Look how cool this place is.
Couture in Issaquah?
I might never leave.
And today's question.
This color or blue?
See this wooden walkway and how it curves?
That's because this used to be an old railroad track.
Gillman village has been family run for over 50 years.
I recently had a chance to sit down with two generations of that family.
I think what makes Gilman Village so special is the same thing that makes everybody special.
It’s their personality, the way they look, the way you feel around th..
It didn't begin with a plan.
That's kind of its magic.
It was an initial idea that came about in times when times were tough.
And how do you make things work, with what you've got?
And so we started with just a couple of houses, and then it just caught on.
Issaquah embraced it, and it grew and it grew.
Now it's seven acres.
We have 40 plus businesses.
I think what's really great about the businesses that ... is that you're going to meet the owner, like the person who is at the desk checking you out is the person who dreamed up the idea for the store, the person who chooses the things that are in it, the person who builds the things that they're selling.
You can't get that anywhere else.
And I just think that's really amazing.
Gilman village is unlike anywhere else.
There's about 50 different boutiques for you to expl... and ten of those are restaurants where you can eat.
I picked this one.
I'm Angela.
Thanks for exploring.
I'll see you.
