Amy Kerwin of the Great Lakes Higher Education Guaranty Corporation said the program awarded $125,000 to students across Wisconsin this semester. Kerwin said the program focuses on students attending two-year schools because those students tend to be of lower incomes. The grants assist students in emergency situations only and are intended to help cover housing and other living costs.
