A young woman from Kentucky is making a name for herself nationally.

She's on the campaign trail for the Harris Walls campaign, sharing her personal story to advocate for reproductive rights.

And last night, she returned to her western Kentucky roots near Owensboro.

Most Kentuckians became familiar with Hadley Duvall when she appeared in a campaign ad supporting Governor Andy Beshear reelection bid.

She is now making public appearances on behalf of the Harris Walls campaign, who hopes the issue of abortion access will help them win the White House.

I have been traveling across the country really on the Reproductive Freedom Bus tour a whole lot.

She did a great job and we're certainly glad that she was here in June.

Of all, as a full time surrogate on the Harris Walz campaign.

Boots on the ground in the battleground states.

Crisscrossing the country from Arizona and Nevada to Michigan and Pennsylvania.

I just try to let people know that this is my personal experience and I'm speaking my truth.

More and more people are hearing Duvall's painful truths of childhood sexual abuse.

Her stepfather impregnating her at 12 years old.

I always thought, you know, some superhero is going to come save me.

And so I decided to just save myself.

Duvall miscarried that pregnancy, but knew at the time she did have options.

It's all about a choice.

She was moved to share her personal trauma after Roe versus Wade was overturned.

Whenever they took our reproductive rights.

We knew we had taken our eyes off the target.

And that was a wake up call.

There are women who have been denied care when they've needed it.

She says there's only one candidate in the presidential race that she trusts to protect abortion access.

The government should not be telling a woman what to do with her body.

We know Kamala Harris said in a debate in front of everybody that she would veto a national ban.

Donald Trump, unfortunately, would not answer the question.

Duvall calls it an empowering choice to go public with her story.

Her activism led her to be named one of Glamour's Women of.

The Year.

And conversations with the vice president, who Duvall first met back in June, before Harris was at the top of the ticket.

And she called me herself and just wanted to talk to me because she didn't want the first time I sat down to be in front of a camera and to be telling such a personal story.

She just wanted to connect a little bit one on one, and that was so caring of her.

That was so genuine, Duvall says.

Harris wants to find a middle ground with voters, as polls show the race in a dead heat.

It'll come down to the wire, no question about it.

Western Kentucky Democrats like former state Senator Dorsey, readily hopeful that Harris will win the presidency.

I think she just needs to stay on the road that she's on.

I think she needs to speak to people as she's doing.

And I think she's getting her message out clearly.

And people are listening.
