State Senate Majority Leader Sen. Scott Fitzgerald, R-Juneau, backs a bill that would loosen regulations on industrial wells. Under the bill, the DNR would not have oversight on the wells if they’re repaired, replaced or the property is sold. The bill passed the Senate this week. Fitzgerald also spoke on the struggle to come to a consensus on transportation funding in the state budget.
