Inflation and higher labor costs add to the pressure

The recent extreme heat and dry conditions in New Jersey are causing concern for farmers. At Honey Brook Organic Farm in Chesterfield, co-owner Sherry Dudas says they are starting to see some “quality issues.” For example, the blackberries they’re currently harvesting aren’t as flavorful as they should be. But the heat is mostly a strain on workers, which can lead to a slowdown in production.
