Generations of Alderson women have sort of sewn their little pocket on.
Each patch represents a different moment in our lives.
Me grandma sewed that one on.
Ah.
And then me mom did the last one for our Jenny Wren The idea that she'd got busy with life, and then found this beautiful thing that her mom had done and that her grandma had done and she was a mom now, and she's just about to lose Jenny to an adventure.
Yeah, that makes me a bit emotional thinking about it.
She doesn't know when she'll come back, and that's incredibly difficult for Helen.
I want Jenny to go, but only if she's ready.
- No one's ever ready, are they?
- She always probably knew that she'd fly the nest at some point, and that she'd want to go and spread her wings.
Helen became a surrogate parent to Jenny so young, and she took on that role willingly, and with open arms, and she's loved it.
But, then of course when it comes to the point where Jenny's about to spread her wings and be her own person, you can't help but sort of reflect.
She kind of looks back and goes, well, I didn't get the opportunity to do that.
She became a surrogate parent so young from losing her mom.
- You never got your adventure.
I know you're not my mom, not really, but you are, you are.
- Throughout the seasons, she's gone from being a kind of parental role to Jenny to their becoming friends, and then the roles have reversed and Jenny was there for Helen.
Their relationship has matured and grown, and we get to explore that in this season, which is lovely.
It's Candy, Joan and the foal.
I'm not sure it's as good as me mums, to be honest.
- Her two beautiful girls.
- Are you seeing things?
Where am I?
It's just a wren.
