Matthew Desmond's book "Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City" covers Milwaukee's eviction epidemic, most common in poor neighborhoods. He said black, low-income women and children are most affected. Desmond lived in Milwaukee for months to gather research for the book, studying eight evicted families and their landlords.
