House Bill 331 would require middle and high schools to have an automated external defibrillator and training on how to use it.
Taylor Mill representative Kim Moser says most schools already have the machines typically referred to as aides and says House Bill 331 would require schools to have a plan in place and patient's ever needed.
As a former coach and a former school administrator, that the best part of this bill is not the actual object sitting on the desk there in front.
It's the plan and how well thought out it's been, how this is to be done seasonally, because I know very well that your athletic trainers who will have a mobility will be in a different spot during different seasons.
And your staff, your custodians, your coaches, your students need to know where those people are.
House Bill 331 will now head to the full House for consideration by the entire membership.
