Republican Sen. Johnson said the public should be able to nominate the next Justice.

Republican Sen. Ron Johnson said the public should have a voice in selecting the replacement for Justice Antonin Scalia through voting for the next president later this year. Johnson said it is perfectly appropriate for Senate members to withhold their consent on a candidate nomination by President Obama.
