(cheerful music) - Reset and recharge at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center with a Holiday Detox, a peaceful event focused on reflection and community connection.
Stephany Murguia is here with all of the details.
Hi, Stephany.
- Hey.
- So you're from Neighborhood Services.
Tell us a little bit about Neighborhood Services first.
- Neighborhood Services is part of West Valley City, and we're located at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center.
And so our goal is to connect and provide resources and events for West Valley and also Utah residents.
- How did this idea come about?
I love it.
- So we are having the Holiday Detox, and we were all just exploring, you know, the holidays, December, the Winter Solstice, it can all feel so overwhelming, and sometimes we just need a little reset as we go into the new year.
And so we thought, what a great way to do that, to provide, you know, different activities, different events to just reset for 2026.
- Tell us about some of those activities.
- Yeah, so we will have a sound bath.
So if you've never participated in a sound bath, it's a beautiful sound and just body experience.
We'll also have a re-gifting.
So we get so many things throughout the month of December, and sometimes if we don't need those things, or maybe we feel like giving back, there'll be an opportunity to bring something, take something, or just leave something, and, you know, it'll go back to the community.
We'll also have some really great detox teas and smoothies, and then we'll also have activities where we can let go of 2025 intentionally, and also step into 2026 with some affirmations and goals.
And so it'll be a really beautiful evening event.
- That sounds amazing, and I was just saying, I have done a sound bath once, and it was so, like, it exceeded my expectations.
I was expecting just, you know, like peaceful sounds and everything.
But you did say it is a body experience, and I love that.
I love that you're offering that.
Is this something that's free and open to the public?
- Yes, so there's no cost, and it's completely open to the public, and it'll be at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center.
- Okay, well, thank you so much for being here to tell us about this event.
- Thank you for having us.
