for myself or a loved one?
Well, many employer Health Plans offer an EAP or employee assistance program and many plans also offer substance abuse programs.
It is not a problem to ask for help.
That's not a sign of weakness.
That's a sign of strength use those benefits that you have available to you.
There are also free Alternatives, like Alcoholics Anonymous and alateen, ask for help if you need it.
What are the warning signs?
Boys, you see your children or your loved ones drawing back socially, if you see your children, having decreased grades or just behaving differently, and maybe having fits of Rage or things like that, our teams aren't very good at displaying moderation.
And so they're prone to take things to access just be looking for those types of Behavioral changes.
There's no one Surefire sign, but all of those piled together can really give you a good indicator.
Kirk this is so important, especially for our youths.
Oh, thank you for being here.

43 and I'm joined by coach coach.
What did you say to your guys in the halftime?
As you guys are down right now?
Well, I told these kids from Floyd County, Rome City, Schools to Rome wolves.
I told him that we started off bad.
We gave a great team.
Great head start.
So we had to dig ourselves out of it.
We won the second quarter we had tried to win the thern.
You won the second quarter.
As you mentioned, what was the confidence that you saw in that and what you're impressed with that you can build on?
Well we move.
Ball a little bit and had a couple timely drives and so we got to we got to hit a big play here and try to keep them off the scoreboard and third quarter.
Thank you, coach, good luck back to you guys.
Thank you Autumn.
I agree.
I mean I felt like they built a lot of confidence with that 6 Plus minute drive that got him, the three points and now, they gotta build some points on top of that confidence.
It was able to withstand that Avalanche of early success with your Carol Miller.
Holbrook by Langston Hughes kind of settled the game down.
And now you have Langston Hughes, having a figure out a way to get some points themselves, to push this game to a victory.
All right, let's take a look at those first half highlights.
Like you said, it was an avalanche to start the game.
First two, possessions in Langston Hughes takes a 14 to nothing lead.
Scale Middlebrook one yard touchdown run and then a big interception right here by Terence love.
The Auburn commit.
It sets up a short field for another touchdown and the short field was key to this first half success by Langston Hughes.
Once again, getting the ball that you kill.
Middlebrook put a touchdown run to push it to 14-0 but then Rome started to get their footing.
They got back in the fight, they get a 34 yard field goal by cord own right there at the end of the second quarter to make it a 2:46 game, as we get ready to head.
The third quarter and you can see Hughes by no means is dominating this game.
Statistically, it was an interception to short fields that led to their two touchdowns and Rome success on fourth down, which kept some drives alive for them and doing what you need to do.
When you're taking on an offensive, Juggernaut keep the ball out of their hands.
And that's how they kind of got this game back close to 14 to 3.
So it should be a very interesting second.
Half with the winner advancing to the 6A state championship game a week from tonight, at Center Park Stadium, and will play the winner of the Gainesville Rome semifinal.
And at halftime, there the red elephants were defeating the Hornets 2814.
We'll keep you updated on all the scores, as we start to get some finals coming in.
John Nelson will keep you updated.
We already know that Mill Creek is in the 7A state championship game.
That was our first semifinal tonight as they beat Milton 48 to 14.
And the second half kickoff is brought to you by buckle up Georgia, buckle up Georgia seatbelts save lives and Rome will be kicking off.
The Langston Hughes and cord own.
Tees it up, and has it ready to go?
Barnes, back there.
Deep for the Panthers.
This is always decision.
You got to make against Langston Hughes.
Do your kick deep The third quarter is underway, Lime Drive on the ground kick that's fielded at the 20 team, and just a seven yard return up to the 29.
So, going to make Langston Hughes Drive, the length of the field here from the 29, and that was kind of the key of groan being able to get back in this game, they were able to get a stop punt, the ball and make Langston Hughes Drive, the length of the field.
And when that happened, it, threw them out of that.
Room.
They were able to capitalize on a drop by JD Barnes and now getting us these offenses.
We say talked about was so potent, get into any kind of GrooVe here to start the second half.
That kind of tells the story right there.
66 yards, two scores on the first two drives, just 33 yards on the next two drives as Middlebrook starts.
The game with a handoff tackle made by Alto more there.
Mike linebacker.
Leading tackler for offers including Michigan State, Georgia state liberty.
After imagined himself to his office, has to start trying to maybe get the quality warming permanent down the feel out, not sure.
He has been in the mix, it all in that.
First half, running, a screen underneath, nice, open field, tackle again.
This one is by Trey Adams.
Again, like I said, in the first half, I'm really impressed pursuit of this ROM defensive line.
Its job.
Retracing his stick, getting back into place.
Staying Alive, is the key to this defensive front to whale atoms.
Stay alive and play to the whistle.
That was a catch by Giovanni McGee, are Nolan false start on the offense.
We Are Family third down.
Wow.
So third one just became third and six.
They're Nolan seven of eight, eight of nine passing.
Now, with that completion right there, just 55 yards.
The one incompletion was a drop by Jane Barnes.
He should be perfect on tonight.
It was all friends.
It's gonna get them.
Jump started, we started with a lot of energy, and now it seems to be a lot of standing around little body motion, nice drawing.
Catch here, get the ball out on the edge there, the Jovani McGee.
Martel height making the tackle.
Let's check in with Autumn Johnson.
Hey guys, well I had a chance to catch up with Langston Hughes principal Octavius.
Harris during the half to ask him.
What does he love about this links to use team?
He told me that they're resilient great kids and every day they show that they're Pros, ask them how far this team could go and he told me I anticipate winning it all, we lost by one point last year in the championship game and they take that game, personal every single game we haven't lost since then they're coming in with the chipper.
Shoulder and they have laser focus.
Appreciate that.
Nolan was able to dunk the ball off to Jelani Thurman.
For the First Catch of the game for the big tide in the short game, for Jelani Thurman right there.
