(upbeat music) - Salt Lake County Arts and Culture invites families to celebrate the launch of the annual holiday art installation at the Eccles Theater.
And here with more details is Jenn Niedfeldt.
Hi, Jenn, always a pleasure- - Hey, Mary.
- to have you back.
Okay, so the big art installation you're putting up that you will light on the 24th.
- Mm-hmm.
- Okay.
Tell us what it is this year.
- It is absolutely magical.
I think one of our most whimsical ones.
This will be our seventh one actually.
But it's done by Jeremy Morgan and Brooke Smart.
It is a giant carousel.
It features local native Utah animals.
It is hand painted.
It'll be suspended.
And this event, of course, has lights on, is where we'll be lighting it up in the most beautiful manner.
And it's a free celebration for the community to come and join us, celebrate the holiday season, and really celebrate some of our extremely talented local artists.
- Boy, no kidding.
So they're both local, the ones who did this.
- They sure are.
- Oh, don't we love a carousel?
- Gosh, it is just such a magical experience.
And we're hoping to round out the whole evening, it'll start at 6:00 p.m., ends at 7:30.
Like I said, it's free.
So we'll be able to do the lighting, which is just this wonderful moment, and then we'll also have some really fun entertainment.
We're gonna be bringing in a magician, some balloon tie-ers, we'll have some circ performers, plenty of snacks, fun things.
It is super family friendly.
- Oh wow.
- Live music.
Should be a really easy way to come and celebrate the season downtown, where everything's gonna be all lit up.
- Oh, it'll be great, it'll be great.
Just to see a carousel- - Yeah.
- life size.
I'm curious what animals are on there.
- That I won't reveal because I'll invite people to come and see them.
- Oh.
- But they are all natives, and like I said, they are hand painted, and it is in the absolutely stunning Eccles Grand Lobby.
So even if you're not able to come on the evening of the 24th, you can still come back and see it 'cause it'll be up the whole holiday season.
And because it's in the Grand Lobby, which is open to the public, 10:00 to 6:00 p.m.
many day of the week, except Sunday.
- Great, great.
Well, it sounds fabulous.
And thank you so much for being here.
- Thank you.
- And if you'd like to know more about the unveiling of that art installation, Lights on at the Eccles, it's November 24th from 6:00 to 7:30 at the Eccles Theater in the Grand Lobby, just go to saltlakecountyarts.org, that's saltlakecountyarts.org.
