Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorshipI've been teaching at East for 13 years, maybe halfway through my time, six years in, somebody was like, “We should make a Film Club, ” And I thought obviously.
In the beginning of the year we kind of do different aspects of film.
We look at editing and camera angles and lighting and warn them all year long about the film festival that's coming in April.
We want you to make an under five minute film, so if you want to be a part of it, yes, but we'll also extend it to the rest of the student body.
The student took 2 to 3 months to create and hand-draw every single scene, and it's based on the character of Brutus and Julius Caesar.
And it's really powerful set to pretty intense music.
And that's one of our first animated films.
And I have bunches of box candy prizes like classic movie theater candy.
And then at the end I give awards and the students in film club have helped me create awards.
This year for Best Soundtrack comes on a vinyl.
I hope that we're bringing some joy to the students and it's not mine to share.
It's theirs to share.
But I'm glad we have a platform for them to, like, showcase their creativity.