First time, we've kind of seen are Nolan, have to get off his spot and make it play with his legs.
Extend the player, good pressure by Green 91, the wrong second down and nine this to incompletions are Oh balls, that is wide receivers.
Should have caught that was Judea Willoughby.
Let Robin go through his hands and that's the kind of energy their body language.
He'll seemed to be really in this game playing in neutral.
Excitement protection.
Got the ball out.
No reason not to come up with the catch by Willoughby.
Yeah, let me ask you this.
I mean, we compare this game to fight a boxing match in the first half.
They flew through those floor.
Your punches.
Usually, at that time, they got The Knockout.
Well, Romans counterpunched that, not many teams have counterpunch then the season.
Maybe that has something to do with it.
They don't have many games this season delay of game penalty, third down that are this close to minutes into the second half, usually the blowouts by now.
So I think the fact that Rome is stood in the fight and if counterpunch has shown some you know intensity themselves something that Langston Hughes really hasn't seen much of this regular season.
They have not had a one score game since last Last year's 685 and cruise control a little lackadaisical and this ROM teen.
You don't get to be on the feet.
Are they are without having some fight in, you Nolan drops it off the one for a first down.
Jaden Barnes streaking down the sideline, gonna take it to the house actually Jack.
L Middlebrook 64 yards, Jack L Millbrook with his third.
Touch down to the night and that'll light a fire under the Panthers fans.
Great job by letting the defense come to him on the screen.
Looking them off to the right needing Middlebrook and it's all about his talent.
We talked about how great he's been here in the last five or six games.
Running the ball right here, breaking three tackles and making a foot race.
Big play for the touchdown, maybe that will be that sparked.
We're looking for with this offense provided by Middlebrook and many holds on the p80 kick up and good by Solano.
And it's 2:39 50th touchdown pass of the season for are Nolan but it was Jack L, Middlebrook who did all the heavy lifting This program on GPB is made possible in part by supporters of the Georgia, High School Association including the following because it's store last night.
Don't worry, I'm on my way.
Let's go to work.
Lucky.
It's good to be lucky, it's better to have Georgia Farm Bureau Insurance.
Are you an enthusiastic sports fan?
Want to have fun and get in on the action?
Heck yes, that'd be awesome.
Have great attention to detail.
Want to stay active.
Definitely want to give back to the student-athletes in your community, obviously?
Yes, then you'd make an excellent High School sports official.
We need more officials in Georgia because with no high school officials, there are no high school sports sign up today at high school officials.com commute with confidence, Express can take you to and from work, just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride, more information at Express G, a.com a proud supporter of High School athletics, Has anybody had a bigger second half of the Season than jakeel Middlebrook?
He has scored all three touchdowns for the Panthers tonight.
As you take a look at the Red Ribbon campaign, scoring Drive 6, Place 71-yard 64 the yards on the legs of Middlebrook definitely has been impactful player that is balanced is offense, and that display on that lies screen for a touchdown kind of sums up the kind.
A player that he is breaking 34 tackles making a foot raised and getting on the board.
When this team team to be dragging making parodies dropping balls.
He's provided hopefully that spark that goes.
Daniel Boone is looking for Martel height standing deep for Rome.
It's going to be a short kick taken at the 24, my height and came up from Deep to field that and they get good field position out of it.
As the ball is now at the 39, let's take a look at the Breda management live look in.
And how about this Carrollton on the road?
3520 lead on Colquitt County in the seven, a semifinal Carrollton playing their first year in seven, a ball ever.
They were in 6A last year and about to, if they can hold on and get this win, the Trojans would improve to 14 and 0 0.
On the season with a freshman quarterback.
Great freshman quarterback.
Talented running back in price.
Fix explosive offensive team they might be facing Mill Creek.
If they win, they will be in the state championship game.
Nice, play call right there on the opening snap let Fountain running up the middle.
Let's loosen up this defense a little bit motion.
Just curious, McDermott Alka.
Try to lighten up the box, going right to the quarter.
Back draw right there reached Fountain.
We've seen a couple of times a night.
His ability to use his legs and cut that down and distance down for himself and stay out of those second and third and long and picks up the first down.
Two solid plays to start this third quarter possession for Rome to see their last two drives.
Definitely a difference 90 yards last two drives -18 their first two.
It Factor than falling behind by two touchdowns and delivers.
Downfield incomplete, Bray was in the area.
Code, Leo flag, we might have a late hit The pass rusher who was chasing Reese?
Did he follow through and drop him to the ground?
Trying to set up?
The screen was Reese Fountain to McDermott sniffed out by that defensive front of mirror.
Glenn, 56 doing a good job, dropping off.
Now, it's going to be on Rome.
Ineligible downfield, five-yard penalty replay, first down.
Sometimes on those screens in those backs, get locked up.
Up in there and can't get out those linemen have already left and have drifted down feel.
And in that case, right there as a miracle and the be tackled, followed, the German was a line down the fuel herbs.
Short game, for McGary moon, right there.
We've only seen two of the three running backs tonight.
McDermott has gotten most of the word that is his ninth carry right there Arthur's had one and the other back.
Jaden Harmon who actually has more carries than the other two has not had a carry tonight.
Screw 2:39, still have time to have an effective Run game.
How to speed up the pace.
You feel like long days.
Flip it out there to make dearman has a man to beat me do it Santonio poppy Jones, does his good a job on open field tackles as anybody we've seen this.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is a young South more, right here, Papi, Jones.
This is just a great tackle on a talented running back, McDermott South for on South more open field.
Plenty of space on either side of the like maybe hurt his arm as he needs to feel.
There is He Jones, third down and eight and just has a cool name too.
18 yard pickup for the first down was Runnin, loose seam route, here is gray, over-possessive receiver, good protection leading, keeping the ball, high great timing.
There on the hit by Terence love, nothing dirty About That Bass.
