- Hi, I'm Becca Finley.
I had the privilege of collaborating with my talented friends across the southeast to create a concert special for you.
The performances you will see will hopefully inspire you to walk through the door of trust and bestow your unique gifts upon those around you, as we did together here.
In these types of shared moments, we cultivate an opening to nurture communities of compassion.
I hope you enjoy this as much as we enjoyed making it.
♪ A nudge ♪ ♪ Yeah, but I'm gonna sing ♪ ♪ I'm gonna sing even if I go down ♪ ♪ Discontented delight might be my fate ♪ - We can think about all the things that divide us.
We can think about our different religions, our different races, our different beliefs.
But the one way to really remain human to one another is to remember that we all have pain.
We have all lost someone.
We are all hurting in some way.
That is what makes us human, that is what brings us together, the pains that we have experienced.
If we can see each other for that raw human side, I really do hope that we can truly come out of this a better people, a better country, and just better overall.
Let's just all remember that we're all hurting.
Let's be kind to one another and gentle to one another.

But the reason that we write songs is we believe in the power of music to bring people together.
And so, I hope that that has happened for you tonight.
As you've heard these songs, I hope you've found a little bit of hope, a little bit of peace.
But ultimately it's our hope and our desire that we can bring folks together.

(steady music continues) - Being young, I think one of the most difficult things in our heads is getting past that, "Well, what will people think of my opinion?
"What will they say?

And being a musician and an artist and someone that really wants to lift people up, I really struggled with this for a long time.
And I put it in the back of my mind and just thought, "Well, I'm just an entertainer "and I should just use my voice for entertaining."
But the more years that go by, the more I realize that there is one cause that no matter what your opinion is we can all get behind; and that is using your voice and voting.

And I think we have it, deep down we're just, we're a fierce bunch.

And folks have said before me as I've been listening to them speak between songs about sometimes you gotta have hard conversations.
