(people talking in background) Hi, my name is Jude, and I'm just gonna play a few songs for you guys tonight.
(talking continues) (strums guitar discordantly) Sorry.
(strums guitar discordantly) (playing song out of tune) (feedback squeals briefly) (unsteady playing continues) ♪ Thoughts whirl around my head ♪ (coughing) (unsteady playing continues) ♪ As I lay in bed Wait, um... (strums, feedback squeaks) Uh... thank you.
(audience talking more loudly) MANAGER: Jude, what the heck was that?
- I don't know what happened.
You totally blew it.
Do you know how hard I worked to get you this gig?
I'm sorry, this just isn't my scene.
MANAGER: If you're going to do this, you're gonna have to be able to do whatever gig I get you.
You know what?
I can't do this anymore.
MANAGER: What do you mean?
- I mean I'm done.
I need you to cancel all of my upcoming shows.
You realize if you do this, it could ruin your whole career, right?
We worked too hard to just let it go.
JUDE: I'm sorry, I have to-- I just don't know what else to do!
♪ (chanting in Arabic) (chanting hesitantly) (stops chanting) (chanting) WOMAN: Hey, you're Jude!
JUDE: Yeah, I am.
- I'm such a huge fan, I heard you play at a coffee shop about a year ago, and I've been listening to your music ever since.
JUDE: Thank you, I really appreciate that.
- You know that song "Goodbye"?
That really helped me get through my... My grandfather's death.
I'm sorry for your loss.
I'm really glad my music was able to help you.
WOMAN: After seeing you that day playing, I mean, you really seemed like you were really happy, and you were doing something you really love.

JUDE: Yeah, of course.
