Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorshipOn Capitol Hill, an angry exchange involving Congressman James Colmer of Kentucky's first District, Colmer as chairman of the House Oversight Committee, has been leading an investigation into the president's son, Hunter Biden and his finances.
Colmer has criticized Biden as well.
One of those criticisms involves a loan from the president to his brother.
But Democrats say Colmer also loan money to his brother.
Here is an exchange today between Colmer and Congressman Jared Moskowitz, a Democrat from Florida.
But you and Goldman, who is Mr. Trust Fund, continue to publicly proclaiming my no, I'm not going to give you your time, but I won't stop the clock.
You are continued.
You look like a Smurf here, just going around and all this stuff.
Mr. Chairman, you have to hold on if you can.
We're not on time with you.
This information you have done on him.
It's something you did.
You're doing stuff in your brother.
The American people have the same question.
Why do they believe you?
Why do they believe you investigate?
Why did they believe you?
There's a different rule for the president.
There's a different rule.
Why do they believe what you're saying, Mr. Chairman?
Why you go on Fox News and say, loan you yours?
Or when you say taxes, we don't know that's what you're doing or not.
We don't know.
We have no idea.
We're supposed to take your word for it.
But when the press.
You've been through a liar, Mr. Moskowitz.
What's that?
You've already been proven allowed.
Who's proven me a liar?
You?
Yes.
Your word means nothing.
Go to my home town.
There's a camera crew there today, an opposition research crew there today.
Mr. Chairman, this seems to have gone down worse.
It seems to have gotten under your skin, pay for your good.
I think the American people have lots of questions, Mr. Chairman.
And perhaps you should sit maybe for a deposition.
Comber says that the story of him loaning mother money, rather, to his brother are first reported by The Daily Beast is, quote, completely false.
End quote.
What an exchange.