Has up, hit him in the chest.
We're checking to see if he's okay.
Yeah I'm okay.
First and Ten from the 29 scrimmage, another tfl for this Panthers defense.
All about the penetration of Charles Daniels right there 15.
Not able to come up with the tackle.
Jacquizz Oliver making that tackle but great penetration.
Once again by this defensive line that loves the road Tate six or seven bodies in there, to keep each other fresh Colquitt has scored its 3527.
Packers of cut the Trojans lead to eight with three and a half minutes to play in regulation.
Seventh play of this Drive, Fountain gonna go down at the 34 Relentless pass rush, and there is javonni Thurman.
We told you that he would make his presence felt on the defensive side of the ball as well.
I think he's just as talented as a DM as a tight end, but he's kind of a unicorn as a tight end.
That's where he's going to play at Ohio.
State has great get off as a defensive and long, those Longhorns, as you can see right there, come in handy, when you're trying to reach out for that quarterback.
What a physical specimen.
He is so much potential on where he might be able to go as a tight end.
Third and 16 Fountain running the screen here to Daniel got a block.
Daniel gonna get to the 34 Let's see how close to the first down.
They are, I believe they will be going for it here with five minutes left in the third quarter.
On this play here, just a block underneath screen, trying to get the ball to The Talented players.
Hand fourth and five, they jumped offside.
Just gifted Rome a first down and Jelani Thurman.
Got a little too anxious.
Taking advantage on that part.
And as we talked about so much talent as a tight end, may be equally as a Dean sometimes.
When United, sisterly out there defensively your little jittery, and right there.
In that case, as I said, quick off the ball fast off the ball, that time taking advantage of his aggressiveness is wrong.
So, First and Ten from the 19 yard line, Fountain, one of the running Nothing do nothing right there and that was the Marcus Brown.
What a game.
The Marcus Brown is having once again beating the tackle underneath here, 57 going underneath Jamil Williams, young, South more athletic, and get back into the play to the outside and bring down reach Fountain.
The Marcus Brown, that's his second quarterback.
Sack of the Game seven total, tackles the Marcus Brown on the Stellar performance here for the Panthers tonight.
Second and 13, Daniel couldn't come up with it.
It was nearly intercepted, was it?
They're going to count that as an interception deflecting off of Daniels hands and into the hands of Jakari Martin.
Wow, look at that interception.
SportsCenter Top.
10 nominee right there.
That's a off the shoe tops interception for Jakari Martin and the Panthers, get the ball back.

This is heart.
This is pride.
This is community.
This is high school football, big turnover, Force by that Panthers defense to Marcus Brown playing great defense.
Dakari Martin coming up with a huge interception, gets the turnover Over chain.
Meantime, in Moultrie, going down to the wire with Carrollton.
Still leading Colquitt.
Trojans, have the ball 35:27, final minutes of that semifinal and Mack Tharpe Stadium.
Number three on the Run for the Trojans.
Now, the interception by Martin was not in the endzone, so bald down at the one-yard line here for the Panthers, running out of the end zone.
If you're the wrong defensive coordinator Wayne Groves, you hold your breath right there because he's about step away from Going the Distance.
First time we've seen this play here tonight.
Little cost to get into the outside out of the traffic.
Typically, when you're inside the one, you just run the ball.
Straight ahead try to create some space that time taking the gamble, pitching the ball to the outside, but that's who you want to get the ball to the hands that you killed Middlebrook Willoughby with the Catch Darius Smith, the tackle for Rome.
That was a killer turnover for obvious reasons, but also the fact they took five minutes off the clock and didn't score.
The game has shortened significantly and they still need to get three touchdowns.
That's the thing, when you come into a game like this and want to take the air out of the ball, if you're wrong, who all know what those long drives they've had success.
With that, in the last three or four Drive capitalized punches Mountain, gave the ball back to ninth season seems to have a little more energy.
Now, as we saw a face cream touchdown get the kill they kind of got back into their Mojo which is Peak plays.
They had the 64 yard catch and run by Middlebrooks third touchdown of the night and then you have the interception by Jakari Martin, they're a team that really feeds off.
The big Blaze and they picked up two of them here in this third quarter.
That's blocking up front right side.
Sailor both Hughley great Patience by Miller broker's.
Well letting those offensive linemen pool and set up their blocks.
He says a lot of patience.
Both usually 55 looks like a basketball player.
Looks like a power forward behind up attacker.
What the ball out there to the far side out of bounds near the sticks.
And it U, Glee recruiting story.
Could get interesting.
He's been recruiting even all.
He's been committed to Georgia for 14 months.
It's taken a lot of unofficial visits to Auburn.
Has already announced.
He's not signing on the first sign.
They not signing into February.
Be very interesting the way he moves, if he stays on that right side of the ball right now, he's just over there because you got to get done Trail Glover, tapping it, South more over there on the field.
Ball comes out, they're gonna roll it down by contact, Thurman, the catch, and then the ball squirted out with a ruling down by contact with the ground.
So now it's going to be third down.
Farming is upsetting people speak.
This is the screen out on the edge, looks like a mad angry already out until we hit the ground.
Final minute of this third quarter salvaging their first down, run for Savage, Daniel, the safety comes up and makes maybe a touchdown saving tackle right there.
That's a law.
The way that Justice Savage physical would is Run game right here.
The bigger of the two backs.
They come in more, marketed as thunder and lightning.
Who's 5tm 200?
Justice Target right there.
That's the first real incompletion on him tonight.
Mr. McGee across the middle and you can see the frustration on his face.
He knows he missed him right there.
That's one of those.
Could I please run that play back coach here?
No one is covering Javon.
IMA keep coming across the middle to feel, not just miss right there.
By putting this Nola second down.
And 10 over here, the Willoughby will be gets out of the tackle.
They're going to lose down me.
Hit the ground.
Will be popped up real quick and started running to be third down.
