First Lady of Wisconsin Tonette Walker highlighted the practice in the State of the State this month. Trauma-informed care helps those who work with children consider each child's background and experiences, which for many students include some sort of trauma. Walker and Hudson are both on the steering committee of Fostering Futures, an initiative to promote the approach in schools and elsewhere.
