As a pre-budget hors d’oeuvre, Gov. Phil Murphy on Thursday served up a new property-tax rebate proposal. It would include renters and ultimately extend property-tax relief and rebates to some 1.8 million New Jersey homeowners and tenants getting squeezed by skyrocketing inflation and perpetually rising property tax rates.