Play tonight, just getting these quick balls out to these receivers.
He's clearly that his knee is down as he catches the ball to Sunday.
Will be for that account in Sunday games, you can get up in front with the ball.
See if they get this play off before the end of the third quarter.
They do.
Nolan fires and traffic brought in.
Still running his barn Jaden Barnes down at the 22 on the final play of the third quarter.
26-yard pick up on the pass from Nolan to Barnes and they're set up in good field position as we head to the fourth at Lakewood Stadium.
21-3 Langston Hughes, 12 minutes away from another trip to the state.
Vinyl.
Well, we've got a quick break in the action.

What impacted your decision.
It was opportunity to earn money and learn on the job.
I really love working with my hands building things and being part of a team.

A semifinal Langston Hughes 21-3 lead on the ROM walls.
We have a final now on our Breda Pest Management.
Live look in Carrollton, defeats Colquitt County, 3527.
So the Trojans in their first year in 78.
Football, Joey, King freshman quarterback Jean-Louis going to play in the state championship game Mill Creek.
Which we will have for you here on GPB next, Saturday night at 7:00.
Nolan, hangs on to the ball, goes back to Ronnie Thurman inside the 5-yard line.
It's Nolan holding this RPO for a long time and Elsa doll field offense.
He was holding you a long time.
You got to get this ball out of your hand, to make that pass and running downfield.
Here's a look at the bracket are 78.
Final is set Carrollton.
Trojans, at No, taking on the Mill Creek, Hawks at 13 and 1 Mill Creek in the State final for the first time ever Carrollton for the first time.
Since 2013 gunning for their first state championship.
Since 1998 ball, thrown down Field, West 14 yard line, and a first down Jaden Barnes.
This guy here, Jaden Barnes is such an under-the-radar guy to me, that's a 13-yard pickup.
He's got over 1,000 yards, receiving now this season.
We're to monitor, young, man, that has 10 800 meters speed, very explosive.
I can hide as you can see, going up and grabbing at a very high point to bring it down.
So much talent.
He is brought to this field for this team.
This season Barnes has four catches tonight so he's got thirty eight catches on the season.
Over 1,000 yards.
You do the math.
That's over 30 yards per catch Timeout, on the field.
This program on GPB is made possible in part by supporters of the Georgia, High School Association including the following because it's store last night.

I got it Mom.
In the blink of an eye.
So many tomorrow's can disappear buckle up for your future every trip.
Every time a message from the governor's office of Highway Safety.
Six of our matchups are figured out for Center Park.
Let's go through the ones that we know you already know, seven a Class A division, one Swainsboro kick, the leg field goal, they beat Irwin County, they take on Prince Avenue Christian.
Bowden they take on slide County.
So I County gets to go to Center Park, to a championship game for the first time in school history, in double-a, Fitzgerald returns, they take on the Thomson Bulldogs, they be Tamplin County, 22, 14, quad a Cedartown beats North Dakota 2820.
They take on Benedictine who put up a number early and beat troop in.
In 58.
Where County 31-7 of her?
Dutch town?
Matt Warner Robins 3510 over Cartersville more in a bit.
Wow, is that, is it six or seven in a row?
State finals.
Now for one of robins I think 6 that is 6, state finals in a row for the demon.
Going up top into the end zone.
Touchdown Langston Hughes Judea Willoughby on the end of a 14-yard touchdown pass right there.
50 first touchdown pass of the season for are Nolan.
Just a great route here by will be out on the edge.
Really selling the out to the cornerback.
We're breaking up feel.
Good, fine.
Nice, touch pass.
Anticipation by Nolan.
Solano on for the p80.
And the kick is gonna be good.
Knuckles through there.
2:32 Langston news.
Just walk the ball down, the field touchdown attention up front.
That right there is what they call throwing the receiver.
Receiver comes out is great.
The cornerback has no chains recovering the plate.
Your Governor's Red Ribbon campaign scoring Drive, 11 plays and 99 yards and they burn close to five minutes off the clock.
So after Rome burned nearly five minutes off the clock and didn't score Hughes answers with close to five minutes off the clock and does score and they close to put the game Out Of Reach here.
2:32 all starting with the interception by Martin to get them back, the ball after long, went on that drive and then offense finally looking like we thought it would after that big run on the screen by Middlebrook, what a dry off.
You 1-yard line, you have to see the team that does that and punches it in for a touchdown.
The sidelines goes height, height gonna be out of Bounds at the 40-yard line, so that's what Roma, send the offense out, 60 yards away, 21 yard, return by height, and two of their touchdowns tonight, Wayne of come after interceptions, the second one, after A Parent's Love interception.
This one after the interception by Martin Rome's, Last three drives 118 total yards but only three points.
Definitely the offense has been standing of capitalizing on the short field or taking advantage when the defense gives them a gift, hitting the feel and running now this wrong team, big score to try to come up cancer for this kind of Defense specially on the vacuum.
Got to be real smart with the ball.
If you reached out to us back at the 30.
A 8 yard line.
The pressure of the field is D lines.
Just waiting on a situation.
They can Rush the past and you get that feel how these guys just come off the ball.
The big fella right there in the middle.
They want to eat Josh Horton.
Horton an interesting story.
He's been committed in North Carolina for a while.
Now, over 31 other offers Fountain being chased Stand, throws incomplete.
But going back to Josh Horton committed in North Carolina over his two other finals, which were UCF and Auburn, but he took an unofficial visit to Miami in October, and that set off a chain of 24/7 Sports Crystal Ball predictions, that he was going to flip the Miami.
That hasn't happened yet course, we still got a couple of weeks to go before Signing Day.
See the ESPN 3 star defensive lineman status.
65 to 90.
Taking it back the other way.
Down the sideline that is a pick six touchdown, Langston Hughes Xavier and Leonard the nickel bag.
45 yard, pick six.
