If you're heading northeast out of Duluth, up Highway 61, the first stop is Gooseberry Falls.
Mile marker 39.
Beaver Falls.
The mile marker 51.1 park at the Beaver Bay Rest area.
And take a very short stroll to the bridge.
1 to 10, a good state park at mile marker 59.
There are a number of falls you can head to or just check out one of the best views on the North Shore.
Right from the bridge.
Cross River falls at mile marker 79 can be viewed from the highway bridge that separates river flows under the highway.
Mile marker 80.6 park on either side of the bridge for access to trails down to the gorge and mouth of the river.
Cascade River Trailhead is at mile marker 99.8 300 feet up river to see the falls or park on the lake side of Highway 61 to watch the river flow into Lake Superior.
