In the 32nd spot, Obama praises Sherrill as a mom who will drive down costs and keep communities safe.
>> Mike's integrity, grit and commitment to service are what we need right now in our leaders.
Mike Sherrill is the right choice for your next governor.
So go vote by November 4th.
>> The high profile backing comes after her challenger, Republican Jack Ciatarelli, received endorsements from major players in the GOP, including President Trump.
And as new polling shows Sherrill maintaining a single digit lead in what's been a tightening race.
The latest Fairleigh Dickinson University survey puts Sherrill ahead 52 to 45 percent with just 3 percent of voters saying they're still undecided.
In a race that's being closely watched across the country as an early referendum on President Trump's second term.
And it could signal political mood heading into next year's midterm elections.
Meanwhile, a new Fox News poll shows a narrower edge for the Democrat, 50 to 45 percent.
Both, though, are consistent with past surveys, but suggest Sherrill's advantage is shrinking as Election Day approaches.