Definitely put this game Out Of Reach, we talked about it.
On the drive, started going down, such a big school, Reese, fouls, in a lot of pressure, gets these kind of secondary back in of the defense.
No real pressure in his face.
What?
An interception there by that young man men are reaching out with that.
Big right hand and one hand, catch on that interception.
Making a house call to put seven on the board.
Second interception of the season.
Third interception of the night for this Langston Hughes defense.
Now, 17 total interceptions on the season, the turnover chain, for Xavier, Leonard and no, p80 missed the p80.
That should be inconsequential.
It's 34, 23.
Just not kind of decent, there's so much talent over there, extra point, like everything was working well, just penetration there by Rome on defense, to get the block p80.
I would like to see them Institute in high school football.
Now Not that they asked me, but I'm always full of opinions.
I would like to see them Institute, the live ball on the p80, like they have in college.
Definitely would make it much interesting to me make it alive, Plumbing, with your wild, for you to get a block big.
You can scoop that thing and score.
Take it back the other way for two points.
I think it's, it doesn't happen very often, but it's a nice little wrinkle that college football put in and make it alive play for everybody.
Shoulder barrels, toward to the 31-yard line and now, Rome down 34-31 goes back on offense with under 10 minutes left in this 16, am the lone remaining precincts that still have not had all the votes counted in it since we're kind of an election time since like the actually an election time.
But six a still uncounted.
We got Langston Hughes.
Exit polls show.
They got a big lead and Gainesville had a lead on Roswell to.
So 68 final is the one that were remaining to find out what's going to get locked in and that will be next Friday night at Center.
Park Stadium will be the 7:00 Central Park Stadium next Friday night.
Looks like we have a timeout called by Rome.
Maybe an extra man on the field of should've been out.

Let's start closing out our precincts, AAA was still in play.
Technically last time that we caught up with each other Sandy Creek, over Carver Atlanta, by the score of 4914 Carver Atlanta had an eight, nothing lead in that one on the right-hand side of the bracket Cedar, Grove shuts out a, Coney County by the score of 23, nothing and Matt piece of history and a piece of trivia Warner, Robins joins Lincoln County and Buford as only three programs.
Now, Now in Georgia High School Association football history to make it to six straight Championship.
Games is Warner.
Robins will face where County December 10th and John.
How about the job that Marquis Westbrook there by head coach has done.
They were at 1:00 and 4:00 at the halfway point of the season.
If I'm not mistaken and may have rebounded tenon for, and going to the state championship game for a sixth consecutive season.
Quite an effort there by one of robins is season.
Once Again, showing tear one of the best teams in the state and they'll be gunning for their third consecutive state championship.
And that'll be the five.
A final that will be played on Saturday afternoon.
I'll be the middle game and Saturday it Center Park Stadium.
The Run by chance.
Arthur.
Officials time out in back.
No was lineman, got Jamil Williams, the sophomore, right?
Tackle.
Shaken up on the play.
We'll get John if we get a moment just kind of run through all the finals.
Again, that we have as far as he's the matchups, you're going to be, like he said, we know, 7A is Mill Creek and Carrollton.
We're waiting to find out who Langston Hughes is going to play in 6A.
Go back to John and a few moments you can kind of give us a recap as we're getting late on this Friday night.
Williams up walking, it off had his hands full tonight with the Marcus Brown and Walker's plans at it credible game.
Two quarterback sacks.
Seven total tackles Steve thinks I'm get a lot of credit for.
This is why this team is just a hard out.
As much as they can put 40 to 50 points on you.
They also can hold you, the 10 12 points with Got Talent.
Hey, only give up 11 points per game.
The defensive coordinator been Arnold Creekside High School.
To course we've detailed numerous times, the Creekside coaching influence here at Langston Hughes Daniel.
Boone, Williams played at Creekside played with current coach Mo Dixon, who's the head coach of the Seminoles, like, Got knocked out last week in the porters.
DB Coach Josh old Z.
Played at Auburn, went to the NFL draft grounding intentional, grounding and Fountain pressure in his face.
This loss, the fuel aware, he was in the pocket.
Backing up was not count as out of the pocket five-yard loss of that second half.
Langston Hughes going back to the state finals for the second consecutive year.
In this is a new program, relatively new program.
This is just the 14th season in school history.
The open the school in 2009.
Over the last three years.
They have become one of those dominant programs in the state.
Arnold.
And that is just not a plate at his really gave any weight to this defense.
A lot of teams you can throw those real quick screens or belly screens out to the running back, they can make guys miss get some yards, these are teepees and then lime went linebackers.
I've just shut that play down tonight.
Look at the big plays by the Panthers.
Tonight, the 90 FL the for quarterback sack, the three interceptions Starting to get desperate.
A lot of support from the offensive line right now.
As soon as he gets into his drop, he's got a defensive lineman in his face.
Definitely has gotten tired of seeing the Marcus Brown 57 in this phase.
Once again.
By the time he turns around you would.
Imagine that Rome would put someone to block to Marcus Brown coming free off.
Off the edge.
Just, not able to fake brownout was Fountain know where to go with the ball.
Brown with two sacks, the tfl six total tackles tonight.
Let's check in with John, John's new start giving us some of the Recaps, their people checking in, for the first time, that'll give you the partial the other Precinct that is yet to finish its reporting with a under 10 and a half to go.
Gainesville leading Roswell.
Now 3528 that is on the left hand side of your six, a bracket as you fill things out in pain.
Let's go through day by day.
Here, let's go, Thursday, remember flag football will start us off on Thursday, but you're Matchups in division.
One Swainsboro kicked a late field goal to win at Irwin County 22:21.
They will face Prince Avenue Christian who beat st. Francis, Frank bharden, great run to the semifinals for the next twenty four, twenty division to Bowden over Lincoln County 4528 and they'll face like a county first time ever for the folks from Elavil making it to a title game at beating Johnson County 35 6.
