Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship(PBS jingle music) (gentle music) - Hmong New Year is the only event that Hmong people celebrate back in Laos.
So because we work so hard throughout the year and New Year is the only event that everybody was looking for.
So that's why we keep the traditional.
We work all year and we save our clothes.
We save the best dress for that day because everybody will come and will see who you are and they'll know how you live your life through that year.
Nowadays the celebration is part of the culture preservation.
To come to taste our food and we have the opportunity for the youth and for other group to come to see our culture and to learn about our culture.
