history of hockey goes way back late 1918 to 1920.

The city fathers, they even recruited players to come into town, and one of them was Ching Johnson.

And his name is synonymous with early Eveleth.

Hockey just ballooned from there.

The teams were playing real well throughout the country, too.

Junior college was number one in the country over those years.

Later, years, Christian Brothers built the first one and they built it so they could get into the world book Guinness book.

So they had to build it as bird aspects of the stick.

They didn't have the center support, so it started sagging.

So I had to take it down.

And then the city had a new one built.

There is a new when we travel the country and with our teams at the kids or the high school, you run into somebody.

And throughout the country, everybody knows when you talk hockey and Evan, they jump up, says, Yeah, yes.

They say, Where are you from?

Northern Minnesota.

Where?

North of Duluth.

Well where's that?

Well, then Eveleth.

Oh, I know where that is.

You know, throughout the country.

You get those responses.

So I think it's still out there Eveleth is still out there.