So that's your Thursday at Center Park.
Quarterback sack there for Rome as they get to are Noland.
One of the rare Times that anybody's got the here Nolan this season sack by Darius Smith right there.
Just a function we saw that earlier, we had Lyman down the field where are Nolan is really holding that RPO trying to bait, those safeties to come up a lot of time.
He made his choice defensive lineman already on it.
so when you and I know is going to be working at Swainsboro Prince Avenue Christian game, that'll be the first game that you and I have on Thursday night, single a division 1 championship Nolan fires a strike to Thurman flag on the play.
As Thurman, gets up to the 38th 16-yard pickup for Jelani Thurman.
Personal cloud place, man, defense 15-yard penalty.
Assessed on the end of the run, first down.
We question whether light salani, Thurmond is how to use it?
Where do you Line Em Up?
That kind of hide it 66.
Attach him to the line.
Do I flex him out as long strides.
Wait at that 50/50 ball as you can see now down at the bottom of your screen just so versatile.
What you can do with him.
He reminds me a lot of Eric Gilbert you started.
Marietta course.
Now, the University of Georgia, he doesn't have the production numbers that Gilbert.
You hear that turn unicorn a lot.
He's too big for dbe's to cover.
These 2 Fast 4, linebackers to covering for style change, get to the next level things even out a little bit, but I expect him to have a big College football career.
That party is catch radius.
Big guy with that kind of, Heidi's good out of the break as well inside the 10 yard line as Langston Hughes, looking to score again.
Another catch by Giovanni McGee goes for 15 yards protection.
Able to survey to feel soft on the back in.
Right there just throwing throwing catch throwing the ball in front of my tail height don't Southmore monkey He came in for team-leading 36 catches Nolan quickfire to the end zone and plucked out of the air by Judah.
Willoughby 42 3 Down real quick release, their just snapped it out of his arm with a 6-2 6-3.
Big frame catching the ball, strong hands, right there.
Now he's not the running quarterback that the number 7 who played here in Atlanta, Mike of it.
But his when he flicks that wrist, he looks like Michael the harshest with that left-handed delivery, nobody would seem like he's going to go that fast and that hard So, for to here, for the two-point conversion and it's 42, 23, James Barnes gets the tube.
Let's check back in with John.
All right, so let's take the through the brackets here and we mentioned Thursday.
So last time I checked Friday follows Thursday and we'll go through the brackets and show you what it's going to look like for our broadcast schedule, but we're going to go prime time and work our way back word Hughes obviously with the game that you're watching right now, they're going to make their way into the final Roswell and Gainesville.
We talked about that when it's a one score game, early in the fourth quarter, let's go to the middle game on your day Cedartown and Benedictine Benedictine beat troop, they were 35 nothing.
Really Luke Chrome and Hawk the player that you need to pay attention to along with Zhang Quan Bryant good wide receiver and quarterback combo therefore Benedictine knocking off troop left, hand side Cedartown, top-ranked, most of the year they beat North Dakota by the score of 28 to 20.
So the Bulldogs make it back to the last game of the year and in double-a Fitzgerald beats Fellowship Christian they had a 1919 three lead when 19:9.
And on the right hand side Thomson, the Bulldogs return for the first time in a couple of years.
Rob writings, was the head coach last time.
I made it to the last game of the year last win happened.
Almost two decades ago, man.
Was that under Luther Welch?
I believe that is correct.
If my, if my math is correct, don't say 2002 Luther Welsh.
Legendary coach that led the Thompson Bulldogs to such great success.
See the Thompson Bulldogs in the State final?
Congratulations to them.
I'm going back out on offense game as has long since been decided got 5:46 to go in this.
You just feel like this game is determined by the defensive front.
Yeah, Langston Hughes way they work.
After the play.
We, they just Hustler the rotating in and as we talked about with brown or E, Berman a just so many Charles Daniels.
Pick up a first down on that run.
13-yard pickup for him, you lack of a vertical threat to threaten this Independence.
Not going to have a lot of success.
Its job here by German still playing hard fighting for each yard.
Rome will finish up at 12 and 2 on the season fifth time.
They've won as many as 12 games since this ROM program started 31 years ago, Langston Hughes will improve to 14 and 0 seeking their first ever perfect season.
It's about it.
Langston Hughes still has not played a one score game since the State final last year.
They have not won by less than 26 points.
The entire season.
Their average margin of Victory.
44 points.
39 here tonight.
You got the feel and really when you realize this game and the offense, big play that wasn't really consistent.
They had a big impact that I really feel the defense in with the work they did tonight here.
It's once again a tackle for a loss there.
It's the tenth of the game.
Doc where's Oliver?
Yeah.
The big blaze of really come more on the defensive side of the ball from Langston Hughes tonight.
I did have a couple of big ones the Middlebrook 64-yard catching Ron but Leonard had the pick-6 went 45 yards.
Love had an interception but set up another touchdown shikari.
Martin had a interception that stopped a touchdown and eventually turned into a 99 yard Drive which was the that was the one that put the game when they got that interception at the one-yard line.
Line look like Rome still had a chance to get themselves back in the game at that point it was 2:39 Rome score.
Made it, 2110 2111.
Whatever the case may be but they didn't and then Langston Hughes goes five minutes 99 yards and nailed this one shut.
If you have to have Coach read as hell, in this act, as normal often worried about whether the game is out of hand.
I need to get into that two minutes situation, and put your quarterback and your line and all that stress, this run the offense, and the f*** kind of, there's no need to let Langston Hughes tee off on your quarterback, which was gonna happen.
if you tried to do it that way, if you tried to say, okay, we're just going to throw an every down coaching two minutes left in this one, Late man coming off and Langston Hughes.
They'll have to burn a timeout timeout.
All right, time for Nellie to give us some more update.
All right, so last time I checked Saturday follows Friday, so let's go and start with prime time and give you seven, a five, a and three a when it comes to our broadcast, guys, that the game clock reset, the game clock in just a second, but Carrollton and Mill Creek that you're seven, a final.
That is the last game on the board, 7:00 or shortly thereafter Mill, Creek Works their way through Mill Creek, beat Milton earlier, on GPB than remember, they beat West Lake to get to this?
Kill around Carrollton, big win for Juju.
Louis Joey King and the Carrollton.
Trojans, they make their way through to Center Park five.
A Ware County dominant over Dutch town 31-7 Warner Robins took advantage of a lot of Cartersville turnovers five.
I want to say.
So Warner Robins returns for the sixth straight year, former the former region Rivals there with Ware County and Warner Robins, in to start our day on three, a, it is Region 5 and Region 5, it is The one and you've got Cedar Grove in Sandy Creek going at it.
So it's Region 5 versus Region 5 there, Matt when it comes to AAA with Cedar Grove shutting out, of County County and Sandy Creek down early reading Carver Atlanta by the score of 49 14.
So that's your weekend Center Park, sir.
I believe that the Cedar Grove Saints will be going for their fourth state championship in five years.
4th & 5.
Second down and seven.
Chance.
Arthur another Carrie.
Concord continue to wind down here.
Langston Hughes, their next stop will be around the block almost from Lakewood Stadium there.
That glows Center Park Stadium, just a couple of miles away, that's where Langston Hughes will be playing on Friday night against either Gainesville or Roswell.
It's going of talking to him.
Him.
Holder's yet lost last year in the final that has been their motivation All Season to go back and they can't avenge it.
They're not playing Buford but they can redeem it by getting a state championship this year and they're one win away.
One of those weeks where you don't have to do a lot of motivating.
Just hang a lot of we lost last year at this point on the bulletin board.
A all these players were beings that loss they have the team that can do it.
Might be the final play right here, Arthur running, strong all the way down to the 20-yard line.
That'll be a first down for Rome, see if they line up and try to run one more.
Arthur again and that should do it.
Final seconds tick off the clock Langston Hughes back in the state championship game for a second straight Year.
Daniel Boone Williams gets the victory bath and the hugs from his kids, you know, last R, when they got there, everybody said, oh Langston Hughes in the finals.
Well, this year, nobody's saying that are by saying, yep, Langston Hughes is in the finals.
No, sneaking up on anybody.
When you have this kind of roster which boom, celebrate real quick.
What is ultimate?
Goal is team's ultimate goal is next week to win a state championship.
Are Nolan 21 of 24.
Passing 4242 three touchdowns.
Middlebrook had three touchdowns to rushing 64 yards on the ground, 3470, receiving and the suffocating defense from Langston Hughes tonight was really the big story 10 tfl in the game for quarterback sacks, three interceptions led by Demarcus Brown who had two quarterback sacks.
The tfl finished with Six total tackles Langston Hughes a dominating win tonight.
Wayne over Rome.
42 23.
We talked about how powerful the offense was and they get all the low.
But this defense outstanding especially in that defensive line tonight the kind of pressure and penetration they consistently got a team on a mission and playing with a purpose this year.
14 and oh congratulations.
The Langston Hughes.
They have one more step to make to win, their first ever state championship and Still Remains to be seen, who they'll be playing in that 68 final a week from tonight.
But whoever it is better buckle up that chin strap.
Those token is moment to talk to the guys get their mind right?
He knows what he wants to do.
He wants to talk about next week in the State final.
This is a sweet victory dominating performance.
You know, and it was interesting leeteuk to Boone and weeks pass and I said, you know what, made this team so successful.
He said the buy-in, you know, next, we hear that a lot from coaches but it really Rings true.
When you've got a team is talented as Langston Hughes when you've got as many players as you have is so many offers and so many opportunities to go and be a college football player.
It is a special coach that can corralled all that talent and keep them moving in the right direction at once.
one goal time.
Now, to send it, the Autumn coach Boone, you just made it a priority to share that moment with your team.
What did you say to them?
I told him, I said we had a big thing.
We had gone during the playoffs.
We got a price on Monday, so they were excited about having practice on Monday.
You mean because somebody got to win, somebody got goes home.
So we were able to win tonight so that's what I kind of told.
Them and kind of let them know what we practiced talked about.
Can we talk about your D line because they were able to shut down?
Rome only three points.
Headed to your second, straight finals.
How proud of you?
Are you are, if you are this team, I'm an esteem is lifestyle man.
We were playing like that all year.
They've been playing with each other.
You know.
They rallied behind each other.
You know.
It's a small thing that they do it during the week.
It gets us in those situations on Friday night that we're comfortable.
Whether it's closer or what.
We got a bigger, nice leave, it's the same.
Consult with them, let's keep playing together.
Let's keep playing, this keep playing as keep playing.
You did this in an undefeated fashion, the last time you all lost was in the finals last year, and I believe that is what the chip on you guys shoulder.
What do you do?
Use as this motivation As you move forward?
And what you learned from that one, we just used it as continue doing, we doing this year's been kind of magical for so we're gonna continue in that.
We gonna do what we do every week come in, break down upon us and get ready to play.
I think the boys are responding very well to it.
And The coaches are doing a darn, good job coaching.
So that's why we are.
We are.
All right, thank you so much coach congratulation.
Thank you.
All right, we're gonna head to Matt.
Oh actually, we have the Georgia, commissioner player of the game.
I mean, showing out big time.
Players make big time plays to kill Middlebrook you were lights out.
When did you know that this was going to be this type of game for you?
We knew soon as we stepped in Lightwood that was going to be that type of game.
I mean, we knew that the whole team is gonna come together and play for one We did.
What about you?
What were you feeling out there?
I just felt it wasn't like a lot of pressure in that the way which is new.
Well, I knew that I just had to come out and play.
You remain undefeated to now, go into the finals.
What does that mean to you?
I never been to State before they have last year, so we're actually gonna try to win it this year where we are.
I mean, you're a senior one more to get it done.
What does it take to take this one and finish the job?
It's gonna take discipline.
We had to be disciplined.
So I all the levels of football offense, defense, special teams.
And thank you so much.
Congratulations!
Go.
Enjoy the win with your team.
He said, yes, I will.
I, let's head out to Hannah and the studio.
Thanks a lot of what a day for everyone here at GPB Sports.
We had a doubleheader semi-final day.
We started off with Mill Creek, PD Milton, forty eight to fourteen to advance.
They'll take on Carrollton and Hughes took down, Rome, 42, 23, John and I are going to put a whole bow on this whole day coming up next and go through those.
Brackets.

Pretty much made of oil.
No, thanks.
I look for cotton now which grows right here in Georgia.
A major source of the world's Cotton cotton is natural, renewable sustainable, and buying cotton supports to Georgia Farmers.

Cupcakes aren't really, my thing and neither is going to a four-year college.

There's a ton of other traits like electrical and carpentry where you can make great money live.
A great life style with little to no debt and even Be Your Own Boss.
While I've got a quick break in the action, did you know that the same area of just one football field can contain up to 95 termite Colony?
That's why you need bread, A Pest Management to defend your home right after the official pest control of high school football, Welcome back.
We just concluded the 6A.
Semi final game between Rome and links.
Did Hughes Hughes, pull it out.
42 to 32 advance for the second straight Year.
We're still waiting on the last game of the day to conclude, that's Gainesville versus Roswell, could be going to Ooty.
That's who Hughes will be playing.
I'm Hannah good and let's bring in John Nelson.
And John, what were your thoughts on this matchup in Cotton commission player of the game to kill Middlebrook three, total TD's, receiving and rushing outstanding night for him.
Yeah.
And I think that it goes to the adjustments that coach Boone and their staff made at the half because, you know, we discussed it at halftime and how close the game, was it 14-3?
Then you make the adjustments you end up getting turnovers and being dominant after what you got to talk to you guys about at the half and so outscoring them 28 nothing in the second half.
And so Hughes once again, dominant team, nationally ranked in class 6A here in the state of Georgia.
And so a lot of folks, anticipated that Hughes being top of the rankings in, 6A would make it to the last game of the year.
Those folks are not disappointed.
They're just waiting to see who that opponent is going to be in 6A 34 teams in action tonight, narrowing it down to 16.
Like I said, only waiting on one more game.
The 68 bracket John, we have final scores to all of them.
How about you?
Take us through it all, it's like John brackets.
Okay.
There we go.
Alright, so let's start off in 7A.
The early game here on GPB Mill Creek, dominant over Milton by the score of 48 to 14, they will face Carrollton, who went down to the Hog Pen in Moultrie knocked off Colquitt County by the score of 35 27, they got a big score to take the lead at the half, did not relinquish it Carrollton and Mill Creek is your final in 7A, that will be prime time the last championship game on Saturday.
Next up on the board is 6a, we've discussed We know right now, they're still waiting on Rosalind.
Gainesville will keep an eye on that one, and if we end up with a final score by the time I got off the air will let you know.
Let's go to Five a show.
You what's going on there?
We're County dominant in their game.
Put up a big number early against Dutch town.
1831 7.
So we're County returns at Dudley was the head coach.
The last time that we're Counting made it to the last game of the year.
They will face Warner Robins old region Rivals.
Here Warner Robins took advantage of a handful of Cartersville turnovers 135 10:00 tonight at the Back in Quad a show.
You what's going on here?
Cedartown and Benedictine Cedartown.
Benedictine both ranked near the top in quad-a all year long they do not disappoint Cedartown wins over North Dakota by the score of 28 to 25 Benedict and doubles up troop.
It was 35-nothing, Benedictine one by the score of 42 to 21 in AAA show you what's going on there.
It's Region 5 verses Region 5 Cedar Grove, they made their way through as the 1 seed Sandy Creek made their way through as the two seed.
So it A region Championship all over again.
It's just for the rematch in class, AAA Sandy Creek, knocked off Carver Atlanta, Carver Atlanta had eight, nothing lead Sandy Creek, one 4914 Cedar Grove, shut out of Coney County by the score of 23 to nothing in double-a Fitzgerald gets to see if they can repeat as Champs and double-a knocking off Fellowship.
Christian by the score of 19 9, they were up 19:3 Fellowship scored late to cut it to 10 and the Thomson Bulldogs return for the first time in a handful of years.
And they will, they knocked off a plane County By the score of 22, 14, Fitzgerald and Thompson, interesting matchup here Thompson with all their speed, Fitzgerald with what they are able to do in Pounding.
The football in double-a to more brackets to go in class.
A let's start with d 1, Swainsboro kicks, a late field, goal in Ocilla to knock off Irwin County by the score of 22 to 21 on the right hand side st. Francis hung tough with Prince Avenue but it's p AC and Swainsboro in the D1 final Prince Avenue, wins it by the score of 2421 and then in D2.
Bowden rank near the top for most of the year as was slide County.
Slide County lost early in non-region.
They had to work their way up through the rankings but as a region Champs like County at a region 6, Bowden Works their way out of region 7 and they will meet at Center Park Red Devils and Elavil for the first time ever.
In school history, Hannah, slide County in the Wildcats make their way to the last game of the year.
We mentioned before, Junior quarterback.
Jake Kanazawa the player to pay attention to for Darren offered the slide County Bowden Stout offenses.
Well that game could score through the roof and maybe break the scoreboard at Center park.
By the time we're done and John update for you.
It looks like Gainesville did when it they held Roswell on the 3-yard line.
Final score 35 to 28.
So the semi-finals have been concluded.
We are going to take a look at the championship schedule.
